Abstract:
Abstract After examining the competing perspectives regarding single person consumption, this paper makes an effort to improve the quantification of economic losses in cases involving the wrongful death of single persons. I show a new disaggregation of the Consumer Expenditure Survey microdata source which is then used to calculate various economic loss measures warranted by legal jurisdiction and economic thought. Traditional personal consumption methodology computes economic losses as the decedent's earnings multiplied by one minus a personal consumption rate. This paper adds a new method of computing economic losses as the decedent's earnings multiplied by the percent of survivors' or estate's benefit from those earnings. Significant differences result between the methods and in the personal consumption amounts between males and females and wage-earners and non-wage earners of retirement age. It was also discovered that some single-person maintenance consumption results may be applicable to married persons.

Abstract:
Abstract Kurt Krueger's paper on “Personal Consumption and Single Persons” (2011) identifies five approaches for determining the amount that should be subtracted from the income of wrongfully killed single persons living in single person households to account for the personal expenses of those single persons when calculating economic damages in wrongful death circumstances. However, none of Krueger's methods are useful in the large majority of states with conventional Wrongful Death Acts. The reason is not flaws in Krueger's calculations, but flaws in Krueger's understanding of what is required in Wrongful Death Actions.

Abstract:
Properties of psychological variables at the mean or variance level can differ between persons and within persons across multiple time points. For example, cross-sectional findings between persons of different ages do not necessarily reflect the development of a single person over time. Recently, there has been an increased interest in the difference between covariance structures, expressed by covariance matrices, that evolve between persons and within a single person over multiple time points. If these structures are identical at the population level, the structure is called ergodic. However, recent data confirms that ergodicity is not generally given, particularly not for cognitive variables. For example, the g factor that is dominant for cognitive abilities between persons seems to explain far less variance when concentrating on a single person’s data. However, other subdimensions of cognitive abilities seem to appear both between and within persons; that is, there seems to be a lower-dimensional subspace of cognitive abilities in which cognitive abilities are in fact ergodic. In this article, we present ergodic subspace analysis (ESA), a mathematical method to identify, for a given set of variables, which subspace is most important within persons, which is most important between person, and which is ergodic. Similar to the common spatial patterns method, the ESA method first whitens a joint distribution from both the between and the within variance structure and then performs a principle component analysis (PCA) on the between distribution, which then automatically acts as an inverse PCA on the within distribution. The difference of the eigenvalues allows a separation of the rotated dimensions into the three subspaces corresponding to within, between, and ergodic substructures. We apply the method to simulated data and to data from the COGITO study to exemplify its usage.

Abstract:
Articles 101 and 102 TFEU apply to the activities of undertakings. An undertaking may comprise several natural or legal persons, together referred to as a "single economic entity." The grouping of several natural or legal persons into a single economic entity raises the questions of whether persons that form part of a single economic entity are able to enter into agreements amongst themselves that are contrary to Article 101; and also which of the constituent legal entities may be held liable for an infringement of EU competition law committed by the economic entity. In light of case law concerning these questions we offer a reconceptualization of the single economic entity doctrine and its role within competition law.

Abstract:
Although the performance of the 3D human shape reconstruction method has improved considerably in recent years, most methods focus on a single person, reconstruct a root-relative 3D shape, and rely on ground-truth information about the absolute depth to convert the reconstruction result to the camera coordinate system. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end learning-based model for single-shot, 3D, multi-person shape reconstruction in the camera coordinate system from a single RGB image. Our network produces output tensors divided into grid cells to reconstruct the 3D shapes of multiple persons in a single-shot manner, where each grid cell contains information about the subject. Moreover, our network predicts the absolute position of the root joint while reconstructing the root-relative 3D shape, which enables reconstructing the 3D shapes of multiple persons in the camera coordinate system. The proposed network can be learned in an end-to-end manner and process images at about 37 fps to perform the 3D multi-person shape reconstruction task in real time.

