Abstract:
Life expectancy is a phenomenon that concerns both theorists and practitioners in sociological, economic, and anthropological research. Declining of mortality and enhancement of the tangible life expectancy of the population depend on the ecological condition of the environment, the level and lifestyle of the people, and the efficiency of health and medical services. According to the estimates of scientists over the past 160 years the real life expectancy increases by three months every year. Studies of factors influencing on life expectancy prove how much each individual will live. Longevity is variable and depends on living conditions, living standards, and nutrition. The main task of the government of economically developed countries is to create conditions for scientists to further research in the field of extending the human life cycle.

Abstract:
This paper presents the complexity of the contemporary social economy system – its definitions, points of reference, role played in socio-economic development. Furthermore the paper presents a review of selected approaches to social economy, including definitional approaches, e.g. those specific to Anglo-Saxon and continental traditions. It discusses the context in which it emerged and developed as a phenomenon in the public policy and economic areas. It analyses the dynamics of social economy development in Poland, including institutional environment and selected mechanisms of public management. It stresses that top-down initiatives – including those of the central government and the EU institutions – are a key element in making the social economy dynamic in developing the forms of activity (in view of the weakness of endogenous factors). The central and local governments place social economy at the heart of their strategies in many public policies.

Abstract:
The problem of identifying the factors of individual altruism in the socio-cultural context and at the intercountry level is posed and solved for the first time. Econometric analysis of panel data on 34 countries for 2010–2019 confirmed the results, obtained in local screenings for particular regions and population groups. Namely, such factors as social welfare, happiness and civic engagement showed statistical significance in the regression analysis of the sample under study. Furthermore, there are reasons to assume that some relations may be parabolic in nature and, thus, indicate the nonlinear development of the altruism phenomenon. In addition, the previously overlooked socio-economic determinants stipulated by the philosophy of collaboration were tested on empirical level. Through the inclusion of new variables, it was possible to identify the special role of the culture of tolerance in the generation of altruistic behavior. Also, econometric calculations revealed that the nature of some factors’ impact depends on the level of economic development of a certain country. According to the results, primary positive determinants of altruism for developed countries are happiness and political activity, while for developing countries — social well-being. Hierarchical cluster analysis made it possible to identify and further study a subgroup of developed countries with a higher culture of tolerance. The findings showed the importance of determining the phenomenon of happiness, complexity of which presets the principle differentiation of altruism factors for different groups of countries. The results of this work can be used for further study of collaborative mechanisms, in particular, the study of motivation and effectiveness of international development assistance.

The basic economic category that is analysed in modern economy is growth. Referring this phenomenon to socio-economic space, the problem of its uniformity arises. In spatial development concepts, it is assumed to self-align this phenomenon (neoliberal concepts) or to force it through interventionism (Keynesian concepts). However, phenomena such as polarization and convergence occur in all considerations. These phenomena are perceived differently in diverse theories and doctrines, which is the reason they have different meanings and expectations

Abstract:
This study attempts to explain the insurgency in Balochistan in the context of existing socio-economic disparities. Structural etiology is a systemic and institutionalized deprivation of the people to their needs and rights. The empirical evidence suggests that violence in Balochistan is a complex phenomenon triggered by numerous instigators. The data on socio-economic indicators testifies that Balochistan lags behind the rest of the provinces on all important indicators, which points towards structural negligence. From the analysis of the data collected through interviews, socio-economic discrimination has been an influential factor that promoted Baloch insurgency.

Abstract:
This article is aimed at studying the prospects for the development of social and economic relations in the context of forming digital economy and potential growth of technological unemployment. To achieve this goal, the article provides a retrospective analysis of works of various representatives of domestic and foreign economic schools, as well as proposals of the International Labor Organization and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Judging by the results of the first part of the study, international institutions attempt to improve social and economic relations in a coordinated manner due to the fact that the rapid development of digital economy can have ambiguous consequences. However, the analysis shows that such actions are likely to be ineffective because of the unique characteristics of states. The second part of the study is aimed at studying the role and position of the Russian Federation in this process. For this purpose, the author carries out a chronological analysis of social and labor relations starting with the period of the Russian Empire and ending with modern Russia in the context of the phenomenon of technological unemployment. The results of the primary research indicate that, due to the unique socio-economic characteristics, technological unemployment was not a dominant feature of the Russian reality. However, a more detailed analysis based on specific empirical data allows us to identify the facts of technological displacement of the labor force, as well as describe the level of social and labor relations in the Russian Empire in the pre-revolutionary period. Based on the results obtained in the first and second parts of the study the author tries to give an objective description of the peculiarities of social and labor relations in the modern Russian Federation in the context of the potential growth of technological unemployment. The current economic picture points to the high risks of technological unemployment in the Russian Federation and updates the adoption of urgent measures to design improved social and labor relations in the Russian Federation.

