Full textThe prodigious development of sports during the last 25 years is accompanied by an extension of the concept of dissimilar practices. Athletics, classical national sports, and leisure sports should be distinguished from each other. In our thesis, after having proposed a diachronical model of the reationship between these 3 categories and having listed the different work accomplished in the psychology and sociology of sports we propose a model describing the path taken by the subject in the frawork of the classical national sports and analyse the manner in wich athletics function, as well the particularities of leisure sports. The large factors wich direct the choice of the subject is studied. Culture first : research on the differentiated succes of countries in the olympic games showed that two sport ethics oppose each other. Environmental influence is theexamined. The social class to wich the subject belongs, his family, school prove to be pimordial elements. The media represents a powerful factor of influence in our civilisation the most important chaptor of the thesis is dedicated to this role, and several cases are presented - notably one conducted on a repre- sentative sample of the french population. This case clealy shows the impact of a series of television programs on the attitude of those who watch them. Finally, personal factors are examined. The role of women's condition are studied on the men and women of the french selection at the los angeles olympic games (1984). The study of the personality ends the thesis. A series of case stu- dies reveal that the classical approach with personality questionna- ries is inefficient. To conclude, we propose a few means of action for the teacher

Full textThe purpose of this research is locating when and in what circumstances high performance sport can overcome the inherent stage and become a new place in wich faith corroborated with the transcendental can be validated. Even if France turned away from religion and in Romania we are experiencing a return to it, both societies analyzed by us are secular and the beliefs of sportsmen are corrupted. Sport has been defined in our study as a meaning through wich the sportsman is aiming for fulfillment and a change of personality, an undiscovered and unpredictable transformation. The particularity of sport is that it offers not only a view of the world where the holy can become a guide that is bringing together reality to the dream of whatever he is willing and capable to become, but an accomplishement of an unknown mechanism that is bound to arrive

Full textThe expansion and increasing pluralism in the field of sports-related occupations and career-paths are both evident in the official labour market statistics. This view is supported by the analysis of publicly accessible career indexes since 1927, as well as employment data of the German Federal Employment Agency. The latter first evaluated occupations associated with sports from 1997 onwards. The public standing or recognition of occupations and career paths in the field of sports has since increased substantially. New occupations found their way into career indexes and there are also a growing number of new sports trends. Furthermore there has been an extraordinary increase in the field of part-time or low-income employment in the field of sport. A more moderate increase in the number of full-time positions has been noticed. This was also supported by the analysis of employment data covering the years from 1998 to 2004. In contrast, the Federal Employment Agency registered fewer open positions during 2006 than in 2000. This development was, however, not only observed in the field of sports associated occupations. Consequently the results suggest a comparatively positive labour market development for sports occupations. Yet, the great increase among the part-time and low-income positions indicates that almost no full-time, high-income positions have been generated. This simultaneously reduces the chances of reducing unemployment through promoting such occupations and careers.
Neveu, Quentin. "Buzz et sport : des liaisons dangereuses ? : analyse sémiotique, émotionnelle et virale du buzz sportif." Thesis, Dijon, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016DIJOL025.
Full textToday widely used by the media world, especially in sport, which uses and formats are moving towards the receiver, the term buzz paradoxically remains little studied by the transmission and also by the reception side. The buzz characterizes a reduction of length of media formats, promoting by the way an increased virality. Shorter formats are accompanied by an increase in supply, both produced by traditional broadcasters and by the users themselves, which give to the receiver an habit effect. This doctoral work shows that the sports buzz object is different from other media objects despite the importance of demographic factors in receiving messages. With this habit, the perception of sport values is smoothed and less prominent in the distribution of sports buzz. Through an empirical approach combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies, that work has enabled a semiotic characterization of different categories of sports buzz, depending on the degree of buzzability of the images. It also permit to draw a typology of receivers. This research showed that the reception of that kind of message as well as the sharing and its impact compared to the sport values don’t seem to depend on the individual data of each, but on the message content itself (celebrity, unexpected gesture, unrepeatable nature ...)

