Benigni's zaniness and self-mockery seemed to embody everything that has convinced foreigners that Italians are, above all, brava gente (nice people). Sometimes, this conclusion can have a supercilious air – niceness can easily be reduced to levity or fecklessness. In those university courses that seek to comprehend the terrible tragedies of twentieth-century Europe, Italians seldom play a leading role. German, Russian, Polish, Yugoslav, and even British and French history are each riven with death and disaster or, alternatively, with heroism and achievement. In such austere company, brava gente can seem out of place.

Abstract:
Ennek feloszlása során a kilépő tagok megalapították a napjainkban is aktív Fratelli d’Italia – Alleanza Nazionale elnevezésű pártot, amelynek elnöke Giorgia Meloni. A tanulmány röviden bemutatja az említett pártok főbb elveit, majd azt a kérdést állítja középpontjába, hogy vajon a Fratelli d’Italia programját tekintve mennyiben tekinthető neofasiszta pártnak?

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
The gradual decadence of the Chilean society appears to be a constant presence and source of concern in the works of José Donoso and Silvio Caiozzi. This Doctoral Thesis is a research meant to point out in a detailed analysis and compa-rative study of the work of both authors, an underligned common thread affecting the Chi-lean society as experienced by Donoso and Caiozzi , and reflected in the lives of the indi-viduals in their works who interact in each of the distinctive labels assign to social structu-res in Chile : Aristocracy, Middle Class, and the Extreme Poor or Homeless. Donoso's and Caiozzi's works make evident the different aspects through which the theme if 'decadence' is present within the Chilean's historical context of the years between 1957 and 2004, that is also the time when the work " Corpus " was created and adapted, starting with Coronación (1957) and ending with the movie Cachimba (2004). In the First Part, we find a study done about the term 'decadence' and its many uses and interpretations through history - focusing mainly on the sociological aspect of historical knowledge - as well as a registry of the evolution of distinctive social groups since they first appeared in Chile, plus a general overview of the history of Chilean Filmaking and Literature, with a thorough revision of the works of José Donoso and Silvio Caiozzi. In the Second Part of this work, we find a detailed analysis of the authors, and a rigo-rous observation of their various works and expression of it as presented by them under the perspective of various interpretations emanated from the concept of decadence. Although we find great similarities in the works of both authors, we can also find a number of differing elements that seem to indicate that they also possessed very diverging points of view, that seems to escape at times, the non analytical reader of their work. José Donoso adopts a rather nostalgic, and somewhat pesimistic insight that harshly clinges to the concept of "decadence" as an irreversible and unescapable trap. On the other hand, Silvio Caiozzi's approach is definitely more optimistic in the sense that the lack of options presented by Donoso in his works, are replaced by a more optimistic vision of Caiozzi that is surrounded by strong elements of change, and a clear and more positive sense of Progress

Abstract:
This doctorate is mainly devoted to a political and cultural biography of Silvio Trentin, who was an Italian professor in law and deputy. He left Italy in 1926 after 5 years spent in Venetia fighting against Mussolini's accession to the power and lived in exile in Gascony then in Toulouse. It is based on new records and recent research works about Silvio Trentin's various dimensions : he was an eminent bookseller, an analyst of fascism, political leader of "Giustizia e Libertà" and believed in the United States of Europe. It throws a light on his activities within his numerous networks of friends : Italian "fuorusciti", the political leaders and the intellectuals during the period between the Twenties and the Forties. It emphazises the analysis of a jurist who theorized the concepts of autonomy and "internal Federalism" (see N. Bobbio) with Proudhon as a reference. It aims at a better knowledge of his role as an inspirator of the resistance movement called "Libérer et Fédérer" which was created in Toulouse in 1942

Abstract:

____________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
The present thesis discusses the content of the Left Wing candidacy victorious in Presidential elections in South America. More specifically, it analyzes the Capital and Labor relationship found at the electoral programs, trying to explain why it is different from the Left Wing traditional view. To accomplish that, it was done a comparative study of the candidacies of Luis Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil in 2002 and of Tabaré Ramon Rosas Vázquez in Uruguay in 2004. The definition of Left used was based on Bobbio (2001), which associates left to egalitarianism and right to inequity. Throughout the analyzes, the Left concept was redefined in order to fit on the purpose of this thesis. The empirical object analyzed was the relation Capital/Labor, used as an indicator of the political identity of the candidacies. The main conclusion of the thesis is that both candidacies consider the relation Capital/Labor in a very close way, and suggest the necessity of a wide social pact towards the overcome the conflicts. Once this conclusion was established, the idea of uncontrollability of the capital of Mészaros (2002) was used as a theoretical explanation to the findings.