Abstract:
Abstract The topicality of the topic lies in the importance of globalization from the perspective of sustainable development in the socio-economic and ecological sphere. Globalization cannot be considered as representing a completely new phenomenon in the history of the world, it has certain historical antecedents, many specialists arguing that it is nothing but a new name for an older phenomenon. Globalization is the global trend of the world’s economies to become borderless and interconnected. Globalization has caused major damage to nature and the drying up of non-renewable resources, creating the possibility of global campaigns to develop. Civil societies are less efficient in the face of global factors, which cannot be held accountable, such as governments or companies anchored in the territory, visible and affordable.

The relevance of the work lies in the need for creative understanding of the processes of evolutionary transition from a hierarchical management system in favor of the modular interaction of economic agents operating in socio-economic ecosystems in the context of modern digital transformation. The purpose of the article is to study the phenomenon of risk in the context of the digital transformation of socio-economic ecosystems based on the generalization and systematization of scientific sources in the field of research and analytical interpretation of statistical indicators of the digital transformation of the Russian Federation and its regions. Theoretical conclusions and practical proposals of scientists-economists specializing in the field of economic theory, systems theory, innovative economics, economic security, risk management were used as methodological foundations. It has been established that digital transformation is accompanied by certain risks for socio-economic ecosystems of various levels, creating threats for development purposes. It is substantiated that the main risk of the success of the digital transformation of socio-economic ecosystems at present is a significant differentiation of the regions of the Russian Federation in terms of the level of development of IT infrastructure, the availability of human resources and information security. It was revealed that in Russian economic science there is a tendency to spread the use of the definition of "socio-economic ecosystem" from stable, highly integrated cluster-type formations to regional and interregional levels and to identify their development indicators with the criteria for sustainable development of territories. The conclusion is formulated: the phenomenon of risk in the context of the digital transformation of socio-economic ecosystems is that, along with positive effects, a whole range of new threats and risky situations appear that impede the achievement of the desired development goals, predetermining the use of a constructive approach in public and sectoral management based on the integration relevant competencies, innovative technologies and management practices.

Abstract:
A reader will meet two essays, which can be conventionally called the fairy stories: “Phase transition” and “Fifth dimension”. In the first essay, the reader will get acquainted with the essence of phase transitions, which mean a jump-like change in the state of a system. The paper considers the role of phase transitions in the development of nature and social systems. The reader will also be able to view the contours of the modern phase transition to the new socio-economic formation that takes place during the Third and Fourth Industrial Revolutions. In particular: new things should appear, new types of alternative energy; new technologies (based on the use of 3D printers); fully automated production (“Internet of things”, “smart networks”); new communications (modes of transport and communication); unmanned transport; new economic relations (solidary economy); new needs of people (use of information for personality for development of people); a new reality of global management of human civilization (based on the “cloud” as a planetary system of memory); a new style of life, aimed at the personality development of man. The second essay – “Fifth Dimension” – depicts a figurative picture of forming the prerequisites for phase transitions in society. They are formed by the accumulation of unresolved problems that cannot be solved by society at the existing level of socio-economic development. This is precisely what the inevitable process of the phase transition to a new formation makes. The essay also reveals the role of social prediction as the basis of justified strategic management of social development. This ensures sustainable state of the socio-natural system, leaving sufficient opportunities for future generations to meet their social and economic needs. The paper shows the significance of such reality as the “cloud”, which at the moment serves as a global system of memory, is evolving in the direction of transformation into a planetary center of decision-making – a kind of meta-intelligence. Key words: phase transition, socio-economic formation, social development, transformation, “cloud”.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to determine the degree of tourism penetration on 30 island countries and dependencies of the Caribbean region. This tourism penetration is perceived as part of research in two dimensions: economic and socio-spatial. As a result of adopting such a perspective, stages of tourism penetration were determined using two indicators constructed for the research. The Tourism Economic Impact Index (TEI) measured the economic dimension, while the second indicator was the Tourist Socio-spatial Impact Index (TSI). Determining the degree of tourism penetration on these two dimensions was to identify those areas most exposed to economic threats resulting from ‘tourism monoculture’ (the final penetration phase of a tourism economy) and, as defined to discuss overtourism, the risks arising from too many inbound visitors at the same time. The research revealed that Caribbean dependent territories show the tendency to the highest penetration in both dimensions. Further analysis was made into the economic assessment of the phenomenon of ‘tourism monoculture’ and the dangers of this extreme form of export-oriented specialisation in the context of socio-economic development. Despite presenting positive premises, the phenomenon was critically assessed.

