Abstract:
This article studies functional and semantic Tense/Aspect complexes in Russian and English, focusing on their similarities and differences. In Russian, Tense-Aspect meanings of the verb forms correlate with the semantic components of Aktionsart, while in English both Imperfective and Perfective aspects of the verb semantics are realized by the constituent category of Tense/Aspect. The inner asymmetry of the verb forms and meanings is acknowledged for each of the contrastive languages, especially for the two languages compared. The material of the study is retrieved from grammar books and manuals and from literary text samples, principally concerns the use of Tense/Aspect forms of the Russian verb and the forms of the English Perfect. The novelty impact of the study is determined by focusing on the irregularity of the aspectual meanings of English Perfect forms and Tense/Aspect forms of the Russian verb, whereas they are mostly due to lexical meanings of the verbs influenced by intralinguistic specificities of the semantics of lexical indicators as well as mechanisms of communication on the whole. Aspectual meanings both for the Perfective and Imperfective Aspect in languages under comparison used to make up lexical and grammatical aspectual categorical complexes. In terms of Aspect and Tense, peculiarities are found as functional and semantic ones, highly dependent on the situation and context of communication, thus involving extralinguistic factors which also concern the extralinguistic environment of Tense/Aspect verbal forms in use. The comparison of functions and the semantics of Aspect and Aktionsart in the Russian language with those of English Perfect asymmetry is proved to emerge, being caused by cross-linguistic structural and typological differences, particularly, the existence or not the similar forms, their varying semantic load, analytical or synthetic tendencies and others. The asymmetry is especially vividly seen translation and lexicographic field to compose varying kinds of bilingual dictionaries.

Abstract:
The major subtask of Sentiment analysis based on aspects (ABSA) is the category of aspectdetection (ACD). Due to the subjectivity inherent in categorizing, as well as the occurrence of overlapping classes, it is a difficult challenge to solve. Rule-based techniques, as well as other machine learning approaches, have been used to tackle ACD, and a majority of them are statistical behavior. We employed an association rulebased method in this article. We developed a mixed principle strategy that incorporates both association rule mining and semantics associations to address the statistical limitations of association rules. We employed the concept of word-embed for semantic linkages. The experiments were carried out using the SemEval dataset, which is a standardized set of data for categorizing features industry. We discovered how semantic connections could help to enhance classification accuracy by complementing statistical associations. The proposed method outperforms several statistical methods.

Abstract:
The article touches upon the analysis of the pragmаtic and semantic aspect that is entwined into the phenomenon of branding. The phenomenon of branding reflects a significant cultural layer of the modern consumer society. The essence of the brand is central to understanding the concept of the brand itself. It is a representation of semantic and pragmatic characteristics that merge into a single pragmatic-semantic unit. To reveal the presuppositions inherent in the essence of the brand, it is necessary to be able to “understand” the target audience and recognize an individual as a representative of this target audience with their interests and needs. Understanding the essence of the brand and decoding the presuppositions embedded in it is impossible without correct perception of the pragmatic-semantic aspects of the entire semiotic situation, within which the brand functions as a linguocultural phenomenon. That means that the concept of a brand in the article is considered not only as a marketing concept when promoting commercial products, but is understood more broadly as a linguocultural phenomenon, whose pragmatics is formed by merging key semantic layers – syntactics, semantics, semiotics – into it in the context of the modern linguocultural situation. The semantics of the brand and its decoding through the disclosure of the linguo-semiotic aspects integrated into the brand name during its formation largely depend on the pragmatic potential, which sends the participants of the communication directly to the context of speech use. Thus, we can say that the formation of the brand’s message is based on two aspects engaged in forming the semantic load - linguistic and paralinguistic, implemented through the pragmatics of the brand, whose formation, in turn, takes place at the above mentioned three semantic levels.

Abstract:
Russian polysemous adjectives is one of the important issues in the study of the lexical semantics of the Russian language. Its essence lies in the methods of understanding the semantic content of adjectives and establishing internal connections between their meanings. Cognitive metaphor as a key working mechanism can clearly explain the phenomenon of Russian adjectives polysemy. This study uses the theory of cognitive metaphor that contains many working mechanisms affecting the change in the lexical semantics of adjectives. Among them, semantic transfer between cognitive domains is one of the most typical and active mechanisms. The present study is based on two original cognitive domains: the domain of space and the domain of physical perception. Under the cognitive effect of transferring from the original domain to other domains, adjectives acquire different meanings. This research focuses upon Russian polysemous spatial adjectives and adjectives of physical perception...

Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a novel Human-like Semantic Cognition Network (HSCN) for aspect-level sentiment classification, motivated by the principles of human beings’ reading cognitive process (pre-reading, active reading, post-reading). We first design a word-level interactive perception module to capture the correlation between context words and the given target words, which can be regarded as pre-reading. Second, to mimic the process of active reading, we propose a targetaware semantic distillation module to produce the targetspecific context representation for aspect-level sentiment prediction. Third, we further devise a semantic deviation metric module to measure the semantic deviation between the targetspecific context representation and the given target, which evaluates the degree we understand the target-specific context semantics. The measured semantic deviation is then used to fine-tune the above active reading process in a feedback regulation way. To verify the effectiveness of our approach, we conduct extensive experiments on three widely used datasets. The experiments demonstrate that HSCN achieves impressive results compared to other strong competitors.

Abstract:
AbstractTwo empirical studies – a verb elicitation experiment and a collostructional analysis – were conducted to investigate the Mandarin LVS construction with respect to the lexical semantics of the verb and its collocation with grammatical aspect. Converging evidence from both studies indicates strong schematicity and productivity in the verb category of the LVS construction. Although most exemplars fall into a few major lexical semantic clusters, there are more low-frequency marginal exemplars than previously recognized, reinforcing the constructional schema in an essentially radial category. In addition to the lexical semantic regularity of the verb slot, both studies showed the existence of high-frequency tokens with prototype status. As far as grammatical aspect is concerned, the converging evidence indicates that the LVS category is compatible not only with the durative aspect, but also with the perfective as well as the resultative and directional lexical aspect. The attraction of grammatical aspect to the verb of LVS is graded rather than absolute, with some mutual selection patterns more typical than others. The two grammatical aspects as marked by the durative -zhe and the perfective -le are non-interchangeable.

Abstract:
The published material opens with a cycle of lectures titled “Musical Intonation.” The first of them illuminates such theoretical issues as the concept of intonation, the means of its sound design (the constructive — the motive, phrase, consonance, sound; the textural — in monophony and polyphony), and its semantics. Demonstration is made of “objectivity,” manifested by intonation (the figurative spheres of the Human Being, World, Music). It is discovered that the spheres of expressiveness are “modeled” in intonation as such or in various combinations. Thus, the semantic core of a larger component of musical content is formed — the musical image. The existence of musical intonation in an artistic opus is mobile, which makes it possible to characterize it as a poly-semantic and polymorphic phenomenon. The subsequent lectures will demonstrate such aspects of musical intonation as its genre-related and stylistic properties, its aesthetic and dramatic features, as well as its ability to exist in a historical and cultural context.

Abstract:
Purpose of Article - description of the semantic features of the hard-and-heavy musical composition in artistic and pedagogical aspects - the following tasks are specifically applied: individual perspectives of the study of semantics in rock music; need an organization theme), describe the structure and semantic model of hard and heavy compositions. Methodology relies on an integrated approach with the use of system-structural, functional and comparative methods, which allows to explore the characteristics of musical composition's semantics in hardand-heavy at the intonational-thematic, genre, compositional levels. Scientific novelty consists in describing the models of the structural and semantic organization of hard-and-heavy compositions on the basis of a study of the processes of shaping, thematic and structural organization. Hard-and-heavy uses various types of forms - from simple to complex, mirror-symmetric, open, alternative, which are based on one of the three types of thematic organization: monoriff, polyriff, spiral. Structural models of hard-and-heavy musical forms emerge based on the interaction of genre features of vocal and instrumental music. Each structural model corresponds to a generalized semantic model with a specific range of values. The guiding lines for semantic interpretation are representations of typical forms. The semantic model of a typical hardand-heavy composition has several particular models that play the role of a meaningful scenario, define the functional and dynamic profile of the piece, and create the semantic field of this form. Semantic analysis of the rock-piece`s form, as a component of the operational level of artistic and pedagogical analysis, provides an awareness of the joint action of the means of musical expression in their interconnection and conditionality of content. It reveals the structural features of a piece of music, facilitating the process of perception and providing active influence of musical images on the listeners

