Abstract:
Aiming at the problems in the social governance structure level under the management mode of the Internet of Things, this paper designs a network agent based on the idea of service grid construction that has the functions of service resource configuration discovery, load balancing, and protocol conversion. Using it as a service governance infrastructure reduces the coupling between business services and service governance, and the network agent will intercept the service call traffic within the platform to achieve cross-protocol and cross-frame service communication. Through the proposed global query decomposition strategy and algorithm, a global query mapping is realized, which solves the problem of global query decomposition based on the global data model. We designed the unified management mechanism of two commonly used IoT databases based on XML. This process involves the realization of heterogeneous Internet of Things database resource configuration, data mode conversion, and global query mapping. Among them, in the process of data schema conversion, the conflict of the data in the schema mapping is resolved, the XML Schema is generated, the schema mapping metadata is established, and the XML document of the data is generated. We build a framework for optimal allocation of cloud computing resources based on load forecasting and propose an adaptive elastic control system for resource allocation based on resource status monitoring and demand forecasting. In view of the low resource utilization problem caused by the resource management mode of single virtual machine serving single user adopted by Internet of Things service providers, this paper constructs a new public cloud architecture with a five-layer structure. On the basis of this architecture, an adaptive configuration mode of virtualized resources based on a single virtual machine serving multiple users is proposed. This mode can automatically search for optimal virtualization resources for application resource requests made by different users and run different applications on the same virtual machine without affecting the quality of service, so that IoT providers can guarantee services. At the same time, it improves the utilization efficiency of IoT resources and reduces energy consumption.

Abstract:
Public online social network services have achieved dazzling success in recent years. As a result, vertical social network services for universities are expected warmly by campus users. As the majority of activities in university campus are knowledge and social interaction intensive, one of the core functions of campus social network system is to facilitate knowledge sharing on campus. In the cyberspace of universities, knowledge is stored in various kinds of digital resources such as documents, photos, videos etc. In this paper, we discuss the design and implementation of our campus social network system, concentrating on knowledge sharing mechanism in the system. The knowledge sharing mechanism has five features including the utilization of users? personal social network to facilitate the dissemination of digital resources, the use of a six-tuple model based tagging to realize the unified labeling for digital resources, the fine-grained access control based on friend lists for safer knowledge sharing, the adoption of a multiscale evaluation method for digital resources and personalized recommendation for digital resource with social graph based collaborative filtering as its core idea. With all these considerations, we expect to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of knowledge while enlarging the dissemination scope of digital resources carrying it in cyberspace of universities.

Abstract:
The key to determining the network service level of telecom operators is resource allocation for mobile phone base station maintenance (MPBSM). Given intense market competition and higher consumer requirements for network service levels, an increasing proportion of resources have been allocated to MPBSM. Maintenance costs account for the rising fraction of direct costs, and the management of MPBSM resource allocation presents special challenges to telecom operators. China Mobile is the largest telecom operator in the world. Its subsidiary, China Mobile Sichuan, is the first in China to use revenue management in improving MPBSM resource allocation. On the basis of comprehensive revenue (including both economic revenue and social revenue), the subsidiary established a classification model of its base stations. The model scientifically classifies more than 25,000 base stations according to comprehensive revenue. China Mobile Sichuan also conducted differentiation allocation of MPBSM resources on the basis of the classification results. Furthermore, it optimized the assessment system of the telecom base stations to establish an assurance system for the use of MPBSM resources. After half-year implementation, the cell availability of both VIP base stations and total base stations significantly improved. The optimization also reduced economic losses to RMB 10.134 million, and enhanced customer satisfaction with network service by 3.2%.

Abstract:
As the Internet of Things (IoT) smart mobile devices explode in complex opportunistic social networks, the amount of data in complex networks is increasing. Large amounts of data cause high latency, high energy consumption, and low-reliability issues when dealing with computationally intensive and latency-sensitive emerging mobile applications. Therefore, we propose a task-sharing strategy that comprehensively considers delay, energy consumption, and terminal reputation value (DERV) for this context. The model consists of a task-sharing decision model that integrates latency and energy consumption, and a reputation value-based model for the allocation of the computational resource game. The two submodels apply an improved particle swarm algorithm and a Lagrange multiplier, respectively. Mobile nodes in the complex social network are given the opportunity to make decisions so that they can choose to share computationally intensive, latency-sensitive computing tasks to base stations with greater computing power in the same network. At the same time, to prevent malicious competition from end nodes, the base station decides the allocation of computing resources based on a database of reputation values provided by a trusted authority. The simulation results show that the proposed strategy can meet the service requirements of low delay, low power consumption, and high reliability for emerging intelligent applications. It effectively realizes the overall optimized allocation of computation sharing resources and promotes the stable transmission of massive data in complex networks.

Abstract:
Sophisticated mobile wireless, net-connected devices are allowing people who do not know each other to cluster temporarily around information of mutual interest. Rheingold characterized the sociology of this brave new world of social medium as a world of "ad-hocracy". This paper aims to explore a force that can drive context-sensitive companionable relationships or activities in the "ad-hocracy" world of wireless ad-hoc networks and presents a contextualized micro-pricing mechanism for content services operating in the environment of wireless ad-hoc networks. This is a novel effective pricing mechanism that involves both value-based pricing and contextualized consideration of perishability (in terms of time, location, and urgency). This mechanism is the first attempt in adding the contextual element into pricing and is believed to encourage further exploration of pricing methods in the "ad-hocracy" world. The notion of contextualized micro-pricing is believed not only to improve mobile peers' willingness to furnish differentiated services but also to enhance the distribution of the service resources on the social medium of the wireless ad-hoc network environments.