Full textData has massively invaded the world of high-level sport. Team sports such as football and rugby union, which are among the most publicized sports, are particularly concerned by this phenomenon. In addition, performance in a team sport is multifactorial and multidimensional and are deeply linked to the injuries. Sports scientists seek to understand and contextualize these performances as well as possible. To do so, a lot of data are needed and consumed. Those data are coming from many sources as they are the results of a global thinking between staff members surrounding the athletes. The participation of all the staff, and players, makes sports science answering the call of interdisciplinary research. In this context, biostatistics naturally find their place in direct collaboration with sports scientist, at the interface between data produced and the issues raised by the staff in order to help decision-making.Team sports involve individuals who play as a team. By definition, analyzing these sports requires both individual and collective assessment. It is this double analysis that was carried out during this thesis. The individualization of performance monitoring and health condition of players is clearly essential and it involves the development of statistical tools adapted to the issues raised. Z-score-based methods development for the analysis of biomarkers derived from longitudinal monitoring is an example of the reciprocal contribution that a collaboration between biostatistics and sports science can produce: a better understanding of players' state of health, which is essential for optimizing their performance and minimizing exposure to injury risk factors, and the prospects for optimizing existing statistical tools. The correction of a widely used test, the Mann-Whitney test also finds its place in the will to compare individual performance evolving over time, an issue encountered in detection, selection or rehabilitation protocols. Then, the collective dimension has been investigated. The individualization of the monitoring makes it possible to understand what is happening within each player and to personalize support by the staff. But what about team management? How can managing a group optimize its performance and impact the occurrence of injuries? Through two studies on rugby union, we have shown through the application of adapted statistical tools that the collective dimension of the analysis of the performance was essential to its understanding. Indeed, an optimized group management, favorable to the creation of collective experience, cohesion, and cleverly spreading playing time between the players contributes to better performance. The perspectives raised by these quantitative analyzes of collective experience in a collective sport were discussed. Including the impact on the occurrence of injuries which is a major issue raised by staffs because directly impacting the performance of the group. But the relationship between workforce management and injuries is poorly analyzed.Studies presented in this thesis illustrate some stapes of the necessary exchange between the different disciplines gathered around sports sciences and show how biostatistics fit into the decision-making process of the staffs

Full textThe object of the research aims to build the logic of internal organization of athletic games traditional of southern Korea. By " athletic games ", it is necessary to hear all games that imply decisive manner the motivity of players. The motivity is therefore here the relevant analysis criterion that is retained. Ninety games are analyzed. The undertaken work entered in open research perspectives by p. Palebas and is based on the main concepts of the science of the motor action. Each athletic game represents a micro-society characterized by its enclosure in the space and time, in the number of its participants and their modes of interaction. The independent variable " internal logic of the game" offer to the observer a variety of certified cases for a long time in the Korean society. The study of the athletic game organization allows to understand the mechanism of some social interactions and provides important information on the Korean company. Types of confrontations, contacts and observed violence, varieties of motor action production show the Korean company under a unusual lighting. Linked to confudanism, major system of thought in Korea concerned with the principles of good conduct, practical wisdom, and proper social relationships, the aristocratic class valorized the intellectual erudition work and granted only few interest to practice them corporal and to athletic games. But the analysis of the athletic popular practices show the limit of this representation by revealing violent and warlike collective games. The investigation of obtained results allows to validate the main hypotheses retained and confirmed that athletic games are relevant developers of the type of society that produces or adopts them by insuring their social distribution

Full textOver the last twenty years, the restructuring of top-level sport around the principles and mechanisms of the global market has been on an unprecedented scale. That is why we now describe the economic relationships that govern the sports system as the sports industry, in which the supporter has become a consumer, the club a brand, the sportsman a professional and sport itself a commodity. There are three economic dynamics that structure contemporary professional sport (labour, spectacle and lobalisation) and which open up market markets. In order to understand sport, which is made up of both an economic sector and a field of economic analysis, it is necessary to link sports economics to economics instruments. We have, for example, therefore studied the following: wage ratio and generating Superstar revenue in these celebrity markets; homo oeconomicus v homo sportivus for drug use; the two markets of televised sport and welfare economics; sporting and market globalisation and its informal economy; the interactions between economic development and sporting performance; the organisational models of team sports; and the concept of sport as a global public good

