Abstract:
La Terapia Psicoanalitica infantile breve (PaCT) prevede 20-25 sedute psicoterapeutiche condotte in diversi setting (genitori e bambino insieme; bambino e genitori separatamente).

Abstract:

This article investigates the emotive potency of horror soundtracks. The account illuminates the potency of aural elements in horror cinema to engage spectators body in the light of a philosophical framework of emotion, namely, the embodied appraisal theories of emotion. The significance of aural elements in horror cinema has been gaining recognition in film studies. Yet it still receives relatively scarce attention in the philosophical accounts of film music and cinematic horror, which tend to underappreciate the power of horror film sound and music in inducing emotions. My investigation aims both to address the lacuna, and facilitate dialogue between the two disciplines.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Employing emotive words in news writing is one of the most common strategies in today’s newspaper reporting. Emotive words are usually used in writings to evoke readers’ emotion on the subject. It is important for a reader to be aware of this phenomenon so they would not be easily manipulated by provoking news articles. However, in Malaysia where the news media is still being controlled strictly by regulations and ethics, are emotive words the commonly employed strategy by journalists? This study intends to discover the usage of emotive words in news reporting in Awani News. The data for this study are the ‘viral’ news articles on one of the social media, Twitter. The tweets with mass number of engagements were taken and the article from the link attached with those tweets were analysed. From the analysis, the researcher found that generally, Awani News was able to keep their objectivity in reporting the news article but not in the headlines. However, there were also some instances where the news channel used emotive words heavily in their news reporting. Out of 14 news articles analysed, there were 13 headlines that contained emotive words/phrases and 32 emotive words/phrases within the news articles. But, the employment of emotive words in the news articles is not even as there are news articles that have 9 emotive words/phrases and there are also news articles that do not contain any of them.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
The expression of an emotional state is a main feature that distinguishes fiction from other literary trends. The problem of emotivity is now among the most discussed issues in anthropocentric linguistics, but despite the researchers’ great attention, many of its aspects are still debatable. In the present research, features of the language transfer of emotions are investigated in the translation of fiction from English into Russian. The novel «Howl’s moving castle» by Diana Wynne Jones (1986) was selected as a material for monitoring the process of translating emotive vocabulary. Authors sought to classify the emotive vocabulary in an artistic work, and also consider and analyze the translation of this lexicon into Russian that was translated by Jones (2013). The following methods were used to solve tasks: A comparative analysis of the translation with original text, and transformational, quantitative, statistical analysis. The theoretical basis of research included classifications of emotive vocabulary that was proposed by Shakhovski (2008), and the classification of emotions by Izard (2007), as well as the classification of translational transformations by Barkhudarov (1975) and Komissarov (1990). The theoretical significance of research lies in the fact that the text emotivity phenomenon is considered according to the comparative linguistics, in general, and the theory of translation in particular. The equivalence of concepts of equivalence and adequacy of translation is justified and clearly demonstrated. The practical value of study is determined by the possibility of applying its results in the artistic translation, in teaching the methodology of translation, in development of didactic manuals on the theory and practice of translation, in the teaching English at senior courses of universities on practical lessons and seminars in special courses.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Positive psychology is concerned with identifying, measuring, and enhancing human strengths and is a complementary framework for the deficit-based medical model. While the pathogenic paradigm focuses on why and how illness occurs, the salutogenic paradigm focuses on the origins and development of health and wellness, and looks at the functioning of the individual in various life circumstances. Of particular interest within this paradigm are theories which focus on individual’s resilience, as the ability to maintain psychological well-being even when exposed to trauma or adversity. The general aim of this research is the integration and systematization of scientific knowledge regarding the nature of resilience by critically evaluating the more recent literature and systematically analyzing and integrating the components at the basis of this process. Specifically, we first explored and assessed the extent to which the five components of Model ERAAwC of Relational Competence Theory (RCT, L’Abate, 2011), that is Emotionality, Rationality, Action, Awareness and Context, can explain the strengths and abilities that produce, enhance and even reduce resilience. Then, as the emotional and awareness component empirically emerged as prevalent, we further investigated their contribution to resilience in light of the Broaden and Built Theory of Positive Emotion by Tugate and Fredrickson (2004) and the mechanisms behind the use of positive and negative emotions according to the Dynamic Model of Affect (Zautra, 2002, 2003). Finally, building on Bonanno (2004) we collected evidences that multiple and sometimes unexpected pathways to resilience exist. We have both theoretically and empirically explored the theoretical contribute of Relational Competence Theory (RCT, L’Abate, 1995), the Broaden-and Built Theory (Tugade & Fredrickson, 2007), The Dynamic Model of Affect (Zautra, 2004), the Coping and Emotion Flexibility paradigm (Bonanno, 2011), and the Multiple Trajectories of Outcome Approach (Bonanno, 2008) to resilience research in numerous studies and reached agreement on the definition of resilience as “relational”. We have empirically examined its interpersonal, emotional and cognitive components, the processes that promote and break resilience, and the heterogeneity of responses (outcomes) to potential trauma across several studies, samples, measures and methodologies: 1) The influence of emotional and relational resources on parenting quality (N = 324), 2) Resilience and its shielding effect on relationship quality and life satisfaction (N = 318), 3) Relational Resilience and Pro-social behavior in adults (N = 339), 4) The effects of Resilience on substance abuse and treatment (N = 429). This work intends to make an innovative and advanced contribution to the field with an integrated, theoretically and empirically grounded understanding of resilience that may be used to develop preventative intervention models in various contexts. Importantly, investigating resilience as a relational construct result in specific assessment and intervention strategies aimed at assisting both individual and families in managing the turbulences and transitions of their life stages as well as unexpected potentially traumatic events

