<p>En este artículo se recuperan las críticas que se le han hecho a Julia Kristeva desde ciertos feminismos, especialmente a partir del trabajo de Judith Butler y secundariamente de Nancy Fraser. Para esto, se reponen algunos conceptos claves del pensamiento de Kristeva, a la luz de una serie de discusiones al interior de la teoría feminista. En primer lugar, es posible ubicarlas en un contexto más general de reflexiones al interior del feminismo en la contienda entre el feminismo de la diferencia y el feminismo deconstructivista. Por otra parte, aunque vinculado a este primer punto, se inscribe en un debate más general de los feminismos con el psicoanálisis y de este último en su vínculo con cierto pensamiento postestructuralista. Nos interesa iluminar, a la luz de las críticas de Butler a esta, en qué términos, conceptos y discusiones del feminismo se inscribe este intercambio. Por último, el recorrido indicado permitirá distinguir qué formas adquiere la lucha política tanto en Julia Kristeva como Judith Butler.</p>

La mayoría de corrientes feministas occidentales han mantenido relaciones conflictivas con la maternidad a lo largo de la historia. Sin embargo, al realizar un análisis en contextos concretos, como Andalucía, podemos descubrir cómo se han desarrollado una serie de activismos de madres que no siempre se han enmarcado dentro del movimiento feminista hegemónico. El presente artículo pretende indagar en la existencia o necesidad de un feminismo andaluz, con características propias ligadas al territorio, para posteriormente analizar si las maternidades y los activismos de madres desarrollados en este contexto pueden tener cabida como activismos feministas. Ambas líneas se desarrollarán a través del marco teórico de los feminismos decoloniales, por la necesidad de contextualización como sur, geográfico y epistemológico, y para recuperar ese conocimiento marginal que quedó fuera de la academia y de la mayoría de teorías feministas.

Desde 2016 asistimos a una producción bastante fructífera de trabajos fuera del ámbito académico sobre feminismo andaluz, entendiendo este como una forma diferente de entender y vivir el feminismo determinado por su territorialidad. Pretendemos en este artículo analizar si el feminismo académico ha prestado o no atención a esta nueva corriente con anterioridad, con el fin de alcanzar dos objetivos. En primer lugar, aclarar si el feminismo andaluz existe solo desde su categorización como tal o si ya existía con anterioridad, aunque no se emplease esta denominación. En segundo lugar, dilucidar si se podría considerar feminismo andaluz a toda la literatura sobre feminismo producida desde o sobre Andalucía, o si esta debería cumplir una serie de rasgos propios.Para analizar estas cuestiones, tras realizar una breve genealogía del feminismo académico en España y, sobre todo, en Andalucía, realizamos una revisión sistematizada en las bases de datos WoS, Scopus, Dialnet e ÍnDICes-CSIC desde el año 1975 hasta el 2020 en busca de las posibles raíces académicas del feminismo andaluz. En esta revisión constatamos que, si bien se han hecho trabajos sobre cuestiones feministas en Andalucía, estos no han sido realizados desde la perspectiva del feminismo andaluz. De este modo, el feminismo andaluz puede ser un nuevo reto para la epistemología feminista.

ResumenNuevas exponentes de la teoría crítica feminista latinoamericana han desarrollado propuestas epistemológicas que desmantelan una serie de lugares comunes y mitos muy arraigados sobre el feminismo y los sujetos subalternos en nuestro continente, derivados de la inveterada costumbre de aplicar en nuestro suelo teorías elaboradas en el Primer Mundo. Estas pensadoras se sacudieron la colonización discursiva y la dependencia ideológica de los discursos académicos anglo-norteamericanos y exploraron la propia experiencia de las mujeres latinas, de color, afrodescendientes e indígenas. En los años setenta del pasado siglo XX, periodo en que los movimientos sociales tuvieron un gran auge, surgió el ecofeminismo como punto de encuentro entre el ecologismo y el feminismo. Cincuenta años después, el ecofeminismo está a la orden del día, con una juventud especialmente preocupada por hacer del mundo un lugar más sostenible e implicada en el movimiento feminista. La sociedad exige un cambio, el cual puede y debe conseguirse a través de la educación, especialmente tras la publicación de la nueva legislación educativa española (LOMLOE). A través de obras de arte de creadoras que se encuentran en los museos madrileños, en el siguiente artículo se propone una serie de temáticas para tratar el feminismo y la ecología en las aulas de una manera transversal. Se busca crear un diálogo donde el alumnado se sienta libre para debatir temas como el feminismo y ecología, más allá de los contenidos marcados por la legislación educativa, pero siempre con la ley como base.

Se analizan algunas de las formas en que emergió el movimiento feminista en el estallido social en Chile, centrándose en el proceso de politización no institucional del movimiento y el recurso al cuerpo y las emociones para performar la protesta; aspectos presentes en una genealogía reciente del feminismo, considerando dos hitos: las tomas universitarias feministas de 2018 y la manifestación del 8M de 2019. Se realizó análisis documental de un corpus de notas de prensa sobre los tres acontecimientos y petitorios de las tomas. Proponemos que el feminismo puede ser entendido como un hilo de continuidad que hace inteligible esta serie de procesos que, de otra manera, no podrían ser interpretados: nuevas formaciones y subjetividades políticas, que emergen del desborde de la institucionalidad.