Full textThis research on Togo is aimed at contributing to the resolution of sports development problems and addressing its challenges in francophone African countries. The approach employed is multidisciplinary and comparative, based on the methods of sports geography. Moreover, it revisits key historical milestones in a Togolese context.Since the early twentieth century, the impact of three colonial dominations (German, English and French) was responsible for the origin, establishment and dissemination of sports in Togo. After 1960, the year of independence, sports development in continuity with the legacy of French colonial rule, was supported by the state and became a tool of social control by the authoritarian, military-style regime. The analysis of the current state of sports in Togo shows the centralization of state action on elite sports, the deployment of different sports markets and the emergence of different social phenomena such as appropriation and communal support.Comparison of the differences in methods of propagation identified in Togo and those at work in former West African French colonies such as Benin and Senegal exposes new opportunities: the use of physical activities, both traditional and modern for social mobilization and the maintenance of a sports elite. Both of which are complimentary and necessary for the development of sports for the long term
Pépin, Christine. "Le sujet en question : analyse critique des doctrines sur les activités physiques adaptées aux personnes handicapées." Strasbourg 2, 1996. http://www.theses.fr/1996STR20002.
Full textThis study consists of considering the subject in a handicapped situation and, more particularly, within the context of adapted physical activities (APA). The thesis favours an existential conception of the handicap based on the suffering of human beings. It demonstrates that the handicapped person is a subject, and that physical activities can be subjectivist activities. The first part comprises a dual faceted presentation of the handicap. On the one hand, it recounts the reality lived by the subject facing alterity, retraced by the account given and the life story. On the other, it studies the discourse of the legislator, the doctor, and the man of science who recognise the handicapped person by means of classification and labelling. The second part presents the doctrines regarding adapted physical activities. Firstly, the range of physical activities for handicapped persons termed "apa" is reviewed. Apa constitute contemporary objectivation social practices, and treatment of alterity by reducing the differences with a view to the readaptation and normalisation of the handicapped persons. This is followed by a critical analysis of the international scientific research into apa carried out by the international federation in apa (ifapa). In the corpus, two clear viewpoints emerge : a scientific line that considers the handicapped person as an "object of experimentation" through a positive paradigm, and a second founded on humanist morality that defends a "subject by right". To consider the subject from the reality experienced supposes changing the paradigm having its foundations in philosophy and psychoanalysis. With the aim of introducing subjectivity into apa. The third part proposes three theoretical approaches : those of phenomenology, michel foucault, and psychoanalysis. The subject is envisaged as interacting with the object, from the point of view of singularity and of the recognition of the difference and the lacking which are not be reduced or compensated for but taken into account. As a result, the approaches to be adopted in order to view the subject differently are no longer merely scientific but also ethical, aesthetic and artistic

Offended, because in the collective representations, this scene evokes the idea that the modern conditions of detention would be too flexible to be dissuasive. Nevertheless, a historical approach allows to notice that the introduction of the physical and sports activities in prison have first been motivated by disciplinary reasons. Then, in time, sport in custody also became an educational tool, taking part in the mission of rehabilitation prisoners. But, access to the sports activitries remains still very limited in the prison environment. To benefit the most gratifying forms of sports practice, performing a competitive sport and benefit from permissions to go sporting out, the penal and socio-demographic profile of the inmates should answer very selective criteria. Besides the prison constraints explain high defection rates. .

Full textNumerous authors have tried to give a signification to the blood lactate concentration value using exercise lacticaemia and power relationship. These studies have pointed out the concepts of aerobic anaerobic transition zone and "anaerobic threshold". But information’s given by threshold methods have showed that these methods were not reliable. The aim of the present study is : - to study the influence of a supramaximal pre-exercise on the lacti caemia kinetic during an exertion with an intensity that could be situated in the aerobic-anaerobic transition zone : and particular by defining this zone in comparison with Mader's maximal lactate steady state", and the individual anaerobic threshold" (iat) of Simon and al. - and to define a procedure which allow the determination of the maximal intensity corresponding to lactate steady state. The results obtained during 4 experimental protocols confirm that: 1- experimental conditions is the most important factor of lactate kinetic change (pre-exercise effects). 2- neither the iat, nor the "4 mmol. 1-1 threshold" can be considered as "maximal lactate steady state"