Abstract:
Introduction. The article continues the series of publications on the linguistics of relations (hereinafter R–linguistics) and is devoted to an introduction to the logic of natural language in relation to the approach considered in the series. The problem of natural language logic still remains relevant, since this logic differs significantly from traditional mathematical logic. Moreover, with the appearance of artificial intelligence systems, the importance of this problem only increases. The article analyzes logical problems that prevent the application of classical logic methods to natural languages. This is possible because R-linguistics forms the semantics of a language in the form of world model structures in which language sentences are interpreted.Methodology and sources. The results obtained in the previous parts of the series are used as research tools. To develop the necessary mathematical representations in the field of logic and semantics, the formulated concept of the interpretation operator is used. Results and discussion. The problems that arise when studying the logic of natural language in the framework of R–linguistics are analyzed. These issues are discussed in three aspects: the logical aspect itself; the linguistic aspect; the aspect of correlation with reality. A very General approach to language semantics is considered and semantic axioms of the language are formulated. The problems of the language and its logic related to the most General view of semantics are shown.Conclusion. It is shown that the application of mathematical logic, regardless of its type, to the study of natural language logic faces significant problems. This is a consequence of the inconsistency of existing approaches with the world model. But it is the coherence with the world model that allows us to build a new logical approach. Matching with the model means a semantic approach to logic. Even the most General view of semantics allows to formulate important results about the properties of languages that lack meaning. The simplest examples of semantic interpretation of traditional logic demonstrate its semantic problems (primarily related to negation).

Abstract:
This paper reviews research on English past-tense acquisition to test the validity of the single mechanism model and the dual mechanism model, focusing on regular-irregular dissociation and semantic bias. Based on the review, it is suggested that in L1 acquisition, both regular and irregular verbs are governed by semantics; that is, early use of past tense forms are restricted to achievement verbs—regular or irregular. In contrast, some L2 acquisition studies show stronger semantic bias for regular past tense forms (e.g., Housen, 2002, Rohde, 1996). It is argued that L1 acquisition of the past-tense morphology can be accounted for more adequately by the single-mechanism model.

Abstract:
The article purpose is to analyze the semantic and functional parameters of the newest political terms in the Ukrainian internet-media speech. The study displays the semantic stratification of new terms based on their correlation with the environment and their functioning peculiarities using qualitative and quantitative parameters that allow to identify the most frequent lexical units in online media. The research object is the newest political terms in the modern Ukrainian language, and the subject of study is semantic and functional characteristics of these language units. The main research approach is semantic and functional analysis of language phenomena. Conceptual-linguistic method was used for semantic stratification of the latest political terms through the scope of their correlation with the environment. The quantitative analysis was meant to identify the most frequent lexical units with political semantics in online media. The descriptive method was used for linguistic facts interpretation. The article extends the notion of socio-political terminology and specifies correlation between socio-political terminology and socio-political vocabulary. The nomination system has formed and is permanently refreshed due to the new communication conditions in the globalized world. The study establishes that socio-political terminology is an open set with increasingly blurred boundaries. A lexical unit affiliation to socio-political terminology is determined by its conceptual content. The research proves that semantic stratification of the latest political terms is primarily based on the correlation with the environment, for instance, journalism and social communications, informational technologies, PR and advertising, art, linguistics, and rhetoric. Units in the analyzed lexical-semantic cluster are quite difficult to identify as terminological words or common words. The study has shown diffuse zone where the lexemes constantly fluctuate between strict requirements for a term (unambiguity, stylistic neutrality) and real functioning in media texts where they acquire imagery and expression. Therefore, the socio-political neolexicon needs further attention of scientists.

