Full textSelf-regulation is a vital function to humanity, and is an important factor in the dominant paradigm of consumer research, whereby consumer decisions are characterised by the battle between long- and short-term interests. The current research examined the relative effectiveness of two self-regulatory strategies: stopping an already-commenced consumption episode, or to not commence one at all. Traditional economic theories, including the principle of diminishing marginal utility, would predict that not starting is harder to accomplish; whereas a proposal by Thaler (1983) suggests that not starting is in fact the optimal strategy. Two studies were conducted whereby participants were asked to either perform a less-favoured task and resist from starting a more-favoured one (Not Start), or to cease performing a more-favoured task to complete the less-favoured task (Stop). Study 1 found that Stop was more difficult than Not Start, which tentatively supported Thaler’s argument; however there was an explanation which could not be ruled out, namely the psychological distance of the anticipated second task. Study 2 addressed this issue by manipulating that factor by incorporating it into the experimental design. It was found that Not Start became as depleting as Stop when psychological distance of the second task was reduced. This research contributed to the literature by establishing a boundary condition upon the strength model of self-regulatory resource depletion, and adds to the discussion on the descriptive validity of the principle of diminishing marginal utility.

Full textJag har, i mitt arbete, valt att titta på elevers tankesätt och val av strategier i huvudräkning, sett ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv, för att se hur det står till med huvudräkningen hos dagens elever. Huvudräkning kan ses som en av grundpelarna inom matematiken. Här gäller det att lösa uppgifter i huvudet, utan några hjälpmedel. För göra detta behöver vi ha tillgång till olika strategier, som kan hjälpa oss att välja tillvägagångssätt efter behov. Här har vi mer frihet att välja hur vi ska lösa uppgiften än om vi använder oss av traditionella algoritmer. Det är dock en frihet under ansvar, där det är viktigt att känna till de förutsättningar och regler som finns att tillgå. Det krävs att vi har en god uppfattning om matematikens grunder och dess uppbyggnad. Med hjälp av en litteraturgenomgång och en empirisk undersökning, innehållande kvalitativa intervjuer och praktiskt genomförda uppgifter med elever i år 8, har jag tittat närmare på begreppet huvudräkning, dess vikt samt elevers tankesätt och strategier i huvudräkning. Mina resultat har jag ställt emot en undersökning som gjordes i början av 1980-talet, HÖJMA-projektet, där man inriktade sig mot elever i år 5. Trots det faktum att eleverna inte anser sig arbeta aktivt med huvudräkning i skolan kunde jag ändå se att en utveckling har skett i det strategiska tänkandet och att flertalet elever har utvecklat nya strategier, som kan hjälpa dem att effektivisera sin huvudräkning.