The purpose of this research project is to examine the role of parenting, and the parental emotional styles on children’s callous-unemotional traits (CU traits). Particularly, the study aims to investigate the association between parenting and children's behavioral and emotional difficulties, considering the co-occurring role of parental feelings and emotional styles in early childhood. In so doing, the current research takes into account not only variables strictly connected to parenting practices but also focused specifically on affective dimensions of parenting.

Abstract:

The Effect of Still Thoughts Program on the Positive Emotion of Grade-5 Elementary School Students Abstract This study is aimed to discuss the effect for Still Thoughts Program to elementary school students’positive emotion. This study adopts the quasi-experimental research method and base on unequal groups design of pretest and posttest test, and use quality data for auxiliary. The objects of this study included two classes from grade 5 students in an elementary school. They were divided into experimental group and controlled group by randomly. After receiving the pretest, the experimental group received a ten-week, two lessons each week (40 minutes each lesson) Still Thoughts Program, and the controlled group received a general teaching. After that, they were given a posttest. In this study, the quantitative and qualitative statistics were both analyzed. For quantitative statistics, the study use Chang-Ya-Zhen’(2003) “Positive emotions scale for elementary school children” as tools of research. The scale divided into four aspect: pleasure, contentment, self-confidence and empathy. Then with scores obtained in the pretest as covariation, and the quantitative data are analyzed by the one-way ANCOVA. In addition, the qualitative data are also collected by the program assignments , feedback and observation records for auxiliary, in order to understand the effect of Still Thoughts Program to elementary school students’ positive emotion. The findings of this study are as the following: 1.Accepted the Still Thoughts Program, the fifth-grade students have an overall positive emotion enhancing effect, the total scale and the "pleasure", "Contentment" level to promote a particularly significant effect. 2.Accepted the Still Thoughts Program, the fifth-grade students have an overall positive mood enhancing effect, but in the "confidence" and "empathy" less than significant level, promotion effectiveness. 3.the implementation of Still Thoughts Program, students are expressed as positive emotions, the preasure, contentment, confidence and empathy respect have been well increase. 4.Overall, the students love and affirm the Still Thoughts Program, parents confirm and support the Still Thoughts Program, and class solidarity also because of the program courses to upgrade. Finally, according to the study result ,the researcher conducted a discussion and analysis, and hoped to afford the useful suggestions related to practical applications for the teaching of school and future studies.

Abstract:
After a brief discussion of the nature of emotion, I argue that emotions can be morally virtuous or vicious independently of their associated overt behaviors. They are relevant to moral character by manifesting our underlying moral cares and concerns. I then defend two important features of the account: First, though emotions play an important part of being a virtuous person, particular emotions are not necessary for being morally virtuous. In particular, I discuss the moral relevance of emotional defects associated with autism and psychopathy. Second, I argue that emotions can be morally virtuous even when they are irrational. This best explains cases where irrational emotions still reflect well on one’s moral character. These features allow for cultural and individual variation between morally virtuous people.

