Full textMinors are considered to be vulnerable and traditionally benefit from protective and sometimes restrictive rules designed to protect both their person and any assets they may hold. However, such rules may be undermined when the status of business partner is superimposed on that of a person in need of assistance. Nowadays, it is not uncommon for a minor to become a partner, either at the time of incorporation or during the lifetime of the company. Their entry into the partnership may be via the choice of their parents or as heir of a deceased partner. Moreover, the partnership, as a legal person only indirectly connected to the persons who form it, is governed by its own operating rules, which are virtually silent as far as that particular partner is concerned. It is therefore essential to assess the protection afforded partners who are minors in the special context of family partnerships, that is partnerships formed between members of the same family.Dépöt de la these électroniqueService commun de la documentation IVERSITÉDE PAU ET DES PAYS DE CADOURUnder French law, such protection relies on a combination of juvenile law and in particular the rules of representation and company law. It turns out that this combination sometimes allows the child's representatives to ensure the protection of the minor by taking advantage of company law or by filling in any legal gaps. However, it may transpire that this combination is achieved at the expense of the rules on protection and representation of the minor. One remarkable feature is that the combination of the two bodies of rules will work out differently depending on whether the company is set up from the outset around the minor or whether the question of the minor's entry arises after incorporation. Indeed, when the company is devised in the minor's interests, it appears that the legal representatives have considerable room for manoeuvre with regard to company law. Here, they can either take advantage of the benefits accruing from the company form or ensure the protection of the interests of the minor partner, which company law does not take into consideration except in exceptional cases where certain company forms are disallowed for such minors. Conversely, when the partnership is subject to the arrival of a minor, company law takes precedence over the law on the representation of minors, whether it is a question of organising the conditions for their acceptance as a partner or of refusing their entry into the partnership. This is what the present thesis seeks to demonstrate

Full textThe correlation between individualization and transformations of the private sphere is the main theme of this paper. It attempts to interpret and analyse the discourse rather than to examine and describe the evolution of the family and the conjugal sphere. The question of individualization and its resulting consequences 1st not new. It has already played a main part in the literature, from the predecessors to the founders of sociology. The first part of the paper hinges on the individual/community couple, part of the present and past discourses of the family, and more widely on the discourse of society. Theoretical and/or thinking relations between the successive discourses can be brought out from this dichotomy. The first chapters of the second part deal with (although less explicitly) the individual/community articulation. It tackles the recent transformations of the private sphere as well as its related discourses. We especially examine the thesis of individualization, as it is developed by the german sociologist u. Beck. Dominant in german family sociology, this thesis, which views the individualisation process not as a disintegration factor but as a new form of socialization, opens up new ways of thinking, discussion and criticism. Whereas classic sociologists considered the integration as part of the concept of community, the thesis of individualization originates from the idea that the individual is currently in the heart of the new socialization mode. Considered as a + homo optionis ;, the contemporary individual is henceforth the author of his + do-it-yourself ; biography. This new liberty implies new risks especially fragility and precariousness

Full textIn Gabon, and particularly into some Fang's "popular" families, the social success seems to refer to acquisition of material goods and money, guarantees of economic success, which, in last analysis, is a source of prestige. This representation of the social success is built and maintained by dominant actors of the social hierarchy. These social actors materialize it by the notorious exhibition of the singular goods and values (vehicles, villa, etc). For fang families, this material culture of success fitted in their daily life since the colonization and the advent of the culture of revenue. On the basis of the values inculcated in the family sphere, and on the basis of the akomga which is an endogenous practice, whose objective seems to be the favorisation of the actions of an individual in the direction of a better result, via tactics of fight against the school failure, family socialization is the place of the demonstration of various strategies complex and heterogeneous, whose finality is to arrive at the social success. This socialization implies an overlap of logics of the social holism and logics of individualization, developing the idea of independence and autonomy. The product of this socialization associated with secondary socialization of the young adults gives rise to two kinds of individuals : the standardized individual and the reconstituted individual. The first one is inclined with the éthos of Community solidarity excluding any process of autonomisation for oneself. For the second one, Community habitus, anti-individualist, who promotes the sense of duty, and responsibility with respect to the others, continues to dominate; it is consequently revalued, reformed by positive criticisms. However, these two kinds of individuals are indebted of their family. And this feeling of debt is result in a series of rules of reciprocal dependence between the members of the same family

