Abstract:
The supplier selection process can be done using multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods in firms. There are many MCDM Methods, but firms must choose the method suitable with the firm condition. Company A has analyzed supplier’s ranking using TOPSIS method. TOPSIS method has a marjor weakness in its subjective weighting. This flaw is overcome using AHP method weighting having undergone a consistency test. In this study, the comparison of supplier’s ranking using TOPSIS and AHP-TOPSIS method used correlation test. The aim of this paper is to determine different result from two methods. Data in suppliers’ ranking is ordinal data, so this process used Spearman’s rank and Kendall’s tau b correlation. If most of the ranked scored are same, Kendall’s tau b correlation should be used. The other way, Spearman rank should be used. The result of this study is that most of the ranked scored are different, so the process used Spearman rank p-value of Spearman’s rank correlation of 0.505. It is greater than 0.05, means there is no statistically significant correlation between two methods. Furthermore, increment or decrement of supplier’s ranking in one method is not significantly related to the increment or decrement of supplier’s ranking in the second method

Abstract:
The small sample properties of a variant of the Spearman rank correlation coefficient applied in the time-series context were investigated through Monte Carlo methods. The rank method ( r1S) has even greater bias than the highly biased conventional parametric procedure; a traditional test of H0: ρ1 = 0 based on ( r1S) yields unacceptable properties. Empirical small sample distributions associated with the rank coefficient differ markedly from the distributions predicted by asymptotic theory. It is concluded that neither rank nor conventional parametric estimators and hypothesis tests are appropriate for very small samples in applications of time-series analysis that have been recommended in the behavioral and social science literature.

Abstract:
In this study, we developed a modified version of the CRiteria Importance Through Inter-criteria Correlation (CRITIC) method, namely the Distance Correlation-based CRITIC (D-CRITIC) method. The usage of the method was illustrated by evaluating the weights of five smartphone criteria. The same evaluation was repeated using four other objective weighting methods, including the original CRITIC method. The results from all the methods were further analyzed based on three different tests (i.e., the distance correlation test, the Spearman rank-order correlation test, and the symmetric mean absolute percentage error test) to validate D-CRITIC. The tests revealed that D-CRITIC could produce more valid criteria weights and ranks than the original CRITIC method since D-CRITIC yielded a higher average distance correlation, a higher average Spearman rank-order correlation, and a lower symmetric mean absolute percentage error. Besides, additional sensitivity analysis indicated that D-CRITIC has the tendency to deliver more stable criteria weights and ranks with a larger decision matrix. The research has contributed an alternative objective weighting method to the area of multi-criteria decision-making through a unique extension of distance correlation. This study is also the first to propose the idea of a distance correlation test to compare the performance of different criteria weighting methods.

Abstract:
Objectives Expectancy has been shown to affect patients’ responses to acupuncture therapy. However, no validated measure of expectancy for acupuncture is available in the Korean language. The Acupuncture Expectancy Scale (AES), a 4-item self-reporting questionnaire, is the validated instrument for measuring expectancies regarding acupuncture therapy. We translated the AES into Korean and examined its test–retest reliability and construct validity. Methods The AES was translated using a forward and backward translation procedure. Internal consistency was assessed in 275 participants with item-total correlations. Construct validity was also assessed by performing principal component analysis and correlating scores on the scale with the participants’ intention to receive acupuncture therapy. Test–retest reliability was assessed in 33 participants by calculating Cronbach's α and Spearman rank correlation coefficients. Results Internal consistency was high (Cronbach's α=0.910). Principal component analysis showed that expectancy of acupuncture treatment accounted for 79.2% of the variance. The AES was positively correlated with participants’ intention to receive acupuncture treatment (r=0.695, p<0.001). Test–retest reliability in 33 of the 275 participants was adequate, with the Spearman rank correlation coefficient ranging from 0.500 to 0.737 (p<0.001). Conclusions The Korean version of the AES is a valid and reliable instrument for measuring patients’ expectancies regarding acupuncture treatment in the Korean population.

We agree with the results of their research, but there are things that need to be clarified in relation to the selection of the Spearman-rank correlation as an analytical tool, because the selection of this analysis is without the normality test of the data. Spearman-rank correlation is useful for non-normally distributed continuous data; can be used for ordinal data; and is relatively robust for outliers.