Abstract:
The predominant means of communication is speech; however, there are persons whose speaking or hearing abilities are impaired. Communication presents a significant barrier for persons with such disabilities. The use of deep learning methods can help to reduce communication barriers. This paper proposes a deep learning-based model that detects and recognizes the words from a person’s gestures. Deep learning models, namely, LSTM and GRU (feedback-based learning models), are used to recognize signs from isolated Indian Sign Language (ISL) video frames. The four different sequential combinations of LSTM and GRU (as there are two layers of LSTM and two layers of GRU) were used with our own dataset, IISL2020. The proposed model, consisting of a single layer of LSTM followed by GRU, achieves around 97% accuracy over 11 different signs. This method may help persons who are unaware of sign language to communicate with persons whose speech or hearing is impaired.

Abstract:
<b><i>Introduction:</i></b> Current understanding of the psychometric properties of items intended to assess the multidimensional construct of subjective memory (SM) is limited, as longitudinal studies of aging commonly use single items or brief sets of items to assess SM. Investigating how SM items cluster within individuals over time would increase the understanding of how combining these items impacts their utility as an early indicator of cognitive change in the aging trajectory. To address this need, the current study examined the factor structure of a brief set of SM items in an existing longitudinal study focused on cognitive aging at both the within-person and between-person levels. <b><i>Methods:</i></b> Data were drawn from the Einstein Aging Study, a longitudinal cohort study of aging (<i>N</i> = 1,239, <i>M</i>age = 77.51, SD = 5.03; 69.50% white; 24.27% black; 6.23% other). Community-dwelling older adults from an urban area of New York City were interviewed annually. At each wave, participants responded to 6 items intended to assess SM. Items assessed participants’ perceived memory decline as well as current memory ability. Multilevel exploratory factor analyses examined which factor solution best fit the data at between-person and within-person levels. <b><i>Results:</i></b> Factor structure of the SM items varied at the two levels. At the within-person level, two factors emerged, whereas at the between-person level, a single factor best represented the SM items. Items assessing perceived declines in memory functioning tended to have similar trajectories, while items assessing current memory ability were less related to change over time. <b><i>Conclusion:</i></b> Items appeared to assess two different dimensions of SM when examining within-person changes in SM across time; however, the item structure suggested no other items covaried systematically within persons over time. In contrast to the conceptualization of SM as a multidimensional construct, our findings suggest that when measuring SM between individuals, SM items tend to capture a single dimension underlying SM. This may be due to the long retrospection period of items assessing perceived memory ability. A single item assessing perceived memory decline in older adults without evidence of objective cognitive impairment may be sufficient to monitor memory change in clinical or research settings.

Abstract In a recent JFE article, I presented five empirical approaches to identify the personal consumption of earnings made by single persons. I stated that forensic economic estimates of earnings minus personal consumption are relevant to, but do not define, the awardable financial support damages to survivors or estates under the various wrongful death laws in the United States. In a comment on my article, Thomas Ireland has stated that the role of forensic economic evaluation is to only estimate how much financial support single decedents would actually have provided to statutory survivors—which he states is often zero. I present several arguments and facts to show that Ireland's criticisms and concerns are unsupportable.

Abstract:
The atheistic Hiddenness Argument contains a controversial premise that a perfectly loving God would love every single person. J. L. Schellenberg, the author of the Argument, claims that this premise is necessarily true. However, many ancient theologians would disagree with the truth of this premise. In this paper, I provide evidence of the variety of alternative theological views from antiquity concerning the proper object of perfect divine love. The list of alternatives includes 1) the whole humanity as a collective subject, 2) humanity as a universal, 3) divine image reflected in human beings, 4) the community of the faithful, 5) a chosen people. Based on the disagreement between Schellenberg and the ancient theologians concerning the proper object of perfect divine love, I argue that the aforementioned premise of the hiddenness argument, even if true, is not necessarily true. Therefore, the key premise of the hiddenness argument turns out to be without support, and the Argument turns out to be unsound.