Abstract:
Network function virtualization (NFV) is a new way to provide services to users in a network. Different from dedicated hardware that realizes the network functions for an IoT application, the network function of an NFV network is executed on general servers, and in order to achieve complete network functions, service function chaining (SFC) chains virtual network functions to work together to support an IoT application. In this paper, we focus on a main challenge in this domain, i.e., resource efficient provisioning for social IoT application oriented SFC requests. We propose an online SFC deployment algorithm based on the layered strategies of physical networks and an evaluation of physical network nodes, which can efficiently reduce bandwidth resource consumption (OSFCD-LSEM) and support the security and privacy of social IoT applications. The results of our simulation show that our proposed algorithm improves the bandwidth carrying rate, time efficiency, and acceptance rate by 50%, 60%, and 15%, respectively.

Abstract:
It is increasingly popular that platforms integrate various services into mobile applications due to the high usage and convenience of mobile devices, many of which demand high computational capacities and energy, such as cryptocurrency services based on blockchain. However, it is hard for mobile devices to run these services due to the limited storage and computational capacity. In this paper, the problem of computation offloading that requires sufficient computing resources with high utilization in large-scale users and multiprovider MEC system was investigated. A mechanism based on the combinatorial double auction, G-TRAP, is proposed in this paper to solve the above problem. In the mechanism, resources are provided both in the cloud and at the edge of the network. Mobile users compete for these resources to offload computing tasks by the rule that the edge-level resources will be allocated at first while cloud-level resources could be the supplement for the edge level. Given that the proof-of-work (PoW), the core issue of blockchain application, is resource-expensive to implement in mobile devices, we provide resource allocation service to users of blockchain application as experimental subjects. Simulation results show that the proposed mechanism for serving large-scale users in a short execution time outperforms two existing algorithms in terms of social utility and resource utilization. Consequently, our proposed system can effectively solve the intensive computation offloading problem of mobile blockchain applications.

Abstract:
Knowledge acquired by end users through their social networks facilitates optimal use of a newly implemented enterprise system. Existing research has conceptualized end users as being the only actors within such networks. Knowledge ties between actors have been treated as unidimensional. The actor-network theory emphasizes the role of all actors in influencing networking outcomes; hence, this study proposes an expanded multimodal social network that includes four institutionally mandated knowledge actors: the technology champions, the help desk, the service desk, and the shared inbox. Knowledge ties are treated as bidimensional through incorporating both technical and business process knowledge. Data collected from an enterprise resource planning system implementation validated this approach; end users sourced knowledge from other end users and the institutionally mandated network actors based on contextual requirements. End user performance outcomes were significantly associated with knowledge source and knowledge dimension.

Abstract:
Considerable research has recently focused on integrating cyber-physical systems in a social context. However, several challenges remain concerning appropriate methodologies, frameworks and techniques for supporting socio-cyber-physical collaboration. Existing systems do not recognize how cyber-physical resources can be socially connected so that they interact in collaborative decision-making like humans. Furthermore, the lack of semantic representations for heterogeneous cyber-social-collaborative networks limits integration, interoperability and knowledge discovery from their underlying data sources. Semantic Web ontology models can help to overcome this limitation by semantically describing and interconnecting cyber-physical objects and human participants in a social space. This research addresses the establishment of both cyber-physical and human relationships and their interactions within a social-collaborative network. We discuss how nonhuman resources can be represented as socially connected nodes and utilized by software agents. A software agent-centric Semantic Social-Collaborative Network (SSCN) is then presented that provides functionality to represent and manage cyber-physical resources in a social network. It is supported by an extended ontology model for semantically describing human and nonhuman resources and their social interactions. A software agent has been implemented to perform some actions on behalf of the nonhuman resources to achieve cyber-physical collaboration. It is demonstrated within a real-world decision support system, GRiST (www.egrist.org), used by mental-health services in the UK.

Abstract:
With the increasing popularity and significance of content delivery services, especially video streaming, stringent Quality of Service (QoS) requirements have been placed upon Internet content providers (CPs). As a result, CPs have strong incentives to pay for resources such as premium peering bandwidth and cache capacity that ameliorate service quality. In this paper, we study an Internet access market with multiple access resources that CPs can purchase to enhance service quality. We build a detailed content delivery model, through which we characterize the traffic throughput and the resulting utilities of CPs and social welfare. We show that a market equilibrium exists for a multi-resource market, at which the optimization problems for individual utilities and social welfare coincide. Furthermore, we characterize the optimal purchasing strategies of CPs as well as how varying parameters are going to change the market equilibrium via sensitivity analysis.