Abstract:
The article touches upon the problems of the categories of equality and justice in socio-economic relations. Using the comparative legal and historical method, the paper shows the dynamics of the development of the phenomenon of social justice and shows the factors that influenced the understanding of the category of equality of opportunities. The article also touches upon the problems of implementing the idea of partnership between the state and the individual in the Russian Federation. The uneven distribution of income as a practical aspect of socio-economic relations in itself is not always the result of a lack of social justice or the result of an ineffective state policy in the field of ensuring its obligations. The author concludes that it is necessary to distinguish between inequality of results and inequality of opportunities. That is, if there is a provision of equal starting opportunities for all citizens, there may not be equality in society in terms of consumption. In this case, we can also highlight the fact that equality, as a phenomenon, can be both positive and negative. In this regard, fair inequality is a familiar situation for a democratic society and normal socio-economic relations.

Abstract:
Abstract Second homes have seen increased research interest over the last decade. On the whole, these investigations have mainly been understood in the spatial context of the developed North. Second homes have only recently been seen as a role player in the changing economic spatialities of small town geographies in South Africa. This growing scholarship on second homes has, however, been less concerned with the social impacts of the phenomenon. The investigation is set against the argument that second homes have social impacts on the immediate and surrounding areas in which they are situated. This investigation also demonstrates that second homes are phenomena with which not only the elite engage but a range of different socio-economic cohorts, including the poor. The social impacts of second homes in this investigation are shown to vary along race and class lines. Against the backdrop that second homes are relevant to very large parts of South African society, the social impacts associated with second homes need to be taken into account in future development planning in South Africa.

Abstract:
Until a few decades ago, crime was considered to be a predominantly male phenomenon, but as women increasingly joined the mainstream of society, their share in crime increased considerably the world over. The family unit has been torn apart because of economic necessity, increasing awareness of women’s rights and the need to step out of home to reach the work place. In fact the growing rate of woman prisoners can be linked to social changes, especially in urbanization and new agents of social control such as urban police and moral reformers. The fewer job opportunities and lower wages for women resulted in economic marginalization and increased the need for women to resort to crimes such as prostitution, especially during wars, when men were not able to support their families. Prostitution was often, the most readily available way for women to support themselves and their children.

The article examines the relationship of such phenomena as the economic system of society, culture and fashion. Culture is considered as a factor in the formation of socio-economic institutions of social systems. The increasing complexity of relations of modern society determines the relevance of the categorical refinement of phenomena and processes that are not purely economic factors. One of those is the phenomenon of fashion. If the interrelation of culture and fashion is obvious, since in scientific literature fashion is considered primarily as an aesthetic, culturological, socio-psychological phenomenon, then the conditions of trans-economy (J. Baudrillard) give rise to the need for a theoretical understanding of the fashion phenomenon and the place of its real-ontological forms in development economic system of modern society.

