Abstract:
Due to enormous growth rates during the last couple of years CarSharing has become an interesting field of research. This Master Thesis focuses on the analysis of CarSharing users. For this purpose more than 37.000 participants of the "Große SrV-Vergleichsstädte"-Survey were taken into account. After a short literature review and some general information about the statistical methods, the thesis tries to work out some major characteristics of the typical CarSharing user. It will be shown, that a high income and a young age are of central importance. Also when analysing other variables different user quotas are observed, but can mostly be explained with different age or income levels. At the end a binary logit model is sugested to differ between users and non users, by using the previous analysed observed characteristics as input.

Abstract:
SRV återvinning AB is a joint-stock waste company located in the south of Stockholm. Since the first operation, three landfills have been practiced successively. The landfill generates about 200,000 to 250,000 cubic meters of leachate per year. An on-site leachate treatment plant consists of sequencing batch reactor (SBR) and constructed wetland was build for Landfill III. The research was to find out: - the capacity and efficiency of the existing on-site leachate treatment plant; - to analyse the costs and environmental benefits of different alternatives; and - using the above results, to assess and suggest supplementary methods to treat total landfill leachate concerning the site-specific conditions. This thesis contains a literature review of leachate production and composition as well as leachate treatment technologies. The technologies are described, evaluated or compared. The contents of this thesis divided into 11 chapters. Various calculations and assumptions that have been developed for effective controlling and treating leachate from landfills. Chapter 1 is devoted to basic facts of the leachate problems at SRV återvinning AB. Chapter 2 presented the methodologies that have been set up for solutions and suggestions. Chapter 3 provides a general background of the generation and compositions of waste leachate. A general overview of leachate treatment methods and systems is presented in Chapter 4. Costs of different leachate treatment methods is also exhibited. Chapter 5 provides a detailed current situation review of SRV återvinning AB on landfilling site, leachate quality and quantity and the existing treatment plant. Chapter 6 showed the previous application experience from other treatment plant. The calculation and comparison procedure for the capacity and efficiency of the plant at the landfill is presented in Chapter 7. Different alternatives to solve the leachate problem concerning the site-specification are proposed in Chapter 8. Their applicability, effectiveness are analyzed. Chapter 9 provides detailed discussion of alternatives and calculation procedure. After the conclusion of the thesis, recommendations for the further work are presented. This thesis will provide SRV återvinning AB different alternatives to solve leachate problems. Finally, considering the site-specification, economic perspective and environmental benefits, applying reverse osmosis after SBR as final step; the combination of aerated lagoon, sand filter and soil infiltration are proposed. Furthermore, the control of leachate production is also taken into account. Eventually, recommendations for the further work were presented.

Resumo: Neste trabalho estudou-se a aplicação da integração térmica SRV ("Secondary Reflux and Vaporization") à destilação extrativa para misturas com solvente de baixa volatilidade, etanol/água/etileno glicol, e para misturas com solvente que se vaporiza, acetona/metanol/água. Esta integração térmica, que consiste principalmente da transferência de calor da seção de enriquecimento para a seção de esgotamento, pode fazer uso de um gradiente de temperatura natural existente entre as seções da coluna de destilação extrativa. Este gradiente pode ainda ser aumentado pela operação das seções da coluna a diferentes pressões. A simulação do processo foi conduzida utilizando-se o método de NAPHTALI & SANDHOLM (1971). Este método sofreu algumas modificações para adaptá-lo à destilação SRV", ao cálculo de equilíbrio de fases selecionado e para diferentes aspectos da simulação. Os resultados são apresentados em três etapas: efeito da integração térmica sobre os perfis de temperatura, vazão e concentração; efeito na pureza de produtos de topo e fundo e impactos em termos de economia de energia. Para o sistema etanol/água/etileno glicol foi verificado uma redução de 25% no consumo de energia e para o sistema acetona/metanol/água uma redução de 36%, quando comparadas colunas integradas termicamente a colunas de destilação extrativa convencionais.
Abstract: This work was developed to study the application of the thermal integration SRV (Secondary Reflux and Vaporization) in the extractive distillation of the mixture with solvent of low volatility, ethanol/water/ethyiene glycol and mixture with solvent of higher volatility acetone/methanol/water. This thermal integration; which consists mainly of heat transfer from the rectifying section to the stripping section, can use the natural gradient of temperature occurring between the sections of the extractive column. This gradient can be increased when the pressure of the rectifying section is higher than the pressure of the stripping section. The process of simulation was conducted utilizing the NAPHTALI & SANDHOLM method (1971). This method was modified to incorporate the thermal integration SRVf the selected model of phase equilibrium and to improve other aspects of simulation. The results are presented in three parts; effects of thermal integration on the temperature, flow and component flow profiles; effect on the parity of overhead and bottom products and possibility of reduction in the energy consumption. Reduction of 25% in the energy consumption for the ethanol/water/ethylene glycol mixture and reduction of 3 69i for the ace tone/me thanol /water were achieved when integrated columns were compared to conventional extractive columns.