Antonio Silvino, "From Governor of backwoods to Governor of Detention" (1875-1944) is a work that came from the desire to understand who the “cangaceiro” Antonio Silvino was, from the vision of newspapers that were read by an educated class and the “cordéis” that had reached a population of little education. This study aimed to construct a biography, in which I tried to be aware of the nomination given in the documents related to the bandit, the historical context and the representations assigned to the newspapers from Recife, the public documents and the “cordéis” by Francisco das Chagas Batista and Leandro Gomes de Barros, in each stage that I described Antonio Silvino‟s life. The exercise now presented does not cover the whole subject of his biography, it would be an impossible thing to do, as well as the writing of history is an interim response about the past, and so is the biographical writing. I wanted to perform a theoretical and methodological discussion based on studies of cultural history and the construction of biographies, which are already being debated since the 1970s. This work is divided into four chapters. The first presents the historical context in which Manuel Baptista de Moraes was born, Antonio Silvino‟s real name. In the second, I analyze the actions of the bandit from 1900 on, when he takes on as the head of a gang, until his arrest in 1914. The third one is about the spectacle that was made about his arrest and on the individuals who acted on it. The fourth chapter focuses Silvino‟s routine in the Casa de Detenção in Recife, analyzing his behavior changes and his desires in jail, concluding with his freedom and the ending of his days in 1944, in the city of Campina Grande - PB. The research has shown the possibility of understanding the “cangaceiro” beyond the image of hero and villain, „cause reconstruct the fragmented life of this cangaceiro” allowed a visualization of this man from a human‟s point of view and realize that he was a man with a political nature.
Abstract:
The analysis of metals is now a major application area for ICP-AES, however, the technique suffers from both spectral and non-spectral interferences. This thesis details the application of univariate and multivariate calibration methods for the prediction of Pt, Pd, and Rh in acid-digested and of Au, Ag and Pd in fusion-digested autocatalyst samples. Of all the univariate calibration methods investigated matrix matching proved the most accurate method with relative root mean square errors (RRMSEs) for Pt, Pd and Rh of 2.4, 3.7, and 2.4 % for a series of synihelic lest solutions, and 12.0, 2.4, and 8.0 % for autocatalyst samples. In comparison, the multivariate calibration method (PLSl) yielded average relative errors for Pt, Pd, and RJi of 5.8, 3.0, and 3.5 % in the test solutions, and 32.0, 7.5, and 75.0 % in the autocatalyst samples. A variable selection procedure has been developed enabling multivariate models to be built using large parts of the atomic emission spectrum. The first stage identified and removed wavelengths whose PLS regression coefficients were equal to zero. The second stage ranked the remaining wavelengths according to their PLS regression coefficient and estimated standard error ratio. The algorithms were applied to the emission spectra for the determination of Pt, Pd and Rh in a synthetic matrix. For independent test samples variable selection gave RRMSEs of 5.3, 2.5 and 1.7 % for Pt, Pd and Rh respectively compared with 8.3, 7.0 and 3.1 % when using integrated atomic emission lines. Variable selection was then applied for the prediction of Au, Ag and Pd in independent test fusion digests. This resulted in RRMSEs of 74.2, 8.8 and 12.2 % for Au, Ag and Pd respectively which were comparable to those obtained using a more traditional univariate calibration approach. A preliminary study has shown that calibration drift can be corrected using Piecewise Direct Standardisation (PDS). The application of PDS to synthetic test samples analysed 10 days apart resulted in RRMSEs of 4.14, 3.03 and 1.88%, compared to 73.04, 44.39 and 28.06 % without correction, for Pt, Pd, and Rh respectively.

