Abstract:
Abstract A novel cost-effective wavelength shifter is suggested in this paper. This paper shows how to shift signals in the mm-wave area using a frequency shifter. Due to stimulated Brillouin scattering in optical fibre, the proposed approach produces a single sideband signal without the carrier signal. When compared to SSB-SC transmissions, the bandwidth efficiency of double sideband signals is lower. Because it employs an optical fibre with a performance degrading condition such as SBS as an application, the frequency shifter is entirely optical. The theory of Gain and Loss Spectrum of SBS within optical fibre is utilised to minimise the upshifted frequency component and boost the low shifter frequency component in order to generate improved carrier power and single sideband. The SBS phenomenon produces a single sideband, which is advantageous in advanced modulation systems and consumes less bandwidth. It’s worth noting that the SSB-SC signal may be generated using any optical approach, and the proposed work eliminates the need for non-optical components like 90-degree hybrid couplers. SSB-SC signals are capable of combating pulse broadening difficulties and have the ability to operate at terahertz frequencies. Transmission of an SSB-SC signal is also shown to validate the performance of the produced signal. Furthermore, the Q factor of SSB-SC, SSB with carrier, DSB-SC, and DSB with carrier signals is studied at various connection lengths.

Abstract:
AbstractObjective:To test whether point-of-sale (POS) information about the nutrition content of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSB) promotes healthier drink choices among teenagers, and explore whether POS intervention effects vary based on prior exposure to a sugary drink public health campaign (13 Cancers).Design:Between-subjects online experiment with three POS signage conditions: no signage (control); sugar content (SC) and Health Star Rating (HSR). Participants viewed their assigned POS sign alone, then alongside a drinks product display and chose which drink they would buy. Perceptions of various drink products and campaign recall were assessed.Setting:Australia.Participants:Adolescents aged 13–17 years (n 925) recruited via an online panel. Results:POS signs did not promote a significant reduction in preference for SSB (cf. control condition). Cognitive and emotional responses to POS signs were strongest for the SC sign, which was rated higher than the HSR sign on various perceived effectiveness measures. Participants who saw the SC sign rated SSB as less healthy (cf. control condition) and were more likely to accurately estimate the number of teaspoons of sugar in soft drink (cf. HSR sign and control conditions). There was no significant interaction between prior exposure to the 13 Cancers campaign and POS signage condition regarding preferences for and perceptions of SSB.Conclusions:SSB POS interventions may not have the desired effect on adolescents’ drink preferences. Testing SSB POS signs in real-world retail settings is needed to determine whether positive educational impacts extend to promoting healthier drink purchases and reduced SSB consumption among teenagers.

Abstract:
Background: Sorghum-Soy Blend (SSB) and Sorghum-Cowpea Blend (SCB) fortified blended food aid porridge products were developed as alternatives to Corn-Soy Blend Plus (CSB+) and Super Cereal Plus (SC+), the most widely used fortified blended food aid products. However, the cost and nutrient cost-effectiveness of these products procured from different geographical areas have not been determined. Objective: The objective of this study is to determine the nutrient cost-effectiveness of SSB and SCB compared to existing fortified blended foods. Methods: Nutritional data as well as ingredient, processing, and transportation cost for SSB, SCB, and existing fortified blended foods were compiled. Using the omega value, the ratio of the fortified blended food’s Nutrient Value Score to the total cost of the fortified blended food divided by an identical ratio of a different fortified blended food or the same fortified blended food produced in a different country and the nutrient cost-effectiveness of each of the fortified blended foods procured in the United States and several African countries were determined. Results: Both CSB+ and SC+ are less expensive than SSB and SCB, but they also have lower Nutrient Value Scores of 7.7 and 8.6, respectively. However, the omega values of CSB+ and SC+ are all above 1 when compared to SSB and SCB, suggesting that the existing fortified blended foods are more nutrient cost-effective. Conclusions: Comparing the nutrient cost-effectiveness of various food aid products could provide valuable information to food aid agencies prior to making procurement decisions.