Full textAFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Grondhervorming en dit wat daarmee gepaard gaan, is een van die hoekstene van die normalisering van ons samelewing en is sedert 1994 deel van die transformasieproses. Die huidige regering gaan uit van die oortuiging dat blywende vrede nie verkry kan word sonder dat dié ongelykhede reggestel word nie. Is daar ‘n antwoord op Suid-Afrika se ongelyke grondbesit, en kan kontrakboerdery 'n rol speel in die oorbrugging van die probleme? Een van die belangrikste aspekte van die regstelling van die ongeregtighede van die verlede, is die uitwissing van armoede, en in hierdie verband is Landbou 'n belangrike rolspeler. Ten einde armoede te bestry en werk te skep, moet die toekomstige generasie bemagtig word deur eienaarskap te versprei. Die Wet op Inheemse Grond van 1913, die Inheemse Trust- en Grondwet van 1936, en die Groepsgebiedewet van 1950 het swart Suid-Afrikaners die geleentheid ontneem om plaaseenhede te besit en te bedryf in die blanke gebiede van Suid- Afrika wat, soos ons almal weet, verreweg die grootste gedeelte van die land asook die meer produktiewe boerderygrond uitgemaak het. Die grondhervormingsproses streef om die erfenis van hierdie wette ongedaan te maak. Sedert die Suid-Afrikaanse grondhervormingsprogram in 1994 van stapel gestuur is, heers daar groot debat oor die beleid, implementeringstrategieë en die impak van sodanige pogings op landbougrond, die lewens van die bevoordeeldes, en die Suid-Afrikaanse ekonomie. Met die toename in skaal en kompleksiteit van grondhervorming het dit al hoe moeiliker vir die Regering geword om die proses te monitor en te evalueer. Dit is nou alombekend dat, behalwe vir kwantitatiewe aanwysings, daar baie leemtes bestaan in die inligting oor grondhervorming. In die lig van die veranderende aard van wêreld-landbou- en voedselmarkte en die voortspruitende behoefte vir vertikale integrasie van die voedselverskaffingskettings, het hierdie werkstuk ten doel om die rol van kontrakboerdery as 'n instelling te ondersoek, ten einde die voortgesette deelname te verseker van kleinboere in ontwikkelende lande in die markte vir hoëwaarde produkte. Die klem val spesifiek op die Suid-Afrikaanse omstandighede vir grondhervorming. Die werkstuk bespreek die teoretiese rasionaal van kontrakboerdery, en illustreer hoe dié vorm van boerdery aangewend kan word om markmislukkings en a-simmetriese informasieprobleme te oorkom.
ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Land reform and associated matters are some of the cornerstones of the normalizing of our society and have been part of the transformation process since 1994. The present regime is of the conviction that lasting peace cannot be achieved without such unequalities being addressed. Is there an answer to unequal ownership of land in South Africa, and can contract farming play a role in bridging these problems? One of the most important aspects of the unrighteousness of the past, is poverty and in its eradication, agriculture is an important role player. In order to combat poverty and create jobs, the future generation must be empowered by ownership of the economy. The Indigenous Land Act of 1913, The Indigenous Trust and Land Act of 1936, and the Group Areas Act of 1950 deprived Black South Africans of the opportunity to own and run farming units within the white areas of South Africa that, as we all know, formed by far the largest part of the land as well as the more productive farming land. The land reformation process strives to annul the legacy of those laws. Since the South African land reform program was started in 1994, a heated debate has raged about the policy, implementation stategies, and impact of such efforts on agricultural land, the lives of the beneficiaries, and the South African economy. With the increase in scale and complexity of land reform, it became more and more difficult for the regime to monitor and evaluate the process. It is now common knowledge that, except for qualitative indications, many shortcomings are apparent in the information on land reform. In light of the changing nature of world agricultural and food markets and the subsequent need for vertical integration of the food-supply chains, this study aims at investigating the role of contract farming as an institution, in order to ensure the continued participation of small farmers in developing countries in the markets for high-value products. The emphasis falls specifically on the South African conditions for land reform. This study describes the theoretical rationale of contract farming, and illustrates how this form of farming can be applied to overcome market fiascos and assimmetrical information problems.

Den svenska hotellmarknaden domineras till stor del av utländska aktörer. Stora hotellkedjor som Hilton, som representerar Storbritannien, Accor, som representerar Frankrike är bland de dominerande aktörerna. Bland de nordiska representanterna så är First/Tribe Hotels en organisation som ”sticker ut”. Alla dessa organisationer präglas av den organisationskultur som de uppstod i. De har alla arbetat fram framgångsrika strategier i sina respektive hemland. På den svenska marknaden så är konkurrensen bland dessa hotell är väldigt hög. Företagen försöker att åstadkomma fördelar gentemot sina konkurrenter genom olika strategier och koncept. En viktig del av arbetet är vilka Human resource strategier som används. För oss var det intressant att förstå hur dessa strategier var uppbyggda. Tar de olika hotellen med sig de strategier som de utvecklat i sitt ”hemland” eller anpassar man sig till de strategier som karakteriserar den svenska företagskulturen? Med bakgrund av detta kommit fram till följande problem:
Vilka HR modeller använder de tre stora aktörerna när de agerar på den svenska hotellmarknaden?
Vi har tittat på detta problem genom arbetstagarnas perspektiv och använt oss av en kvalitativ metod. Vi ville först förstå hur organisationskulturen så ut i varje hotells hemland och har därför använt oss av en deduktiv ansats. Vårt syfte var att kartlägga vilka HRM-strategier som används inom den svenska hotellmarknaden. Sedan ska vi undersöka om de aktuella aktörerna har anpassat sina HRM-strategier till den svenska organisationskulturen eller om de använder sig av HRM-strategier som används i deras respektive ”hemländer”.
Vi ansåg att Hofstede arbete om olika organisationskulturer och hans fyra dimensioner (maktdistans, individualism gentemot kollektivism, mannlighet gentemot kvinnlighet och osäkerhetsundvikande) var en bra ”grund” för att kunna upptäcka skillnader i de olika hotellens strategier.
Vår förförståelse bygger på att vi är Hotell & Restaurang studenter och har en viss erfarenhet av branschen. Denna erfarenhet har präglat arbetet på det sätt att vi har haft vissa förutfattade meningar om vilka human resource som används på marknaden. Vi har genomfört semistrukturerade intervjuer med sex stycken respondenter. Vi valde att först transkribera all data som vi samlat in för att sedan sortera ut det data som vi tolkade var relevant för uppsatsen. Genom att vi har tolkat respondenternas svar djupgående för att förstå hur deras arbetssituation såg ut så har vi använt oss av en hermeneutikisk kunskapssyn.
Genom att jämföra våra teoretiska antaganden med det empiriska materialet så har vi kommit fram till att aktörerna på den svenska hotellmarknaden anpassar sig till en stor grad till de svenska human resource strategier som präglas av den svenska organisationskulturen. Den enda avvikelse som vi upptäckte var att under variabeln osäkerhetsundvikande så ansåg vi att Accor präglades av den franska organisationskulturen och hade alltså inte fullt ut anpassat sig till de strategier som präglar det svenska human resource arbetet. Vi anser att vi har uppnått vårt syfte med denna uppsats och idag så har vi en större förståelse om vilka human resource strategier som är framgångsrika på den svenska hotellmarknaden.