______________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
This work had as study object the set of educational sports policies, organized since 2003 by the Federal Government. So its goal was confined to the need to analyze the configuration and the articulation of these initiatives in the context of Brazilian sports policy. Therefore, such an investigation is within the range of social research explanatory character, whose methodological design sits in the analysis of proposed public policies developed by Boschetti (2009). However, as the specifics [goals] research, this analysis model was adapted, emphasizing thus the indicator which accounts for the "conception of politics." Data collection and formatting of the theoretical and conceptual framework resulted in procedures that bring together bibliographic and documentary research. Discussions and problematizations ensuing were developed according to the technique of content analysis. In this direction, to the first chapter fit the panoramic presentation of the current agenda of Brazilian sports policy. In the second, as a "return to the past", the historical review was prioritized that seeks to understand the participation of education policy, Physical Education and sport in the state modernization process and the Brazilian economy. In the third chapter, in turn, the analysis of the set of educational sports policies, which translates into the Second Half Program was developed; the program Forces in Sport; Discovery of the Action Sports Talent and Project Sport Brazil; in the School Sports Program; Athlete in the School Program; and the Brazilian School Games. The analysis shows mismatches and inconsistencies between the logical and conceptual, technical and operational model. With repercussions important in realization of the right to sport. And it points [still] the lack of a [clear] setting on the government course of action - which can be seen from the large variety of senses and meanings assumed by the educational sports policies. Facts that assume the need for construction/operation of an educational form of the sport that implies recognize it as a social right and a cultural indispensable to human experience.

This thesis is a study on the representation of homosexual subjetc in brazilian literature in late twetieth century. The corpus analysed is composed for a group of three writers: Caio Fernando Abreu, Silviano Santiago and Jaó Gilberto Noll. Starting from a semiotic reflexion about images of male homosexuality, we intended to demonstrate that male gay character is represented in literarture as a marginalised subjetc. Afterwards, with postmodernity, we verified that there is a kind of metamorphosis whereby this subject is described in an opposite way, different from that mentioned before. We used semiotic theory in order to prove that the gay subject in brazilian literature is coherent with the subject propose for postmodern theories. Other important issue o four research work is the compilation of a corpus os literary texts united around the homoerotic question. Althought our research effort be concentrated around three specific writers, we tried to reach a great amount of other writers who worked with the homosexual question in Brazil, since nineteenth century until our days. Our main goal was identify the rethoric strategies used by these authors and prove that is possible to see what we named of the “rethoric of poetization”. Other goal was understand how these writers elaborated their own homoerotic style in writing. After analysis of the chosen texts, we might conclude that the three authors have different strategies in order to expose the situation of this homoerotic subject in brazilian literature

Abstract:
Using unpublished documents, this volume restores the meeting between two masters in a historical and ideal way: Norberto Bobbio and Silvio Trentin. Through the writings which Bobbio dedicated to Trentin between 1954 and 1991, the readers are introduced to Trentin’s world. They gradually discover Trentin’s exemplary biography, his clear moral personality and his commitment to anti-fascism and the Resistance, as well as the great themes of his work as a jurist and political thinker: the criticism of fascism, federalism and the idea of the 'third way'. As Bobbio observes, the fundamental reason why Trentin represents a still valuable example is that, through his life and thought, he has perfectly embodied the conception of politics as a desire of justice, as opposed to the will to dominate.

Abstract:
The paper aims at dealing with didactics of Resistance through the relationship between the historical wtnesses and younger generations. As the first has lived the historical events he is going to narrate, younger generations constitute ideally the depositary of a rich and fragile set of informations. Based from this perspective, the paper is going to speak about a students' cycle of meetings organised in some schools in the province of Pistoia, between 2016 and 2018: the vocational institute "Martini" and the technical institute "Marchi". Meetings were held by SIlvano Sarti, who fought as partisan in the "Brigata Sinigaglia" in 1944 and who was appointed ANPI provincial president in Florence.

Abstract:
Abstract This chapter interprets director Vincente Minnelli as a different kind of costar for Judy Garland, one who was as given to camp as Mickey Rooney, but who turned that dimension into a kind of loving, liberating frame in their six filmic collaborations across the 1940s: Babes on Broadway (1941; “ghost theater” sequence), Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), The Clock (1945), Ziegfeld Follies (1946), Till the Clouds Roll By (1947; “Look for the Silver Lining” and “Who”), and The Pirate (1948). In part, Minnelli freed Garland from not only Busby Berkeley’s frame-breaking style of camp, but also from song itself, as her performances in the middle films from this series aim increasingly for a kind of actorly realism. Notably, however, this more actorly element is itself framed by an overarching camp sensibility, emerging directly out of camp in their first collaboration and never quite escaping its gravitational pull, as camp reasserts itself with a vengeance in their final collaboration. Indeed, this reassertion of a strong, self-aware camp sensibility makes this film crucial to Minnelli’s status as an auteur.