Abstract:
The present research works were conducted to find out the variation in morphological traits and their relationship in Brassica materials at C7 (Colchiploid) alloplasmic populations and F5 generations with respect to their parents. Among the 19 Brassica progeny lines representing the cross products (Brassica napojuncea) of C7 generation of Brassica napus and Brassica juncea (BINA sharisha 5 x Daulot: colchiploid-C7) and F5 generations with their parents, inter-species EG2 (Brassica napus x Brassica juncea) and EG1 (Brassica napus x Brassica juncea) showed better agronomic performance. Phenotypic characters of the genotypes were closely associated with each other for both normal correlation coefficients and Spearman’s rank correlation coefficients. The total relative ranking ranged from 1 to 20 and the first rank was estimated for the genotype EG2 genotypes. The last rank was estimated for the genotype ED1 (Brassica napus x Brassica napus). Out of 55 associations, which found in the correlation study, 10 associations were found highly significant at the morphological level. Flower set per plant (self) showed highly significant positive association with total number of siliqua per plant (self) (r = 0.934**) but the significant negative association of the total number of siliqua per plant (self) with siliqua length was very strong (-0.489*). There was a genetic basis of association in most of the cases of pairs of relations. The Spearman’s rank correlation test was studied to compare the morphological characterization for distinguishing genotypes. In this present study, this test presented 12 relationships that showed 10 positive significant and two negative significant correlations. In normal correlation coefficients 10 significant associations were found but 12 associations in Spearman’s rank correlation. In these techniques, number of flower set per plant (self) had highly significant positive correlation with total number of siliqua per plant (rs = 0.817**). The days to 50 % flowering and number of seed per siliqua (self) had significant negative correlation with number of seed per siliqua (open) (rs = -0.546**) and number of flowers set per plant (open) (rs = -0.563*), respectively. Finally, the study suggested that some yield related traits such as flower set per plant, number of siliqua per plant, seed per siliqua and days to 50% flowering can be selected and used in breeding program for future increasing the grain yield of rapeseed.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: AGR2 expression is associated with luminal breast cancer. Overexpression of AGR2 is a predictor of poor prognosis. Several studies have found correlations between AGR2 in disseminated tumor cells (DTCs) in breast cancer patients. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to determine the correlation between anterior Gradient2 (AGR2) expression with the incidence of distant metastases in luminal breast cancer. METHODS: This study was an observational study using a cross-sectional method and was conducted at Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital and the network. ELISA methods examine AGR2 expression from blood serum of breast cancer patients. To compare the AGR2 expression in metastatic patients and the non-metastatic patient was tested with Mann Whitney test. The correlation of AGR2 expression and metastasis was tested with the Rank Spearman test. RESULTS: The mean value of AGR2 antibody expression on ELISA in this study was 2.90 ± 1.82 ng/dl, and its cut-off point was 2.1 ng/dl. Based on this cut-off point value, 14 subjects (66.7%) had overexpression of AGR2 serum ELISA, and 7 subjects (33.3%) had not. The mean value AGR2 was significantly higher in metastatic than not metastatic, 3.77 versus 1.76 (p < 0.01). The Spearman rank test obtained a p-value for the 2 tail test of 0.003 (p < 0.05), which showed a significant correlation of both, while the correlation coefficient of 0.612 showed a strong positive correlation of AGR2 overexpression and metastasis. CONCLUSIONS: AGR2 expression is correlated with metastasis in Luminal breast cancer.

The selection included 68 subjects of both genders at the age over 18. According to the study results, from the point of view of substantive validity, determined by the Delphic method, the “Congruity and Advantages” Test allows assessing the severity of two characteristics of the subjects: 1) subject's possible preferences of behavior aimed at acquiring advantages, 2) subject's preference of behavior aimed at matching one's choice with the interests of other people and/or circumstances. Criterion validity of the test is defined as sufficiently high. On an advantage scale R Spearman = 0,77 (at р<0,0001). On a scale of congruity of their behavior with others Spearman R =0,68 (at р<0,0001). Retest reliability after the study by the methods of rank correlation indicated R Spearman = 0,83 (at р<0,005). In addition, the monitoring results of the parties' tendency to violate agreements already reached reveal a significant correlation between the indicators of the “Congruity and Advantages” Test and the number of violations of agreements reached - Spearman R = 0,69 (at р=0,0001). Thus, the “Congruity and Advantages” Test can be practical in mediation as both to predict the tendency of the parties to harmonize their actions with others or to prefer their advantages, and to predict the probability of preserving agreements already reached.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Dyspnea, or difficult breathing, is common in patients receiving mechanical ventilation; however, dyspnea is not routinely or systematically measured. OBJECTIVE: The primary purpose of this methodological study was to evaluate the test-retest reliability of 5 dyspnea rating scales and the criterion validity of 4 dyspnea rating scales in patients receiving mechanical ventilation. The secondary purpose was to examine the correlations between each of these 5 rating scales and physiological measures of respiratory function. METHODS: The convenience sample consisted of 28 patients on mechanical ventilation during their hospitalization in the intensive care units of a large, inner-city hospital. Patients rated their dyspnea twice at 30-minute intervals on the visual analogue scale, the vertical analogue dyspnea scale, the modified Borg scale, the numerical scale, and the faces scale. Test-retest reliability was computed by using the intraclass correlation coefficient. Criterion validity was evaluated by using the Spearman rank-order correlation coefficient. RESULTS: The 5 rating scales had acceptable test-retest reliabilities, with intraclass correlation coefficients ranging from 0.81 to 0.97. Criterion validity of the 4 scales also was acceptable, with Spearman rank-order correlation coefficients from 0.76 to 0.96. The rating scales were not correlated with most of the physiological variables. At least half of the patients reported moderate to severe dyspnea. CONCLUSION: The scales showed acceptable reliability and validity, and they will be useful in quantifying dyspnea experienced by patients receiving mechanical ventilation. Further work is needed to evaluate the extent and the severity of dyspnea in such patients in order to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.