Three experiments investigated the processing of person descriptions that consisted of a number of statements about the characteristics of a person. In one condition, each statement referred to a single person attribute and in the other condition, causal and additive conjunctions to verbally link the statements were introduced. Evidence was found that the introduction of verbal links enhanced participants’ memory about the characteristics of the described person. On-line measures of processing showed that the comprehension of person information was strongly facilitated by the introduction of verbal links. Furthermore, the results were due to the introduction of causal connections between person attributes. These findings are discussed in terms of their implications for models of person memory and representation.

BackgroundNeighbourhood characteristics may influence the risk of psychosis, independently of their individual-level equivalents.AimsTo examine these issues in a multi-level model of schizophrenia incidence.MethodCases of schizophrenia, incident between 1986 and 1997, were identified from the Maastricht Mental Health Case Register. A multi-level analysis was conducted to examine the independent effects of individual-level and neighbourhood-level variables in 35 neighbourhoods.ResultsIndependent of individual-level single and divorced marital status, an effect of the proportion of single persons and proportion of divorced persons in a neighbourhood was apparent (per 1% increase respectively: RR=1.02; 95% CI 1.00–1.03; and RR=1.12, 95% CI 1.04–1.2.1). Single marital status interacted with the neighbourhood proportion of single persons, the effect being stronger in neighbourhoods with fewer single-person households.ConclusionsThe neighbourhood environment modifies the individual risk for schizophrenia. Premorbid vulnerability resulting in single marital status may be more likely to progress to overt disease in an environment with a higher perceived level of social isolation.

Abstract:
The right of transgender (‘trans’) persons to access gender-segregated space is neither a new controversy nor a conversation which is unique to the United Kingdom. Yet, despite increasingly charged political debates in North America, the question of trans access to single-gender facilities remains largely underexplored by British legal academics. In January 2016, the UK House of Commons Select Committee on Women and Equalities recommended expanding trans entry into single-gender services and communal accommodations under the Equality Act 2010. Using the Committee’s report as a springboard for debate, this article considers the right of trans populations to use their preferred women-only and men-only spaces. Critically analysing the existing possibilities to exclude trans persons from services and accommodations, as well as the policy arguments which motivate this approach, the article demonstrates how, adopting common-sense, evidence-based reforms, Parliament can introduce legal rules which both prioritize user safety and respect trans dignity.

Background and aim:If a person does not become ambulant after an amputation, a knee disarticulation (KD) shouldbe considered and the person may then benefit from a cosmetic KD prosthesis. The features of a cosmetic KD prosthesis are, however, seldom described. The aim of this clinical note is to describe the development of a cosmeticKD prosthesis.Technique:A non-ambulant person with bilateral KD formulated, together with her physiatrist, the criteria for a cosmetic KD prosthesis. On the basis of these, a lightweight, natural-looking, well-fitting, easy-to-put-on and take-off KD prosthesis, with no thigh lengthening during sitting, was made. This prosthesis was fixed on a wheelchair and does not impede transfer.Discussion:A newly constructed cosmetic prosthesis for non-ambulant persons with a KD is described in detail. We hope that this will encourage physiatrists and prosthetists to offer non-ambulant persons with a KD a cosmetic prosthesis.Clinical relevanceA cosmetic leg prosthesis with good cosmetic properties, good sitting comfort, and no restrictions in making transfers is described in detail for non-ambulant persons with a knee disarticulation.

Abstract:
In this article, the author considers persons awarded the sign “Resident of Beleaguered Sevastopol” as a new basis for classifying persons as veterans of the Great Patriotic War, introduced into the legislation of the Russian Federation in 2020, drawing an analogy with the status of persons awarded with the sign “Resident of Blockaded Leningrad » In order to improve the specified subcategory of veterans of the Great Patriotic War. According to the author, the legal relationship regarding the assignment of the federal title of veteran of the Great Patriotic War for persons who lived in beleaguered Sevastopol currently includes, in addition to the material and legal component (the fact of a person’s residence in Sevastopol during the specified period), also procedural component in the sphere of awards of the subject of the Russian Federation, which is at the discretion of the legislator of the subject of the Russian Federation. The author proposes to abandon the criterion for awarding a sign in favor of establishing in the federal law specific criteria for the residence of persons in a certain territory during the Great Patriotic War, to adopt a Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation on the procedure for determining persons falling under the criteria of residence in these cities, so that this determination can be carried out on the entire territory of the Russian Federation, and also establish a single criterion for referring to veterans of the Great Patriotic War for residents of beleaguered Sevastopol and blockaded Leningrad, associated with the fact of living in these cities during the beleaguer (blockade).