Abstract:
One of the most important forms of labor is self-employment. The project launched in Russia to introduce a tax on professional activities stimulated the processes of self-employment legalization and it sets a number of research tasks, including the identification of the emerging consequences of the development of selfemployment processes for the economy. This article sets the following goal: on the basis of the study of the essence of self-employment as an economic phenomenon, the goal of research consists in the identification of trends in the development of this process in the southern regions of Russia and determines the directions for effectiveness growth of their impact on the sustainability of regional development. The objects of the study were the regions of the Southern Federal District. The study determined that self-employment can act as a consequence of economic problems and as a tool for economic development. The authors identified trends in the development of self-employment in Russia and in the regions of the Southern Federal District, revealed the accelerators of this process, and they are: professional training for entrepreneurial activity; growth of the level of financial literacy of the population; availability of loans for start-ups with transparent conditions for their provision; policy supporting labor migrants in their business in their native cities; provision of self-employed with quality services and servicing, including digital ones. Suggestions for the development of self-employment processes were made and they allow increasing regional sustainability when developing social capital. It is mentioned that today it is fundamentally important for the state to give citizens with such a tax status basic social guarantees, while maintaining favorable conditions for the development of platform employment, since the self-employed are less protected in terms of social guarantees and rights.

In recent years, smart and ecological urbanism and transformations into the new models of city making have become a global mainstream. These are models of the smart city, the eco-city, and the eco-megacity. The article proposes a conceptual approach to the formation of the eco-megacity as a qualitatively new phenomenon in the post-industrial economy. The prerequisites for the transformation of a megapolis into an eco-megacity have been analyzed. The key characteristics of the new phenomenon have been revealed. The role of collaboration as the main factor in increasing the efficiency of interaction processes between ecosystem actors and between ecosystems themselves has been presented. The relationship of the formed ecosystem approaches and the groups of actors during implementation of an institutional project in the megapolis have been determined. It allows for the transformation of a megapolis into an eco-megacity. The ant colony optimization algorithm for studying the symbiosis of socio-economic ecosystems in the megapolis has been proposed. The authors have attempted to contribute to the development of theoretical and methodological aspects of the emerging eco-megacity concept as a new phenomenon of the modern economy.

Abstract:
Gambling can be defined as a common name for a set of different games, behaviors and activities, which involve investing money or some other value, with risk and hope in anticipation of a positive outcome. With the development of society, gambling took on different forms and meanings depending on the socio-cultural norms and beliefs of a given era. Today we are talking about gambling as a generally accepted activity, present in different social contexts. Although most individuals participate in gambling as a fun social activity, a small group of people become seriously involved in gambling activities, which currently leads to the recognition of gambling as a behavioral addiction, known as ?gambling disorder?. Various public policy factors, economic factors, community factors, social norms, legislation, as well as media coverage of gambling have made a huge contribution to the popularization and liberalization of gambling. The aim of this paper is to summarize scientific knowledge about key socio-cultural aspects of gambling. Based on a review of relevant and recent literature, the paper will present the development of gambling throughout history, socio-cultural factors of gambling and the social implications of gambling.

The purpose of the research is to determine the political and socio-economic roots of the Arab spring and define its consequences. The article demonstrates similar and distinct features of revolutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries. Particular attention is paid to the transformational consequences in this region. The study results show that the Arab Spring has not brought optimistic changes but worsened socio-economic problems. The Arab Spring uprisings have led to riots, civil wars, social militarisation, the revival of terrorist organisations that affected the economy. The phenomenon of the Arab spring has appeared because of mass discontents with the ruling regimes. This phenomenon is associated with a wave of protests in MENA that have led to a transformation of political, social, inter-regional, economic and financial systems of the region. Revolutions and civil wars have forced migrations to Europe. In turn, this has destabilised the European labour market and drawn the attention of governments to the growing Islamisation of the cultural sphere. The study is interdisciplinary and assesses change of political regimes in Arabic societies.

The article presents an overview of theoretical approaches to the definition of the globalization essence and its representation as a phenomenon of the contemporary society economic development. The authors note the lack of an unambiguous and generally recognized approach to determining the research subject and offer their own theoretical approach. Together with a refined definition of globalization, the authors present their own view on its aspects, among which they distinguish geopolitical, economic, social, humanitarian, cultural and environmental ones. The research subject is considered in relation to socio-economic systems of various levels; at the same time, the authors assume that at different levels of the socio-economic system, the globalization processes manifest themselves in different ways, carry different opportunities and threats. As a conclusion, it is noted that globalization is not exclusively a political, economic or cultural process, it is a complex that involves a large-scale exchange or penetration of technologies, culture, capital and information, labor migration, international integration in the political, economic, environmental and humanitarian spheres, it is aimed at increasing the efficiency of national economies and forming joint responses to global challenges.

