At a French Catholic Secondary School in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, a year long study was carried out to determine the academic and social development of high ability students in a congregated class. Students reported the importance of teachers as a source of interest and inspiration in educational outcomes. Teachers' attempts to help students gain a realistic self-image resulted in some lowering of self-esteem by some students, while questioning of their use of higher abilities helped some students reach a new level of wisdom and personal learning. The need for greater challenges to student higher level thinking skills, more use of mentors and enhanced sense of social responsibility among gifted students were indicated in the study.

Abstract:
“The Tao Te Ching” is the core representative work of Taoist thought, which has had a profound influence on Chinese culture. In the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Taoist thought, Confucianism, and Legalism jointly formed a great ideological trend of contention. Since Dong Zhongshu proposed the idea of “abolishing the hundred schools of thought and only respecting Confucianism” in the Han Dynasty, Confucianism has become the mainstream cultural ideology, and Taoist thought exists only as a supplementary tributary ideology. The great collision of Eastern and Western cultures brought about by the Opium War has caused widespread doubts about Chinese mainstream culture represented by Confucian culture. In the face of the fact that the West is ahead, Chinese people have fallen into unprecedented confusion about their own culture. In 2014, Chinese leaders proposed the concept of Chinese cultural self-confidence, and pointed out that the three sources of Chinese cultural self-confidence are excellent traditional Chinese culture, revolutionary culture, and advanced socialist culture. This article argues that the concept proposed by the Chinese government is not comprehensive for building Chinese cultural self-confidence. Revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture are the summary of China’s own special experience. Other countries do not have similar environments, and traditional culture is dominated by Confucianism. Confucianism cannot even be fully convinced within China. In the era of globalization, if China wants to gain some value recognition in the world to establish confidence, it must propose a doctrine with global value. I believe that the ideas and philosophies contained in the “Tao Te Ching” can effectively communicate between China and the world, help China gain worldwide recognition, and have great significance for enhancing Chinese cultural self-confidence.

Abstract:
The paper addresses the contexts of pedeutology, incidentally revealed in the literature, considering personal development as an important educational element preparing for the role of a teacher. Pedagogy is a praxeological science, linked to continuous development and inspiration search, the acquisition of new theoretical knowledge and methodological skills, supplemented with the development of interpersonal competences and improvement of self-knowledge. Hence, an important element of the academic training of future teachers is personal development classes. It is also necessary to develop a curriculum of courses with the widest possible range of optional workshop classes, which help students build their self-knowledge, recognise and discover their individual areas of self-fulfilment, and develop self-creation competences. The analyses of the narratives of pre-school education students and early childhood pedagogy of the University of Silesia in Katowice show the relevance and efficiency of self-improvement through participation in workshops based on dance and movement, and in other expressive activities, which are indeed an integral part of academic education.

Abstract:
Nature is the primary source of inspiration for human mind. Our world is full of interesting natural phenomena, organisms and systems that are essential for the existence of life on earth. Learning from nature is not a new concept. However, with the passage of time and the advancement of technology, the world has shifted to high tech strategies that are not sustainable in our natural context any more. Hence, scientists and designers are rethinking about sustainable solutions by taking inspiration from nature and with the help of advance technologies. Mathematics of self-similar shapes has existed for centuries. We have now realized that it is a natural phenomenon and is known as fractals. It is found everywhere, from trees to river networks, clouds to coral reefs, lighting to bird’s wings and vascular system of lungs to leaves. Fractals are never ending and infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales. Fractals create infinite complexity but in mathematics, it can be formulated thorough relatively simple equations. The idea is to study leaf morphology to understand the fractal pattern in leaf. Further, we want to explore the properties of leaf fractals so that we can use these arrangements in our architectural design.

