Estudaram-se aspectos associados à esporulação de B. sacchari e à reação de diversas variedades de cana-de-açúcar ao patógeno, em condições de casa-de-vegetação e campo. Avaliou-se o efeito dos meios de cultura (BDA batata, dextrose agar; CLA - folha de cana, agar e LCH lactose, caseína hidrolizada, agar), e três regimes de luz (contínua, alternada e escuro contínuo) sobre a esporulação do fungo. Observou-se que, independente do meio de cultura, escuro contínuo inibiu e luz contínua ou alternada induziu a produção de esporos, sob a luz contínua o melhor meio foi o LCH e sob luz alternada os meios não diferiram entre si; diferença entre luz contínua e alternada foi observada somente dentro do meio BDA, com maior esporulação sob luz alternada. A reação das variedades foi obtida inoculando-se as plantas com uma suspensão de 2,0 x 104 esporos por ml. Procederam-se as avaliações utilizando-se de uma escala de notas de 1 a 5, baseada nos sintomas foliares, com as médias das notas classificadas entre altamente resistente e aItamante suscetível. Observou-se, nos três ensaios, alterações nas reações de algumas variedades, causadas provavelmente por pequenas variações nas condições de ambiente. Discutiram-se as vantagens da condução de testes de resistência à mancha ocular em casa de vegetação em relação aos testes de campo. Sugeriu-se a adoção de medidas preventivas de controle, principalmente nos locais onde a doença ocorre com maior frequência.<br>Some aspects related to the sporulation of B. Sacchari"in vitro"and the reaction of some varieties of sugarcane to the pathogen in greenhouse and field conditions were studied in this work. The pathogen was cultivated in three culture media (PDA - potato, dextrose, agar: CLA - cane leaf, agar and LHC - lactose, hidrolised caseine, agar) under three light regimens (continuous light, alternate light and continuous darkness). The results showed that (1) the continuous darkness inhibited and the continuous light and alternate light promoted the sporulation, in the three media tested; (2) under continuous light LHC was better than PDA and CLA, and under alternate light the media were not different statistically, and (3) difference between continuous light and alternate light was observed only in the PDA medium with better sporulation under alternate light. The variety reactions were obtained by inoculating them with 2,0 x 104 spores/ml inoculum suspension. The evaluation was made by using a 1 - 5 note scale based on foliar symptons, classified from highly resistent to highly susceptible. Some varieties showed different reactions on the tests conducted, probably caused by little variation on the ambient conditions. The advantages of conducting eye spot resistance testing in greenhouse over field conditions were discussed. The adoption of preventive measures in order to control the eye spot, specially on those regions the disease frequently occurs, were also suggested

Tableau d'honneur de la Faculté des études supérieures et postdorales, 2015-2016<br>Le paysage philosophique en théorie de l’action contemporaine est largement façonné par l’argument de l’exclusion causale de Jaegwon Kim. Cet argument menace apparemment le physicalisme non réductionniste, position ontologique qui affirme l’irréductibilité des propriétés mentales aux propriétés physiques. C’est qu’il mène à la conclusion que les propriétés mentales sont soit des propriétés physiques, soit des épiphénomènes. J’examine une tentative récente et prétendument non réductionniste d’éviter les conclusions de l’argument de l’exclusion causale, soit la théorie de la réalisation par sous-ensembles de Shoemaker. Cette théorie espère remplacer le fonctionnalisme en tant que conception dominante des rapports psychophysiques. Je tente de prouver qu’elle échappe aux critiques de Kim seulement au prix de l’abandon du non-réductionnisme. En effet, si la perspective de Shoemaker a le mérite d’éliminer la surdétermination habituellement associée aux effets psychophysiques, elle ne reconnaît toutefois pas l’existence de pouvoirs causaux proprement mentaux.

The present study examined the role of the Korean
ethnic press in Australia with special reference to the
ways in which their professional backgrounds shaped the
construction of the news content of their newspapers.
The study sample consisted of six Korean ethnic
newspapers produced in Sydney. Both intrinsic and
extrinsic factors relevant to the role of journalists
were identified in interviews with the editors and
publishers. The overall news content was analyzed through
quantitative and qualitative content analysis.
The principal finding of this study was that none of
Shoemaker's (1987) theoretical statements about how
economic factors shape news content could be applied to
the Korean ethnic press in Australia. Despite their
reliance on commercial sources for their economic
survival, all six papers devoted more space to issue oriented
news than to event-oriented news, and were not
responsive to their readers and advertisers in
Shoemaker's terms. Journalistic professionalism as
discussed by Henningham (1989) also was treated as a less
important factor by Korean ethnic newspaper staff. Rather
the professional identity of the ethnic press editors and
publishers was grounded in the culture of their local
community instead of in the mainstream standards of
It is concluded that Korean ethnic newspapers in
Australia have more pragmatic criteria both for the
selection of their news content, and for the professional
standards of their newspaper staff.

