Abstract:
In this article, we analyse the factors influencing homeowners' plans to renovate their houses in the near future. We also examine their interest in the idea of a one-stop shop where a single actor provides services and all necessary information required for energy efficiency renovations. Our analysis is based on the content of an online survey questionnaire of 12194 homeowners in Sweden. Approximately 83% of the respondents intend to renovate in the near future, with around 55% opting for energy-efficient renovation of their dwelling. Environmental concerns, past energy-saving measures taken by the respondents, and education positively influenced their renovation plans. While 28% of respondents expressed their interest in a one-stop shop, work guarantee, environmental concerns and renovation plans were the main elements affecting interest in the one-stop shop.

Abstract:
"Genuine Cherry Red" is a fiction novel. It is the story of three people who live in a house beside a hill in the flattest place on earth - an almost fable-like setting. In different ways, each is locked inside the order and control they have constructed through the years. Surrounded by nature and its reliable cycle, they are resisting change and denying the unpredictable randomness of life. Marta is a young woman who is both intelligent and naïve, caught inside a private maze of thinking and rethinking. She lives with her mother's cousin Ena who gave up nursing to take Marta in when her mother succumbed to depression, and Ena' s husband Len, a successful and prolific writer of cowboy fiction. Since a cancer diagnosis, Len - who had been living with multiple sclerosis - has been virtually catatonic ... until Grey Bob suddenly arrives. The central character of Len's fictional stories permeates their lives and things begin to change. The natural environment, the people of the nearby town, the order of the house all transform and Marta, Ena and Len struggle to cope. But they have no choice. When the inevitable shifts occur, spontaneous events have impact and disease progresses, each member of the family eventually finds a way to deal with the fact that reality can be haphazard and out of their control. So, through the presence of a fictional character, three people are forced to confront the erratic nature of human life.

The area is located in the north part of Brno (Řečkovice a Mokrá Hora) and is surrounded by a housing estate. To the south of this area is a complex of former barracks. In our project we propose to use the area as a residential district with public amenities. Sports ground and the park are included. Currently there are terraced houses and separated family houses. We especially use low-floor blocks of houses with no more than four floors. Orientation of the blocks corresponds with the fact that this area is on the north slope. Family houses with gardens are situated on the east side of the area. The area is accessible from the Žilkova street (on the east) and from the Terezy Novákové street (on the west) – buildings on this street make a noise barrier. The square of our area is next to this street and represents a public place with public amenities (for example a retirement house and a school of art), underground car park and a pedestrian precint leading to the park. A tram stop is nearby. Sports ground and the park are situated in the north part of the area. In the central part we find the kindergarten. Underground car parks for the residents are under the blocks and its courtyards.

This paper aims at exploring the uti lization and readjustment of space of traditional stores in fac e of the modern life. Traditional stores are common in rural Taiwan in earlier times, and many of them are still there being occupied and used. As they are usually traditional in style, this paper attempts to explore t he ways of utilization and readjustment of space in these stores t o meet the demands and habits of modern life. In the selection of targets, it has been focused on the buildings located in Pei men Street, Hsinchu, as it is one of the oldest streets in town and was t he CBD during the Manchurian occupation in the Ching Dynasty when many rural stores stood on both sides of street selling or transiting goods from Hong Kong; therefore people built many stores on both sides of the street. To date many old stores in various styles are still there being occupied and used, so they are selected as targets of the present resea rch on the utilization and readjustment of space in traditional stores. Since the space of traditional stores is unable to satisfy the modern needs, users may utilize the spa ce in different units in a manner different from the past. In this paper, the space of a traditional store will be classified in the following five units: kiosk, store, center court, housing and backyard. The uses and specific phenome na of these units are analyzed and recorded. Through onsi te inspection and record of buildings and interviews with users, a p reliminary understanding of space utilization of different units has been main tained, and we have then focused on the readjustment of space of these buildings to satisfy modern needs. As the utilization of space of tr aditional stores is unable to satisfy the modern demand for living qualit y, different degrees of readjustment of space is necessary as an improvement when these traditional stores are used. According to the onsite observation and afterward analyses, the present research has classifie d the readjustments of the targets into four categories: reconstruc tion, partial expansion, partial renovation, and deduction and additio n of the original structure to enable the use of modern home appliances and facilities. From the viewpoint of the modern use of traditional stores, different users may readjust the space in a different manner to satisfy individ ual needs and status, which subsequently will cause different impacts o n traditional stores, including the original form and style, as well as the structure and user. From the viewpoint of traditional stores, the significance of space readjustment means to satisfy the needs of modern users, whether desperate or not, so that the readjustment is achieved at the most possible choices and the least impacts; while other impro vements of less desperate needs will be postponed or replaced with simpler management.

