Abstract:

Abstract:
45 Background: In 1974, Giulio D' Angio,MD, stated “Cure Is Not Enough” and the concept of Survivorship was ignited. Multidisciplinary survivorship clinics have since become a mainstay of many pediatric cancer programs; few such clinics exist in adult cancer programs, especially in community practice. We report on the development of a survivorship care plan and a community-based clinic designed to provide guideline-driven after care for cancer survivors. Methods: An overview of the vision and mission of the Bone Secours St. Francis Cancer Center Survivorship Program is provided. Descriptive analysis of the components and metrics of success are provided, in the context of accrediting organizations requirements for current and future goals for survivorship care. Results: BSSF, which is a non-academic, community-based cancer program, and receives over 1300 referrals annually from a referral population of 1.32 million in 10 counties. St. Francis , accredited by both the Commission on Cancer and National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, has been providing cancer‐related services to the Upstate South Carolina region for a decade. The survivorship program at St. Francis is a STAR‐certified program and is a patient‐centered service provided in a comprehensive and coordinated multidisciplinary team approach, including integrated psychologic care. A custom survivorship care plan was developed and efforts, including successes and barriers, to implementation of plans for all cancer survivors in accordance with CoC and NAPBC goals are addressed. Conclusions: The BSSF Cancer Center Survivorship Program has developed a practical, yet comprehensive SCP, which is risk-adapted and guideline-driven in order to provide customized survivorship education and monitoring. The MDC provides comprehensive evaluations and recommendations in order to maximize health and well-being of patients navigating life after cancer diagnosis and treatment. Our efforts have demonstrated that survivorship clinics of this nature can be established and successful in a non-academic community setting.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Context The King-Devick (KD) test has received considerable attention in the literature as an emerging concussion assessment. However, important test psychometric properties remain to be addressed in large-scale independent studies. Objective To assess (1) test-retest reliability between trials, (2) test-retest reliability between years 1 and 2, and (3) reliability of the 2 administration modes. Design Cross-sectional study. Setting Collegiate athletic training facilities. Patients or Other Participants A total of 3248 intercollegiate student-athletes participated in year 1 (male = 55.3%, age = 20.2 ± 2.3 years, height = 1.78 ± 0.11 m, weight = 80.7 ± 21.0 kg) and 833 participated in both years. Main Outcome Measure(s) Time, in seconds, to complete the KD error free. The KD test reliability was assessed between trials and between annual tests over 2 years and stratified by test modality (spiral-bound cards [n = 566] and tablet [n = 264]). Results The KD test was reliable between trials (trial 1 = 43.2 ± 8.3 seconds, trial 2 = 40.8 ± 7.8 seconds; intraclass correlation coefficient [ICC] (2,1) = 0.888, P < .001), between years (year 1 = 40.8 ± 7.4 seconds, year 2 = 38.7 ± 7.7 seconds; ICC [2,1] = 0.827, P < .001), and for both spiral-bound cards (ICC [2,1] = 0.834, P < .001) and tablets (ICC [2,1] = 0.827, P < .001). The mean change between trials for a single test was −2.4 ± 3.8 seconds. Although most athletes improved from year 1 to year 2, 27.1% (226 of 883) of participants demonstrated worse (slower) KD times (3.2 ± 3.9 seconds) in year 2. Conclusions The KD test was reliable between trials and years and when stratified by modality. A small improvement of 2 seconds was identified with annual retesting, likely due to a practice effect; however, 27% of athletes displayed slowed performance from year 1 to year 2. These results suggest that the KD assessment was a reliable test with modest learning effects over time and that the assessment modality did not adversely affect baseline reliability.

Abstract:
Background: Inter-hospital communication frequently requires mediation via a switchboard. Identifying and eliminating switchboard inefficiencies may improve patient care. Methods: All 175 acute hospital switchboards in England were contacted six times. Call contents and duration were recorded. No clinician calls or bleeps were connected. Results: The mean delay before contacting a switchboard operative was 55±46 seconds. 115 hospitals (66%) used automated switchboards; 34 of these (30%) had infection control messages. Robot operators introduced an additional 40 second delay versus humans (mean 70.3±28 versus 29.8±23 seconds, p<0.0001). Multivariate analysis identified robot operators (HR 5.1, p<0.0001) and infection control messages (HR 2.9, p=0.003) as predictors of delays over 60 seconds. Conclusions: There are significant avoidable delays in contacting switchboard operatives across England. Quality improvement is underway.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Analysis of video footage taken of crown fires during the 1988 fire season in Yellowstone National Park indicated that the most frequent length of time required to completely burn tree crowns was 15-20 seconds. Lodge-pole pine (Pinus contorta Laws.) seeds were tested for ability to germinate after exposing both serotinous and nonserotinous cones for 10 to 60 seconds in a flame front designed to simulate a crown fire. Heating enhanced germination of seeds from serotinous cones but not those from nonserotinous cones. Maximum germination rates for serotinous cone seeds ranged from 37 to 64 percent and occurred after 10-20 seconds exposure of cones to flames. Germination after 60 seconds exposure averaged 0.3 to 14 percent. Maximum germination of seeds from nonserotinous cones (about 80%) occurred with no exposure and after 10 seconds in the flames.