Full textFrom a transdisciplinary approach at the crossroads of sociology, anthropology, history and philosophy, this research, in a first instance, considers how the family, everyday playground of a dialectic mesh between the same and the other, can be the privileged substrate of an “imaginary of the bond”. In the light of this hypothesis, and through the social criticism, this thesis interrogates the intersections between family bond (exhibited on stage), social bond (projected on it) and theatrical bond (which structures the dramaturgy and defines a specific theatricalness), during two timeframes particularly intricate on a socio-political standpoint: the last military dictatorship and the post-dictatorship. On the crossroads of theatrical studies and social sciences, this research explores political and social issues while bringing to the forefront the dramaturgical analysis of the corpus

Full textDrawing on the combined resources of the judicial and diocesan archives, this study of the spectre of violence within the family group unfolds against the backdrop of the rural and maritime society of Finistère during the period of cultural change that took place in the XIXth century. The study of marriage dispensations stresses the deep importance of belonging to a community group. The material from the archives of the judiciary allows us to gauge the dynamics of violence within the family. Moreover, it sheds a new light on the relationship between the people of Finistère’s own justice system and the machinery of the law, as well as the part played by the Breton language and the weight of tradition as a hindrance in the process of normalization of law. Was this clash of cultures an ominous sign, foretelling the decay of a parochial civilization facing modernity ?

Full textNicolas Rétif de la Bretonne the son of a rich Burgundian peasant was forced, like many of his fellow men in the 18th century, to leave the land of his ancestors and settle in the big city. He became a writer. His many faceted works are stamped with that uprooting. In his books, Rétif gave contrasting views of the city. Inspired by the model of the country life he had known in his youth, he wanted to better the conditions of life in the city. The Burgundian countryside, identified with a family community, his own family, and not with a village community represented a place of happiness which was the source of his utopian creation. His archetype was the household and all institutions, beyond the distinction between town and country, were to be regarded as families. The family unit enlarged into a family community must, in the end, impose its structures to the civil and political society

Full textAt the meeting point of the anthropology of kinship and the sociology of the family, the research deals with the family relationships of moose (or mossi) women as social partners. The first part expounds the social environment of the sikoomse neighbourhood, in the south-west of the moose country in burkina- faso. The amount of kinship relationships is updated and explained by local endogamy and preferential exchanges between some lineages. These points infer short distances between married women and their families. The high level of migration generates a population deficit which increases the female workload. In the second part, the daily relationships among women are analysed through their activities. Women are divided into three age groups, young girls, mothers and elderly women, thus creating a real female melting pot in which the youngest are taught about techniques but also about their matrimonial destiny. The relationships between the women of the compound stretch as far as the whole neighbourhood. For example, co-wives are not only the spouses of one man, but also of classificatory brothers. They help one another for the communal tasks but otherwise keep their distance since each spouse and her children make up an independant unit. The last part describes economic, affective and matrimonial exchanges between women and their male relatives - brothers, uncles, brothers-in-law. The parts played by women in rituals, some of which are specific to the sikoomse (initiation, funerals), have also been highlighted. The function of + circulating ; foods, informations, young brides seems to be female hallmark in this patrilineal society