Abstract:
Location publication in check-in services of geo-social networks raises serious privacy concerns due to rich sources of background information. This article proposes a novel destination prediction approach Destination Prediction specially for the check-in service of geo-social networks, which not only addresses the “data sparsity problem” faced by common destination prediction approaches, but also takes advantages of the commonly available background information from geo-social networks and other public resources, such as social structure, road network, and speed limits. Further considering the Destination Prediction–based attack model, we present a location privacy protection method Check-in Deletion and framework Destination Prediction + Check-in Deletion to help check-in users detect potential location privacy leakage and retain confidential locational information against destination inference attacks without sacrificing the real-time check-in precision and user experience. A new data preprocessing method is designed to construct a reasonable complete check-in subset from the worldwide check-in data set of a real-world geo-social network without loss of generality and validity of the evaluation. Experimental results show the great prediction ability of Destination Prediction approach, the effective protection capability of Check-in Deletion method against destination inference attacks, and high running efficiency of the Destination Prediction + Check-in Deletion framework.

Abstract:
Purpose – Recent smart mobile devices are capable of letting users produce various digital content, and share/upload the content to many social network services (SNS) directly via wireless network connections. The phenomenon has increased the number of people using mobile SNS applications. Although the applications have become more popular, mobile users have been restricted in the virtual communities of online SNS and are not aware of the social opportunities available to them in real-time surrounding. While they spend most of their time accessing online SNS, they have missed many opportunities to interact with others for new friendships, business opportunities or information sharing. Consequently, a new breed of mobile social network (MSN) system has arisen to assist mobile users to interact with proximal people and perform various social activities. Such a proximal-based MSN environment is termed a Mobile Social Network in Proximity (MSNP). Design/methodology/approach – Developing an MSNP system needs to address a number of issues and challenges, such as heterogeneity, content/service discovery, privacy and trust, resource management, and so on. This paper identifies and describes these challenges, and reviews a number of related solutions from existing literature. In the follow up, this paper addresses a number of open challenges in the MSNP domain. Findings – Although various works have been proposed to enable and overcome challenges in MSNP, there are still many unsolved open challenges in terms of identification, content management, social-aware discovery, trust in public environment, adaptation, quality of service and the development of MSNP. We have addressed these challenges in this paper as future research directions in the MSNP domain. Originality/value – This paper provides an original literature review in MSNP and identifies a number of open challenges as research direction in the MSNP domain.

Abstract:
The rapid advancements in web and availability of growing number of free social networking tools have greatly influenced the present day communication mechanisms. These tools have provided cheaper, instant and faster methods of communicating information irrespective of geographical and time barriers. Users especially the younger generation is much familiar with the use of such tools and modern libraries are experiencing rapid changes in user perceptions and information seeking patterns. Owing to the ease of accessibility of plethora of information resources via cell phones, tablets using smart apps, libraries are revisiting their methods of information delivery. Many libraries are using social networking tools for handling user queries and advertising their library products especially in Virtual Reference Services (VRS). Virtual reference is reference service initiated electronically where patrons employ computers or other technology to communicate with public services staff without being physically present. Communication channels used frequently in virtual reference include chat, video-conferencing, voice-over-IP, co-browsing, e-mail, and instant messaging (Reference and User Services Association [RUSA] Guidelines, 2010). It primarily refers to a network of expertise, intermediation and resources placed at the disposal of someone seeking answers in an online environment (Berube, 2003). It has brought about tremendous change in the concept of reference services in terms of information dissemination and user satisfaction. Various initiatives have already been taken to develop standards, guidelines and procedures for setting up successful digital reference systems. Virtual reference has emerged as a new powerful method of delivering reference and information service to a vast number of clientele distributed globally. It includes seamless access to global resources and the collection of knowledge for reference access, coupled with complementary access to information on the internet. It has brought about tremendous change in the concept of reference services in terms of information dissemination and user satisfaction. The seamless influence of Social Networking tools on virtual reference is quite evident and trend is fast shifting towards incorporating such tools in libraries at global level. These tools not only solve the problems of communicating in real time environment in all modes ranging from instant messaging to audio/visuals but also provide ample opportunities for libraries to retain their users. The present work thus discusses the concept of Virtual Reference Service and possible use of different Social Networking tools in present day Virtual Reference Systems for successfully addressing user queries.

Abstract:
The existing online social network (OSN) services in a multiple-cloud (Multicloud) environment use replications to store user data for improving the service performance. However, it not only generates tremendous traffic for synchronization between data but also stores considerable redundant data, thus causing large storage costs. In addition, it does not provide dynamic load balancing considering the resource status of each cloud. As a result, it cannot cope with the degradation of performance caused by the resource contention. We introduce an adaptive data placement algorithm without the replications for improving the performance of the OSN services in the Multicloud environment. Our approach is designed to avoid server overhead using data balancing technique, which locates data from a cloud to another according to the amount of traffic. To provide acceptable latency delay, it also considers the relationship between users and the distance between user and cloud when transferring data. To validate our approach, we experimented with actual users’ locations and times of use collected from OSN services. Our findings indicate that this approach can reduce the resource contention by an average of more than 59%, reduce storage volume to at least 50%, and maintain the latency delay under 50 ms.