Abstract:
By combining long-term field research with hypotheses from the cognitive sciences, this book proposes a groundbreaking anthropological theory on the emotional power of music. It hig hlights a human tendency to engage in empathic relations through and with the musical artifacts, veritable “sonic agents” for which we can feel pity, compassion, or sympathy. The theory originates from a detailed ethnography of the musical life of a small Roma community of Transylvania (Romania), where Filippo Bonini Baraldi lived several years, seeking an answer to intriguing questions such as: Why do the Roma cry while playing music? What lies behind their ability to move their customers? What happens when instrumental music and wailing voices come together at funerals? Through the analysis of numerous weddings, funeral wakes, community celebrations, and intimate family gatherings, the author shows that music and weeping go hand in hand, revealing fundamental tensions between unity and division, life and death, the self and others—tensions that the Roma enhance, overemphasize, and perceive as central to their identity. In addition to improving our understanding of a community still shrouded in stereotypes, this book is an important contribution for research on musical emotion, which thus far has focused almost exclusively on western classical music.

In this chapter we focus on mobile-emotive rituals of affirmation and intensification. Loss can be viewed as a disruption in identity. Mobile media are used as a means to affirm the role that the deceased played in the bereaved person’s life. Mobile media are also used to intensify connections between people who share a common identity. The mobile phone itself serves as a linking object, in that the lost loved ones can seem as though they are still present. Mobile-emotive rituals are discussed as extensions of traditions and of self. This chapter draws on fieldwork in the United States to demonstrate the ways in which users utilize social and mobile media to express collective social identities and the significance of others.

Abstract:
If discourse, emotion, criticism, culture all intersect with the concept of ideology and claim it for their own, can politics still declare a prior vested interest in ideology? Can ‘ideology’ still be employed as shorthand for political ideology? This ‘Conclusion: why politics can't do without ideology’ makes the case for its core role in political ideology. Why is ideology central to the domain of politics? Four features make it central: its typical forms in which ideologies are presented; its influential kinds of political thought; its instances of imaginative creativity; and the necessity that ideologies need to be communicable.

The conclusion summarizes the main aims of the book. Even though shame can be a painful and damaging emotion, we would still not be better off without it. A continued liability to shame shows that we accept that we are not always the people we think we are, but accepting this fact is a sign of moral maturity. Additionally, this conclusion raises questions about moral philosophy’s commitment to positive moral psychology. Although some philosophers have defended negative emotions, the field as a whole still treats positive feelings as better and more desirable than negative feelings. But it is reasonable to ask whether moral agents should try to be “emotional saints.”

This chapter looks at image by focusing on the depiction of photojournalists and television journalists. Critiques of the press often warn of the dangers of manufactured image and spin, as with political events that are orchestrated for the camera. Still, others have pointed to the power of visual images to evoke empathy and emotion and appeal to the imagination, whereas many professionals and educators argue that photojournalism and TV journalism at their best serve journalism's self-proclaimed devotion to truth and social responsibility. Popular culture dramatizes both perspectives on those journalistic professions: they can either help present a picture of the world as it really is, or they can promote lies and fluff over reality and substance.

Abstract:
AbstractJournalists around the world have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, media houses have had to make drastic adjustments to the impact of challenges wrought by the pandemic on their operations. Ghanaian media houses also faced similar challenges and disruptions. News reporters and journalists felt the impact of these disruptions with many Ghanaian journalists losing their jobs. This study used affective-emotive theoretical perspective to examine how the possibility of contracting COVID-19 could affect or trigger emotions of fear and anxiety among Ghanaian journalists. The study set two main objectives (1) what workplace safety policies and protocol guidelines were established in newsrooms to mitigate the spread of the virus and (2) to what extent did journalists fear for the safety and well-being of close family members because of their journalism work. The study conducted in-depth unstructured interviews with five journalists who had recovered from the COVID-19 infections. The study found that despite high degrees of fear and anxiety among respondents about on-assignments and workplace infections, respondents still maintained ‘emotional detachment’ to attain objectivity in news reporting. Respondents also expressed high degrees of fear of exposing family members to the virus.

