La rappresentazione del nemico in armi, tramite la propaganda di guerra, può costituire un incentivo al combattimento e influire sulla compartecipazione emotiva dei soldati alla causa bellica. Questi aspetti diventano particolarmente evidenti in un episodio come la campagna italiana di Russia, dove lettere e diari dei combattenti permettono anche di testare il grado di politicizzazione del soldato medio in un conflitto presentato e vissuto come la guerra ideologica per eccellenza. Il vo-lontarismo in questa particolare campagna è un elemento significativo in tal senso. Il fronte orientale, con la sua durezza e il suo esotismo al negativo, dai soldati "mongoli" alle donne in armi, fu un terreno di coltura ideale per lo sviluppo di una narrazione sul nemico spesso leggendaria. Di qui pure il manifestarsi in combattimento di una violenza auto-giustificata, perché presumibilmente provocata dalle atrocità compiute dai "rossi". L'autore affronta anche il tema, ricorrente negli scritti dei soldati e nelle carte militari, della pretesa tendenza dei sovietici ad arrendersi e a disertare, secondo un'immagine al contempo in sintonia e in contrasto con la raffigurazione ufficiale del nemico.

Sebbene la guerra sia sempre stata una triste costante nella storia umana, lo sfruttamento e il reclutamento dei bambini nei conflitti armati è aumentato esponenzialmente solo negli ultimi decenni. Attraverso un'analisi approfondita di questa brutale realtà, la presente Tesi si propone di affrontare il problema esaminando il fenomeno, tanto spinoso quanto delicato, dei cosiddetti "bambini soldato". Un focus particolare sarà dedicato alla ancora più drammatica realtà delle bambine soldato che, oltre ad essere vittime della guerra, sono spesso una facile preda per i gruppi armati e soggette alla schiavitù sessuale. A seguito di una prima analisi descrittiva e di un inquadramento storico che tentano di far luce sul fenomeno, nel secondo capitolo l’elaborato si propone di esaminare il crescente utilizzo di bambini soldato nei conflitti armati in tutto il mondo. I primi due capitoli gettano quindi le basi per il terzo che, attraverso un'analisi della modalità di reclutamento delle bambine soldato e la conseguente difficoltà di reintegrazione nella società, riporterà l'esperienza diretta da parte di una volontaria che nell’autunno 2018 ha partecipato ad una missione in Uganda, presso un centro di riabilitazione per ex bambine soldato. Infine, malgrado questa piaga sociale sembri ben lontana dall'essere sradicata, il quarto e ultimo capitolo si focalizzerà sul ruolo della comunità internazionale e il suo contributo nella prevenzione e risoluzione del fenomeno, sulla base delle norme giuridiche emanate in questo ambito e di strumenti come la Corte Penale Internazionale, la quale svolge un ruolo importante in materia di violazione dei diritti dei bambini in situazioni di conflitto armato.

La parabola di Niceforo II Foca (963-969) e Giovanni I Zimisce (969-975), generali e imperatori, protagonisti della riconquista bizantina, rappresenta un unicum nella storia bizantina, al punto che la vita e la carriera dell’uno non può prescindere da quella dell’altro. Questa tesi, divisa in due sezioni, si ripropone nella prima parte di illustrare il contesto storico in cui Foca e Zimisce nacquero e si formarono, approfondendo in particolare l’evoluzione geopolitica dell’Anatolia bizantina e la nascita dell’aristocrazia di provincia cui appartenevano i due. La seconda parte è dedicata alla ricostruzione biografica – basata sulle fonti di età medio-bizantina e supportata dalle più recenti ricerche sul tema – e all’analisi dell’attività militare dei due imperatori. L’obiettivo è sia comprendere quanto Foca e Zimisce siano stati fedeli alla strategia militare bizantina e quanto se ne siano distaccati, sia individuare le similarità e le differenze nella concezione della guerra dell’uno e dell’altro.

