Abstract:
This article conducts a linguistic and cultural analysis of proverbial expressions, we tried to identify the specifics of linguistic verbalization of the linguistic and cultural concept of “dreams (while sleeping) / сон (Russian) / түш (Kyrgyz)” in the Russian and Kyrgyz linguistic proverbial space. Abstract:
The objective of this study is to examine acculturation of Islamic Law and Local culture in the Marriage Customs of the Buol People: This study examined two problems. First, how is the process of acculturation? Second, what acculturation occurs between Islamic law and local culture in the marriage customs of the Buol people?. This study used qualitative method with an empirical sociological legal research analysis approach. Data was gathered through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and participant observation, and physical equipment. The results of the study show that the process of acculturation occurs through power or politics, through trade, education, or da'wah and the arts, as well as through marriage and migration. Acculturation also occurs at every stage of the implementation of marriage customs among the Buol people, including through Mongolyokap, Molyako nikah or marraige proposal, Motanduan moposakis or determination and witnesses, Mopake bolre or decorating the bride's house, Mogundud nikah or delivering the requested property, Moponika or reading of Ijab Qabul (Islamic marriage contract), Monobvuwunggag or invalidating wudhu, Mongoliayondigi, Mopoalyom/Mogolya mongaano or wedding reception, Mosalyamat or small post-wedding party, and Mogolya mopolyong or sleeping at the groom's house. The forms of acculturation are substitution or addition of cultural elements, syncretism or an amalgamation of cultural factors, addition or combination of cultural elements, and deculturation or replacement of cultural aspects.

Abstract:
With the purpose of studying data on spontaneous customary changes in diabetic rats, we induced diabetes in 28 Wistar rats with streptozotocin. The animals were observed for 27 weeks in an attempt to characterize spontaneous customary changes that could suggest signs of chronic pain. Morphine, as a central-acting potent analgesic and its specific antagonist naloxone, were used. Our results evidenced in the animals a clinical syndrome similar to human diabetes. Long-term customary analysis revealed a significant (p<0.05) increase of scratching and resting/sleeping behaviors, but diminished motor, eating and grooming customs. Moreover, the thermal tests revealed hyperalgesia in 43% of the animals, what may corroborate the meaning of scratching as a sign of pain. Pharmacological tests with morphine showed a significant (p<0.05) inhibition of scratch, with concomitant increase of motor and eating activities and diminished rest/sleep capacity. Naloxone antagonized the effects induced by morphine. Such results suggest that these animals exhibit evoked behavior of hyperalgesia and that scratch may possibly be a spontaneous manifestation of chronic pain also in Wistar rats with this experimental model of painful diabetic neuropathy.

Abstract:
IntroductionSocial rituals refer to routine and expected social activities that are practiced in all communities in a culturally recognized manner (e.g., social greetings, eating customs, attention to dress, sleeping rituals etc.). Persistent departures from or disregard of these social rituals may be an early or prodromal sign of the onset of mental illness.Objectives(1) To develop and evaluate psychometric properties of a measure of social rituals entitled, Social Rituals Schedule (SRS); (2) to evaluate the reliability and cross-cultural applicability of this measure.MethodsThe SRS was administered to 30 psychiatric patients and their nominated relative/friend. The cross-cultural evaluations were conducted using focus groups of Ethiopian (n = 30), Australian Indigenous (n = 100), Iranian (n = 22), and Indian (n = 50) participants.ResultsThe SRS demonstrated moderate to high inter-rater reliability and patient-informant concordance. The social ritual domains were found to be valid, well understood and applicable across the sampled cultures [1].ConclusionsThe concept of social rituals and the SRS instrument were demonstrated to be feasible, reliable and cross-culturally applicable tools for measuring changes in people's appearance and behavior that might be indicative of emerging mental illness.Disclosure of interestThe authors have not supplied their declaration of competing interest.