Abstract:
Background and Purpose Patients with acute large vessel occlusion (LVO) presenting with mild stroke symptoms are at risk of early neurological deterioration (END). This study aimed to identify the optimal imaging variables for predicting END in this population. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 94 patients from the prospectively maintained institutional stroke registry admitted between January 2011 and May 2019, presenting within 24 hours after onset, with a baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score ≤5 and anterior circulation LVO. Patients who underwent endovascular therapy before END were excluded. Volumes of Tmax delay (at >2, >4, >6, >8, and >10 seconds), mismatch (Tmax >4 seconds – diffusion-weighted imaging [DWI] and Tmax >6 seconds – DWI), and mild hypoperfusion lesions (Tmax 2–6 and 4–6 seconds) were measured. The association of each variable with END was examined using receiver operating characteristic curves. The variables with best predictive performance were dichotomized at the cutoff point maximizing Youden’s index and subsequently analyzed using multivariable logistic regression. Results END occurred in 39.4% of the participants. The optimal variables were identified as Tmax >6 seconds, Tmax >6 seconds – DWI, and Tmax 4–6 seconds with cut-off points of 53.73, 32.77, and 55.20 mL, respectively. These variables were independently associated with END (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 12.78 [95% confidence interval (CI), 3.36 to 48.65]; aOR, 5.73 [95% CI, 2.04 to 16.08]; and aOR, 9.13 [95% CI, 2.76 to 30.17], respectively). Conclusions Tmax >6 seconds, Tmax >6 seconds – DWI, and Tmax 4–6 seconds could identify patients at high risk of END following minor stroke due to LVO.

Abstract:
Abstract In late nineteenth-century English Canada, particularly in Ontario, national identity and discourses of loyalty were frequently linked to Canadian history in general and. specifically, the legacy of the War of 1812. The commemoration of this war was especially important for those writers and historians who wished to maintain the country's link to Britain for, during this conflict, the colonial population had supposedly demonstrated their loyalty and devotion to Britain by helping to repulse American attacks. Both "national" historians and those who were members of the local historical societies that emerged in the 1880s wrote about the war and, in particular, male military heroes such as Major-General Isaac Brock. However, during this period a female symbol of national identity and loyalty to Britain also emerged, that of Laura Secord. While both male and female historians were interested in Secord, it was largely through the efforts of Anglo-Celtic, upper- and middle-class women that Secord became a heroine of the War of 1812. Many of these women were firm supporters of imperialism and the maintenance of British traditions in Canada, as well as being active in women's suffrage groups and other, related causes such as temperance. Their celebrations of Secord's walk and the narratives which they constructed about her contribution to Upper Canadian loyalty are significant not only for their recognition of women s contribution to Canadian history; they also help illustrate the relationships of gender, race, and imperialism in Canadian feminist and nationalist discourses.

Abstract:
Purpose: To profile sprint endurance performance of elite-level female soccer players. Methods: Twenty-five female national-team soccer players (age 25.1 [2.7] y, body mass 59.6 [3.6] kg, height 168.5 [4.1] cm) were tested for sprint endurance, performing 5 maximal sprints, interspersed with 30 seconds of active recovery (5 × 30 m) and a 30-second all-out shuttle run in a soccer pitch. The Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test level 1 (YYIR1) evaluated intermittent high-intensity endurance under the same field-testing conditions. Maximal anaerobic capacity was assessed while participants performed three 10-second all-out bouts separated by 20 seconds of passive recovery (3 × 10 s) on a nonmotorized treadmill. Results: Huge interplayer variability was observed for sprint decrements in 3 × 10 seconds (coefficient of variation = 37%) and 5 × 30 m (coefficient of variation = 62%). The 3 × 10 performance was largely associated with 5 × 30-m mean and best time and very largely with 30 seconds. A very large and nearly perfect correlation was observed between 30 seconds and 5 × 30 mMean (r = −.86) and 5 × 30 mBest (r = −.92), respectively. The YYIR1 was moderately to largely associated with 5 × 30-m variables and 30 seconds, respectively. A nearly perfect association was observed between 5 × 30 mBest and 5 × 30 mMean (r = .97). Conclusions: Elite female soccer players’ sprint endurance variables are characterized by remarkable variability. Associations between sprint endurance variables suggest physiological interdependence and a likelihood of a general ability in sustaining sprinting in this population.