Single persons and persons from lower socio-economic groups were less likely to have a diagnosis of depression. No association was found between physical and psychiatric morbidity. Depressed single persons and depressed persons from lower socio-economic groups were less likely to receive antidepressants. GPs prescribed lower dosages of antidepressants than psychiatrists. Patients receiving antidepressants were more likely to die by drug overdose.ConclusionsThere are groups in whom depression may be being overlooked and others in whom depression could be treated more vigorously. There are risks in prescribing antidepressants which are potentially fatal in overdose.

Abstract:
The aim of the present experiment was to investigate differences between persons who stutter and persons who do not stutter during the production of sentences in a single task versus two dual-task conditions. Participants were required to form a sentence containing 2 unrelated nouns. In dual-task conditions, rhyme and category decisions were used as secondary tasks. The results for 14 adults who stutter and 16 adults who do not stutter are reported. Dependent variables were the number of correct rhyme and category decisions, decision latencies, length, number of propositions, sentence latency, speech rate of sentences, disfluencies, and stuttering rates. The results indicated that both groups reduced the average number of correct rhyme and category decisions when this task was performed concurrently with sentence generation and production. Similarly, the 2 groups of participants did not differ with respect to the correctness and latency of their decisions. Under single-task conditions the sentences of both groups had a comparable number of propositions. But under dual- as compared with singletask conditions persons who stutter significantly reduced the number of propositions whereas persons who do not stutter did not show a significant dual- versus single-task contrast. Experimental conditions did not significantly influence stuttering rates. These results suggest that persons who stutter require more processing capacity for sentence generation and articulation than persons who do not stutter and that both groups keep stuttering rates at a constant level by adjusting the number of propositional units of their linguistic productions. The results support the view that the organization of the speech-production system of persons who stutter makes it more vulnerable to interference from concurrent attention-demanding semantic tasks.

Abstract:
Purpose This study examined the relationship between single word reading, connected text reading, and comprehension in persons with aphasia. Method Thirteen persons with aphasia read orally from the Arizona Battery for Reading and Spelling real-word and nonword lists and the Gray Oral Reading Tests–Fifth Edition. The comprehension questions following each paragraph of the Gray Oral Reading Tests–Fifth Edition were answered and scored. The Reading Comprehension Battery for Aphasia–Second Edition provided a measure of silent reading comprehension. Descriptive statistics and Spearman correlation were used to examine associations among reading measures. Results Persons with aphasia showed associations between single word reading and connected text reading accuracy; however, single word reading ability was not associated with oral or silent reading comprehension. Conclusions Although preliminary, the findings provide support for word-level reading abilities underlying connected text reading accuracy but suggest additional cognitive mechanisms are involved in text-level reading comprehension that are not explained by single word reading alone. The findings indicate clinicians should use caution when inferring comprehension abilities from single word reading performance as reading comprehension abilities are likely best assessed using text-level comprehension assessments.

