Abstract Plasmids that contain Saccharomyces cerevisiae TG1-3 telomere repeat sequences (TRS plasmids) segregate efficiently during mitosis. Mutations in histone H4 reduce the efficiency of TRS-mediated plasmid segregation, suggesting that chromatin structure is involved in this process. Sir2, Sir3 and Sir4 are required for the transcriptional repression of genes located at the silent mating type loci (HML and HMR) and at telomeres (telomere position effect) and are also involved in the segregation of TRS plasmids, indicating that TRS-mediated plasmid segregation involves factors that act at chromosomal telomeres. TRS plasmid segregation differes from the segregation of plasmids carrying the HMR E silencing region: HMR E plasmid segregation function is completely dependent upon Sir2, Sir3 and Sir4, involves Sir1 and is not influenced by mutations in RAP 1 that eliminate TRS plasmid segregation. Mutations in SIR1, SIN1, TOP1, TEL1 and TEL2 do not influence TRS plasmid segregation. Unlike transcriptional repression at telomeres, TRS plasmids retain partial segregation function in sir2, sir3, sir4, nat1 and ard1 mutant strains. Thus it is likely that TRS plasmid segregation involves additional factors that are not involved in telomere position effect.

Siri’ bagi masyarakat Bugis-Makassar dapat dimaknai sebagai harga diri, makanya suku Bugis-Makassar sangat menjunjung tinggi siri’. Seringkali siri’ digandengkan dengan kata siri’ na pesse (Bahasa Bugis) atau siri’ na pacce (Bahasa Makassar), yang berarti penegakan rasa malu (harga diri) dan kokoh pendirian. Pesse atau pacce sebagai landasan solidaritas pada individu masyarakat Bugis-Makassar dengan menunjuk empat prinsip yakni; (1) getting/tantang artinya tegas, (2) lempu’ artinya lurus dalam hal ini jujur, (3) acca artinya pintar, (4) warani artinya berani. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan melakukan studi literatur yang relevan. Kemudian melakukan observasi di daerah Bone dan Makassar. Selanjutnya melakukan wawancara dengan tokoh masyarakat, akademisi dan budayawan dari Suku Bugis-Makassar. Tidak terbantahkan, jika siri’ semakin dibayang-bayangi prilaku yang berbanding terbalik yaitu prilaku mappaka siri’-siri’, (memalukan). Penegakan budaya siri’ dibutuhkan konsistensi dengan memegang teguh siri’. Namun prilaku mappaka siri’-siri’, juga seakan menjadi perbuatan yang dibiarkan dan dibenarkan.

Abstract:
Purpose. We explored the prognostic influence of the systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) on the survival outcomes of stage IIIB/C non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients who underwent concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Methods. Present propensity score-matching (PSM) analysis comprised 876 stage IIIB/C NSCLC patients who received 1–3 cycles of platinum-based doublets concurrent with thoracic radiotherapy from 2007 to 2017. The primary and secondary objectives were the relationships between the SIRI values and overall (OS) and progression-free survival, respectively. Propensity scores were calculated for SIRI groups to adjust for confounders and to facilitate well-balanced comparability between the SIRI groups by creating 1 : 1 matched study groups. Results. The receiver operating characteristic curve analysis identified an optimal SIRI cutoff at 1.9 for OS (AUC: 78.8%; sensitivity: 73.7%; specificity: 70.7%) and PFS (AUC: 80.5%; sensitivity: 75.8%; specificity: 72.9%) and we grouped the patients into two PSM cohorts: SIRI < 1.9 (N = 304) and SIRI ≥ 1.9 (N = 304), respectively. The SIRI ≥ 1.9 cohort had significantly worse median OS ( P < 0.001 ) and PFS ( P < 0.001 ) than their SIRI < 1.9 companions. The further combination of SIRI with disease stage exhibited that the SIRI-1 (IIIB and SIRI < 1.9) and SIRI-3 (IIIC and SIRI ≥ 1.9) cohorts had the best and worst outcomes, respectively, with SIRI-2 cohort (IIIB and SIRI ≥ 1.9 or IIIC and SIRI < 1.9) being remained in between ( P < 0.001 for OS and PFS, separately). In multivariate analysis, the two- and three-laddered stratifications per the 1.9 cutoffs and SIRI groups retained their independent significance, individually. Conclusions. The SIRI ≥ 1.9 independently prognosticated significantly worse OS and PFS results and plated the stage IIIB/C patients into three fundamentally distinct prognostic groups.