O objetivo geral est? norteado pelos seguintes objetivos espec?ficos: a) Identificar quais s?o as a??es de precifica??o adotadas pelos empreendimentos hoteleiros; b) Classificar as estrat?gias utilizadas, segundo o modelo de Shoemaker (2003); c) Propor um conjunto de sugest?es para os hot?is analisados. O referencial te?rico desse trabalho baseia-se no estudo das principais publica??es nacionais e internacionais sobre setor hoteleiro, marketing, estrat?gias de precifica??o e valor. A metodologia aplicada apresenta car?ter descritivo com abordagem qualitativa de dados, que almeja obter resultados atrav?s da realiza??o de entrevistas semiestruturadas, pesquisa bibliogr?fica e documental. O estudo tem como p?blico-alvo, gerentes e propriet?rios de 12 (doze) hot?is de m?dio e grande porte localizados na cidade de Natal/RN e na praia de Pipa/RN, por serem os dois destinos tur?sticos mais visitados no Estado e, por conseguinte, possu?rem o maior parque hoteleiro. O cronograma das atividades de pesquisa iniciou-se no 1? semestre do ano de 2014 finalizando em junho do ano de 2016, onde os dados obtidos foram devidamente analisados a partir do modelo te?rico escolhido para valida??o dessa pesquisa. Diante da pesquisa, observou-se a utiliza??o de estrat?gias de precifica??o e itens valorativos no trade hoteleiro do p?blico analisado, corroborando assim, com taxas expressivas de ocupa??o.<br>This study aims to research, analyze the pricing strategies adopted by medium and large hotels in Natal and Pipa / RN applying Shoemaker model (2003) for analysis. The overall objective is guided by the following specific objectives: a) Identify what are the pricing actions taken by hotel developments; b) classify the strategies used, according to the model Shoemaker (2003); c) To propose a set of suggestions for hotels analyzed. The theoretical framework of this work is based on the study of major national and international publications on the hotel industry, marketing, pricing strategies and value. The methodology presents descriptive qualitative approach to data, which aims to get results by conducting semi-structured interviews, literature and documentary. The study's target audience, managers and owners of twelve (12) medium and large hotel located in the city of Natal / RN and the beach of Pipa / RN, being the two most visited tourist destinations in the State and, therefore, having the largest hotel park. The schedule of research activities started in the 1st half of 2014 ending in June 2016, where the data were properly analyzed from the theoretical model chosen for validation of this research. Given the research, there was the use of pricing strategies and evaluative items in the hotel trade of the analyzed public, thus corroborating with significant occupancy rates.