Seit mehr als vierzig Jahren analysiert die Verkehrswissenschaft an der Technischen Universität Dresden durch regelmäßige Haushaltsbefragungen die Entwicklung des Einwohnerverkehrs in Städten und Gemeinden. Die Technische Universität Dresden bereitet den nunmehr elften Befragungsdurchgang der Zeitreihe im System repräsentativer Verkehrsbefragungen (SrV) vor, der im Jahr 2018 stattfinden wird. Der Beitrag fokussiert auf die aktuellen Herausforderungen bei der Datenerhebung und -bereitstellung und beschreibt überblicksartig die Datenlage zur Alltagsmobilität in Deutschland. Weiterhin wird beispielhaft aufgezeigt, inwieweit aktuelle Mobilitätsdaten einen Mehrwert für die strategische raumrelevante Planung und Mobilitätsforschung darstellen und welche Hauptnutzungsbereiche existieren. Der Beitrag verfolgt das Ziel, die elfte Erhebungswelle „Mobilität in Städten – SrV 2018“ aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln vorzustellen. Neben organisatorischen Gesichtspunkten spielen dabei auch Fragekatalog, Stadtbeteiligung und räumliche Auflösung der Daten eine Rolle.

Abstract:
Die vorliegende Studienarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Fragestellung, inwiefern sich Revealed-Preference-Daten aus der deutschen Mobilitätsbefragung "Mobilität in Städten" SrV 2008 dazu eignen, um basierend auf denen im Datensatz enthaltenen Wegen Verkehrsmittelwahlmodelle zu schätzen. Dazu wurden Wegedaten aus der Befragung verwendet, und die Wahlalternativen mit Hilfe der Google Directions API rekonstruiert. Mit den rekonstruierten Variablen Reisezeit und Reisekosten sowie verschiedenen sozioökonomischen und externen Variablen aus SrV 2008 wurden verschiedene Wahlmodelle geschätzt. Durch schrittweises Hinzufügen der Variablen konnte das Modell immer weiter verbessert werden. Wie zu erwarten, erwiesen sich dabei die Reisezeit und die Reisekosten als hoch signifikant. Von den restlichen Variablen waren jedoch lediglich das Geschlecht der befragten Person sowie die Wettersituation zum Zeitpunkt der Wahlentscheidung signifikant. Für das finale Modell wurden Zeitkostensätze errechnet und mit verschiedenen europäischen Studien verglichen. Die errechneten Zeitkostensätze erwiesen sich dabei als plausibel. Die SrV-Daten eignen sich also für die Schätzung von Wahlmodellen
The following thesis analyzes, if revealed preference data from the German mobility survey "Mobilität in Städten" SrV 2008 is suited to estimate mode choice models. For that purpose, trip data from the survey was used and the different choice alternatives were reconstructed with the Google Directions API. Several mode choice models were estimated with the help of the reconstructed variables travel time and travel costs plus several socioeconomic and external variables from SrV 2008. The variables were added to the model step by step, thereby the quality of the model improved. As expected, travel time and travel costs were highly significant. However from the remaining variables only the gender of the person and the weather at the time of the trip were significant. For the final model, values of time were calculated and these were compared with values from different European studies. The calculated values of time proved to be feasible. Therefore, SrV data is suited to be used for mode choice models

Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht das Mobilitätsverhalten junger Erwachsener. Dies ist von besonderer Relevanz, da die heutige jüngere Generation die Mobilität der Zukunft prägen wird. Aus jenem Grund ist es von eminenter Bedeutung, dass diese Altersklasse intensiv und über einen längeren Zeitraum betrachtet wird, um Veränderungen in deren Verkehrsmittelwahlverhalten zu erkennen. Weiterhin beeinflussen neben den mobilitätsspezifischen Einflüssen auch soziodemografische Entwicklungen das genannte Verhalten, welche sowohl identifiziert, als auch bzgl. der Einflussstärke ausgewertet werden müssen. Ein Vergleich diverser Studien zeigt jedoch, dass die Altersklasse der jungen Erwachsenen eine noch relativ unerforschte Gruppe darstellt. Zudem besteht im Hinblick auf die Altersabgrenzung in der Literatur Uneinigkeit. Daraus ergibt sich die zentrale Frage dieser Arbeit, inwieweit sich die Gruppe der jungen Erwachsenen im Mobilitätsverhalten unterscheidet und ob es somit sinnvoll ist eine differenziertere Betrachtung vorzunehmen. Nach intensiver Recherche wurde hier die Altersspanne der jungen Erwachsenen wie folgt definiert: Personen zwischen 18 und 35 Jahren. Als Datengrundlage dieser empirischen Analyse wurden die großen SrV-Vergleichsstädte von 2013 herangezogen. Der Datensatz jener Stadtgruppe bezieht sich auf deutsche Großstädte mit mind. 100.000 Einwohnern. Mithilfe einer Clusteranalyse konnte zunächst eine Struktur im Datensatz aufgedeckt werden, wonach die 18-21-, 22-26- und 27-35-Jährigen homogene Cluster bilden. Diese Cluster wurden anschließend deskriptiv analysiert. Hierbei sind deutliche Unterschiede im Verkehrsmittelwahlverhalten festzustellen. Der MIV-Anteil steigt z. B. mit zunehmendem Alter an, wohingegen beim ÖPV ein entgegengesetztes Verhalten zu erkennen ist. Die Fahrradnutzung ist wiederum konstant und mit steigendem Alter werden mehr Wege zu Fuß zurückgelegt. Weiterhin werden die einzelnen Gruppen u. a. durch unterschiedliche Lebensumstände sowie neue Kommunikationstechnologie beeinflusst. Abschließend wurde eine Diskriminanzanalyse durchgeführt, um ein Modell zur Gruppentrennung der drei gebildeten Cluster zu entwickeln. Das resultierende Modell beinhaltet jeweils drei soziodemografische und mobilitätsspezifische Variablen und trennt die Gruppen sehr gut. Darüber hinaus wurden die Elemente eines Kontrolldatensatzes ähnlich optimal eingeordnet, wodurch die Anwendbarkeit dieses Modells bestätigt werden konnte. Die Analyse des Mobilitätsverhaltens der jungen Erwachsenen hat somit ergeben, dass es sich hierbei um eine heterogene Altersklasse handelt. Aus diesem Grund scheint es sinnvoll jene Zielgruppe bei zukünftigen Untersuchungen differenzierter zu betrachten und die ermittelten Cluster zu berücksichtigen.