e15537 Background: The SIRI, defined by neutrophil x monocyte/lymphocyte 109/L, has recently emerged as a prognostic factor for pancreatic cancer. However, the association between SIRI values after chemotherapy and tumor response has not been evaluated. Methods: 161 metastatic pancreatic cancer patients were retrospectively analyzed. Associations between overall survival (OS), chemotherapy and SIRI were analyzed. A larger number of patients with pre-treatment SIRI (pre-SIRI) were collected so, post-treatment SIRI (post-SIRI) evaluated after three cycles of chemotherapy, was adjusted for analysis. Results: Median age 66 years. 59 (36%) received gemcitabine + nab-paclitaxel, 40 (24%) gemcitabine, 22 (17%) mFOLFIRINOX, 13 (7%) other regimens. 27 (16%) had not received treatment. Pre-SIRI≥2.3×109/L was an independent, negative predictor of OS compared to pre-SIRI < 2.3×109/L [5 versus 16 months, Hazard Ratio (HR) 2.87, Confidence Interval (CI) 95% 2.02-4.07, P< 0.0001]. In the whole cohort, we observed SIRI values increased after treatment (median pre-SIRI: 1.6×109/L; post-SIRI: 2.3×109/L; P= 0.007). Thus, we analyzed the association between tumor response measured by RECIST and pre-SIRI and post- SIRI values. Patients with progressive disease (PD) showed a higher pre-SIRI than those who had a response to chemotherapy (2.7×109/L versus 1.2×109/L, respectively; P< 0.001). We also observed a statistically significant increase in post-SIRI values for PD compared to tumor response (3.2×109/L versus 1.7×109/L, respectively; P= 0.012). As observed for pre-SIRI, post-SIRI ≥2.3×109/L showed a shorter OS compared to post-SIRI < 2.3×109/L (8 versus 17 months, respectively; P= 0.016). Furthermore, patients with pre-SIRI ≥2.3×109/L were more likely to benefit from mFOLFIRINOX showing a median OS of 17 months compared to 6 and 4 months for gemcitabine + nab-paclitaxel and gemcitabine, respectively ( P< 0.001). Conversely, there was no difference for pre-SIRI < 2.3×109/L: 15.9 months versus 16.5 and 16, respectively. Conclusions: SIRI≥2.3×109/L was a prognostic factor for metastatic pancreatic cancer. An elevated post-SIRI showed an association with disease progression and a negative impact on survival. Therefore, an increase in SIRI could be related to high tumor burden and be useful to appropriately select patients who would benefit of a more intensive first-line chemotherapy regimen.

ABSTRACT Budding yeast silent chromatin, or heterochromatin, is composed of histones and the Sir2, Sir3, and Sir4 proteins. Their assembly into silent chromatin is believed to require the deacetylation of histones by the NAD-dependent deacetylase Sir2 and the subsequent interaction of Sir3 and Sir4 with these hypoacetylated regions of chromatin. Here we explore the role of interactions among the Sir proteins in the assembly of the SIR complex and the formation of silent chromatin. We show that significant fractions of Sir2, Sir3, and Sir4 are associated together in a stable complex. When the assembly of Sir3 into this complex is disrupted by a specific mutation on the surface of the C-terminal coiled-coil domain of Sir4, Sir3 is no longer recruited to chromatin and silencing is disrupted. Because in sir4 mutant cells the association of Sir3 with chromatin is greatly reduced despite the partial Sir2-dependent deacetylation of histones near silencers, we conclude that histone deacetylation is not sufficient for the full recruitment of silencing proteins to chromatin and that Sir-Sir interactions are essential for the assembly of heterochromatin.

Aims. Predicting the prognosis of gastric cancer using tumour-node-metastasis (TNM) staging is difficult as patients with the same TNM stage exhibit different prognoses. Methods. This study investigated the prognostic value of the preoperative fibrinogen/albumin ratio (FAR)-systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) score in resectable gastric cancer (rGC). Results. Clinicopathological features of 231 rGC patients were analysed retrospectively. Patients were divided into three groups: FAR-SIRI score 2 (FAR≥0.071 and SIRI≥0.84), 1 (FAR<0.071 and SIRI≥0.84), and 0 (SIRI<0.84). Higher FAR-SIRI scores were associated with larger tumours, poorer differentiation, and advanced TNM stage (P<0.05). Compared to those with FAR-SIRI scores of 0, patients with scores of 2 had poorer overall survival (OS). The FAR-SIRI score was an independent prognostic factor for OS in rGC. Conclusion. The present data demonstrated that FAR-SIRI scores predicted radical gastric cancer surgical outcomes and may serve as a blood marker for identifying high-risk patients.

Background. Recent studies have indicated that the systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) can efficiently predict survival outcomes in various tumor types. Thusly, in absence of comparable investigations in limited-stage small-cell lung cancers (LS-SCLCs), we aimed to retrospectively evaluate the prognostic utility of SIRI in LS-SCLC patients treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT). Patients and Methods. Present multi-institutional retrospective analysis incorporated LS-SCLC patients treated with CRT at three academic radiation oncology centers between January 2007 and December 2018. The SIRI was calculated by using the peripheral blood neutrophil (N), monocyte (M), and lymphocyte (L) counts acquired in the last ≤7 days before the commencement of the CRT: SIRI = N × M/L. Accessibility of pretreatment SIRI cutoff that may stratify the study population into two gatherings with distinctive overall survival (OS) results was evaluated by utilizing the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Primary objective was the association between the SIRI values and the OS results. Results. Kaplan–Meier comparisons between the two SIRI groups showed that the SIRI <1.93 cohort had significantly longer median OS (40.5 versus 14.2 months; p < 0.001 ) than the SIRI ≥1.93 cohort. Similarly, the 3- (54% versus 12.6%) and 5-year (33% versus 9.9%) OS rates were also numerically superior in the SIRI <1.93 cohort. Results of the multivariate analyses uncovered that the prognostic significance of the SIRI on OS outcomes was independent of the other confounding variables. Conclusions. The results of this retrospective multi-institutional cohort analysis suggested that a pre-CRT SIRI was a strong and independent prognostic biomarker that reliably stratified LS-SCLC patients into two cohorts with significantly different OS outcomes.

ABSTRACT Previous work has shown that the N terminus of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae Sir3 protein is crucial for the function of Sir3 in transcriptional silencing. Here, we show that overexpression of N-terminal fragments of Sir3 in strains lacking the full-length protein can lead to some silencing of HML and HMR. Sir3 contains a BAH (bromo-adjacent homology) domain at its N terminus. Overexpression of this domain alone can lead to silencing as long as Sir1 is overexpressed and Sir2 and Sir4 are present. Overexpression of the closely related Orc1 BAH domain can also silence in the absence of any Sir3 protein. A previously characterized hypermorphic sir3 mutation, D205N, greatly improves silencing by the Sir3 BAH domain and allows it to bind to DNA and oligonucleosomes in vitro. A previously uncharacterized region in the Sir1 N terminus is required for silencing by both the Sir3 and Orc1 BAH domains. The structure of the Sir3 BAH domain has been determined. In the crystal, the molecule multimerizes in the form of a left-handed superhelix. This superhelix may be relevant to the function of the BAH domain of Sir3 in silencing.