Introducción. Desde 1968, cuando se habló por primera vez del término «ola» dentro del movimiento feminista, se ha venido aceptando que la historia del feminismo se clasifica en una serie de etapas denominadas olas. Durante los últimos años, están aumentando las críticas a esta metáfora, por considerarse artificial, por la homogeneidad con la que presenta al movimiento feminista, por el obscurecimiento de la realidad o por su carácter etnocéntrico. Objetivos. En base a esto, el objetivo del presente artículo es proponer una discusión teórica partiendo de la literatura de los movimientos sociales, sobre cada una de ellas y esclarecer las posibles dudas que puedan surgir alrededor de este concepto. Metodología. El presente trabajo se basa en una revisión bibliográfica sobre el debate alrededor del uso de la metáfora de las olas en el seno del movimiento feminista para ponerlo en diálogo con la literatura de los movimientos sociales. Con este enfoque, se pretende llegar a un correcto uso y entendimiento de la metáfora de las olas en el seno del movimiento feminista, partiendo del concepto de «ciclo de protesta», que nos ayudará a comprender cómo la metáfora de las olas no es exclusiva del feminismo. Asimismo, se realiza un repaso por las cuatro olas que caracterizan al movimiento feminista, que ayudarán a un mayor entendimiento de la teoría que se presenta. Finalmente, se recogen algunas de las alternativas que se encuentran en la literatura a la idea de las olas, como pueden ser hablar de proceso, generación o presentar al feminismo como un caleidoscopio; repasando las ventajas que las mismas podrían aportar. Resultados y conclusiones. Este enfoque de la metáfora de las olas en el feminismo nos lleva a ver que, si bien es cierto que puede presentar ambigüedades y confusiones, un correcto entendimiento de esta supone una gran herramienta analítica

Historically, women have been given significantly less space than men on the TV screen andtheir roles have often been secondary to men's. The woman's role has often been a passive supporting role alongside the man's main role that drives the action forward (Greene, 2010, ss.1066–1071). This distribution of gender representation aroused the interest to study a television series from the 2010s with three female lead roles. The choice fell on the American series Suits, which takes place in New York's legal profession, an industry that, according tostatistics, is dominated by the male gender (American Bar Association, 2019). In this essay, a qualitative film analysis is performed, focusing on the three female maincharacters in Suits. The study is based on theories of representation, gender and stereotypes and takes a feminist perspective. The study also delves into Laura Mulvey's psychoanalytic perspective which is used to analyze the female representation. The purpose is to create anawareness of how fiction produces gender and how it affects masculinity and femininity. The study examines how women in a male-dominated profession are portrayed on television and how their roles are consistent with, what according to the study's theories, are considered to be female coded. The material has been analyzed focusing on mise-en-scene, cinematography and editing. The analysis is presented in four different themes based on how the women are portrayed and each theme is exemplified by a number of scenes. The analysis shows that there is an imbalance between the male and female representation. The male characters are dominant and the female usually plays a passive and submissive role.Historiskt sett har kvinnor fått betydligt mindre plats än män i tv-rutan och deras roller har ofta varit sekundära till männens. Kvinnans roll har ofta varit en passiv biroll bredvid mannens huvudroll som driver handlingen framåt (Greene, 2010, ss. 1066–1071). Denna fördelning av könens representation väckte intresset att studera en tv-serie från 2010-talet med tre kvinnliga huvudroller. Valet föll på den amerikanska serien Suits som utspelar sig i New Yorks advokatbransch, en bransch som enligt statistik domineras av det manliga könet (American Bar Association, 2019). I denna uppsats genomförs en kvalitativ filmanalys av Suits med fokus på de tre kvinnliga huvudkaraktärerna. Studien bygger på teorier om representation, genus, stereotyper och intar ett feministiskt perspektiv. Undersökningen fördjupar sig även i Laura Mulveys psykoanalytiska perspektiv som den kvinnliga framställningen analyserats utifrån. Syftet är att skapa en medvetenhet om hur fiktion framställer genus och hur det påverkar vår syn påmanlighet och kvinnlighet. I studien undersöks hur kvinnor i ett mansdominerat yrkeframställs på tv och hur deras roller stämmer överens med vad som enligt studiens teorier anses vara kvinnligt kodat. Materialet har analyserats med fokus på mise-en-scene, cinematografi och redigering. Analysen presenteras i fyra olika teman baserade på hur kvinnorna framställs och varje tema exemplifieras med ett antal scener. Analysen visar att det råder obalans mellan den manliga och kvinnliga representationen. De manliga karaktärerna är dominerande och de kvinnliga intar oftast en passiv och undergiven roll.