Abstract:
Missing values are a serious problem in surveys. The literature suggests to replace these with realistic values using imputation methods. This master thesis examines four different imputation techniques concerning their ability for handling missing data. Therefore, mean imputation, conditional mean imputation, Expectation-Maximization algorithm and Markov-Chain-Monte-Carlo method are presented. In addition, the three first mentioned methods were simulated by using a large real data set. To analyse the quality of these techniques a metric variable of the original data set was chosen to generate some missing values considering different percentages of missingness and common missing data mechanism. After the replacement of the simulated missing values, several statistical parameters, like quantiles, arithmetic mean and variance of all completed data sets were calculated in order to compare them with the parameters from the original data set. The results, that have been established by empiric data analysis, show that the Expectation-Maximization algorithm estimates all considered statistical parameters of the complete data set far better than the other analysed imputation methods, although the assumption of a multivariate normal distribution could not be achieved. It is found, that the mean as well as the conditional mean imputation produce statistically significant estimator for the arithmetic mean under the supposition of missing completely at random, whereas other parameters as the variance do not show the estimated effects. Generally, the accuracy of all estimators from the three imputation methods decreases with increasing percentage of missingness. The results lead to the conclusion that the Expectation-Maximization algorithm should be preferred over the mean and the conditional mean imputation.

Abstract:
A otimização da formulação do óleo lubrificante empregado em motores de combustão interna é uma importante maneira de se reduzir o atrito e assim aumentar a eficiência energética. É também uma forma de assegurar proteção ao sistema, mantendo a taxa de desgaste em um nível adequado. O óleo de motor é uma mistura de óleos básicos selecionados com aditivos, entre os quais podem ser encontrados os modificadores de atrito, que são compostos com capacidade de aderir às superfícies metálicas, proporcionando melhoria da lubrificação em condições mista e limítrofe. O dialquilditiocarbamato de molibdênio (MoDTC) está entre os mais importantes redutores de atrito empregados em óleos lubrificantes. Ésteres sintéticos podem ser usados como óleos básicos em algumas formulações. Visto que ésteres são mais polares que hidrocarbonetos, essas moléculas podem atuar modificando propriedades do óleo na região próxima à superfície metálica. Podem também interferir com filmes adsorvidos, limitando sua efetividade. O objetivo do trabalho é a comparação dos efeitos do MoDTC em diferentes misturas contendo hidrocarboneto e éster. Para isso, formulações lubrificantes contendo uma polialfaolefina, um diéster e um aditivo à base de MoDTC foram preparadas, caracterizadas e ensaiadas em tribômetro oscilatório SRV usando configuração esfera-­disco. Foram empregadas esferas de aço AISI 52100 e discos de aço AISI H13. Foi estudada a influência da variação da temperatura e da força normal aplicada. Empregando-­se mistura de hidrocarboneto e éster como lubrificante, o aumento da temperatura causou leve aumento do coeficiente de atrito. Em ausência de MoDTC, a presença de éster aumentou a capacidade de suportação de carga das formulações. Os testes com óleos contendo MoDTC foram marcados pela ocorrência de dois fenômenos: ativação e depleção do aditivo. Estes fenômenos se mostraram dependentes da carga normal e da composição do óleo. O efeito de redução do atrito pelo MoDTC tende a ser menos duradouro com óleos mais ricos em éster e em condições de carregamento mais severo. O comportamento tribológico do éster em mistura com polialfaolefina, medido através do coeficiente de atrito, seguiu a isoterma de adsorção de Frumkin, com alguma atração entre as moléculas do éster, e energia livre da ordem de -­4 kJ/mol, típica de fisissorção. Óleos envelhecidos artificialmente foram testados e não apresentaram diferenças significativas com relação aos mesmos óleos novos. A adição de etanol aos óleos envelhecidos causou uma leve diminuição no coeficiente de atrito a 40 °C; tal efeito não foi perceptível em temperaturas mais altas, provavelmente devido à perda por evaporação do álcool.
The optimization of the lubricant oil formulation used in internal combustion engines is an important way of reducing friction, thus increasing energetic efficiency. It is also a way of protecting the system, maintaining wear rate in an adequate level. The engine oil is a blend of selected base oils with additives, amongst which are the friction modifiers substances able to adhere to the metal surfaces, thus providing better lubrication at the mixed and boundary regimes. Molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate (MoDTC) is amongst the most important friction reducers used in lubricant oils. Synthetic esters may be employed as base oils in some formulations as well. Given that esters are more polar than hydrocarbons, these molecules can actuate by modifying oil properties in the near-­surface region. They can also interfere with adsorbed films, preventing their effectiveness. The objective of this work is the comparison of the effects of MoDTC in different mixtures containing hydrocarbon and ester. With this aim, lubricating formulations containing a polyalphaolefin, a diester and a MoDTC-­based additive were prepared, characterized and tested in a reciprocating SRV tribometer using ball-­on-­disc configuration. AISI 52100 steel balls and AISI H13 steel discs were employed. The influences of the temperature and of the normal load were both studied. Employing a mixture of hydrocarbon and ester as lubricant, a higher temperature caused a slightly higher coefficient of friction in the lubricant free of additive. In the absence of MoDTC, the ester increased the load-­carrying capacity of the lubricant formulations. Tests with MoDTC-­containing oils were characterized by two phenomena: activation and depletion of the additive. These phenomena showed to be dependent on the normal load and on the oil composition. The MoDTC friction reducing effect tends to be less sustainable with higher ester concentrations and at higher loads. The tribological behavior of the ester in the presence of polyalphaolefin, as measured by the coefficient of friction, followed the Frumkin adsorption isotherm, with some attraction between ester molecules, and free energy in the order of -­4 kJ/mol, typical of physisorption. Artificially aged oils were tested and did not show differences when compared with the results of the fresh oils. Adding ethanol to the aged oils caused a slightly reduction in the coefficient of friction at 40 °C, but this effect was not observed at higher temperatures, probably due to evaporation loss of the alcohol.