Abstract:
Backgroung/Aim. Since the number of elderly persons is gradually increasing worldwide, there is a need to identify the factors that affect the quality of healthy ageing. On the other hand, depression is the most common psychiatric disorder in the elderly and one of the most serious health problems that modern society is facing. Considering the importance of physical activity for healthy ageing, the question is whether there are differences in quality of life and depression in the elderly in relation to the certain characteristics of physical activities practicing. Methods. Differences in the quality of life and occurrence of depression in elderly were examined in relation to duration of a single training session and frequency of physical activities per week. This non-experimental, descriptive and comparative cross-sectional study involved a total of 188 persons aged 65?84 years, where 90 persons are engaged in a physical activity while 98 persons are not. The Older People?s Quality of Life Questionnaire and the Geriatric Depression Scale were used. Results. Statistically significant difference was found in the following domains of quality of life: health, social relationships and psychological and emotional well-being as well as in the total score of quality of life and in the occurrence of depression. The highest values of quality of life and the lowest level of depression manifestation were observed in the group of persons whose single training session lasted for 60 minutes, and in the group of persons engaged in a physical activity twice a week. Conclusion. The main finding indicates that the differences in the duration of a single training session and the frequency of physical activities per week reflect on the overall quality of life, individual domains of quality of life and the occurrence of depression in the elderly persons.

Abstract:
Background Persons with multiple sclerosis may benefit from hospital-based multidisciplinary rehabilitation. Objectives To investigate the effects of hospital-based multidisciplinary rehabilitation and to identify their potential predictors in a large sample of persons with multiple sclerosis. Methods From the charts of 655 persons with multiple sclerosis consecutively admitted to our unit, disease profiles, modified Barthel index, Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS), pain numerical rating score and type of interventions were retrospectively collected. We defined an improvement at discharge as follows: modified Barthel index increase of at least 5 points, EDSS decrease of 1.0 if baseline score was 5.5 or less and of 0.5 if baseline score was greater than 5.5; any numerical rating score decrease. Results After a median admission period of 36 days, at discharge 65%, 22% and 89% of persons with multiple sclerosis improved for modified Barthel index, EDSS and numerical rating score, respectively. The modified Barthel index improvement was associated with shorter disease duration, lower EDSS at baseline and with access to psychological counselling. EDSS improvement was associated with shorter disease duration, relapsing–remitting course, female gender and longer duration of the admission period. Conclusions Inpatient multidisciplinary rehabilitation was associated with improved autonomy in activities of daily living in a relevant proportion of persons with multiple sclerosis. The effect seems to be more evident in individuals with shorter multiple sclerosis duration and relapsing–remitting disease course.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective. In healthy gait a forceful push-off is needed to get an efficient leg swing and propulsion, and a high heel lift makes a forceful push-off possible. The power of the push-off is decreased with increased age and in persons with impaired balance and gait. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether a wearable equipment (Striton) and algorithms to estimate vertical heel-height during gait from a single optical distance sensor is reliable and feasible for clinical applications. Approach. To assess heel-height with the Striton system an optical distance sensor was used to measure the distance to the floor along the shank. An algorithm was created to transform this measure to a vertical distance. The heel-height was validated in an experimental setup, against a 3D motion capture system (MCS), and test-retest and day-to-day tests were performed on 10 elderly persons. As a reference material 83 elderly persons were included, and heel-height was measured before and after surgery in four patients with the neurological disorder idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH). Main results. In the experimental setup the accuracy was high with a maximum error of 2% at all distances, target colours and inclination angles, and the correlation to the MCS was R = 0.94. Test-retest and day-to-day tests were equal within ±1.2 cm. Mean heel-height of the elderly persons was 16.5 ± 0.6 cm and in the patients with iNPH heel-height was increased from 11.2 cm at baseline to 15.3 cm after surgery. Significance. Striton can reliably measure heel-height during gait, with low test-retest and day-to-day variability. The system was easy to attach, and simple to use, which makes it suitable for clinical applications.

