Abstract:
Sports service industry is an important part of sports industry and the development level of sports service industry and its degree is an important maturity sign of sports industry. Since the 1990s,half of the developed countries, such as Europe and America, sports service industry output value has exceeded the total output value of the sports industry, and Chinese sports service industry added value will not increase the value of the sports industry to 20%, accounting third of industrial added value about 0.3%, compared with the developed countries, there is a big gap, but in turn, it also indicates that Chinese sports service industry has a larger space for development and potential. Third Plenary Session of eighteen and eighteenth explicitly proposed to "promote the service industry especially the modern service industry development and growth" sports services as a fundamental part of modern service industry, is bound to usher in an unprecedented development. Based on this, the objective and comprehensive description of the current status of sport-based development of Chinese service industry, the development situation of Chinese future prospects sports service industry, and strive to provide an objective and detailed basic data for the relevant decision-making authorities, the development of rational and effective policies and measures to promote scientific development of Sports Service better and faster.

Abstract:
AbstractWe study the case of integrating situational reasoning into a mobile service recommendation system. Since mobile Internet services are rapidly proliferating, finding and using appropriate services require profound service descriptions. As a consequence, for average mobile users it is nowadays virtually impossible to find the most appropriate service among the many offered. To overcome these difficulties, task navigation systems have been proposed to guide users towards best-fitting services. Our goal is to improve the user experience of such task navigation systems making them context-aware (i.e. to optimize service navigation by taking the user's situation into account). We propose the integration of a situational reasoning engine that applies classification-based inference to qualitative context elements, gathered from multiple sources and represented using ontologies. The extended task navigator enables the delivery of situation-aware recommendations in a proactive way. Initial experiments with the extended system indicate a considerable improvement of the navigator's usability.

Abstract:
Much research has been undergone in the smart logistics environment for the prompt delivery of the product in the right place at the right time. Most of the services were based on time management, routing technique, and location based services. The services in the recent logistics environment aim for situation based logistics service centered around the user by utilizing various information technologies such as mobile devices, computer systems, and GPS. This paper proposes a smart logistics service model for providing user-centric intelligent logistics service by utilizing smartphones in a smart environment. We also develop an OWL based ontology model for the smart logistics for the better understanding among the context information. In addition to basic delivery information, the proposed service model makes use of the location and situation information of the delivery vehicle and user, to draw the route information according to the user’s requirement. With the increase of internet usage, the real-time situations are received which helps to create a more reliable relationship, owing to the Internet of Things. Through this service model, it is possible to engage in the development of various IT and logistics convergence services based on situation information between the deliverer and user which occurs in real time.

Abstract:
Given the necessity for monitoring security situation in operations of expressway service area, the feasibility of building intelligent monitoring system based on neural network expert system was explored. The study has revealed that: the security situation in service-area operations consists of safety situations of every service subsystem in the area; and the safety situations of every service subsystem were, in turn, determined by the busy degree of every service, the higher level of busyness means the worse security situation in operations. According to this, the variables to measure the states of safety situations in every service subsystem were constructed; Based on these variables, the neural network expert system for evaluating and monitoring the general safety states in service area operations was built; Such a neural network expert system has been successfully trained with the samples and data given by the field experts, which accordingly makes it clear the system is feasible.

Abstract:
A nationally representative sample of 8 percent of the Government of Pakistan's primary family planning service facilities, the Family Welfare Centres (FWC), was carried out at the request of the Ministry of Population Welfare in mid-1992. The “situation analysis” approach used involved: 1) observation and inventory of services, facilities, supplies and record keeping reviews; 2) observation of interaction between service providers and FP clients at FWC's; 3) interviews with service providers; and 4) exit interviews with FP clients after service provision. This one-day on-site observation by teams of three interviewers provided a unique overview and baseline assessment of the availability of services, the staff functioning and the quality of service. Significant findings include a low caseload, inadequacies of facilities, some stockouts, lack of educational materials, insufficient outreach, unnecessary medical and social barriers to providing contraception as well as in some cases insufficient information to clients about contraindications to contraceptive usage and possible side-effects. The need to bolster in-service training and supervision is emphasized.