Abstract:
Art Nouveau was a global movement that began in the early 1890s and combined two of the most powerful elements in the world: art and nature. Although these two have been associated from the beginning of time, Art Nouveau's significance and impact are far above any earlier attempts. Worldwide, artwork, sculpture, architecture, pottery, and furniture all exhibited this new style. Although there were many supporters and benefactors of Art Nouveau, only a select handful achieved the recognition and distinction of Antoni Gaudí. Sustainability and bio-education have been the hottest topics in the globe today. Hence, providing everyone with a search box for a solution. Let's take a look at the natural world around us, which is a never-ending source of lessons in effectiveness and a never-ending source of architectural inspiration. Moreover, what we actually need is learning, not just inspiration, which comes in second. As a result, and particularly for us as architects, it is within our power and duty to address sustainability in this plot — the architecture — with which we have been entrusted. The paper explores Antonio Gaudí’s philosophies and works, the effectiveness, the bio-learning, the self-sufficiency of nature, and other specific lessons that can be extracted from nature in order to be applied to architecture and to human life itself in order to help understand these inspirations from nature. The masterpieces by Gaudí reveal what made him special: his faultless exploitation of nature, extremely religiously inspired design, and unheard-of modernism. This combination not only helped Gaudí become famous around the world, but it also helped Art Nouveau become one of the most significant trends in art and architectural history.

“Operation Sick Bay” was the inspiration of the 3 full-time nurses at Framingham High School, which has a population of 1,800 students and 300 teachers and staff. The primary focus of Operation Sick Bay was to create a health services environment conducive to learning about health and illness, developing lifetime skills in self-help and self-care, providing a restful atmosphere, and involving students and staff in taking pride in their school health services center. The “sick bays” are small units with privacy curtain closures used for students who need to lie down because of illness. There are 3 bays for female students and 3 for male students. Instead of the usual cream-colored walls, the project provided the opportunity to create a colorful environment designed to provide health information to students.

Abstract:
The rapid development of information technology has promoted the growth of deep learning, artificial intelligence, and big data technology. Nowadays, the artistic form of traditional opera creation is accepted and respected by people—more and more people like the art form. However, the artistic creation of traditional opera needs inspiration. The essence of inspiration creation is to reconstruct its objective structure. The deep learning algorithm’s essence is to extract all of the attributes of sample self-learning input data and use them as inspiration for artistic production. First, this paper briefly introduces the deep learning and evolution strategy and uses these algorithms in opera art creation to construct 1 + λ. With the help of this evolutionary algorithm, an optimal solution is obtained through random evolution. The evolution strategy establishes the evolution function matrix. Starting from the situation of students learning opera art, this article examines the process of creating opera art using an in-depth learning and evolution technique. The results show that 96 percent of the students have contact with opera while watching an opera tour. During this, they were not interested in the performance of literary drama in traditional opera. However, it was noticed that they were deeply interested in martial arts, clown performances, and drama stage performances. Finally, the audience group of opera artistic creation is analyzed in the form of opera animation of “A Journey to the West: The Return of the Great Sage.” It signifies that the opera’s leading audience group is aged 25 to 29. However, they account for only 30 percent.

Abstract:
The goals of this research study were to determine if clergy members were prone to experiencing compassion fatigue and to identify the self-care methods they currently employ. Compassion fatigue can affect anyone in a helping profession and is considered to be a component of burnout. With the use of qualitative interviews, the views of pastors will be used to explain their understanding of compassion fatigue and their implementation of self-care. Data will also be collected to describe the methods of self-care the clergy members utilize when their levels of compassion fatigue presentation are prominent. Audio information gathered from the interviews, and demographic, compassion satisfaction and self-care surveys will be used, and a thematic and phenomena analysis will be created to analyze the data collected. This research will contribute to the collaborative efforts of churches and social workers to increase public awareness of compassion fatigue and self-care deficits that pastors are experiencing and that churches are observing within their faith communities. This can be beneficial in helping communities to effect positive change within the community.