Abstract:
Abstract Research question Given the information available to Devon and Cornwall Police at the time when they received a missing person report, which knowable variables indicated increased odds of the person coming to serious harm? Data The study examines all 92,681 missing reports received by Devon and Cornwall Police over 11 years from 2008 through 2019, for which 3481 (3.8%) persons came to harm, or about one in 27. Variables known at the time the report was filed included (A) risk levels estimated by police applying the College of Policing risk assessment template (high, medium, low), and (B) the missing person’s age, gender, in-care status, disability, dyslexia, learning disability, hearing or visual impairment, reduced mobility, mental illness, child sexual exploitation risk, reported suicidal, vulnerable adult status and previous reports of being missing. Methods Odds ratios are used to estimate differences in likelihood of missing persons coming to harm in a series of single-variable tests. Matrices are used to assess the accuracy of the current risk assessment process used by police services in England and Wales, as applied in Devon and Cornwall. Limited multivariate analysis was undertaken. Findings Application of the current College of Policing protocol for risk assessment by subjective professional judgements yields substantial error rates, with 89% of the predicted high risk cases having no actual harm and 59% of cases with actual harm after not being predicted as high risk. The odds of harm based on single variables examined are highly conditional on age and gender as third factors. Both men and women over 18 are 4 times more likely to be harmed (6.8%) than those under age 18 (1.7%). Conclusions This study casts substantial doubt on the accuracy of the current subjective risk assessment process for missing persons. As the authorizing body for Approved Professional Practice, the College of Policing could use this evidence to endorse further development and implementation of a multivariate evidence-based risk assessment tool for missing persons that takes into account the age and gender of the missing person as well as all other factors in a single forecasting model.

Abstract:
Background:Many people with lower limb loss report the need to concentrate on walking. This may indicate increased reliance on cognitive resources when walking compared to individuals without limb loss. Objective:This study quantified changes in walking associated with addition of a concurrent cognitive task in persons with transfemoral amputation using microprocessor knees compared to age- and sex-matched controls.Study design:Observational, cross-sectional study. Methods:Quantitative motion analysis was used to assess walking under both single-task (walking alone) and dual-task (walking while performing a cognitive task) conditions. Primary outcomes were walking speed, step width, step time asymmetry, and cognitive task response latency and accuracy. Repeated-measures analysis of variance was used to examine the effects of task (single-task and dual-task) and group (transfemoral amputation and control) for each outcome. Results:No significant interactions between task and group were observed (all p > 0.11) indicating that a cognitive task did not differentially affect walking between groups. However, walking was slower with wider steps and more asymmetry in people with transfemoral amputation compared to controls under both conditions. Conclusion:Although there were significant differences in walking between people with transfemoral amputation and matched controls, the effects of a concurrent cognitive task on walking were similar between groups.Clinical relevanceThe addition of a concurrent task did not differentially affect walking outcomes in people with and without transfemoral amputation. However, compared to people without limb loss, people with transfemoral amputation adopted a conservative walking strategy. This strategy may reduce the need to concentrate on walking but also contributed to notable gait deviations.

Abstract:
SummaryThe orthopaedic problems of haemophilia and the surgical techniques most frequently performed by orthopaedic surgeons on haemophilia patients are summarised in this review article. Sometimes it can be recommendable to carry out two or three orthopaedic surgical procedures in a single operative session, with the aim of solving the functional problem in a more global way, which usually is polyarticular. There is no doubt that such an undertaking implies a greater anaesthetic risk, but also avoids the repetition of surgical procedures and saves factor comsumption. Close cooperation between haematologists, orthopaedic surgeons, rehabilitation physicians, paediatricians, psychologists, physiotherapists and nurses is paramount for the satisfactory result of any orthopaedic surgical procedure. There is no doubt that continuous prophylactic clotting factor replacement (prophylactic therapy) is the optimal way to avoid the orthopaedic problems of haemophilia that can still be seen today. Until such a goal can be reached, the orthopaedic surgeon will continue performing arthrocentheses, synoviortheses, synovectomies, tendon lengthenings, débridements, osteotomies, joint replacements, osteosynthesis of fractures and other less frequent surgical procedures on persons with haemophilia.