Abstract Through the socio-economic generated implications, unemployment is a very complex social phenomenon. The economic reality showed there is no single solution for unemployment. There are no pure and perfect solutions, only integrated programs in the anti-crisis political system. The phenomenon itself cannot be eliminated, it can only be addressed. Through the socio-economic generated implications, the unemployment is a very complex social phenomenon, being related with poverty. Unemployment induces a drastic decrease of the living standards. As a macroeconomic complex imbalance, it impacts all the compartments of the national economy. The economic history of our century reveals that unemployment has become a mass nature. The financial difficulties of the companies, inlet by covid-19 global crises, caused a mass disorder of all the economic activity, impacting the labour market and a concern of the government to find ideal solutions to increase employment.

BackgroundSocial factors have been shown to be predictors of suicide. It is not known whether these factors vary between countries.AimsTo present a first European overview of socio-economic inequalities in suicide mortality among men and women.MethodWe used a prospective follow-up of censuses matched with vital statistics in ten European populations. Directly standardised rates of suicide were computed for each country.ResultsIn men, a low level of educational attainment was a risk factor for suicide in eight out often countries. Suicide inequalities were smaller and less consistent in women. In most countries, the greater the socio-economic disadvantage, the higher is the risk of suicide. The population of Turin evidenced no socio-economic inequalities.ConclusionsSocio-economic inequalities in suicide are a generalised phenomenon in western Europe, but the pattern and magnitude of these inequalities vary between countries. These inequalities call for improved access to psychiatric care for lower socio-economic groups.

Abstract:
Italy is one of the European countries hosting the largest number of Chinese immigrants. In the early 1980’s, the first Chinese new migrants came to Italy, where they would find an employment in the Italian textile industry. Since then, Chinese overseas have played an important role in the field of fashion, a sector of the Italian economy with a high demand in production and manual work. Petty trading and small-scale enterprises are also representations of the Chinese population’s activity in Italy. This article provides statistics concerning the Chinese migrants as an economically active person and the activities of the Chinese community in Italy as a whole. The authors analyze the phenomenon of Chinese labour migration to Italy from the point of view of the “push and pull factors” migration theory. This article illustrates the main factors leading Chinese citizens to leave their home country and shift to Italy, where China turns out to be the point of origin for one of the largest communities of extra-EU immigrants. It is shown that for the Chinese, Italy is a destination country, which is largely due to the already existing migrant network. As a case-study in the frame of this analysis, the authors take Prato (a municipal township located in Tuscany), renowned for hosting the largest Chinatown in Europe (so called “Chinese exclave”).

Abstract:
Scientific and technological progress in the post-industrial society makes it possible to improve the entire system of economic relations both nationally and globally. Today, the activities of the leading countries are inextricably linked with the development of information technologies. On their basis, the USA, Japan, Germany, Great Britain and other countries are actively involved in the process of digitalization of their economies, using the information and communication infrastructure as a foundation. Digital technologies are actively spreading in economic and social spheres (artificial intelligence, robotics, the Internet of things, wireless technology). The digital economy is becoming the basis for the development of the economic system. Very often the digital economy is seen as a sign of the fourth industrial revolution and the third wave of globalization. New opportunities for digitalization consist in gaining access to goods when the buyer needs it, thereby helping to save material and financial resources, space and time. The availability of many benefits affects the development of the behavioral economy, thereby linking it to the digital one. The era of high technologies and communications has highlighted the key points in favor of the development of the digital economy. However, this process is contradictory and its implementation requires a comprehensive analysis, since touches upon issues of a socio-economic nature. Digitalization can solve many problems, but it can also create the same number. These problems relate to the massive dissemination of digital technologies, the formation of human capital, the development of the labor market, as well as the moral and ethical side of human life and society. This is a new era in which not the whole society benefits, but a community of IT companies influencing fluctuations in the price of securities that constantly generate new stock speculations. It is clear that the transition of society to the digital economy is inevitable; this is an essential requirement of the times. The digital economy manifests in itself dialectical principles and the identification of the ambiguity of this phenomenon in economic reality determines its relevance, significance and the possibility of further development.