A partir da década de 1950 ocorreu a intensificação do processo de industrialização do setor, com a implantação de modernas técnicas de produção, voltadas para o aumento da produtividade. Essas transformações acarretaram um significativo crescimento populacional, destacando-se a migração de mineiros, em grande parte ex-trabalhadores rurais. O parque industrial é marcado pela heterogeneidade, englobando grandes indústrias com mais de mil trabalhadores, até pequenas oficinas de conserto. Estudos recentes buscaram analisar as experiências dos trabalhadores do setor no cotidiano de trabalho e extrafábrica. Abriram novas perspectivas de análise, dentro das quais se insere o presente trabalho. Ao longo do processo de formação e consolidação da indústria calçadista no município as mulheres ocuparam posição de destaque, compondo cerca de 40% da força de trabalho empregada nesse setor produtivo. Contudo, verificou-se que a história da classe operária do município havia sido escrita sobretudo no masculino, desconsiderando-se as experiências das trabalhadoras do calçado. Assim, tivemos como principais objetivos analisar o processo de formação das mulheres enquanto operárias, as relações de trabalho e as expressões de ação política de um conjunto de sapateiras que fizeram parte do processo de industrialização entre as décadas de 1950 e 1980. Trabalhou-se com um corpus documental composto por fontes orais, documentos sindicais e outras fontes impressas. From the decade of 1950 the intensification of the process of industrialization of the sector occurred with the modern implantation production techniques, guided toward the increase of the productivity. These transformations had caused a significant population growth, putting in relief the migration of "mineiros", mostly agricultural former-workers. The industrial park is marked by the heterogeneity, agglomerating great industries with more than a thousand workers, even small repair shops. Recent studies had searched to analyse the experiences of the workers of the sector in the daily of work and the extra-factory. They had opened new perspectives of analysis, inside of which it inserts the present work. Along of the process of formation and the consolidation of the shoemaker industry in the city the women had occupied distinction position, composing about 40% of the force of work used in this productive sector. However, it occurs that the history of the working class of the city had been written principally in the masculine, it ignoring the experiences of the workers-women of the footwear. Thus, we had as main objectives to analyse the process of formation of the women being workers, the relations of work and the expressions of politic actions of a set of women-shoemaker that had been party of the proceeding of industrialization between the decades of 1950 and 1980. The present work seeks to enlarge the discussion about the several
transformations that happened in the work relationships inside the Franca footwear
industries.
To better understand such transformations the research was developed over
the many transformations occurred in the city, since the geographical displacement
of the industrial pole, until the places that were of great importance in the life of the
francanos workers, as the Praça Nossa Senhora da Conceição, the heart of the city.
The process of productive reorganization of the footwear industry was
marked by the machinery modifications, by the subcontracting process of the
productive sector parts (followed by the intense impoverishment of the work starting
from 1990 decade) and by the organizational reorganization inside the companies,
that reflected in a new form of the worker to exert their functions in the footwear
industries. The workers demonstrated, through their experiences, how the alterations
in their lives had happened inside of this so important productive footwear pole that
Franca became.
Moving by your people's power and generating and attracting more and more
labor force, the city became world-wide known for the shoes production, mainly the
masculine ones.
In the "City of the Shoe" the shoemakers lived changes, organized
themselves, searched and formed syndical union and political representations, and
went to the streets to fight and bleed for their sacred rights of worker.<br>O presente trabalho visa ampliação da discussão sobre as diversas
transformações ocorridas nas relações de trabalho na indústria calçadista de Franca.
Para entender melhor tais transformações a pesquisa desenvolveu-se em cima das
muitas alterações que se sucederam na cidade, desde o deslocamento geográfico do
pólo industrial, até os locais que foram de grande importância na vida dos
trabalhadores francanos, como a Praça Nossa Senhora da Conceição, o coração da
cidade.
O processo de reestruturação produtiva da indústria calçadista foi marcado
pela modificação do maquinário, pelo processo de terceirização de partes do setor
produtivo (acompanhado pela precarização intensa do trabalho a partir da década de
1990) e pela reestruturação organizacional dentro das empresas, o que se refletiu em
uma nova forma do trabalhador exercer as suas funções nas fábricas de calçados.
Os trabalhadores demonstraram, através de suas experiências, como as
alterações em suas vidas foram ocorrendo no interior deste pólo produtivo de
calçados tão importante em que Franca se tornou. Movendo-se pela força de sua
gente e gerando e atraindo cada vez mais mão-de-obra, a cidade fez-se conhecida
mundialmente pela produção de sapatos, principalmente os masculinos.
Na "Cidade do Calçado" os operários sapateiros vivenciaram mudanças,
organizaram-se, buscaram e formaram representações sindicais e políticas, foram à
luta e sangraram nas ruas por seus direitos sagrados de trabalhador.<br>Mestre em História

From 1932 the display of a selection of these objects erroneously attributed their provenance to the Incorporation of Cordiners of Canongate with no interpretation of the meaning and use of this regalia. The association of shoemakers (cordiners in Scotland) with St Crispin their patron saint remained such that at least until the early twentieth century a shoemaker was popularly called a ‘Crispin' and collectively ‘sons of Crispin'. In medieval Scotland cordiners maintained altars to St Crispin and his brother St Crispianus and their cult can be traced to France in the sixth century. In the late sixteenth century an English rewriting of the legend achieved immediate popularity and St Crispin's Day continued to be remembered in England throughout the seventeenth century. Journeymen shoemakers in Scotland in the early eighteenth century commemorated their patron with processions; and the appellation ‘St Crispin Society' appeared in 1763. This thesis investigates the longevity of the shoemakers' attachment to St Crispin prior to the nineteenth century and analyses the origin, creation, organisation, development and demise of the Royal St Crispin Society and the network of lodges it created in Scotland in the period 1817-1909. Although showing the influence of freemasonry, the Royal St Crispin Society devised and practised rituals based on shoemaking legends and traditions. An interpretation of these rituals is given as well as an examination of the celebration of the saint's day and the organisation and significance of King Crispin processions. The interconnection of St Crispin artefacts and archival material held by Scottish museums and archives is demonstrated throughout the thesis.

