Abstract:
Abstract Many construction projects today are planned and managed using computer technology. An integral part of the management of these projects is sophisticated software, which includes statistical probabilistic methods. The main task in this area is direct verification of the validity of planned labour productivity values during the construction process according to the recorded average performance values. Using selected statistical methods and analyses, a case study can document this type of undertaking, for example, in a selected masonry process in which the upper and lower limits of performance, i.e. the optimistic and pessimistic bounds, may be calculated with 95% probability. Evaluation of these performance parameters in the construction software used for this study showed a difference in time of 11 days at the end of the process. The figures indicated a 9.6% and 14.3% decrease in labour productivity, respectively, for the optimistic and pessimistic values compared to the construction software ’ s planned values. Repeated evaluation of performance can aid in improving labour productivity and attaining project milestones and subsequent construction deadlines during the construction process. This paper aims to confirm or refute this theoretical balance using probabilistic statistical methods and to emphasize the importance of statistical analysis in the real construction process with the use of the software.

Abstract The factors that affect the trustworthiness of complex software system include not only the trustworthiness of subsystem services, but also the selection and construction process of subsystem services. According to the selection and construction process of sub services, this paper has proposed the concept of trusted agent. The trusted agent contains the key modules such as trustworthiness measurement and selection of software services, which can filter external software services and send the screened high-quality results to the system, so as to optimize the construction process of complex system. The method of software system construction based on trusted agent not only ensures the trustworthiness of the construction process, but also reduces the degree of manual participation, and improves the efficiency and automation of the software system construction process.

Abstract:
As the world business enlarging day by day, and designing of the buildings are getting complex and demanding more technology to enhance its stability, performances, cost, duration and its uniqueness of designing. At the later part of development in civil engineer majority of the work was transformed from conventional system to a well organized and computerized system, most of the time the company employees and owners were in live risk, due to non availability of technology. As time goes technology develops, having this in mind we had also suggested using Etabs software in our design. Etabs is a 3D analysis and designing of the buildings, it is engineering software which is used in construction and designing or analysis of complex multi stored buildings. Composite column is actually the amalgamation of two traditionally methodologies structure steel and structure concrete, their design could be based on concrete or steel methodology. Any method can be used to develop composite column approach. Composite columns are designed by applying different components of structure steel and concrete in according to use the advantages and property of each material. The outer and inner behavior of the concrete and structural steel ingredients make the Composite column is very unbending, enough squashy, cost effective and generally makes it efficient partner of the building and bride constructions. Normally three kinds of composite column sections are using in high risky building construction. The building was analyzed by using Etabs and designed according to the needed requirement. Composite column technology for construction of building is now a day’s very popular and has more advantages over the conventional designing of buildings, currently we see tall buildings with great advantages such as less space more accommodation, parking, and many more, these all can only be achieved if we implement the concept and idea of composite construction. This is why composite construction is so good; the one line reason behind this is that it combines both steel and concrete into one unit. By combining these materials can strengthen and provide best result in extremely enough and light weight design. Composite by column can also save our time and we can construction the complex buildings in short term. One of the biggest achievement if is done in construction by composite column is the cost reduction, because most of the constructions companies are being lost and dropped its position due to non profitability.

Abstract:
An integral part of managing the construction of investment units is the monitoring of labor productivity using statistical methods in combination with construction software. Such a combination includes a number of methods and modeling, among which is a method for determining the probability of the completion of construction processes based on the recorded mean value of labor productivity and its variations. For investment units consisting of two or more objects, it is necessary to assess the probability of the completion of construction processes related to follow-up activities and which are carried out by the same work crews. Based on the selected probability modeling, the aim of this contribution was to show how statistical methods and software support can contribute to savings in resources, both human and time, in construction production. The aspect is documented in a case study of residential buildings. The Lindeberg–Lévy and Moivre–Laplace theory and the Bernoulli principle were used for mathematical modeling. The CONTEC construction software was applied as the software support. The performed modeling showed a decrease in the mean value of performance for all the processes examined compared to the planned values, except for the implementation of reinforced concrete monolithic structures. For these reasons, the working capacities had to be increased in order to meet construction milestones.