Abstract:
According to fire statistics analysis of the nation's fire department between 2015–2019, the most common cause of fire was electrical fire. As reported, 47,135 fires were caused by electricity, 22,852 were caused by mechanical causes, and 871 were caused by gas leakages. In this study, the fire adaptability of microcapsulated fire extinguishing agents was tested against small space electrical fires, such as electrical distribution boards. The tests showed that the fire extinguishing agent inside the capsule was released after initial fire contact and the fire of n-heptane was extinguished within 4.48 seconds (on average). Therefore, the KFI small space B-level fire extinguishing test by the Korea Institute of Fire and Industry met the criteria that the fire was extinguished and did not reoccur within 90 s after the end of the preliminary combustion. In addition, this fire extinguisher (agent) dramatically improved the volume of existing cylinder-type fire extinguishers for small spaces. However, there are no national fire safety codes (NFSCs) for this agent. Therefore, it is necessary to enact fire safety standards for this agent for smooth-field applications.

Abstract:
AbstractBackground:Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is a life-threatening condition with an overall survival rate that generally does not exceed 10%. Several factors play essential roles in increasing survival among patients experiencing cardiac arrest outside the hospital. Previous studies have reported that implementing a dispatcher-assisted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (DA-CPR) program increases bystander CPR, quality of chest compressions, and patient survival. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a DA-CPR program developed by the Thailand National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEMS).Methods:This was an experimental study using a manikin model. The participants comprised both health care providers and non-health care providers aged 18 to 60 years. They were randomly assigned to either the DA-CPR group or the uninstructed CPR (U-CPR) group and performed chest compressions on a manikin model for two minutes. The sequentially numbered, opaque, sealed envelope method was used for randomization in blocks of four with a ratio of 1:1.Results:There were 100 participants in this study (49 in the DA-CPR group and 51 in the U-CPR group). Time to initiate chest compressions was statistically significantly longer in the DA-CPR group than in the U-CPR group (85.82 [SD = 32.54] seconds versus 23.94 [SD = 16.70] seconds; P <.001). However, the CPR instruction did not translate into better performance or quality of chest compressions for the overall sample or for health care or non-health care providers. Conclusion:Those in the CPR-trained group applied chest compressions (initiated CPR) more quickly than those who initiated CPR based upon dispatch-based CPR instructions.

Abstract:
Background: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) offers therapeutic options in refractory respiratory and/or cardiac failure. Systemic anticoagulation with heparin is routinely administered. However, in patients with heparin-induced thrombocytopenia or heparin resistance, the direct thrombin inhibitor bivalirudin is a valid option and has been increasingly used for ECMO anticoagulation. We aimed at evaluating its safety and its optimal dosing for ECMO. Methods: Systematic web-based literature search of PubMed and EMBASE performed via National Health Service Library Evidence and manually, updated until January 30, 2016. Results: The search revealed 8 publications relevant to the topic (5 case reports). In total, 58 patients (24 pediatrics) were reported (18 received heparin as control groups). Bivalirudin was used with or without loading dose, followed by infusion at different ranges (lowest 0.1-0.2 mg/kg/h without loading dose; highest 0.5 mg/kg/h after loading dose). The strategies for monitoring anticoagulation and optimal targets were dissimilar (activated partial thromboplastin time 45-60 seconds to 42-88 seconds; activated clotting time 180-200 seconds to 200-220 seconds; thromboelastography in 1 study). Conclusion: Bivalirudin loading dose was not always used; infusion range and anticoagulation targets were different. In this systematic review, we discuss the reasons for this variability. Larger studies are needed to establish the optimal approach with the use of bivalirudin for ECMO.