Of course, lifelong learning is relevant not only to employees of education among them - teachers and learners, but the general public. As young people graduated from universities not work, they often associate their future with more advanced EU countries, in this way. Their approach to local needs become distorted, and further learning - history. They are trying to suggest that the main obstacle to success - the lack of practical working skills, The auditoria of the current study is 60 high school teachers and 300 students. Full textThe events sector grew up essentially since the 90´s and followed directly the changes and the new paradigms of the tourism industry. (Bowdin, McDonnell, Allen, Harris & O´ Tool, 2003). Facing now an independent and active consumer, which is constantly looking for authentic and original new experiences that can exceed their expectations, events are now more than ever the main factor that distinguishes destinations. Currently, events not only contribute to attract new tourists, but also to show their loyalty to the destination. Strategic management of destinations, along with event tourism and the new consumers constitute the main topics of the literature review of this research. The Algarve region and the “Allgarve” Program were selected at an empirical level. Using the data from a survey conducted on an audience that attended “street artist events” and Pop music concerts in the “Allgarve´11”, questions like loyalty, satisfaction, motivation and perception about the Event´s Program, are the main subjects analyzed. It was also possible to make a description of this audience, as well as their recommendations, suggestions and preferences regarding the “Allgarve” Program. The application of the software “Statistical Package for the Social Sciences” (SPSS) in the analysis of the collected data, allowed the development of several statistical analyses. From the descriptive analyzes of the collected data, it was concluded that despite a low rate of participations in previous editions, satisfaction levels were higher in relation to the lived experience. We also concluded that the audience built a positive image about the Program, recognizing its prestige, attractiveness and capacity, contributing to the growth of Algarve´s cultural offer. The application of Nonlinear Canonical Correlation Analysis (OVERALS) and of the K-Means method, supported the relation between satisfaction and intention to recommend the experience to others, since all of the 191 satisfied interviewees revealed the intention to recommend “Allgarve” Events to family and friends, as well as 111 of them intend to return and participate again. Despite of its flaws, positive conclusions were reached, and after its five editions, the program could finally have been linked to the region’s image, distinguishing it in a whole range of cultural events and entertainment.