Abstract:
AbstractIn this chapter, focusing on the position of the concept of morality, we briefly review the evolution of the field of social movements from the first formulations of the phenomena of protest, mass, and collective action in classical sociology, through the formation of social movement studies as proper field of research in the 1970s, to its contemporary state. We argue that while morality was central to the classical tradition’s understanding of movements, it lost prominence when the field was established, and still today, morality does not receive much attention. There are, of course, notable exceptions like the work of Jeffrey Alexander, Hans Joas, and the new social movement tradition in Europe. Relatively recently, morality has received increasing attention from scholars studying movements from the perspective of culture. We discuss the role of morality in three of the most prominent theories in this tradition, namely, collective identity, frame alignment, and emotion theory. We argue that they all present promising avenues for developing our understanding of morality and movements while we also point to limitations and inadequacies in each theory or the way they have been applied. We then turn to the constructive work of reorganizing the concept of morality’s relationship with civic action and social movement by developing three dimensions of morality that we argue which are of particular relevance to social movements: selves in interaction, rationalization and justification, and culture and tradition. We trace each dimension from its origin in moral philosophy through its formulation in classical sociology and finally into contemporary theories of civic action. Before closing, we reflect on how the different dimensions intersect and can be applied to the analysis of contemporary empirical cases of social movements and political protest.

Abstract:
The men interviewed described four main types of relationships with male sexual partners. First were casual, sex-only relationships that provided comfort, convenience, and security, but no deep or lasting emotional ties. Second were genuine friendships. They involved activities other than sex, including talking about politics over coffee, hunting, camping, and even going on dinner dates together with their wives. The third form was deeply intimate but nonromantic friendships, which were more intimate than most friendships but less involved than romantic connections. These involved extensive time commitments, unprotected sex, or sexual exclusivity as far as sex with men was concerned. The final category was romantic relationships involving love. Regardless of relationship type, all of the men engaged in emotion work to prevent attachments that would have affected other parts of their lives, especially their romantic relationships with women. The few who did experience feelings of love toward men set tight boundaries for those relationships or eventually cut them off. None sought to leave their women partners to romantically partner with a man. By regulating the emotions they felt toward men and channeling romantic sentiments towards women, the men interviewed formed relationships compatible with rural and small-town straight culture.

Abstract:
Previous literature has examined the significance of emotional consumer experiences increasingly pursued by consumers. However, the current knowledge of emotional responses in real-time and real-world consumption settings is still limited. Emotions have previously been measured with observation, self-report, and physiological methods. Digitalization and technological development have, however, advanced these methods as individuals now engage in various self-tracking practices. The chapter introduces emotion tracking as an additional means for measuring emotions. One application, the Emotion Tracker®, was tested by students (n=19) who tracked their emotions (n=617) related to various consumer experiences and reported their user experiences in research diaries. Emotion tracking facilitated real-time and real-world emotion measurement by partly combining the strengths and diminishing the weaknesses of traditional methods. The future of emotion measurement is likely to lie in the combination of subjective and objective self-tracking practices embedded in individuals' everyday lives.

Abstract:
This chapter contains the argument against the unity of the virtues, which presupposes that the virtues are not unified and vindicates anti-imperialism about virtue. It describes the unity of the virtues that was more or less universally affirmed in ancient ethics and notes that the dominant tendency in contemporary moral philosophy is to reject it. It also sketches a position on the interrelation of the virtues that avoids the falsity of the unity thesis, while still salvaging some of its more attractive aspects. The chapter focuses on the thesis that one cannot have one virtue without having all of the others. It elaborates that if there is any one virtue that a person lacks, then it follows that this person does not have any of the other virtues.

This chapter offers a depiction of a contemporary dystopian reality unfolding in Sri Lanka, considering the experiences of Muslim women living within a highly oppressive and dangerous new reality. It investigates the sources of resistance, community, and intimacy as a means to challenge the present as subjects look toward the future. It also looks ahead with feet firmly planted in the present, offering ways to make sense of the present as transitional rather than static. The chapter highlights the importance of engaging with the affective dimension of politics in contemporary Sri Lanka to bring into conversation two separate bodies of literature. First, the anthropological literature that has highlighted the role that ritual and myth have played in grounding and sustaining past political violence in Sri Lanka and second, the theoretical work that has sought to trace the role that emotion plays in politics of domination, exclusion, oppression, and resistance.