Abstract:
Cable termination fault is one of the most important problems for high voltage underground cable lines (HVUCL). Harmonic current (HC) and the sheath current (SC) are causes of cable termination faults of HVUCL. The sheath voltage (SV) of cable increases due to SC and HC also. So, the electroshock risk for human occurs. In this study, cable termination faults are examined for long HVUCL that is connected to electric network with high harmonic distortion rate. In literature, solid bonding (SB) and sectional solid bonding (SSB) methods are used to reduce harmonic distortion rate and SC effect in HVUCL. However, when SB and SSB methods are used for bonding of long HVUCL, harmonic distortion limit and touch voltage limit are exceeded. Therefore, the modified SSB (MSSB) method is developed for bonding of long HVUCL. SV of HVUCL should be known to use MSSB for bonding of long HVUCL. Then SV of HVUCL is forecasted by using artificial neural network and hybrid artificial neural networks (HANN) before the long HVUCL is installed. MSSB parameters should be optimized, so that optimization methods are used for optimization of MSSB and HANN. When MSSB method is used for bonding of long HVUCL, harmonic distortion limit and touch voltage limit are not exceeded under high harmonic distortion conditions.

Abstract:
Sugar-Sweetened Beverage (SSBs) consumption has risen in early life and it is plausible that it might increase children’s risk of allergies. In this paper, we analyzed the association of SSB consumption with allergies in children’s second year of life. This study analyzed data from a São Luís BRISA prenatal cohort in the follow-up of children (n = 1144) in their second year of life. Allergy Traits were a latent variable deduced from medical diagnoses of allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, and food allergies. SSBs were investigated as a percentage of daily calories based on 24 h recalls, including industrialized fruit juices, soft drinks, and ready-made chocolate milk. Other variables analyzed were socioeconomic status, age, body mass index z-score, episodes of diarrhea, and breastfeeding. Our finds were that higher consumption of daily calories from SSBs was associated with higher Allergy Trait values (SC = 0.174; p = 0.025); older age (SC = −0.181; p = 0.030) was associated with lower Allergy Trait values; and episodes of diarrhea were correlated with Allergy Traits (SC = 0.287; p = 0.015). SSB exposure was associated with Allergy Traits in children’s second year of life; thus, abstaining from these beverages may also confer additional advantages in curtailing allergic diseases during early childhood.

Abstract:
An optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) based on series-coupled double recirculating delay lines (SC-DRDLs) is analyzed and experimentally demonstrated. The SC-DRDLs composed by the coupling cascade of two RDLs, which the free spectral range (FSR) is least common multiple of the two RDLs’ FSR, and then the large FSR can be obtained by properly setting the loop lengths of two RDLs. By consociation with the dual loops system between the dual output of the SC-DRDLs and PBS, the high sidemode suppression performance can be achieved. Meantime, the incoherence of the SC-DRDLs can be performed by using an amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) broadband laser source. An experiment is carried out. A microwave signal with high spectral purity, long-term stability, low single-sideband (SSB) phase noise is generated.

Abstract:
An efficient way of noise reduction has been presented: A modified Costas loop called as Masterpiece. The basic version of the Costas loop has been developed for SSB SC demodulation, but the same circuit can be applied for QAM demodulation as well. Noise sensitivity of the basic version has been decreased. One trick is the transformation of the real channel input into complex signal, the other one is the application of our folding algorithm. The result is that the Masterpiece provides a 4QAM symbol error rate (SER) of 6*10-4 for input signal to noise ratio (SNR) of -1 dB. In this paper, an improved version of the original Masterpiece is introduced. The complex channel input signal is normalized, and rotational average is applied. The 4QAM result is SER of 3*10-4 for SNR of -1 dB. At SNR of 0 dB, the improved version produces 100 times better SER than that the original Costas loop does.