Full textThe following work is an attempt to glance at the life of parishioners, through their families; in the Pyrénées Mountains, between 1680/1730 The sources come mainly from unpublished written archives. The work is divided into three parts: research on families-a look at the family Iife-then, on their position in the local society. The long and difficult research on the families, is presented as beeing the framework, the specific structure of this research. It was based on the Iife of 180 heads of families, classified in alphabetical order, which enabled us to know 234 household following their evolution up to 1730; and beyond regarding to wedding and mortality. The study of the family life, was at first purely demographic. The-family-structure was-¬later considered, revealing an environment adequate for the era. Daily life appeared to be in keeping with this time. Families protagonists and ties, were looked into according to resources, in this urban population. Families position within the parish first lead to occupations. The economic activity of the heads of family allowed us to know who invested into the land, money, and church property. Their role in the management of the «consulat », is defined. Relationships between families where difficult to established and understand. In the end, these appeared to be quite well balanced

Full textThe present thesis explores the consequences on social relations of the evolution of family policy in Poland, including the shortfalls, which may be perceived in the area of care of young children. This will be particularly explored as regards social relations between the sexes. The systemic changes, which have occurred in Poland since 1989 have brought with them a new approach to social policy, as part of the reform movement to adapt Poland to a western model based on parliamentary democracy and a market economy. Following the reforms which were carried out with the objective of joining the European Union, the current system appears more like a "safety net" than a real instrument of social policy, particularly as far as early childhood is concerned. If the communist regime never sought to call into question the unequal distribution of tasks within the family, or to favour a type of collective childcare such as child care centres, post-communist transformations in Poland have contributed to completely delegitimising them and to bringing about their massive closure. For historical and sociological reasons - the influence of the Catholic Church, traditional representations of the role of the family and the figure of the mother, the demonisation of socialist state protectionism' - this policy has hardly given rise to debate, even though it enters into contradiction with the declared positions of the European Union concerning equality between the sexes and its objectives with regard to care for children in early childhood. It was only in 2004 that the Polish public authorities, due to a strong increase in requests for collective care, were constrained to react, but at the same time putting the emphasis on individual-based solutions, according to a logic of privatisation. The present study demonstrates the contradictions, which flow from these options, and the dilemmas with which women are confronted, torn between their professional aspirations and the wish of most of them to conform to the model of the "good mother"

What solutions will they be able to bring to the headache of a glorious, but dangerous during a time of decline, Storia Patria ? How will the dynasty manage to produce a story to found their power on ? Three are the stages of the demonstration : the first one points out the disparition of florentine's historiography during the seicento, after the study of censorship which reveals what the Medici considered as secrets of State. The second stage of the demonstration shows how they bring tuscan history "out of" Firenze and its republican frame. The last part brings to light the existence of proliferating historian practices, which are not bent towards the writing of history, but vowed to its sole knowledge - thus studying the ways and places of its symbolic, politic, and social "reinvestment"

Full textUnder the influence of R. Bellarmin and of the theologians of the Roman School, Vatican I which sought to legitimise the pontifical authority of the Bishop of Rome, has left us a legacy of the ecclesiological concept of the Church as a visible, hierarchical and juridical society. Thanks to Möller of the German school of Tübingen and because of the advocates of the “new theology” of the French school (Y. Congar, H. De Lubac, J. Daniélou), Vatican II realised a real hermeneutical turning point. The Church saw itself as a communion and people of God in the history of a people going to God. In the post-conciliar search for a possible synthesis between Vatican I and Vatican II and in the African context, is the Church-family of God, a key concept of the African Synod, really a society or a communion? In a historical and hermeneutical perspective, starting with Vatican II up to the African Synod of 1994, our aim is to take contemporary Catholic theology out of the prism of the obsession of the dialectical synthesis “communion/society”. What is at stake in this study is to encourage a dialectical going-beyond of the societal model and to go out of the binomial “communion/society” in view of creating a really relational Church built on the transcending trinomial ecclesiology of the communion model. The Church-family of God, an African Symbol of the sacred, is not a society but rather a “communion”, a “family”, and a Eucharistic “fraternity” of the baptised gathered around the Risen Christ under the action of the Holy Spirit. In a Eucharistic communion, Christ is there in his fullness as a spiritual food for this life and for eternal life