Abstract:
The smart phone industries evolution had made the growth in wireless communication. The increase in social media usage led to huge increase of network traffic as sharing of data for multimedia like video conferencing, and voice over internet protocol (VoIP). Majority of services like this requires network resources and real-time strict quality of service (QoS). However high cost of network deployment is included. All the major service providers are currently being adopted to the WiMAX 802.16 network. Therefore, the worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) network must have different supply policies and QoS for various applications. The implementation of these QoS policies was not provided by WiMAX for various needs of application. Recently development of various scheduling mechanism for QoS provisioning has been made. However, users improper synchronization made these models inefficient. To address this, uplink scheduling with feedback is considered to provision QoS. However, it induces delay in accessing slots, as result the bandwidth is wasted. To utilize bandwidth efficiently evolutionary computing is adopted by various existing model. However, these models induce computation overhead and may not be suitable for provisioning real-time services. The evolutionary computing model is used to compute ideal threshold.

With the rapid advancement of information technology, artificial intelligence and machine learning have become the central technology tools for information sharing. To speed up the efficiency of information resource transmission of national government departments and improve the informatization level of government social management and public service systems, the persona system is designed using an artificial neural network, and a social service and management resource pool system is developed. The behavior data randomly generated by users in daily life is collected and cleaned, and training samples are extracted for training an artificial neural network. Next, the demographic attribute tags and interest tags are modelled, and the social service and management resource pool system is built and tested. Results show that for the population attribute label construction, the index value using the app name is mapped to 0 or 1, and the sample sampling ratio is set to 1.0. The proposed model achieved the overall accuracies of 85.2%, 74.5%, and 99.0% for the prediction of constructed age, academic qualifications, and interest label, respectively. The constructed system greatly deepens the visualization of the characteristics of social governance elements. The system can enhance the level of resource sharing by government departments and provide the foundation for spatial decision-making in smart social governance.

Abstract:
With the advent of the Internet of Things era, these hot technologies such as distributed, parallel computing, network storage, and load balancing can provide a good application foundation for the Internet of Things, enabling real-time dynamic management and intelligent analysis of hundreds of millions of items in the Internet of Things to be possible. The Internet of Things has changed from a concept to a reality, quickly reaching every corner of society. On the other hand, with the enhancement of the mobility of social talents, the file management of the talent service center is becoming more and more difficult. However, the traditional management methods of human resources files have problems such as poor resource sharing, asymmetric resources, and heterogeneous information sharing, which can no longer meet the needs of both the supply and demand sides of human resources with diversified and multiple organizational structures. Cloud computing technology has powerful data collection functions, self-service functions, and unified resource scheduling functions. Introducing it into the human resources file management system can greatly improve management efficiency. In order to carry out information management of rural human resources, this paper develops a rural human resources management system based on the Internet of Things. This paper introduces the design scheme of rural human resource management platform based on Internet of Things technology and cloud computing technology. The design of this system mainly includes organization setting, post planning, personnel management, salary management, insurance benefits, recruitment and selection, training management, performance appraisal management, labor contract management, comprehensive inquiry, rules and regulations, employee self-help, system setting, and system management function modules. The research results show that the rural human resource management system based on cloud computing can provide a complete human resource management solution for the vast rural areas. The increasingly severe situation with respect to the elderly population is an important social problem that China will face for a long time into the future. It is urgent to solve the problem of how to scientifically carry out allocation planning of service resources for the aged and guide the effective supply of service resources. This paper analyzes the factors affecting service resources for the aged, divides China’s service resource supply and demand system into a supply subsystem, a demand subsystem, and a population and economy subsystem. Using system dynamics methods to analyze the causal relationship between variables and the state space method to build a mathematical model and perform simulation analysis, we research the the current situation of China’s service resources supply and demand balance for the aged. In addition, we put forward resource configuration optimization measures for the future allocation of service resources for the aged, providing a practical basis for future decision-making.

Abstract:
With the continuous development of society, social work is gradually professionalized, and relevant service fields are also growing. However, the limited resources of social work activities and the different needs of service projects are also more prominent. The intelligent management concept can assist social work services, thus providing fresh vitality for the field. How to effectively apply this vitality to the actual work process and form a unique intelligent management mode of social work service has always been the core issue of the sustainable development of social work specialization. Intelligent social work management is a new development trend. Based on this background, in this paper, a class of the intelligent social work management system is designed. The core technology of this system is an improved genetic algorithm. The system design is generally divided into four modules, and each module has different functions, including user-level acquisition module, intermediate acquisition module, load balancing module, and platform-level data storage and analysis module. Through the design and test, after the design simulation experiment test, it can be known that the system can effectively complete the design objectives, solve practical application problems, reasonably complete the work tasks, and meet the needs of users. In addition, the application of the system can improve the efficiency and management of social work services. Finally, this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the problems existing in the field of actual social work management and proposes corresponding solutions on this basis. In this study, an improved genetic algorithm is combined with social work management, and an effective intelligent management system is designed to realize work assistance.

Abstract:
Many precise personalized learning recommendations in massive open online courses (MOOCs) have emerged in the intelligence education field. Up to now, most researches simply put the dual learner-resources relations into consideration and are short of studies looking deep into its intrinsic social relation, thus rarely introducing the influential factors such as social trust, which means to apply the mutual trust relation between learners in the precise personalized learning recommendation. Therefore, we propose a personalized learning recommendation method based on learners’ trust and conduct a quantitative analysis on two aspects: social trust and influence, so as to realize a precise personalized learning recommendation service. First, we establish a new module on social trust scale which integrates the interactive information and preference degree to reveal the implicit trust relation between learners in social networks and construct social trust networks. Next, we adopt improved structural hole (ISH) algorithm by integrating the topological structure of social trust network with learners’ interactive information and identify the most influential learners cluster by the ISH algorithm. For the final stage, we predict the score of target learners based on explicit and implicit feedback information and realize the personalized learning recommendation for new learners. Since the score is predicted, we compare MAE and RMSE in two real-world datasets which are Canvas Network and Wanke website, respectively. The result of experiment validates the accuracy and effectiveness of our recommendation model.