The present study has as main theme the relations between communication, consumption and entrepreneurial culture, and as object of study the biographical and autobiographical narratives of Brazilian entrepreneurs, in this case, Bel Pesce and Flávio Augusto da Silva, present in its multiple digital media supports. We aim to understand how these agents resignify self-help literature in contemporary times, conceiving what we denominate “entrepreneurial self-help” (CASAQUI, 2017a). On the agenda, there is the maximum recurrence that everyone can, and should, be entrepreneurs regardless of any personal or financial barrier. In this scenario, it was possible to understand that these discourses intend to consolidate “conduct models” (EHRENBERG, 2010) that reinforce the idea of “selfentrepreneurship” and high performance as essential qualities to achieve success. Such discourses present themselves as “recipes”, prescriptions based on “exemplary life histories”, reiterating the logics of justification of the new “spirit of capitalism” (BOLTANSKI; CHIAPELLO, 2009). It is also through the production and circulation of these narratives in the media that these entrepreneurial agents become contemporary celebrities, and it’s the final proof that legitimates their advices. Therefore, we propose a critical view of this phenomenon, in order to understand how the discursivity is constructed in these entrepreneur’s life histories, through the Discourse Analysis theoretical-methodological proposal, based on Foucault’s discursive categories (2008b), related to life course’s analysis proposed by Giele and Elder Jr. (1998). The discourses, in the “foucaultian approach”, are practices that operate in the “leading of conduct”. Regarding the findings of the analyzed discourses, it was possible to perceive the following characteristics: the testimony as a discourse format; the constitution of a biographical space (ARFUCH, 2010); the mission of prescribing conducts and moral profiles through the inspiration (understood as culture and as communicational process); “entrepreneurial self-help” as the main discursive strategy; moral attributes constituent of the entrepreneurial culture as overcoming challenges (daily and business), goals, passion for work, to justify entrepreneurship as the best alternative for the construction of a “better world”, an “entrepreneurial society” (DRUCKER, 2011). In summary, entrepreneurship, as na economic and social conduct, allows the current neoliberal system to include more subjects in their rationalities, processes and, self-blame.

The aim of present study was to explore the experience of hope from rehabilitation to employment, and to describe the helpful interactions with professionals in terms of experiences on hope from perspectives of people with psychiatric disabilities. Construct paradigm of qualitative research was adopted in this study. Through purposeful sampling, two female and two male participants with psychiatric disability with mean age of thirty-three year-old were recruited in this study. The years of employee in our participants were from eleven months to nine years. Based on Hermeneutic methodology, thematic analysis was conducted to analyze the qualitative data by in-depth interviews and filed notes. Inner energy, autonomy and inspiration by support were the nature of hope experienced by our participants. Hope came up during rehabilitation after active treatment for psychotic symptoms. When participants gained stronger confidence after rehabilitation, they were more likely to accept and arrange their own life. Medical care and routine outpatient visits had the most impacts on development of hope and followed by positive thinking. The resource of hope was a stable job. Interacting with hope-inspiring professionals were just like experiences with a soul-mate who is touching and has emotional connection. They restarted to regained selves and be empowered. Via professional assistants, the participants were lead to obtain right information, to find directions and goals. Ideal traits and capacities of professional could contribute to development and maintenance of hope, including acceptance and caring, trust, self-disclosure and humor, whereas coercion and confrontation could obstruct the development and maintenance of hope. Briefly speaking, our results echoed previous studies that hope is about strength and empowerment. It is very important to emphasize facilitation and maintenance of hope in further rehabilitation program. Empirical evidence should be proved in further study.

Abstract:
Abstract This chapter can help you to become more hopeful in your quest for mastery. This chapter is not about get-rich-quick schemes, ill-advised power plays, or stock formulas for immediate gratification. Instead, we hope to provide a more transcendent and enduring set of principles for directing your life with greater clarity and purpose. To develop a true sense of mastery, an individual must have a will for hope, a feeling of mediated power, and one or more guiding aspirations. In our discussion of these and other mastery-related skills, we take into consideration some of the advice provided by self-help gurus as well as by the scientific literature on motivation and goal attainment. In addition, you will find a wealth of mastery-related insights culled from varied philosophical perspectives and spiritual belief systems. Combining these various sources of wisdom, we offer a four-fold strategy for hope-based mastery. But beyond strategy, you must also have a sense of purpose that is continuously guided and nurtured. Thus, in the second part of this chapter, we explore various ways of drawing inspiration from within yourself and from outside sources. We also discuss how to provide inspiration to others, to learn from previous successes or failures, and to find inspiration through dreams.