Full textThis work is an expert analysis of the orienting activity of professional midfield soccer players when they have not the ball in a set up attack situation. It is about a simulationnist approach with aims two goals: -to move on to a global explanation of the subjects cognitive functioning. - to develop a preliminary reflection to the realization of a computerised expert system able to pilot a player in a simulated game phasis. In choosing the expert analysis one formulates the hypothesis that subjects orienting activity is essentially built on knowledges. In accordance with the expert analysis focused on the psychological activities of speed process behaviours in dynamic environments one supposes that these knowledges can be of different types (strategic, tactic) and of a schematic nature. The method used combines systematic observation (of the situations and of the behaviours face to them) and verbal data collected facing the video-tape. It aims to uncover the knowledges used by the subject and the level of processing where they run. The results of the observations make appear regular associations between situations and behaviours. Nevertheless each situation is frequently linked to several behaviours (always the same) and the strengh of these associations can varie according to the situations. The schematas (knowledges) model is proposed to interpret these facts. The verbal data, in accordance with the observations already done on the experts, suggest a low consciousness level of the observed regularities. This allows to suppose that the knowledges used are highly automated. The results interpretation leads to a cognitive competence model outline of the subjects orienting activity

Full textThis thesis focuses on the careers of athletes who practice two multidisciplinary sports: combined events (heptathlon/decathlon) in athletics and the modern pentathlon. I adopt an interactionist approach that explores all the analytical and methodological implications contained in the notion of career (Becker, 1985; Darmon, 2003). In doing this, I study precisely these careers in high performance sports. Despite the multidisciplinary dimension of the analysed sports, the corresponding careers will still be based on the phase of specialisation. This follows phases of “discovery” and “introduction”, and precedes phases of “development” and “recognition” of an expertise. Therefore, multi-faceted versatility appears as a full speciality in and of itself that shall be thought of as a process within an institutional framework rather than as an intrinsic and individual characteristic. The thesis brings forth additional results about:- the social and institutional construct of disciplinary specialisation,- the processes of sports reorientation, - the fact that sport training creates specific social configurations, - gender inequalities in the recognition of the versatility of an athlete- and the need to conceptualise inverse family socialisations to understand parental commitments in the sports practice of their children. The analysis is based on a multi-sited ethnography (Marcus, 1995) which I have used within different federal structures, and where I have observed a total of 67 days of training and competitions, and developed 40 semi-structured interviews. I have also created several databases to implement sequence analyses, read federal documentation and made a discursive analysis of the televised transmission of 2016 Olympics Games

Full textThis thesis explores game dynamics and collective performance by alternating between analyses of traditional sports, such as handball, and e-sports, such as DotA2 and OverWatch. The aim is to segment the data processing process into several stages, each providing a specific understanding. By adopting a comparative approach between sport and e-sport, this work not only distinguishes the different stages of data processing, but also offers an overview of (e-)sport analysis. The first contribution is the development of techniques for representing handball matches using dynamic graphs, and the simplification of trajectories in DotA2 using geometric indices. The second contribution focuses on the definition and calculation of performance metrics, essential for machine learning. Expected goal (xG) models for handball and commitment factors in OverWatch have been developed as targets for algorithms. The third contribution is the creation of a tactical observatory dedicated to handball, and the study of geometric configurations in DotA2 that lead to key events. These analyses deepen our understanding of the tactics that influence the course of matches

Full textIn our daily life activities, we interact with the surrounding world, and we often coordinate our actions with those of others inorder to be more effective. However, in some cases, interference between participants occurs, resulting in inefficient or evendeleterious cooperation. However, very few studies have looked at this phenomenon, although it is a common situation, frequently encountered for example in the collective sports. This work aims at analyzing this interference, through the construction and use of collaborative situations in virtual reality, during a ball interception task. In the absence of any verbal communication, two participants had to tacitly decide who would perform the interceptive action, and who would not.Through the design of two complementary studies, we studied the impact of the conditions on the cooperation and the interference between the participants, during interceptions performed face-to-face or side-by-side. Our results suggest that team coordination emerges from direct interaction between participants during the trial. Moreover, we observed that although the division of the interception space is globally well defined, there is however an "area of uncertainty" where many trials are missed, showing participants’ difficulty in identifiying efficient patterns of interception in this area. Then, the interference that appeared between them depends on the task complexity (uncertainty on the action of the partner, visual informationavailable, mode of interception)

