Abstract:
The self-awareness capacity has long been no stranger in the foreign education, but in Vietnam, self-awareness capacity has only been developed in education in recent years. The self-awareness capacity related problems among Vietnamese students have been exacerbated such as gender-based violence, gender bias, wrong career choices, disorientation and school counseling activities currently could not support this difficulty for students. Based on the theoretical framework of self-awareness capacity from previous studies in Vietnam and further developing the aspects of self-awareness by age, the questionnaire had been done to survey of 726 lower-secondary school students and 474 upper-secondary school students to find the situation of their self-awareness capacity problems, as well as the need for self-awareness capacity problems counseling. The results demonstrated a positive correlation between self-awareness capacity problems and students’ need for self-awareness capacity problems counseling. In addition, identifying self-awareness capacity problems encountered by students helps us to develop a new school counseling model, as well as a process to counsel self-awareness capacity problems for students to enhance the self-awareness capacity and support school counseling activities effectively, also meeting the requirements of renewing the general curriculum in the students’ capacity development orientation in Vietnam. Abstract:
As a result of changes made in U.S. immigration policies in 1965, the number of immigrants and refugees entering the country has exploded, and many of them are now enrolled in baccalaureate social work programs. Social work educators have a dual responsibility to provide help and support for these foreign-born students while upholding the standards of the profession and preparing students to pass licensing examinations. Departments must discuss needs, expectations, challenges, and policies regarding academic requirements. Classroom strategies that ensure individual learning styles are enhanced by context-rich classroom exercises, a liberal use of writing, and a sensitive use of paraphrasing and collaborative learning. Advisors need to be aware of community resources available. Institutions should provide language and economic supports and culturally sensitive counseling centers. Baccalaureate social work educators must examine the unjust economic and social policies and lead the way in addressing barriers placed in the way of immigrant and refugee students.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Nowadays, wechat applications are very popular in China. Through the text, pictures, sound and video on the wechat official account platform, all-round communication between individuals and between individuals and the media has been realized. Wechat official account platform is an important functional module of wechat application. On this platform, enterprises and individuals can create an official account to communicate and interact with specific users. Its forms of communication and interaction are very diverse, including text, sound, pictures, pictures, text messages and videos. This paper applies the wechat official account platform to foreign language (English) teaching for primary school students. Developed foreign language (English) learning resources suitable for wechat official account platform. Subjects and Methods 330 public primary school teachers were investigated by stratified sampling, including the experimental primary school in F City, the First Affiliated Primary School of s Normal University and the experimental primary school in district a of F City. From the deep understanding of the wechat official account platform, the strong support for the wechat official account platform, the diverse forms of the wechat official account platform, the diverse contents of the wechat official account platform, and the diversity of the wechat official account platform, we conducted a questionnaire survey, and realized the implementation of the wechat official account and the practical teaching resource platform from the perspective of psychology. In addition, the study also found that foreign language anxiety was negatively correlated with foreign language achievement. Similarly, there is a significant negative correlation between foreign language anxiety and self-efficacy. State anxiety, trait anxiety and foreign language learning anxiety are all positively correlated. The “anxiety” component of learners' personality characteristics plays a great role in the generation of foreign language learning anxiety. The correlation coefficient between LCAS and trait anxiety was 0.408, while the correlation coefficient between LCAS and state anxiety was 0.395. Both reached a significant level (P < 0.01). Self efficacy is positively correlated with foreign language achievement. Research shows that foreign language anxiety, gender and self-efficacy can be used as comprehensive variables to measure foreign language learning achievement. Results Based on the teaching concept of “teacher led and student-centered”, the traditional classroom teaching and network assisted learning were combined. Through the primary school foreign language (English) learning resource platform based on wechat official account platform \ primary school foreign language (English) reading resource platform based on wechat official account platform \ primary school foreign language (English) counseling and Q & a platform based on wechat official account platform, Let students realize resource-based autonomous learning in order to achieve the best effect of foreign language learning. Conclusion From the survey data, the teachers of the surveyed schools have realized the advantages of oral English teaching on wechat public platform. Wechat public platform has built a bridge for communication between teachers and students and realized free dialogue between teachers and students. Therefore, the platform has become an oral English training base. Carry out students' English teaching and develop English learning resources suitable for wechat public platform. Based on the concept of “double master”, these two teaching methods are combined with traditional classroom teaching and network assisted learning. Based on wechat public primary school English learning resource platform, wechat public primary school English reading resource platform or wechat public primary school English counseling platform, let primary school students realize autonomous learning and optimize primary school English learning. Abstract:
As a groundwork of career path counseling for international students, this study aims at analyzing their competencies when it comes to their career development. Many foreign students choose Korean universities in order to receive degrees in a relatively advanced educational environment in the hopes of broadening their career options. The fact that 53% of international students in Korea are now majoring in the social sciences supports this viewpoint. However, many Korean universities have not yet provided a proper career counseling program, nor a competency development program for their international students, but rather only a handful of temporal job fairs. In light of this situation, this study sought a proper and practical way to design a curriculum more tailored to the career paths of our international students so as to help them improve their competencies. Utilizing the questionnaire from Lee (2020), the author conducted an online survey with 92 international students who study at universities in Seoul.</br>The survey results show that of all the career development competencies, the value and attitude competencies scored the highest, whereas the self-management competency scored the lowest. In addition, male students generally have higher competencies than female students. The students’ chosen major, their period of study, and their Korean proficiency level do not show significant correlations with their competencies. This suggests career development competencies do not improve in conjunction with the aforementioned factors. Thus, in order for international students to improve their career development competencies, an independent, specialized curriculum that is well-fitted to their career paths seems necessary.