Abstract:
Recently, much research in linguistics has become increasingly interested in the use of new methods and tools to analyze authentic linguistic data provided by text corpora. One of the most reliable corpus-based methods is the collostruction analysis, developed by A. Stefanowitsch and S. Th. Gries. Through statistical corpus analysis, this method examines semantics of grammatical construction by measuring the degree of mutual association/ repulsion between a construction and lexical items flling its main slot. This paper demonstrates the feasibility of applying the collostructional analysis to study semantics of one type of the English unaugmented detached construction with explicit subject, a non-fnite construction of a binary structure consisting of a (pro)nominal subject and Participle I as a predicate, as in [ВКЕС [Subj cheeks][Pred burning suddenly]]. Using R statistical software and the script for the collostructional analysis on empirical data drawn from the BNC-BYU corpus, we identify verbs, which reveal signifcant attraction to the predicate slot. The semantic analysis of the most strongly attracted verbs allows determining the semantic verb classes most closely associated with the given construction. It appears that the construction particularly attracts verbs involving the body, verbs of emission, verbs of motion, verbs of existence, touch verbs, and verbs of perception. These verbs belong to the aspectual classes of state and process. The analysis proves that the semantics of the construction [ВКЕС with-less[Subj general noun][Verb Participle І]] sets restrictions on flling its predicate slot with only those verbs whose arguments are compatible with the semantic roles defned by the construction. In its prototypical meaning the analyzed detached construction verbalizes a scenario in which Agent (the subject of the matrix clause) has a Partitive (the subject of the construction) in State/ Process (expressed by the predicate of the construction — Participle I). The evidence from the study suggests that the collostructional analysis substantially advances our understanding of grammatical constructions and their meaning. Clearly, these are only preliminary fndings and further studies regarding collostructional semantics of other types of English detached constructions with explicit subject would be worthwhile.

Abstract:
Semantics, contrastive linguistics and parallel corporaIn view of the ambiguity of the term “semantics”, the author shows the differences between the traditional lexical semantics and the contemporary semantics in the light of various semantic schools. She examines semantics differently in connection with contrastive studies where the description must necessary go from the meaning towards the linguistic form, whereas in traditional contrastive studies the description proceeded from the form towards the meaning. This requirement regarding theoretical contrastive studies necessitates construction of a semantic interlanguage, rather than only singling out universal semantic categories expressed with various language means. Such studies can be strongly supported by parallel corpora. However, in order to make them useful for linguists in manual and computer translations, as well as in the development of dictionaries, including online ones, we need not only formal, often automatic, annotation of texts, but also semantic annotation - which is unfortunately manual. In the article we focus on semantic annotation concerning time, aspect and quantification of names and predicates in the whole semantic structure of the sentence on the example of the “Polish-Bulgarian-Russian parallel corpus”.

Abstract:
Statement of the problem. Due to the lack of coverage of the issue of intercategorial interaction of various functional-semantic categories, this problem remains the most relevant today. The focus of our research is the problem of intercategorial inclusion of the functional-semantic category of taxis and the category of consecutivity. Intercategorial inclusion of these categories determines the constitution of consecutive-taxis semantic syncretic complexes and the actualization of consecutive-taxis categorial situations of simultaneity in statements with monotaxis prepositions of consecutive semantics. The purpose of this article is to describe the actualization of consecutive-taxis categorial situations of simultaneity in different-structured languages: German, English, Dutch, Russian, and Polish. Methodology (materials and methods). The material was the statements of the German, Dutch, English, Russian, and Polish languages with monotaxic prepositions of the consecutive semantics infolge, ingevolge, krachtens, wskutek, w skutku, skutkiem, na skutek, w wyniku, w efekcie, w rezultaci, вследствие, в результате. The main methods used were the following: continuous sampling, hypothetical-deductive, inductive, and descriptive methods, classification method, as well as the method of synthesis and interpretation of linguistic material. Research results. It was found out that German, English, Dutch, Polish, and Russian statements with monotaxis prepositions of the consecutive semantics infolge, ingevolge, krachtens, wskutek, w skutku, skutkiem, na skutek, w wyniku, w efekcie, w rezultaci, вследствие, в результате, represent consequently taxis semantic syncretic complexes of simultaneity. They actualize consecutive-taxis categorical situations of simultaneity. Monotaxis prepositions of consecutive semantics act as markers of consecutive-taxis categorial situations of simultaneity. Deverbatives in combination with consecutive prepositions act as taxis actualizers.