Background The most common reading disability is dyslexia. This reading disability encompasses various symptoms such as poor spelling outcomes, reading fluency and difficulties in expressing oneself. Failur to diagnose children coping with dyslexia is a potential risk of discrimination and social exclusion. Aim The aim of this Master thesis is to explore if the primary school teachers in Prishtina are conscious of the term dyslexia. This provides a better understanding of teacher’s perceptions about dyslexia and to which extent they are aware of it. An additional purpose is to investigate teachers’ awareness of their responsibilities to provide equal opportunities for these children. Method A qualitative research, using an open-ended and semi-structured questionnaire had been utilized to collect data about teacher’s awareness and knowledge concerning dyslexia and its issues. The texts provided by the surveys were subjected to thematic analysis. Result The results of the presented qualitative research helped to understand the awareness of the primary teachers in Prishtina concerning the term dyslexia. The findings showed that most of the teachers heard about dyslexia, but demonstrated clear misconceptions of what dyslexia is. Even though the majority of teachers had misconception of dyslexia, more than half of them considered their role as very important to provide equal opportunities for children coping with dyslexia. Conclusion One of the significant findings to emerge from this thesis is that the primary teacher's of Prishtina have misconceptions about dyslexia. The results of this study support the idea that due to the lack of knowledge among teachers about dyslexia, children coping with dyslexia might be at risk of discrimination and exclusion comparing to other children.

Before the German reunification, Dresden was a city of motorized traffic and cyclist were rare. But in the 90's began a change of transport policy and cycling became more important. This Master Thesis wants to show the current standing of cycling in Dresden. Thats why the results of the "SrV"-study should be analysed with regard to potential cyclists and their journeys. As methods were used a descriptive analysis and the linear discriminant analysis, both used at a personal and journey-specific level of data. As a result, Dresden have to do much more to become a good "cycling-city", so the bike-level wasn't really high in the year 2013. Instead the car is still the mostly used transport vehicle and the proportion in the Modal-Split is only slowly sinking. But this study shows typical characteritics of cyclists and cycling journays of Dresden, so there is a basis to get more people involved to cycle and become a more eco-friendly city.

Since the introduction in 1986 of Doi Moi program, a Vietnamese form of Perestroika, which was designed partly to reduce the role of state bureaucracy in the system, major economic reforms have been carried out in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV). However, while Vietnam's economic reforms have generated considerable interest, its limited political reforms, especially in the area of public administration, have not been a central concern among political scientists, historians and researchers. In their efforts to revitalise the state bureaucracy, reformers in Vietnam now recognise the importance of well qualified bureaucrats, and they inevitably have to face the old issue of how best to attract, motivate, train and retain public servants for a better government. This paper, based on the search through the maze of official documents in Vietnamese language, describes the SRV's political institutions, provides an overview of Vietnam's administrative system against the backdrop of the country's economic and political reforms, highlighting institutional interactions induced by reform imperatives, discusses recent administrative reforms emanating from the amended 1992 Constitution, and evaluates the effectiveness of current administrative reform strategies. Comments will also be made on . The roles and functions of central agencies in Vietnam . Policy making processes and paradigms . The 'emerging' dichotomy between policy and administration . The 'ministerial department' a la Vietnamienne . Machinery of government changes . Human resource management initiatives . The 'career service' nature of the Vietnamese public service, and, . Central versus provincial governments. Vietnamese Public Service is an important question and worthy of investigation because of the increasingly close bilateral relationship between Australia and Vietnam. Many Australian investors who have often been annoyed by unnecessary delays caused by bureaucratic red tape and corruption, are now keen to learn more about the policy making style of Vietnamese bureaucrats. Vietnam still displays many deliberate trappings of a country run in a highly centralist fashion. Its reorganisation strategy of the state's administrative system will continue to bear the socialist imprints. Dr David Marr of the Australian National University contends that layer upon layer of bureaucratic influence, from Chinese Neo-Confucian to French Third Republic to Soviet Stalinist, can be seen in Vietnam today. This paper argues that Vietnam's political and cultural legacies will continue to exercise significant influence, as they have in the past, on its public service's structures, strategies and ethics.