Abstract:
The rapid increase in the proportion of the elderly population in China has increased the demand for aged services. It is a huge challenge for the Chinese government to establish the aged service system to meet such a large demand in a short time. In its 14th Five-Year Development plan, to promote a more rational allocation of health services, the Chinese government plans to build a health service system for the elderly. Based on the aged service resource allocation model established in the previous research, this paper proposes optimization measures and improves the model. The second-order matrix sensitivity analysis is performed on 30 parameters in the improved model, and the influence law of parameters on the whole system under a different amplitude of variation is explored. The results show that the disability rate of the elderly population, the service capacity of aged service institutions, per capita disposable income, and other factors have a great impact on the balance between the supply and demand of aged service resources. Therefore, when formulating policies related to the allocation of aged service resources, we can focus on improving the health level of the elderly, increasing the investment of social funds in aged service, and improving people’s consumption levels, so as to further improve the aged service system.

Abstract:
With advancements in smart mobile devices and their capabilities, location-based services have gained utmost importance, as its individual and social benefits are enormous. Users of location-based services have a concern to the security issues posed by its usage as the location service providers track the users' interests, behavior, and identity information. Most of the location-based services are launched from mobile phones that have stringent resources; hence incorporating encryption schemes becomes tedious, and further, dual identity attacks uncover the encrypted message. A fog-assisted privacy protection scheme for location-based service (FPriLBS) employs a semi-trusted third party as a fog server to eliminate redundant queries submitted to the location service provider in addition to the trusted helper selection scheme which hides the real identity of the user from the fog server. The experimental results show that the proposed FPriLBS outperforms the existing schemes in terms of processing time and processing cost.

Abstract:
The question of whether each building of housing estate has equal access to nearby social service resources (e.g., public transportation service, catering, entertainment, etc.) is a major concern of citizens. This paper takes Wuhan as a case to explore the equality in social service resource sharing of the housing estate at a microscopic level by analyzing the accessibility of each building under different travel patterns. To estimate the accessibility of each building, we developed a novel model with multi-travel modes and residential suitability evaluation of residents. The specific values of the parameters involved in the proposed model were extracted from the multi-source spatial data such as social media data, census data, point of interest, and road network data. These data were acquired from multiple platforms, e.g., Gaode map, OSM (OpenStreetMap), and GeoQ. We chose three types of districts in the city of Wuhan, including the old central district, new central district, and suburban district. We applied the proposed model to assess the accessibility of communities in these districts. Based on the results, we further analyzed whether and to what extent the distribution of each building in urban communities is equitable for social service resource sharing in China.

Abstract:
The use of libraries’modern cloud technologies in information and communication activity is analyzed. It is considered the problems of cloud technologies implementation in libraries documentation and information circulation. of Advantages and disadvantages of cloud service’simplementation are revealed. Authors outlined transition prospects in the future to the cloud network and cloud technologies’use in library activity. Cloud service providers allow us to lease computing power and disk space online. Clouds are physically located in data centers - buildings that house powerful computers that are connected by a single network. Such unified computers also contain the virtual servers that are required for cloud services to work. It has been found that for libraries as social institutions that are unable to acquire and administer their own data warehouses, the use of cloud technologies is a unique opportunity to improve their work. The use of cloud technology in libraries helps to save money on acquiring a fleet of computers and licensed software. Book collections are successfully stored in large amounts on "clouds", which significantly unloads the work of local library networks, an automated library information system and its own server. Cloud services include those that are used to learn how to work with web services and standard documents. In particular, the Microsoft 365 cloud platform provides the opportunity to practice known office applications through a web browser. It includes e-mail and calendars, standard Office applications. Security is achieved through One Drive backup and two-factor authentication with face or fingerprint recognition or PIN to further protect files. Given the complexity of using security tools in cloud repositories, digital literacy plays an important role in effective communication for library users and their employees. It is resoluted that cloud services giveto library staff additional opportunities for organizing management activities. This includes, in particular, multimedia web resource services use (photo services - Picasa, Panoramio; video services – Youtubevideo, geoservices - Google maps; workflow - Slideshare, Google Docs, SkyDrive, etc.), which are free to usefor any user so we can freelystore and use image, audio and video resources. These systems can be used in management practice not only as a source of accumulation of multimedia educational web resources, but also as a system of storing library video, photo and audio archives, as well as improving the processes of information service for readers in libraries.