Darbe apžvelgiama tikrinių daiktavardžių vieta anglų kalbos gramatikoje, jų funkcijos tekste bei aptariama įvairi jų klasifikacija. Atsižvelgiama į kitų kalbų tikrinių daiktavardžių pateikimo taisykles lietuvių ir lenkų kalbose, kurios gali įtakoja vertėjų pasirinkimą. Kadangi mokslininkai skirtingai įvardija panašias vertimo procedūras, šios analizės pagrindą sudaro Eirlys E. Davis (2003) pasiūlytos strategijos, kuriomis remiantis tikrinių daiktavardžių vertimas Jonas Čeponio „Trise dviračiais“ (2005) lyginamas su Jolanta Plakwicz vertimu „Trzej panowie na rowerach“ (1992) ir Piotr J. Szwajcer „Trzech panów w Niemczech (tym razem bez psa)“ (2007). Atliktos analizės ir statistinių duomenų pagrindu teigiama, jog tiek lietuvių, tiek lenkų kalboje įžvelgiamos tam tikros vertimo tendencijos. Lietuvių vertėjas dažniau tikrinius daiktavardžius pateikia pagal lietuvių kalbos fonetikos ir morfologijos taisykles, todėl lietuvių skaitytojams jų tartis problemų nesukelia. Lenkų skaitytojams dažniau pateikiami tikriniai daiktavardžiai originalia (kitos kalbos) rašyba, kurie tik priderinti prie lenkų kalboje galiojančių linksniavimo dėsnių. Pastebima, jog lietuvių vertėjas dažnai papildomą informaciją pateikia išnašose. Praleistų, sukurtų, globalizuotų ar pakeistų tikrinių daiktavardžių skaičius minėtuose vertimuose yra... The world is currently experiencing the most competitive phase of its history, which is bringing a constant instability to organizational environments. New opportunities and challenges brought by global competition, new technology, and increasing consumers´ knowledge are forcing companies to review their business strategy and planning. Thus, this study has as its main objective the construction of prospective scenarios that will help fruit producers of Campos de Cima da Serra, Rio Grande do Sul, to plan properly, to reduce their investment risks and to assist them in their decision process. This research is characterized as a quali-quantitative study, with exploratory, descriptive, explanatory and conclusive objectives, and the technical research procedures refers to one case study. For the construction of the scenarios, it was used the Grumback methodology, operationalized through the use of the PUMA Software. The results show the identification of ten events, from which were construct three scenarios: the most probable, the ideal and the tendency; representing the most important constribution of this study.

Full textAbstract What is a transformation, and what could it be? How could a strategy for how to approach a transformation project look? I have defined a transformation as the act of taking an existing building and inserting a new program that creates a new reality. There can be many reasons to do a transformation instead of building something new. The most important reason that I have chosen to work with is about capturing the qualities or values that exists in a building and bring them into the new reality and build on them instead of creating whole different values. Values in this case are things like surface area, volumes, height, light conditions, material and details. It is things like the cast concrete stairs and the very special windows in some parts of the building. To me this is the core idea and purpose of any transformation. Because the values that are kept ties the present to the history, and carries and keeps memories and identities. They create continuity in the story of the building. In a transformation a number of mayor conflicts arise because the new program demands values that the existing building lacks. How you chose to solve these conflicts is the most critical and most difficult aspect of any transformation. My transformation is done two steps. The first step is about identifying as much values as possible and trying to bring them into the new program while overlooking the whole. The dwelling was there already, all I had to do was isolate the values and bring them in to the new program. I have kept as much of the existing material as possible to keep the values intact and only added walls to define the new apartments. The result is very particular dwellings; a lot of them have their own entrances, they are spreading out both horizontally and vertically and have sunlight from two directions. This is a safe and rather easy way of keeping values. When these kept dwellings are defined the more difficult conflicts arises that makes the transformation so interesting. The surface areas that remain after I have laid out these kept dwellings are hard to create good dwellings from. I think it’s important that the additions that has to be made in a transformation relates to the building that used to be. Otherwise there´s a great risk that the existing values are destroyed. Relation for me is about picking up things like spatial concepts and concepts relating to form, material or structure. The courtyards that exist today are rarely in use. Courtyards are actually something amazing. They don’t only retract sunlight but also shadow, rain, snow, sounds, foliage, bugs and birds deep into a building. Therefore I have chosen to develop the courtyards that already exists by adding some more. In and around the school there are also several stairs in cast concrete. To create connections I’ve added new similar stairs. A good transformation creates the conditions needed for a new demand, while keeping the most important values in a building and adds to the identity instead of destroying it. My strategy for transformations in two steps is about first bringing certain special values into a new program without considering the building as a whole. Afterwards an addition is created which relates to the existing while solving the conflicts that always arise when doing a transformation. The result in this case is dwellings that are very particular compared to the dwellings which are usually built today. They are not standard flats but dwellings with surface areas, volumes, details and other characteristics that newly built dwellings rarely has.