Full textPositive youth development is a strength-based approach focussed on the youth’s developmental potential. Organized sport presents many components making it a favourable setting for positive youth development (i.e., a specific set of rules, goal setting opportunities, development of interpersonal relationships), etc. More precisely, the high-school sport setting has been the main area of focus for the research in that field, since high-school students are in an important phase of their identity development. The university sport setting also presents many components that make it a favourable setting for positive youth development, such as a high level of responsibility for the athletes and strong bonds between the athletes and the coaches. Furthermore, sport within the university setting requires a sustained implication of the athletes over time. In this optic, the research project presented in this study has for objective to explore the experiences of student-athletes within the university sport setting in order to analyze if this setting is favourable to the life skills development. More precisely, the research question guiding the study was: do student-athletes develop life skills throughout their university careers, and if so, how? To answer these questions, a narrative study, intermixed with a multiple case study was conducted. Four participants (two athletes in basketball and two in volleyball) were questioned during semi-structured interviews. The results obtained presented three main components having a meaningful influence on their sporting and personal experiences as student-athletes: (a) the climate in which they evolved, (b) the life skills development, and (c) the adjustment to the university sport setting and its demands. This study concludes with a discussion on the results, the limits and the future research avenues.

No other field of experience as far as we know, has developed such a complete, protean and varied language of its own. It has perfectly followed the social and cultural evolution of sport, and its formation, characteristics and configuration have come to express the specificity of a field of experience. This vocabulary has sprung from the very history of this sportive phenomenon, its social and cultural values, its demand for a linguistic identity that would be the expression of its uniqueness, the behaviors dictated by the general language and the interactions with concepts from other vocabularies be they the root-one, or foreign, specialized or from a common language

This study brings to the fore, in different contexts of action, the role of the social agent, who is both producer of the social site of physical and sporting activities and him herself produced by this are carried out as a function of the protagonist's contraints and resources, of their successive positionning in time and space, and of their capacity to give form and meaning to these practicies

Full textMeanwhile the dominant sociology assumes that globalization generates astandardization process of sports cultures, in one hand, and that postmodern societies are onlypracticing leisure in a free and disinterested spirit in another hand, this thesis is structuredaround the main idea that such an analytical trends are not adequate in Africa globally and inCameroon in particular for two reasons at least. Firstly, even if the globalization’s effects onCameroonian sports is not to be denied, the study of sports activities in their nationalspecificities and given the singularities of the practices displays the fact that, as a total socialphenomenon, sport always carries the brand of the society where it takes place. Secondly, inless developed countries as in Cameroon case, sport leisure, in the extend that it generates thecontact between numerous actors with different social statuses, can’t be separated from thedaily problems experienced by individuals involved. It is moreover a social resource andcould be totally understood only if it is examined in it outcomes in terms of relations, socialnetworks, exchange of capitals, etc. Taking root in an interactionist perspective, andexploiting both a quantitative and qualitative methodology, observing the Cameroonian sportleisure led to notice that the practice of collective sport, as football, basketball and theweekend race, is not motivated by the mere needs of leisure and entertainment. It is also anarena (in the military and sociological extend) where actors endowed with calculatingrationalities are confronting themselves

In this context, the main aim of our research question is to know what are the factors which influence the decision of the spectators to attend sports events in Senegal; in other words, understand the motivations of the spectators to go (or not to go) to these events places. For that purpose, we analyzed the cases of three types of sports shows : (1) that of a modern import sport (the professional football championship); (2) that of a traditional sport (wrestling) and (3) that of a practice between communitarian tradition and modernity - "tropicalized" modern sport - (the popular Navetane championship), in order to highlight explanatory specificities. The results reveal six major factors which can influence the attendance of a sport event in Senegal: the proximity of the competition venues, the affirmation of identity, the passion for sport, the search for social interaction, the pursuit of pleasure and entertainment, emotional stimulation. At the same time, they allow us to highlight some criteria which can lead to better segment the offer of sports show: Their motivation to attend, their regularity, their degree of participation in the actions of “supporterism”, the link with violence , these are enough criteria that can help build an offer adapted to different categories of public. From a managerial point of view, this research work delivers information useful for the organizers. Indeed, they can allow them to have a better visibility of the demand (request): on the one hand a finer identification of public in the form of a typology, on the other hand, a characterization updated by their needs and expectations of their consumer behavior; this good knowledge of the market must lead them logically to more effective marketing strategies regarding segmentation of their offer and targeting of the various categories of public