Abstract:
Background: Sleep disorders were reported among 15−35% of adolescents and adults’ population. Around 27% of college students potentially experience at least one sleep disorder. Poor sleep quality is one of the negative impacts of sleep disorders. Sleep hygiene or good sleeping habits are essential to get good sleep quality. Balinese culture has its own rules on sleeping habits related to sleep hygiene. Good knowledge and practices of Balinese culture sleep hygiene modification are expected to improve sleep quality. Methods: The study design of this research is cross sectional descriptive observational study using total sampling as the sampling method, which included all Health Faculty students at Hindu Indonesia University who met the inclusion criteria. Data was collected through a survey by distributing offline questionnaires from April to May 2023. The questionnaires used in this research modified Sleep Beliefs Scale (SBS) and Sleep Hygiene Index (SHI) questionnaires by adding sleep hygiene perspectives according to Balinese culture and customs. Validity and reliability tests were applied to the questionnaires before the survey (Pearson Correlation shows sig. < 0.05 and reliability analysis showed Cronbach Alpha > 0.60). Data collected in this research were analyzed using crosstab tabulation. Results: Thirty-one students of the Health Faculty at Hindu Indonesia University met the inclusion criteria (20 females and 11 males aged 19 to 57 years). The result of this study regarding the knowledge and practices of Balinese culture sleep hygiene modification shows 16 students (51.6%) had both adequate knowledge and practices, 4 students (12.9%) had adequate knowledge but poor practices, 2 students (6.5%) had poor knowledge but good practices, and 9 students (29%) had both poor knowledge and practices. Conclusion: Most of the Health Faculty students at Hindu Indonesia University had adequate knowledge and practices of Balinese culture sleep hygiene modification. Additionally, several students had adequate knowledge but poor practices and several students had poor knowledge but good practices, which indicates that adequate knowledge about Balinese culture sleep hygiene modification does not guarantee good practices. Abstract:
As a global threat, the COVID-19 pandemic has been an important factor in increasing death rate worldwide. As the virus spreads across international borders, it causes severe illness, death, and disruptions in our daily lives. Death and dying rituals and customs aid bereaved people in overcoming their grief. In this sense, the purpose of this study was to access thoughts and feelings of Portuguese adults and the impact of the loss in daily life during COVID-19. A structured online questionnaire was applied (snowball sampling) and qualitative data on death and mourning namely the impact of the loss in daily life, was collected. One hundred and sixty-six individuals have lost someone since the beginning of the pandemic and were included. Analysis was inspired by Braun and Clark’s content analysis. Most participants were female (66.9%), the median age was of 37.3 years, and 70.5% had a high education degree. Moreover, 30.7% of the participants present anxiety symptoms and 10.2% depression symptoms. The answers of studied participants gave insights on the extent of the loss in day-to-day life and four thematic themes were found: (1) The perceived inadequacy of the funeral rituality, (2) Sadness, fear and loneliness, (3) Changes in sleeping and concentration and increased levels of anxiety and (4) Concerns regarding the pandemic situation. We found a high prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms in the study sample. Also, the changes in post mortem procedures, have shown to be of great importance in the mourning procedure of the participants.

Abstract:
First in Russian the collection “Tale of Tales” by the Neapolitan writer Giambattista Basile (1566–72?–1632) was published in 2016. Most people know plots fragments of the collection from the tales of Brothers Grimm, Carlo Gozzi, Charles Pierrot and A.S. Pushkin. Inspired by the book the movie “Tale of Tales” was shot in 2015, it was directed by Matteo Garrone and got the Italian national film award “Davide di Donatello”. There are some selected plots of these tales; we indicate who actually is “the little animal” (and the Puss in Boots), what mythological background the figures of the Swan Princess, the Dead Princess have. We also consider the Dead Princess’s relation to different world roving plots, including “The Sleeping Beauty” by P.I. Tchaikovsky. We present analogies in rites and customs of the Russian (as well as Ukrainian) folk tales, a pantheon of gods from different peoples, Old Testament. The meaning of the names we establish along with the alchemical formula of A.S. Pushkin, of N.V. Gogol’s Viy and Basile’s Mother of Time; there is also the characterization of N.V. Gogol by P.V. Annenkov (1813–1887). We show the trans-alphabetic coincidence of the meaning of multilingual words, of the calendar names with the mythologic gods’ names related to the different planets. We also present the A.N. Afanasyev’s analysis of one Basile’s fairy tales from in the “Poetic views on nature of the Slavs”, and there are given some thoughts of V.Y. Propp (1895–1970) on the identified topics along with a brief assessment on the oeuvres of A.S. Pushkin given by the renowned specialist in literature P.V. Palievsky (1932–2019).

