Abstract:
Although responding to issues in the same time frame and using similar narratives, solidarity actions raised by individuals, organizations, and communities are carried out personally and are not directly tied to each other. However, not all solidarity actions received high impressions/engagement. Actors who are opinion leaders, who are influenced by indegree, retweet, and mention factors, have a big influence in carrying out solidarity actions. Abstract:
Kata kunci: solidaritas; interseksi gender; A Thousand Splendid Suns; Chandra Mohanty[Women’s Solidarity in Khaled Hosseini’ Novel A Thousand Splendid Suns] The novel A Thousand Splendid Suns talks about the solidarity of two women who are the first and second wives from different ages and social classes in Afghanistan's political turmoil setting. Polygamy usually produces competition between wives, but both women actually have a strong solidarity in facing the violence of their husband, society, and state. The problem in this research is why solidarity is underlined as a community phenomenon when facing times of crisis, such as situations of violence and conflict. This study uses the concept of women's solidarity and gender intersection from Chandra Talpade Mohanty. The study aims to explain the solidarity causes among women in this novel, which is underlined as a community phenomenon when facing a crisis. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data related to issues of solidarity and gender intersection. This research revealed that women's solidarity strengthens when they are in the same crisis. The only way to subvert masculine domination in the form of violence is through solidarity.

Abstract:
Abstract: As a religious tradition passed down from generation to generation, Samadiyah is full of a sense of community. This article aimed to examine social solidarity in the Samadiyah tradition, focusing on a description of the implementation of the Samadiyah tradition and the forms of solidarity that exist in implementing the Samadiyah tradition based on Emile Durkheim's theory of social solidarity. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative. At the same time, the research technique applied was participant observation; by going directly to the field following Samadiyah. Then, the literature study was done by analyzing related documents and paying attention to the steps in data collection, such as books, literature, and reports related to the formulation of the research problem that will be answered. The writer found two big points in this research. First, this study stated that the social solidarity contained in the Samadiyah tradition was indentic with Emile Durkheim's theory of social solidarity. Second, the forms of social solidarity that exist in the Samadiyah tradition were divided into; mechanical solidarity, which has social integration in which the community is present successing the tradiition without having their duties described individually which have the basic concept that members of the community have the same values and beliefs, and organic solidarity, namely social integration that arises from the need for services to one another by individuals which in the Samadiyah tradition has the task of the Teungku as the leader of the Samadiyah procession. So it can be said that the Samadiyah tradition had characteristics and forms that are identical to the picture of solidarity communicated by Emile Durkheim. Keywords: Samadiyah; Social Solidarity; Religious Rituals.

Abstract:
Solidarity is a central aspect of the Catholic social tradition and yet it is difficult to capture in a simple definition. Building upon his predecessor’s examination of solidarity, Pope Francis develops solidarity’s christological character, a previously underdeveloped aspect of Catholic social teaching. Francis’s use of place and proclamation in public ministry calls for an ethic of inclusion and encounter. Francis turns to the Incarnation as informing a theology of solidarity focused on both Jesus as model of solidarity and of lived solidarity as an encounter with Christ.

As a result of the nationwide strike wave in August 1980 that gave birth to the Solidarity trade union, the Polish state authorities conceded to the reform of state censorship and to Solidarity creating union bulletins that were not subject to preventative censorship. This article analyses the Solidarity press to explore its censoring through direct state censorship and self-censorship in 1980–1. It argues that Solidarity's dual commitment to truth and legality were irreconcilable and that the state cultivated this conflict, contributing to the undermining of Solidarity's moderate leaders and the treatment of history as an arena for politicisation and state control. It posits that these conflicts have contributed to the current Polish government's frontal assault on the legacy of the Solidarity leadership.