With the highest density of convenience stores in the world, the severe competition of this industry in Taiwan is no surprise. The marketing campaign initiated by 7-ELEVEn’s "Entire-Shop Marketing Event" since Apr 2005 is far from cease. The investment of Entire-Shop Marketing Event takes up to hundreds of millions (NTD) that few convenience store chains can continuously invest; however, FamilyMart is never absent from this game and the author is lucky enough to participate in the planning and implementation of its Entire-Shop Marketing Event. In Jul 2007, with the introduction of “Chinese God Figures” designed by DEM, FamilyMart set the record of giving away 4.1 million figures. The statistic figures that FamilyMart earned monthly revenue of over 3 billion for three consecutive months, while the main competitor 7-ELEVEn’s revenue declined for five consecutive months, show how the main theme of Entire-Shop Marketing Event directly affect the transfer of customers. This research explores six marketing projects of FamilyMart, through literature analysis and case study, and the author hereby proposes the theoretical framework:” Value House Model: the innovative strategy of Entire-Shop Marketing Event”. The model consists of one core strategy: ”THEME”, three deign dimensions: “total sense of life”, “style ideas”, “synergistic integration”, and two performance dimensions: ”operation performance” and “brand value”. The structure of these dimensions is as follows: 1.“THEME” is the key factor to success of Entire-Shop Marketing Event. Themes that are closer to consumers’ life experiences are more likely to arouse their interest and resonance, which in turn increases its visibility and media coverage, and thus brand awareness and revenues. 2.The interpretation of the theme combines culture and creativity, and is presented in a modern, stylish design. The consumers will find it innovative and fun, which brings positive effect to brand image and brand awareness. 3.Entire-Shop Marketing Event spans a wide range of aspects, including theme, gifts, design, communications, process, materials, regulations, transport and etc., that it requires great ability of resource integration to bring synergistic effects. 4.Same/similar themes and gifts may effectively attract consumers’ participation through different packaging. Nevertheless, the question if the effect is progressively decreasing for sure could serve as directions for future research.

Street, witness the history of the city! The purpose of this paper is to create a new interpretation of the Sanshia Old Street, which is gradually neglected, by the creation of three-dimensional cards. After the war, Taiwan began to pursue the results of urbanization, traditional architecture, market, street, railway, due to commercial development, urban renewal and recycling, to promote that dozens of full of historical scoring of the walls, with the passage of time , One by one demolition, collapse, a series of additional construction, reconstruction, alteration, street gradually updated, the city after two successive changes, with the symbol of historical memory of the "ancient house" constantly erased from the front, people on the history of memory texture Gradually fade away. I hope that through the soft card design appeal, to attract outsiders to the old times of humanities, old architectural background, the old social appearance, there is a deeper exploration of the will. This study mainly discusses the design and application of the Sanshia Old Street building in the design of three-dimensional card, through the literature analysis of the architectural structure of the street to integrate; dismantling its building facades, doors and windows, plus businessmen, vendors, car and other human elements Deconstruction and reorganization, through the elevation level to interpret the inner cultural connotation of the Sanshia, deepen the concept of the people on the street building. In addition, the three-dimensional card created by the atmosphere of appeal and fun, but also for the value of goods culture to bring innovation. In the design practice, for the new North City, the Sanshia Civilization Street, a total of 103 buildings to do field investigation and shooting records, including the street environment, architectural appearance, arcade interface to image processing as a creative base, supplemented by the overall street elements such as: street Map, street vendors, car furniture, cultural elements of the "virtual" extraction, refining, graphic structure of the analysis into the commodity "real", and gradually collect the integration of the material composition of the finished product. The study summarizes the following three conclusions: (A) any subject matter can be re-organization creation, especially boring dull, complex and cumbersome objects can be visual art through the visual three-dimensional approach to cause concern. (B) three-dimensional form of multiple, medium and diverse, old street building theme to three-dimensional card for the creation of media through the paper structure for the dismantling, structure, cultural environment re-interpretation, free from tradition. (C) through the visual image of the appeal; the designer can not limit the existing form, and even media present situation theme and related elements, images, background, culture, in line with the original intention of creation. (4) Even if the creation should be based on knowledge, the process through the literature, in the creation of cultural meaning, field investigation and analysis, you can clarify the various areas of expertise, characteristics and similarities and differences in order to design The creation of a more solid and solid.