Abstract:
Sleep is a major factor for human physical and mental health and abnormality in a person's sleep, this can cause sleep disturbances. The emergence of sleep disturbances makes sufferers try various sleep aids that might help sufferers to rest well. In Indonesia, many sleeping products have been created and sold in the market. The large variety of sleeping products with various functions and ways of use is a determining factor in adolescence buying sleeping products. They have several considerations before buying the sleeping products they need and want and it is because nowadays, customers have a lot of choices and considerations when they are choosing products and services. Therefore, it is necessary to understand consumer preferences because they play an important role in making purchasing decisions and in improving the marketing strategy to be implemented. For this research, researchers want to identify the important factors that influence the customers’ purchase decision towards sleeping products and find out the product attributes which become preferred by customers. The researcher uses quantitative methods by using questionnaires as primary data and a variety of literature as secondary data. This research uses non-probability sampling and requires a minimum of 200 respondents with criteria aged 17-26 years old and living in Jabodetabek and Bandung. Using Multiple Linear Regression methods, this research aims to identify the relationship between one dependent variable from five independent variables and answer the hypothesis. The overall evidence showed that product, social, personal value dimensions, sales promotion, and social media marketing have a significant positive impact on purchase decisions. Therefore, researchers suggest marketers in the sleeping product industry convey product advantages and personal values, use influencers to promote products or make price discounts and use social media to attract customers because these points influence purchasing decisions.

Baddock, Sally Anne, and n/a. "Bedsharing vs cot-sleeping : an investigation of the physiology and behaviour of infants in the home setting." University of Otago. Dunedin School of Medicine, 2005. http://adt.otago.ac.nz./public/adt-NZDU20070205.113411.

Full text
Abstract:
Bedsharing between infants and parents interacts with many factors to increase the risk of SIDS, eg maternal smoking, alcohol or drug consumption, overtiredness, excessive bedding and younger infant. However, bedsharing also encourages breastfeeding, settles babies, reduces parental tiredness and increases mother-baby interactions. We studied infants in the natural setting of their own home, in their usual situation (bedsharing or cot-sleeping) to identify risks and benefits, and to understand how bedsharing could be made safer for all infants. Methods: Overnight home video and physiological recordings of 40 bedshare infants (5-27 weeks), were compared with 40 cot infants matched for age and study season. Video data provided a log of infant/parent sleep positions, movements and interactions. The physiological recordings measured respiratory pattern, respiratory airflow, inspired CO2, oxygen saturation (SaO2), heart rate and core, peripheral and environmental temperatures. Results: All infants maintained normal core temperatures overnight although bedshare infants had a higher shin temperature [35.43 vs 34.60°C at 2hrs after sleep onset (difference 0.83, 95% CI: 0.18 to 1.49)]. Bedshare infants had thicker bedding (RR:2.35 (95% CI:1.76 to 3.14) and more face covered time [0.9h/night vs 0.2 (RR:5.62, 95% CI: 3.08 to 10.25)]. Awakenings in the bedshare group were more common, of shorter duration, and caused less change in infant temperatures. Exposure to >3% CO2 occurred in 18 bedshare infants and 1 swaddled, cot-sleep infant. The maximum exposure time was the same for both groups (60mins). These levels of CO2 significantly (p<0.05) elevated breathing rate and maintained normal SaO2. Central apnoeas of 5-10 seconds resulted in drops in SaO2 <90% (BS mean 6.8/night vs cot: 3.1, p<0.001). SaO2 rarely fell below 85% and heart rate did not ever fall below 90bpm. Bedshare infants commonly slept on their side, while cot infants slept supine. Prone sleeping was rare (BS:5 infants, 1.6-3.5h/night vs cot:2, 8.9-10.2) and for bedshare infants involved sleeping on mothers chest. Bedshare infants woke and fed more frequently (mean wake times/night: 4.6 vs 2.5), but total sleep time was not different. Maternal checks were more frequent in the bedshare group (median:10, IQ range:7-23, max:55) than cot ( 4, 3-6, 16) and bedshare mothers frequently responded to infant initiated movements. During bedsharing baby and mother usually slept facing each other, touching, with infants at mothers breast level. Father (or sibling) contact was rare. Conclusions: Bedshare infants sleep in a warmer environment and experience more potentially dangerous events such as head-covering and rebreathing. However, all infants in this study maintained normal rectal temperature and SaO2 suggesting they were protected by homeostatic responses. Infant safety is also facilitated by frequent maternal checking and maternal responses to infant movements. The mother-infant proximity during bedsharing allows prompt responses, reduces time infants are upset, and minimises disruption from frequent breast feeding - aspects valued by many. It is not known if infants of smoking mothers or parents with impaired responses eg due to alcohol, respond adequately to the potentially dangerous situations identified. Outcome: The results of this study will be used to formulate recommendations to parents for improving the safety of bedsharing.