Abstract:
Increase in technologies around the world requires adding intelligence to the objects, and making it a smart object in an environment leads to the Social Internet of Things (SIoT). These social objects are uniquely identifiable, transferable and share information from user-to-objects and objects-to objects through interactions in a smart environment such as smart homes, smart cities and many more applications. SIoT faces certain challenges such as handling of heterogeneous objects, selection of generated data in objects, missing values in data. Therefore, the discovery and communication of meaningful patterns in data are more important for every application. Thus, the analysis of data is essential in smarter decisions and qualifies performance of data for various applications. In a smart environment, social networks of intelligent objects are increasing services and decreasing the relationship in a reliable and efficient way of sharing resources and services. Hence, this work proposed the feature selection method based on proposed semantic rules and established the relationships to classify the services using relationship artificial neural networks (R-ANN). R-ANN is an inversely proportional relationship to the objects based on certain rules and conditions between the objects to objects and users to objects. It provides the service oriented knowledge model to make decisions in the proposed R-ANN model that produces service to the users. The proposed R-ANN provides an accuracy of 89.62% for various services namely weather, air quality, parking, light status, and people presence respectively in the SIoT environment compared to the existing model.

Abstract:
The Social Internet of Things (SIoT) can be seen as integrating the social networking concept into the Internet of Things (IoT). Such networks enable different devices to form social relationships among themselves depending on pre-programmed rules and the preferences of their owners. When SIoT devices encounter one another on the spur of the moment, they seek out each other’s assistance. The connectivity of such smart objects reveals new horizons for innovative applications empowering objects with cognizance. This enables smart objects to socialize with each other based on mutual interests and social aspects. Trust building in social networks has provided a new perspective for providing services to providers based on relationships like human ones. However, the connected IoT nodes in the community may show a lack of interest in forwarding packets in the network communication to save their resources, such as battery, energy, bandwidth, and memory. This act of selfishness can highly degrade the performance of the network. To enhance the cooperation among nodes in the network a novel technique is needed to improve the performance of the network. In this article, we address the issue of the selfishness of the nodes through the formation of a credible community based on honesty. A social process is used to form communities and select heads in these communities. The selected community heads having social attributes prove effective in determining the social behavior of the nodes as honest or selfish. Unlike other schemes, the dishonest nodes are isolated in a separate domain, and they are given several chances to rejoin the community after increasing their honesty levels. The proposed social technique was simulated using MATLAB and compared with existing schemes to show its effectiveness. Our proposed technique outperforms the existing techniques in terms of throughput, overhead, packet delivery ratio (PDR), and packet-delivery latency.

Abstract:
Aim/Purpose: This study seeks to investigate if participation in business association’s programs through the traditional and new media platforms influences family businesses in South Eastern Nigeria to diversify into similar or different businesses. Background: Before the advances in information and communication technology, businesses were carried on via the traditional media. The application of these advances has changed the way business communications and transactions are conducted globally in both family and non-family businesses. Businesses are adapting to today’s turbulent environment by opening similar or different businesses in the same or different locations that are hinged on the traditional and new media platforms. Nigerians are largely involved in social network through the traditional (face-to-face contact) and new media (e.g., Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram). Moreover, in spite of the commonplaceness of family businesses in Nigeria, these businesses still experience weak diversification, bankruptcy and loss of socio-emotional wealth. Consequent upon the foregoing, this paper specifically investigates if involvement in social network via the traditional media (i.e., participation in business association’s meetings, workshops, seminars) and the new media (i.e., participation in the business association’s interactive sessions on trending business issues through the association’s online social platform like WhatsApp, Twitter), influence family businesses in South Eastern Nigeria to diversify into similar or different businesses. Methodology: The study adopted a qualitative methodology. The qualitative data were generated via interview involving 30 purposively selected businesses from South Eastern Nigeria. This comprises 15 family businesses each that have respectively adopted related and unrelated diversification strategies. Two respondents (i.e., the business owner and a top level manager) each were drawn from the selected businesses. In all, 60 respondents were interviewed. Since the unit of analysis is the family business, the interview transcriptions from all the respondents were subjected to thematic content analysis on the basis of the family businesses. Contribution: Active involvement and participation in all the meetings, discussions, workshops and seminars of the social network via the traditional and new media platforms facilitates the adoption of related or unrelated diversification in family businesses. Moreover, the adoption of similar social network platforms like WhatsApp and Twitter in all the relationships among and between employees and managers, and the transactions of the businesses is one of the key factors for achieving successful related or unrelated diversification in family businesses. Findings: In spite of the risky nature of the business environment, the adoption of related diversification strategies is significantly influenced by resources such as business consultancy services garnered through the traditional and new media platforms of the social network. Also, family businesses that are actively involved in a social network where the actors interact through the traditional and new media are influenced by the resources acquired to consider adopting unrelated diversification. These resources include: better understanding of the nature of business challenges, environments and experiences; and different lines of businesses. Thus, the traditional and new media platforms are complementary in their roles. Recommendations for Practitioners: Family business owner-managers could use the findings to develop related or unrelated strategies for diversifying into existing or new markets. This can be through the localization of manufacturing plant, improvement of product packaging, sitting of sales outlet closer to the consumers, introduction of lower prices for products/services, introduction of new and better ways of service delivery, or development of more compelling promotion strategies. Recommendation for Researchers: As a veritable guide, this study could guide future researchers in the formulation of their objectives, selection of instrument for data collection and respondents, and adoption of method of data analysis. Impact on Society: Successful diversification suggests the establishment of new or more businesses. Consequently, these new or more family businesses are expected to translate to more employment opportunities and by extension reduction in unemployment and poverty rates in the society. Future Research: Further studies should be carried out to enhance the development of family businesses, contribute to the existing literature and ensure the generalization of the findings.