Abstract:
Objectives. We endeavored to retrospectively assess the prognostic merit of pretreatment systemic immune response index (SIRI) in glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) patients who underwent postoperative partial brain radiotherapy (RT) and concurrent plus adjuvant temozolomide (TMZ), namely, the Stupp protocol. Methods. The records of 181 newly diagnosed GBM patients who received the postoperative Stupp protocol were retrospectively analyzed. The SIRI value for each eligible patient was calculated by utilizing the platelet, neutrophil, and lymphocyte measures obtained on the first day of treatment: SIRI = Neutrophils × Monocytes / Lymphocytes . The ideal cutoff values for SIRI connected with the progression-free- (PFS) and overall survival (OS) results were methodically searched through using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Primary and secondary end-points constituted the potential OS and PFS distinctions among the SIRI groups, respectively. Results. The ROC curve analysis labeled the ideal SIRI cutoffs at 1.74 (Area under the curve (AUC): 74.9%; sensitivity: 74.2%; specificity: 71.4%) and 1.78 (AUC: 73.6%; sensitivity: 73.1%; specificity: 70.8%) for PFS and OS status, individually. The SIRI cutoff of 1.78 of the OS status was chosen as the common cutoff for the stratification of the study population (Group 1: SIRI ≤ 1.78 ( N = 96 ) and SIRI > 1.78 ( N = 85 )) and further comparative PFS and OS analyses. Comparisons between the two SIRI cohorts manifested that the SIRI ≤ 1.78 cohort had altogether significantly superior median PFS (16.2 versus 6.6 months; P < 0.001 ) and OS (22.9 versus 12.2 months; P < 0.001 ) than its SIRI > 1.78 counterparts. The results of multivariate Cox regression analyses ratified the independent and significant alliance between a low SIRI and longer PFS ( P < 0.001 ) and OS ( P < 0.001 ) durations, respectively. Conclusions. Present results firmly counseled the pretreatment SIRI as a novel, sound, and independent predictor of survival outcomes in newly diagnosed GBM patients intended to undergo postoperative Stupp protocol.

Abstract:
A study was undertaken with an objective to assess productive and reproductive performance of Siri cattle in West Bengal. The study was conducted among 80 farmers rearing either Siri-Pure or Siri-Graded cattle in the hilly region. Equal numbers of respondents either rearing Siri-Pure or Siri-Graded cattle were randomly selected from Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts for the study. The study on productive performance of Siri-Pure and Siri- Graded cattle shows that mean first lactation milk yield was 469.7 and 497.2 litres, daily milk yield was 3.2 and 3.7 litres, peak milk yield was 3.8 and 4.2 litres, total lactation milk yield was 864.1 and 1035.5 litres, lactation length was 273.4 and 284.8 days and dry period was 189.3 and 167.9 days. The t-test shows highly significant difference between Siri-Pure and Siri-Graded cattle in first lactation milk yield, daily milk yield, total lactation milk yield and lactation length in productive performance whereas age at first services, calving intervals and gestation period in reproductive performance. The reproductive performance of Siri-Pure and Siri-Graded cattle shows that mean age at first services was 38.47 and 31.65 months, gestation period was 285.2 and 279.1 days, heat interval was 27.8 and 28.2 days, number of services per conception was 1.3 and 1.3 times, and calving intervals recorded as 463.7 and 452.7 days respectively. The age at first service was significantly lower in large farmers and significantly higher calving interval in small farmers rearing Siri-Pure cattle. Daily milk yield, peak milk yield and total milk yield was significantly higher in large and medium farmers than small farmer rearing Siri-Pure cattle whereas total milk yield was significantly higher in large farmers than small and medium farmers rearing Siri-Graded cattle.

Tulisan ini bermaksud mengkaji praktik nikah siri anak di bawah umur dengan menggunakan analisis maslahah mursalah. Berangkat dari fenomena maraknya kasus nikah siri yang terjadi di beberapa daerah di Indonesia, dimana bukan hanya didominasi orang dewasa, tetapi sudah melibatkan anak-anak di bawah umur sebagai pelaku utamanya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan yang dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Pauh. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung ke lapangan dengan melihat praktik nikah siri, wawancara dengan para imam pemandu nikah siri dan orangtua anak yang melakukan nikah siri di bawah umur, serta studi kepustakaan dengan mengkaji referensi terkait dengan persoalan nikah siri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik nikah siri anak di bawah umur dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu tahap pra akad nikah, tahap pelaksanaan akad nikah dan tahap pasca akad nikah, adapun faktor yang menjadi alasan nikah siri anak di bawah umur terdiri dari faktor administratif, faktor preventif, faktor refresif, faktor edukatif dan faktor finansial. Sedangkan dampak dari nikah siri anak di bawah umur menyebabkan terputusnya pendidikan, terabainya hak-hak perempuan dan tidak adanya jaminan kepastian hukum. Analisis maslahah mursalah menyimpulkan bahwa nikah siri seharusnya dihindarkan, karena mengandung mudarat bagi perempuan dan anak-anak.