Objectives: It is an important stage for growing and learning in childhood. And sleeping quality affect the development of this period. The purpose of this study is to understand the sleeping quality of school-age children. Further more is to explore the relationship between personal factors, learning pressure, life customs and sleeping quality. Methods: The subject consisted of 383 elementary school students in the fifth & sixth grade in Taipei who had been selected by Survey sampling methods. The data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed with descriptive and inference statistics by SPSS/Windows 12.0 software. Results: 1. Subjective sleeping quality in choosing bad and very bad is 18.8%. 77.6% of the cases fall asleep in 30 minutes. The average number of sleeping hours in the night is 9 hours/day(8.45 hours in school days and 9.56 hours in holidays). A large amount of 93.9% had been having sleep disturbance. 2. The relationship between perceived health status and sleeping quality was significant: the poorer perceived health status, the worse their personal subjective sleeping quality and fewer sleep hours, with more sleep problems and sleep disturbance, as well as the worse daytime function. 3. In the part of learning pressure, the one who feel more pressure, the worse their subjective sleeping quality and daytime functions, and the more problems they have in night time sleeping, whether the pressure is from individuals, teachers, parents or peers. The greater the peer pressure, the fewer sleeping time in the night. 4. Life customs and sleeping quality was significantly correlated: the more regular in daytime activities, the better their sleeping quality. The less frequency of nap who have, the longer their sleep latency. There will be more problems of sleeping when they sleep in the evening, turn on the lights to sleep or have more activities before sleep. The more who with intake of containing caffeine drink, the more sleep problems and sleep disturbance, and the worse their daytime function. The more their relaxing behavior and ceremony conduct before sleep, the better their subjective sleeping quality. 5. The worse their subjective sleeping quality, the longer sleeping latency, with more sleeping problems and the worse their daytime function. But there were no significant differences in daytime functions that causes from the number of sleep time. 6.Mutiple regression indicated that personal factors, learning pressure, life customs, subjective sleeping quality, sleep latency, the number of sleep time at night, sleep problems can explain 50.5% of the total variance of daytime functions. Recommendations: According to the results, this study suggests that parents pay more attentions to the sleeping quality of their children. Schools should provide sleep- health-related courses to strengthen the teachers’ knowledge in order to detect children with poor daytime functions and take counsel or reference if needed. In students’ health education courses, teach children to know the importance of sleep and good life customs. In parenting education, help family to enhance their children maintain good sleeping hygiene, regularly life customs, healthy lifestyle and develop stress management skills for the benefit of sleeping quality.

Abstract:
“Citi never sleeps” is the famous signature claim of Citi bank. But their claim was made a mockery in a high profile branch in India where several depositors and high-net worth individuals were duped in a fraud to the tune of Rs 460.91 crore, engineered by their Global Wealth Manager Shivraj Puri who was working at Gurgaon branch of the bank. Corporate houses like the Hero group and 20-odd people invested in schemes which were sold to them by showing them a forged letter of the market regulator, Sebi. The clients were offered super normal returns and were lured by the Relationship Manager who enjoys a special relationship of trust and confidence with the clients. The clients were cheated understandably for their lack of understanding of the nuances of the product. But the greater issue at stake was the onerous practices of Wealth Management by banks in India and the lack of regulatory control in this fast developing area that allowed the incident to happen in the first place.

Abstract:
Abstract Jesus came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples followed him. When he reached the place, he said to them, "Pray that you may not come into the time of trial." Then he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, knelt down, and prayed, "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me; yet, not my will but yours be done." [Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength. In his anguish he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.] When he got up from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping because of grief, and he said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not come into the time of trial."