Full textThis paper deals with family books and "autobiographical" texts written in Nurnberg, Augsburg and Frankfurt am Main between the middle of the 14th and the middle of the 16th Century. It contemplates the rarely raised question of the link between fatherhood and memory. In these writings, fathers are indeed carriers as well as objects of remembrance. In many cases, these books were written by fathers who passed on the duties of bookkeeping and remembrance from generation to generation. The fatherhood itself also constitutes a central element of these recollections. Some chroniclers reminisce about the founding fathers of their family, the chain of fathers and sons in their lineage, while others draw up portraits of their own father or recount their own existence for their sons' benefit. While dealing with the various aspects of memory, this paper shows the growing role of "flesh" fathers in the City and within their family by the end of the Middle Ages. By putting this evolution in the perspective of medieval representations of parenthood and fatherhood, particularly regarding the "hierarchy of fathers", we set up to emphasize the stakes and consequences of the "cultural reformation" of fatherhood in the southern cities of the Empire in the dawn of the modem period. From the fathers of memory to the memory of fathers, this paper ends up going beyond the history of family and parenthood, to include the history of these urban societies, revealing their dynamics and their social, political and religious tensions from the late Middle Ages to the early modern period

Full textThis study centers a lineage of the franconian lower nobility in the later middle ages, the von Thüngens' one, but is not a lineage-monograph: it isn't the lineage itself which have had being studied, but the various relations which were contributing to insert it in the society where it's to be seen. The main object of this research is to understand through this example how did the nobility (especially the lower one) of the south of Germany preserve its autonomy and escape the disciplining in the territorial states which the german princes were attempting to establish, contrary to what happened for example in the french or english kingdoms. Choosing the Thüngens results from their omnipresence in all the forms of organization of the nobility which may be collected in the earlier scholarly and descriptive works. Moreover, the documentation still available about the members of this lineage seems to be remarkable with regard to lower nobility. After having considered the value and the possibilities of using written documents for such a history of power, we have been studying separately the relations kept up by the Thüngens with their various social partners

Full textThis thesis deals with the existential evolution of the couple and of the love triangle in three countries (France, Belgium, Italy) of the Europe of 1929-1967, the being the following: "La femme partagée" [One woman, two love affairs] by Franz Hellens, "L’Invitée" [She came to stay] and "La femme rompue" [The woman distroyed] by Simone de Beauvoir, "Jules et Jim" [Jules and Jim] by Henri-Pierre Roché şi "L’Ennui" [The Empty Canvas] by Alberto Moravia. These texts propose a similar analysis of the love theme, which is characterized by the affective separation and the experience of a love triangle. Besides the fact that the love affairs are always complex despite the historical, economical and social conditions of the characters, the corpus contains texts in the middle of which there are couples from different geographical and cultural surroundings. The aim of this research is that of identifying, in the framework of three cultures (French, Belgium, Italian), the similar existential patterns, regarding the love relationships which ignore the cannons and acknowledge the experience of breaking out. Our reading is focused on observing the way in which the characters involved in an inextricable sentimental story deal with their situation. In our opinion, the way in which the thematic network of thirdiness is treated represents the leading thread of the corpus; a similar view of the love story, from euphoria to failure, is presented by the four authors. The great questions around which this thesis is centered are the following: the structure of the couple, the triangular relationship viewed as an attempt of salvation and the failure of both relationship and couple. The ultimate aim of the present study is the thematic approach of binary and triangular relationships. On a whole, our working hypothesis favours the following on a psychological, social and lexical plan the carrying out of the love affairs in the texts that constitute the corpus
Cojez, Anne-Marie. "Topographie du réel et espace romanesque dans En famille et autres romans d'Hector Malot." Artois, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007ARTO0005.
Full textH Malot’s career as a writer started in the late 1850’s at a time when the battle for Realism was going on. A young progressionist amenable to leftist views, he sided with the Moderns. His early novels bear witness to this commitment. Towards the end of his career he still proclaimed his support for the movement. Yet, as a proponent of the narrative tradition, he was convinced that any reality could not serve as the subject matter for an artwork, so he went his own way. Following Balzac’s example he supported character study that emphasized the moral man. E Zola rejected him as an idealist because of the small emphasis he gave to determinism and physiology. Malot’s writings, widely distributed through the press and cheap series made him a popular novelist. He relied on these medium in order for his novels to echo the moral, social and political issues that prevailed over the century. In a literary column that he wrote at the beginning of his career, he expressed his admiration for Dickens who, in Malot's own words, managed to coax his readers into seeing the shortcomings of Victorian society without shocking them and prodded them into redressing those failings. For Malot, this is where realism lies : in a literature that is in touch with the issues of the day, and with the potential to generate a reaction to them. The study of En Famille confirms the stance taken by H MALOT. If the book was not written until documentation had been gathered and research carried out in line with the procedure required for a realist novel it was devised out of a move in which imagination and narrative play a leading part. In a way that is even more overt than in other realist novels, genuine places open up onto a dreamlike world which serves as a backdrop to the story. The novel is nonetheless linked to the events that were foremost on French people’s minds in the 1890’s : poverty among workers and the risks of social unrest that were looming. Malot paints a picture of the situation and in order to confront it urges readers to display humanity in a paternalistic way