Abstract:
The relevance of the study lies in the necessity of developing the remote forms of counselling work with foreign students during the adaptation period. In this regard, the purpose of the present study is to analyse the programmes of remote counselling of international students at HEIs in the US to determine the potential for extrapolation of foreign experience into the higher education systems of other countries. We applied a number of methods, such as analysis, synthesis, abstraction, the method of moving from abstract to concrete, which enable a comprehensive review of the issue of remote counselling of international students. The article studies the aspects of online counselling of international students. Psychological support has been observed to be an element of the acculturation triad and therefore should be considered in the context of the education process. The article emphasises that since international students are exposed to the negative influence of the phenomenon of “culture shock”, and they should participate in relevant initiatives aimed at the development of skills for overcoming emotional and psychological issues. We have analysed the programmes, courses, and seminars of the University of Minnesota and the Florida International University, which allowed determining the algorithm for the development of the online counselling system, namely providing international students with informational reference materials (including reading materials and videos) for their personal guidance and general understanding of the challenges relevant for foreign students; holding personal meetings between a student and a counsellor via video conferences, which allows discussing the existing psychological issues and build interpersonal relationships. The practical benefits of this study reside in the fact that the development of remote programmes, courses and seminars (with the introduction of foreign experience to such activities) will have a positive impact on the psychological support system at the country level and will facilitate further development of remote education systems and ensure the increased use of modern ICTs in education and other areas

Abstract:
The study aims to inspect the influence of the pandemic of COVID-19 on the mental health of both undergraduate and postgraduate students, who have been stranded from Chinese universities. The study used the online questionnaire, which was comprised of three scales. These are self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), the self-rating depression scale (SDS), and the scale for social avoidance and distress (SAD). A total of 159 undergraduates and 153 postgraduate students have participated in this study and it comprises both males and females. For exploring the impact of the Covid-19 on the mental health of the students, who have been stranded from Chinese universities, the study has made the use of the independent sample t-test and analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA). The findings show that Mental health of students stranded from universities negatively affected due to high level of anxiety, depression, and social anxiety due to pandemic. However, the level of anxiety, depression, and social anxiety has reduced to some extent as compare to earlier studies after the emergence of pandemic of COVID-19. The outbreak of COVID-19 has affected females more than males and the postgraduate students have a lower level of depression as compared to the undergraduate students because they have shown a higher level of mean and standard deviation values. Moreover, the depression level was high among the students of Natural and Applied sciences. The results also confirm that the level of anxiety, depression, and social anxiety was high in the young students as compared to the mature ones. Then, the level of anxiety and social anxiety was high in the students, who could not resume their classes and degrees. The findings of this study suggest that the mental health o undergraduate and postgraduate students should be carefully monitored after the pandemic of COVID-19 because it has left a deep mark on their mental health. Furthermore, it also calls for proper psychological counseling for addressing the issues of depression and anxiety in them.