Abstract:
This thesis addresses the experimental investigation of the cavitation phenomenon and its main consequences on the normal operation of a safety relief valve (SRV). More particularly, limitation of the mass flux discharged and alteration of the hydraulic fluid forces behavior is of main interest for the proper design and sizing of such devices. In nuclear or thermal engineering systems, the use of SRVs is mandatory since it represents the ultimate protection device before an accident occurs, caused by a sudden pressurization of the system. A careful design and sizing of the SRV is therefore essential. The complete understanding of the physics taking place in the flow through the valve is required to guaranty and optimize the security of the protected process.

In order to investigate the above effects of cavitation in a SRV, two different orifice sized valves (API 2J3 type and a transparent model based on an API 1 1/2G3 type) are tested in two different experimental facilities expressly built for this purpose. Instead of using a spring, the design of both valves allows the adjustment of the disc at any desired lift. Hence the static behavior of the valves is investigated. Both facilities, operating at different magnitude scales, allow the study of single phase and cavitating flow conditions required to properly determine the most important hydraulic characteristics, and access on any potential scaling effect between both sized SRVs. Experimental techniques used for the determination of the hydraulic characteristics include temperature, flow rate, fluid forces and pressure measurements both upstream and downstream the test sections.

Results show a similar influence of cavitation on the flow characteristics of both valves, minimizing any potential scaling effect. The liquid pressure recovery factor FL, which is normally used to identify a choked flow condition in a control valve, is experimentally determined for the first time in a SRV. The existence of a local minimum located at small openings of the lift indicates a change on the flow characteristics of both valves, which is related to the location of the minimum cross section of the flow that does not remain constant for every lift position. An extended experimental campaign is performed to analyse the effect of the blowdown ring adjustment located around the nozzle of the API 2J3 valve. Results confirm that the position of the ring has an important contribution for the hydraulic forces acting on the valve disc.

In the second part of the research, precise optical diagnostic techniques are successfully applied in the transparent valve to locally characterize the flow topology in a SRV experiencing cavitation. These results are innovative and enrich the experimental database available in the literature for the characterization and understanding of the flow physics in such devices. In a first configuration, high speed visualization is applied to observe qualitatively the flow pattern and the inception of liquid vaporization. Particle tracking results suggest that vapor bubbles are formed in the core of vortices detached from the shear layers attached to the valve. These rotational structures promote lower pressure regions allowing the liquid to vaporize. In the second configuration, particle image velocimetry is applied to extract the velocity field in both single phase and cavitating flow conditions. Results of PIV confirm the existence of a submerged jet just downstream the minimum section. This jet is characterized by two non-symmetric shear layers at its sides. Under cavitation conditions, PIV results confirm that vapor bubbles are formed preferentially inside the jet shear layers. The phenomenon of mass flux limitation caused by cavitation is reproduced at small openings of the valve and interaction with the flow topology is highlighted. It is observed that limitation of the flow occurs when the vena contracta is shifted towards the minimum geometrical section of the flow. Finally, instabilities of the flow downstream the critical section are investigated in the frequency domain by means of time resolved data. Results suggest that vortex shedding mechanism is dominated by a constant Strouhal number which is slightly affected by the valve opening.

In the last part of the research, the methodology used in water is extended and applied to cryogenic liquids. Two different geometries are investigated experimentally and numerically using water and liquid nitrogen as working fluids. Results suggest that both the flow coefficient (determined at single flow conditions), and the liquid recovery factor (used to identify choked flows), are independent on the fluid properties and therefore, an hydraulic similarity relation can be proposed.

Redovisningskonsulter har tidigare inte haft en tydlig yrkesroll men den senaste tiden har förändringar skett i branschen och fler är att vänta inom en snar framtid. Studien syftar till att undersöka vad redovisningskonsulter anser om förändringarna och hur det kommer att påverka deras yrkesroll. Förändringarna studien behandlar är auktorisationen av redovisningskonsulter, slopandet av revisionsplikten och förändrade redovisningsregler. Den teoretiska referensramen ger läsaren en inblick i förändringarna och för att ta del av redovisningskonsulters åsikter har fyra personliga intervjuer genomförts.

Slutsatser som kan dras är att det i nuläget är upp till redovisningskonsulten hur stor förändring den gör i sitt arbete då de har valmöjligheter inom samtliga områden som studien tagit upp. Auktorisationen är ett välkomnat initiativ som ger redovisningskonsulterna en tydligare yrkesroll medan de förändrade redovisningsreglerna inte kommer tillämpas i stor utsträckning av respondenterna i studien. Slopandet av revisionsplikten kan komma att innebära ett större ansvar för redovisningskonsulterna men även här beror det helt på valen som görs. Studien tar upp de intervjuade redovisningskonsulternas åsikter och vilka val de gjort.

This thesis explored relationships (1) between composite and constituent processes of self-regulated learning (SRL) and three sport performance groups, (2) between SRL and different practice variables, and (3) whether these associations depended on an athlete’s consideration of future consequences (CFC). Athletes (N = 272; 200 males; 18-35 yrs; M practice = 13.55 hours/week) completed survey measures for SRL, weekly training including deliberate practice (DP), performance level and CFC. Higher scores in composite SRL were associated with a greater chance of belonging to an elite group, compared to a less-elite and a recreationally competitive group. Self-monitoring predicted greater likelihood of membership in less-elite and elite groups compared to the recreationally competitive group. Self-monitoring predicted greater engagement in total DP hours, and DP in supervised and unsupervised settings. Effort, self-efficacy, and planning were notable in some results, but contributions were less significant. CFC had no moderating effect, however it was correlated with SRL.