Abstract:
Abstract. Land cover change (LCC) detection is widely used in many social-benefit areas, such as land cover updating, sustainable development and geographical situation monitoring. With the development of Web Services and cloud computing, a number of remote sensed algorithms and models have been published as web services. An on-demand service is urgent to be generated by compositing a sequence of atomic services, according to different situations. Context information plays an important role in automatic service composition. Traditional context information models mainly focus on service only, and ignore the relationships among users and services. To address this problem, we introduce the service context and user context into the context information. OWL-SC and OWL-UC are then proposed by extending the traditional service description model (i.e., OWL-S). Finally, a context-aware on-demand service model for LCC detection is built to realize service composition and optimization.

Abstract:
In the field of smart environments, many devices and multimedia-oriented connected objects have gained a significant attention in recent years. There is a critical need to offer to users flexible and efficient service selection among a large set of candidates based on their surrounding environments, the user's current needs and situations. This article aims to provide a new Generic Context-aware Profile ONTOlogy (GCxPOnto) for a semantic description of heterogeneous profiles with a situations management facility related to smart environments. Based on the GCxPOnto ontology model, a two-layered architecture was proposed. It includes a local server with a sematic profile modeling and a central Cloud that provides efficient situation management and good scalability. This article is divided into three phases: profile clustering, situation management, and multimedia information dissemination related to smart services. The experimental results show a good response time and an enhanced situational accuracy.

Abstract:
This application is created to provide valid and relevant travel information to travelers on their journey. The application is proposed as a demonstration for seamless communications in the VINNOVA-sponsored project PIITSA (Personal Information Intelligent Transport systems through Seamless communications and Autonomous decisions). The PIITSA-project is a cooperation between Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Saab AB, SP Swedish National Testing and Research Institute and Swedish Road Administration region Stockholm. The project is going on under three years, and the goal is to define communication and decision functions which will make it easier for ITS-applications (Intelligent Transport Systems and Services) that have the need of supplying personalised information. This project presents a solution to the question “How do I get from point A to point B in any case”. All that the user needs is a PDA with the application installed and being able to connect to the service via a mobile network. If the user has specified a route in the application, then the user will receive up-to-date information on how to get to his destination. This information is presented on the user’s PDA. If something happens on the current route, then the user will get an automatic message sent to him presenting the problem and give him a new travel route. Thanks to this the user won’t be stuck in the traffic problem and will probably reach its destination in time.

Abstract:

This study has been executed at the Public Employment Office, an institution that has been

subject for much debate during the last couple of years. The government has instructed the

Labour Market Board to change the Public Employment Office toward a more effective

organization. This study examines one of the Public Employment Offices that are included in a

pilot project that aims to improve and develop work methods with the objective to become a

more service minded organization. From this starting point we have investigated which effect this

organizational change has had on the employee within this organization and within the pilot

project. In addition we investigate whether attitudes of the unemployed has an effect on the

staff´s work situation. In connection to this we seek to produce proposals of how to improve the

work situation for the staff. The purpose of the study is thus to map out the staff´s experience of

the work situation within the pilot project. Our intention has been to comprehend the complex

reality of an agent at the Public Employment Office. To create a basis for our analysis and to be

able to answer the questions at issue, we apply theories regarding organizational change, learning

and health. The main results of this study indicate that learning has increased at the workplace.

The results also indicate that the new, more service minded work methods increase the demands

on the agents to be able to handle social relations with unemployed and with colleagues. Finally

we find that though agents have a high workload they find their work to be stimulating.

Abstract:

Pham, Quang Long. "Émotions et apprentissage en situation tutorale au travail : le cas d'agents de soin mortuaire." Thesis, Paris, CNAM, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015CNAM0999/document.