Abstract:
With accelerated technologies, different kinds of health technology devices have been provided to customers that continuously record bio and vital signals. Some of these products are wearable that can be used all day long and during sleeping time. Due to the wearability feature and continuous recording, a vast amount of data can be achieved and analyzed. The recorded data are usually shared with a cloud to implement comprehensive analysis methods where deep and machine learning algorithms play the main role. Finally, they can assess some health factors of the customer and most likely predict future health risks. This chapter shall review the role of the clinical scanners and their valuable data in risk detection, more portable modalities, home-used commercial devices, and emerging techniques which are so potent for future home-used health risks analysis. In the end, we conclude the state-of-the-art and provide our vision about the future of health risk analysis.

Abstract The following morning at ten, Nazar, coming into my room, informed me that Colonel Goloflf was dressing, and that breakfast would soon be ready. On asking for a basin, I was informed that it was not the custom to wash in the sleeping apartment, but that a regular room was set aside for this purpose. I was then taken into a sort of scullery, with a sink and large copper utensil. In the last-mentioned article was a supply of water. This, on pulling a string attached to a plug in the vessel, streamed out from an aperture in the side.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper describes a method to use data-mined customer reviews to identify potential product defects. The process involves locating negative reviews of a specific product and then extracting comments that have potential connections with the product design. The extracted comments are then categorized and correlated with features of the product. Given that the customer comments are generally not specifically tied to engineering requirements, or even posed in engineering terms, this correlation requires some degree of engineering analysis to establish a correlation. After these complaint-feature correlations are established, then engineering tests directed at understanding the possible defects are performed. This data-mining process effectively harnesses the massive amount of in-situ testing and evaluation that is performed by customers of the product. The process is illustrated via a case study of an infant bassinet. Customer reviews of the product were studied to identify and categorize key complaints about the bassinet. These complaints were correlated with features and potential defects in the product, including assembly difficulties, as well as a sleeping surface that tilts and causes infants to roll and press into the mesh side wall while sleeping. Then, assembly and sleeping surface deflection tests were conducted. The sleeping surface deflection tests include measurements of how bassinet leg separation affects the deflection, as well as long-duration progressive deflection that occurs from repeated use of the product. The results of the engineering testing confirm the presence of defects in the bassinet and its assembly instructions, as suggested by the reviews. This case study illustrates how data-mined customer reviews provide a valuable source of engineering data and indications of product defects.

Abstract:
There are many apps that let you control hardwares with the application of the internet-of-thing today, however, I have seen none that lets you customly control the hardwares, most likely you can only use the few controls the developer of the hardware gives you, and there are very few auto control options. This paper designs an application to auto control the hardwares into desired state based on personal status detected [1]. We use a smart watch to detect the heart beat of the user and determine if they are asleep, and once they are asleep, we turn off a light switch in the user's room to create a total darkness environment. Much research done on sleeping quality shows that sleeping in total darkness gives much better sleeping quality, while many, out of fear or sleeping disorders, still leave little lights on when sleeping [3]. This software helps to give these people better sleeping quality with ease [2].

Abstract:
Abstract. Proper nutrition, physical activity, positive interpersonal relations, sleeping, and resting promote health and well-being. A varied and well-balanced diet is one of the fundamental factors influencing human mental and physical balance. Diet catering services involve providing customers with individualized sets of meals chosen based on their preferences and needs. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the importance of the diet catering sector during the COVID-19 pandemic, whose activities were not limited by government restrictions, and the impact of ordering a healthy boxed diet on eating together of all family members. The empirical study included customers of diet catering enterprises. Individual in-depth interview was used as a quantitative research technique. The analysis of the empirical study proved the extremely different behavior of the respondents, who had completely different views on the basic issues related to the measures that limit social and economic life. They often had no knowledge of the current pandemic and often performed a variety of mutually exclusive actions.

Abstract:
Abstract The improper use of artificial light causing skyglow is detrimental to many types of wildlife and can potentially cause irregular human sleeping patterns. Studies have been performed to analyze light pollution on a global scale. However, light pollution data on a local scale is not of ten available and the effects at local scale have rarely been studied. Herein, a new custom-designed autonomous light assessment drone (ALAD) is described for evaluating light pollution at local scale. The ALAD is designed and equipped with a sky quality meter (SQM) to measure skyglow and a low-cost illuminance sensor to measure light from artificial sources. Outdoor field tests are performed at a remote site in central Utah and the measured results are validated against data from lightpollution-map.info. The SQM measurements are in agreement with the estimates from the light pollution map, and the initial results demonstrate feasibility of the ALAD for local-scale skyglow assessment.