Vi har valt en kvalitativ ansats till vår studie, där utgångspunkten främst har varit djupgående intervjuer med revisorer och redovisningskonsulter på Grant Thornton, Öhrlings PricewaterhouseCoopers, mindre revisionsbyrå, mindre redovisningsbyrå samt branschorganisation Svenska redovisningskonsulternas förbund (SRF). 

Det kommer att ske en förskjutning av båda yrkesrollerna men det är ännu ovisst i vilken grad det kommer att ske.

Det är i dagsläget oklart vilka alternativ till revision som kommer att komma och en intressant studie skulle vara att göra en liknande undersökning när man vet alternativen till revisionen.

Denna uppsats bidrar till en ökad förståelse för yrkeskategorierna revisor/redovisningskonsult och deras nuvarande och framtida yrkesroller. Uppsatsen bidrar även till att ge en bild av den framtida konkurrensen och hur byråerna och SRF förbereder sig inför avskaffandet av revisionsplikten.

The aim of this thesis is to provide an objective view of the investment potential of Sri Lanka, including all the important factors that may affect the investment climate and to assess the current investment policy of Sri Lanka and propose some recommendations for improvement. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the impact of armed conflict on the investment environment, it discusses the institutional framework for investment, the legal framework for investment, and investment incentives provided to investors. It also defines the priority investment areas and the main obstacles for the development of investment in the territory. The practical part of the thesis compares the investment potential of Sri Lanka with three selected Asian countries to determine which areas need an improvement, necessary to increase the country's attractiveness for foreign investment. It also evaluates the investment potential of the country in the form of a SWOT analysis and provides recommendations for improvement.

Conscientes de crecientes tendencia mundial por la reducción del uso de plástico, este proyecto busca ser responsable con el medio ambiente, al no utilizar plástico en entrega de las prendas, sino en bolsas y colgadores de papel, así como en estuches reusables, además del uso de almidonantes naturales. Se ha considerado como público objetivo a las personas de 25 años a más, de nivel socio económico A, B y C, habitantes de Lima Moderna: (excepto La Molina) quienes buscan cuidar su aspecto a través de sus prendas de vestir de manera detallada, por lo cual, requieren de un servicio planchado profesional. Se demuestra que es posible recuperar la inversión en 1.48 años; de acuerdo al plan de operaciones y su proyección de ventas el proyecto es viable al haber realizado un análisis de sensibilidad del precio y también simulaciones en tres escenarios distintos, los cuales muestran cifras rentables.
This project reflects the research for the development of a project that seeks to satisfy the need for ironing service by delivery or at home. The project seeks to create and satisfy the direct demand by the ironing service; the service will be offered through its APP or traditionally by telephone in two ways: Delivery and ironing at home, where the value proposition is in addition to quality, flexibility of schedule (night and weekends) with appropriately selected and technically trained personnel. Aware of growing global trend about the reduction of plastic use, this project emphasize that it is environment responsible avoiding using plastic at the delivery of clothes, but specially using reusable covers, paper hangers, besides the use of natural starches. The target is people between 25 and 55 years old approximately, socio-economic level A, B and C, inhabitants of Modern Lima: San Isidro, Miraflores, Surco, Magdalena, Lince, Barranco, Pueblo Libre, Jesús María, Surquillo and San Borja (except La Molina) who looks for perfect good-looking, therefore, they look for a professional ironing service. It shows that it is possible to recover the investment in 1.48 years. According to the plan of operations and its sales projection, the project is viable having carried out an analysis of price sensitivity and simulations in three different scenarios, which show profitable figures.

Primate lentiviruses (PLVs), including human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1), HIV type 2 (HIV-2), and the simian immunodeficiency viruses (SIVs), cause persistent lifelong infections despite the presence of virus-specific adaptive immune responses. The target of antibodies is the viral envelope glycoprotein (Env), which is expressed on the surface of virions and infected cells as a trimer of gp120:gp41 heterodimers. SIV env sequence variation arising from evasion of antibodies is well established and closely mimics the pattern observed in HIV-infected human patients, yet despite the experimental advantages of the macaque model, the viral dynamics during acute and early infection leading to escape within env have not been well defined. To examine the evolutionary dynamics of SIV env during early infection (< 6 months post-infection), we obtained longitudinal plasma samples from a small cohort of SIVmac251-infected rhesus macaques. We deep-sequenced the env gene from longitudinal samples spanning acute and early infection (2-29 weeks post-infection) from four SIV-infected rhesus macaques and the inoculum (a swarm stock of uncloned SIVmac251) that was used to infect the cohort (by repeated low-dose challenge). Using high-resolution next generation sequencing (NGS), we captured a population bottleneck at the point of transmission from the stock into each animal, tracked the subsequent emergence of Env diversity from the initially homogeneous population, and correlated changes with the onset of Env-specific antibodies. We identified a pattern of common substitutions, insertions, and deletions in env of animals with antibody responses, which repeatedly emerge in SIV-infected primate hosts, and found that adaptive changes clustered within short regions of the V1 and V4 loops of gp120. Surprisingly, we found multiple large in-frame deletions in V4 emerge to become dominant in the viral population in two animals with detectable antibody responses to Env. Furthermore, we developed a novel deep sequencing based viral fitness assay (Fit-Seq) and measured the relative fitness of several key in vivo antibody escape adaptations. Using Fit-Seq, we found that Env adaptations in V1 and V4 that confer antibody escape had no associated fitness costs in the absence of antibody, but rather, replicated to the same level as SIVmac239 WT. Surprisingly, we also found that Fit-Seq was able to detect antibody-mediated neutralization of SIVmac239 even in cases where activity was undetectable by standard neutralization assays. Our observation of reproducible patterns of Env variation clustered in V1 and V4, together with measurements of relative fitness, suggest that antibody responses can select for mutations that confer viral escape yet have little or no associated replicative fitness cost in the absence of antibody, even while providing a clear fitness advantage in the environment of constant antibody selection encountered in vivo. Thus, sites that can change with little or no impact on relative fitness may have evolved as an immune evasion mechanism to facilitate rapid and early escape from Env-specific antibody.