Abstract. This article aimed to construct an idea of solidarity for Indonesian labor, which is currently struggling more and more severely in the post pandemic. The laborers become more desperate for decent work and prosperity. Meanwhile, the entrepreneurs must deal with some expenditure efficiency along with the market slowdown. Conducted by the literature study method, this research employed Jon Sobrino's concept of solidarity to analyze this issue. It then proposed the idea of solidarity of the central axis as an alternative bridge for the needs of workers and entrepreneurs. This solidarity began with a consciousness to commiserate with the others’ dilemmatic considerations, then strive to empower others and jointly celebrate life.Abstrak. Abstract:
Margaret Kohn has argued that fin-de-siècle French Solidarists such as Alfred Fouillée developed a “third way” between capitalism and socialism which still provides a powerful justification for “welfare state” institutions and public-goods provision. But how does Solidarism respond to the demands for environmental justice, and against environmental racism, which have emerged in the past 50 years, mostly in Women of Color-led social movements. Distinguishing three elements of environmental justice, and also pinpointing the logic of expendability at the core of environmental racism, the current article shows that Solidarism has more resources than liberal egalitarianism to challenge environmental injustice, but that, in the white supremacist state, environmental racism in particular poses an especially difficult challenge. After discussing the Solidarists’ divergent responses to feminism and Social Darwinism, the paper shows that, provided Solidarists are also in solidarity with social movements of the oppressed, their doctrine can aid the struggle for equal status.

Abstract:
The article discusses whether there is a Right to International Solidarity that hinders the prosecution of “Crimes of Solidarity” in the context of (illegal) migration. The focus lies therefore on European and International Human Rights Law, the Facilitation Directive of the EU, UNCLOS and the Draft Declaration on the Right to International Solidarity. The notion “Crimes of Solidarity” refers to cases where private actors face judicial consequences for “doing good” (sea rescue, providing shelter, food and medical aid to migrants). As there is neither a right to enter a certain harbour nor a duty to let people disembark, a possible ground for justification might be the Right to International Solidarity, providing a right to help and to be helped. This could have the effect of excluding prosecution for these crimes of solidarity. The article analyses to what extent a Right to International Solidarity exists and thus might hinder the criminalisation of acts of solidarity. Under the current international and regional law there is no Right to International Solidarity, neither through treaty nor customary law. Nevertheless, the potential to become a game changer can be seen in its possible effects on the interpretation of other established (human) rights and international standards. Even though the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and Solidarity’s “Draft Declaration on the Right to International Solidarity” cannot be qualified as soft law as long as it is not adopted by the General Assembly, it can nevertheless serve as a starting point for necessary discussions in the decriminalisation of solidarity.

Abstract:
The article concerns the significance of the idea of solidarity for the rule of law within contemporary constitutional democracies. The author presents, with reference to P. Ricouer’s philosophy, the dialectical nature of solidarity which mediatises ideals of love and justice. He also presents the solidarity’s place within liberal and republican political thought. The author points the limitations imposed on the idea of solidarity by the model of liberal constitutionalism. At the same time he emphasises that legal recognition related to liberal culture of human rights gains its social complement in the idea of solidarity. He argues that the idea of solidarity might determine the concept of legitimization of power in its modern formula. The idea of solidarity and the concept of rule of law both realise – in different ways and on different levels – the common values oriented towards elimination of arbitrariness of power and ensuring conditions for cooperation between members of political community. The constitutional justice may perform a leading role in fulfilment the idea of solidarity as it watches over distribution of political power and secures processes of free communication within political community.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT: Several suggestions have been made to embolden and reorient the concept of solidarity given the emergence of data-driven medicine. Recently, the European Union introduced a new consent model for so-called data altruism to motivate people to make their data available for purposes such as scientific research or improving public services. Others have introduced the alternative concept of data solidarily, which assumes that people's interests in data sharing result from a collective commitment to assist others. What those perspectives have in common is a focus on top-down organizational structures to deal with data-driven medicine. In this article, I offer an alternative reading of data solidarity, drawing on anarchist theory that highlights the disposition of mutual aid as a broader characteristic of solidarity. I begin by briefly indicating how the existing approaches to data solidarity in healthcare remain legalistic and state-centered without thoroughly considering socially critical notions of solidarity that highlight the impact of structural injustices. I then sketch out how an anarchist understanding of mutual aid could inform the conceptualization of solidarity. Finally, I focus on two implications for the practice of data-driven medicine: (1) current proposals of data altruism seem to engender a form of reversed charity; and (2) data solidarity practices could arise from the bottom-up through spontaneous order and direct action.

