Abstract:

La partition de "Sept, ils sont sept" pour ténor solo, chœur et orchestre ayant été imprimée en Russie en 1922 sans l'accord du compositeur, la question de l'authenticité du texte musical de cette œuvre, méconnue et néanmoins l'une les plus chères à Prokofiev, est fondamentale. L'origine de l'incantation mésopotamienne transcrite par le poète Constantin Balmont, à partir de laquelle Prokofiev rédigea le texte mis en musique, a pu être retracée en confrontant les ouvrages du poète aux écrits du compositeur. Des liens ignorés jusqu'à présent ont ainsi pu être tissés, et les rôles successifs joués par chacun dans la constitution du texte final clairement établis. Les recherches menées à la lumière documents inédits ont permis d'établir l'histoire de la genèse de cette œuvre et de comprendre dans quelles conditions la 1ère édition fut réalisée, à partir d'un manuscrit autographe récemment découvert. Ce sont également quatre traductions françaises réalisées en vue de la création qui ont été retrouvées, et dont l'étude comparée a permis d'établir le rôle primordial joué par Prokofiev dans ce processus. Lors de la réalisation de l'édition critique de cette partition, nous avons systématiquement confronté cinq manuscrits inédits, aux trois versions imprimées en 1922 et 1933, en tenant compte de leur histoire, de leur spécificité, et de leur mode de rédaction.En même temps qu'elle représente le premier travail d'édition critique mené sur une œuvre de Prokofiev, cette recherche s'inscrit dans la continuité des publications les plus récentes, afin d'offrir aux interprètes autant qu'aux musicologues une partition claire qui corresponde au mieux à la pensée musicale de Serge Prokofiev
As the score of "Seven, They Are Seven" for tenor solo, choir and orchestra has been printed in Russia in 1922 without the composer's consent, a basic question is to know whether the musical text of this work, neglected and yet one of Prokofiev's dearest, is authentic.The origin of the Mesopotamian incantation transcribed by the poet Constantin Balmont, from which Prokofiev drafted the text finally put in music, was recalled by comparing at once the works of Balmont to the composer's writings.Previously unknown connections could thus be weaved, and the successive roles played by each in the constitution of the final text were clearly established. Research conducted in light of unpublished documents made possible to trace the origins of this work and to understand the conditions in which the 1st edition had been made, from a recently discovered autograph manuscript.Also, four rediscovered French translations made for this work's creation confirmed in a comparative study the key role played by the composer in this process. By taking into account their history, their specificity, and how they were drawn up, we systematically compared, for the realization of the critical edition of this score, three complete manuscripts as well as a vocal score and an annotated edition completed by a manuscript, all unpublished, to the three versions printed in 1922 and 1933. Representing the first critical edition of a work by Prokofiev, this research fits in line with the most recent publications, in order to provide interpreters as well as musicologists a clear score which agrees, at best, to the musical thought of Sergey Prokofiev

Abstract:

A travers pres de 50 romans, ecrits entre 1847 et 1882, le romancier anglais anthony trollope a cree son propre univers ; il l'a peuple de personnages complexes et varies, vivant selon un systeme moral precis. Dans un monde ou trollope est dieu, quels sont les comportements a reprimer, autrement dit, les sept peches capitaux? le premier est l'exces, car trollope est un homme qui recherche avant tout la moderation en toute chose. On peut aimer le vin, mais il ne faut pas somber dans l'alcoolisme, ce grand fleau du dix-neuvieme siecle. Le deuxieme est le mensonge ; il ne faut pas tromper autrui, mais il faut surtout se garder de la calomnie. Dans ce contexte, trollope craint particulierement le pouvoir croissant de la presse. En troisieme lieu se trouve l'amour de l'argent. Trollope condamne l'avarice, l'ecorniflage, le mariage "interesse", l'usure, le chantage et l'escroquerie en bourse. Ensuite trollope, repute pour son acharnement au travail, n'admet pas la paresse chez ses personnages, il s'agit, selon lui, d'une tare morale. C'est le grand defenseur de l'ethique victorienne en ce qui concerne le travail. Le cinquieme peche est la vulgarite. Pour eviter cette faute, le personnage se doit d'appartenir a un certain rang social, d'avoir suivi une education appropriee, de s'habiller ni comme un dandy, ni comme un mendiant, et surtout de ne pas adherer a l'eglise evangelique ; en un mot,il se doit d'etre un gentleman. A la sixieme position se trouve l'hypocrisie, et plus particulierement l'hypocrisie religieuse, qui dissimule une envie de pouvoir sur l'autre. Trollope reconnait egalement l'omnipresence de la mauvaise foi, peche fort difficile a eviter. Enfin, trollope estime que l'origine etrangere empeche ses personnages d'atteindre une perfection morale. Specialement mal percus sont les francais (indignes de confiance), les italiens (maris brutaux et bigames), les americains (vulgaires, nouveaux riches et de mauvaise foi), et les juifs (rapaces et abjects). L'homme parfait dans cet univers fictif est celui qui resiste a ces sept peches : le gentleman anglais
Between the years of 1847 and 1882. The english novelist anthony trollope wrote an impressive corpus of almost 50 novels. Within this fictional dimension he created his own universe, and peopled it with a host of diverse and complex characters. As the god of his own creation. Trollope also invented a distinctive moral universe. This being the case, let's establish what were for him the seven most reprehensible forms of behaviour, or, in other words. Trollope's seven deadly sins. The first of these was excess. A great admirer of cicero, trollope believed in moderation in all things. You can enjoy a good wine. But never sink into alcoholism. That curse of the nineteenth century. Secondy. Trollope detested untruth in all its forms. He was particularly concerned by slander, and in this context the increasing power of the written press worried him. In third position came the love of money. In a world of change, certain aspects of the new financial distribution were particularly offensive to trollope. He explicitly condemned miserliness, sponging on others, marriage for money, the loss of old values, usury, blackmail and various frauds in the stock exchange. The central sin was that of idleness, hardly surprising in view of trollope's reputation as one of the great workaholics of all time. He considered laziness as a moral taint, and was in total agreement with the victorian work ethic. The fifth sin was that of vulgarity, to avoid which a man had to have a certain social standing, to have had a public school education, to dress neither like a dandy nor like a beggar, (above all avoiding the colour yellow), and to be a member of the high church. In short, he had to be a gentleman. The penultimate sin as that of hypocrisy. Trollope deplored religious hypocrisy, which he saw as an attempt to wield power over the weak. He was wary too of the ubiquitous sin of bad faith, one of the most difficult to diagnose in oneself. Finally, he felt that not being english was a fault in it itself. He was specifically critical of the french (untrustworthy), the italians (brutal and bigamous husbands), the americans (unrefined, brash and dishonest), and the jews (base and grasping). Inn this universe, the perfect man was he who resisted all these sins - the english gentleman

Ce travail de littérature comparée est axé sur 7 romans latino-américains polarisés entre l’Europe et l’aire caraïbe : Son vacas, somos puercos(C. Boullosa), El siglo de las luces(A. Carpentier), La tejedora de coronas(G. Espinosa), Rasero(F. Rebolledo), La noche oscura del Niño Avilés et El camino de Yyaloide(E. Rodríguez Juliá), La isla de Róbinson(A. Uslar Pietri). Le corpus se veut le reflet de la gamme des possibles au sein d’un genre protéiforme: le roman historique. La période abordée par ces textes s’étend de la fin du 17e à la première moitié du 19e. Tous les romans, en amont ou en aval de la Révolution française, témoins des convulsions de l’Histoire ou englués dans le temps suspendu, s’articulent autour des notions d’Utopie et de Révolution. Qu’ils s’interpénètrent ou s’excluent mutuellement, les 2 termes se révèleront indéfectiblement liés. Dans chacun des textes, leur combinaison définit en effet le mouvement de l’Histoire, entre la stagnation, le cercle, la spirale et la chute
This work of comparative literature is centered on seven latinoamerican novels torn between Europe and the caribean area : Son vacas, somos puercos (C. Boullosa), El siglo de las luces (A. Carpentier), La tejedora de coronas (G. Espinosa), Rasero (F. Rebolledo), La noche oscura del Niño Avilés and El camino de Yyaloide (E. Rodríguez Juliá), La isla de Róbinson (A. Uslar Pietri). This corpus reflects the diversity of a multifaceted literary genus : historical novel. It covers a period of more than two centuries (late 17th - first half of the 19th). All novels, upstream or downstream from the French Revolution, either witness of History’s convulsions or stucked in a suspended time, are about the same notions : Utopia and Revolution. Wether they interpenetrate or mutually exclude each other, the two terms are irreparably tied. They combine and offer at last, in each of these works, a different motion for History, between stagnation, circle, spiral and fall