Abstract:
This paper presents a framework and a prototype for designing Integrated Construction Management (ICM) software applications using reusable components. The framework supports the collaborative development of ICM software applications by a group of ICM application developers from a library of software components. The framework focuses on the use of an explicit software development process to capture and disseminate specialized knowledge that augments the description of the ICM software application components in a library. The importance of preserving and using this knowledge has become apparent with the recent trend of combining the software development process with the software application code. There are three main components in the framework: design patterns, design rationale model, and intelligent search algorithms. Design patterns have been chosen to represent, record, and reuse the recurring design structures and associated design experience in object-oriented software development. The Design Recommendation and Intent Model (DRIM) was extended in the current research effort to capture the specific implementation of reusable software components. DRIM provides a method by which design rationale from multiple ICM application designers can be partially generated, stored, and later retrieved by a computer system. To address the issues of retrieval, the paper presents a unique representation of a software component, and a search mechanism based on Reggia's setcover algorithm to retrieve a set of components that can be combined to get the required functionality is presented. This paper also details an initial, proof-of-concept prototype based on the framework. By supporting nonobtrusive capture as well as effective access of vital design rationale information regarding the ICM application development process, the framework described in this paper is expected to provide a strong information base for designing ICM software.

Abstract In the open-source computing environment, the software service individuals that constitute the system are highly independent. The construction of software system is changed into combination and iteration, which puts forward higher requirements for the system architecture. Based on algebra of communication process, this paper abstracts the individual software service into service items, and uses the operation rules in communication algebra to realize the construction and modification of software architecture, thus ensuring the preciseness of the construction process and the stability of the architecture. Finally, a system with 12 sub services is used as a case to demonstrate the evolution process of service adding, deleting and replacing operation, which also verified the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

Abstract:
Service-based software (SBS) modeling is considered as a promising way to develop high-quality service-based systems. One major challenge of this methodology is how to effectively utilize existing software services in the process of system modeling to ensure the reliability of the system while reducing the development cost. In this paper, we propose an evolutionary method for the formal specification construction of SBS to tackle this problem. Initial requirements are gradually transformed into a formal design specification through three steps during which existing services are discovered, filtered, selected and adopted. Candidate services are discovered through a keyword-based searching. Then the services are analyzed from both the structural and behavioral perspectives for filtering. A specification-based testing technique is exploited to rigorously determine which candidate services are finally selected. The selected services are incorporated into the formal design model of the system. We present a case study that was conducted for evaluating the usability of the method. We have also developed a prototype tool for supporting the method to be applied in practice.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the process in which the software engineering students construct their professional identities. Design/methodology/approach – The study followed the qualitative method using grounded theory methodology to examine the process of identity construction. Data were collected from final year software engineering students in an iterative manner. Findings – Based on the present study, the study argues that entry-level identities of students are modified and adjusted in response to their experience of identity violations over the course of their academic program. These violations were caused by their unmet expectations from the academic program. The magnitude of these violations is influenced by their perceived value derived from the training they were receiving. Research limitations/implications – This paper explains the process of “identity morphing” as a mechanism by which students resolve the conflict/violation of their identities. The emergence and adaptation of different types of identities were examined. This study can be extended to the employees of IT organizations to draw a holistic picture. Practical implications – The understanding of identity morphing process might enable organizations to enrich their interaction with their employees and thus provide avenues to improve their work-related outcomes. Originality/value – Previous studies have explored professional identity construction among individuals. However, how software professionals construct their professional identity, during their education years, is relatively unexplored. The present study asserts that professional identities are formed among the students even before they join the organization.