Målet med denna studie är att med hjälp av en semiotisk innehållsanalys av två svenska tv-serier skapa medvetenhet kring genusutvecklingen. Detta genom att undersöka hur kvinnor framställs i tv-serierna Andra Avenyn och Bonusfamiljen. Framställningen av två kvinnliga huvudkaraktärer från vardera serie granskas i avseende på könsroller, stereotyper och normer för att besvara frågan om och hur framställningen skiljer serierna åt. Studien syftar även på att besvara om Bonusfamiljen är normbrytande i jämförelse med Andra Avenyn, detta med tanke på deras olika produktionsår. Frågorna besvaras genom analys av utvalda scener. Dessa granskas utifrån en denotativ och en konnotativ nivå. Som stöd till analysen har även ett analysschema utformats. Detta baseras på två teman: ”interaktioner” och ”personlighet”. Det teoretiska ramverk som används innefattar genusteori och feministisk teori. Resultatet visar att karaktärerna är skapta med stor medvetenhet kring genus och feminism. Kvinnorna är självständiga och starka och återspeglar således ”den moderna kvinnan”. En av de kvinnliga huvudkaraktärerna i Bonusfamiljen speglar dock en mer könsstereotyp bild i jämförelse med karaktärerna i Andra Avenyn. Gemensamt för serierna är att de bryter könsmaktsordningen.The goal with this qualitative semiotic analysis is to enlighten awareness regarding gender development. This, by examining how women are pictured in two Swedish tv series, Andra Avenyn and Bonusfamiljen. Two female main characters from each series are examined in terms of gender roles, stereotypes and norms in order to see if and how the female role differs between the series. The study also aims to answer whether Bonusfamiljen is normative or not in comparison to Andra Avenyn. This, in consideration to their different production years. The questions are answered through analysis of selected scenes. These are examined based on a denotative and a congenational level. In support to the analysis, a schedule has been developed. This is based on two themes: "interactions" and "personality". The theoretical framework used in this study includes gender and feminist theory. The result shows that the characters are created with great awareness regarding gender and feminism. The women are independent and strong and thus reflect the "modern woman". However, one of the female main characters in Bonusfamiljen reflects a more gender stereotypical image compared to the characters in Andra Avenyn. Although, both series show a more modern look on gender roles.

Medieinnehåll bidrar till uppfattningen om hur man som kvinna är och bör vara. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur den kvinnliga huvudkaraktären Hannah Horvath framställs i Girls säsong 5. Detta för att se hur hennes femininitet kommer till uttryck genom vänner, kärlek, sexualitet och karriär. Vidare kommer att utläsas hur hon utmanar samt knyter an till den traditionella bilden av kvinnor i TV. Uppsatsen använder sig av en narrativ analysmetod hämtad från How to Study Television (1995), som specialiserar sig på hur man studerar innehållet i TV och TV-serier. Analysen kommer att göras utifrån ett genus-och (post)feministiskt perspektiv för att möjiiggöra utläsningen av traditionella och stereotypa egenskaper, attribut samt beteenden kopplat till femininitet och kvinnor. Analysen består av sex scener från sex olika avsnitt ur den femte säsongen av Girls. Analysen har visat hur karaktären Hannah Horvath både utmanar och knyter an till traditionellt framställda bilder av kvinnor i TV. Detta genom att hennes karaktär tillskriver sig, samt skapar en dialektisk relation mellan både maskulint och feminint förväntade egenskaper och beteenden. Utöver följande aspekter går det att utläsa att Hannah Horvath uttrycker sig både inom feministiska, och postfeministiska ramverk.

La peinture que la série propose de femmes et mères au foyer américaines désespérées est a priori le lieu d’une dénonciation de leur vie et de leur condition qui n’est pas sans rappeler celle de Betty Friedan dans The Feminine Mystique au début des années soixante. De plus, de nombreuses contradictions du féminisme américain (en fait constitué de nombreuses sous-catégories et sensibilités) y trouvent un écho. Cette multiplicité des interprétations possibles de Desperate Housewives, ainsi que sa composante postmoderne et camp, en font le lieu privilégié d’un féminisme queer propre à la sérieThis study investigates the feminist messages conveyed by Desperate Housewives. The depiction of desperate American housewives and stay-at-home mothers seems at first to be a scathing indictment of their plight, not unlike that of Betty Friedan in The Feminine Mystique.Furthermore many inner dissensions of American feminism (a term far more pluralistic than one might think) are voiced in the television series. Para ello, hemos analizado cuatro series protagonizadas por mujeres que se han emitido en el canal La 1 de TVE entre 2008 y 2017: «La Señora», «14 de abril. La República »,« Isabel »y« El Ministerio del Tiempo ». La metodología del análisis del discurso crítico feminista se ha utilizado para ver cómo estas narrativas de la televisión pública sintetizan la transversalización del feminismo estatal y la promoción de la legislación para la recuperación de la memoria en nuestro contexto político reciente. En nuestro análisis, sostenemos que las cuatro series han reelaborado el imaginario de la identidad democrática a partir de la agenda institucionalizada feminista socialista, lo que implica el corte de las categorías de mujeres y memoria. En este sentido, las mujeres se presentan como las protagonistas de la memoria democrática a partir de la convergencia de dos perfiles: el burgués liberal y el socialista. Estos tipos de mujeres actúan como referencias mnemónicas para las mujeres en la democracia contemporánea. Además, las historias argumentan la relación entre la feminidad y el poder y la relación entre lo personal y lo político. En este sentido, las historias aportan soluciones creativas que rompen el ciclo de representación de las mujeres revictimizadas y con la idea del empoderamiento como un proceso individual. Lo que encontramos en los guiones son acciones en forma de experiencias de cuidado ficticias que evocan la emancipación femenina de un proyecto colectivo sostenido de lo que tienen en común. Al hacerlo, invitan a reflexionar sobre el alcance estructural y cultural de la violencia patriarcal y permiten un espacio para la representación de estrategias de supervivencia colectiva desde una perspectiva genealógica.The aim of this thesis is to analyze where the mainstream discourse has placed women in fiction stories about different episodes of the recent history of the Spanish state. To do this, we have analyzed four series starring women that have been broadcast on TVE's channel La 1 between 2008 and 2017: «La Señora», «14 de abril. La República», «Isabel» and «El Ministerio del Tiempo». The Feminist Critical Discourse Analysis methodology has been used to see how these narratives by the public television symptomatize the rise of State feminism and the promotion of legislation for memory recovering in our recent political context. In our analysis, we contend that the four series have reworked the imaginary of the democratic identity from the socialist feminist institutionalized agenda, which entails cutting across the categories of women and memory. In this sense, women are presented as the protagonists of democratic memory from the convergence of two profiles: the liberal bourgeois and the socialist. These types of women act as mnemonic references for women in contemporary democracy. Moreover, the storylines problematize the relationship between femininity and power as well as the relationship between the personal and political. In this regard, the stories contribute creative solutions that break the cycle of representing revictimized women and with the idea of empowerment as an individual process. What we find in the scripts are actions in the form of fictionalized caring experiences that evoke female emancipation from a sustained collective project of what they have in common. By doing so they invite reflection on the structural and cultural scope of patriarchal violence and allow space for the representation of collective survival strategies from a genealogical perspective.