Situes au bord de l'avre, les ets waddington ont pour origine une filature de coton, cree en 1792 a st-remy-sur-avre, pres de dreux, par henry sykes, negociant anglais. En 1812, henry sykes fait venir d'angleterre sa fille, son gendre william waddington, ancien negociant et banquier, et son petit-fils, thomas, precedemment forme dans une grande filature anglaise. A la mort du fondateur, en 1813, la famille waddington reprend l'affaire. A partir de 1825, thomas s'associe a son frere frederic. Durant leurs quarante annees de collaboration, tous deux developpent l'etablissement, creant trois nouvelles usines. A la generation suivante, leurs deux fils, richard et evelyn, prennent la releve. A la fin du xixe siecle, la maison waddington est reputee pour sa prosperite et ses innovations dans le domaine social. En effet, tres attaches au protestantisme, les waddington se sont lances tres tot dans le developpement d'institutions sociales novatrices. Richard waddington et son frere aine, william henry, deputes puis senateurs, jouent un role important au sein des republicains de centre gauche sous la iiie republique. A partir de 1913, l'entreprise semble vivre sur sa lancee, mais la crise des annees trente lui sera fatale. Des 1934 commence le lent demantelement des usines. Les ets waddington disparaitront definitivement en 1961
The waddington company's first cotton mill was founded in 1792 at stremy-sur-avre by henry sykes,an english merchant. In 1812, he was joined by several members of his family, including his grandson thomas and his son-in-law, william waddington. The waddington family took control of the company at the death of its founder in 1813. During the forty-year partnership of thomas and his brother frederic, which began in 1825, three factories were added. They were succeeded by their sons, richard and evelyn. True to their protestant background, the waddington family began early on to create innovative social institutions and, by the end of the xixth century, waddington's had gained a reputation as a prosperous company with forward-looking social policies. Richard waddington and his elder brother, william henry, both deputies and, later, senators, made note insignificant contributions as centre left republicans during the iiird republic. From 1913 onward, the company seems to have operated under its acquired momentum. The slump of the nineteen thirties, however, proved fatal to waddington's; the gradual demolition of the firm's factories began in 1934. The company ceased to exist in 1961

This research comprises a study on the values and ideals attributed to Dix-sept Rosado, by the Cole??o Mossoroense journal. Local researchers demonstrate how the Cole??o Mossoroense constructs an image of Mossor?, forming in the members of the city an identity with the place, a social cohesion or creating one forms to see and to say about the Mossor? city. The Cole??o Mossoroense, through Vingt-un Rosado together with its family, established a form of seeing and identifying of the Mossor? s population with the city, just because it associated and it was, at the same time, a movement at the same time social (civic parties for example), political (the domination of the Rosado s family) and cultural (the books and theatrical parties about the city). The conjunction of the Cole??o Mossoroense as and with a social movement, cultural and political was capable to establish a social identity, a subjective constituent . With this background, it was possible to make a study of the image attributed to Dix-sept Rosado, by the Cole??o Mossoroense, through an analysis of the inherent discourse in the works by Bakhtin (1989) and Bourdieu (2000), of and on Dix-sept Rosado in the Cole??o Mossoroense based on. The image of Dix-sept Rosado was constructed by the Cole??o Mossoroense after its death, and the responsible for this was Vingt-un Rosado, which was the chief-editor of the Cole??o Mossoroense up to 2006, year of its death. The Cole??o Mossoroense built an image of Dix-sept Rosado as an enterprising man, progressive and innovator, of great capacity of leadership and oratory (a conductor of the crowds ), popular and charismatic, an honest and dynamic politician. This image made by the Cole??o Mossoroense, although when enhancing in surplus the qualities of Dix-sept Rosado have as objective to transmit an image of a heroic personage, it has some relation with the reality. Dix-sept Rosado was a man identified with its locality. This can resemble a regional nationalism. The attitudes of Dix-sept Rosado must be understood inside of a broader social context, of a time marked by the populist politics. Qualities also appreciated and developed inside of a specific historical context and determined both national and locally. The Cole??o Mossoroense enhances the qualities of Dix-sept Rosado so that the current politicians of the Rosado s family can establish a link of continuity in its contemporary political practice
Essa pesquisa compreende um estudo sobre os valores e ideais atribu?dos a Dix-sept Rosado pela Cole??o Mossoroense. Pesquisadores locais demonstram como a Cole??o Mossoroense constr?i uma imagem de Mossor?, formando nos membros da cidade uma identidade com o lugar, uma coes?o social ou criando uma forma de ver e dizer da cidade de Mossor?. Abstract:

La perte partielle ou complète du fonctionnement des membres supérieurs est en majeure partie causée par des blessures dues à l’âge ou à des accidents comprenant des blessures sportives ou professionnelles, des traumatismes de la moelle épinière ou des accidents vasculaires cérébraux. Puisque le nombre de tels cas augmente constamment et que la durée du traitement est de plus en plus longue, le développement d’un exosquelette robotique permettant la réadaptation des membres supérieurs pourrait contribuer de manière significative au succès de ces interventions. Mon projet de recherche consiste à concevoir l’architecture électrique et électronique du robot MARSE (Motion Assistive Robotic-exoskeleton for Superior Extremity) afin de contrôler les sept degrés de liberté rotatifs qu’il comporte. Pour y parvenir, une modélisation mathématique de la dynamique du robot a été accomplie. Puisque la dynamique de ce robot comporte plusieurs non-linéarités, l’étude de contrôleurs non linéaires est appropriée pour poursuivre une trajectoire désirée. La commande du couple précalculé et la commande par mode glissement ont été réalisées. Ces méthodes sont simples et elles sont souvent employées pour des bras robotiques. Par la suite, la description des composantes électroniques ainsi que la description de l’architecture de contrôle y sont présentées dans le but d’expliquer les fonctionnalités du robot. De même, l’étude des capteurs à effet de Hall comme capteur de position est effectuée et les expérimentations démontrent qu’ils pourraient être employés pour le robot. Finalement, une comparaison des poursuites de trajectoires a été expérimentée et les résultats obtenus révèlent que la commande par mode de glissement est la plus robuste.

Abstract:

Quand le monde chinois prend une place accrue dans les affaires politiques, militaires, économiques et culturelles de la planète, il devient urgent de connaître les principes et les idées qui guideront l'action des pays concernés : Chine populaire, Taiwan, autres pays profondément marqués par la civilisation chinoise. Loin d'avoir disparu avec l'occidentalisation, les références des contemporains à leur tradition martiale, dont les "Sept classiques militaires" sont considérés comme l'essence, demeurent. Après une présentation de la pensée stratégique de la Chine ancienne, l'examen des écrits des dirigeants et chefs de guerre, du programme des écoles militaires, des principes appliqués dans les opérations et l'instruction des troupes serviront de pistes à cette enquête, chez les Nationalistes, puis chez les Communistes. Enfin, l'énorme travail de réédition, de commentaire et de recherche sur les "Classiques" sera analysé dans ses acteurs, ses préoccupations, ses justifications et ses buts. Si les principaux chefs d'Etat et stratèges de notre siècle ont été marqués par les Classiques ou une tradition qui en dérive, s'ils ont été enseignés dans les écoles militaires, si les savants s'y consacrent, certaines limites apparaissent cependant. Les généraux n'ont pas tous subi leur influence, ils n'ont pas été au programme de toutes les académies militaires. Ils ont été négligés pendant une partie de la période Républicaine, et entre 1957 et 1976. La rigueur des méthodes de recherche se ressent de l'immixtion de considérations politiques. Il n'en reste pas moins un grand intérêt des Chinois pour les traités militaires de l'Antiquité en tant que recette pour l'action politique, guerrière ou économique et comme modèle chinois de la guerre constituant des principes généraux d'application variable, mais non une doctrine contraignante
As sinicized Asia secures a more and more important part in the political, military, economic and cultural affairs of the world, it becomes quite necessary to know which philosophy and notions will guide and inspire future endeavours of the P. R. C. , Taiwan and other countries that have been deeply influenced by Chinese culture. China's martial tradition - of which the "Seven Military Classics" may be considered the essence - far from having been brushed aside by westernization, is indeed still referred to by the Chinese of our times. Having expounded the strategic thought of Ancient China, this study will deal with writings of political leaders and generals, including both Nationalists and Communists. Finally, the huge amount of reprints, commentary and research on the "Military classics", of the people involved, of its purpose and aims will be analysed. The most important leaders and strategists of our century may have been influenced by the "Military Classics" or a derivate tradition, they may have been taught in military schools and thoroughly studied by scholars, some limits do however stand out : they have not been "all" generals' nor "all" military academies' reference works ; they have been neglected during the Republic era and between 1957 and 1976 ; Party line and politics tends to interfere with scientific research on this matter. Nevertheless, a keen interest on the part of the Chinese vis-à-vis the military treatises of old cannot be denied. They make up the reference for practical ways and means to serve military, political or business endeavours and a Chinese model of warfare to be taken as broad principles rather than any kind of rigid doctrine