This chapter explores how Avery Dulles, with his rich reflections on faith, revelation, and inspiration, is the perfect dialogue partner for an examination of the mutually informing belongings of both family members and Church members. Dulles's uplifting of the importance of experience at the point where our lives intersect with God's mystery can help us to see that the Church and the family bring about what they represent and can help us encounter God's self-communication and the mystery of Christ. In the same way that Dulles's models of the Church help shed light on revelation, as ultimately mysterious as it remains, so, too, does the image of the family as a domestic church help shed light on the Church, revelation, and the relationship between members of families and the entire Church. Indeed, Dulles posits the importance of images for the life of the Church, its preaching, its liberty, and its general feelings of common identity and loyalty. Images help to capture and inspire the Catholic imagination.

Abstract:
Abstract Chapter 3 investigates how female musicians commodify their personal style as clothing designers by using other women’s personal style as creative inspiration. This practice is described as citational feminism and positioned alongside the grimmer realities of global fashion manufacturing’s labor conditions, which often relies on the exploitation of environmental resources and garment workers. Rapper M.I.A.’s fraught relationship to the fashion industry is analyzed. In the mid-2000s, the Sri Lankan-British performer and producer helped revive b-girl aesthetics in her music videos and self-presentation. She later parlayed her image into spokesmodel contracts for luxury brands like Marc Jacobs and tried to launch her own clothing line, Okley Run, before partnering with established brands to help offset the financial costs of clothing manufacture while positioning herself as a transnational style icon, particularly through her motivic use of forgery and upcycling in her bootleg-themed 2013 Versus capsule collection, her 2016 H&M “Rewear It” campaign, and her 2017 athleisure line with Astrid Andersen.

Abstract:
Abstract Writing (“Aerosol Art”) is more than an inspiration for some Hip Hop dance practitioners. For those that combine the various elements in Hip Hop, the relationship between them is the generative impulse for creation. In the quest to create a personal signature in the city, Hip Hop arts express not only the visual name but also the rhythm of the letters, and how their movement connects to space and time. YNOT’s output as a B-boy is the result of investigations into other art forms and cultural backgrounds. The chapter identifies some of the practices of iconic artists that inspired YNOT’s output, such as RAMM:ELL:ZEE, Donald “DONDI” White, Jeffrey “DOZE” Green, and Jorge “POP MASTER” FABEL. It discusses how art schools are often places to gather and experiment and have contributed to creativity in Hip Hop culture. Understanding and relating the structures of art forms can deepen art practices and help decolonize disciplines. This chapter examines Hip Hop methodologies while showing how the integrity of this work is connected to knowledge of self and openness to divergent experiences.

Abstract:
This chapter analyzes the poetry and prose of Assata: An Autobiography and contextualizes the memoir within the revolutionary aesthetics Black Power vernacular and the political realities of northern Blue Power in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It examines the feminized rhetorical strategies in Assata that help to circulate Black Power activism. Like Mumia Abu-Jamal, Shakur situates herself as a leader and as a martyr using nostalgia for Black Power leaders as inspiration for the activism ahead. She uses black history as a rhetorical resource for new political action and highlights the importance of cultural nationalism. In addition, she commits herself to self-defense and Third World solidarity through a gendered articulation of the Black Power vernacular. Shakur’s vernacular is mobile, flexible, and global as she uses the history of slavery in the U.S. and colonialism abroad to explain the BLA’s resistance to “law and order” culture. Finally, she explains the historical and contemporary exigencies that prompt continued action, including police brutality, the expansion of the prison-industrial complex, judicial corruption, and false accusations of cop killing. Still in print, Assata demands a place for Shakur’s narrative among the prison manifestos of the Black Power movement.