Full textIn 1970 paternal power has been transformed in parental authority and other forms of family, like the recomposed family, have appeared. Since that time, the notions of authority and of the family continued to evolve. That several questions arise, if there is a correlation between the evolution of both concepts. What is the finality of the parental authority today and how can it be achieved in the cercle of the recomposed family ? The articulation between the parental authority and the recomposed family often shows conflicts bteween the dissolubility of the conjugality and the indissolubility of the parenthood. The separated conjugal couple remains a parental couple beyond their separation and their new conjugal union. This thesis attempts to prove that parents continue to play their role, as well as the stepparents play theirs within the recomposed family. In this context, we distinguish the "educational authority" and the "domestic authority", as well as "parental authority" and "stepparental authority". Two main factors appears itself to be determining in relation to the best possible exercise of the parental authority within the recomposed family. The separated parents have to assimilate their union's failure and to accept the new conjugality and parenthood of each. The frequency and the quality of the relation between the separated parents and their children and also between the parents and the stepparents have to be maintained. If these two factors are united, our research shows that a real understanding is possible between the parents and the stepparents on the functions and the roles of each concerning the education of the children of a former conjugal union

Full textThis study starts with a general survey of the mongos'origins and their migrations. The mongos, descended from their ancestor mbombiyanda, emigrated from the north to the south, along the valley of the Nile, and came out into Zaïre across the region known as high-Zaïre. After bloody battles, they occupied the lands where they now live and which cover about one-fifth of Zaïre. As for the lands of the nkundos of mbandaka and of the ntomb'e malokos, they can be estimated at about one-thirtieth of the mongo domain. In the second part, the social and political structures of the mongos are explained. Both structures are based on kin. The political aspect is based more particularly on the authority of the nsomi family. After the upbringing has been defined, its various agents are set out. Besides the important role played by the mother and her relatives, these agents are above all the relatives on the paternal side. As for the means of this upbringing, the stress is laid especially on their rites. In the elements of their upbringing, the following points are studied : society (as seen before), language, jobs, time, counting, habits and customs, manners, morals standards, ancestral wisdom and spiritual inheritance. The third part shows how this educational system is nowadays experiencing a cultural and social crisis, through the loss of the authority of the clan, and a parental crisis through the introduction of new cultural elements such as : schools, new religions. . . The fourth part, once the survival of the traditional upbringing has been demonstrated, leads naturally to the general conclusion of this study