Within this context, accountancy is seen as one of the necessary information sources to guide the proper use of resources. The study is exploratory, quantitative and documental in nature. Statements of financial accounting from 15 Brazilian shoemaking companies located in the South, Southeast and Northeast regions were collected from the year 2000 to 2006. This research aims to understand how craft creates value in the luxury shoe industry, locked in a tight embrace between modernity and a seek for traditional authenticity. The activity system design is the theoretical framework used to answer the research question.
The case of Berluti, an historic French shoemaker bought by LVMH three decades ago, was studied through a qualitative approach. I conducted nine interviews with Berluti’s workers and I collected secondary data to enhance the data analysis.
The findings of this thesis underline that to create value in the luxury shoe industry thanks to crafts, the key players are: (1) Disrupting the offer with crafts techniques, (2) attracting and training new artisans to face the lack of high-qualified profiles, (3) transmitting the spirit of the workshops through physical places and (4) using data to optimize the craftsmen work.<br>O presente estudo procura perceber de que forma o artesanato cria valor na indústria sapateira de luxo, profundamente interligado numa relação entre a modernidade e a procura da autenticidade tradicional. O sistema de atividade delineado para resolver a pergunta de partida foi o enquadramento teórico.
O caso de Berluti, uma sapataria francesa histórica comprada pela LVMH ha três décadas atrás, foi estudado através de uma abordagem qualitativa. Foram levadas a cabo nove entrevistas com colaboradores da Berluti, assim como foram recolhidos dados secundários.
Os resultados da presente tese revelam que para criar valor na industria sapateira através de artesanato, os fatores diferenciadores são: (1) romper a oferta com técnicas de artesanato inovadoras, (2) a atração e formação de novos artesãos que façam face a um mercado que escasseia em perfis de alta qualidade, (3) transmitir o espírito dos ateliês através dos espaços físicos e, por fim, (4) a utilização de dados para optimizar o trabalho dos artesãos.

As a result, the goal of high-profit was considered reasonable in the past and is criticized as improper profit today for exploiting labor rights. Therefore, it has been bear in mind that a corporation should have the concept of social responsibility. For the above reasons, the standard of Social Responsibility (SA 8000) was developed by the Social Accountability International in August 1997. SA 8000 is used to evaluate the social responsibility performance of an enterprise and can be a reference of the consumers and investors. The trend of paying much attention on labor’s human rights will become an important objective of business management. And, how to keep balance on enterprise profit and the human rights are the key factors to survive for every enterprise.
The research is based on nine phases of SA8000, the code of conduct and the system of the human rights to develop a structural questionnaire. The questionnaire investigates the importance recognition of SA8000 and the general implementing situation of the shoemakers in Taiwan.
According to this research, several conclusions are reached as showed in the followings:
1.There is no significant difference among China, Vietnam and the other countries regarding to the importance recognition of SA8000. The recognition of the implementation degree of the SA 8000 is mostly the same.
2.There are significant differenced between the corporations whose clients have and have not demanded to carry out the code of conduct (i.e. the system of the human rights).
3.It is suggested that a corporation had better to carry out the code of conduct (i.e. the system of the human rights) before carrying out SA8000. And, it would be best to carry out the local law of workers before carrying out the code of conduct (i.e. the system of the human rights).

This dissertation attempts to fill a void in early modern English drama studies by
offering an in-depth, cross-gendered comparative study emphasizing representations of
women’s discursive agency. Such an examination contributes to the continuing critical
discussion regarding the nature and extent of women’s potential agency as speakers and
writers in the period and also to recent attempts to integrate the few surviving dramas by
women into the larger, male-dominated dramatic tradition.
Because statements about the nature of women’s speech in the period were
overwhelmingly male, I begin by establishing the richness and variety of women’s
attitudes toward marriage and toward their speech relative to marriage through an
examination of their first-person writings. A reassessment of the dominant paradigms of
the shrew and the silent woman as presented in male-authored popular drama—including
The Taming of the Shrew and Epicene—follows. Although these stereotypes are not
without ambiguity, they nevertheless considerably flatten the contours of the historical
patterns discernable in women’s lifewriting. As a result, female spectators may have experienced greater cognitive dissonance in reaction to the portrayals of women by boy
actors. In spite of this, however, they may have borrowed freely from the occasional
glimpses of newly emergent views of women readily available in the theater for their
own everyday performances, as I argue in a discussion of The Shoemaker’s Holiday and
The Roaring Girl.
Close, cross-gendered comparison of two sets of similarly-themed plays follows:
The Duchess of Malfi and The Tragedy of Mariam, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream
and Love’s Victory. Here my examination reveals that the female writers’ critique of
prevailing gender norms is more thorough than the male writers’ and that the emphasis
on female characters’ material bodies, particularly their voices, registers the female
dramatists’ dissatisfaction with the disfiguring representations of women on the maledominated
professional stage.
I end with a discussion of several plays by women—The Concealed Fancies, The
Convent of Pleasure, and Bell in Campo—to illustrate the various revisions of marriage
offered by each through their emphasis on gendered performance and, further, to suggest
the importance of the woman writer’s contribution to the continuing dialectic about the
nature of women and their speech.