This thesis explores how the Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon event impacts the people who coordinate and participate in it. I review museum catalogs to determine institutional representation of women artists, and then examine the Edit-a-thon as a vernacular event on two levels: national and local. The founders have a shared vision of combating perceived barriers to participation in editing Wikipedia, but their larger goal is to address the biases in Wikipedia’s content. My interviews with organizers of the local Eugene, Oregon, edit-a-thon revealed that the network connections possible via the Internet platform of the event did not supersede the importance of face-to-face interaction and vernacular expression during the editing process. The results of my fieldwork found a clear ideological connection to the national event through the more localized satellite edit-a-thons. Both events pursue the consciousness-raising goal of information activism and the construction of a community that advocates for women’s visibility online.

Vidare har vi undersökt hur dessa framställningar skiljer sig åt i första respektive sista säsongen i och med feminismens framväxt.Med ett målstyrt urval av scener som underlag och med ett genusteoretiskt perspektiv, applicerades vårt analysschema på det utvalda scenerna. Analysschemat har vi skapat med hjälp av Keith Selby och Ron Cowderys narrativa analysmodell. Vidare har vi använt oss av semiotiken som analysverktyg för att kunna ge svar på våra forskningsfrågor.Resultaten visade att de kvinnliga karaktärerna skildras som drivna i båda säsongerna. I första säsongen framställs karaktärerna dock som mer begränsade till samhällets ramar och de drömmer om att bli självständiga. I sista säsongen framställs de kvinnliga karaktärerna som starkare, de har större integritet och de vågar gå sin egen väg. Resultaten visade också att skildringarna av de kvinnliga karaktärernas roll och maktposition skiljer sig mellan första och sista säsongen. I första säsongen är deras roll mer präglad av samhällets normer och deras maktposition är underordnad de manliga karaktärernas. I sista säsongen är deras roll mer jämställd med de manliga karaktärernas och deras maktposition är högre, i vissa fall högre än männens. Dessa förändringar i hur kvinnornas roll och maktposition skildras går att sammankoppla med feminismen som växte fram i tidsperioden mellan de två säsongerna.The purpose of this study was to examine, through a content analysis, how the female characters Maggan, Nina and Christina are represented in relation to their role and position of power in the society in the TV series Vår tid är nu. Furthermore, we wanted to investigate how these representations differ in the first and last season, respectively, with the emergence of feminism.With a targeted selection of scenes as a basis and with a gender-theoretical perspective, our analysis scheme was applied to the selected scenes. We have created the analysis chart with the help of Keith Selby and Ron Cowdery's narrative analysis model. Furthermore, we have used semiotics as analysis tool to provide answers to our research questions.The results showed that the female characters are portrayed as driven in both seasons. In the first season, however, the characters are portrayed as more limited to the society’s rules and they dream of becoming independent. In the last season, the female characters are portrayed as stronger, they have greater integrity and they dare to go their own way. The results also showed that the portrayals of the female characters' role and position of power differ between the first and last season. In the first season, their role is more marked by society's norms and their position of power is subordinate to the male characters. In the last season, their role is more equal to the male characters and their position of power is higher, in some cases higher than the men’s. These changes in how women's role and position of power are portrayed can be linked to the feminism that emerged in the time period between the two seasons.

Superhjältar har länge varit sinnebilden för hegemonisk maskulinitet, det manliga idealet, i den västerländska populärkulturen, vilket gör det svårt för kvinnor att ta sig in på området. Många kvinnliga hjältar som har försökt tillägna sig traditionellt maskulina karaktärsdrag har fått betala genom att istället bli sexualiserade. Det postfeministiska synsättet menar dock att kvinnliga hjältar kan få vara sexiga och bära traditionellt feminina markörer som smink och höga klackar om det är på deras egna villkor och om de samtidigt är tuffa och går sin egen väg. Tv-serien Supergirl har feministiska mål och producenterna säger sig ha skapat en kvinnlig hjälte som behandlas likadant som sina manliga motsvarigheter. Då karaktären Superman, som har samma krafter som Supergirl, förekommer i samma tv-serie ger det möjligheten att kunna jämföra de två karaktärerna på lika villkor. Genom att analysera narrativ och konstruktion har vi undersökt vilka skillnader som finns. Vi har även undersökt om, och i så fall hur, karaktären Supergirl tillägnar sig traditionellt maskulina drag. Resultaten visade att Supergirl, istället för att sexualiseras, framställdes som en ung och osäker flicka trots att hon är en vuxen kvinna. Det visade sig också vara tveksamt om Supergirl passar in på definitionen av en hjälte eftersom hon inte har de tuffa drag som hjältar traditionellt har. Hennes osäkerhet och brist på initiativförmåga är också det som gör att hon inte passar in på definitionen av den postfeministiska superhjälten. Narrativet i tv-serien placerade Supergirl i underläge från början genom att skicka henne till jorden långt senare än sin kusin. Både samhällsmedborgarna i tv-serien och Supergirl själv placerar Superman på en tron, medan hon själv oftast blir bemött som en ung flicka. Även kameravinklar och klippning hjälper till att förstärka denna bild. Vår slutsats blir att karaktären Supergirl inte hjälper den kvinnliga superhjälten att bryta ny mark. Hon har superkrafter, men hennes traditionellt feminina drag försvagar henne och hon framstår inte som intelligent eller som en ledare.