Abstract:
The article studies the system of mythological names in I.A. Bunins poetic heritage. The relevance of the topic is due to the unexplored problems of word-formation motivation, semantics, structure, and the role of mythological names in I.A. Bunins prose and poetic texts. The aim of the paper is to analyze the connotative potential of different-structured mythological names which are significant for the artistic system of I.A. Bunin. The actual material of the study contains I.A. Bunins poetic texts written in 1888-1952. The main research methods are descriptive, etymological, contextual, semantic methods, and structural analysis. The inventory of more than 700 poetic contexts of I.A. Bunin made it possible to identify 152 mythological names from various sources. The selected units were systematized on four features: semantics, etymology, structure, and frequency of use. The analysis of the connotative potential of some simple, composite and complex mythological names allowed to come to the conclusion that they accumulate additional emotional-evaluative, symbolic meanings. New combinations of meanings, qualitative and quantitative changes in the connotative content of mythological names are provided by the individual authors reinterpretation of primary sources, the complexity of motivational relations between producing units and derivatives, and the semantic environment of a particular unit. Mythological names are associated with the key motifs, themes, ideas, and value oppositions of I.A. Bunins picture of the world. The study of the features of the system of I.A. Bunins mythological names with the tools of linguistics and literary studies, philosophy, and cultural studies is one of the undoubted prospects of research.

Human beings need language as their communication because language as the branch of linguistic. When all people speak in a communication is a process and then, there must be both sender and receiver. Sometimes, all people only talk interaction not only directly interact and something more meaningless. In the branch of linguistics, semantic is the study about all the aspects of meaning outside the grammatical of language which different with morphology and syntax that concern with grammatical of language. In this paper, the writer interest to discuss about semantic analysis on lexical in Pujakesuma because semantics is one of the important aspect in linguistics and lexical of Javanese society nomads in Sumatera Utara (Pujakesuma) is also have different meaning to be analyzed.

Aspect interactions and conflicts are an important issue for AOSD. Aspectual conflicts are difficult to manage and, specifically semantic ones remain an open issue for AOSD. In this work, we present a simple mechanism for handling semantic conflicts at the granularity of aspect and advice in the resource awareness domain. We also analyze the impact of such coordination mechanism on some important properties of software (some of the so called ilities). We found that aspects can effectively be coordinated and remain independent, improving their reusability, modularity and evolvability.

Abstract:
With the prevalence of online review websites, large-scale data promote the necessity of focused analysis. This task aims to capture the information that is highly relevant to a specific aspect. However, the broad scope of the aspects of the various products makes this task overarching but challenging. A commonly used solution is to modify the topic models with additional information to capture the features for a specific aspect (referred to as a targeted aspect). However, the existing topic models, either perform the full analysis to capture features as many as possible or estimate the similarity to capture features as coherent as possible, overlook the fine-grained semantic relations between the features, resulting in the captured features coarse and confusing. In this paper, we propose a novel Hierarchical Features-based Topic Model (HFTM) to extract targeted aspects from online reviews, then to capture the aspect-specific features. Specifically, our model can not only capture the direct features posing target-to-feature semantics but also capture the latent features posing feature-to-feature semantics. The experiments conducted on real-world datasets demonstrate that HFTMl outperforms the state-of-the-art baselines in terms of both aspect extraction and document classification.

Abstract:
Generative grammar was a true revolution in the linguistics. However, to describe language behavior in its semantic essence and universal aspects, generative grammar needs to have a much richer semantic basis. In this paper, we took a novel morpho-syntactic approach to the inflectional phrase to account for the very diverse inflectional phrase qualities in different languages. Some languages show a very different surface verbal inflection, providing evidence of a different mental processing at the semantic level. In fact, the inflectional phrase is a great representative of the mental and semantic processing layers in mind. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the inflectional phrase with a novel approach to take into account this rich verbal inflectional configuration in languages, and to describe why some languages behave in a different way in the spatial and temporal aspect. In this study, we analyzed and discussed the verbal inflectional structure of several languages, including German, Swahili, Persian, English, and Indonesian, and our result is the introduction of a semantic model which provides a much richer insight to the semantics/syntax interplay.

Abstract:
The diversity of applications developed with different programming languages, application/data architectures, database systems and representation of data/information leads to heterogeneity issues. One of the problem challenges in the problem of heterogeneity is about heterogeneity data in term of semantic aspect. The semantic aspect is about data that has the same name with different meaning or data that has a different name with the same meaning. The semantic data mapping process is the best solution in the current days to solve semantic data problem. There are many semantic data mapping technologies that have been used in recent years. This research aims to compare and analyze existing semantic data mapping technology using five criteria’s. After comparative and analytical process, this research provides recommendations of appropriate semantic data mapping technology based on several criteria’s. Furthermore, at the end of this research we apply the recommended semantic data mapping technology to be implemented with the real data in the specific application. The result of this research is the semantic data mapping file that contains all data structures in the application data source. This semantic data mapping file can be used to map, share and integrate with other semantic data mapping from other applications and can also be used to integrate with the ontology language.