Full textENGLISH ABSTRACT: Companies are confronted with a global market that is becoming increasingly saturated. With free trade agreements allowing more competition into the traditionally lucrative Western markets and economic recessions impacting the spend-ability of these markets, there is mounting pressure to consider other market opportunities. Statistics reveal that the traditional bottom of the economic pyramid actually contains a potentially very profitable market, with a purchasing power parity of $12.5 trillion. To address this market, prospective companies will have to rethink conventional business strategies, moulded to the specific target market requirements. The gradual shift in focus to the bottom of the economic pyramid, also serves to emphasise the need of sustainable development of impoverished communities. By raising communities out of poverty, they are liberated to partake in trade, respond to opportunities and experience growth in self esteem. Whilst aid organisations play an important role in establishing this freedom, rethinking business processes could result in more sustainable impact on communities. This feeds into the concept of creating a sustainability vision, where the corporate vision should readdress not only the product but also the markets they seIVe. It should direct the company toward the solution of social and environmental problems and meet the unmet needs at the bottom of the economic pyramid. In the context of Africa's geographical, political or social milieu, it is evident that the continent offers unique challenges for engaging in trade. There are various attempts to address these, but Africa is still deemed one of the most difficult environments in which to establish operations. Africa also offers unique opportunities though, for those companies willing to rethink the conventional. Two companies saw the opportunity in malaria, a disease associated with impoverished communities. Africa has the perfect breeding ground for the P. fa/ciparum strain of malaria, which is incidentally also the most lethal. The strain has developed resistance against current medication, which makes it extremely difficult to cure and control. It is estimated that malaria costs African governments up to $12 billion per year and results annually in a penalty of 1.3% less economic growth per person than could be expected in the absence of malaria. The two companies, on different ends of the supply chain, have been reviewed in the light of the defined sustainability vision principles and the context of their strategic operations. Though not without critique, and admittedly still in the early phases of some of their processes, they have demonstrated that the concept of a sustainability vision in the African context is viable and that it is feasible to create wealth whilst serving the poor.

Full textRecent studies gave evidence on how a better understanding of the phenomenon of poverty is achieved by integrating the more traditional concept of cross-sectional poverty with a longitudinal concept. The increasing literature on poverty dynamics deals with the time different individuals spend in poverty and the transitions in and out of poverty. Chapter 1 is a review of the econometrical strategies that have been employed in the literature. The focus is on the econometrical derivation of each model, but I aim also at clarifying the specific research questions each model wants to answer and the related policy implications. As it is a well-established finding that families with children are over-represented at the bottom of the income distribution in many countries as well as that children who grow up in disadvantaged environments are associated with diminished cognitive and social skills, the remaining of the thesis focuses on different dynamics facets of the poverty phenomenon. In particular, Chapter 2 investigates the presence of state dependence in Italian child poverty between 1993 and 2006, while Chapter 3 is an assessment of the effect of particular families oriented policies introduced in Britain in the late 1990s on the duration of poverty experiences.

In Sweden there are a constantly increasing number of shopping centers, which proportionally increases the competition for customers. To meet escalating competition and customer demands, shopping centers have begun diversifying, some quite extensively.The purpose of our study is to examine how the concept affects the design and structure of two different shopping centers in Malmö, Triangelns Köpcentrum and Gallerian Storgatan. We shall also examine how this diversification affects the profile and marketing strategies of these two shopping centers depending on which target groups they aim to obtain.The shopping center owners target different customer groups depending on marketing strategies. Managers try to strengthen their images toward the right customer groups through the use of attractive marketing and profiling policies. Using a correct mixture of tenants creates a harmonic feeling throughout the shopping center and this plays an important roll in attracting the desired customer groups.Gallerian Storgatan wants to attract a smaller target group of customers and therefore has a limited product range, while Triangelns Köpcentrum that wants to attract a larger customer group and therefore has a larger product range. The range of tenants in a shopping center and the placement of shops, cafés and restaurants are strongly influenced by the managers different structuring and design ideas. With this under consideration, we can conclude that the managers are trying to create their own unique concept and profile.