Abstract:
Revolutionary experiments require building revolutionary relationships. This praxis of material and social creativity to reorganise power dynamics and weave connections across weaponised divides, are evident in the content, the form and the backstory woven into Janet Biehl's Their Blood Got Mixed: Revolutionary Rojava and the War on ISIS. Written and illustrated by Janet Biehl, it is a graphic memoir that can be read as both an historical narrative and a blueprint of a contemporary revolutionary experiment that combines political theory and graphic art to tell the story of how ISIS has been driven back in Northern Syria by people fighting for a society based on principles of direct democracy, political secularism, gender equality, and ecological sustainability. Whereas in the past, after the liberation of Rojava in 2012, Biehl spent time interviewing leadership, this book relays her interviews with women across the region and across the various projects of reorganising and defending social, political, cultural and economic life in 2019 after four years of warfare against ISIS and the Turkish state. Reflecting on the relationships that make revolutionary history, and that produce artistic histories of revolutionary experiments, this review article considers the history in this book and of this book, in conversation with recently published graphic non-fiction, and draws on engaged scholarship concerned with the politics of collective knowledge production in and for movements of solidarity urgently needed in the face of the imploding crisis of colonial borders.

Abstract:
Informal markets provide employment for a large spectrum of Nigerians. These markets provide access to livelihood for those willing to work within the market environment and operate within its rules. A major normative value, which also spells out the ethics in the informal market space, is solidarity-in-completion. Indeed, traders are in competition, but they also solidarize for individual and market progress. This article examines the context of solidarity in informal markets in Ibadan, Nigeria. The study was guided by the Asuwada theory of sociation, which explains the context of solidarity as ethical in traditional societies. Qualitative data were collected through 12 key informant interviews, 60 in-depth interviews, six focus group discussion sessions, and 12 case studies. Access to space and retention of such space in the market is structured by the local contexts of oju and inu relations that determine and contextualize solidarity, and normative solidarity regulates competition among traders.

Abstract:
Kata Kunci: Transformasi Sosial; Suku Samin; Pembagian Kerja Emile Durkheim; Solidaritas Organik; Solidaritas MekanikThis study aims to analyze the changes that occur in the Samin Bojonegoro community by using Emile Durkheim’s Division of Work and Social Solidarity. Namely the social change from traditional society to modern society. According to Durkheim, an increase in the system of division of labor in society has implications for changes in the type of social solidarity, that is, in societies with very little division of labor will produce a type of mechanical solidarity, whereas in societies with complex division of labor will produce types of organic solidarity. It starts by describing the lives of the Samin people from their origins, the teachings that are followed and the social changes that occur in them. The form of this study is qualitative research. The data in this study are used to understand and interpret the meaning of events and the behavior patterns of the Samin Bojonegoro community. The data obtained comes from historical documents Samin and literature materials in the form of books, video films and scientific journals. Based on the results of the study it can be seen that the condition of the Samin Bojonegoro community has undergone a transformation from traditional to modern society. Although it has undergone changes and modernization in all fields, the Samin community is still synonymous with a mechanical society in terms of solidarity. That is because the Samin community still upholds the teachings of Saminism and practices it until now which has implications for high collective consciousness., Despite undergoing various transformations, the Samin community still upholds the teachings of its ancestors, namely Saminism. Keywords: Social Transformation; Samin Tribe; Emile Durkheim Division of Work, Organic Solidarity; Mechanical Solidarity