Für die Verkehrsnachfragemodellierung stehen dem Planer sehr differenzierte Modellansätze zur Verfügung. Ein wesentliches Unterscheidungskriterium stellt dabei der Modellierungsgegenstand dar. Der Fokus der vorliegenden Arbeit ist auf makroskopische Verkehrsplanungsmodelle gerichtet. Es wird der Frage nachgegangen, in welcher Form die Ergebnisse großräumiger und lokaler Haushaltsbefragungen effizient bzw. sich gegenseitig ergänzend in Modellierungsaufgaben Einsatz finden können. Im Mittelpunkt der empirischen Datenanalyse steht die Frage, ob ein Unterschied in der Ausprägung zentraler modellierungsrelevanter Kenngrößen differenziert nach Raumtypen statistisch belegbar und planungspraktisch bedeutsam ist. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird auch die Auswirkung der komplexen Stichprobenpläne von MiD 2002 und SrV 2003 auf die Varianz der Parameterschätzung berücksichtigt. Ein in dieser Arbeit entwickelter, mehrstufiger Bewertungsalgorithmus, der dem Signifikanz-Relevanz-Problem hinreichend Rechnung trägt, bildet die Grundlage der Hypothesenprüfung. Er verbindet das Standardvorgehen (Signifikanztest) mit normativ gesetzten Effektgrößen und dem schätzerbasierten Vorgehen (Konfidenzintervalle). Eine besonders hohe Transparenz und Entscheidungskonsistenz erlangt der Ansatz dadurch, dass die Hypothesenprüfung auf Basis zweier voneinander unabhängig erhobener Untersuchungsgruppen (MiD, SrV) erfolgt. Die intensive Arbeit mit den Datengrundlagen MiD und SrV liefert eine Vielzahl von Erkenntnissen zur weiteren Qualifizierung des Erhebungsinstrumentes „Mobilität in Städten – SrV“. In Vorbereitung der im Jahre 2008 anstehenden Neuauflage der Erhebungsreihe wird nach Ansicht des Autors mit der Arbeit ein wesentlicher Impuls zur Weiterentwicklung der Methodik gegeben.

The thesis is an ethnohistorical study of one major pilgrimage site in Sri Lanka, known as Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak), where hundreds of thousands of pilgrims annually visit to worship the sacred footprint where is looted in the mountain top temple. This sacred footprint has different sacred connotations for Sri Lanka’s major religious groups (Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and Catholic). However, this pilgrimage site, which was considered a multi-religious site until the turn of the twentieth century, has now been constructed or ordered into an ethnic majoritarian Buddhist space. My thesis, therefore, concentrates in part on the historical process which has led to the construction of the pilgrimage site as a Buddhist space, and then locates this process within the wider context of the rise of Sinhala Buddhist nationalism in Sri Lankan. My work highlights the powerful role pilgrimage can play in particular religious discourses and the manner it legitimates certain ways of envisaging power and relationships of domination at particular conjunctures, which is clearly apparent in the contemporary Sinhala Buddhist cultural nationalism in Sri Lanka. This thesis is divided into three interconnected parts. The first part considers ‘knowledge production’ about Sri Pada while the second part explores the major competing discourses that have been arisen during its political and religious history. The final part is mainly focused on the style of religiosity and the social composition of pilgrims, and explores social factors in the practices of worship. One chapter deals with the style of “official” Buddhist religiosity found at this centre and two further chapters look at devotional and expressive forms of religiosity of pilgrims, which is oriented to the Buddha rather than the gods and as such is markedly different from that documented by anthropologists working in other parts of the island. The final chapter investigates links between devotional styles and the shifting socio-political contexts. The documentation of the prevailing styles of religiosity at Sri Pada enable me to show on one hand how such religiosity further undermines the broadly Weberian antinomies that have dominated the anthropology of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, and on the other hand the intensity or scale of Buddhicization of the historically viewed ‘sacred site’.

During August of 1996, I stayed in a series of SRO hotels in New York City leaving a book and diary behind when I checked out of each room. The books that were left in the rooms differ from one room to the other but all contain events and/or situations that could have happened in the very room. Diary entries were left behind between the pages of the books, like bookmarks, to indicate the appropriated passages and to impose my story onto the book's story. SRO, single room occupancy, refers either to an entire hotel or to a room within such a hotel. SRO's are the most inexpensive type of hotel. For social workers the term "SRO" has come to mean a single room occupant - not the bUilding but the person. These cheap single room hotels have been an element of American urban life for nearly two hundred years Nevertheless, they have been the target of an offiCial war within city development, neighborhood gentrification, initiated by people whose concept of "home" does not include the SRO with its accommodations of single rooms or suites, usually without kitchens and often with shared bathrooms. Few, if any, housing alternatives for these reSidents exist. When owners close a building, tenants are lucky if they can find a worse hotel at a higher rate. Myths circulates about today's hotel residents: all are supposedly all friendless, isolated, needy and disabled; all are presumably socially marginal; all are mildly psychotic; all are transients who never live anywhere for more than few months. I knew these myths were not entirely true. After all. I had lived in those hotels for quit a while before I start doing this project.