The first part of this research has taken advantage of the consultation of many heterogeneous sources: the most important studies on Neapolitan culture of the century and especially the precious para-texts, as posters and theater programs, and in particular the newspapers, such as artistic magazines, published during the decade 1910-1920, in Naples. The description of the decade proceeds through a specific point of view, thanks to the historical and cultural testimonials published by newspapers in Naples, mostly by magazines and by the journalistic publications, especially those theatrical and artistic. The work of research also focuses on the evolution of literary journalism in the twentieth neapolitan century, with particular attention paid to the third page of the newspapers, describing the evolution of the role of journalist, as an abroad envoy and also involved in theater . The section dedicated to the Futurism is accompanied by an appendix, the first of many and rich appendices submitted in support of many paragraphs. Cited the satirical magazine <>, published in Naples, and the Italian-American Weekly << La Follia di New York >>. The Italian- American journal is one of the main source of the entire research because it allows an important and unknown observation on two fronts, the Italian, and therefore Neapolitan, and the Italian-American. <> is preserved at the Immigration History Research Center of the Minnesota’s University. Through the mediation of the National Library of Naples, which has been active for a long international inter-library loan, it was possible to get all microfilm; they sent from Minnesota but they aren’t digitized. The analysis of documents preserved in the State Archive, in Naples, also noted a first and necessary restriction, concerning the limited time, span to decade. The consultation of catalogs, documents relating to the years 1910-1920 and to the Neapolitan theater in that period, restricted the search to the section called << Archive Cabinet - police headquarters in Naples - Part II - Provisions of Massa >> . One of the most important point of the entire research is dedicated to the artists on the front and the effects of World War I on the Neapolitan artistic circles and on the Neapolitan artists called to fight, revealing, for the first time, some completely unpublished documents about the Soldier's Theatre. The first approach to these news was born through the letters of the artist-soldier posted on the Neapolitan magazine <> from 1915 onwards, turning the magazine in an active role of communication media between the families living in the city and the artists called to fight, during the war; many of these artists-soldiers died, were injured or missing. The research leads, then, in the Archive of the Theatrical Library Burcardo of Rome; in fact, the establishment of the Soldier's Theatre had been entrusted to the Society of Authors, the current SIAE that now manages this Archive in Rome, partly still unpublished. The Archive of Theatrical Library Burcardo preserves, in fact, the minutes of the Society of Authors who provide us with information about the Soldier Theatre, indicating only a final report of the events, organized between August and September 1917. The posters and the pictures of the shows, staged at the front and organized by the Soldier's Theatre, reveal some surprising news: this set of documents consists of very few documents, sometimes from private archives, but in excellent condition. The largest private collection, preserved in Genoa and curated by the accountant Francesco Maggi, is added to the archive Roman documents. The weekly << La Follia di New York>> reveals a different approach to the war and especially by emigrants called to war. Some Neapolitan specks are reported in the appendix of this research. They were published every week by Alessandro Sisca, aka Richard Cordiferro, brother of the director of the newspaper, Marziale Sisca. The “Macchiette” describe political events, festivals, celebrations or simple anecdotes, in dialogue and theatrical form, settling events and stories in the Italian community, and in the Italian districts of New York, using a hybrid language, that it is a sort of Neapolitan with inserts of Neapolitanized-English language. Chronicles and theater reviews describe the creative community of Naples, active in that period, with a particular reference to some names of theatrical criticism that operates in Naples, describing and distinguishing styles, approaches, languages, theater and theatrical genres. Careful observation of newspapers, periodicals and theater sections, creates a rich list in which, for the first time, they identify the most important brands, belonging to a real environment characterized by the theater critic active in Naples, at the beginning of twentieth century. Uppsatsen syfte är att analysera på vilka sätt som kurdiska kvinnliga soldater har framställts i svenska medier, samt om framställningen skiljer sig från den i brittiska och franska medier. De centrala frågeställningarna är på vilka sätt framställs kvinnliga kurdiska soldater i svenska medier? Samt, skiljer sig presentationen av kurdiska kvinnliga soldater i svenska medier från den i franska och brittiska medier? Om ja, i sådana fall hur? Uppsatsen bygger på postkolonial feminism, Edward Saids exotifieringsteori, socialkonstruktivism samt diskurs som teoretiskt ramverk. Datainsamling har skett med hjälp av dokumentanalys av 5 artiklar i olika svenska nyhetstidningar och har analyserats med hjälp av kritisk diskursanalytisk metod. Uppsatsen finner att diskurserna i de franska och brittiska medierna även går att finna i de svenska medierna, vilket får konsekvenserna att stereotypa könsroller och orientalistiska uppfattningar. Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att lyfta hur kurdiska kvinnliga soldater framställs och positionernas i media. Med hjälp av de valda teorierna och metoden har detta kunnat göras.