Abstract:
‘The evolution of emotion’ argues that emotions were—and still are—vital for survival. Ever since Plato, many Western thinkers have tended to view emotions as obstacles to intelligent action. We are all familiar with cases in which an excess of emotion prevents people from acting intelligently. The opposite idea—the positive view of emotion—is that emotions are vital for intelligent action. Until recently, this idea had not been popular among philosophers and psychologists, but considerations drawn from evolutionary theory and neuroscience now argue in its favour. The evolution of emotions such as fear, anger, joy, disgust, guilt, love, and revenge are considered along with the relationship between emotions and morality.

Abstract:
This chapter considers a second paradox in the study of music and emotion: Some scholars regard ‘expression’ as something vague and flexible — almost idiosyncratic. In contrast, other authors seem to view expression as something far more precise, something for which terms like agreement and accuracy seem appropriate. To resolve this paradox, one must look closer at what different scholars could possibly mean when they say that music is expressive of a specific emotion — or, more importantly, how they measure it. Even if we limit ourselves to the listener's side of the equation, and focus purely on perceived (as opposed to felt) emotion, there are still many different ways of approaching this phenomenon empirically.

Abstract:
Automatic classification problems are common in the music information retrieval domain. Among those we can find the automatic identification of music genre and music mood as frequently approached problems. The labels related to genre and mood are both generated by humans, according to subjective experiences related to each individual’s growth and development, that is, each person attributes different meanings to genre and mood labels. However, because both genre and mood arise from a similar process related to the social surroundings of an individual, we hypothesize that they are somehow related. In this study, we present experiments performed in the Emotify dataset, which comprises audio data and genre and mood-related tags for several pieces. We show that we can predict genre from audio data with a high accuracy; however, we consistently obtained low accuracy to predict mood tags. Additionally, we tried to use mood tags to predict genre, and also obtained a low accuracy. An analysis of the feature space reveals that our features are more related to genre than to mood, which explains the results from a linear algebra viewpoint. However, we still cannot find a music-related explanation to this difference.

Abstract:
Conversational Causal Emotion Entailment aims to detect causal utterances for a non-neutral targeted utterance from a conversation. In this work, we build conversations as graphs to overcome implicit contextual modelling of the original entailment style. Following the previous work, we further introduce the emotion information into graphs. Emotion information can markedly promote the detection of causal utterances whose emotion is the same as the targeted utterance. However, it is still hard to detect causal utterances with different emotions, especially neutral ones. The reason is that models are limited in reasoning causal clues and passing them between utterances. To alleviate this problem, we introduce social commonsense knowledge (CSK) and propose a Knowledge Enhanced Conversation graph (KEC). KEC propagates the CSK between two utterances. As not all CSK is emotionally suitable for utterances, we therefore propose a sentiment-realized knowledge selecting strategy to filter CSK. To process KEC, we further construct the Knowledge Enhanced Directed Acyclic Graph networks. Experimental results show that our method outperforms baselines and infers more causes with different emotions from the targeted utterance.

Abstract:
Although there are many approaches to decision making, most of them are tools for the Closed World, and you can make decisions before you sail out. But the world we are living in now is an Open World, where there is no chart. We have to make decisions while we are navigating. Economists, Simon and Keynes, say that in a Closed World economic agents make decisions rationally, but in an Open World they rely on emotion. This paper describes that by introducing directed graph and declarative programming techniques, we can simulate emotion-driven decision making. This approach has several advantages. One important one is we can introduce emotion into quality function deployment. Quality is not just function requirements. Quality is nothing other than customers’ expectations. And emotions are closely related to their expectations and satisfactions. Another advantage is that as engineering needs more and more diverse pieces of knowledge, it is becoming increasingly difficult to see the whole picture. But this approach permits decision making in your own way and still meeting customers’ expectations adequately.

Abstract:
fNIRS is a functional neuroimaging technology that measures activations according to the oxygenation and deoxygenation of neural activities. A technique still little used within design, but that can contribute in neurodesign and affective, for example. Although emotions are universal, their way of perceiving and feeling is individual. The emotion design has some gaps, namely the lack of mastery of techniques and knowledge of human responses to emotions. In total, 44 articles were analyzed in a non-systematic way, with the aim to find the advantages and disadvantage of using fNIRS. As conclusion, it was possible to perceive that the fNIRS is a promising neuroimaging technique with 20 advantages points and 13 disadvantages points. The stimuli can be sensorial, cognitive and motor, handled in laboratory, in social environments or in real situations. fNIRS is already used in studies of emotions and can help to investigate the brain activations in the face of emotion processing and the affective design, enabling the possibility to design better experiences, products, services or environments focused on this affective parameter in front of neurocognition. fNIRS is an emerging and promising technique, which can help to understand some gaps in human beings as promote pleasure and well-being.

