Abstract:
The term stress is mentioned in daily life to the extent that we can say that stress has become an integral part of modern human life. Like the rest of the population, even athletes are not spared to the stress and its consequences. Stress is usually mentioned in negative context, and most people think that stress is negative phenomenon. The key concept for understanding what impact stress has on the emotions, behavior and performance of athletes, becomes stress overcoming, since the prevailing opinion that stress does not induce disorders, but the ways how people cope with stress. The aim of this paper is to present the basic theoretical issues related to stress and coping with stress in sport.

Abstract:
Occupational stress is drawing the attention of an increasing number of authors who deal with psychology of work and organization. Unlike old, "industrial" definitions of stress at work, modern ones put the emphasis on the psychological aspects of work which have adverse effects on the employee's mood, motivation and general health condition. Therefore, more attention is dedicated to the approach of superiors, interpersonal relations and balance between private and business life, as well as traditional effects of monotony, work conditions and opportunities for advancement. The author establishes an expertise base about stress by presenting and analyzing the results of numerous scientifically relevant studies on the topic of stress at work, thus familiarizing students, researchers and practitioners with the most important postulates, observations and implications for treating consequences of stress. Moreover, stress as one of the most current issues of modern era is increasingly positioning itself in the centre of the work context through problematic interpersonal relations, conflict or confusing work roles and insufficient or inadequate reward. The author finishes his book/textbook with the chapter about stress measurement methods and techniques, which will be crucial in proving the presence and toxic effects of stress, and in treating stress-related occupational diseases in the future.

Abstract:
Abstract Drought stress has been heavily investigated for its effects on production efficiency and yield, but less attention has been given to its effects on peanut quality. Peanuts (Florunner cv) were stressed for 30 days, by withholding irrigation and using shelters, at the pre-flowering period (stressl), pod formation period (stress2), and maturation period (stress3). Fatty acid composition, oleic linoleic ratio (O/L), computed iodine value (IV) and tocopherol content of Florunner peanuts were investigated. The fatty acid composition acid composition, O/L ration, IV, alpha-tocopherol (α-T) and gamma-tocopherol (γ-T) were significantly affected by drought stress and peanut grade. As peanuts increased in size regardless of stressing period, long chain saturated fatty acids [arachidic acid (20:0), behenic acid (22:0), and lignoceric acid (24:0)], eicosenoic acid (20:1), (O/L), and α-tocopherol decreased significantly. Stressing peanuts during the maturation period is most detrimental to peanut stability, decreasing O/L ratio and increasing IV.

Abstract:
A cross-cultural comparisonof perceived stress and self-efficacy across Japanese, U.S. and Lithuanian students Konstantinas Kononovas, Theodora Dallas SummaryA sample of 138 university students across Japan (45), Lithuania (50) and USA (43) were surveyed in order to compare their cultural orientations, self-efficacy and perceived stress levels. It was predicted that cultural orientations might differently affect participants’ levels of perceived stress and self-efficacy. Specifically, collectivists would have higher levels of stress and lower levels of self-efficacy in comparison with individualists. This study found that US students scored higher on individualistic scales, self-efficacy, and lower on perceived stress. In contrast, Lithuanian students had lower results on individualistic scales, self-efficacy, and higher on perceived stress. Lastly, Japanese students had significantly different results in comparison with Americans and in some cases with Lithuanians, scoring higher on collectivistic scales, perceived stress, and lower on self-efficacy. The implications of these results require an explanatory examination of the relationship between self-efficacy, stress and cultural orientations. Keywords: cultural orientations, individualism, collectivism, self-efficacy, stress.

Abstract:
The paper deals with the issues of word stress in Megrelian. In the scientific literature there is no common view regarding the position and nature of stress in Megrelian. Our study is based on experimental analysis. The experiment has revealed that in Megrelian, in two-syllable and three-syllable words the stress is on the initial syllable. However, in some case the stress falls on the penultimate syllable in three-syllable words. As for four-syllable words, the stress is on the antepenult though our experiment did not confirm the presence of the secondary stress. In five-syllable words the primary stress falls on the second syllable and the secondary stress is on the penultima. In six-syllable and seven-syllable words the primary stress is on the second syllable but in six-syllable words the secondary stress is on the antepenult while in seven-syllable words the secondary stress falls on the fourth syllable. The results of our research are also important in terms of teaching Megrelian.