El trabajo desarrollado a continuación, tiene como principal objetivo efectuar la valoración de la empresa AES Panamá SRL y estimar el precio de su acción, a través de la metodología de flujos de caja descontados (FCD). Esta metodología se basa en el modelo multiperiodo de Modigliani-Miller, que consiste principalmente en modelar los flujos de caja libre de la compañía sobre un horizonte de tiempo determinado, para luego ser descontados a su valor presente. Además de estos flujos de caja, el valor presente debe ser determinado para flujos de caja más allá del horizonte de proyección comúnmente llamado valor terminal o perpetuidad. Bajo esta metodología determinar la tasa de descuento es uno de los factores fundamentales. Para esto se deben considerar aspectos claves como el riesgo, comportamientos históricos y el rendimiento mínimo esperado por compradores o vendedores con una expectativa mínima de rentabilidad. En esta valoración utilizamos una tasa de costo de capital, calculada a través de la fórmula WACC, la cual consiste en un promedio ponderado entre el costo de la deuda (kb) y la rentabilidad exigida por los accionistas (kp). Para realizar la valoración a través de esta metodología, es necesario determinar una estructura de capital objetivo a largo plazo para la compañía, la cual puede obtenerse en base al análisis retrospectivo de las cifras presentadas en sus estados financieros. Como parte de la valoración completa de la empresa bajo este método, debemos identificar y adicionar sus activos prescindibles (activos no necesarios para la operación de la empresa) y ajustar el exceso o déficit de capital de trabajo que haya al momento de la valoración. Como último paso en esta valoración, se determina el valor económico del patrimonio restando al valor obtenido de la empresa el valor presente de la deuda financiera al momento de la valoración. Adicionalmente a la valoración a través del método de FCD, estimaremos el valor de la empresa AES Panamá SRL y el precio de su acción por el método de múltiplos. Este método consiste básicamente en estimar el valor de una empresa analizando la relación de las razones financieras de compañías que pertenecen a la misma industria tomadas como benchmark. AES Panamá, es una empresa que genera y vende electricidad en el mercado panameño y mercado eléctrico regional (MER), es la mayor compañía de generación en Panamá en términos de capacidad instalada y energía despachada promedio, donde el 93% de la capacidad firme de las plantas de la Compañía se encuentra contratada bajo varios acuerdos de compra - venta de potencia y energía con compañías de distribución, grandes clientes y la compañía generadora AES Changuinola. La energía excedente es vendida en el mercado ocasional a los precios establecidos en el mismo (precio spot) Para la ejecución de esta valoración se usaron los estados financieros de la empresa y de compañías que componen la industria desde el 30 de junio de 2013 hasta el 30 de septiembre de 2017, por otra parte, se extrajeron los datos presentados por la Bolsa de Valores de Panamá, donde pudimos compilar la información sobre de la estructura de capital, el patrimonio económico, principales competidores de la industria y estructura de la deuda y demás información necesaria para poder analizar, modelar y realizar las proyecciones de los flujos de caja de la empresa con un horizonte de evaluación de 5 años. Ya finalizada la valoración de AES Panamá al 30 de junio de 2017 con diferentes metodologías, obtuvimos como resultados que con el método de flujos de caja descontados el valor de la empresa o del patrimonio es de USD $1,067,808 en miles y un precio por acción de USD $4.97, por otro lado, el método de valoración en base a múltiplos de la industria, el ratio que presenta una mejor estimación es el del precio sobre ventas (Price to sales ratio) arrojando una estimación del valor de la empresa por USD $1,032,656 en miles y un precio por acción de USD $2.98. Debido a que AES Panamá es una empresa que no tranza o cotiza sus acciones en la Bolsa, actualmente no contamos con el valor efectivo de la acción a la fecha, solo tenemos como referencia en valor contable del precio de la acción. A pesar de no tener información pública comparable de la compañía, luego de realizar los procedimientos de valoración y analizar las estimaciones, consideramos que los resultados son lo suficientemente precisos para confiar en los valores que arrojan las diferentes metodologías aplicadas

This report examines the role of the privatization in Sri Lanka and assesses its effectiveness. The focus was given for the evolution of privatization and how socio-political factors such as rent-seeking, inconsistency policy making, market competition, political uncertainty and role of supporting institutions have affected the privatization process. After the independence in 1948, several reforms have been taken place in Sri Lanka. In 1977, a market oriented policy package which brought huge amount of foreign aids into the country was introduced. Further the privatization in Sri Lanka can be addressed as: Sporadic attempt, Systematic approach and Structured approach. The appointment of short-term governments and changing of the leadership has always been a hurdle for a successful privatization in Sri Lanka. In order to establish a successful privatization, it requires having the changing of ownership from public sector to private sector, creating a competitive market environment and forming a proper institutional framework. Unfortunately, due to less emphasis was given to the latter two factors: the privatization has always given undesirable outcomes. In the whole history of privatization in Sri Lanka, the highest value for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) was recorded in 2008. It is clear that the reason for the FDI value escalation in 2008 is the improved confidence of foreign investors by addressing security concerns. In conclusion, it is time to investigate whether the current regulatory model is the most appropriate arrangement for the prevailing economic, social and cultural circumstances in Sri Lanka.