Abstract:
Background: Suicide has a devastating impact on both survivors and society, and many obstacles to improving prevention efforts stem from our inadequate understanding of suicidality. A potential source of this shortcoming is that the majority of empirical studies focus only on a single specified etiology of suicide. Aims: To address this limitation, we present a further promising way to understand the suicidal state. We do so (1) by providing a brief review of something known as worlds theory ( Bergner, 2006 ), and (b) by presenting the results of a study exploring the relationship between a person’s taking it that his or her world is impossible/nonviable and his or her suicidal state. Methods: In this research, participants were asked to assess the perceived levels of world viability (vs. impossibility/nonviability) of 12 actual persons depicted in clinical vignettes. Results: As predicted, participants judged the worlds of suicidal committers significantly more nonviable than those of suicide attempters, and these in turn significantly more nonviable than those of mentally disordered but nonsuicidal persons. Conclusions: These findings indicate that the worlds of suicidal persons are unlivable – in worlds terms: impossible. We discuss implications of these findings for understanding the suicidal state and for intervening therapeutically.

Abstract:
Abstract There are no risk models available yet that accurately predict a person's risk for developing venous thrombosis. Our aim was therefore to explore whether inclusion of established thrombosis-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in a venous thrombosis risk model improves the risk prediction. We calculated genetic risk scores by counting risk-increasing alleles from 31 venous thrombosis-associated SNPs for subjects of a large case-control study, including 2712 patients and 4634 controls (Multiple Environmental and Genetic Assessment). Genetic risk scores based on all 31 SNPs or on the 5 most strongly associated SNPs performed similarly (areas under receiver-operating characteristic curves [AUCs] of 0.70 and 0.69, respectively). For the 5-SNP risk score, the odds ratios for venous thrombosis ranged from 0.37 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.25-0.53) for persons with 0 risk alleles to 7.48 (95% CI, 4.49-12.46) for persons with more than or equal to 6 risk alleles. The AUC of a risk model based on known nongenetic risk factors was 0.77 (95% CI, 0.76-0.78). Combining the nongenetic and genetic risk models improved the AUC to 0.82 (95% CI, 0.81-0.83), indicating good diagnostic accuracy. To become clinically useful, subgroups of high-risk persons must be identified in whom genetic profiling will also be cost-effective.

Abstract:
Studies on gait symmetry in healthy population have mainly been focused on small range of age categories, neglecting Teenagers (13–18 years old) and Middle-Aged persons (51–60 years old). Moreover, age-related effects on gait symmetry were found only when the symmetry evaluation was based on whole-body acceleration than on spatiotemporal parameters of the gait cycle. Here, we provide a more comprehensive analysis of this issue, using a Symmetry Index (SI) based on whole-body acceleration recorded on individuals aged 6 to 84 years old. Participants wore a single inertial sensor placed on the lower back and walked for 10 m at comfortable, slow and fast speeds. The SI was computed using the coefficient of correlation of whole-body acceleration measured at right and left gait cycles. Young Adults (19–35 years old) and Adults (36–50 years old) showed stable SI over the three speed conditions, while Children (6–12 years old), Teenagers (13–18 years old), Middle-Aged persons and Elderly (61–70 and 71–84 years old) exhibited lower SI values when walking at fast speed. Overall, this study confirms that whole-body gait symmetry is lower in Children and in Elderly persons over 60 years of age, showing, for the first time, that asymmetries appear also during teenage period and in Middle-Aged persons (51–60 years old).

Abstract:
Tax burden demonstrates very precisely the scope of fiscal pressure on business and population by the state. In Georgia physical persons are taxed as by direct taxes (income tax is 20%), as indirect taxes. In the end they have much influence on population’s purchasing power. More than population’s cash income comes from the salaries, accordingly income tax, VAT and excise could be considered as the tax burden of salaries. According to the calculation by this principle, the salary tax burden in Georgia is 39.2 %. In the last 7 years (In comparison with the year 2012) because of the rapid growth of indirect taxes, the mentioned burden has been increased by 2.7 point. To compare the salary tax burden with the European Union countries it is complicated, because since 2008 there is annulled social tax in Georgia, which is paid by employee and employer in Europe. There could be made the comparison if according to the European countries we compare the tax burden value with single workplace, which consists of social taxes paid by salary receivers and employers (contributions). Accordingly, what we will compare with Georgian index the share of direct and indirect taxes in whole salaries, or all tax shares in workplace value, Georgia with tax size will be on leader position (according to the first position) or in outsiders (according to the second position). That means, that in joint list of the EU and Georgia, with the sum of income tax and VAT in comparison with accrued salary, Georgia will be on the second place (39.2%; on the first place is Dania-40.7%) and by the real tax burden of workplace value - on 24th place (On the first place is France-56.7%, on the last place is Cypros-23.4%).