This dissertation presents a musical analysis and discusses some interpretative aspects of the piece Sept Papillons (2000) for solo cello, by the Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho (1952). A broad contextualization is presented in which we approached the composer s history, its main compositional characteristics, its aesthetic influences, the inter-relations between subjectivity and music making in her work, her gendered position in music and the importance of personal collaborations on the developing of her cello work. Musical analysis is preceded by the context of the piece, its situation on the cello repertoire, its influences and main characteristics. Due to the predominant use of natural harmonics a transcription of the original score is displayed. Musical analysis is then presented through the approach of formal and structural aspects. Research on the pitch, rhythmic, texture, timbral, gestures, instrumental and visual (metaphorical) dimensions of the piece is presented. Relations are established between the Sept Papillons building and Saariaho´s compositional processes. Technical and interpretative aspects of Sept Papillons performance and practice are addressed in dialogue with texts by performers and musicologists that work with her works and also through five interviews with cellists who have been played Sept Papillons in high level performances and recordings. It is observed the place of the body in music performance, on the sophisticated coordination on instrumental actions necessary for the performance. It is seen that Saariaho expands both the cello technique and the cello writing. Our work is justified by the contributions made to the field of knowledge on Kaija Saariaho, on analysis and performance of the contemporary repertoire, and on cello technique and cello music.
Esta dissertação apresenta uma análise musical e aborda alguns aspectos interpretativos da peça Sept Papillons (2000) para violoncelo solo, da compositora finlandesa Kaija Saariaho (1952). É apresentada uma ampla contextualização da compositora na qual abordamos sua trajetória, suas principais características composicionais, suas influências estéticas, as inter-relações entre subjetividade e fazer musical em sua obra, sua condição de gênero na música e a importância de colaborações pessoais no desenvolvimento de sua obra para violoncelo. A análise musical é precedida pela contextualização da peça, sua localização no repertório violoncelístico, suas influências e principais características. Por conta do predominante uso de harmônicos naturais uma transcrição da partitura original é apresentada. A análise musical é então realizada através da abordagem de aspectos formais e estruturais da investigação da dimensão das alturas, das dimensões rítmica, textural, tímbrica, gestual, instrumental e imagética (metafórica). São estabelecidas relações entre a construção de Sept Papillons e os processos composicionais de Saariaho. Aspectos técnicos e interpretativos da performance de Sept Papillons são abordados, em diálogo com textos de intérpretes e musicólogos (as) que trabalham com as obras da compositora e também através de cinco entrevistas realizadas com intérpretes que já apresentaram Sept Papillons em performances e gravações de alta qualidade. É observado o lugar do corpo na performance, na coordenação de sofisticadas ações instrumentais necessárias e também de que forma Saariaho expande a técnica e a escrita violoncelística. Nosso trabalho se justifica pelas contribuições oferecidas ao campo de conhecimento sobre Kaija Saariaho, sobre análise e performance do repertório contemporâneo e sobre técnica e interpretação do violoncelo.