During of the last years of Ching dynasty, Lu-Kan had been a ferry to Quanzhou, the economic exchanges precipitated a large of Quanzhou of people immigration flow to Lu-Kan, but also brought custom, the cultural background, industrial economic and house form from original habitation to Lu-Kan. Notably, “shop house” which has width of short, the length of longwise, and having the sharing wall was brought to Lu-Kan.“The combination function for both dwelling and business”of building was also become the main characteristic. However, restricted by political factors in Japanese ruling period and KMT governed time and changed by geographical condition and social-economic, the exchange chance had died out between China and Taiwan. Moreover, while two places are urban renewal, those traditional shop house were transformed into foreign facade of “arcade shop-house”. When “arcade shop-houses” in the two places were developed, those could be changed because of political, society, environment, industry culture. It might influenced those houses difference which belong to Fujian cultural circle in the two places. Based on the background, this research attempts to discuss the street house in the two places between Lu-Kan and Quanzhou. Through practical measurement and interview, and treat local factors containing building laws, foreign culture, and life mode. To analyze differences and changes arcade space, space construction, and floor construction in the two places. This research in the current stage includes the following three points: (1)Two places building laws have principle of “adapting local culture ”, cause in the two places “arcade shop-house” size difference, when they want to build from thought of adaptation local culture or natural environment. There is always occupancy and not go through, because of the arcade of land belong to privatization, cause arcade space which Publicly-owned or Privately-owned be obscured in two places of the future. (2)Foreign culture influence arcade building constructed, cause many foreign facade stand on the street in the two places. Lu-Kan was influenced by Japan''s culture; Quanzhou was influenced by culture of Nan Yang. But they were internationalized finally, so the facade form became more and more simple. (3)The indoor plane space planned of shop houses were influenced by use mode in the two places, especially “business behavior” and “dwelling behavior”, cause plans of two places is differet. In addition, the indoor plane plans still protect from traditional Chinese ethics meaning.

A Study on the Shop-house of Southern Fuijian Style - A Case of “Arcade Building” on Zhongshan South Road in Quanzhou City, Fuijian Province - By Chu. Chi-Ming Thesis Supervisor: Chih-Kao Nieh, Ph.D. Department of Architecture & Interior Design National Yunlin University of Science and Technology Abstract In the development of traditional houses in China, shop-house with arcade is a characteristic type, which is a building type combining shop and residence referring that architectural culture combining economy and living at that time. Currently, studies regarding to “arcade shop-house” houses are mostly concerned those in Fuijian and Kwangtung Provinces, and mostly concentrated on the historical investigation, current situation of overall building, and ways of preservation and renewal. However, the discussion on spatial composition, composition of facade, form of construction is very insufficient. Because the transportation and trading relationship between Quanzhou and Lukang had been started since the Qian-Long period in Chin Dynasty, Quanzhou played a significant role to the development of Taiwan. Furthermore, most of the immigrants to Taiwan are from Quanzhou, therefore the research objective is to investigate the street buildings appeared along Zhongshan South Road in the coastal Jin-Jiang area of Quanzhou, and to realize the spatial composition, composition of façade, and form of construction of the street buildings shaped by local commercial system, and to create a basis for comparative research of street buildings between Taiwan and Mainland China. There are four substantial research purposes as follows: (1) to establish the type of spatial composition of “arcade shop-house”, (2) to analyze the relationship between building floor area and the spatial composition, (3) to establish the form and character of facade, and (4) to realize the type and character of construction. The surveyed area is located at the Zhongshan South Road at Licheng Area, which has the densest “arcade shop-houses” in Quanzhou downtown area. Three field surveys were made from August 2003 to January 2005. 54 buildings are selected for analyzing. Four conclusions are made as follows: 1. The shop-houses at the area could be divided by their uses into two categories, "residential-and- commercial" and "commercial only". The "residential-and-commercial" shop-houses are widely seen. Most of those buildings were developed vertically and becoming “shop on bottom and residence on top”. Embodying the circulations of goods and residents, the circulation system is typically "straight-on-one-side" type. Furthermore, the combination of shop and worship hall was another character of spatial combination of the shop-house at the area. 2. The depths of shop-house near the Shunjiqiao port at the front section of Zhongshan South Road are triple of the shop-house in the middle section. In the front section, the commercial space on the ground level, in addition to the shop at front, are mostly arranged as "workshop" or "warehouse". Comparatively, most of the shop-houses at the end section are only one-house depth because of the limit of site depth. The ground floors are usually used as "shop". Some shop-houses are two-bay- wide in order to enlarge commercial spaces. 3. The four major types of the facades were "post-free", "giant post", "superimposition", and “eclecticism”, in which "superimposition" was the most popular type, with "parapet" on top, "flat arch opening" at the body, and "lintel beam" on the base. And thus shapes the main character of "arcade shop-house" in Quanzhou. 4. The most popular roof truss of shop-house were the combination of RC with "laying-beam system", and had certain association with the execution of urban reform plan. Furthermore, “brick walls” were the most popular way to connect roof and wall, and its wall finishing adopted “painting” and “surface brick” in stead.
