Full textOver the past two decades, digital technologies have flourished. By offering endless possibilities ranging from task automation to artificial intelligence and predictive business analytics. They have changed the daily lives of billions of people around the world. The customer, now hyper connected and informed, uses digital technologies for all daily activities. This fundamental change in society is called digital transformation. It is of strategic importance to organizations facing a real upheaval in the market. A particular analysis is given to the banking industry within the framework of this thesis. Indeed, the banking world is not spared by the arrival of new players who are shaking up value chains and putting traditional players in a position to react vigorously to face this new competition (Gartner, 2019a; Forrester, 2019). In this new context, information systems (IS) have become very complex by the absorption of the latest technological trends and by the accumulation of heterogeneous transformation projects, making it possible to meet specific and specific customer needs (Benedikt Pittl , 2017). The information system must therefore manage large and complex volumes of information both useful for internal operations but also allowing it to communicate with the outside and respond to customer requests. (Roux et al., 2004) underlines that the information system is strongly linked to the strategic changes of the company. Therefore, the evolution of the information system becomes a key point in the management of change linked to digital transformation. Given its complexity, the information system is therefore a critical lever that should be included in a particular way in a reflection on the management of the evolution of the company in the digital light. The prerequisite for this reflection may lie in the knowledge, by the banks, of their current capacity to absorb the transformations generated by new technological trends. A preliminary study has shown us that organizations are having difficulty framing this transformation and identifying its limits. Based on an in-depth analysis of the state of the art and a first conceptualization of digital transformation and its specificities, we propose: 1) A model for evaluating the maturity of digital transformation. This banking-specific tool identifies the capabilities needed to improve the customer experience provided by banks. 2) An IS diagnostic model, allowing managers to better conduct transformations by analyzing their impacts on the company's information system and taking into account the existing environment. Our approach is participatory , because it offers design as a research method whose practice is an integral and essential part of the process. The contributions of this research are multiple. First of all, it contributes to the existing literature on digital transformation and the management of information systems. The diversity of methodologies used (systematic literature review, semi-structured interviews, focus groups) as well as the use of two paradigms (descriptive study and prescriptive study) for the two research projects constitute the methodological contribution. A certain number of limits are inherent in this thesis work, in its instrumental dimension in particular. The internal consistency of each tool, although put to the test by different applications, is not exempt, by construction, from a part of subjectivity and arbitrariness. The relevance of the proposed tools, although it has been possible to partially test it in the light of business cases, remains subject to the test of generalization

Full textThe beginning of the 21st century has experienced a revolution due to digital innovations. This revolution has provoked technological, situational and sociocultural changes creating our digital civilization at the same time. This doctoral thesis focuses on the new emerging skills of managers in the context of digital civilization. The purpose of my research was to complement the current “hard and soft” skills with skills of a new nature. I have designated them as: “adaptive skills”. Thanks to these, companies are to react better to economic, technological, sustainable, sociological, and political changes in their environment. This qualitative research aimed to help the transformation of organizations by disproving preconceived ideas. It consists of two parts. Firstly, I came to a hypothesis from an exploration of debates with an expert group and my own experience. Secondly, I checked the robustness of that hypothesis by involving stakeholders like digital innovators, transformation leaders and operational managers. The research has resulted in a model with 18 “game changers” and 20 “adaptive skills”. This research has shown that current competency models are not fully adapted to the context of digital civilization (in the first 50 years of the 21st century). They don't take new trends and current game changers into account. It shows why Human Resources departments should rethink their managerial skills approach by integrating the “adaptive skills”. In a fast-paced environment, this research also invites management school Deans to take those new skills into account in the preparation of the future managers