Full text
Abstract:
This research concerns the role of situated emotions in workplace learning. The chosen empirical field is the one of agents of mortuary care in situation of interaction tutorale in activities which are new for them. The centrality of emotions in this context seems obvious, an obvious fact that we question in putting in object the emotions. Taking of a distance is made with the prescriptive dimensions or a social control of emotions which are besides necessary. We propose to analyse what it takes place upstream to what the subjects « make » emotions, also putting the focal on the fact that the emotions « make for them ». The emotions, from their appearance to their decrease settle a regime of specific activity aiming first of all to reduce this so displayed tension. The undertaken approach aims at observing according to which modalities this reduction of the emotion tension can come along with a formative dimension. So the formulation of hypothesis of research concern the function of the emotions on the trainee and on their fonctionnalisation by the dyade tutorale in a formative aim. The mobilized theoretical referents are mainly taken from the field of the training of the adults, the psychology of the learning, the emotions and the work. From an analysis of the activity of dyades associating tutor and trainee, we retain a multimodal approach of the interactions. The obtained results are two orders : first, a methodological result by the proposal of a methodogy of access to the situated emotions ; then, a theoretical result by the differentiation of functions of the emotions in the tutorale workplace : function of energy mobilization for the subject, function of revelation of significant moments of learning for the subject, and the social function allowing the subjects to coordinate their action

Abstract:
The report is part of the EU Erasmus + funded project “Mindful tourism services for mentally disordered people” (MindTour). The project aims to promote and support tourism entrepreneurs to value mentally disordered clients and their families as persons and customers and help them design mindful tourism services accessible for mentally disordered people. The project is implemented in cooperation with Estonian, Belgian and Latvian higher education institutions – University of Tartu, Pärnu College (Estonia), Thomas More Mechelen-Antwerpen (Belgium), University of Latvia (Latvia), as well as leisure and tourism service providers - Pärnu Museum (Estonia), Museum Dr Guislain (Belgium) and SIA Zeit Hotel (Latvia). This report reveals the current situation in the use and accessibility of tourism services for people with mental impairment in Latvia. Researchers of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the University of Latvia Agita Lūse, Liene Rācene, Diāna Popova, Nadezhda Pazuhina and Aija van der Steina researched in the autumn and spring semesters of the academic year 2020/2021, using both secondary data sources and gathering primary data through interviews with social service providers and tourism service providers, as well as participant observation and mapping of services, involving people with GRT in the consumption of tourism services.

Williams, Celeita, and Laura Fear. Continence NZ Service Users – Research and Service Review. The New Zealand Continence Association trading as Continence NZ, September 2023. http://dx.doi.org/10.24135/10292/17022.

Full text
Abstract:
This research was commissioned to deliver a review of the services provided by Continence NZ and make recommendations as to how the organisation can most effectively serve those living with incontinence. To inform these recommendations, the research sought to understand the current situation of continence care in Aotearoa, New Zealand, the experiences of those accessing Continence NZ’s services and the experiences of those seeking care for continence concerns. Continence NZ contracted Sapere to research the current state of continence care, which is documented in the report ‘Continence practice in New Zealand’ (Dourst et al., 2023). The experiences of those seeking care for continence concerns have been documented in the report ‘The lived experience of access to continence care in Aotearoa, New Zealand: A community perspective.’ (Williams & Fear, 2023). The results of the feedback on Continence NZ’s services are included in Appendices 1 – 4 of this document.

Jimenez Mori, Raul Alberto. Are Blackout Days Free of Charge?: Valuation of Individual Preferences for Improved Electricity Services. Inter-American Development Bank, July 2017. http://dx.doi.org/10.18235/0011804.

Full text
Abstract:
Low-quality infrastructure services are persistent in developing countries, a situation mainly affecting the poorest households in contexts of high rates of informal access and heavily subsidized services. This paper exploits choice experiments, specifically designed for formal and informal users, to examine whether households in this situation are willing to pay for electricity service improvements. The analysis takes place in urban Dominican Republic, a country with one of the highest rates of electricity theft and lowest quality of services. The results strongly indicate that households value service improvements, showing average willingness to pay around US$9 for informal users, and 22 percent for formal users with service deficiencies. The estimated valuations are significantly heterogeneous across households, and such variance is mainly explained by household income, satisfaction with the electricity service, and household characteristics, such as family size and dwelling size. These results indicate substantial welfare losses derived from low-quality electricity services equivalent to over 35 percent of the direct fiscal subsidy to the utilities.

Idris, Iffat. Service Delivery Modalities in Protracted FCV Settings. Institute of Development Studies, January 2025. https://doi.org/10.19088/k4dd.2025.003.