Abstract:
The automatic modulation classification of signals is of great importance in modern communications, especially on cognitive radio. Several methods have been used in this field, the most important of which is the classification of modulation automatically using Deep Learning, where the methods depend on the convolution neural network, which is one of the Deep Learning networks, achieved high accuracy in classifying the modulation, so the proposed network depends on the type of deep learning CNN consisting of four blocks, each block contains a set of symmetric and asymmetric filters. The network also contains Max Pool. In this paper, the features extracted in phase-squaring and polar have been combined for the input, which helps in extending the input, that is, an increase in the features inside the network. It also contributes to improving the accuracy of classifying the higher-order modulation through the Polar plane. The dataset RadioML 2018.01A was adopted, which is used in the most recent research, where 11 types of modulation normal-class: (FM, GMSK, QPSK, BPSK, 0QPSK, AM-SSB-SC, 4ASK, AM-DSB-SC, 16QAM, 8PSK,00K) were taken. A simulation of which can be found in Matlab 2021. The proposed network achieved 100% classification accuracy when the signal-to-noise ratio is greater or equal to 2 dB for 11 types of modulation. The results of the paper were compared with modern networks Baseline network, Visual Geometry Group network, and Residual Neural network. The comparison showed the superiority of the proposed network over these networks, as the proposed network achieved an accuracy equal to 100% at SNR 2 dB while BL achieved an accuracy equal to 72% at SNR 2 dB, RN, and VGG almost reach 93% at SNR 2 dB.

Abstract:
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), relying on wireless communication, are inevitably influenced by the complex electromagnetic environment, attributed to the development of wireless communication technology. The modulation information of signals can assist in identifying device information and interference in the environment, which is significant for UAV communication environment monitoring. Therefore, in scenarios involving the communication of UAVs, it is necessary to find out how to perform the spectrum monitoring method to obtain the modulation information. Most existing methods are unsuitable for scenarios where multiple signals appear in the same spectrum sequence or do not use an end-to-end structure. Firstly, we established a spectrum dataset to simulate the UAV communication environment and developed a label method. Then, detection networks were employed to extract the presence and location information of signals in the spectrum. Finally, decision-level fusion was used to combine the output results of multiple nodes. Five modulation types, including ASK, FSK, 16QAM, DSB-SC, and SSB, were used to simulate different signal sources in the communication environment. Accuracy, recall, and F1 score were used as evaluation metrics. The networks were tested at different signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs). Among the different modulation types, FSK exhibits the most stable recognition performance across different models. The proposed method is of great significance for wireless radio spectrum monitoring in complex electromagnetic environments and is adaptable to scenarios where multiple receivers are used in vast terrains, providing a deep learning-based approach to radio monitoring solutions for UAV communication.

Background:Over the past few years new international criteria have been proposed for the classification of primary Sjögren’s syndrome (pSS) from the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) in 2012 and the ACR with European League Against Rheumatism (ACR/EULAR) in 2016 [1, 2]. In real practice in Russia we use Russian criteria (2001).Objectives:To estimate ACR (2012) and ACR/EULAR (2016) criteria in Russian cohort of patients with pSS patients fulfilling Russian criteria (2001).Methods:From 2016 to 2019 we examined 110 patients (109 female, 1 male) with newly diagnosed pSS fulfilling Russian criteria with the mean age 50,2±14 years (min 18; max 82). Russian criteria for pSS: I) keratoconjunctivitis sicca (stimulated Schirmer’s test <10 mm/5 min or fluorescein staining of the cornea or tear break-up time < 10 sec); II) sialadenitis (sialectasia on parotid sialography (obligatory) +/- stimulated saliva flow test<2,5 ml/ 5min +/- labial salivary gland biopsy with focus score (FS) of ≥2 foci/4mm2); III) positive antinuclear antibody (ANA) or positive ANA with rheumatoid factor (RF) or anti-SSA (anti-Ro) or/and SSB (anti-La). Abstract:
We compare the performances of three previously proposed methods to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the carrier-suppressed optical single-sideband (OSSB-SC) signal. PAPR of OSSB-SC signal becomes high due to the peaky Hilbert-transformed signal which is used for spectral suppression. Nonlinear phase shifts induced by high PAPR degrade OSSB-SC signal during fiber transmission. Previously, we proposed peak folding, peak clipping, and high-pass Hilbert transform methods to reduce the PAPR of OSSB-SC modulation. In this study, we numerically compare the effectiveness of proposed methods in a 10 Gbit/s non-return-to-zero (NRZ)-coded 100-km single-channel transmission link. Due to the reduced PAPR, peak folding and peak clipping can increase the self-phase modulation (SPM) threshold of the studied system by 2.40 dB and 2.63 dB respectively. The high-pass Hilbert transform method improves the SPM threshold by more than 9 dB.