Titre : Les marsouins de 1880 à 1914. Etude anthropologique et prosopographique.Après la défaite de 1870-1871, la France renoue avec son expansion coloniale. Au préalable, les politiciens de tous bords, les économistes ou encore les investisseurs privés se sont attachés à justifier le « fait colonial » en vue de doter le pays de troupes spécialisées dans les interventions outre-mer. Dans ce cadre, l’infanterie et l’artillerie de la Marine reçoivent le rôle d’évoluer en dehors du sol métropolitain afin d’accomplir les trois étapes du processus colonial : la conquête, la pacification et l’administration.Cette étude vise à mieux cerner cette population de soldats, communément appelée « marsouin », en la suivant depuis le recrutement jusqu’à son déploiement outre-mer. En plus d’étudier spécifiquement les conditions de recrutement, il s’agit ici de s’interroger sur la formation afin de savoir si ces hommes disposent des qualités intellectuelles et physiques pour pouvoir exercer leur métier aux colonies.Pour le savoir, il a fallu dépouiller près de 4500 registres matricules en vue de réaliser des séries statistiques. L’exploitation d’une centaine de témoignages a également permis de suivre le quotidien de ces hommes et ainsi de comprendre leurs motivations, leurs difficultés, leurs déceptions, leurs satisfactions, leurs représentations ou encore leurs aspirations en termes d’avancement ou de récompenses.En outre, il en ressort généralement que le marsouin a su s’adapter aux différentes situations et circonstances en dépit de la quantité et de la qualité du recrutement qui font régulièrement défaut entre 1880 et 1914. Le soldat colonial souffre en plus de sa mauvaise réputation même si celle-ci tend à s’atténuer à mesure que l’Empire colonial se construit et se solidifie. Le marsouin, bras armé du gouvernement, est en effet la cible des critiques qui proviennent des anticolonialistes. L’armée peine le plus souvent à réagir en livrant une autre version. Nonobstant, à la veille de la Grande Guerre, la colonisation fait quasiment consensus et les marsouins jouissent progressivement d’une reconnaissance qui leur échappait jusque-là
Title : French marine troops (“marsouins”) from 1880 until 1914. Anthropologic and prosopographical study.In the wake of the 1870-1871 military defeat, France resumed its colonial expansion. Politicians on all sides, economists or investors justified “colonialism” in order to provide the country with troops specialized in overseas operations. In this context, French marine infantry and artillery units were specifically tasked with operating outside French soil in order to carry out the three stages of the colonial process: conquest, pacification and administrative management.This aim of this research is to get a better knowledge of the soldiers nicknamed “marsouins”, from their recruitment up to their deployment overseas. In addition to paying attention to the recruitment process, we’ll also focus on their training, so as to know whether these troops were endowed with the intellectual and physical qualities needed to operate in French colonies.In order to achieve this research, it was necessary to study about 4,500 Army registers to compile statistics. The exploitation of about 100 testimonies also allowed us to have a better understanding of the daily life of these troops, their motivations to sign up, the difficulties they experienced, as well as their joys, expectations in terms of promotions and awards.Moreover, we could observe that the “marsouin” was able to adapt to the different situations and circumstances he was faced with, in spite of the poor quality of the recruits and their too limited number between 1880 and 1914. However, these troops had a bad reputation which tended to improve as the French colonial empire grew and got stronger