The study of Global Trade Governance leads to questions of regime legitimacy, culminating with the adoption of the 1980 United Nations Vienna Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), recently ratified by Brazil. The analysis of the aforementioned ratification process validates the threshold of game theory as its stands today, and proposes, on the other hand, viable alternatives for the development of the model.

Moden Portfolio Theory (MPT) can be applied to not only security portfolio but also real estate portfolio management. Although now in Taiwan rate of return of real estate investment is not satisfying, but it is still very important how to efficiently manage real estate portfolio. This thesis discuss several real estate portfolio diversification stategies, and we hope the results would contribute to real application. We do the research the following way: First, according to different criteria, we set six stategies: (i) diversification by different types; (ii)diversification by different regions;(iii) diversification by different economic regions; (iv)diversification by umemployment rate; (i) diversification by population growth rate; (ii)diversification by different property sizes. (iv) and (v) is done by cluster analysis. However, real estate data are heterogeneous so we cannot directly use them to calculate rate of return. According to real transcation data from Q1/1994 to Q4/1997, we use hedonic regresiion method to calculate price indices. Then we use these price indices to calculate required variables such as rate of return and standard deviation. Finally we do correlation coefficient test and efficient frontier comparison to see which stategies are comparatively good. The results are those following::(1)Diversification by unemployment rate gets the hightest risk-adjusted rate of return;(2)Diversification by different regions gets the lowest risk-adjusted rate of return;(3) Diversification by different property sizes performed comparatively well. It is maybe caused by the essentially difference of high-price and low-price real estate markets;(4)Diversication by population growth rates doesn''t perform well. But we can not confirm that because our data doesn''t contain all counties in Taiwan.

This thesis is based on Economics theories and puts these theories into practice for the strategies of the main three organizations. Nowadays, the organizations in the world developing stored value cards mainly are Mondex, MasterCard and VISA International. This thesis also records their process in developing stored value cards until March, 1997. This new product has unique characteristics and face special industrial environment while promoting it into market. The crucial problems faced by the main three organizations in this industry include the competitions between compatible standards and this results in uncertainty and complexity for the making decision of the main three organizations; Strong network externalities and scale of installed base influence the strategies making and market share; The interactions of the main three organizations intensify the changes of this industry. This thesis concludes the strategies of the main three organizations. They are making commitment, enlarging installed base, attracting complementary firms, establishing alliances of strategy and ensuring the ways to get compatible standards. Applying these strategies to practice are follows: Enlarging the number of merchants and cardholders, cooperating with technological firms, other organizations, banks and so on. Finally, this thesis offers some suggestions to the main three organizations. First, the way to reach compatible standards should be determined as soon as possible and then all those companies involved in the industry could avoid hesitating. Second, the main three organizations should confirm their products positioning according to their strength and weakness. Third, speeding up the promotion in Taiwan and understanding the restriction of law shortly.

After the burst of internet bubbles in 2000, the proprietors of online stores began to run their business like physical ones. They adopted the strategy circumspectly to have a solid foundation for their brands. Since the contents and promotions of the website were easy to be copied, the proprietors of online stores need to strengthen their brand awareness and brand preference to customers if they want to be the leader on the market. Most of the online stores only promote their products and service online now, and their strategies are not as diverse or fancy as physical stores have. Besides, most of the researches work on information system design of the website by now. There are not only a few case study on the internet makeup and skin care product stores, but also no research of online brand strategy step model. Through using multiple case study method, this research discusses the practicable marketing strategy what the cases of this study have done. Moreover, this research also goes through the conceptions of online brand strategy, e-commerce, and internet marketing strategy to build the conceptual model to analyze the marketing strategy what the three cases have adopted for this study. In the end, this research has build one practicable brand strategy step model for successful online stores in Taiwan. The result shows that the first step of building a successful online store is to perfect your own website. Then, expand your ambits to other commercial website. After that, an online store can be known by customers without continuing the third step. But if you can follow-up, that will strengthen the brand awareness and brand preference. The third step can be working the virtual community or marketing offline. There is no priority between these two stages, and you can also adopt both on the same time. That would be no difference.