Presented is developing of an algorithm for using information and computer technologies in the research work of the psychological service of universities in order to quickly respond and resolve the occurrence of conflict, psychological and other unstable situations between interacting internal and external audiences of the university. The relevance of the issue is emphasized by the author's research and the low efficiency of the psychological service with students and teachers of the university, which was revealed on the basis of numerous surveys of all test groups during 2020–2021. The study was conducted using a Google questionnaire, a representative sample — general contacts in social networks and messengers, as well as direct mail. The Google-form automatically summarized and structured the survey results after receiving the responses. The results are used to identify the key vector of constructing the algorithm of the psychological service of the Don State Technical University with the intensification of the use and deep penetration of information and computer technologies in this process. It is confirmed that the surveys of students and teachers of the university with the help of internal network resources or printed questionnaires, currently conducted by universities — are not the whole algorithm of those technologies that are available and acceptable for providing timely and professional psychological support to all representatives of the university conglomerate. The results of the study were discussed collectively at the Don State University and other universities in Rostov-on-Don online, on the platform “Boiling Point” in May 2021.

Abstract:
Mobile healthcare social networks (MHSN) integrated with connected medical sensors and cloud-based health data storage provide preventive and curative health services in smart cities. The fusion of social data together with real-time health data facilitates a novel paradigm of healthcare big data analysis. However, the collaboration of healthcare and social network service providers may pose a series of security and privacy issues. In this paper, we propose a secure health and social data sharing and collaboration scheme in MHSN. To preserve the data privacy, we realize secure and fine-grained health data and social data sharing with attribute-based encryption and identity-based broadcast encryption techniques, respectively, which allows patients to share their private personal data securely. In order to achieve enhanced data collaboration, we allow the healthcare analyzers to access both the reencrypted health data and the social data with authorization from the data owner based on proxy reencryption. Specifically, most of the health data encryption and decryption computations are outsourced from resource-constrained mobile devices to a health cloud, and the decryption of the healthcare analyzer incurs a low cost. The security and performance analysis results show the security and efficiency of our scheme.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between social capital and the performance of Farmers' Cooperatives (Cooperatives) and explore the internal mechanism of social capital affecting the performance of Cooperatives. This work selects two dimensions: cognitive social capital (CSC) and structural social capital (SSC), as indexes to measure the social capital of Cooperatives. An analytical framework is proposed: “Social capital-Dynamic capabilities-Organizational performance.” First, according to the characteristics of Cooperatives, it determines the most appropriate index values and preprocesses the original data. Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) and Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS) 25.0 software are used for factor analysis. A financial performance evaluation model of Cooperatives based on backpropagation neural network (BPNN) is constructed. Then, based on the survey data of 212 Cooperatives in Liaoning Province, the structural equation model (SEM) is used to test the interaction path between “Social capital-Dynamic capacity-Organizational performance.” The results show that SSC's standardized regression coefficients (SRCs) on Cooperatives' economic benefits and member satisfaction are 0.208 and 0.095, respectively, significant at 1%. The actual case analysis concludes that the larger the scale of the structural network embedded in Cooperatives is, the more conducive it is to obtaining extensive resources. As such, Cooperatives can absorb the advanced experience and compensate for the weakness of lack of internal resources and experience. The SRC of CSC on Cooperatives' economic benefits is 0.336, and the P value is 0.204, indicating an insignificant impact of CSC on Cooperatives' economic benefits. This work considers environmental variability, uses dynamic capacity as an independent variable, opens the “black box” between social capital and the performance of Cooperatives, and reveals the intermediate path between the two.

However, when compared with other developing countries, small- and medium-scale organizations in China face many restrictions considering size and contributions. Few organizations are still facing a challenge because of the difficulties and lesser quality and also with lack of human resources. The prime objective of this study is to identify the current scenario of human resources for small- and medium-scale organizations, the factors affecting it, and the steps that can be effective in overcoming these challenges. In this study, human resource data is analyzed and managed using deep learning. The functionalities of human resources are realized by the deep learning approach, and further, business volume is reduced for enhancing the efficiency of human resources. The forecasting model is proposed and tested in human resource data by implementing a gradient descent process. Additionally, a deep neural network is implemented to enhance the accuracy of the proposed model. Experimental analysis is conducted by considering several neurons at the hidden layer, iteration count, and different types of decent gradient processes. The training accuracy and validation accuracy of the proposed model by implementing a deep neural network are observed as 95.67% and 94.53%. The experimental observations reveal the potential and significance of the proposed model.

Abstract:
Cognitive radio–based vehicular ad hoc networks can solve the problem of limited spectrum resource and growing vehicular communication service demands in intelligent transportation systems, and thus, it receives much concern recently. In cognitive radio–based vehicular ad hoc networks, the high mobility of vehicles and the dynamic spectrum activity of cognitive radio make routing in such networks a great challenge. Some routing researches have been proposed in cognitive radio–based vehicular ad hoc networks with single-objective optimization and neglecting the nodes’ social behaviors which can improve the network performance. From this perspective, we propose a social-aware routing scheme for cognitive radio–based vehicular ad hoc networks, with the purpose of increasing the packet delivery ratio and decreasing the overhead ratio. First, we analyze the social centrality of primary users to offer an accuracy spectrum hole measurement. Moreover, we develop a social community partition algorithm to divide secondary users into intra-community and inter-community groups. Furthermore, considering the tradeoff between the packet delivery ratio and the overhead ratio, we adopt different replication policies and forwarding ranks in different community communication processes. In the intra-community communication process, we employ the single-copy policy and the contact duration rank. In the inter-community communication process, we utilize the optimized-binary-tree replication policy and the bridge coefficient rank. Simulation results show that our social-aware routing scheme achieves the higher package delivery ratio and the lower overhead ratio when compared with the existing cognitive radio–based vehicular ad hoc networks routing schemes and other standard routing schemes.