Abstract:
Introduction: Tuberculosis is a disease whose transmission rates continue to increase. Tuberculosis treatment requires support from family, level knowledge and good self-efficacy because the minimum treatment period of 6 months makes TB clients need to be strengthened to be able to undergo complete treatment and successfully recover. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the level of knowledge and family support with self-efficacy in tuberculosis patients at the Sawan I Community Health Center. Self-efficacy is an individual's belief in managing certain behaviors to achieve healing. Methods: This research is a correlation study with cross-sectional design. The samples used were 53 samples selected by nonprobability sampling with a purposive sampling design. The data collected through a questionnaire and obtained were tested with the Spearman rank test. From the correlation test with the Spearman rank test. Results: Correlation coefficient values indicate the relationship between knowledge and self-efficacy (r = 0.450) and family support with self-efficacy (r = 0.555), which means there is a strong and positive relationship or the better the level of knowledge and family support for TB sufferers, the better the self-efficacy of TB sufferers. Conclussions: The level of knowledge and family support are very important to maintain the self-efficacy of tuberculosis patients.

Abstract:
The Spearman’s rho is a measure of the strength of the association between two variables. There are some extensions of this coefficient for the multivariate case. Measures of the multivariate association which are the generalisation of the bivariate Spearman’s rho are considered in the literature. These measures are based on copula functions. This article presents a proposal of the testing for the multivariate Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. The proposed test is based on the permutation method. The test statistic used in the permutation test is based on the empirical copula function. The properties of the proposed method have been described using computer simulations.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: The imbalance between the increase in the overall volume of patients at the emergency department (ED) with the capacity of the emergency unit can lead to overcrowded conditions in the ED. Factors that cause ED density include lack of beds for inpatients, increased overall patient volume, increased non-emergency patient visits, lack of nursing staff, and lack of administrative support. Overcrowded at the ED can cause work stress on nurses. Nurses in the ED tend to experience more stress than nurses on the ward due to workload and work fatigue. AIM: This study aimed to investigate the correlation between the ED density with nursing work stress. METHODS: This study was conducted a correlational study in a hospital at Central Java in 2020. Total sampling with the criteria of nurses in the ED was the method employed to the respondents. The data analysis used descriptive statistics and rank Spearman, with a significant level of p < 0.05. RESULTS: The most frequent occurred in the ED was overcrowded, while nursing work stress was moderate stress. The result of the rank Spearman test obtained p = 0.000 with a correlation coefficient of 0.725. CONCLUSION: There was a significant correlation between the ED density levels with nursing work stress.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT The objectives of this study were to determine a breed-specific vertebral heart scale (VHS) range for the dachshund and compare results to the established reference range of 9.7 ± 0.5, calculate inter-observer variability, and correlate VHS with echocardiography. Fifty-one normal dachshunds had radiographs and an echocardiogram performed. Five observers measured VHS to the nearest 0.25 vertebra. The data was analyzed using one-way analysis of variance, Wilcoxon Rank Sum test, Mann-Whitney rank sum test, calculation of reference and confidence intervals, Spearman rank-order correlations, and generation of intra-class correlations and confidence intervals. P < .05 was considered significant. The median for right lateral VHS was significantly larger than left (10.3 [range 9.25–11.55] versus 10.1 [range, 8.7–11.31], p < .0001). VHS for females was significantly larger than for males (left: 10.56 [9.2–11.31] versus 9.74 [8.7–10.88] and right: 10.8 [9.5–11.55] versus 9.99 [9.25–10.8], p = .0002). Observer consistency was high with an intra-class correlation coefficient of 0.95. No significant correlation was found between left atrial echocardiographic parameters and VHS. Results indicate normal dachshunds have a median VHS above the published generic canine reference range, and VHS can be reliably performed by observers with varying degrees of clinical experience.

Abstract:
The pandemic caused by the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) has had psychological and health impacts on people's lives around the world. On a psychological aspect, this pandemic has caused anxiety due to low mindfulness. To increase the potential of mindfulness, one of the ways taken is by counselor psychological intervention. The authors used an Islamic counseling approach to reduce anxiety and increase mindfulness. Therefore, the research was conducted using a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. Participants in this study were 14 students consisting of 7 students for each experimental and control group. Participants were invited after filling self-report the anxiety scale facing COVID-19 and indicated that they were in the high category. The data analyzed with the Wilcoxon sign rank test to determine the impact of before and after the intervention was given, then used the Mann Whitney to find out the mean differences between the experimental and control group, and the Rank Spearman to determine the correlation between mindfulness and anxiety. The results showed that Islamic counseling intervention is effective to increase mindfulness which impacted on reducing anxiety in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, the results of correlation analysis using the Rank Spearman show that there is a correlation between mindfulness and anxiety.
