Abstract:
Men's interest in sex partners' status traits and commitment (investment thoughts) declines with number of sex partners and permissiveness of attitudes; women's investment thoughts do not seem to decline. Testosterone, dominance, sexual attractiveness, and number of sex partners are correlated in men but not in women. It is plausible that these sex differences are part of sexually dimorphic feedback systems. This type of feedback is consistent with both reciprocal and basal models of testosterone.

Abstract:
SummaryThe population is ageing and the rights, welfare and wellbeing of this age cohort are becoming more globally prominent and the focus of much policy development. Whilst research is leading the way and informing this in many spheres of an older person's life, this is not the case for sexual health. Campaigns of sexual health literacy and intervention are targeted at ‘at-risk’ cohorts, largely ignoring those over 60 years of age. With increases in sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in this age group and the potentially serious nature of untreated conditions, this review highlights the need for increased research, health literacy and targeted interventions. Social, societal and physical barriers preventing older adults engaging with safer sex have been identified, highlighting the extent of the attitudinal and policy shifts required to provide age parity.

Abstract:
In this study, I examined the correlation between having a tattoo and/or body piercing and the time at which sexual activity began. Data were gathered from a convenience sample of 2,080 students, who were recruited by approaching them on the campuses of public universities in France. Tattooed and/or pierced students reported earlier experiences of sexual intercourse than did nonpierced and nontattooed students. This effect was found with both males and females, and was reinforced when respondents had both piercings and tattoos.

Abstract:
We created a classroom activity to illustrate the complexity involved in identifying sexual harassment. In the activity, students decided whether 6 fictional scenarios constituted sexual harassment. The activity stimulates animated discussion, and evaluation data indicate that it received positive feedback from students and refined students' conceptualizations of sexual harassment. We used this activity in teaching courses in Psychology of Women and Sexual Behavior, although instructors can use it in any course that covers sexual harassment.

Abstract:
The aim of the research was to identify the determinants of students' engagement in risky sexual activity. The analyses took into account the health locus of control, health activities and attitude to God. The research allowed to select three types of approaches to sexual activity: people engaging in risky sexual activity, people engaging in safe sexual activity, and people not undertaking sexual activity. The article will present the results of analyses conducted among 32 respondents aged 18 to 23 undertaking risky sexual activity, who account for 11% of total research respondents. Young adults falling into this category are characterised by a tendency to over-idealise themselves and their actions. They tend to engage in risky activities and avoid health-promoting activities.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction. Today, a lot of people’s dreams are about attaining a sense of satisfaction from sexual life, staying sexually transmitted diseases (STD) – free or avoiding any infirmity and sexual violence. The overall change in people’s attitudes toward sexuality and numerous hazards involved in risky behaviors calls for some scientific research focused on sexual life to be undertaken. Aim. The aim of this study was to present selected issues concerning sexual activity of women. Material and methods. 210 women aged 18 to 73 years with a diagnosis of a disease of the reproductive organ. The participants were being hospitalized at one of four gynecological departments. A diagnostic survey using the author’s own questionnaire was performed. Results. On average, the respondents had sex for the first time at the age range of 19 to 22 (45.7%). Most respondents have had one partner during their life (67.0%). Some 39.3% of the respondents admitted to have sex on a regular basis. Conclusions. 1. Early sexual onset was mostly preferred by both younger women and respondents reporting the lowest level of education. 2. Irregular and sporadic sexual contacts were common for women holding a primary or vocational education degree. 3. It is recommended that selected characteristics of sexual activity of women, particularly regarding the number of partners and sexual initiation, were subject to periodic epidemiological analysis as the potential health risk factors.