Ada kepercayaan dan sugesti masyarakat Bugis, antara lain sugesti bahwa orang Bugis telah di takdirkan untuk menjadi kaya. Mereka yang mempunyai "ilmu", yang di sebut wawang asogireng (ilmu untuk menguasai harta kekayaan). Suku Bugis memiliki slogan yang di kenal sakral oleh masyarakatnya yaitu budaya siri'. Siri’ adalah salah satu budaya masyarakat Bugis yang dijunjung tinggi dan terpelihara sejak lama. Berbagai pihak mengartikan konsep ini sebagai harga diri, kehormatan, martabat, etos dan malu. Usaha untuk menegakkan Siri' itu tergantung pada faktor yang menjadi sumber Siri’ jika faktor itu berkaitan dengan ekonomi, maka siri, diekspresikan lewat kerja keras, ulet, gigih dalam berusaha agar dapat diraih keberhasilan yang sebesar-besarnya. Dari fenomena tersebut peneliti ingin mengetahui pemahaman siri’, serta siri’ tersebut dijadikan motivasi dan etos kerja para perempuan untuk meningkatkan perekonomian keluarga. Pemahaman beberapa perempuan Bugis terkait dengan paham pemahaman tentang siri’, Siri’ itu harga diri dan juga rasa malu suku bugis, jika tidak memiliki siri’ tidak dianggap dalam lingkungannya. Dan ada pergeseran makna siri' pada sebagian masyajakat itu bahkan sebagian hilang siri' dari jiwa mereka disebabkan sebagian menganggap bahwa dinilai dari harta yang dimiliki, sehingga sebagian dari masyarakat sudah tidak malu untuk melakukan perbuatan yang tidak baik demi mendapatkan harta, karena menurut sebagian masyarakat mereka masiri atau seseorang lebih dihargai jika memiliki harta. Dan siri itu dipahami akan muncul jika mereka bergaul dan mereka tidak memiliki harta apa-apa dengan sendirinya siri’ itu akan muncul. Peneliti memahami bahwa sebagian dari masyarakat memahami bahwa rasa malu itu terkait dengan harta Siri' sebagai motivasi dan etos kerja bagi perempuan bugis untuk meningkatkan ekonomi keluarga di desa lambur kecamatan muara sabak kabupaten tanjung jabung timur disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, Pertama, Faktor ekonomi dan faktor sosial

<p>Siri Marriage (unofficial marriage) is not a new phenomenon in Indonesia with its all negative impacts. However, in Warurejo village, siri marriage is accepted widely by society particularl actors and siri marriage network. Siri marriage is a legal activity based on Islam if corresponding with legal requirements of marriag. Location of the research is conducted in Warurejo village, East Java through qualitative, quantitative and semantics approaches. The result of research shows that siri marriage in Warurejo has been long standing and hereditary since Madura ethnic migrates to Warurejo. Siri marriage initially occurs among migrants, gradually changing and leading to commercialization. Warurejo people cannot predict the exact time when the commercialization of siri marriage applied in Warurejo village, but surely after commercialization occurs, there is a workplace for brokers and clerics. Economy needs sometimes cause the actors ignoring the negative impacts as a result of siri marriage, such as domestic violence, child custody, inheritance, etc. If there is a divorce, it is only delivered by brokers or short messages through mobile phone.</p><p> </p><p>Nikah siri bukanlah fenomena baru di Indonesia dengan segala dampak negatifnya. Namun, di Desa Warurejo nikah siri diterima secara luas oleh masyarakat, terutama aktor dan jaringan nikah siri. Nikah siri merupakan tindakan yang sah menurut agama Islam sepanjang sesuai syarat sahnya pernikahan. Lokasi penelitian di lakukan di desa Warurejo Jawa Timur.dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, kuantitatif dan semantik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nikah siri di Warurejo sudah berlangsung lama dan turun temurun. Sejak etnis Madura melakukan migrasi ke Warurejo. Nikah siri yang awalnya terjadi hanya sesama migran, lambat laun mengalami perubahan dan mengarah ke komersilisasi. Masyarakat Warurejo tidak bisa memperkirakan sejak kapan komersilisasi nikah siri mulai berlaku di Desa Warurejo, namun yang pasti sejak adanya komersilisasi maka sejak itu pula mulai memunculkan lahan pekerjaan baru bagi para broker dan kyai/modin. Kebutuhan terhadap ekonomi menyebabkan pelaku terkadang mengabaikan fungsi negatif yang diakibatkan oleh nikah siri, misalnya adanya kekerasan dalam rumah tangga, hak asuh anak, waris, dan lain-lain. Jika terjadi perceraian, maka perceraian itu hanya disampaikan melalui broker atau pesan pendek melalui telepon seluler.</p><p> </p>

The four SIR genes were isolated from a genomic library by complementation of sir mutations in vivo. DNA blot analysis suggests that the four SIR genes share no sequence homology. RNA blots indicate that SIR2, SIR3, and SIR4 each encode one transcript and that SIR1 encodes two transcripts. Null mutations, made by replacement of the normal genomic allele with deletion-insertion mutations created in the cloned SIR genes, have a Sir- phenotype and are viable. Using the cloned genes, we showed that SIR3 at a high copy number is able to suppress mutations of SIR4. Berdasarkan Undang-Undang Repubik Indonesia Nomor 1 Tahun 1974 tentang Perkawinan bahwa setiap perkawinan harus dicatatkan agar tercapai ketertiban dalam masyarakat. Salah satu dampak negatif yang ditimbulkan dari perkawinan siri adalah tidak adanya kekuatan hukum yang mengikat atas perkawinan tersebut, negara menganggap bahwa perkawinan siri tersebut tidak pernah ada, karena tidak adanya bukti berupa akta nikah. Perkawinan siri dapat menimbulkan beberapa masalah berkenaan dengan hak waris anak yang lahir dari perkawinan siri seperti bagaimana perlindungan hukum terhadap hak waris anak pada perkawinan siri menurut hukum negara Indonesia, bagaimana akibat hukum dari anak pada perkawinan siri terhadap pewarisan menurut hukum negara, dan bagaimana penyelesaian hukum dalam pewarisan anak pada perkawinan siri menurut hukum negara Indonesia.

