Abstract:
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai budaya dan gaya bahasa dalam lirik lagu bahasa Kei Kecil Ning Nuhu Tanat Susbeb dan Duad Nbatang Imru. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitataif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah lirik lagu bahasa Kei yakni lagu Ning Nuhu Tanat Susbeb dan Duad Nbatang Imru.Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik cakap semuka, teknik catat, dan teknik rekam. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis jalinan atau mengalir yang meliputi tiga komponen, yaitu reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis ditemukan nilai budaya dalam lagu dalam lirik lagu Ning Nuhu Tanat Susbeb, yakni tidak melupakan kampung halaman dan mencintai orang tua . Lirik lagu Duad Nbatang Imru terapat nilai religius dan mencintai orang tua. Gaya bahasa yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu, yakni gaya bahasa perbandingan, gaya Bahasa pertautan, gaya bahasa perulangan. Pada gaya Bahasa perbandingan yaitu personifikasi, pada gaya Bahasa pertautan yaitu metonimia, sinakdoke serta gaya Bahasa perulangan yaitu aliterasi. Gaya Bahasa dalam lirik lagu Duad Nbatang Imru adalah gaya bahasa pertautan, gaya bahasa perulangan. Pada gaya bahasa pertautan yaitu metonimia serta gaya bahasa perulangan yaitu aliterasi.

Abstract:
A three-level Box-Behnken design of response surface methodology was employed to optimize the formulation of bukayo or coconut toffee based on overall acceptability sensory attribute. The independent variables were different levels of young coconut meat (250 – 500 g), sinakob (250 – 500 g), and coconut juice (250 – 500 g) with fifteen different runs of three similar center points. The analysis of variance showed that quadratically, coconut juice and sinakob showed significantly higher effect (p<0.05) on the overall acceptability of bukayo whereas the “Lack of Fit” was non-significant relative to the pure error. For optimization, the goal was to maximize the overall acceptability response. The optimum formulation conditions of 430 g young coconut meat, 400 g sinakob, and 340 g coconut juice yielded an experimental overall acceptability score of 8.04 which is close to the predicted score of 7.11 with composite desirability of 0.87 on a nine-point hedonic scale. The regression model equation for overall acceptability could predict response yield until at least 84.65% of accuracy. Box-Behnken design of RSM performed well in the optimization of the bukayo formulation with a very high degree of overall acceptability. The strong and positive correlations enable the application of colorimetry as an indication of the overall acceptability and sensory color of the bukayo product.

It is been clear that the students struggle to write in isiXhosa when they are either answering questions of writing expositional academic work. Thus, it become difficult when the students are expected to write cohesively, and with meaning. Additionally, to write in isiXhosa is vital these days especially where isiXhosa like other African languages can be used as languages of learning and teaching. The identified persisting problem from the institutions of higher learning, in particular African languages and teacher educations faculties with isiXhosa is that the preservice isiXhosa speaking students are not able to write in isiXhosa. This paper looked at the assignments produced by preservice teachers of isiXhosa both in 3rd and 4th years of the B.Ed programme. The study found that the preservice isiXhosa speaking students’ writing is not good at all. The students struggle to write in isiXhosa taking into account the grammar rules (morphemes) such as subject or object concords, sentence constructions with cohesion. This papers presents the results of the study done among the preservice teachers, where they have produced long essays in their modules. Furthermore, it looks at the work that has been done in isiXhosa to understand writing as a skill. Finaly the papers provides recommendations pertaining to teacher training, where there are preservice teachers being trained to teach isiXhosa.