Full text
Abstract:
This review looks at modalities to deliver services in five sectors in fragile, conflict-affected and vulnerable (FCV) settings. The common challenge is how to bring about rapid delivery to meet pressing needs, without (further) undermining state systems. Modalities used were found to vary somewhat across the five sectors, e.g. some relying more on community participation, others on the private sector. However, in all five sectors a common focus in interventions considered to be effective was on: engaging local communities; working with community-based organizations; using public-private partnerships; keeping local/higher governments on board; and/or taking a systems approach. Ultimately, the challenges posed by each situation will be different, so the modality used will be context-specific.

Angouri, Jo, Shawnea S. P. Ting, Lyba Nadeen, Matthew Booker, David Rawlinson, and Nigel Rees. Landscaping risk in medical emergency dispatch. University of Warwick, September 2024. http://dx.doi.org/10.31273/9781911675181.

Full text
Abstract:
Risk communication in high-stakes or time-pressured situations is complex. An emergency '999' call is one such example of a situation of where someone needs to find a way to explain an unfolding, serious situation and request immediate help. The emergency service needs to quickly and precisely ascertain what has happened, what help is needed and where to send it. This booklet is based on research work and collaboration with the Welsh Ambulance Service and Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS). Diagrams draw on the local service architecture and are intended to be read as a case study supported by examples through which issues of wider relevance are addressed. It is for key stakeholders involved in Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD). The material seeks to raise awareness among staff performing the call-taking role, as well as strengthening the training provided for these staff and to inform relevant policy to support the work of all teams involved in EMD. The booklet is designed to provide strategies and share good practices on the act of asking questions and writing the problem text field in the high risk, complex, time-sensitive setting of 999 calls. Through examples from our research data, we show linguistic practices that can help health professionals develop systematic strategies when interacting with the public and in inter-professional teams.

Rogers, Katherine. Higher Education Engagement among Students with Armed Services Backgrounds: A Literature Review. Sheffield Hallam University, 2023. http://dx.doi.org/10.7190/steer/armed_services.

Full text
Abstract:
A systematic review of the literature relating to British military families (service and ex-service personnel, spouses and partners and children) and access to, and retention in, higher education; the review evaluates twenty-one articles and reports. Lord Ashcroft’s 2014 Veterans’ Transition Review provided a comprehensive account of the contemporary situation with regard to military service personnel and their families, and transition into civilian life (including access to higher education). This review examines the findings of the Ashcroft report and subsequent research to identify (positive and negative) factors that influence access to, and retention of students with an armed forces background in higher education. By synthesizing the literature, this report makes recommendations about actions to improve access to university, and retention, of students with an armed services background. Students with an armed services background are not a single homogenous group; the Centre for Military Research, Education and Public Engagement identifies at six distinct groups. This report examines the different barriers encountered by different groups and makes specific recommendations for different groups of students with an armed services background.

Full text
Abstract:
This study empirically examines how the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has impacted foreign direct investment (FDI). The authors find heterogeneous effects of COVID-19 on FDI by sector and entry mode. The severity of COVID-19 in host countries negatively affected both greenfield FDI and cross-border mergers and acquisitions in the manufacturing sector. But the situation of home countries did not seem to matter. Greenfield FDI in the service sector was affected by the situation in both host and home countries.

Ndhlovu, Lewis. Quality of care in family planning service delivery in Kenya: Clients' and providers' perspectives. Population Council, 1995. http://dx.doi.org/10.31899/rh1995.1038.

Full text
Abstract:
In recent years, the increasing number of organizations that have studied quality of care in international family planning (FP) programs demonstrates the importance the topic has acquired. To define quality of care in FP, the Bruce–Jain framework of six elements of care (choice of methods, information given to clients, technical competence, interpersonal relations, continuity and follow up, and appropriate constellation of services) have been used as the standard. However, what has been overlooked in this approach is the clients' perspectives of service quality. This study sought to narrow the gap in knowledge about the comparability and consistency in views between clients, providers, and researchers. Thus, this study’s main objective was to define the laypersons' and providers' dimensions of quality of care and compare them with the Bruce-Jain elements. The study was conducted in Kenya between July and September 1994. It was the first part of the Kenyan National Situation Analysis Study (conducted in 1995), and results will provide a guide in the methodology and formulation of the study instruments.