La presente memoria detalla el proceso de diseño, desarrollo e implementación de Soldado Universal, proyecto profesional de la carrera de Ingeniería de Software de la Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. El proyecto Soldado Universal tiene como objetivo la creación de un software basado en tecnología de desarrollo de videojuegos y gráficos 3D, que permitan a un soldado del Ejército del Perú adiestrarse en el uso de 4 armas de fuego: Mark23, AKM-47, MiniUzi, Mp5, interactuando en un conflicto armado . Asimismo, permita emitir un reporte con métricas relacionadas al desempeño del soldado. En el primer capítulo se definen los conceptos básicos necesarios para la comprensión del presente proyecto profesional. Se presenta la herramienta Unreal Game Engine 3.5 como plataforma de desarrollo del presente proyecto. Se brinda una explicación del marco de trabajo Scrum el cual ha sido utilizado para la gestión y desarrollo. Finalmente, se define el proyecto Soldado Universal, el problema que resuelve, las características del producto, el alcance del proyecto y los objetivos planteados. El segundo capítulo explica el proceso de gestión de proyecto de Soldado Universal, el capítulo está dividido en tres partes. En primer lugar, se muestran los artefactos que recomienda Scrum orientado a Soldado Universal. En segundo lugar, se explica el proceso de gestión de recursos humanos a lo largo del proyecto. Finalmente, se explica el proceso realizado para la gestión de la calidad. El tercer capítulo está enfocado en el Diseño y Arquitectura de Software de Soldado Universal. La primera parte del capítulo se hace una introducción a Arquitectura Ágil, se explican los principios del mismo y se realiza una comparación con la Arquitectura Tradicional. La segunda parte del capítulo está dedicado a mostrar los patrones de diseño y arquitecturales que se han utilizado en la implementación de Soldado Universal. El cuarto capítulo muestra en forma general el proceso de implementación de las funcionalidades y características de Soldado Universal como: El sistema de armamento, el sistema de personajes, las interfaces de usuario, el reporte de entrenamiento, el entrenamiento de reacción y el entrenamiento con terroristas. El quinto capítulo se lista los logros obtenidos durante el desarrollo del proyecto Soldado Universal. El capítulo de conclusiones está enfocado en recopilar las conclusiones obtenidas a partir de las evidencias mostradas en la presente memoria de proyecto. Abstract:
This paper examines how the ideal of manhood is portrayed and constructed and how the participation of Swedish soldier volunteers are motivated and legitimatized. The purpose of this examination is to gain understanding and knowledge about the Swedish soldiers in the Swedish brigade, how they legitimatize and motivate their participation and how the ideal of manhood is portrayed and constructed. The study is based on material from the war archive in Stockholm. The empirical material is composed by letters and propaganda material. In the analysis of the empirical study, there have been two theories used which are Eric Hobsbawms historical method and theory about invented traditions and Peter Aronssons historical method and theory about ‘historiebruk’ and legitimacy. The method I used for analyzing my empirical material is the genetic-biography method which aims the interest to the text, language in the text, the words and the sentences. The field of research about the finish civil war in 1918 is very large and that is why I made a selection in order to choose which research should represent the rest of the field. The selection is based on the reasoning about the class conflict, eye witnesses and the picture of the finish civil war, the freedom war and the participation of the Swedish soldier volunteers. The result in this study and examination shows how the ideal of manhood is constructed usually by a soldier who often sacrifices his own life and becomes a hero, a freedom fighter that stands up against the violence from the east, the so called bolsjevikempire. The participation of the Swedish soldier volunteers is legitimatized through several ways. The legitimization is often connected to the past and the Swedish nation in order to accept the actions and the participation of the Swedish soldiers.