Abstract:
Study skills and learning strategies are essential in organizing and facilitating learning for academic purposes. Meanwhile, differences in the use of these skills among students coming from distinct cultures are usually based on stereotypes and prejudices. This paper examined the study skills and learning strategies of 236 university students coming from two universities in Saudi Arabia and in the USA by means of the Study and Learning Strategies Inventory (LASSI), a follow up interview and a study diary. To investigate differences in study skills and learning strategies’ use among university students, origin, as Saudi or American, was taken as the independent variable in this study. Results revealed that American students employ study skills and learning strategies other than those used by Saudi students when it comes to the cognitive skills. However, as far as the affective skills are concerned, both groups had difficulties. Such a finding suggests the possibility that study skills’ use varies across cultures. The results of this study could be implemented, first, in raising the awareness of students, teachers, policy makers and counselors about the role of culture in study skills and learning strategies’ use and second in offering training and counseling for incoming foreign university students.

ntroduction. Personal therapy is an emotionally and professionally important experience that should be central to the training and development ofhealth professionals -psychologists and psychotherapists.Aim. Based on the analysis of latest research, to identify the main trends in giving personal therapy to counselors and psychologists as a mandatory part of their professional training.Results. Personal therapy, according to foreign research, is at the epicenter of psychologists' educational space. In most European countries and the United States, personal therapy is a prerequisite to obtaining a degree in counseling. In those countries, personaltherapy is received by every three out of four psychology students, while in Ukraine only one out of four students goes into therapy. Specialists value their personal experience of therapy more than their didactic training. The inclusion of personal therapy in the educational process helps to achieve students' personal and professional goals, as well as to increase their levels of self-awareness and professional identification through the internalization of their professional qualities.Conclusions. The analysis of latest relevant research has found a strong need for psychology/psychotherapy students' personal therapy as an effective method of forming their professional position and necessary professional qualities.

Latinx college students experience depression and anxiety similarly to other groups. Systemic factors (e.g., discrimination, family support) may exacerbate or protect from symptoms. We incorporated an ecological framework to assess family cohesion, social networks, acculturative stress, perceived discrimination, and foreigner objectification as predictors of depression and anxiety for Latinx students at a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). Only discrimination predicted depression and anxiety after controlling for age, gender, and birthplace. Educational and counseling implications are addressed.

Abstract:
The paper deals with the main problems of international students’ study at higher educational institutions and the necessary university services, for example, propaedeutic training and foreign language courses that help foreigners to study successfully in an unfamiliar learning environment. The interpretation of psychological adaptation and academic adaptation is given based on the analysis of the issue source. The work explores specifics of adaptation and favorable conditions for international students in higher education, as well as identifies problems with the adaptation of foreigners in university education. Recommendations for psychological support of foreigners by advisors are given. The university services of the international students’ advisors and other university staff are analyzed concerning assistance on academic adaptation to the different educational system of the country and university requirements to studying. It is indicated that knowledge of the basics of psychology, features of personality psychotypes, and human adaptive abilities is very important for advisors to help students adapt to the academic requirements of a particular educational system. Advisors should act as a mediator to facilitate the learning process of students, taking into account individual worldviews and intellectual development, for example, while developing a personal curriculum and teaching time management. The work also highlights three main forms of counseling by their advisors as seminars, individual assistance or group work. Various student centers and university campus organizations are listed that help foreigners study and live in an unfamiliar academic environment. Abstract:
This is a case study of campus-based activist research on multicultural diversity and tolerance in a college town in the Southeast after the destruction of the World Trade Center (WTC) towers to decrease the post-9/11 hostility against Muslims, particularly women. As part of a Community Mental Health Consultation project at the University of Tennessee, the first author, a professor, assigned the second author, a foreign-born Muslim woman graduate student, to recruit and organize several Muslim women students from the Muslim Students Association. The students, performing their identity as Muslim women, conducted community workshops on Islam to promote knowledge and awareness of religious differences, and ethnic diversity and tolerance; and to reduce hostility against the Muslim community. This article includes web links to videos of their first workshop. We describe in detail the students’ collaborative intervention to address threats of gendered ethnoviolence as social action. A number of positive outcomes accompanied their empowering intervention, including the institution of the Ramadan Fast-a-Thon, now celebrated nationally at more than 230 colleges and universities. We conclude with implications for counseling and psychology for such collaborative intentional action in community interventions, given the harsh polarization around religious and cultural issues we struggle with today.