Full textA first study gives handball throwing specificities with regards to other overarm throwings. For this, the kinematic and the dynamic analyses of three groups of handball throwers from different level have been driven. During handball throwing, the humeral external rotation is lower, the horizontal adduction of the arm is earlier and its linear velocity are singular. A second study gives the links between the performance parameters and the biomechanical parameters of the movement. Two different kinds of throw appear. The subjects who have the lower ball velocities have a greater humeral rotation but less efficient. This is due to a different mechanism used to induce this rotation. For this subjects, the horizontal adduction is principally used. The kinematic simulation of handball throwing has been made thanks to the modelling obtained by the kinematic analysis of handball throwing. This kinematic simulation has been used for other studies equally relative to handball

Full textThis thesis aims at analyzing the semiological and enunciative interviews conducted by choreographers of contemporary dance. It comes up under the theoretical framework and methodology of texts semiology which draws its inspiration from Anne-Marie Houdebine’s structural and interpretative indicial semiology. Our goal consists in analyzing the linguistic strategies implemented by the choreographers and the interviewers in order to highlight this artistic practice within the framework of the discussion. The interview on the contemporary dance was treated like our societal object. The analysis was divided into two analytical phases. The first one is descriptive and internal. The other is interpretative. The choice of an interpretative textual semiology made it possible to exceed simple formal and objective description of the corpus, to try to register our methodology within the framework of a cultural anthropology. The interpretative path deals with the questions of subjectivity and the imaginary production. It made possible a critical glance on the object along with a complex correlation between language, body and conscious and unconscious psyche

Full textThanks to the notions of power and network, an analysis by governance presents the French federations as autonomous sports institutions essential for the development of sport in France. They have their own prerogatives enabling them to carry out their economic and social functions. While they were originally set up to regulate national competitions, today they also act as economic agents by operating their sporting events and participating in the development of professional activities in competitive and consumer sport. To fulfil their functions, federations surprisingly adopt a standardised structure despite the freedom of association they enjoy. All tend to reproduce the same model superposing organs, even if some begin to emancipate themselves by adapting to their realities through responsible actions. But the autonomy of the French federations does not mean that they are independent. Their powers can only really be expressed after accepting the dependence on the powers of other public and private actors organising sport in networks. They accept that the State be presented as their guardian by the issuance of an approval and a delegation of ministerial powers. Nevertheless, this administration criticized because of a state law that has become inadequate, leads to the possibility of another type of relationship. But this new cooperation envisaged will be more relevant if it also integrates the dependence of French sports federations on transnational and national actors of the sports order. Indeed, they have an interest in receiving the power of international federations and the influence of other transnational actors and transferred regulators

Full textThe study tries to analyze the methods and the logic which govern spreading of the frame of the modern sports practices in Senegal, from the colonial context until the independent skate. It restores the various steps of the process of the adoption of a colonial sports policy which becomes a reality with the proclamation of sports charter of the AOF and of Togo in 1941. At the independence of 1960, Senegal inherits an experience which places it in the first rank of the rising African sport. Then, from 1966, begin a series of reforms ending in the formalization of a national sports policy with adoption of a charter of sport. The ideal of a practice " democratized, multi-field and decentralized " meet serious difficulties to be set up. The forms and the different meanings allocated to the practices by the main actors are evoked to try to understand the permanence of their spreading differentieated in the time and the space of the country

Full textIn 2014, the Fédération sportive et gymnique du travail (FSGT, aka Labour Sports and Gymnastic Federation) celebrated its 80th birthday. The anniversary year was the occasion for leadership to reflect upon the organisation’s “values” and “identity”, building on its rich history. To explore these questions, FSGT entered into a CIFRE (research training industrial convention) partnership with the author.A complex reality hides behind these generic terms: there is a perception among federations that relationships between federations and their committees, clubs, volunteers, and members are wearing off. Sports federations are questioning the legitimacy of the federative project and their ability to influence local sports and associative practices in the French sports system, where sports associations and engagement models are constantly evolving, and competition is rising. This three-year immersive work experience within FSGT exposed the author to the daily life of the federation’s actors, to observe them, and interact with them, to try and understand the evolution of this type of organisation. The author used what he defines as a “mirror effect” to further explore this immersive outlook onto sports federations, putting FSGT in perspective with two peer-based (Fédération sportive et Culturelle de France and Union française des oeuvres laïques d’éducation physique) and two delegate-based federations (Fédération française de la montagne et de l’escalade and Fédération française de football). In this thesis, the author explores the relationship of sports federations with the different kinds of actors they comprise, at local and national level. The author also analyses innovation processes in place in these organisations, their evolution, their rapport to association democracy, their political project, as well as sports activities developed within affiliated clubs (with a special focus on rock climbing and football activities)