Abstract:

Abstract:
A diverse combination of biotic and abiotic pressures makes up the environment that plants naturally inhabit. These pressures cause similarly complicated responses in plants. The purpose of the review is to critically evaluate the effects of various stress stimuli on higher plants with an emphasis on the typical and distinctive dose-dependent responses that are essential for plant growth and development. In order to improve agricultural productivity, breed new salt-tolerant cultivars, and make the most of saline land, it is essential to comprehend the mechanisms underlying plant salt tolerance. Soil salinization has emerged as a global problem. Locating regulatory centres in complex networks is made possible by systems biology techniques, enabling a multi-targeted approach. The goal of systems biology is to organise the molecular constituents of an organism (transcripts, proteins, and metabolites) into functioning networks or models that describe and forecast the dynamic behaviours of that organism in diverse contexts. This review focuses on the molecular, physiological, and pharmacological mechanisms that underlie how stress affects genomic instability, including DNA damage. Additionally, a summary of the physiological mechanisms behind salt tolerance, including the removal of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and osmotic adjustment, has been provided. The salt overly sensitive (SOS), calcium-dependent protein kinase (CDPK), mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPKs), and abscisic acid (ABA) pathways are the four main signalling pathways for stress. According to earlier research, salt stress causes harm to plants by inhibiting photosynthesis, upsetting ion homeostasis, and peroxiding membranes. listed a few genes that are sensitive to salt stress and correspond to physiological systems. The review describes the most recent tactics and procedures for boosting salt tolerance in plants. We can make predictions about how plants will behave in the field and better understand how they respond to different levels of stress by understanding both the positive and negative aspects of stress responses, including genomic instability. The new knowledge can be put to use to enhance crop productivity and develop more resilient plant kinds, ensuring a consistent supply of food for the global population, which is currently undergoing rapid expansion.

Abstract:
Stress is one of the most significant and widespread medical and social problems in the world and it is the etiological factor in 80% of diseases. In the modern world any person is subject to the influence of stress, regardless of the age and gender differences, culture and social status. Stress is a non-specific reaction of the body to the extreme impact of various factors - stressors. As stressors can be: emotional, social, physical, informational and other factors. In functional and morphological terms, stress is manifests itself as a general adaptation syndrome which mobilizes the body’s resources in order to maintain homeostasis. Stress is characterized by staging. The early period of stress is manifested by transient anxiety, with a decrease in body resistance – it is the first stage of the adaptation syndrome. The second stage of stress is characterized by the functional tension of the body’s systems and adaptation to new conditions. In the case of prolonged stress, the body’s reaction becomes pathological, with the depletion of adaptive reserves and the failure of protective mechanisms. At this stage is increase a vulnerability to any stressors. There is a further violation of the consistency of vital functions, and persistent anxiety is formed. In overwhelming majority of cases, stress-induced anxiety is develop of psychovegetative syndrome. In the case when combined the strategies of coping (it is the second stage of the reaction to stress - the stage of resistance) with stress and if it is interrupted at an early stage, in such a way the somatic symptoms are also interrupted at the stage of autonomic dystonia syndrome. When the persistent stress is, we have a development of the third stage – exhaustion. And against the background of limited adaptive reactions, there is a psychosomatic pathology. The above determines the need for early detection of psychovegetative syndrome and its timely treatment. The optimal choice is the appointment of combined drugs for stress, which have anti-anxiety, sedative and hypnotic effects. The combination of phenobarbital and ethylbromisovalerinate is one of the highly effective and widely used for the relief of stressinduced anxiety and manifestations of autonomic dysfunction, reducing the risk of developing psychosomatic pathology.