Abstract:
The construction of bridges with use of seismic isolation is a less-used concept in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The concept of seismic isolation of bridges is a way of protecting bridge construction without damaging the pillars and substructure unlike the currently used methodology of consideration and development of plastic joints. When using this concept correctly, it is possible to prevent serious damage of construction and greatly reduce economic losses. Creation of a FEM (Fine Element Method) model, that is capable of correct description of the bridge behavior during a seismic event is often problematic. In this paper, the features of designing and modeling of bridge constructions with use of seismic insulation based on elastomeric bearings are presented. Furthermore, the calculations of stiffness constants required for numerical modeling are presented as well. In this paper are described methods of modeling of seismic isolations in a commonly and commercially available FEM based software. The work also contains a comparison of possibilities as well as limits of these programs. We further present recommendations for correct modeling by use of nonlinear material properties or elastic bonds between elements.

Construction process control for rotation construction of the long-span anch bridge is not only the key measure to ensure the states meeting the design requirements of the constructed bridge, but also is the important part to ensure the construction quality and safety. Therefore, it is necessary to control the construction for the long-span self-anchored arch bridge. The paper established the control system according to the rotation constrcution for the long-span self-anchored arch bridge which is overpass a exited major highway. And took a follow-up observations for the actual states of the constructing arch bridge, and used the finite enlement software ANSYS to analyze the stress of the structure and static and dynamic stress in the process of rotation construction. Comparing the theoretical value to the measured results showed that there was good meet between the results. And the rotation construction was stable, the vertical displacement and the acceleration were smaller, and didn’t take a bad effects on the structure. According to the results of the finite element and monitoring, it will provide the target of the construction monitoring for each construction segment, and meet the final design of the bridge, furthermore it will provide a reliable reference for the smooth progress of construction.

Lean construction is aimed to improve construction performance by eliminating wastes that do not add value to the customer. This project studies lean construction and its application in concrete construction projects at both the operation and project levels. In conjunction with a concrete contractor, actual concrete construction projects were observed, and problem areas contributing to delay and other wastes were identified. At the project level, the lack of coordination among subcontractors was cited as one of the major factors contributing to schedule delays. This paper proposes to use the last planner concept, the linear scheduling method, and the graphic schedule method to improve communication and look-ahead scheduling. Related software was developed for implementing this scheduling tool. At the operation level, a systematic approach of was identification, operation re-design, and employee training was applied to reduce wastes found in the field operation. A case study of bulkhead installation was used to demonstrate this approach, and a 3D animation was created for employee training.

Abstract:
In the construction industry, there are two methods for constructing basements (Top-Down) and (Bottom-UP). The difference between them lies in the sequence of works, since in the (Bottom-Up) method the end of the excavation work is the necessary condition for the beginning of the substructure construction, and this is different from the (Top Down) method where excavation and construction of the substructure and the superstructure are carried out in parallel, which significantly reduces the project duration but at the same time increases the construction cost. Also there is a difference in terms of use for each of these two methods, for example, it is preferable to use the (Top-Down) in dense urban areas, where there is not enough space for the construction and where there are concerns that the adjacent buildings may be deformed as a result of construction, and this is what the (Bottom-Up) method cannot provide. In order to determine the optimal method from a mathematical point of view, 7 main criteria and 25 sub-criteria were identified, and the Analytic Hierarchy Process was used to solve this multi-criteria problem. Using the Expert Choice software, we found that the (Top-Down) method is preferred by 14.8% more than (Bottom-Up), and a sensitivity analysis was performed to determine which criteria dominated our optimal result.

