Abstract:
Wind shear has been believed as the main mechanism behind the occurrence of E-sporadic layer in 90-120 km altitude. The occurrence of this layer is related to gravity wave, tidal wave, and global-scale atmospheric wave (planetary wave) with different periodicity. Meteor showers that happen annually may also influence the occurrence probability of E-sporadic layer, while Solar and geomagnetic activity contribute less significantly. In this article, E-Sporadic data obtained in Balai Pengamatan Atmosfer dan Antariksa Sumedang, Jawa Barat in 2015 was studied. The main purpose of the study is to understand the characteristics and occurrence pattern of E-sporadic layer in low-latitude region. Conclusions can be deduced from the conducted analyses. Percentage of occurrence of E-sporadic layer (P) is relatively high during May-July and December-January period. The occurrence of E-sporadic layer with critical frequency higher than 2 MHz can be as high as 97%. The observed diurnal variation is the increase of P before midday followed by a significant decrease at 12:00 local time. The value of P rises again and peaks at around 16:00 local time and then declines as the photoionization rate diminishes through time. During May-July, E-sporadic layer with frequency above 6 MHz also occurred in night time. Further examinations are required to analyse the relation between E-sporadic occurrence during those time windows and the activity of high-flux meteor shower. Besides, diurnal and seasonal variations concluded in this study are expected to become rerference for space weather forecast which is demanded by stakeholders.

Abstract:
Meteor showers have been believed as one important source of metalic ion which is accumulated at ~100 km altitude and triggering the emergence of E-Sporadic layer. In this study, meteor showers catalogue derived from the observations in visual and radio windows were used to establish a model and temporal map of annual meteor showers expected to be observed in Sumedang, West Java. The map was compared to ionospheric observation data acquired in Sumedang throughout 2014-2015 in order to understand the relation between the showers of various fluxes to the occurrence of E-Sporadic layer. The analysis revealed that several meteor showers with geocentric speed of vG < 50 km/s possibly influence the occurrence of E-Sporadic layer, while the showers with vG > 50 km/s impact insignificantly. However, the seasonal variation of the percentage of E-Sporadic occurrence is far more dominant compared to its fluctuation during meteor showers.

AbstractLand registration is first done sporadically and systematically. Land registration aims to guarantee and provide legal certainty to landowners. The phenomenon that occurs in the practice of land registration causes problems for landowners who will carry out land registration.Government Regulation Number 24 of 1997 concerning Land Registration that can be carried out sporadically and systematically provides solutions to the community to be able to determine one of the options for the two types of land registration. In this case it is expected that landowners can have strong evidence against ownership of the land. The purpose of this research is to find out about the implementation of sporadic land registration for the first time and the way the community first registers land sporadically and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of land registration, the first sporadic land registration can be submitted by the right holder or through their attorney to the Land Office. Whereas the community's way of registering land is done sporadically and systematically. For people who do sporadic land registration can be done directly by the land owner or through the PPAT Office. Keywords : Land Registration, Committe

A double-laser beam lidar to measure potassium (K) layer at Beijing (40.5° N, 116.2° E) was successfully developed in 2010. The parameters of sporadic Ks layers and their distributions were given. The seasonal distribution of Ks occurrence frequency was obtained, with two maxima in July and January. The seasonal distributions of sporadic Es layer occurrence frequency over Beijing differ from those of Ks. However, the good correlation between Es and Ks in the case-by-case studies supports the mechanism of neutralization of metal ions in a descending Es layer.

Abstract:
A comparison has been made between recurrent (associated with high-speed streams from coronal holes) and sporadic (caused by interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs)) Forbush decreases (FDs) in solar cycles 23 and 24 (as well as in the maxima of these cycles and the minimum between them). Forbush Effects and Interplanetary Disturbances database created and maintained in IZMIRAN provided a large number of events (about 1700 isolated FDs, among them 350 recurrent FDs, and 207 sporadic FDs selected with high reliability), which allowed us to apply statistical methods. The results revealed that sporadic FDs prevailed in the maxima of the cycles; recurrent FDs, in the minimum between the cycles. FD parameters (magnitude, decrease rate, anisotropy) are larger for sporadic events than for recurrent ones, especially in the maxima of the cycles. FD magnitude is greater in the maxima than in the minimum for sporadic events, and it changes weakly for recurrent ones. The solar wind velocity is on average greater for recurrent events than for sporadic ones; it is larger for recurrent FDs in the minimum and for sporadic FDs in the maxima. The magnetic field is stronger for sporadic FDs than for recurrent ones in the maxima and it is approximately equal for both types of events in the minimum. The magnetic field of ICMEs is weaker in the current solar cycle than in the previous one. The duration of the FD main phase is less in the maxima for both types of events; sporadic FDs developed significantly faster than recurrent ones in the maximum of cycle 23.

