Inspection and measurement for the sheet resistance and resistivity play a pivotal role in the semiconductor industry. In this study, a high-accuracy measurement system for sheet resistance of thin films was designed based on dual-measurement with four-point probe method. The measurement system was composed of a special switching circuit, a digital output module, Keithley 2400 SourceMeter, and a computer running LabVIEW. The special switching circuit designed based on the multiplexer played an important role in current probes and voltage probes automatic switching under the control of virtual instrumentation software LabVIEW and National instruments digital output module hardware NI 9401. Keithley 2400 SourceMeter controlled by LabVIEW was used for two-times high-precision voltage measurement. Van der Pauw correction factor were calculated based on the results of the two-times voltage measurement. Then the sheet resistance of thin films was calculated by LabVIEW softwares powerful computing. The experimental results show that the designed and developed system can meet the needs of fast on-line measurement of thin films sheet resistance with a wide range, and moreover, the accuracy of measurements and the level of automatization have been dramatically improved compared to the conventional measurement system.

The development of microelectromechanical systems based on magnetohydrodynamic for micro-robot applications requires precise control of the micro-flow behavior. The micro-flow channel design and its performance under the influence of the Lorentz force is a critical challenge, the mathematical model of each magnetohydrodynamic device design must be experimentally validated before to be employed in the fabrication of microelectromechanical systems. For this purpose, the present article proposes the enhancement of a particle image velocimetry measurement process in a customized machine vision system. The particle image velocimetry measurements are performed for the micro-flow velocity profile mathematical model validation of a magnetohydrodynamic stirrer prototype. Data mining and filtering have been applied to a raw measurement database from the customized machine vision system designed to evaluate the magnetohydrodynamic stirrer prototype. Outlier’s elimination and smoothing have been applied to raw data to approximate the particle image velocimetry measurements output to the velocity profile mathematical model to increase the accuracy of a customized machine vision system for two-dimensional velocity profile measurements. The accurate measurement of the two-dimensional velocity profile is fundamental owing to the requirement of future enhancement of the customized machine vision system to construct the three-dimensional velocity profile of the magnetohydrodynamic stirrer prototype. The presented methodology can be used for measurement and validation in the design of microelectromechanical systems micro-robot design and any other devices that require micro-flow manipulation for tasks such as stirring, pumping, mixing, networking, propelling, and even cooling.

In order to anticipate the negative impact of the broader market, the competitiveness measurement was needed to be conducted on understanding the strength of SMEs in food. Competitive measurement can be done by creating web application to reduce measuring process. This research using Designing methods (system engineering) using diamond porter model as competitiveness measurement method of SME in foods. Web application functioned as SME in foods grading, competitiveness weighing, SME in foods index measurements and City SMEs index measurements. Index value that were yielded grouped into three categories which were high, medium, and low. There was a color indicator on index value display that functioned to classifying competitiveness index value. ID was needed to access this web application, those things intended to guard the safety of data contained in this web application.

In order to meet the mobile robot’s accuracy and speed requirements in processing obstacle information based on the study of the principle of ultrasonic and infrared distance measurement, the ultrasonic infrared measurements system is designed using Mega16L microcontroller. The hardware of the system, data fusion and software components were studied. Bayes estimation for the data fusion, which can greatly improve the measurement accuracy, was used. The human-computer interface and back panel algorithm were developed with the development language of LabVIEW. Experimental results show that the measurement error of the combined measurement system is in ± 1mm between 0 ~ 300cm, which can meet the design requirements and flexible operation.

The research project UP-Prosa, a German acronym for universal and unified platform for planning, programming, controlling and evaluating processes, of measuring, aims at realizing a platform to design and control processes of geometry measurements, which supports a broad variety of measuring devices via one user interface. Based on Windows Operating System (OS) a software was developed able to control inspection devices for different types of geometry measurements (coordinate measuring machine, form, roughness, gear) and manufacturers by one defined communication protocol. This uniform user interface contains the programming of measurement processes, evaluation algorithms with standardized methods, as well as abilities to generate record pages at the users expectations. At the level of geometric measuring devices a universal controlling software called Prosa InterCommunicator (Prosa-ICom) was designed. Prosa-ICom communicates via network with the user interface and translates the defined protocol into a measuring device specific form. The internal structure is extendable and so it seems to be appropriate for both new developments and upgrades (retrofit) for all kinds of geometric measuring devices.