Entre le iveme siecle avant j. -c. Et le xieme siecle apres j. -c. , la conception architecturale des navires a subi des changements notables. Ces changements ont deja ete abordes dans le cadre d'autres etudes sur les methodes et techniques de construction. Mais jamais, a notre connaissance, les formes de carene et l'evaluation de leurs qualites nautiques n'ont fait l'objet d'une approche ponctuelleet chronologique. Pour repondre a une problematique precise, il nous a paru interessant de comparer sept epaves greco-romaines et byzantines, connues et relativement bien conservees, selectionnees selon des criteres bien precis, le but est de tenter de nous apporter le temoignage de quinze siecles d'architecture navale.

Abstract:

Parmi les bacteries jouant un role dans la biolixiviation, t. Ferrooxidans est celle qui est la mieux etudiee. Cette bacterie chimiolithoautotrophe peut croitre en utilisant le fer ou les produits reduits du soufre comme seule source d'energie. A cause de son metabolisme particulier, differents laboratoires tentent d'elucider le mecanisme de transfert des electrons du fer vers l'oxygene. Plusieurs proteines d'oxydoreduction de t. Ferrooxidans ont ete caracterisees parmi lesquelles la rusticyanine, plusieurs cytochromes de type c et deux cytochromes oxydases. Differents modeles de transfert d'electron entre le fer et l'oxygene ont ete proposes ; impliquant ou non ces proteines. Nous avons choisi une approche de genetique moleculaire pour determiner le role physiologique de chacun des transporteurs d'electrons de t. Ferrooxidans. A partir de la sequence n-terminale du cytochrome c#5#5#2 de la souche brgm, nous avons determine la sequence du gene cycl codant pour le cytochrome c#5#5#2 de la souche atcc33020. Cette proteine est un cytochrome de type c#4 contenant deux domaines homologues ayant chacun un site de fixation d'un heme c. La sequence flanquant ce gene contient sept cadres ouverts de lecture codant pour six autres transporteurs d'electrons et pour une proteine de role inconnu. Le gene cyc2 code pour un cytochrome c de haut poids moleculaire, les genes cox1, cox2, cox3 et cox4 codent pour les quatre sous-unites d'une cytochrome c oxydase et le gene rus code pour la rusticyanine. Les deux cytochromes c ont ete surproduits chez e. Coli, leur sequence signal est clivee, mais les hemes ne sont pas integres. Nous avons montre par rt-pcr que ces huit genes font parti d'un meme operon. De plus nous avons localise le promoteur de l'operon cyc 162pb en amont du gene cyc2. Puisque les genes codant pour ces differentes proteines redox sont cotranscrits, que la rusticyanine peut reduire le cytochrome c#5#5#2 en presence de fer ferreux et que, ce cytochrome est purifie avec la cytochrome oxydase, nous proposons que les electrons sont transportes du fer a l'oxygene par : la rusticyanine, le cytochrome c#5#5#2 et la cytochrome oxydase.

Abstract:

Ce pèlerinage est considéré comme l'une des plus anciennes œuvres de dialogue islamochrétien en France. Dès 1954, Louis Massignon « greffait » cette rencontre sur un « pardon » breton dédiait aux Sept Dormants d'Éphèse, aussi connus en islam sous le nom de Ahl al-Kahf (Gens de la Caverne). Une approche historique permet de suivre la fabrication du pèlerinage qui apparaît comme l'« hétérotopie » de Massignon, son utopie localisée dans l'espace. Puis, l'ethnographie révèle une nouvelle facette du phénomène des lieux saints partagés. Bien que pensé pour le dialogue, ce pèlerinage n'est pas exempt d'ambiguïtés ni de tensions, y compris envers l'islam (une religion invitée dans un pèlerinage inventé). C'est aussi un lieu hétérogène où l'on croise : autochtones, militants du dialogue, « massignoniens », mais aussi des humanistes, touristes, néo-Celtes et autres New-Agers. Après avoir été « déverrouillé » par Massignon, ce lieu ressort comme l'épicentre d'un « pèlerinage inclusif ».