Full textFollowing the example of numerous African countries, the Gabon, is for more than ten years, the receptacle of an intense activity with variable polarization on the new technologies of information and the communication. In fact, It succumbed as the others, in the charm of paradigm of the dominant development of the societies of this beginning of XXIth century: the Information society the World Summit of which on the Information society (SMSI) of Geneva in 2003 was the crowning of a global mobilization. Without, beyond the overflowing excitement which resulted from it, political speeches of numerous actors, declarations of good intentions and leading projects " information society and ICT " which succeeded one another, the numerous geopolitical stakes conveyed by the geographical problem of the insertion of the ICT delay being perceived as such. Indeed, the geopolitics of the insertion of the ICT in the Gabon reveals a symbolic bicéphalisme become structuring: residual political action share and instrumentalisation ICT, striking modernity and outdatedness of infrastructures, socio-territorial dynamics of the accesses and the equivalent spatial disparities. It is in this uncertain political executive, that was paradoxically evoked the ambition of the Gabon to become a digital major pole. Now, in a Gabon in search of perspectives of development, the accesses to the mobile telephony, the internet access, the manners for all, the formation in the manners and their corollary (infrastructures, equipments, etc. ) are only an interface. They are supposed to feed a political project of deployment of the ICT including an industrial dimension of the services within the framework of a science park with sub-regional vocation. It is the prize of a real regional leadership High Tech and especially a "other" participation in the globalization and in the information society

Full textThe support of the social rhythms and the urban complexity are a priority for the decision-makers. However, the supplied answers are subjected to a permanent analysis of the adequacy between risk and anticipation. This thesis proposes a reflection on the consideration of the ethics in the practices of crisis management. In a first part, a state of the art of the concept shows us that the "smart city" seems to be an attractive answer for the decision-maker. She develops in a continuity assured by a resilience scheduled in the global nature. Yet, when this system based on the principle of continuity is suddenly questioned, the surprise subjects the decision-maker to a reaction of break. The disqualification of the technological services imposes then to react by referring to the fundamental concepts of the human socialization. Looked for in the depths of the consciousness of the individual in the collective, we show in a second part that the break materializes for the decision-makers under the form of ethical dilemmae. Our analysis leans on one put in perspective by the ethics of the extreme situations (conflicts, health), and on an investigation realized with decision-makers. We mobilize the concept of organizational culture, applied to the actors of the civil safety as well as to the organizations having implemented a collaborative governance of the risks. Finally, in the third part, we show that the ethical questioning realized during the phase of preparation is a way of anticipation of the uncertainties associated with the decision-making in context of crisis

Full textThe Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm brings an opportunity for advanced Demand Response (DR) solutions. Indeed, it enables visibility and control on the various appliances that may consume, store or generate energy within a home. In this thesis, we consider solutions having the capability to produce direct control decisions at different granularities based on variables measured at homes. Control schemes are driven by an optimization based on utility functions. These functions are defined based on a generic approach that considers load’s flexibility and the impact of control decisions on users. The proposed approach does not impose any restrictions on the type of controlled appliances nor on the granularity of control decisions. This enables joint control of heterogeneous loads. We consider three types of control architectures, namely centralized, partially distributed and fully distributed solutions. Schemes based on these architectures differ in the distribution of decision making among entities involved in the control and data that is made available to these entities. Numerical analysis shows the trade-offs of proposed solutions from a performance, scalability and complexity perspectives

Full textMuseums evolve in a complex environment, the result of successive waves of change since the 1980s. These changes reveal a multi-speed museum ecosystem that reveals certain inequalities, particularly in digital content. Ambitious digital strategies are being implemented by museums and many digital devices have been set up. However, professionals and researchers report difficulties encountered when conducting digital projects. The objective of this research is to understand and characterise the complexity of the collaboration between the actors of the museum sector and the providers of digital solutions; and to explore the techniques and tools put in place by the professionals involved to facilitate the implementation of these digital projects. We propose to answer the following question: "In what way does the boundary objects allow to reconcile the antecedents of institutional complexity in digital cultural mediation projects? We adopt a mode of reasoning based on pragmatist enquiry. The methodological design is articulated around three studies aiming at identifying the institutional logics specific to society museums, questioning the perceptions and social representations of the professionals involved in these projects and analysing in depth the digital project set up by two society museums