Abstract:
With the continuous development of interactive technology, informatization has begun to integrate into people's life[1].Having been neglected in history, postpartum depression reminds us that we need to pay attention to maternal emotional needs and prenatal care[2]. In the current situation, it is worth researching the interactive products for prenatal emotional care. According to the survey, it is not difficult to find that some speech emotion and facial expression recognition technologies in artificial intelligence are developing Which have large potential for extensive use.[3,4]. Therefore, it is necessary and feasible to design prenatal emotional diagnosis tools for pregnant women. This study has designed a product to care for pregnant women by identifying their emotional needs through AI recognition technologies. Appropriate prenatal intervention is conducive to the prevention of postpartum depression[5,6] . The use of artificial intelligence recognition technology can provide an appropriate emotional care plan. This can reduce the difficulty of training medical personnel and the difficulty of relatives caring for pregnant women. Therefore, the risk of postpartum depression can be reduced. QUESTIONCollecting opinions and information from previous studies is an important reference for this study. Therefore, this study needs to solve the following problems.1) How to design an artificial intelligence product that can accurately diagnose the emotion of pregnant women?2) How to integrate AI facial emotion recognition technology?3) How to help nurses and their families take care of users more professionally and easily through the information database?4) How to adapt the emotional care program provided by interactive products to different pregnant women? Methods:the research methods of this study are as follows:1) Observing the working process of artificial midwives and psychologists to find Which part can be assisted by machines[7].2) To understand the emotional needs of pregnant women through interview.3) To brainstorm according to the real data collected before and research findings, and then design interactive products that can practically solve the emotional care problems of pregnant women.4) Through the experiment of AI emotion recognition technologies, the feasibility of emotion recognition is verified. CONCLUSIONS:With the continuous development of artificial intelligence, more and more artificial intelligence products have entered our life [1]. This study is aimed to help pregnant women prevent prenatal and postpartum depression and maintain their health through artificial intelligence interaction technologies. This study is exploring the solution under the help of artificial intelligence after studying the problem that prenatal and postpartum emotion are neglected. This design is still in the conceptual design stage, but it seems only a matter of time before this design is applied in the future[8]. REFERENCES:[1]. Lee H S , Lee J . Abstract:
The emotions involved in the learning process, which are in a permanent state of interconnection, can be considered the main factor and/or trigger of the process through each information is acquired by any sensory means. According to the american psychologist P. Ekman, "...emotions are reactions to aspects which seem extremely important to our well-being [...] emotions are created so rapidly in most situations that we still cannot fully understand the triggering mental processes." (Ekman P., 2011, Emotion Revealed. Understanding Faces and Feelings, p.48). On the other hand, "Visual sensations are the result of the interaction between electromagnetic waves and the visual analysis apparatus." (Popescu - Neveanu P., Zlate M., Cretu T., 1995, Psychology, p.31). This article aims to highlight the way in which emotions (even when induced in a controlled manner) act on: ocular movements, facial expressions and postural behaviour, and also the way in which they influence their response. Taking these aspects into account, alongside the idea that: "the cultivation of beneficial emotions plays a role in disease treatment in any medical field" (Salzberg S. apud. Goleman D., 2008,Healing Emotions: Conversation with DALAI LAMA on Mindfulness, Emotions and Health, p.20), the first part of the paper presents the general framework of the concept of emotion, alongside its visual, facial and postural parameters of definition. In the second part of the article the theoretical framework of research is established and the experimental system is presented. The focus is on the influence of controlled emotions on the level of information acquisition (at every one the three levels previously established). The final part of the paper presents the results of conclusions relating to the influence of triggering factor on the responses and the process of data or information acquisition.