Abstract:
The paper portrays the origins and ideological foundations of NSZZ “Solidarity” (Independent Self-governing Trade Union “Solidarity”) and their meaning in social life at the time of the communist regime in PRL (Polish People’s Republic). There are references to strikes (June ‘56 in Poznan, polish March ’68, June ’76, July ’80 in Lublin and Swidnica and August ’80) and, in 1980, the creation of Inter-Enterprise Strike Committee, which developed and published 21 demands aimed at the authorities. In the study, it is acknowledged that those demands are the ideological sources of Solidarity. The author of the text thinks that John Paul II sermons and encyclicals as well as Fr. Józef Tischner’s texts (published in the book Etyka solidarności oraz Homo sovieticus – Solidarity’s ethics and homo soviecticus) also had an influence on the formation of these ideas, which could bring back moral order, the rule of law, dignity and freedom for the society enslaved by Soviets. “Solidarity” also desired to improve the economic status of the country, particularly by ending the crisis. Those thoughts were, and are, beautiful; unfortunately, nowadays many of them exist only in the sphere of ideas or demands written in NSZZ Solidarity’s statute. Therefore, the article contains a sad conclusion, that in the 3rd Republic of Poland’s reality, “Solidarity’s” ideas are not attractive anymore. It happened because modern society is guided by consumerism and has become banausic. Trade union membership is not beneficial anymore, sometimes even being bothersome and seen as exceptional. That is why people, for the sake of keeping their jobs or other benefits, are leaving NSZZ “Solidarity”. Considering the ideas behind trade unions (especially the protection of worker’s affairs) – it is a peculiar paradox.

Abstract:
Communication has an important role in a community to support high solidarity between members. But not all communities know what things can build solidarity between members. Therefore, administrators in the community think about how to build solidarity within the group, how to keep the group members afloat, and also how to maintain group members so that they still have a family attitude and also care for one another. Of course in this community, some members are chosen to be community administrators, and changed every year. Some of these members have roles as chairperson, public relations officer, and treasurer. The role of a chairperson includes many things, managing members, organizing events, looking for useful information for the community and also building cohesiveness within the community. The communication process that takes place in ICON uses the Laswell communication model which is one-way, i.e. the community leader gives direction to community members directly or through WhatsApp group media. The approach used in this research is descriptive-qualitative and with the case study method. The research subject in this study was ICON. While the object of research in this study is the communication process in forming solidarity that is used by ICON in increasing solidarity within groups and also building a good image in the eyes of the community. Data collected by interview, documentation, and literature study. The conclusion of this study is that ICON uses communication strategies in the form of publications, events, community participation, CSR. In addition, to build the solidarity of its members, ICON often holds touring, Sunday morning rides, and kopdar. Abstract:
This paper discusses filial norms, personal preferences for care, and policy opinions about the proper role of the family and the welfare state in elder care, by drawing from a comparative study of urban populations in Norway, England, Germany, Spain and Israel. Support for filial norms has a north-south dimension in Europe, and is highest in Spain and Israel and lowest – but still substantial – in Norway, England and Germany. National differences in preferences and policy opinions are more substantial, and more or less congruent with national family and social policy traditions. Filial solidarity is, however, not incompatible with generous welfare state arrangements, nor do filial obligations necessarily imply that the family is seen as the ‘natural’ care provider. In fact, many in the countries with the highest scores for filial responsibility still find the welfare state to be the main source of care provision. Normative familism is correlated with expressed familism in individuals' preferences and in policy opinions, but the correlations are weak, implying that while filial solidarity may be resilient, as circumstances alter its expressions change.

Abstract:
Abstract Prior to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in Hong Kong, there had been an extended period of civic unrest which began as opposition to an extradition bill but which later grew into a larger socio-political movement. We consider the relationship between ongoing political sentiments and the Covid-19 pandemic as evident through public signs; particularly, how commercial signage aligns and disaligns with government discourse on solidarity evident through recontextualization of the official tagline “Together, we fight the virus!” We suggest three analytical categories: (1) signs which demonstrate an alignment stance with the institutional sense of solidarity; (2) alignment with the pro-democracy movement, and thus disalignment from the institutional sense; and (3) politically ambiguous stances appealing to a broad understanding of solidarity for commercial gain. The pandemic occurring at a politically sensitive time has caused and made evident fractures in the way solidarity is construed, resulting in (dis)alignment and differing stances arising from the various social actors who have emplaced signs.

Abstract:
In this article the author uses Pope Francis’s understanding of solidarity expressed in the encyclical Fratelli tutti to interpret the hitherto unacknowledged role of women’s invisible work in the Polish social movement Solidarność (Solidarity). The author then juxtaposes their contribution with the work of volunteers involved in helping the migrants in the humanitarian crisis on the border between Poland and Belarus, considered from the perspective of the exegesis of the parable of the Good Samaritan in Fratelli tutti. A postscript places these events in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