Abstract:
Without assuming prior legal knowledge, books in the Directions series introduce and guide readers through key points of law and legal debate. Questions, discussion points, and thinking points help readers to engage fully with each subject and check their understanding as they progress and knowledge can be tested by self-test questions and exam questions at the chapter end. This chapter explores the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. It also tackles the general idea of legally protected human rights, which gained momentum towards the end of the Second World War. The United Nations was an inspiration, specifically the organisation’s Charter that adopted the Universal Declaration on Human Rights in 1948. After 1945, the goal was reconstruction, removing the causes of war, and providing protection from any threat a totalitarian government potentially poses. In this regard, two main solutions were adopted: the European Union and the Council of Europe. The chapter aims to distinguish between these two solutions. The principal focus of the chapter is on the Convention system and the obligations of the states which have agreed to its requirements. The nature of the Court and the process of taking a claim through its procedures is explored, as is the system of enforcement.

Abstract:
Pierre Omidyar’s self-composed one-line autobiography reads: “Technologist, founder of eBay, trying to make the world a better place.” As his life’s progression suggests, of the many 1990s Internet billionaires, Omidyar’s disposition and outlook may most truly reflect the ethos of the West Coast. During his early “technologist” period he had a pony tail, wore aviator sunglasses, and worshipped the Apple Macintosh. It was during this period, in 1995, that he started eBay in his spare time, as a kind of hobby. “It was just an idea that I had, and I started it as an experiment, as a side hobby basically, while I had my day job.” In media legend the inspiration was his fiancée, Pam, who wanted to meet like-minded collectors of PEZ dispensers. But Omidyar’s account of his company’s origins emphasizes a different point. “The whole idea there was just to help people do business with one another on the Internet. And people thought it was impossible because how could people on the Internet—remember this is 1995— how could they trust each other? How could they get to know each other? And I thought that was silly. . . . [P]eople are basically good [and] honest.” It didn’t take long for eBay to realize that not everyone was good and honest: As this chapter shows, eBay quickly learned that to prevent fraud, enforce its contracts, and ensure stability in its auction services, it would depend critically on government coercion and the rule of law provided by a stable country like the United States. These are a few of the many complex benefits that only territorial sovereigns can bring, and without which most aspects of the Internet that we love and cherish would not exist. In this chapter and throughout part 3, we study these largely hidden virtues of government control of the Internet. As the story of China has already made clear, and as we discuss further in what follows, government control of the Internet is not always a happy prospect, for governments often rule unwisely and often clash with one another in destructive ways. Our aim in this part is to give a balanced account of these virtues and vices, and to show how the future of the Internet will be shaped by domestic politics and international relations, as interest groups and countries fight for control and influence over the once-borderless medium.

Abstract:
Abstract System Engineering education typically includes content to help students learn to design and engineer large, complex systems in a structured way. In this paper, we describe the outcomes of introducing a human-centered design tool, the Inspiration Design Toolkit (IDT), to encourage students to think non-linearly. The IDT is an educational resource consisting of a deck of illustrated cards that contain provocative questions, reflection messages and icons, applicative examples, and key takeaways on microlearning units. The aim of the IDT is to improve the participants’ learning experience and course engagement, increase opportunities for them to interact with their peers and teaching team, enable them to practice and reinforce the concepts through the creation of their own IDT cards, and share the cards in the discussion to increase learners’ engagement with course material and peers. We designed the IDT for an MIT online course on System Thinking. We collected, analyzed, and synthesized qualitative and quantitative feedback from 171 course participants. Our findings suggest that IDT provides learners with a digital asset that allows them to reinforce and recall the course takeaways, and apply them to other contexts. For future research, we want to understand how learners like and use IDT through demographic differences and preferred self-identified learning styles. We discuss how these findings may help educators consider critical design principles and for creating a digital self-learning toolkit connected to the course content and increasing its content adaptability.