Abstract:
The study analyses the historical basis of the system of social and pedagogical support of foreign students in the United States. The relevance of the study lies in the importance of modernisation and the regular improvement of adaptive preparatory programmes in the linguistic, psychological, and sociocultural areas. However, this requires the use of the experience of countries with the biggest practice of working with foreign students, namely the United States. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to analyse the organisational structure of the system of social and pedagogical support of foreign students in higher education institutions in the United States at the initial historical stage. The methods of analysis, synthesis, and generalisation were used during the research. Also, for a more effective study of social and pedagogical and infrastructural development of the adaptive training system of foreign students, a method of chronological coordinates was developed. The stage from which it is necessary to begin the study of the history of the system of foreign student support is highlighted, namely the period of 1911-1920, marked as organisational and constitutive. It is revealed that the stage is characterised by the emergence of the primary foundations of the counselling centre for the support of foreign students; the creation of the first structured national associations of foreign students and the adoption of fundamental legislative initiatives that provided the development of the support system. It is substantiated that the process of structuring the support system in the United States should be considered after 1919 (defined by the author as a period of diachronic- synchronous unity) when the Institute of International Education was established. The practical significance of the study lies in the first systematisation of historical material and its presentation as an organisational and constitutive stage. The presented results of the research can be practically applied in the process of preparation of lecture material on the history of social work in the USA and the world; in the framework of public and non-profit organisations

Abstract:
This community service program is motivated by a number of incidents that have befallen Indonesian citizens staying abroad. Most of the cases could be attributable to one single factor: the lack of information about the rules and regulations in the foreign country. This lack could have been compensated by requesting for consular assistance from the local KBRI (the Indonesian Embassy) or KJRI (the Indonesian Consul General) as well as getting information from the local citizens. This activity is done to High School Grade 3 students because after graduating from high school they have an opportunity to go abroad, either to continue education, work, or for recreation. By providing legal counseling and English training they will be better prepared if the plan to go the country is done. The method employed in this program was providing counsel to Indonesian citizens on the roles of KBRI and KJRI as well as instruction on useful English expressions that they will need if they are involved in any incidents in another country. This program was effective as the target participants were the twelfth-grade students who might want to go abroad for a number of reasons such as studying, working or going on vacation. It took place in the Tangerang Regency, the province of Banten, where such program had never been provided for the participants. It is suggested that future programs should include simulations and role plays, e.g. talking to immigration officers in a foreign country.

Abstract:
International marriages between Korean men and foreign women from other Asian countries have been increasing since the late 1990s in Korea. This study examines the mediating effects of parenting self-efficacy, career-specific parenting behaviors, and school adjustment on the relationship between immigrant mothers’ acculturative stress and their adolescent children’s career decidedness. Data were collected from 1181 third grade students (583 boys, 598 girls) in Korean middle schools and their foreign mothers who participated in the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study. A structural equation modeling analysis revealed the following multiple mediation process: immigrant mothers’ acculturative stress is indirectly related to their adolescent children’s career decidedness through (1) the dual mediation of parenting self-efficacy and career-specific parenting behaviors; (2) the serial mediation of parenting self-efficacy, career-specific parenting behaviors, and adolescents’ school adjustment; (3) the dual mediation of parenting self-efficacy and adolescents’ school adjustment; and (4) the mediation of adolescents’ school adjustment. This study provides directions for parent education and career counseling to enhance immigrant mothers’ parenting competence and support the positive career development of adolescents from multicultural families. The study, therefore, helps them grow into well-adjusted adults in Korean society, which, in turn, contributes to the well-being of immigrant mothers and their adolescent children.