Abstract:
This paper explores the potential of distributed emulation networks to support research and pedagogy into historical and sociotechnical aspects of software. Emulation is a type of virtualization that re-creates the conditions for a piece of legacy software to operate on a modern system. The paper first offers a review of Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Science and Technology Studies (STS) literature engaging with software as historical and sociotechnical artifacts, and with emulation as a vehicle of scholarly inquiry. It then documents the novel use of software emulations as a pedagogical resource and research tool for legacy software systems analysis. This is accomplished through the integration of the Emulation as a Service Infrastructure (EaaSI) distributed emulation network into a university-level course focusing on computer-aided design (CAD). The paper offers a detailed case study of a pedagogical experience oriented to incorporate emulations into software research and learning. It shows how emulations allow for close, user-centered analyses of software systems that highlight both their historical evolution and core interaction concepts, and how they shape the work practices of their users.

Abstract:
PurposeWith the rapid development of digital humanities, some digital humanities platforms have been successfully developed to support digital humanities research for humanists. However, most of them have still not provided a friendly digital reading environment and practicable social network analysis tool to support humanists on interpreting texts and exploring characters’ social network relationships. Moreover, the advancement of digitization technologies for the retrieval and use of Chinese ancient books is arising an unprecedented challenge and opportunity. For these reasons, this paper aims to present a Chinese ancient books digital humanities research platform (CABDHRP) to support historical China studies. In addition to providing digital archives, digital reading, basic search and advanced search functions for Chinese ancient books, this platform still provides two novel functions that can more effectively support digital humanities research, including an automatic text annotation system (ATAS) for interpreting texts and a character social network relationship map tool (CSNRMT) for exploring characters’ social network relationships.Design/methodology/approachThis study adopted DSpace, an open-source institutional repository system, to serve as a digital archives system for archiving scanned images, metadata, and full texts to develop the CABDHRP for supporting digital humanities (DH) research. Moreover, the ATAS developed in the CABDHRP used the Node.js framework to implement the system’s front- and back-end services, as well as application programming interfaces (APIs) provided by different databases, such as China Biographical Database (CBDB) and TGAZ, used to retrieve the useful linked data (LD) sources for interpreting ancient texts. Also, Neo4j which is an open-source graph database management system was used to implement the CSNRMT of the CABDHRP. Finally, JavaScript and jQuery were applied to develop a monitoring program embedded in the CABDHRP to record the use processes from humanists based on xAPI (experience API). To understand the research participants’ perception when interpreting the historical texts and characters’ social network relationships with the support of ATAS and CSNRMT, semi-structured interviews with 21 research participants were conducted.FindingsAn ATAS embedded in the reading interface of CABDHRP can collect resources from different databases through LD for automatically annotating ancient texts to support digital humanities research. It allows the humanists to refer to resources from diverse databases when interpreting ancient texts, as well as provides a friendly text annotation reader for humanists to interpret ancient text through reading. Additionally, the CSNRMT provided by the CABDHRP can semi-automatically identify characters’ names based on Chinese word segmentation technology and humanists’ support to confirm and analyze characters’ social network relationships from Chinese ancient books based on visualizing characters’ social networks as a knowledge graph. The CABDHRP not only can stimulate humanists to explore new viewpoints in a humanistic research, but also can promote the public to emerge the learning interest and awareness of Chinese ancient books.Originality/valueThis study proposed a novel CABDHRP that provides the advanced features, including the automatic word segmentation of Chinese text, automatic Chinese text annotation, semi-automatic character social network analysis and user behavior analysis, that are different from other existed digital humanities platforms. Currently, there is no this kind of digital humanities platform developed for humanists to support digital humanities research.

Abstract:
Governments are in the process of transformation from old to new public management, and now E-Government, where online services are delivered to customers using information and communication technologies. Governments that evaluate customer satisfaction using Likert scales often face the challenge of translating findings into strategic actions. This paper introduces a novel ROI vs. ROR matrix analysis, a strategic action tool, to assess customer satisfaction in using E-Filing service in Malaysia. This paper will explore the concept of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in E-Government, especially the business benefits realisations, tangible in the form of return on investment (ROI, e.g., cost savings) and intangible in the form of return on relationship (ROR, e.g., provide prompt services and helpful responses to customer requests). The development of the ROI vs. ROR matrix is discussed and followed by a demonstration of the usefulness of this matrix to classify customer experiences into four satisfaction quadrants. The research findings are then translated into strategic actions. This research allows the government service provider to identify strategic focus areas that need attention and allocation of resources. Since the main objective of CRM in E-Government is to improve customer satisfaction, the introduction of this ROI vs ROR matrix is timely to help government service provider to learn about their needs and motivations in using E-Government services.