Abstract:
AbstractIn this manuscript, an attempt has been made to enhance the performance of colorless wavelength division multiplexed-passive optical network (WDM–PON) system using a combination of dual-drive Mach–Zehnder modulator and single sideband-suppressed carrier (SSB-SC) technique along with splicing. The proposed design makes use of SSB-SC technique for optical line terminal (OLT) as well as for optical network unit (ONU) that is generated by using dual-drive modulator which in turn reduces the expense for complete communication process. Suppressed RF signals with four channels at a bit rate of 10 Gbps for each channel are multiplexed before injecting into fiber span of 25 km at OLT side. Half of the downlink power is consumed for re-modulating the data signal at ONU side. The performance is further improved by using signal splicing method. Due to suppression in the carrier in this technique, there is no carrier Rayleigh scattering problem. The proposed model is compared with the existing one for error-free transmission of signal. The results revealed that the proposed model possess less value of bit error rate with the same value of received optical power as well as channel.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective: This study examined relationships between dimensions of social capital (SC) (social trust, network diversity, social reciprocity, and civic engagement) and fruit, vegetable, and sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption among rural adults. Potential moderators (neighborhood rurality, food security, gender, race/ethnicity) were explored to develop a more nuanced understanding of the SC-healthy eating relationship. Design: Data were from a 2019 mailed population-based survey evaluating an 11-county initiative to address health equity. Participants self-reported health behaviors, access to health-promoting resources, and demographics. Logistic regression models were used to analyze relationships between predictors, outcomes, and moderators. Setting: Five rural counties, Georgia, USA. Participants: 1,120 participants. Results: Among participants who lived in the country (as opposed to in town), greater network diversity was associated with consuming ≥3 servings of fruit [OR=1.08; 95% CI 1.01, 1.17, p=.029], yet among participants who lived in town, greater civic engagement was associated with consuming ≥3 servings of fruit [OR=1.36; 95% CI 1.11, 1.65, p=.003]. Both food secure and food insecure participants with greater social reciprocity had lower odds of consuming 0 SSBs [OR=.92; 95% CI .86, .98, p=.014, OR=.92; 95% CI .86, .99, p=.037, respectively]. Men with greater social trust were more likely to consume 0 SSBs [OR=1.09; 95% CI 1.01, 1.18, p=.038], and Whites with greater network diversity were more likely to meet daily vegetable recommendations [OR=1.10; 95% CI 1.01, 1.19, p=.028]. Conclusions: Findings provide a basis for future qualitative research on potential mechanisms through which SC and related social factors influence healthy eating in rural communities.

Abstract:
With the rapid development of wireless systems, the demand for frequency resources has been increasing in recent years. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the high-quality communication method that efficiently utilizes finite frequency resources. In this paper, Single Sideband 16 Pulse Amplitude Modulation (SSB 16PAM) scheme for the uplink communication is proposed. It transmits data in only Lower Sideband (LSB) without extra Hilbert components. Under Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel environment, Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the proposed scheme is superior by 3 dB in terms of Carrier-to-Noise Ratio (CNR) to 256 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (256QAM) scheme with the same frequency efficiency and the same Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). Our proposed scheme employs the original frequency domain filter on the transmitter side to form an ideal spectrum. The configuration of its process is almost similar to Single Carrier-Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA), moreover, half of the input data on the frequency domain is removed. The proposed frequency domain filter produces the SSBmodulated spectrum with a roll-off rate of zero without degrading the BER performance.