Advanced User Interface Generation in the Software Framework for Magnetic Measurements at CernA model-based approach, the Model-View-Interactor Paradigm, for automatic generation of user interfaces in software frameworks for measurement systems is proposed. The Model-View-Interactor Paradigm is focused on the "interaction" typical in a software framework for measurement applications: the final user interacts with the automatic measurement system executing a suitable high-level script previously written by a test engineer. According to the main design goal of frameworks, the proposed approach allows the user interfaces to be separated easily from the application logic for enhancing the flexibility and reusability of the software. As a practical case study, this approach has been applied to the flexible software framework for magnetic measurements at the European Organization for Nuclear research (CERN). In particular, experimental results about the scenario of permeability measurements are reported.

Abstract:
The current Synchro-to-Digital conversion (S/DC)with high reliability, high accuracy and widely used in the military field, but it has high cost and low tracking speed, not suitable for high speed and low-cost industrial applications. In this work, the principle of synchro and the harmonics of the synchro output signals are investigated. Multifunction S/DC software design using FFT algorithm and IIR digital filter technology is proposed. It Integrated many functions, such as angle position, harmonics analysis and filter, it also improved measurement accuracy and speed, reduced the cost. The simulation results by Matlab show that the method is feasible.

It discusses the measurement principle and the system design of 3D non-destructive measurement method for the homogeneous entity. The measurement project and its operating process is discussed. The basic operation principle and components of this measurement device are pointed out. It included the digitized minute entity cells and the delaminated measuring method for product profiles based on liquid. It is based on Archimedes' principle and lever principle and gravity moment, combined the equations of the gravity moment and the equations of the center of gravity, the 3D coordinate values of every minute entity cell in different layers can be reckon by computer. By inputting the 3D coordinate values of the product into the related CAD software system, the 3D model could be obtained. The principles, the system software were introduced in details about the measurement system of the homogeneous entity profiles. Proved through principium experiment, the system satisfies the request of the measuring precision. The measurement system is effective and feasible.

A PXI-based microwave interferometer system is constructed to measure the velocity of interior ballistic ammunition. The hardware and software structure of the system is introduced. Wavelet denoising and polynomial chirplet transform is used to process motion signals. Finally, experiments are conducted aiming at the launching process of a certain object, and results show that the proposed system is of high efficiency to calculate the velocity-time, displacement-time and acceleration-time curve of the ammunition. As an experimental case study, the proposed system has been applied to interior ballistic measurement.

This paper expounds the hardware and software system design for the transformer temperature measurement based on optical fiber grating. According to the linear relationship between the Bragg grating center wavelength and temperature, the FBG-T-01 optical fiber sensors constitute a sensor array through the WDM principles. And the tunable release-pearl ROM cavity (F-P) filtering demodulation method is used for wavelength detection. On the basis, the polynomial fitting algorithm for peak is proposed. The software system could find anomaly problem of transformer winding problem timely. The measurement point temperature and the temperature rise rate both are the criterions to judging transformer winding temperature normal or not. The experimental results show that optical fiber grating temperature measuring system is accurate and stable. It can perform the transformer temperature measurement task favourably.

To investigate environment of the management discipline, we represent software engineering environments by an activity flow model and a micro cycle model. A unified management view of software metrics is established by their collectivity and comprehensiveness in two-dimensional flows of the activity flow model. Then, we propose the Software Quality Manager (SQM) as a realization of the management discipline of software metrics. The proposed software quality manager makes use of two knowledge bases: (1) knowledge about application domain in the form of reusable software components and (2) knowledge about software engineering. The three-stage architecture and preparation process of the proposed system are also presented. Finally, we propose how to support the measurement and analysis task for database management systems within the context of the software quality manager.