Abstract:
A soldagem por atrito é uma alternativa aos processos convencionais de soldagem, como a solda por arco elétrico. Por ser um processo realizado no estado sólido não sofre problemas associados à fusão do material soldado e pode ser utilizado com maior facilidade em ambientes subaquáticos. A soldagem por atrito possui boas respostas também quando utilizada em soldas de materiais dissimilares. Tendo em vista a grande demanda de novas tecnologias relacionadas à exploração e produção de petróleo no Brasil, a solda por atrito é uma opção para problemas associados à correção de defeitos como trincas e porosidades em peças de grandes espessuras, como por exemplo, chapas, manilhas e ganchos. Para esses casos um processo denominado Friction Hydro Pillar Processing (FHPP) se mostra apropriado, pois possui qualidades adequadas que contrapõe as dificuldades verificadas nos reparos realizados por soldagem por arco elétrico. No Brasil as pesquisas relacionadas ao processo em questão são ainda incipientes. Tendo em vista a lacuna tecnológica e a possibilidade de reparo em campo, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo projetar, fabricar e validar um equipamento de soldagem de tamanho reduzido para facilitar a portabilidade, e que seja capaz de realizar o processo FHPP no Laboratório de Metalurgia Física (LAMEF). O projeto do equipamento foi baseado em ferramentas computacionais de CAD (Computer Aided Design) e CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) e como premissa teve a redução de custos e aproveitamento da infraestrutura laboratorial existente. Para verificar a funcionalidade do equipamento foram realizadas soldas dissimilares com os materiais SAE 4140 e BS 4360 em duas etapas. A primeira etapa teve o objetivo de verificar a operação da máquina, e a segunda etapa foi realizada com o intuito de produzir soldas sem a presença de defeitos de preenchimento. Macrografias e micrografias foram realizadas para inspecionar a região soldada, bem como foram realizados ensaios de microdureza para verificar o efeito da rotação e força de soldagem nas propriedades dos materiais soldados. O resultado do trabalho é um equipamento apto para realizar soldas dissimilares pelo processo FHPP sem defeitos de preenchimento para as juntas analisadas.
The friction welding is an alternative to conventional welding processes such as arc welding. Because it is a process performed in the solid state does not suffer from problems associated with the melt of the welded material and can be used more easily in underwater environments. The friction welding has good answers even when used for welding of dissimilar materials. Given the great demand for new technologies associated with petroleum exploration and production in Brazil, friction welding is an option for correcting problems associated with defects such as cracks and porosities in parts of large thickness, such as plates, shackles and hooks. For these cases a process called Friction Hydro Pillar Processing (FHPP) proves suitable, as it has suitable qualities that opposes the difficulties encountered in repairs performed by electric arc welding. In Brazil, research on the process are still incipient. Given the technological gap and the possibility of field repair, this study aimed to design, fabricate and validate a welding equipment for small size for easy portability, and also capable of performing the process FHPP Laboratory of Physical Metallurgy (LAMEF). The equipment design was based on computational tools for CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) and was premised on cost reduction and improvement of existing laboratory infrastructure. To verify the functionality of the equipment were carried out with the welding dissimilar materials SAE 4140 and BS 4360 in two stages. The first step to check the operation of the machine, and the second step in order to produce welds without filling defects. Macrographs and micrographs were taken to inspect the welded region, as well as microhardness tests were performed to determine the effect of welding speed and strength properties of welded material. The work is a result of equipment able to perform the process FHPP dissimilar welds without filling defects.