Siri’ dalam novel tersebut memiliki hal dominan dalam masing-masing jenisnya untuk mengkritisi budaya Siri’ sebagai harga diri dan rasa malu masyarakat Bugis-Makassar. The Systemic Inflammation Response Index (SIRI), based on peripheral lymphocyte, neutrophil, and monocyte counts, was recently investigated as a prognostic marker for several tumors. However, use of the SIRI has not been reported for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). We evaluated the prognostic value of the SIRI in primary and validation cohorts. We also established an effective prognostic nomogram for NPC based on clinicopathological parameters and the SIRI. The predictive accuracy and discriminative ability of the nomogram were determined using the concordance index (C-index) and a calibration curve and were compared with tumor-node-metastasis classifications. Our Kaplan-Meier survival analysis results showed that the SIRI was associated with the overall survival of patients with NPC in the primary and validation cohorts. The SIRI was identified to be an independent prognostic factor for NPC. In addition, we developed and validated a new prognostic nomogram that integrated clinicopathological factors and the SIRI. This nomogram can efficiently predict the prognosis of patients with NPC. The SIRI is a novel, simple and inexpensive prognostic predictor for patients with NPC. The SIRI has important value for predicting the prognosis of patients with NPC and developing individualized treatment plans.

Background The systemic inflammation response index (SIRI), a novel and cost-effective serum biomarker, is associated with prognosis in patients with cancer. However, the prognostic value of the SIRI in cancer remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the potential role of the SIRI as a prognostic indicator in cancer. Methods Reports in which the prognostic value of the SIRI in cancer was evaluated were retrieved from electronic databases. The pooled hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated to evaluate the prognostic significance of the SIRI. The odds ratio (OR) was also calculated to explore the association between the SIRI and clinicopathological features. Results This study included 30 retrospective studies with 38 cohorts and 10 754 cases. The meta-analysis indicated that a high SIRI was associated with short overall survival (OS) (HR = 2.04, 95% CI = 1.82–2.29, P < .001) and disease-free survival (DFS)/recurrence-free survival (RFS)/progression-free survival (PFS) (HR = 2.08, 95% CI = 1.84–2.34, P < .001). Subgroup analysis showed that the prognostic value of the SIRI was significant in all kinds of cancer included. Moreover, the SIRI was significantly correlated with sex, tumor size, T stage, N stage, TNM stage, and lymphovascular invasion. Conclusion The pretreatment SIRI could be a promising universal prognostic indicator in cancer.

Pendapat ini didasarkan pada pasal 43 ayat (1) Undang-Undang Perkawinan mengatakan bahwa “Anak-anak yang lahir di luar pernikahan hanya mungkin memiliki hubungan perdata dengan ibu dan keluarga ibu mereka. Oleh karena itu pernikahan sirri akan menganulir hak istri dan anakanak. Dengan putusan Mahkamah Konstitusi Nomor 46 / PUU-VIII / 2010, anak yang lahir di luar pernikahan mungkin memiliki hubungan perdata dengan laki-laki yang terbukti menjadi ayah biologisnya. Berdasarkan hal ini, Pasal 43 ayat (1) berbunyi: “anak-anak yang lahir di lluar nikah memiliki hubungan perdata dengan ibu dan keluarga ibunya serta dengan ayah mereka dan keluarga ayah mereka dalam kasus hubungan biologis ini dapat terbukti secara ilmiah atau teknologi, dan / atau ada bukti lain seperti hubungan darah, termasuk hubungan sipil dengan keluarga ayah mereka dapat dibuktikan.

Aidha walimu na wanafunzi wa viwango vyote watafaidika kwa sababu wataelewa kazi teule zaidi. Waandishi nao watafaidika kutokana na makala haya kwa sababu watayatumia kama kifaa cha kutunga kazi za baadaye za kiwango cha juu zaidi kuhusiana na motifu ya siri. Vilevile makala haya yatatoa mchango mkubwa katika taaluma ya fasihi ya Kiswahili kwa kuwa yataongeza maarifa mapya kuhusu namna wahusika wanaweza kuingiliana na kukuza kazi za kibunilizi zilizo na motifu mbalimbali.

Abstract:
Com o objetivo de avaliar o valor nutritivo de siri-do-Pilar e caranguejo-uçá foram analisadas 20 amostras de cada crustáceo, adquiridas no complexo estuarino-lagunar Mundaú/Manguaba, localizado no estado de Alagoas, Brasil. Foram detectados elevados teores de umidade (siri – 79,82% e caranguejo 78,85%), proteínas (siri – 17,71% e caranguejo – 17,99%) e cinzas (siri – 2,18% e caranguejo – 2,06%), porém reduzidos valores de lipídios (siri – 2.78% e caranguejo – 2,57%). O valor calórico correspondeu a 96,0 kcal no siri e 95,0 kcal no caranguejo. Os teores de colesterol foram muito baixos, sendo 34,65 mg/100g em siri-do-Pilar e 35,37 mg/100g em caranguejo–uçá. Quanto ao teor de ácidos graxos, para o siri-do-Pilar foram verificados os seguintes valores: 37,9% de saturados, 23,2% de monoinsaturados e 29,9% de poliinsaturados; em caranguejo-uçá foram detectados 30.0% de saturados, 31,4% de monoinsaturados e 34,9% de poliinsaturados. Em vista dos resultados obtidos, as duas espécies de crustáceos podem ser consideradas como alimentos benéficos a saúde, cujo consumo deve ser estimulado.