Since Hunt put forward the concept of a "strategy group" , a great many of scholars have engaged in research on different in - dustries with regard to this concept. This paper tries to introduce this concept to the research on Taiwan''s integrated securities brokerage firms, and to differentiate their operational strategies among different groups of these firms. The result of a survey on integrated securities brokerage firms show that there are different operational strategies for different groups of these firms. Based on different strategy variables, this paper classifies such firms into four groups, that is, the broking type, the underwriting type, the scale type and mini type. The main characteristics of these different types are as follows: Broking type: relatively speaking, these emphasize the stategy variable of the broking department. Underwriting type: relatively speaking, these emphasize the stategy variable of the underwriting department. Scale type: these have large scale operations and engaged in high - level multilateral business. Mini type: They have small amount of capital, and do not have an underwriting department. Due to these different concepts, the integrated securities brokerage firms constitute different groups and each group have its competitive niche. However, only by improving to the weak points can they develop and servive in the highly competitive and risky securities market.

It is the research to discuss the most appropriate strategy for the marketers from Taiwan Digital Publishing Industry to enter the Mainland China market. Textual Analysis, Porter Five Forces Analysis and SWOT Analysis are the main tools and be applied for responding below issues raised in this research: 1. Why Mainland China market is attractive to Taiwan Digital Publisher and what are the obstacles for them to enter? 2. What are the competencies and limitations for Taiwan Digital Publishers? 3. What strategies are recommended for Taiwan Digital Publishers to apply? According to Question 1, as the market size of Mainland China is considered huge and Digital Publishing is totally a brand new industry, therefore, Taiwan Digital Publishers are attracted to enter this potential market. However, policies and controls by China Government are one of the obstacles and some Local Digital Publishers who had overseas and Hong Kong background promoted forward integration strategy also became one of the obstacles. Apart from this, piracies and illegal copies are also one of the major obstacles and it caused reluctance for Taiwan Digital Publishers to enter the Mainland China market. For Question 2, the competencies of the Taiwan Digital Publishers are specialized in editing and better industry background than Local Publishers in Mainland China. However, there are still some limitations for the Taiwan Digital Publisher such as lacking of knowledge in digital technology, skills, queries in e-book copyright, high cost, difficult to be granted the right to publish and inflexible to make further investment and run the operations smoothly for small and medium business. For Question 3, the geographic obstacles can be overcome if there is a specific marketing strategy for promoting the digital publishing items. The most appropriate and flexible strategy for Taiwan Digital Publisher to go into the Mainland China market is to set up the Strategy Alliance. At last, more suggestions are recommended to the digital publishers, Taiwan government and further researches. The marketers are recommended to think twice and well-planned about the strategies as well as their competencies and obstacles beforehand. Since, China government dominants the market, hence, The Taiwan government is suggested to provide legal aid for the marketers who plan to enter the Mainland China market instead. Finally, other researchers are also welcomed to provide their own point of views and share their experiences in order to enrich the contents and findings in this research.

The source of the pressure before the game include: race rating, the audience and the social expectations, coaches and parents look forward to, bonuses, win mentality. Another source of pressure for the game covers: Coach and friends look forward to more than a few backward, physical condition, and other sources of stress referee judgment. The main coping strategies Greco-Roman wrestling elite players in the game to take when faced with pressure for self-talk, positive thinking, deep breathing, imagery exercises, this paper presents preliminary conclusions based on the findings and make specific recommendations as a reference for further research.

As we know that the process of visions, strategies, plans, actions, reviews and re-plans are essential to managing a company and strategies obviously are the main guideline of all. The product strategies in marketing are recognized as the starting point to various kinds of strategies in production, marketing, human resource, R&D, finance, information system and logistic…etc. The distribution organization of Multi-Level Marketing companies (hereafter named “MLM companies”) is different from those of other industries because in addition to being a customer, the distributors are not only their sales representatives but also supervisors of the sales teams. Therefore, the characteristics of distribution organization must be particularly taken into account while MLM companies plan on their product strategies. If they know well about the characteristics, the products strategies can be successfully initiated and company goal can be easily achieved as a result. In this study the data was collected through questionnaires which focus on the following three main issues in order to compare the differences and similarities of consideration factors between MLM companies and distributors while MLM companies plan on their product strategies. □To see if there are different viewpoints between MLM companies and distributors on the fitness to individual distributor with different characteristics in selling various kinds of products. □To evaluate the influence to the sales performance based on distributors’ professional knowledge, educational background and gender. □To observe the reactions and expectations of distributors on the new products that MLM companies promote. The findings in the study are as follows, 1)Distributors do think over whether the product is suitable for them or not while joining MLM companies. 2)The characteristics of distributors do affect their choice of selling products and their sales performance. 3)MLM companies are certainly concerned about the characteristics of distributors no matter in the ordinary time or during the period of promoting their new products. 4)There are differences and similarities between the MLM companies and the distributors in the consideration factors about new products. 5)There are differences and similarities between the MLM companies and the distributors in the product strategies, including channel, brand, quality and price. It is hoped that the study will enable MLM companies to realize the importance of the characteristics of distributors to its product strategies and enable them to achieve the best effectiveness by analyzing the characteristics of their distributors.