AbstractAt the end of a short journey, we can attest to the flourishing production of knowledge on gender and migration that has built up over the past 30 years in particular. Though we have on the whole referred to works in English, there is an extensive literature in other major languages, such as French, German, Italian and Spanish which have emerged from different social science traditions, in recognition of the significance of gendered migrations and feminist movements. English has come to dominate writing in this field (Kofman, 2020), ironically in large part through the European funding of comparative research as well as transatlantic exchanges (Levy et al., 2020). The past 20 years have been a rapid period of intellectual exchange in this field through networks and disciplinary associations, such as the International and European Sociological Associations or IMISCOE which supported a cluster on Gender, Generation and Age (2004–2009). The IMISCOE Migration Research Hub (https://www.migrationresearch.com/) demonstrates the extensive production on gender issues and their connections with other theories and fields of migration. The economic and social transformations brought about by globalisation and transnationalism, and how its unequal outcomes and identities need to be understood through an intersectional lens (Amelina & Lutz, 2019), have heavily shaped studies of gender and migration (see Chap. 10.1007/978-3-030-91971-9_2). Indeed intersectionality has been suggested by some as the major contribution of contemporary feminism to the social sciences, and, has certainly been a theoretical insight that has travelled widely and rapidly from the Anglo world to Europe (Davis, 2020; Lutz, 2014) since it was defined by Kimberlé Crenshaw (1989). We should, however, also remember that it had antecedents in the writing of anti-racist feminists on racist ideology and sex by the French sociologist Claude Guillaumin (1995), on the trinity of gender, race and class in the UK (Anthias & Yuval-Davis, 1992; Parmar, 1982) and by scholars in Australia (Bottomley et al., 1991) and Canada (Stasiulis & Yuval-Davis, 1995).

AbstractSince SOGI considerations have started to inform the interpretation and the implementation of the Refugee Convention (Chap. 10.1007/978-3-030-69441-8_1), a broad range of scholars from different disciplines have explored how questions of sexual orientation and gender identity can be effectively addressed within international, supranational and domestic asylum systems. The debate around aspects of RSD and beyond generated by this theoretical exchange within the same discipline and between different research areas has contributed to the (ongoing) normative movement towards a more inclusive Refugee Convention framework. In an attempt to nurture this continuous debate, we outline the theoretical and analytical frameworks that shape the subsequent analysis. We take advantage of the authors’ diverse experience in different academic fields to apply an interdisciplinary approach, addressing our subject from various perspectives. We start from the recognition that a detailed understanding and application of the Refugee Convention is vital as the floor for addressing SOGI asylum claims, but not in itself sufficient to ensure that these are fairly treated. Section 3.2 therefore looks to human rights to show how interweaving human rights frameworks with refugee law heightens understanding in this field of asylum. To this end, the main body of this chapter develops an approach that addresses the failings from a SOGI asylum perspective of international human rights law (IHRL) and international refugee law (IRL) individually. However, we then argue that, without explicitly recognising the gendered and sexualised nature of SOGI asylum, IHRL is only part of the solution. In Sects. 3.3 and 3.4 below, we claim that feminist and queer theories, and particular threads of debate within these broad disciplines, can help to understand the experiences of SOGI minorities fleeing persecution and, importantly, to explain why, despite improvements to the law and guidance that recognise the right to protection on this basis, there has been insufficient progress on the ground. In this way, combining a human rights-based approach that is largely legal with political and sociological contributions from feminism and queer theories facilitates a more holistic analysis.

Uno de los aspectos de la actual crisis de las democracias se revela en la dimensión de lo cotidiano e interesa las formas de la convivencia.Esta contribución propone el análisis de una serie de auto-narraciones en las cuales se evidencian procesos de concientización y prácticas que cuestionan la noción y el uso de la propiedad privada.Entendida como fundamento de la construcción identitaria individualista y conservadora propia del capitalismo, de la modernidad y del colonialismo, la propiedad privada (Engels, 1970) es un elemento que se presenta continuamente en las elecciones y en los posicionamientos que asumimos cada día.En una visión interseccional, la crítica feminista hacia las estructuras patriarcales de transmisión de los patrimonios se cruza con las prácticas y los valores de intercambio de personas en diáspora pertenecientes a culturas no occidentales, generando alianzas transversales anticapitalistas y antirracistas (Iveković, 2015).Lo que se define por crisis de la democracia conlleva en el profundo la oportunidad de cuestionar la propiedad privada, un pilar fundamental de las democracias occidentales considerado en peligro por las olas migratorias. Los medios de comunicación articulan imaginarios que se basan, desde la modernidad hasta el cotidiano actual popular, en la idea de que el extranjero quita lo que es tuyo, roba trabajo, mujeres, jubilación, en fin, el futuro.El encuentro con personas diaspóricas propone al feminismo contemporáneo la urgencia de repensar el individualismo y la soledad.. A raíz de lo vivido en keurgumak-casa grande (ideadestroyingmuros, 2015), en esta aportación destacaremos experiencias activas de formas de convivencia comunitaria implicadas en repensar las relaciones que vinculan la propiedad privada con los espacios, los idiomas, los y las niñas, la naturaleza, la comida, las economías y la transmisión de la herencia.Son narraciones de prácticas de vida postcapitalista que ponen en el centro la interdependencia y salen del binarismo entre propiedad privada y comunismo proponiendo la vivencia comunitaria de la propiedad privada en cuanto alternativa posexótica (Alga, 2018).