Pada hakikatnya pernikahan secara siri dilakukan oleh mereka ynag tidak bisa melakukan pernikahan secara formal, dan bukan tanpa sebab pernikahan secara siri ini terjadi. Permasalahan yang menyertai pernikahan secara bisa terjadi dari sisi hukum, ekonomi, rumitnya dispensasi pernikahan, hamil di luar nikah, kurangnya pemahaman terhadap pencatatan pernikahan. Di Indonesia sendiri pernikahan secara siri marak terjadi maka dari itu, perlu ditanyakan mengenai keabsahan pernikahan secara siri ini. Jika melihat dari salah atu dampaknya yaitu, anak yang dilahirkan dari hasil pernikahan siri tidak akan mendapkan warisan dari ayahnya ketika meninggal, termasuk juga terhadap isteri yang tidak akan mendapatkan harga gono-gini ketika suaminya meninggal juga anaknya yang masih hidup.

623 Background: Whilethe systemic inflammatory response assessed by SIRI has been recognized as a prognostic factor in advanced pancreatic cancer, understanding its association with patients' nutritional status may provide deeper insights into disease biology and outcomes. Methods: This is an observational, non-interventional and multicenter study (15 Spanish hospitals) promoted by SEOM, including retrospective and prospectively patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer in routine clinical practice. Clinical and nutritional data was recorded, and SIRI was calculated using the formula: (neutrophils x monocytes) / lymphocytes. We considered SIRI score as low (SIRI-L) or high (SIRI-H) using a cutoff of <2.3 or ≥2.3, respectively based in our previous findings. PANDORA-SEOM tool was used for electronic data collection. The main outcome is to correlate SIRI with the nutritional status. Other aims were to correlate the overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) with SIRI and weight loss in the 3 months prior to diagnosis using the Kaplan-Meier method and multivariate Cox regression model. Data from the pilot study is presented in this abstract, and more data is expected to be available prior to the Congress. Results: We included 144 patients retrospectively: 65% men, with median age of 66 years (range 45-81). The most common 1st line chemotherapy regimen were gemcitabine + nab/paclitaxel (63.2%), mFOLFIRINOX (20.1%) and FOLFOX (11.8). Prior to diagnosis, 54.2% of patients had weight loss >5 Kilograms (Kg) and 22.9% lost >10 Kg. SIRI-H was significantly associated with weight loss >5Kg compared to SIRI-L, 35.7 vs 24% respectively (p=0.028). Patients with a pretreatment SIRI-H showed shorter OS compared to SIRI-L (median OS 5 vs 12 months, Hazard Ratio (HR) 3.047, 95% Confidence Interval (CI) 2.069-4.488, p<0.001), as well as shorter PFS (median PFS 5 vs 10 months, HR 2.364, 95% CI 1.650-3.387, p<0.001). In the patient subgroup that experienced >5Kg weight loss, SIRI-H was associated with worse OS (median OS 4 vs 12 months). We didn’t find an association between CA19.9 level and SIRI or weight loss. Multivariate analysis identified SIRI as an independent prognostic factor for OS (HR 2.962, 95% CI 1.911-4.591, P<0.001). Conclusions: Our findings underscore the importance of SIRI as a significant predictor of nutritional status and disease aggressiveness in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer. Prospective data will help us to validate these findings.

Systemic inflammation is closely related to the occurrence and development of tumours. Based on preoperative neutrophil, monocyte, and lymphocyte counts, a new systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) was established, and the predictive ability of the SIRI for the survival of patients with adenocarcinoma of the oesophagogastric junction (AEG) was evaluated by propensity score matching (PSM) analysis. A total of 302 AEG patients undergoing radical surgery were studied. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed using Cox proportional hazards regression models. Time-dependent receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to compare the predictive capabilities of the SIRI. PSM was implemented to balance the baseline characteristics. The results showed that the SIRI, PLR, NLR, and MLR were associated with overall survival (OS) in AEG patients based on the Kaplan-Meier survival analysis. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that the SIRI was an independent prognostic factor. The AUC for the SIRI was significantly greater than that for the NLR, PLR, and MLR in predicting the 3- and 5-year OS of AEG patients. In PSM analysis, the SIRI remained an independent prognostic indicator of OS in AEG patients. The SIRI is a novel, simple, and inexpensive prognostic predictor for AEG. The prognostic value of the SIRI is superior to that of the PLR, NLR, and MLR. The SIRI can be used to distinguish the prognosis of AEG patients with different TNM stages and can be an important supplement to TNM staging.