Therefore, our study, based on theories of consumer behavior, looks into and analizes the behavior of those buying a 3G mobile phone. Our samples are based on people who live in the Chia-Yi County and who own a mobile phone. We use surveys and questionnaires to investigate the relationship between the consumers’ consumption behavior and phone marketing strategies There are 7 concrete results through the evidence: 1. 90% above consumer thought it purchases the 3G mobile phones the main motive is because of the route inquiry and the job requirement. 2. People who need to have up-to-date information, those who work in the commercial information related businesses or those who want to stay connected to distant family all the times. 3. The primary concerns for 3G mobile phone users are the speed when connecting to the Internet and the availability to send and receive video images. 4. The price of 3G mobile phones has a big influence on customers’ consuming will. For example, discount or no charge on calling fee when calling people within the same phone network. 5. Different types of customers have different value toward “source of information”, “property of products” and “sales-strategy-not-relative-to -price”. The Stylish types of customers value the above three points more than the Efficency types of customers, which value more than the Conservative types of customer. On the other hand, different types of customers have different levels of “consumption motive”. The Conservative Types of customers needs more motives than the Efficency Types of customers than the Stylish Types of customer. 6.Different types of customers have different value toward “sale strategy”. The Efficiency types of customers value the above point more than the Stylish types of customers, which value more than the Conservative types of customer. 7.Different types of customers have different value toward “presentation of self-identity”, “the need for the Internet”, “the style of the phones”. a. The Stylish types of customers value “presentation of self-identity” and “the need for the Internet” more than the Conservative types of customers. b. The Stylish types of customers value “Style of the phones” more than the Efficiency types of customers, which value more than the Conservative types of customer.

As the Internet and digital technology progressing rapidly, we are capable of combining the Internet with the media. Consumers consequently have variety ways of choices in communication and video conference. MOD (Multi-media on Demand), gradually catches consumers’ attention. Nowadays, MOD service not only has to face competitors in the same business field, but also has to compete with the cable television proprietors. Under the circumstances of fierce competition, how to make marketing strategies to raise the consumers’ purchasing wills is a question highly concerned by relative businesspersons; meanwhile, this is also the main topic this research wants to focus on. Based on the relational theories of consumer behavior, this research intends to figure out how MOD marketing strategies affects consumers’ purchasing, according to the investigation into the customers of Chunghwa Telecom Company from Kaohsiung and Tainan. The following are eight concrete results after demonstration and analysis: 1. There are more than 88% consumers indicated that bookmark location, instant-selected programs, and perfect reception of televisions, which are the featuring functions of MOD, are the main reasons that raise the consumers’ purchasing will. 2. Consumers refer to the past using experiences of others and their own when they decide whether to use MOD or not. 3. The top two marketing strategies that appeal to consumers are program increase and fine quality of the programs. 4. Random-accessed video and distance learning are most of the consumers’ main motivations to use MOD. 5. The conservative consumer group has higher preference in average to the consumer-domain product than the economical consumer group. 6. The innovative consumer group has higher preference to the economical consumer group in personal source. . 7. The innovative consumer group has better comprehension to the effect of service industrial marketing strategies than the conservative consumer group. They also has better comprehension to the influence of MOD’s innovative strategy and place strategy than the other groups. 8. The purchasing motivation for the need of information and the need of entertainment, the innovative consumer group has higher preference to the economical consumer group.