Abstract:
Ensuring quality training for qualified teachers is one of the priorities of national education. The purpose of this article is to analyse and systematize the conditions for the formation of foreign language communicative competence, which make it possible to implement the aims of reforming and modernizing the professional training of future primary school teachers. An important component of ensuring the practical implementation of the professional training for future primary school teachers is to determine the organizational and methodological conditions that help increase the levels of the above-mentioned competence, indicated in the article. During the survey, experts were asked to rank 18 specific organizational and methodological conditions aimed at forming foreign language communicative competence. The study revealed certain organizational and methodological conditions: 1) creating a foreign language professionally oriented interactive educational environment as a means of increasing the motivation of foreign languages professional training; 2) interdisciplinary integration of foreign language education content based on the systematic updating and modernization of future primary school teachers’ professional training; 3) activation of students’ foreign language communicative activity by developing critical and creative thinking; 4) ensuring the constant foreign language support for pedagogical practices. The principles and exercises proposed in the article contribute to the organization of such an educational process that will ensure the achievement of a high level of communicative competence of chinese students, the author considers certain didactic techniques that allow achieving a high level of formation of foreign-language communicative competence, neutralization of passion and psychological barrier («psychological counseling», debates, «brainstorming», «fun pictures», comic dialogues, thematic autostoritelling, «black box», «director himself», roleplaying games, «lexical physical education», etc.). The article notes that the main way to overcome this is to use means, methods and techniques in the process of training based on the pedagogical impact of humor, the use of which should become an integral component of the process of teaching chinese students of oral speech and be consistently implemented in all aspects of this process: in the speech behavior of the teacher, in the selection of didactic material, in the typology of the proposed tasks. The author justifies the concept of lessons in colloquial speech as an «encyclopedia of life» and the need to expand the outlook of students by providing them with new information from the field of «background knowledge», not only aimed at expanding the lexical base, but also containing interesting information about psychological and cultural phenomena.

Abstract:
Abstract In the article, the defined problem has been justified and the significance of studying foreign experience in training future technology and engineering teachers in the USA has been determined. Particular attention has been paid to explanation of methods and forms of organization of future technology and engineering teachers’ training in the USA. The authors have considered Education Technology Standards, developed by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), that are used as reference points and determine the minimum amount of training as well as electives. In addition, there have been outlined such training techniques as microteaching, reflective teaching, the simulation method that allow involving the students into real teaching rather than role-playing; decrease complexity of pedagogical actions through ensuring acquisition of specific skills needed for the teacher in order to form experience of pedagogical interaction. It has been found out that in order to prove themselves during the first year of study in a higher education institution the students create their own web pages and portfolios that consist of working portfolio, showcase portfolio and documentation portfolio. It has been established that mini courses are actively used to help future technology and engineering teachers acquire necessary pedagogical skills. Based on analysis of the research findings, the authors have concluded that counseling or mentoring as forms of training greatly contribute to personal development of both students and their mentor as well as effective collaboration between school and university staff. It has been identified that enhancing effectiveness of teaching practice in American higher education institutions ensures involving clinical professors who monitor, guide and assess teaching practice of future specialists.

Abstract:
Background. Many long-term adolescent and adult learners experience persistent academic underachievement in English in spite of many years of schooling. Students pertaining A2 level can be classified as Limited English- Proficient Learners who have not acquired English proficiency as required by the university, state and European guidelines. Research aim was to analyse the perceptions of underachieving students of reasons of their failure to gain English language proficiency of the required level aiming at increasing the knowledge on the problem and providing possible solutions for improvement. Methods. Participants’ perceptions of their underachievement reasons were elicited through individual unstructured in-depth interviews. Data analysis occurred concurrently with data collection using grounded theory as a method for analysing the data. Member checks with several research participants, reflexive journaling and peer debriefing were also utilized to ensure trustworthiness of the study . Results. The examination of interview transcripts revealed two big themes concerning the students’ underachievement in the English language: internal and external causes for being limited English-proficient learner. External causes were conditions for learning English at school and at the university: poor learning in primary grades, underestimated value of knowing and learning English at school, inadequate conditions for informal learning, and poor organization of English lessons. University factors mentioned were too few contact hours for English classes, inconvenient time-table, and lack of time due to other activities. Internal factors were fear to look unacceptable (resulting in the inactivity in the classes), lack of self-confidence, too much self-criticism, laziness, procrastination, finding faults with others, inadequate perception of the course, poor attitudes towards the course, lack of internal motivation, rating the module of English as a second-rate course, not knowing how to learn the language, and, what is most important, absence of self-study skills. Conclusions. Internal factors conditioning underachievement in the English language proved to be much more important than the external ones. Poor self-esteem, lack of motivation and poor attitudes towards the course suggest the need of the individualization of teaching/learning and psychological counselling. Lack of self-study skills can predict poor academic achievements in other university courses, which could result in drop-outs. This suggests the need of coaching students in learning skills. The collected data show that the teacher also plays a crucial role in language learning, however, the wider societal, cultural and psychological context should be articulated in further possible research as well. Study programmes at tertiary level should be designed to encourage both internal and external motivation of students to study foreign languages as an indispensable factor for developing a full-rate personality.