Abstract:
This paper presents the development of a visual inspection methodology for engineered wood products that are commonly used in residential construction in the USA. Engineered wood products include wood composite structural elements such as I-joists, oriented strand board, and structural composite lumber products, and metal plate connected wood trusses. Due to the proprietary nature of wood composite engineered products, there are no uniform standards between different manufacturers for installation and use. If improper installation methods are used, engineered wood products may not be able to safely carry design loads. Improper use or modifications constitute prescriptive code violations. Construction errors that result from the unique installation requirements demonstrate the need for specific inspection methods to detect installation errors early in the construction process. The goal of this research is to develop an expert-validated visual inspection methodology, associated knowledge base, and software application for selected engineered wood products and hanger hardware for non-compliance at the pre-drywall stage of new residential construction. A modified Delphi method was used to solicit and refine inspection methods from subject matter experts. Based on these results, an inspection method and computer software application were developed. The method establishes a systematic expert-validated inspection procedure that identifies known high-risk areas for installation problems for engineered wood products. The software contains the instructions for implementing the inspection method, a reference library of authoritative installation guidelines and illustrations, the ability to document observed defects, and a vehicle to create a report. The experts validated the method and software application, and confirmed the usefulness for detecting construction errors.

Abstract:
Nowadays, the development of construction industry is one of the development indices of countries. On the other hand, development of construction industry is more urgent than ever with increased population and consequently, increased desire for urbanization. Considering the inadequacy of traditional and conventional systems for mass housing production, the approach to use modern industrial methods of building along with new technology and observance of the latest technical standards is critical. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate and compare construction method of reinforced concrete cast in-situ walls and slabs with the conventional method of constructing concrete structures using MSP software. Studies show that the integrated wall and ceiling molding technique has been used since the late 1970s in the construction of high-rise residential towers. Currently, integrated wall and ceiling molding system is used as one of the methods in the construction of buildings with load-bearing wall and concrete ceiling. This method brings about improvements in quality, earthquake resistance, reduced run-time, reduced cost, quick return on investment, saving on materials consumption, reduced labor, eco-friendliness, sustainability and longer durability, reduced resource consumption, integrated structure, fire resistance, high flexibility, and employee safety.

Abstract:
Construction projects require a significant amount of money and other resources in order to carry them out in an effective way. Cost control is a critical step in ensuring the success of the project and increasing its value. Nowadays, the large-scale application of BIM technology has ushered a technical change in the development of construction projects, which has greatly increased the level and efficiency of project management. Due to BIM technology, the construction engineering quality is significantly improved which really helped in obtaining the social and economic benefits. However, the BIM technology in our country is started relatively late and the technical force is not strong enough; then correspondingly, we must deal with many problems in the process of developing and using BIM technology based projects. In view of the fact and to address this issue, this paper establishes a three-dimensional architectural model based on the relevant information and data of the construction project using the BIM technology. The proposed model optimizes the clustering of construction project information data and adaptively configures the whole life cycle process of the construction projects. In addition, the performance of the proposed system has been compared and tested with the other systems as well which shows how good the proposed system is, as compared to the other systems. Further, the proposed model makes the artificial intelligence efficiency of the project management better. The simulation results show that the model not only has good access and query capabilities but also greatly improves the intelligence level of the project management.

Abstract:
It is shown that most technologies for creating information systems are based on an object-oriented approach and provide for the presentation of functional requirements in the form of use cases. However, there is no general agreement on the format of the use cases and the rules for describing script items. The work has improved the classification of items of use cases basing on the analysis of a great number of existing descriptions from different subject areas. New rules have been introduced and the existing rules have been clarified for describing use cases, which made it possible to further formalize and automate the process of describing use cases. It is also proposed to automate the process of forming a model of program classes by introducing additional information linking the class with use cases. Thus, the programming class model contains significantly more information for coding than the existing models in UML diagrams. A method for constructing a model of program classes has been developed. Methods for the automated description of use cases and the construction of a model of program classes are linked into a single process. The level of information richness of the class model also makes it possible to automate the debugging process associated with changing requirements. Since the decisions made cover most of the steps in the software module creation process, they collectively represent a new technology. The proposed model, methods and technology were implemented in the ModelEditor and UseCaseEditor software products. Approbation of the method for automating the description of use cases demonstrated a decrease in the number of errors compared to the traditional method of describing more than two times, and shortening the time  more than one and a half times. Testing the method for constructing a model of program classes showed its advantage over the existing technology: errors and time reduction  almost one and a half times. The proposed technology can be used in the development of any information systems.