Konsep hukum Islam mengenai pernikahan siri berakar pada nash-nash al-Quran dan hadis yang memberikan landasan bagi praktik ini. Dalam pandangan Islam, perkawinan siri dapat sah jika memenuhi syarat-syarat tertentu, meskipun hal ini seringkali bertentangan dengan hukum positif di Indonesia yang mengatur perkawinan secara resmi. Di Indonesia, perkawinan siri seringkali terjadi di luar kontrol hukum negara dan tidak diakui secara resmi. Implikasi hukum dari praktik ini mencakup status hukum anak, hak-hak waris, dan kewajiban-kewajiban finansial antara pasangan. Sementara itu, secara sosial, perkawinan siri dapat menimbulkan stigmatisasi terhadap perempuan yang terlibat serta menimbulkan ketidakstabilan dalam struktur keluarga. Dalam menangani perkawinan siri, diperlukan pendekatan yang holistik yang melibatkan kerjasama antara institusi agama, lembaga hukum, dan masyarakat sipil. Pendidikan dan peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat tentang konsekuensi hukum dan sosial dari perkawinan siri menjadi kunci untuk mengurangi praktik ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis literatur tentang konsep hukum Islam mengenai perkawinan siri di Indonesia dan implikasinya. Diharapkan artikel ini dapat menjadi kontribusi dalam pemahaman lebih lanjut tentang masalah yang kompleks ini serta mendorong diskusi dan tindakan yang lebih luas untuk menangani perkawinan siri dengan bijaksanaan dan adil.

Background: in a recent double-blind, placebo controlled RCT we demonstrated that selective inhibition of cyclo-oxygenase 2 (COX2) is an effective adjunctive strategy in treatment-resistant bipolar depression (TRBDD). To better clarify the mechanisms underlying TRBDD and treatment response, we conducted a retrospective exploratory analysis of the systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI = absolute neutrophils × absolute monocytes/absolute lymphocytes) in relation to other biomarkers and clinical outcomes after escitalopram (ESC), combined with the COX-2 inhibitor, celecoxib (CBX), versus placebo. Methods: Baseline measures of SIRI were compared between TRBDD and healthy controls (HC), and correlated with blood-based inflammatory cytokines, kynurenines, and growth factors. Post-treatment Hamilton Depression Rating Scale 17 (HAMD-17) total scores (clinical outcome) were modelled according to SIRI adjusting for demographics (including relevant interactions with SIRI), baseline depression, treatment arm, and treatment timepoint using multiple linear regression and robust linear mixed effects models. Results: Baseline SIRI did not distinguish TRBDD from HC groups. Baseline SIRI was significantly correlated with lower baseline MCP-1. The relationship between SIRI and HAMD-17 was significant at treatment week 8, in contrast to baseline. Finally, baseline SIRI predicted elevated post-treatment HAMD-17 scores, amongst patients with elevated depression scores at baseline. Significance: High pre-treatment SIRI may predict poorer depressive outcomes amongst TRBDD patients with baseline elevated depression.

Silicon ribbons (SiRi) have been well-established as highly sensitive transducers for biosensing applications thanks to their high surface to volume ratio. However, selective and multiplexed detection of biomarkers remains a challenge. Further, very few attempts have been made to integrate SiRi with complementary-metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) circuits to form a complete lab-on-chip (LOC). Integration of SiRi with CMOS will facilitate real time detection of the output signal and provide a compact small sized LOC. Here, we propose a novel pixel based SiRi device monolithically integrated with CMOS field-effect-transistors (FET) for real-time selective multiplexed detection. The SiRi pixels are fabricated on a silicon-on-insulator wafer using a top-down method. Each pixel houses a control FET, fluid-gate (FG) and SiRi sensor. The pixel is controlled by simultaneously applying frontgate (VG) and backgate voltage (VBG). The liquid potential can be monitored using the FG. We report the transfer characteristics (ID-VG) of N- and P-type SiRi pixels. Further, the ID-VG characteristics of the SiRis are studied at different VBG. The application of VBG to turn ON the SiRi modulates the subthreshold slope (SS) and threshold voltage (VTH) of the control FET. Particularly, N-type pixels cannot be turned OFF due to the control NFET operating in the strong inversion regime. This is due to large VBG (≥25 V) application to turn ON the SiRi sensor. Conversely, the P-type SiRi sensors do not require large VBG to switch ON. Thus, P-type pixels exhibit excellent ION/IOFF ≥ 106, SS of 70–80 mV/dec and VTH of 0.5 V. These promising results will empower the large-scale cost-efficient production of SiRi based LOC sensors.

The procession of a marriage contract at a series of marriages conducted by the people of Makmur Village was carried out without the attendance of the Registrar of Marriage and the knowledge of the Religious Affairs Office (KUA). Even so, it turned out that after the marriage contract took place it was held at Siri marriage. This research is empirical legal research which is a case study, using a qualitative approach. The author delves into the data needed by conducting in-depth interviews with the subject under study. The findings of this study are that the marriage of Siri which is practiced by the people of Desa Makmur is held like the official marriage ceremony. Walimah was held openly by inviting family and surrounding communities. Holding a Siri marriage is an act that is usually done, therefore if Siri marriage is done continuously it will result in more siri marriages occurring in the community, especially in Makmur Village. AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya praktik walimah pernikahan siri pada masyarakat Desa Makmur Kecamatan Gambut Kabupaten Banjar. Prosesi akad nikah pada pernikahan siri yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat Desa Makmur dilaksanakan tanpa dihadiri oleh Pegawai Pencatat Nikah dan tanpa sepengetahuan pihak KUA. Meskipun begitu, ternyata setelah akad nikah berlangsung diadakanlah walimah pada pernikahan siri tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian hukum empiris yang bersifat studi kasus, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Penulis menggali data yang diperlukan dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam terhadap subjek yang diteliti. Hasil temuan dari penelitian ini adalah walimah pernikahan siri yang dipraktikkan oleh masyarakat Desa Makmur diselenggarakan seperti walimah pernikahan yang resmi. Walimah tersebut diselenggarakan secara terang-terangan dengan mengundang keluarga dan masyarakat sekitar. Mengadakan walimah pernikahan siri merupakan suatu perbuatan yang sudah biasa dilakukan (kebiasaan), oleh karena itu apabila walimah pernikahan siri terus menerus dilakukan maka akan berakibat bertambah banyak terjadi pernikahan siri pada masyarakat, khususnya di Desa Makmur.