Full textThis research is about the relation between a daughter-in-law and her husband's parents. Four main lines trace this investigation : a painting of this kind of relationship with indicators which are classical in the sociology of the family, a description of the processes of integration in the husband's family, an analysis of what is at stake in this relation : first with the husband, then with the parents. The relation with the parents-in-law sets up an important part of the conjugal life. It's included in the main discussions between husbands and wives, and it takes part in the processes of conjugal integration (E. Durkheim). But it also means a double risk for the spouses: the risk that parents-in-law encroach on the spouses' territory (E. Goffman) and the husband has been torn between his wife and his parents and prefers do nothing rather than fight against encroachments. The other hand, this study shows that filial tie intervenes in this relation. Wedding sets a woman in a new configuration of family. Affinity isn't represent a simple additional tie. There’s a reconstruction : daughter's identity has changed. The new and the previous bonds are jointed each other

But also, on one hand the influence of this activity on social relations. And the influence exerted by societal changes on family farming, on the other hand. Adding to this, the new challenges it must free; such as: the new legal framework, the land issue, water management, pluriactivity, polyculture, migratory flows and their impact on peasant communities. The Jijel area will be our ground for this study. This field we know well, thanks to the work that we carried out during our graduation studies. The importance of family farming in the region has attracted our attention, through the existence of different vegetable crops, arboriculture, olive growing, beekeeping and various livestock farms. The problem of disorientation of local rural areas in recent years driven by several factors will also take an important place in our work

Full textThis doctoral dissertation in North American studies aims to study the evolutions of the family between 1969 and 2005 and their impact on societies in the United States, Canada and Quebec. From the 1970s onwards, the disappearance of the traditional postwar family gave way to the liberalization of sexual and family behaviors and to a new distribution of sex roles, leading to a diversification of family structures in North America. Three defining features must be taken into account, in order to identify the distinctive cultural and structural characteristics of the United States, Canada and Quebec: how these evolutions have been integrated into sociodemographic behaviors, how public opinion has accepted them, in its attitudes and representations, and how governments have taken them into account. The divergent treatment of the family issue in these three societies reveals deeper ideological fractures, a conclusion which goes against the theory of an ideological standardization of North America. The central role religion plays in the United States entails a moral positioning of public opinion and political leaders with regards to the family, whereas Canadians and Quebeckers have a more social – and thus a more liberal – perception. Freed from the influence of the Roman Catholic Church since the Quiet Revolution, Quebec has played a leading role in Canada’s family progressivism; nevertheless, the distinctiveness of the rest of Canada, compared to American social conservatism, cannot be overshadowed

Full textIn the era of globalization, it is important to reflect on the realities that make this globalization possible. In the study of the social facts, the body becomes one of the foundations of socialization in societies referred to as traditional, but also in the modern societies. The traditional wedding of Bantu is one of the social practices of the body that, even today, resists the models imposed inside and outside of this culture. We are asking ourselves constantly about the reasons of this resistance. To understand, we have privileged the participating observation of the all ceremonial path, giving rise to this reality by the Kongo people of Angola, through an incursion in the history and his culture. We have also taken the option of interviews in a spirit of discovering and to have an open mind. Without closing the door to the new world and in consonance to the social evolution, the body resistance of the traditional wedding in Kongo is characterized as a crossbred body. Our interaction has been guided by the following words: body, wedding, resistance, family, society, state, church, identity, relationship and crossbreeding

Full textFamily-owned companies contribute the largest share to our economy. Yet, there is still no legal definition of what a family-owned company is and the topic has not drawn a lot of interest from legal academics. This study aims at differentiating family-owned companies by focusing more specifically on companies listed on a financial market. Family-owned listed company combines two worlds, family and financial market, which are based on diametrically opposed values and modus operandi. This conflict helps us to understand the specific features of these companies, as well as the risks attached to them. Taking the example of the chaebol, the Korean family-owned conglomerates, we highlighted the impact of the family control on the management and the governance of these groups. We compared French and Korean companies and legal frameworks, drawing the conclusion that the French legal system might have been a better fit to the Korean environment than American rules. Our research also underlines the relative failure of the transplant of U.S. standards in South Korea, which can be explained by the theory of path dependence