Abstract:
Introduction: Planning integrated development of a residential area involves determining the composition of the objects to be built and creating an appropriate integration mechanism, backed up by a generalized work schedule. The existing methods of forming integrated work schedules do not use a systemic approach, based on a universal mathematical model, to describe the organizational and technological aspects of construction. Methods: The present study uses the method of uncertain resource coefficients to demonstrate a mechanism for systemically describing organizational and technological construction processes. We present a way of adapting this method to forming a generalized construction schedule during integrated development. The proposed adaptation mechanism is based on managing schedule calculations by rationally influencing the elements of the linear equation system that describes the organizational and technological processes. Results and Discussion: The solutions presented in the paper are fully consistent with the calculations obtained by different flow methods of organizing construction, as well as with the critical path method used in project management programs. The method described in the paper has been implemented in well-known project management software, Microsoft Project, as a macro program in the Visual Basic for Applications programming language, making it possible to form, calculate, and optimize a schedule for integrated territory development using the unified software toolkit.

Abstract:
Abstract At present, there are many problems in the construction process of the double prevention mechanism in iron mine, such as unclear construction steps, disconnection of construction process, and deviation of construction priorities, et al. Based on the PDCA cycle mode and the improved risk assessment method for working conditions, the construction method of double prevention mechanism in iron mine is analyzed and studied. The yaahp meta-decision software (Analytic Hierarchy Process software) is used to determine the weight of hazardous factors and their corresponding control measures. The concept of “failure frequency” is put forward and the calculation method of accident probability (L) is modified to realize the accurate hierarchical control of accident risk; At the same time, the failure of control measures is defined as “hidden danger”, and then the transmission mechanism of hidden danger investigation and management and risk grading management and control is established. The “Information management system of double prevention mechanism in iron mine” is developed by adopting the B/S structure to realize the informatization of the double prevention mechanism construction. According to the above methods and steps, the double prevention system of iron mine can be reasonably established to effectively identify risks and control hidden dangers and provide favorable guarantee for the safe production of iron ore.

This article describes how a visual cryptography scheme, with one prominent feature—decrypting simply, has attracted much research attention since it was first proposed. However, meaningless shares remain a continuing challenge in the development of VCS. In this article, an extended visual cryptography scheme (EVCS) based on XOR operation is proposed, in which QR codes are utilized as the cover images of shares. By designation, all the shares generated in the scheme can be decoded by standard QR code readers with specific meaning. In addition, to achieve high sharing efficiency, a method of simultaneously sharing a secret QR code among multiple subsets is presented. Also, sufficient and necessary conditions of the method are analyzed with an integer programming model, providing a general construction approach for EVCS under arbitrary access structures.

Abstract:
Many problems are encountered in the construction of bifurcated tunnels due the abrupt change in section, small clear distance, and large section. Progress in the direction of tunnel construction is limited by the large-span section; therefore, a special method of construction that involves constructing a guiding tunnel first followed by reverse excavation was adopted to construct the large-span bifurcation section of the Liantang tunnel of Shenzhen Eastern Transit Expressway in China. The stability criterion of the surrounding rock of the middle wall in the section of multiple arch and small clear distance is studied by theoretical analysis, and the internal stress and corresponding ultimate strength of the middle wall under different buried depths and widths of the middle wall are calculated by the stability criterion. In this study, 3D finite-difference software was used to simulate the excavation process under forward and reverse excavation conditions. The results show that the displacement field and internal force field distribution are similar for both excavation methods, and the tunneling first and reverse excavation construction method is safe and reliable.