Abstract:
Objective: To explore the feasibility and utility of a tolerance break (T-break) guide on young adults' cannabis use. Participants: Young adults aged 18-29 (n=125) who were current cannabis users. Methods: Participants recruited through posters and listservs at various universities were offered the T-Break Guide to help complete a 21-day cannabis break. Bivariate analyses examined associations between Guide use and follow-up measures. Intervention: The T-Break Guide was designed to help people complete a 21-day break from cannabis. For each day of the break, the Guide offers inspiration in the form of a quote, reflections based on likely experiences occurring at that point during the break, advice on ways to overcome challenges, alternative activities in which to engage, and encouragement. The first week focuses on physical symptoms of cannabis withdrawal (e.g., sleep, appetite); the second week focuses on the emotional experience (e.g., anxiety, boredom); and the third week focuses on behavioral aspects (e.g., examining patterns, connections). The T-Break Guide follows the Motivational Interviewing principles of affirmation and autonomy. Results: Compared to non-Guide users, participants who used the Guide “a lot” were more likely to complete the 21-day abstinence break (84% vs. 57%), revise their personal definition of balance to mean less cannabis (84% vs. 62%), and plan a future break (32% vs. 11%). Conclusion: Use of this self-directed Guide may help young adults take a break from cannabis use and reduce future use, and offers a novel approach to cannabis harm reduction. Further research to test the Guide’s longer-term efficacy is needed.

Abstract:
Product dissection is a popular educational tool in engineering design due to its ability to help students understand the components and sub-components of a product, provide inspiration for new design ideas, and aid in product redesign. While prior research has investigated how dissecting a product before idea generation impacts the creative output of the ideation session, these studies failed to look at the types of ideas generated before dissection or how the type of product dissected impacts this. In addition, few studies have looked at how creative self-efficacy (CSE), or one’s belief in their creative ability, is influenced by these intervention activities. Thus, the current study was developed to respond to these research voids through an exploratory study with engineering design students. The results of the study suggest that virtual dissection helps students generate a larger variety of ideas after the activity at the physical principle, working principle, and embodiment levels, and that the complexity of the dissected product impacts variation at the embodiment level. In addition, CSE was not affected by the dissection activity. These results strongly support the utilization and implementation of dissection practices in engineering education as a means for aiding students in the expansion of the solution space in the early stages of design. They also bring attention to the need to explore the exact cause-effect relationship between innovation interventions and student confidence gains in their creative abilities.

Abstract:
Abstract Lung supportive devices are widely used for non-invasive positive airway pressure ventilation and respiratory therapy to help provide breathing support for patients with various lung diseases including Obstructive Sleep Apnea. These devices deliver air to the patient through a facial or nasal mask, and the use of these devices normally results in dryness in the upper airways. However, the exhaled air consists of very high humidity content hence the moisture content of this air can be reused in the inhalation process. This research focuses on testing clinically a previously developed element which can recover the moisture from the exhaled air and use it for re-inhalation. 21 healthy volunteers between the ages of 21 and 55, where 38.1% were females and 61.9% males, were invited to participate in this study. The results show a viable element which is able to trap water molecules from the expiration airflow and release them into the inspiration airflow.