Full textRenewing traditional approaches to court studies, this Ph. D. Proposes to study the court of Tuscany, not from the point of view of the Prince, but from that of the courtiers. The thesis focuses on the group of the Gentlemen of the Privy Chamber, who are studied thanks to an approach that combines both prosopography and biography. Thus the Ph. D. Strives to grasp the precise role and attributions of these courtiers as well as their relationships with court institutions. The idea is to find out whether to a title corresponds one type of individual. In the process, the characteristics traditionally associated to courtiers, such as their involvement in set social networks or in court life, are systematically re-examined. To a sociological reading of the court inspired by Norbert Elias, is therefore substituted a historical one that studies courtiers in the specific context of the negotiated relationships linking the Medici and their subjects

Full textA criminalogy approach makes it possible to highlight decisive factors of the delinquency process (ou the criminal process). Some analysts aims to prove the importance of familial context on juvenile delinquency although these explanations seems insufficient. Family is the primary socialisation instance and familial background with deviant behaviors and defaulting authority could thus have an impact on juvenile delinquency. One can observe however that children sometimes do not reproduce the family scheme and are socially integrated. Consequently, a multi-factors analysis of delinquency points up the importance of other contextual factors, among them the external agents to the family encounters, in explaining the first acts of delinquency. Influence of factors as education and peer group imply the questioning of the familial background considered as a key factor of juvenile delinquency. If verified, these analysis remain nonetheless an incomplete explanation, while raising the question of the causal relationship between juvenile delinquency and the workings of Western society

Full textThis work initially aims at the role and image of Zahra / Ahmed, who represents the bucolic Moroccan woman in the novel The Sacred Night by Tahar Ben Jelloun who struggles to find her lost female identity. For this, we used Greimas’s scheme at the beginning of our analysis because it helped us to show the role and the dramatic situation of Zahra / Ahmed in the story. We also deepened our work by analysing the family environment of Zahra and its relations, the liberation of the body, the religious aspect, obedience in order to confirm the tragedy of rural women in Morocco. Finally, our work ends with a study of the status of women in a traditional society in which man establishes his power over woman.

Full textThis work analyzes the states of the family and their reports to the individual in two François Mauriac’s novels, Vioer’s tangle and Thérèse Desqueyroux as well as in the Trilogy of Naguib Mahfouz: Palace walk, Palace of desire and Sugar street.Through these two romantic universes, which approach the theme of the family on very particular circumstances, connected to the geography, in history and in the sociology of period, this work wishes to answer the following questions: what is the state of the family in these novels? What is the place granted to the individual? Families described in these novels favor the emergence of the individual as autonomous subject, capable of making personal choices even if it means that they are in countercurrent of the values. So the first part will analyze the state of the family in the trilogy of Mahfouz; as for second it will approach both novels of Mauriac. The third part will develop the comparison between both romantic universes by crossing and by confronting the factors which interfere in both family universes: the religion, the money and the heritage and the politics (at Mahfouz especially)

Full textSince 'Ecclesia in Africa', the concept of the Church as Family of God has been identified as the African concept for the development of the Ecclesiology of communion advised by the second Vatican Council and as the key of the new evangelization in Africa. Its adoption has given rise to polemics among African priests and theologians, in particular concerning its genesis and its significance. Several biblical and theological studies have been carried out about the concept of the Church as Family of God. Their aim is mostly to confirm it as the ecclesiological concept in Africa. However it turns out that the promotion given at the continental, national and diocesan levels to the concept of the Church as Family of God is merely institutional or even conventional. To transcend a purely superficial implementation of the concept it seems necessary and urgent that primary importance be given to each local Church’s specific features, in terms of history, culture and community life, following the example of the experience of the Church in Burkina Faso, which turns out to be the founding model. The present work, which aims to be a monograph, delineates the genesis of the concept of the Church as Family of God in Burkina Faso and assesses its significance in a given field : the Roman Catholic Church in Togo. Eventually it attempts to reform the concept of the Church as Family of God with a view to sustaining a community reception of the second Vatican Council and of 'Ecclesia in Africa' in Togo