Abstract In this paper, I explore whether there is a need for a multiplicity of norms governing belief due to differences in the objects of those beliefs, particularly the difference between persons and nonpersons. I call the view according to which there is a single epistemic norm governing belief monism, and the view that there is more than one such noun pluralism. I consider three different kinds of objections to monism that stem specifically from considerations unique to assessing the credibility of persons, along with corresponding pluralist proposals. I argue not only that all of the criticisms of monism fail, but also that the proposed pluralist norms face significant problems of their own. In so doing, the aim of the paper is to clear the path for there being a single epistemic norm governing belief, despite there being important epistemic differences between how we ought to treat persons and nonpersons.

Abstract:
This study explored the therapeutic alliance and satisfaction between transgender clients and their therapists. The design was qualitative and heuristically based. Seven transgendered participants who had lived full-time as their non-natal gender for at least three months and who had spent at least the majority of a course of therapy discussing their current gender identity were recruited. Interviews were semistructured, and each was transcribed verbatim. Three levels of coding were used for analysis: seven individual depictions in narrative form, a single composite depiction bringing together similarities between the experiences of the participants, and a single exemplary depiction of critical themes. Results suggest that the participants did not experience many of the heterosexist, sexist, and pathologizing biases described in previous studies. Rather, they described supportive and affirming relationships with their therapists. Some participants had had negative experiences with previous therapists. Participants called for further training and education for therapists and other helping professionals. Implications for theory, research, practice, and policy are explored.

Abstract:
With increasing trend of nuclear family, modern society is also showing a gradual increase in single households. Increase in single household leads to increased use of home appliances. Accordingly, the aim of this study was to examine ownership of electric home appliances (home appliance products that use electricity) and energy consumption status and to obtain implications for energy conservation.A survey was conducted / analyzed on 2,250 households, and the following results were obtained. First, ratio of home appliance ownership and number of appliances per household member were examined. Average number of home appliances was 10.6 for single households, 13.8 for 2-person households and 17.5 for households with 6 persons or more. Second, electric rate was found to be 46,000 won for single households and 114,000 won for households with 6 persons or more. Electric rate per member of household was rapidly reduced from <single household> to <4-person household>, showing about 50% conservation. In other words, increase in single households is regarded to have great impact on increase in energy consumption.

Abstract:
Urban rail transit (URT) is a key mode of public transport, which serves for greatest user demand. Short-term passenger flow prediction aims to improve management validity and avoid extravagance of public transport resources. In order to anticipate passenger flow for URT, managing nonlinearity, correlation, and periodicity of data series in a single model is difficult. This paper offers a short-term passenger flow prediction combination model based on complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN) and long-short term memory neural network (LSTM) in order to more accurately anticipate the short-period passenger flow of URT. In the meantime, the hyperparameters of LSTM were calculated using the improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO). First, CEEMDAN-IPSO-LSTM model performed the CEEMDAN decomposition of passenger flow data and obtained uncoupled intrinsic mode functions and a residual sequence after removing noisy data. Second, we built a CEEMDAN-IPSO-LSTM passenger flow prediction model for each decomposed component and extracted prediction values. Third, the experimental results showed that compared with the single LSTM model, CEEMDAN-IPSO-LSTM model reduced by 40 persons/35 persons, 44 persons/35 persons, 37 persons/31 persons, and 46.89%/35.1% in SD, RMSE, MAE, and MAPE, and increase by 2.32%/3.63% and 2.19%/1.67% in R and R2, respectively. This model can reduce the risks of public health security due to excessive crowding of passengers (especially in the period of COVID-19), as well as reduce the negative impact on the environment through the optimization of traffic flows, and develop low-carbon transportation.