Full textThe project SIMUSURF consists in using an hexapod to analyze the biomechanical response of a human subject positioned on the moving platform of the hexapod and submitted to a translation and/or rotation movement. This robot allows practice of sport activities where balanced specific conditions are required. Riding sports such as surf, ski or snowboard are sports for which special skills to steer the support (surfboard, snowboard or ski for instance) are needed. The development of a surf simulator, using the hexapod equipped with multi-axis force plates, will allow to study the relations between figure and biomechanical response of the surfer, the interindividual variability to execute a given movement and to optimise the actions of the person aiming at better performances. The development of this simulator from the hexapod has been approached from two aspects.- From an instrumentation and acquisition point of view, simulation of the trajectories corresponding to the movements of the set {surfer + board} on the ocean required the constitution of an experimental database to identify such a behavioral dynamic model of the interactions between the surfer, his board and the wave. For these in situ experimentations, instrumentation of a surfboard was required. The design of an instrumented board and the implementation of an acquisition protocol in the extreme conditions due to the marine environment have been one of the technological hurdles associated.- From a mechanical and robotics point of view, it was essential to optimize the control of the hexapode (a total of 6 actuators with the potential speed of 5 m/s) to reach the desired trajectory or multiaxial efforts to impose in the special case of a force complex command. To be realistic, a surfing simulator designed with an hexapod had to be able to reproduce the complex movements and high dynamic of a surfboard on a wave and submitted to the efforts of surfer. These specifications were reached by taking account of existing dynamic coupling phenomena between actuators and implementing effective multivariable control approach: CRONE approach synthesizing control laws both powerful and robust, that is resistant to imperfect knowledge of the controlled system

Full textWe first review the underdevelopment related demographic, school, sanitary, economical and social problems that plague senegal, and expose the conditions of emergence of sport in this former french colony of western africa. We then demonstrate that public authorities have endowed the country with juridical, economical, technical and human structures and defined action programs in the name of sport public politics. Modern sport was introduced in senegal by the settles. The study of its structuring reveals that it has been organized according to the french model. Such a transposition gave birth to a very ambitious project, albeit very distant from the social, cultural, economical and religious realities of the country. Analysis of the sport public politics between 1960 and 1998 underscores the inefficiency of the juridical framework of these politics. Laws, decrees, and orders do not suffice to develop and promote sport. By themselves, they do not enable one to consider sport as a factor of crystallization of a national identity feeling. Using a sociopolitical approach and thanks to the concepts of social trajectory, habitus, and capital, the present research yielded both an objective and a subjective evaluations of the sport politics by articulating two theoretical models. On the basis of a sequential analysis, jone's model of politics analysis enabled the objective evaluation, revealing the impact of the 1960-1998 sport politics in terms of a accomplishments, human resources, equipment, and their variations according to the territories and sport's groups. Bourdieu's modeling of socail confirmed the plurality of judgements of social actors, and showed that judgements are function of social properties, belonging spaces and situational properties

Full textFootball is no longer a common place in sub-saharan Africa, it has become a force field, we analyzed the social functions of dominance in the elite sport in emerging Africa. It appears that the motivations of the people are determined by their position in the social space, and our investigations show that the strategy of each social worker to climb atop the social pyramid is linked not only to human capital, economic capital, political capital, social capital and cultural capital, but il is also conditioned by the political and economic times. Like some icons of African football, we thought, because of the sporting and social trajectories, that power is not a force but a "whole" within the sense of a social organization. That is to say, a structure in which we find micro-formaI and informai structures such as fan clubs. The problem of social prestige in Cameroon is no longer be demonstrated. However, it is important to define what social promotion, social domination, social climbing, or simply social success is. That's precisely what we tried to do in this work