Abstract:
Sporadic hemiplegic migraine (SHM) is defined as migraine attacks associated with some degree of motor weakness/hemiparesis during the aura phase and where no first degree relative (parent, sibling or child) has identical attacks. The present review deals with recent scientific studies according to which: The SHM prevalence is estimated to be 0.005%; SHM patients have clinical symptoms identical to patients with familial hemiplegic migraine (FHM) and significantly different from patients with migraine with typical aura (typical MA); SHM affected had no increased risk of migraine without aura (MO), but a highly increased risk of typical MA compared to the general population; SHM patients only rarely have mutations in the FHM gene CACNA1A; SHM attacks in some cases can be treated with Verapamil. The reviewed data underlie the change in the International Classification of Headache Disorders 2nd edition where SHM became separated from migraine with typical aura or migraine with prolonged aura. All cases with motor weakness should be classified as either FHM or SHM.

AbstractNEOs come close to the Earth's orbit so that any dust ejected from them, might be seen as a meteor shower. Orbits evolve rapidly, so that a similarity of orbits at one given time is not sufficient to prove a relationship, orbital evolution over a long time interval also has to be similar. Sporadic meteoroids can not be associated with a single parent body, they can only be classified as cometary or asteroidal. However, by considering one parameter criteria, many sporadics are not classified properly therefore two parameter approach was proposed.

In order to improve real-time of MVB sporadic data communication, we study and analysis MVB sporadic data communication scheduling modelling and collision event arbitration mechanism, the communication maximum arbitration delay is closely related with concurrent message events, binary tree search algorithm mechanism bring out big communication delay, so, we makes use of multi-optimizing strategies, applying dynamically assigned communication of sporadic data and slave frame stuffing of process data, decreasing communication delay of sporadic data and making sure that emergent sporadic data firstly send, it is a good try to optimize real-time of sporadic data.

Abstract. In the mid-latitude E-region there is now evidence suggesting that neutral winds play a significant role in driving the local plasma instabilities and electrodynamics inside sporadicE layers. Neutral winds can be inferred from coherent radar backscatter measurements of the range-/azimuth-time-intensity (RTI/ATI) striations of quasi-periodic (QP) echoes, or from radar interferometer/imaging observations. In addition, neutral winds in the E-region can be estimated from angle-of-arrival ionosonde measurements of sporadic-E layers. In the present paper we analyse concurrent ionosonde and HF coherent backscatter observations obtained when a Canadian Advanced Digital Ionosonde (CADI) was operated under a portion of the field-of-view of the Valensole high frequency (HF) radar. The Valensole radar, a mid-latitude radar located in the south of France with a large azimuthal scanning capability of 82° (24° E to 58° W), was used to deduce zonal bulk motions of QP echoing regions using ATI analysis. The CADI was used to measure angle-of-arrival information in two orthogonal horizontal directions and thus derive the motion of sporadic-E patches drifting with the neutral wind. This paper compares the neutral wind drifts of the unstable sporadic-E patches as determined by the two instruments. The CADI measurements show a predominantly westward aligned motion, but the measured zonal drifts are underestimated relative to those observed with the Valensole radar.

Abstract:
Abstract. We report on the observations of 188 sporadic layers of either Ca atoms and/or Ca ions that we have observed during 112 nights of lidar soundings of Ca, and 58 nights of Ca+ soundings, at Kühlungsborn, Germany (54° N, 12° E). The Ca+ soundings have been performed simultaneously and in a common volume with the Ca soundings by two separate lidars. Correlations between sporadic neutral and ionized metal layers are demonstrated through four case studies. A systematic study of the variations of occurrence of sporadic Ca and Ca+ layers reveals that neutral and ionized Ca layers are not as closely correlated as expected earlier: (a) The altitude distribution shows the simultaneous occurrence of both sporadic Ca and Ca+ layers to be most likely only in the narrow altitude range between 90 and 95 km. Above that region, in the lower thermosphere, the sporadic ion layers are much more frequent than atom layers. Below 90 km only very few sporadic layers have been observed; (b) The seasonal variation of sporadic Ca layers exhibits a minimum of occurrence in summer, while sporadic Ca+ layers do not show a significant seasonal variation (only the dense Ca+ layers appear to have a maximum in summer). At mid-latitudes sporadic Ca layers are more frequent than sporadic layers of other atmospheric metals like Na or K. For the explanation of our observations new formation mechanisms are discussed.Key words. Ionosphere (ion chemistry and composition; ionosphere-atmosphere interactions; mid-latitude ionosphere)