Abstract:
The resonant world events of2020 led to an increase in the amount of information on the Internet, including criminal, fake news, and fake negative reviews. False negative information can spread very quickly, and methods are needed to suppress this process. The development of effective algorithms for automatic text analysis is especially relevant today. The most important subtasks include thematic catesorization, sentiment analysis, includins ABSA (aspect-based sentiment analysis). The paper proposes a combined semantic-statistical alsorithm for the aspect analysis of larse texts, based on the use of a semantic graph. The aspect extraction method contains the phases of selectins a set of sisnificant words, calculatins the weishts of the vertices of the semantic sraph by the relaxation method, filterins aspects based on the sradient method. The method proposed allows to extract domain-dependent aspect terms from trainins data. Different aspect term sets extracted from different domains have the same statistical features, and in the same time lexical diversity and structure are taken into account.

The study focuses on the semantic aspects of information, the role of cognitive technologies in the time of information defense, the emergence of new concepts related to information security and protection, cybersecurity, and resilience. It can be argued that information is a complex quantity; measuring information means measuring complexity. Artificial intelligence and problem areas related to this area are also the subject of analysis. We are also looking for an answer to the link between cybernetics and cyber technology and to the popular term “cyber” that has recently become buzzword. Another aspect of the study is various models of data structuring and information protection from the point of view of modern strategies.

Abstract:
The traditional semantic classification in the Manchu-Tungus languages involves the following circumstantial modifiers: with a temporal meaning (the circumstantial modifiers of time), with a locative meaning (the circumstantial modifiers of a place), of manner, of comparison, with the semantics of conditioning (conditions, reasons or goals), and of negative performance (concession and unfulfilled intentions). The circumstantial modifiers of locative and temporal semantics expressed by the noun case forms demonstrate certain “convergences-divergences” and “overlapping” with indirect objects concerning their formal characteristics. However, the semantic features and some positional restrictions in the sentence structure still allow these to be differentiated. The object most often demonstrates a locally restricted action, with the circumstantial modifiers mainly indicating a location or movement in space, the boundaries of which are very conditional and cannot be clearly marked at all.

Abstract:
Language model (LM) has become a common method of transfer learning in Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks when working with small labeled datasets. An LM is pretrained using an easily available large unlabelled text corpus and is fine-tuned with the labelled data to apply to the target (i.e., downstream) task. As an LM is designed to capture the linguistic aspects of semantics, it can be biased to linguistic features. We argue that exposing an LM model during fine-tuning to instances that capture diverse semantic aspects (e.g., topical, linguistic, semantic relations) present in the dataset will improve its performance on the underlying task. We propose a Mixed Aspect Sampling (MAS) framework to sample instances that capture different semantic aspects of the dataset and use the ensemble classifier to improve the classification performance. Experimental results show that MAS performs better than random sampling as well as the state-of-the-art active learning models to abuse detection tasks where it is hard to collect the labelled data for building an accurate classifier.

In this paper, we propose an effective model for aspect-based sentiment analysis. First, we combined a sentiment dictionary and syntactic dependency rules to extract reliable word pairs (sentiment — aspect). Then, thanks to ontology, we grouped those aspects and determined the sentiment polarity of each. When we conducted experiments on real reviews, the system showed positive results.

Abstract:
Abstract In the Aramaic of Daniel, the imperfect expresses past situations 29 times. Scholars have long wrestled with these past time uses, and although important contributions have been made along the way, one of the most salient semantic issues that arise with these uses—the semantic intersection of imperfective aspect and telicity—has been overlooked. This study addresses this issue directly by providing a linguistic analysis of the past imperfective uses of the imperfect that describes their semantics in light of situation aspect and (un)boundedness. This study also describes the past modal use of the imperfect, and offers a linguistic explanation for how the imperfect acquired such a use. Ultimately, this study provides a linguistic analysis of the past time uses of the imperfect that fosters more artful and nuanced readings of the text in light of its semantic and functional sophistication.