Popular television is perhaps the most important tool for the production and promotion of popular culture content. It is a strong place of resistance and a space for various cultural struggles, including the feminist struggle that we observe through a number of genres and characters that resist established definitions of femininity and typical female characters. Products of popular culture, such as television soap operas, and lately a number of other genres, especially those that put female characters in the role of heroines, have enabled the development of a diverse spectre of female characters and given their audience a place where they can find authentic representations of their identities and life experiences. Through the analysis of such series, this paper will show how popular television, empowered by the ideals of feminism, and above all, popular feminism, introduced many female characters to a wider audience, and has undeniably become one of the primary places for female consumption of popular culture.

“La ‘moda-escultura’ de Rei Kawakubo” es un proyecto de maestría en curso, desarrollado en el Programa de Posgrado en Diseño Visual de la Universidad Federal de Río de Janeiro. La investigación se centra en el estudio del vestuario (y su relación con los movimientos y la espacialidad) creado por la diseñadora de moda japonesa Rei Kawakubo para el espectáculo de danza “Scenario” (1997), de la bailarina y coreógrafa estadounidense Merce Cunningham (1919-2009). El vestuario fue adaptado de la colección primavera-verano “El cuerpo se encuentra con el vestido, el vestido se encuentra con el cuerpo”, diseñado por Rei y lanzado por su marca Comme des Garçons en 1997. Rei Kawakubo es conocida como una de las diseñadoras de moda conceptualista más importantes de la actualidad. Visionaria, vanguardista y atemporal son algunos de los adjetivos que se le atribuyen. Su trabajo también es denominado antimoda. A través de una serie de deconstrucciones visuales, sus creaciones abordan, directa o indirectamente, temas como el feminismo y la identidad de género. La colección “El cuerpo se encuentra con el vestido, el vestido se encuentra con el cuerpo” y los trajes de “Scenario” invierten en una estética que explora posibilidades inusuales de relaciones entre cuerpo y vestido; una estética que pretende deformar las formas. En la obra aparecen ideas que problematizan los contornos y movimientos convencionales del cuerpo: volúmenes desproporcionados, desalineaciones de siluetas, inversiones de perspectiva, asimetrías, automatismos, desdibujamiento de fronteras entre cuerpo y vestido, el vestido como objeto. En este campo nace la sugerencia de la noción de “moda-escultura”. Una noción que se pretende formular a partir de la obra y para la comprensión de la obra. Se propone, en este sentido, una aproximación a la concepción de escultura trabajada por Deleuze y Guattari en el ensayo “Percepción, afecto y concepto”, con el concepto de “über-marionette” de Gordon Craig y el concepto de “grotesco”, basado en las consideraciones de Mikhail Bakhtin. El vestuario del espectáculo de danza “Scenario” —objeto de este estudio, en el que se pueden observar ejemplarmente los aspectos destacados— es una fuerte expresión de la idea de “moda-escultura”. En esta comunicación se presentarán fragmentos de la sección final de la muestra. En ellos se puede apreciar que la alineación de los bailarines en parejas o tríos reconfigura en el espacio el volumen compuesto por cuerpo y vestido. La ropa creada por Kawakubo para la colección proponía el rediseño del cuerpo. Esta propuesta se radicaliza en la coreografía: con el movimiento del body-dress ambientado en el espacio se intensifican las distorsiones y ambigüedades. Se introduce la teatralidad y se forman dramáticas composiciones escultóricas. Con el juego teatral también se evidencia la función objeto de la prenda.