Masyarakat Makassar terutama dalam masyakat Tanjung Bunga Kota Makassar, budaya Siri Makassar masih dipertahankan dari generasi ke generasi dan masih diterapkan dalam masyarakat, tapi secara umum budaya siri Makassar mulai bergeser dengan pengaruh budaya modernisasi dan globalisasi serta perkembangan dan kemajuan teknologi yang semakin pesat dan merubah perilaku masyarakat sedikit demi sedikit. Background. We investigated the prognostic significance of pretreatment systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) in locally advanced pancreatic carcinoma (LAPC) patients treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT). Methods. Present retrospective cohort analysis investigated consecutive 154 LAPC patients who received radical CRT. The SIRI was defined as: SIRI=neutrophil×monocyte/lymphocyte counts. Ideal SIRI cutoff(s) influencing overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) results were sought by using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. The primary endpoint was the interaction between the SIRI and OS results. Results. The median follow-up, PFS, and OS durations were 14.3 (range: 2.9-74.6), 7.9 [%95 confidence interval (CI): 5.7-10.1), and 14.7 months (%95 CI: 11.4-18.0) for the entire cohort, respectively. ROC curve analyses determined the ideal SIRI cutoff that exhibiting a significant link with OS and PFS outcomes at the rounded 1.6 point (AUC: 74.3%; sensitivity: 73.8%; specificity: 70.1%).The SIRI <1.6 patients (N=58) had significantly superior median PFS (13.8 versus 6.7 months; P<0.001) and OS (28.6 versus 12.6 months; P<0.001) lengths than SIRI ≥1.6 patients (N=96), respectively. Although the N0 (versus N1; P<0.05) and CA 19-9 ≤90 U/mL (versus >90 U/mL) appeared as the other significant associates of better OS and PFS in univariate analyses, yet the results of multivariate analyses confirmed the SIRI <1.6 as the independent indicator of superior OS and PFS (P<0.001 for each). Conclusion. Pretreatment SIRI is a novel independent prognosticator that may further enhance the conventional tumor-node-metastases staging system in a more precise prediction of the OS and PFS outcomes of LAPC patients after radical CRT.

(1) Background: The systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI; neutrophil count × monocyte/lymphocyte count), and the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII; platelet count × neutrophil count/lymphocyte count) are recently proposed biomarkers to assess the immune and inflammatory status. However, data on SIRI and SII are still relatively lacking and do not definitively and exhaustively define their role as predictors of an adverse prognosis in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The aim of the present study was to evaluate SII and SIRI determinants as well as to assess SIRI and SII prognostic power in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). (2) Methods: A total of 105 STEMI patients (74 males, 70 ± 11 years) were studied (median follow-up 54 ± 25 months, 24 deaths). (3) Results: The main determinants of SIRI and SII were creatinine and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) (multivariate regression). Patients with higher SIRI (>75th percentile, 4.9) and SII (>75th percentile, 1257.5) had lower survival rates than those in the low SIRI/SII group (Kaplan–Meier analysis). Univariate Cox regression revealed that high SIRI and SII were associated with mortality (HR: 2.6, 95% CI: 1.1–5.8, p < 0.05; 2.2, 1–4.9, p ≤ 0.05, respectively); however, these associations lost their significance after multivariate adjustment. (4) Conclusions: SIRI and SII association with mortality was significantly affected by confounding factors in our population, especially creatinine and BNP, which are associated with both the inflammatory indices and the outcome.

Nikah siri tanpa adanya izin dari istri yang sah dapat memberi ruang delik perzinaan, perzinaan diatur dalam pasal 284 KUHP sepanjang pelaku nikah siri tidak dapat membuktikan bahwa benar telah ada perkawinan yang sah sebagaimana ketentuan Pasal 2 ayat (1) UUP, dan hanya bisa dituntut berdasarkan adanya pengaduan dari istri/suami yang tercemar (delik aduan). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pandangan masyarakat atas nikah siri menjadi sah menurut agama serta berdasarkan pasal 284 dan mengetahui perlindungan hukum bagi istri yang ditelantarkan oleh suaminya yang sudah nikah siri. Metode penelitian yang dipergunakan adalah metode pendekatan Yuridis Normatif atau metode penelitian Hukum Normatif (penelitian hukum kepustakaan) yang dilakukan dengan cara terlebih dahulu meneliti bahan-bahan kepustakaan yang relevan dengan permasalahan yang diteliti dan mengacu kepada norma-norma hukum yang terdapat dalam peraturan perundang-undangan. Permasalahan yang menyertai pernikahan siri, khususnya bagi perempuan, antara lain masalah keluarga, masalah sosial serta psikologis. Secara hukum, pernikahan siri bagi perempuan adalah bahwa istri tidak dianggap sebagai istri sah dan tidak berhak mendapat warisan jika suami meninggal, tidak berhak mendapat harga gono-gini bila terjadi perpisahan. Dampak tersebut juga belaku bagi anak kandung hasil pernikahan siri.

The aim of this research is to get understanding on cultural values of siri' in Bugis community represented in film Tarung Sarung. The method used in this research is qualitative-descriptive with a film studies approach. This study uses Stuart Hall's representation theory to determine the representation of siri' cultural values. Siri' cultural values in this film are represented as inspiration to move the characters in solving problems. There are two points obtained in this study. The first is siri' culture is very prominent, especially in the relationship between men and women. The second, siri' culture is represented as an important ideology to uphold self-respect among the Bugis community.