Full textThis thesis focuses on Saudi women's rights and the challenges to improve their legal and social status within the Kingdom. The analysis of the legal texts that govern women's rights from the sole official Constitution of the country - Shariah Law- reveals the need to codify laws. Women's position in the Saudi legal system is researched through the influence of Islamic Law and the international standards of human rights. A woman's rights within the household is a relevant indicator to her placement within the ranks of society. Many obstacles have long hindered women's freedom, particularly customs ans traditions as compulsory to society upbringing. Nevertheless, a new form of female power has emerged since the establishment of the Saudi Vision 2030. Moreover, the public and private sectors, including the society, have a major role to undertake in ensuring justice for women
Bouyacoub, Asma. "L'enfant, originel et original, chez Violette Leduc et Marie NDiaye." Thesis, Toulouse 2, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019TOU20112.
Full textThis study addresses several themes relating to childhood, as viewed by Violette Leduc and Marie NDiaye. There are many similarities in how these two authors perceive childhood, even though their positions in the literary landscape are quite different. In both of their works, a child's parents are either completely absent or else ever-present, and family relationships are influenced by objects of value to society such as money and appearance. This naturally leads us to consider the relationship between children and society, and how each one views the other. As social values impinge on the family, familial roles become reversed and children lose both their identity and their bearings. Nevertheless, despite attempts by parents and society to impose rules on children that restrict their freedom, we argue that childhood is constantly in a state of renewal. This manifests itself in many different ways, including the varied creatures and objects which fill a child's environment. Childhood, and its depiction within literature, is both rich and complex. As the authors write in defence of childhood, they alternate between fiction and autobiography. In doing so, they provide a perspective on childhood which is at the same time original and which takes its origins in their own respective childhoods

Full textThis thesis focuses on the representation of women in the short stories of Alonso de Castillo Solórzano. Mirroring the evolution of a genre popular in XVIIth century Spain, the short stories here under scrutiny are characterized by the extreme diversity and complexity of the female image. This study proposes to reveal the different faces of women and their new roles through an analytical approach to the text.Through the feminine perspective, we show that the author constantly favours variety, invention and admiratio. His aim is above all to entertain and charm his readers. The study of collective and individual representations of the female existence serves to underscore how much the author loves this transgressive feminine image, and to highlight the area of autonomy and expression granted to heroines, by means of a peculiar writing.Through his pen, the traditional framework governing the relations of domination and power between men and women is seen to be profoundly altered. Far from championing the feminine cause or questioning the established order, Castillo Solórzano's stories demonstrate, nevertheless, the decline in moral values and the upheaval which characterized the so-called « decadent » Spanish society of Philip IV

Full textIn 2002, the CEAlex received nearly seven thousand documents having the same origin, a Greco-Syrian-Lebanese family. These documents concern the history of Alexandria from 1882 to 1985. They are the sole source of this thesis. The thesis consists of two parts. 1) The story of two families, the Zogheb and Sinano family through four generations. Implanted in Alexandria these conquerors searched and made their fortune, encouraged by Mohammad Ali, in an Egypt which was undergoing modernization. We follow them in their daily life, their neighborhood, their habits, through certain people, places or events that illustrate through very small touches a whole structure of society of “noblemen”. These families are “noble” due to their wealth, their age or their place in the city. These different approaches, different angles, permit, little by little, to give an overview of this micro-society which today no longer exists. 2) The story of Charles Ayoub, an “Alexandrian in his century” whom we follow from childhood to death. A pupil of the Jesuits, then a law student, he joined the services of the State Litigation as a trainee, reaching the rank of Royal Councillor and Head of Litigation. After resigning from the public service, he became a city lawyer. Through his professional and family background, his environment and that of his wife’s, we follow both the decline and the end of a certain society and how Egypt met it’s own destiny. An Egyptian of French culture, belonging to high Alexandrian cosmopolitan society, how did Charles Ayoub integrate and live through the eddies of century, from the khedivial period to the monarchy, the monarchy to the Republic ?