El objetivo de esta comunicación es presentar algunas prácticas feministas que han hecho uso de las tecnologías en los museos de México, así como reflexionar en torno a la soberanía digital, los derechos culturales que se ejercen en las redes sociales y si estos se inscriben en la “internet feminista” desde los museos.En los últimos años, los movimientos feministas en México han tomado relevancia política, en ámbitos públicos y de intervención social. Muchas de ellas, han sido juzgadas negativamente por hacer uso de bienes culturales, lo cual ha desencadenado opiniones polarizadas.Si bien, la postura de los museos mexicanos a este respecto es reservada, existe una apertura a prácticas con perspectiva de género, desde sus investigaciones, oferta cultural y exposiciones temporales. Con las medidas de confinamiento derivadas del COVID-19, quedó claro que las estrategias de los museos para continuar sus actividades, se centraron y volcaron en las Redes Sociales y sus páginas web. Asimismo, se lograron continuar no solo con las prácticas con perspectiva de género que incipientemente se realizaban en estos espacios, si no que se incrementaron los contenidos de corte feminista y de acción política cultural.Entre los ejemplos más notables estuvieron la apertura de nuevos espacios virtuales como lo hizo el Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo, con su Instagram Brillantinas MUAC, en donde se publican diversos materiales feministas desde la cultura y se ínsita al diálogo y la profundización de varios temas con perspectiva de género.Por otro lado, la actividad digital y cultural a raíz de la Conmemoración del Día Internacional para la Eliminación de las Violencias contra las Mujeres, fue adoptada por una gran cantidad de museos desde privados hasta estatales, ya sea con una mención al tema o una actividad o serie de actividades al respecto. Fue un ejercicio que trascendió a los 10 días de activismo y que obtuvo una interesante respuesta tanto negativa como positiva dentro de los públicos.Finalmente, uno de los ejercicios más interesantes que se lograron a pesar de las dificultades por la situación sanitaria, fue la iniciativa “Laboratoria: Mujeres en el Museo” lanzada por el Observatorio Raquel Padilla del Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia, que por medio de diversas herramientas digitales, se pudo llevar a cabo un ejercicio feminista y de soberanía digital en la elaboración de prototipos con perspectiva de género y para la prevención de las violencias contra las mujeres.-------- The objective of this communication is to present some feminist practices that have made use of technologies in museums in Mexico, as well as to reflect on digital sovereignty, the cultural rights that are exercised in social networks and if they are registered in the "Feminist internet" from museums.In recent years, feminist movements in Mexico have taken on political relevance, in public spheres and social intervention. Many of them have been judged negatively for making use of cultural property, which has triggered polarized opinions.Although the position of Mexican museums in this regard is reserved, there is an openness to practices with a gender perspective, from their research, cultural offerings and temporary exhibitions. With the confinement measures derived from COVID-19, it was clear that the museums' strategies to continue their activities were focused and turned over to Social Networks and their web pages. Equidad, independencia económica o libertad sexual son algunos conceptos asociados a las problemáticas de la mujer. Conocedores de esta realidad, la animación ha ido configurando nuevos arquetipos femeninos en un intento por que ellas tengan la misma relevancia que los personajes masculinos. Por su parte, se ofrece una reflexión que permita entender hasta qué punto se han plasmado las distintas problemáticas de género y sexualidad en el ámbito de la animación televisiva. Para ello, se tiene en cuenta la inestimable contribución de diversos estudios de género y sexualidad (Judith Butler, Nancy Fraser o Susan Faludi). El motivo para esta elección es que han sido éstas las que han ofrecido la visión más transversal sobre feminismo. También, que todas ellas están ubicadas en un contexto histórico específico (desde la década de 1960 hasta hoy). El fin es, en este caso, descubrir si se ha visibilizado y normalizado a las mujeres y qué casos han sido los más efectivos. Por ejemplo, cuánto se ha evolucionado desde Los Picapiedra (que representó durante un largo espacio de tiempo a la madre ama de casa de clase media y caucásica) hasta series actuales como Steven Universe u Hora de aventuras y su lucha contra la censura para visibilizar el LGBTI. De las muchas problemáticas que pueden ser tratadas, la investigación se ciñe a dos grandes bloques: la economía feminista y el LGBTI. La intención es buscar los elementos que permitan visibilizar y empoderar a las minorías y repensar los roles del género. A través de un análisis de los personajes femeninos, se identifican arquetipos y estereotipos. Feminist autobiography is a genre with long-standing literary and philosophical tradition, still some aspects, like, autobiography as “death writing” have come to scholarly attention as of relatively recent. The conceptual framework hinged on the concepts of “tanatography” (defined as an account of a person’s death) and “autotanatography” (defined as an account of one’s own death) makes it possible to take a fresh look into feminist writings from 19th and 20th centuries (Alice James and Simone de Beauvoir). Among the questions for the critical reflection we can mention the following ones: issues of memory and forgetting, of death of the significant other, of aging, of suicide, of literary death (ending the writing career path). Autothanatography is self-death-writing, instead of self-life-writing, even if death is an experience that cannot be had for oneself. The current article takes a look into the auto-death-writing of two women writers: Alice James (1848-1892) – a sister of William and Henry James and Simone de Beauvoir (1908-1986). Although both women’s lives are set almost a century apart and none of them define herself as a feminist writer, their memoirs are written from the vantage point of imminent death. In the first case (James’s) we can speak of her posthumously published diaries, especially their second part written after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Whereas in the latter (Beauvoir’s) case the autothanatological vibe is felt throughout the whole series of her memoirs (“Memoirs of a dutiful daughter”, “The prime of life”, “Force of circumstance”, “A very easy death”), but especially in the oeuvre “All is said and done” – the writing in anticipation of one’s death. The aspect that is common to both writers is that their memoirs exhibit the strategy of recollection, of re-reading their life events anew in the wake of the end (physical and/or authorial).

Patriarchal laws of a country subject women to various degrees of oppression owing to socially constructed institutions. Sri Lankan women continue to struggle with socio-economic, political, and cultural issues that marginalise them, as different social structures, classes, castes, customs, religions and societal behaviours influence, control and suppress them. In this background, the Sri Lankan judicial thinking is dominated by the sameness approach to equality that ensures ‘gender neutral’ laws. And feminists argue that this ‘neutrality’, is simply a male-standard. In this explanatory investigation, this paper questions this ‘male-standard’ and ‘asks the woman question’ to provide insight to the question; Does Sri Lankan Law serve as a Subversive Site for Women? Through this inquiry, it deduces that, taking a difference approach to achieve substantive equality by understanding positionalities and intersectionalities of women in patriarchal societies shall inhibit the contribution of a country’s laws to create a subversive site for its women.