Abstract:
The Romanian-Ukrainian folklore dialogue started in the 50s of the 19th century and lasted until 1985. Publishing houses in the Republic of Moldova published five editions of stories, two books containing stories by the author and a volume of paremiological creation. From a numerical point of view, the contribution of Ukraine is about the same: five editions of stories, a collection of proverbs and sayings, a compartment of popular creation from four texts included in the book Songs of Moldova, trilingual edition: Romanian, Ukrainian and Russian and another compartment (seven legends and eight stories) placed in the Кодрii collection, which is, widely spoken, intended for prose. The texts of the stories are intended for young school and preschool age, the paremiological creation and the songs are addressed to the mature reader. The editions are distinguished by the quality of the translation, a good polygraphic execution, and the Ukrainian production grows by a solid number of copies: from 5 thousand to 200 thousand.

Abstract:
Currently, an alien fish species, the silver Prussian carp Carassius gibelio is widespread in almost all reservoirs of Belarus due to its high competitiveness. The introduction of silver Prussian carps in commercial reservoirs of the Republic caused significant replacement of the native species, the crucian carp. Potentially, alien helminth species introduced in water bodies by the silver Prussian carp have affected the crucian carp population. The helminth fauna of the silver Prussian carp in Belarussian water bodies is represented by 16 species: 1 nematode species (genus Philometroides Yamaguti, 1935), 2 cestode species (1 of the genus Neogryporhynchus Baeret Bona, 1960, and 1 of the genus Khawia Hsu, 1935); 6 monogeneas (4 of the genus Dactylogyrus Diesing, 1850; 1 of the genus Gyrodactylus Nordmann, 1832, and 1 of the genus Diplozoon Nordmann, 1832); 7 trematode species (1 of the genus Rhipidocotyle Diesing, 1858, 2 of the genus Posthodiplostomum Dubois, 1936, 1 of the genus Diplostomum Nordmann, 1832, 1 of the genus Ichthyocotylurus Odening, 1969, 1 of the genus Paracoenogonimus Katsurada, 1914, and 1 of the genus Tylodelphys Diesing, 1850). The helminth fauna of the crucian carp is represented by 13 species: 1 acanthocephalan species (genus Acanthocephalus Koelreuter, 1771); 1 nematode species (genus Camallanus Railliet et Henry, 1915); 3 cestode species (1 of the genus Caryophyllaeus Gmelin, 1790, and 2 of the genus Khawia Hsu, 1935); 3 monogeneas (1 of the genus Dactylogyrus Diesing, 1850, 1 of the genus Gyrodactylus Nordmann, 1832, and 1 of the genus Diplozoon Nordmann, 1832); and 5 trematode species (1 of the genus Echinochasmus Dietz, 1909, 1 of the genus Paracoenogonimus Katsurada, 1914, 1 of the genus Tylodelphys Diesing, 1850, 1 of the genus Allocreadium Looss, 1900, and 1 of the genus Phyllodistomum Braun, 1899). The helminth fauna had low similarity (4 species) in the silver Prussian carp when compared with the crucian carp.

Abstract:
In dialectology, the phonogram archive represents a corpus of dialectal texts recorded with the aid of technical means (phonograph, gramophone, pathephone, tape recorder, etc.) and stored on various media such as tapes or discs. It is a way of presenting and preserving dialectal facts. From 1899, sound archives were created in Vienna, Zürich, Paris, Bucharest. The Chisinau „Phonogram Archive of Dialectal Speech” was made up between 1957 and 1965, during the „Moldavian Linguistic Atlas” survey. The archive’s collection, including dialectal speech samples recorded in Romanian-speaking communities of the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, contributes to complete the image of the Romanian language, considered under the aspect of its diatopic, as well as diastratic or diaphasic variation, but it can also be used as a documentary source for the research of many other problems of linguistics, ethnography, folkloristics, history, etc. These sound documents are elements of Romanian and European cultural heritage that need to be protected, exploited and highly valued.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Academic novel is by definition a cultural enterprise, but it can properly surprise the hostility of an extremely hierarchical environment. Concepts, ideas and archetypes are preserved and melted in the literary substance even with the help of irony and pastiche. Or, better said, irony and pastiche are means of avoiding the hostility of a milieu blocked in stereotypes and snobbery. Kingsley Amis’s novel ”Lucky Jim” absorbs modernist cultural ingredients in order to demythologize them in a postmodern fashion. Anyway, it seems that the process of demythization implies the subsequent process of re-mythization. The cultural heritage is unavoidable in the last phase of postmodernism. In 1975 we can hardly speak about cultural aphasia. The individual with a postmodernist Weltanschauung plays the satirical role of the knight errant in search of falsified (dragonized) modernist mentalities and cultural options. This paper will analyse the risks and methods of demythization and the reverse process in an attempt to understand the cultural logic of antimodernist approaches.