Abstract:
Recent brain studies revealed brain and body cannot be separated. Further it revealed blood and muscles play an important role in our information processing. Bike riding is known as a typical example of tacit knowledge. Although there are efforts on how we can change such tacit or somatic/embodied knowledge of ours as this example into explicit one, we have been not so successful. From our past two series of experiments about detection of emotion from face and about calligraphy, we learned acceleration plays a crucial role. This paper attempts to represent somatic/knowledge representation as patterns of position and acceleration. This is still a preliminary study but it may lead us to another way of representing our tacit knowledge and thus we may develop another way of transferring tacit knowledge such as skills, bike riding, etc in the form of patterns of position and acceleration. Mechanical engineering is a tangible engineering. Therefore the author would like to emphasize the importance of exploring how we can represent our somatic/embodied knowledge. This is a very much preliminary step toward that goal.

Abstract:
Although we have the impression that we understand the urban texture in which we live, the city still holds surprises in the way it communicates everyday aspects, situations, and cultural history. The experience of the urban explorer, that flâneur/stroller mentioned by Guy Debord (1955) and the Situationist school, was until recently only a literary experience. The emotion of discovering the unusual in the urban daily life was communicated only in the form of textual narratives (Sinclair, 1997). Recently the psychogeographical approach to the city has become again a topic of interest. Although contemporary design transposed the behavioral codes of urban life into signs, it did not propose emoticons for the phenomenological experience of one who experiences the city. The original purpose of this paper is to translate the phenomenological experience of the urban explorer into infographics (which translates complex concepts into signs with condensed meaning) and to quantify and communicate emotionally and visually, the experience of the "invisible" [out of sight] cultural details to the hurried passerby. This paper will discuss the phenomenological (psychogeographical) experience of the city transferred into visual signs will be presented. The authors insist on the communicative value of infographics in making visible the hidden beauty of the city, the historical and esthetical details that are not seen by the passersby on the street, proposing a new urban visual language accompanied by visual design theory and cultural history explanations.

Abstract:
The studies about anxiety are now integrated in a model which describe the computer anxiety as a component of academic anxiety, defined as emotion, behavior and believes which negatively influences learning performance. Some research concerning students or teachers attitudes towards using computers and the Internet has been performed since the eighties in most countries, but there are still few in Romania. This study presents the relationships between computer anxiety and demographic variables. The research participants are the Romanian college and university students, males and females. The employed tools are Computer Anxiety Rating Scale (Heinssen, Glass, & Knight, 1987) and the Computer self-efficacy Scale ( Compeau & Higgins, 1995). The tools employed for measuring the attitude toward computers includes items which directly measure believes about the effects of using the computer for learning. The participants have filed a questionnaire which includes demographic questions. The data has analyzed using different criteria: gender, age, grade, experience with the computer and Internet, marks. Results indicate differences between the anxiety of students according to their program of study, age and gender. Experience in the use of computers is associated with the anxiety level for this type of technology and mediates gender differences. Greater computer anxiety was associated with lower expectations and poorer task performance. High self efficacy is associated with better results in the use of computers, but also with positive beliefs about some benefits of using it. The results can be used by college and university teachers to manage learning situations, especially, in e-environment.

Abstract:
In recent years, the mechanical dashboard of automobile has evolved into an all-digital one, which has brought the innovation of content display mode and the improvement of related functions. This is because in the transformation of the automotive industry, users have become more focused on the driving experience than before, and they have shifted their focus on car styling and interior design to the human-machine interaction (HMI). As a result, automobile brands on the market have introduced many distinctive HMI designs for dashboard. The author previously cooperated with WM Motor Technology Co., Ltd. to launch a commercial in-vehicle application, which allows the appearance of dashboard to be changed according to the user's emotion and preferences, catering to the individual needs. Nevertheless, in the process of cooperation between the enterprise and designers, the design principles of traditional dashboard are still followed, and there is a lack of suitable design methods of personalized HMI for digital dashboard. Therefore, this paper attempts to create a design method that provides guidance for the aforesaid process. Based on the emotional design theory, it puts forward the principles of aesthetic, usability and experience, and guides designers on how to design and what to avoid from the perspective of user experience. Besides, it also proposes some new ideas for the development of personalized theme design of dashboard, such as customized design service, multi-sensory experience, etc. This paper aims to get more designers and developers involved in the co-creation of dashboard theme design and strive to improve the users’ experience. Additionally, the design thinking method described in this paper can also provide reference for the design of other products.
