Abstract:
Despite changing family compositions, entrenched in family law is the antiquated idea that a two-parent household, or its approximation vis-à-vis a shared custody arrangement, promotes stability and integrity and, thus, is in the best interest of the child. Yet, the concept that the two-parent household (or shared involvement of both parents in the child’s life if the parents separate) promotes stability for the family and is best for the child is a dangerous fallacy. When rape or intimate partner violence (IPV) is present, or the re-occurrence of violence remains a threat, the family unit is far from stable. This Article explores the legal system’s glorification of the nuclear family, its resistance to shifting away from the two-parent paradigm, and how this resistance creates a stability paradox and perpetuates violence against women and children. The harmful impact that the nuclear family paradigm has on families is further explored by an examination of the statutory constructs and judicial interpretations of termination of parental rights (TPR) and custody statutes in cases where a child is conceived as a result of rape or exposed to ongoing IPV. Cases are utilized to examine how courts have interpreted parental rights statutes where a child is conceived as a result of rape. Additionally, a hypothetical case is discussed to explore arguments that may be advanced in TPR cases where children are exposed to ongoing IPV. The Article finds that although there are inherent problems in enacting statutes to terminate parental rights in cases involving rape or IPV, legislation is also a necessary tool for survivors. Model legislation is proposed for termination of parental rights in cases where a child is conceived as a result of a sexual offense or when a child is exposed to ongoing IPV.

AbstractWe prove two results about generically stable typespin arbitrary theories. The first, on existence of strong germs, generalizes results from [2] on stably dominated types. The second is an equivalence of forking and dividing, assuming generic stability ofp(m)for allm. We use the latter result to answer in full generality a question posed by Hasson and Onshuus: IfP(x) εS(B) is stable and does not fork overAthenprestrictionAis stable. Abstract:
Ethiopia is the largest wheat producer in Sub- Saharan Africa. The productivity of wheat has increased in the last few years in the country, but low as compared to other countries. This low productivity is attributed to a number of factors including biotic, abiotic, shortage of high yielding and stable varieties. The objective of the present study is to identify high yielding and stable genotype. A total of twenty genotypes including Dambal (st. check) and Mada walabu (Local check) were evaluated for two cropping season 2017 and 2018 at four locations: Sinana, Agarfa, Goba and Gololcha. The experiment was laid out in RCBD with three replications. The result of combined analysis of variance showed high significant differences for genotypes, environment and GE interaction. The result of AMMI analysis indicated that 36.3 %, of the total variability was justified by environment, 28.6% by genotypes and 34.9% by GE interaction whereas IPCA 1 and IPCA 2 explained 74.2% from the total GE. Based on GSI a single criteria for stability and high grain yield, genotypes G9, G1, G14,G10, G15 and G12 have the smallest genotype stability index which means they were stable and high yielding genotype. The best genotype with respect to environment Gololcha 2017 and Gololcha 2018 was genotype G10. Genotypes G3 and G17 were better adapted to environments Agarfa 2017. G12 is high yielder stable across tested locations. Therefore this genotype was identified as candidate genotypes to be verified for possible release.

AbstractWe investigate the connection between -stability for random and Cohen forcing notions and the measurability and categoricity of the -sets. We show that Shelah's model for -measurability and categoricity satisfies -random-stability while it does not satisfy -Cohen-stability. This gives an example of measure-category asymmetry. We also present a result concerning finite support iterations of Suslin forcing.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Let [Formula: see text] be a smooth irreducible projective curve and let [Formula: see text] be a complete and generated linear series on [Formula: see text]. Denote by [Formula: see text] the kernel of the evaluation map [Formula: see text]. The exact sequence [Formula: see text] fits into a commutative diagram that we call the Butler’s diagram. This diagram induces in a natural way a multiplication map on global sections [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is a subspace and [Formula: see text] is the dual of a subbundle [Formula: see text]. When the subbundle [Formula: see text] is a stable bundle, we show that the map [Formula: see text] is surjective. When [Formula: see text] is a Brill–Noether general curve, we use the surjectivity of [Formula: see text] to give another proof of the semistability of [Formula: see text], moreover, we fill up a gap in some incomplete argument by Butler: With the surjectivity of [Formula: see text] we give conditions to determine the stability of [Formula: see text], and such conditions imply the well-known stability conditions for [Formula: see text] stated precisely by Butler. Finally we obtain the equivalence between the (semi)stability of [Formula: see text] and the linear (semi)stability of [Formula: see text] on [Formula: see text]-gonal curves.

Abstract:
Large amount of both historical and modern indices calculated from radio-souding data was developed for the storm prediction. In this work we processed 75 storm indices and other parameters, which could potentially be connected with the storm development. First part of the article is devoted to the effectivity of particular indices with special emphasis on the comparison of various modifications of the convective available potential energy (CAPE). Afterwards there were examined possibilities of the use of various combinations of indices and other parameters, and benefits of these combinations for the thunderstorm forecast. The forecast of the afternoon storms based on midday soundings is analysed in detail, as for this time point, a combination of indices has apparently the biggest benefit.