Abstract:
Spectra of the 3dto 2p, 3p to 2p, 3s to 2p, and 3p to 2s transitions of silver in the neonlike charge state are presented. The spectra have been obtained using a high resolution, curved-crystal Bragg spectrometer on the Princeton large torus tokamak. The silver was injected into the plasma via laser blow-off techniques. The electron temperature and density were ~3 keV and 5 × 1013 cm−3, respectively. The wavelengths of the silver lines have been determined relative to the L α and K α lines of argon which were recorded simultaneously with the silver spectra. The results for the wavelengths and line intensities are compared to theoretical predictions.

Abstract:
A surface plasmon resonance (SPR) occurs when a thin metal film on the hypotenuse of a prism is illuminated with p-polarized light beyond the critical angle under conditions that permit the coupling into a surface plasmon, a progressive wave bound to the outer metal surface. The shape and angular position of the resonance are very sensitive functions of the conditions at the metal surface and have been used by many people to measure the properties of thin over-layers or contamination, and in the characterization of chemical and biological processes1,2,3. Here we use it to probe environmentally induced changes in a silver layer that has been treated with a thin copper layer. In the probing of biomembranes by a surface plasmon resonance technique, the silver layers that support the plasmon are exposed to an aqueous phase. This exposure eventually leads to a deterioration of the silver, limiting its useful life. In the study of silver coatings for astronomical applications, Song discovered that an enhanced environmental resistance resulted from the incorporation of a copper underlayer4. Evidence supported the proposed mechanism of cathodic protection of the silver by copper that had migrated along the grain boundaries to the outer surface. This present contribution examines the effectiveness of a very thin copper layer deposited directly over the silver film in the SPR sensor.

Abstract:
Various types of thin film designs which incorporate silver metal are well known. The chemical and mechanical durability of these films is usually poor. This fact limits the practical application of the films. A new process has been developed which allows the use of silver metal in various types of thin film designs such as wide-band anti-reflecting and wide-band high reflecting films. This paper describes the patented process and designs used to deposit these film stacks.

Abstract:
This paper explores a disciplinary feud between theoretical figures of 20th century architectural discourse, and discovers an overlooked and forgotten architectural discourse on the city. The participants of the feud included Nathan Silver and Charles Jencks (authors of Adhocism) on one side of the fight, Colin Rowe and Fred Koetter (authors of “Collage City”) on the other, and Reyner Banham who entered the fray in the middle as a mediator. While the feud was quite stinging—it consisted of an accusation of plagiarism from Nathan Silver—it was completely forgotten. This was because the fight occurred in the letters to the editor section of Architectural Review in 1975, with each jab and blow delayed across three different editions. Yet it is worth looking at since it links these two unexpectedly comparable projects—namely Adhocism and Collage City—with a very unlikely yet similar third project brought into the discussion by Reyner Banham. This third project was Hubert de Cronin Hastings’s theory he described as a Radical Picturesque which he details as an architectural manifesto for designing and reconstructing the post war English city. Radical Picturesque was described in Hastings’s article “Townscape” and published in Architectural Review in 1949. The article’s namesake and surface-level ideas lead to Gordon Cullen’s book The Concise Townscape (which was indeed inspired by Hastings’s original article), but it can be argued that the original text coupled with Banham’s link to Adhocism and “Collage City,” was not fully nor sufficiently realized in Cullen’s book or subsequent iterations of the Townscape movement. These three theories for the design of the city, when looked at together, has the potential to shed new light on 20th century architectural discourse on the city. This paper seeks to illuminate the original ideas that were a part of the Radical Picturesque in order to reinsert an architectural project on the city that was lost to dominant postwar architectural discourse.