Introdução: A motivação, entretanto, é a causa de um comportamento. Uma força interior, impulso ou intenção que leva uma pessoa a fazer algo ou agir de certa forma. O adolescente por se apresentar em fase formação é necessário que seus responsáveis compreendam os estímulos que o motivam a aprender, pois a desmotivação pode interferir negativamente no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Objetivos: Analisar os fatores motivacionais intrínsecos e extrínsecos quanto a participação dos alunos nas aulas práticas de Educação Física no Ensino Médio em uma escola da rede pública de Floriano- PI, verificar a predominância motivacional entre os gêneros masculino e feminino. Material e métodos: O estudo se caracteriza como pesquisa de campo de caráter quantitativo, transversal e explicativo. Realizada com alunos de ensino médio de ambos os gêneros na faixa etária de 14 a 20 anos. O instrumento é um questionário elaborado por Kobal, instrumento este que serve para verificar os fatores motivacionais referentes às aulas de Educação Física. Na análise os dados obtidos foram armazenados no programa Microsoft Excel®. Resultados: Com 46% o fator “faz parte do currículo” obteve o maior percentual em relação aos fatores extrínsecos com a predominância motivacional dos gêneros com 47% e 43% masculino e feminino respectivamente. Em relação aos fatores intrínsecos “gosto de atividades física” obteve o maior percentual 49% sendo a predominância motivacional dos gêneros com 53% e 45% masculino e feminino respectivamente. Conclusão: Dessa forma conclui-se que os motivos que apresentaram maiores percentuais foram “faz parte do currículo” e “gosto de atividades física”. Sendo assim, isso expõe os fatores que foram mais preponderantes, e isso não tem a ver com a ação direta do professor e sim, mas por parte do aluno, diante disso não descarta a significância motivacional do docente nas aulas, pois o professor é o principal agente motivador. Em função do exposto é indicado que outros estudos possam dar sequência, onde pode-se aumentar o número de escolas pesquisadas, assim como número de alunos, bem como ampliar os objetivos.

This paper examines how progressive rights frameworks are instrumentalised as gender backlash tools to suppress feminist activism. I engage with the events following Rehana Fathima’s political act ‘Body and Politics’ which faced strong backlash in the form of censure through law, and discourse capture. Using a conceptual framework I developed, I explore how various backlash concepts – co-option, censure, and discourse capture - discursively interact with each other, and identify factors that facilitate cohesion across backlash actors. I argue that in the Rehana Fathima case, the rights framework facilitated the agendas of powerful actors and not the constituents it was framed to serve. I conclude by making a case for political allyship across movements and among actors who are working on counter backlash strategies; and for deeper engagement of feminist development agendas with the sexuality of women.

TMG’s Urban Food Futures programme closes its scoping phase with a series of reports summarising the main insights lying the foundation for the next phase of action research. Grounded in the right to food and the six dimensions of food security, this working paper explores how community kitchens, school feeding programmes, and informal saving schemes work and how communities use them to cope with shocks. The paper investigates how vulnerable urban communities in Ouagadougou, Nairobi, and Cape Town use these three components to combat hunger and food insecurity in times of crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic, violent evictions, and armed conflicts. The paper further explores both the potential and the barriers of these initiatives to become urban nutrition hubs, places where community members engage in dialogues and build social capital to understand the structural conditions of hunger and what they can do to address them.

Since the mainstream racial awakening to pervasive and entrenched structural racism, many organizations have made commitments and adopted practices to increase workplace diversity, inclusion, and equity and embed these commitments in their organizational missions. A question often arises about how these concepts apply to research. This paper discusses how organizations can build on their specific commitments to diversity, inclusion, and equity by applying these principles in the research enterprise. RTI International’s framework for conducting equity-centered transformative research highlights how incorporating principles of diversity, inclusion, and equity requires a departure from mainstream practice because of historical and intentional exclusion of these principles. Drawing on methodologies of culturally responsive evaluation, research, and pedagogy; feminist, Indigenous, and critical methodologies; community-based participatory research; and theories of social transformation, liberation, and racial justice, this organizing framework illustrates what this departure requires and how research can serve liberation and social justice by transforming the researcher, the research content, and the day-to-day practice of conducting research. Centering the work of seminal scholars and practitioners of color in the field, this paper provides a holistic framework that incorporates various research approaches and paradigms intended to shift power to minoritized and marginalized communities to achieve social transformation through research.

Held between May and June 2022, the two-part ‘Futures of Gender and Global Health 2030” workshop was UNU-IIGH's first foray into integrating a decolonial feminist lens to futures and foresight. Organised as part of a series of ‘Changemakers’ workshops with youth-led feminist activists based in Kenya and South Africa and supported by the Ford Foundation, the workshop’s primary aim was to explore the practical uses of a futures lens and foresight methodologies for feminist activists working at the intersection of gender and health. Dr Geci Karuri-Sebina, founding director of the Southern African Node of the Millennium Project and its ForesightForDevelopment.org project, worked with the UNU-IIGH team to design and facilitate a workshop that situated foresight within the contextual realities of the participants.