Abstract:
The healthcare sector has undergone significant transformation in recent years, driven by the adoption of advanced medical technologies like IoT, Cloud Computing, and Big Data. This evolution began with the integration of electronic health records and has expanded to encompass a wide range of digital tools, from medical apps to wearables. These technological advancements have played a crucial role in enhancing patient experiences and outcomes. As healthcare technology has become increasingly interconnected, both physically and in the cyber realm, it has evolved into vast Health Care Information Infrastructures (HCIIs). These HCIIs are of paramount importance due to their critical role in people's well-being and safety. Any disruption, whether through direct actions like medical errors, or indirect actions such as altering patient records can have severe consequences for patient health. Currently, HCIIs are vulnerable because they often rely on isolated cybersecurity products. There is a pressing need to establish a comprehensive security strategy that can coordinate various security components to detect system vulnerabilities and sophisticated attacks. To address this complex challenge, it is essential to break down cybersecurity concerns in the healthcare sector based on the criticality of their assets. Prioritizing emerging solutions in this manner will help mitigate the complexity of the problem. Cyberattacks on the healthcare sector have become increasingly sophisticated and involve not only technical vulnerabilities but also social engineering tactics that exploit individuals with limited technical knowledge. European health and cybersecurity experts must collaborate to develop policies and standards that elevate security maturity throughout the EU. Ultimately, cybersecurity solutions in healthcare should not only enhance security but also have a positive business impact, enabling new services, collaborations, and market opportunities. The proposed solution in this study, represents a state-of-the-art approach to enhancing cybersecurity within HCIIs. It improves the detection and analysis of cyber threats and increases awareness of privacy and security risks in the digital healthcare ecosystem. By providing a Dynamic Situational Awareness Framework, the solution empowers stakeholders in the healthcare sector to recognize, model, and respond to cyber risks, including advanced persistent threats and daily cybersecurity incidents. Additionally, it facilitates the secure exchange of incident-related information aiming to strengthen the security and resilience of modern digital healthcare systems and the associated medical supply chain services. The proposed solution extends the frontiers of various research fields, including security engineering, privacy engineering, and artificial intelligence. Drawing inspiration from biological swarm formations, it brings together these disciplines to empower stakeholders in digital healthcare ecosystems. This leads to the creation of a highly interconnected and advanced intelligence system, comprised of simple nodes or groups of nodes, enabling local interactions and management of healthcare environments. By employing bio-inspired techniques and large-group decision-making models, the framework enhances communication and coordination in complex, distributed networks typical of interconnected healthcare infrastructures. It prioritizes scalability and fault-tolerance, allowing coordinated actions without a central coordinator. This approach streamlines investigation activities within healthcare ecosystems, fostering dynamic intelligence and collective decision-making, even when individual nodes lack a complete view of the situation.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Driven by the ambition to accelerate women readiness to take on leadership roles, we created a homegrown mentoring program named WISE (Women Inspiring, Supporting, and Empowering each other). WISE fosters engagement, collaboration, and networking among women within our organization. This paper outlines the reasons why we created WISE four (4) years ago, highlights how our program is keeping strong and demonstrates how WISE serves as an effective engagement strategy, enabling gender partnership in advancing female talent in our organization. Methods, Procedures, Process We have designed our program around discussions on habits that are usually holding women back in their career development. We are using a book entitled "How Women Rise" (by Sally Helgesen and Marshall Goldsmith) to foster self-awareness and discussions in the sessions. We have added practical sessions such as building and practicing an elevator speech, reflecting on habit change using the "Atomic Habits" book from James Clear and engagement with external inspirational female leaders. We have onboarded more than 80 mentors and 800 mentees globally. The mentees are all female employees, and the mentors are senior and esteemed leaders (both male and female). We have developed an online training program for the mentors and the core team of WISE holds monthly sessions with the mentors to debrief on their experience and share lessons learned. Mentees enroll in mentoring circles, via a digital platform, based on a preferred time zone and topic. These sessions are a safe space for women to share experiences and access resources related to one of the 12 habits discussed in the book mentioned above. Through these sessions mentees widen their perspective and leave with a sense of action on a small change they can practice helping to grow beyond the habit. These sessions also create a wide opportunity for networking and visibility. These one-hour virtual sessions, along with other networking events, help them to enhance their emotional intelligence; increase their confidence; and accelerate their personal and professional growth. The mentoring circles are facilitated by diverse, experienced, and qualified mentors, within the company. Continuous improvement surveys provide feedback for mentors on monthly basis. Certainly, WISE success is a result of the passion felt by the women carrying this initiative. This success is resting on the shoulder of the women designing, running, and maintaining the program behind the scenes and on the commitment and quality of the mentors leading the sessions. Results, Observations, Conclusions Promoting opportunities for women to succeed in the workplace is essential in today's industry. Programs like WISE play a key role in advancing female talent and empowering women to reach their full potential. At SLB, we are proud of our commitment to diversity and the impact that WISE has had on over 800 women from all functions and operations in 60+ locations, making our workforce stronger than ever. We would love to discuss this exciting initiative further with you at the upcoming ADIPEC event and explore potential partnerships to expand this program.