Abstract:
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder and common form of dementia in elderly patients accounting for 60 to 80 percent of cases worldwide. The hallmark of AD is deposition of neurofibrillary tangles and amyloid plaques in the brain that lead to neurotoxicity and irreversible loss of neurons in the hippocampus and cortex. Based on the onset of age, AD can be classified into early onset (<65 years) and late-onset>≥ 65 years) groups. Genetic factors such as gene mutation as well as environmental factors both can trigger the disease pathogenesis. The preliminary diagnosis can be performed based on the specific clinical symptoms and genetic analysis can help in establishing the familial cases. Treatments are suggested according to the stages of AD, such as mild, moderate, and severe, based on the clinical symptoms and the diagnosis of the patients. This review focuses on overall AD.

Abstract:
Abstract Background In the United States, surveillance of norovirus gastroenteritis is largely restricted to outbreaks, limiting our knowledge of the contribution of sporadic illness to the overall impact on reported outbreaks. Understanding norovirus transmission dynamics is vital for improving preventive measures, including norovirus vaccine development. Methods We analyzed seasonal patterns and genotypic distribution between sporadic pediatric norovirus cases and reported norovirus outbreaks in middle Tennessee. Sporadic cases were ascertained via the New Vaccine Surveillance Network in a single county, while reported norovirus outbreaks from 7 middle Tennessee counties were included in the study. We investigated the predictive value of sporadic cases on outbreaks using a 2-state discrete Markov model. Results Between December 2012 and June 2016, there were 755 pediatric sporadic norovirus cases and 45 reported outbreaks. Almost half (42.2%) of outbreaks occurred in long-term care facilities. Most sporadic cases (74.9%) and reported outbreaks (86.8%) occurred between November and April. Peak sporadic norovirus activity was often contemporaneous with outbreak occurrence. Among both sporadic cases and outbreaks, GII genogroup noroviruses were most prevalent (90.1% and 83.3%), with GII.4 being the dominant genotype (39.0% and 52.8%). The predictive model suggested that the 3-day moving average of sporadic cases was positively associated with the probability of an outbreak occurring. Conclusions Despite the demographic differences between the surveillance populations, the seasonal and genotypic associations between sporadic cases and outbreaks are suggestive of contemporaneous community transmission. Public health agencies may use this knowledge to expand surveillance and identify target populations for interventions, including future vaccines.

Abstract:
ObjectiveAmyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disease of motor neurons with a median survival of 2 years. Familial ALS has a younger age of onset than apparently sporadic ALS. We sought to determine whether this younger age of onset is a result of ascertainment bias or has a genetic basis.MethodsSamples from people with ALS were sequenced for 13 ALS genes. To determine the effect of genetic variation, age of onset was compared in people with sporadic ALS carrying a pathogenic gene variant and those who do not; to determine the effect of family history, we compared those with genetic sporadic ALS and familial ALS.ResultsThere were 941 people with a diagnosis of ALS, 100 with familial ALS. Of 841 with apparently sporadic ALS, 95 carried a pathogenic gene variant. The mean age of onset in familial ALS was 5.3 years younger than for apparently sporadic ALS (p=6.0×10−5, 95% CI 2.8 to 7.8 years). The mean age of onset of genetic sporadic ALS was 2.9 years younger than non-genetic sporadic ALS (p=0.011, 95% CI 0.7 to 5.2 years). There was no difference between the mean age of onset in genetic sporadic ALS and familial ALS (p=0.097).ConclusionsPeople with familial ALS have an age of onset about 5 years younger than those with apparently sporadic ALS, and we have shown that this is a result of Mendelian gene variants lowering the age of onset, rather than ascertainment bias.