Chapter 2 is devoted to the WWII-Soldado Razo archetype that anchors Latina/o civic and cultural citizenship models, transnational mestizaje and hybridity paradigms, and hypermasculinist warrior hero discourses. Through a reassessment of familiar, as well as neglected and undertheorized literary and performative texts, the chapter examines the conservative—specifically heteronormative, capitalist, and protoimperialist—nature of prevailing triumphalist historiographies of the WWII Soldado Razo as a member of the proverbial “Greatest Generation.” Both familiar and new permutations of WWII-Soldado Razo archetypes, as well as related civilian archetypes such as Pachucas and Pachucos, reveal this figure’s varied negotiations of ideology. In the process they also complicate our understanding of the racialized, gendered, and sexualized texture of this epochal milieu and its Latina/o protagonists. This chapter’s case studies reveal that the Soldado Razo actually anchors a wide variety of WWII-era supra-Latina/o violentologies. These range from hyperlocal cultural nationalisms, protofascist imperialisms, frequently ignored WWII-era Marxist internationalisms, and protoqueer warrior heroes, all of whom are intertwined with homosocial and simultaneously homoerotic Pachucos!

Abstract:
O aço ligado ASTM A335 P11 pode apresentar diferentes comportamentos ao sofrer diferentes tratamentos térmicos. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi de analisar comparativamente juntas soldadas do aço ASTM A-335 grau P11, unidas pelo método de soldagem TIG, em temperatura ambiente e realizando-se um pré-aquecimento de 200°C antes da soldagem. O metal base utilizado foi o aço ASTM A335 P11 e o metal de adição utilizado foi a vareta de solda ER 80S-B2. Foram realizados ensaios metalográficos, medidas de microdureza e ensaios de tração. Observou-se que não houve mudança significativa na microestrutura do material base nem na zona termicamente afetada tanto para o material base sem pré-aquecido quanto para o material pré-aquecido à temperatura de 200°C. Entretanto, na região do metal de solda observou-se uma microestrutura pouco mais irregular no metal que foi pré-aquecido, além de ter sido observado um leve aumento de dureza na região soldada nas amostras com o pré-aquecimento à 200°C. Conclui-se que o pré-aquecimento à 200°C utilizado neste trabalho influiu discretamente na microestrutura, dureza e consequentemente nas propriedades mecânicas da junta soldada do metal base ASTM A335 P11.

El presente comunicado trata de pa(i)sajes sonoros de Prieto/Ruiz de varias instalaciones que se reinterpretan “work in progress”, según las necesidades expositivas: Alerta o la ciudad de cristal (1992- 2003), revela la fragilidad del espacio urbano. Surgió a partir de la primera guerra del Golfo Pérsico. La pretensión era hacer reflexionar al espectador sobre el continuo estado de inseguridad al que todos estamos expuestos, pues las ciudades pueden desaparecer. Para su desarrollo decidimos simular un brevísimo instante antes del bombardeo de una ciudad, creando una situación de “alerta”. Alerta, su pa(i)saje sonoro fue creado recopilando sonidos relacionados con ruidos bélicos.Refugio (2001), empezó a gestarse en Guernica en 2000. Allí tuvimos la oportunidad de recoger testimonios de supervivientes del bombardeo. Para construir su pa(i)saje sonoro Testimonios, nos interesaron en especial las experiencias vividas por supervivientes confinados, en espacios físicos limitados. Además, en 2018, con motivo del 80 aniversario del final de la batalla de Teruel, creamos No. Nos restauréis, que parte de la destrucción de la materia para, posteriormente, hacer una reconstrucción de la misma con los fragmentos encontrados. Por lo que, estaba formada por fragmentos de retablos destruidos durante los bombardeos y por el pa(i)saje sonoro Inmemorian.Souvenirs (2002-11), obra de inspiración arqueológica que quiere personificar un compendio de los ejércitos del siglo XX. Se creó a raíz del atentado del 11S. Es un ejército cerámico que avanza hacia el interior de la tierra, contradiciendo el habitual desenterramiento propio de cualquier excavación arqueológica. Tiene dos paisajes sonoros: Phamphet (2002) con voces de periodistas hablándonos sobre las guerras en el siglo XX, y, un testimonio directo de un insumiso, Félix Romeo. Historie d´un soldat (2005), cuenta la historia de varios soldados participantes en el desembarco de Normandía.