Abstract:
The existence of information is undeniably needed by many people. This statement describes the increasing importance of information and the corresponding increase in the need for access to relevant documents and literature. The contents of the information derived from these documents are then sorted to make their meaning more understandable. This sorting process is known as stemming. Stemming is a process that is widely applied in basic word searches. Separating meaningless words can make information clearer. It is necessary to pay attention to the appropriate stemming algorithm according to the language used. Many stemming algorithms can be used to perform this basic word search process. Some of them are the Tala and Nazief Adriani algorithms. The two algorithms have differences in their work processes. The Tala algorithm adopts a rule-based Porter algorithm, while the Nazief & Adriani algorithm works based on a dictionary. The two algorithms have their respective advantages in terms of accuracy and speed. Therefore, in this study, an analysis will be carried out by comparing the performance of the two algorithms in the Indonesian language text-stemming process. The trial process uses several different data sources to measure the speed and accuracy of each algorithm. Data sources used in this study included abstracts of student thesis reports or final assignments of 30 students and information from online news as many as 200. From the results of the tests that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the Tala stemming algorithm has a lower accuracy level than Nazief Adriani. The Tala algorithm only has an average accuracy of 65.29%, while Nazief Adriani has an accuracy of 78.47%. Regarding speed, the Tala algorithm has a better speed than Nazief Adriani at 32.19 seconds and Nazief & Adriani at 65.2 seconds.

Abstract:
Objective To determine which mode and potency of electrocoagulation, using a modern electrosurgical generator, yields the smallest unobstructed area of the Fallopian tubes. Methods In an experimental study, tubes from 48 hysterectomies or tubal ligation were evaluated. Tubes were randomly allocated to one of the following groups: group A) 25 W x 5 seconds (n = 17); group B) 30 W x 5 seconds (n = 17); group C) 35 W x 5 seconds (n = 18), group D) 40 W x 5 seconds (n = 20); group E) 40 W x 5 seconds with visual inspection (blanch, swells, collapse) (n = 16); group F) 50 W x 5 seconds (n = 8). Bipolar electrocoagulation was performed in groups A to E, and monopolar electrocoagulation was performed in group F. Coagulation mode was used in all groups. Digital photomicrography of the transversal histological sections of the isthmic segment of the Fallopian tube were taken, and the median percentage of unobstructed luminal area (mm2) was measured with ImageJ software (ImageJ, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA). The Kruskal-Wallis test or analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used for statistical analysis. Results Ninety-six Fallopian tube sections were analyzed. The smallest median occluded area (%; range) of the Fallopian tube was obtained in the group with 40 W with visual inspection (8.3%; 0.9–40%), followed by the groups 25 W (9.1%; 0–35.9%), 40 W (14.2; 0.9–43.2%), 30 W (14.2; 0.9–49.7%), 35 W (15.1; 3–46.4%) and 50 W (38.2; 3.1–51%). No statistically significant difference was found among groups (p = 0.09, Kruskal-Wallis test). Conclusion The smallest unobstructed area was obtained with power setting at 40 W with visual inspection using a modern electrosurgical generator. However, no statistically significant difference in the unobstructed area was observed among the groups using these different modes and potencies.

Abstract:
This article describes the content of test programs, which is of practical importance in the training process for predicting competitive results in competitive swimming. The experiment involved 24 athletes of the III-d grade and above level II. The study was conducted in the youth athletic center № 3 in Lutsk and in the sports club of Lutsk National Technical University in the 2022–2023 academic year. Based on the analysis of practical experience, we have developed test programs for swimming in full coordination on the arms and legs for swimmers from the third to the first athletic title, freestyle and specializing in short/medium/long courses. There are sample calculations of controlled testing in full coordination for athletes specializing in 1500 meters freestyle. Testing: 15 x 100 meters freestyle and an average speed is 90–95%. The rest period between the distances is 1 min. 30 seconds. The calculations were carried out in the following way: every hundred meter race and the time was recorded in the same sequence as the athlete was swimming. The figures obtained in seconds were summed up and the total amount was initially 1135,09 seconds. 60,25 seconds were added. This is the time of correction for the result for 1500 meters freestyle. So, the total time in seconds 1195,34 was transferred into minutes and seconds and obtained 19,55,34. Thus, the time 19,55,34 corresponds to the level of physical fitness of an athlete at this distance at the time of testing. The developed test programs made it possible to determine the physical fitness of athletes, their readiness for competition. This gave us the opportunity to predict the competitive result, to alternate work and rest during the lesson, to make changes in the content of the annual training cycle or its periods.

Abstract:
Abstract Context: Jump landing is a common activity in collegiate activities, such as women's basketball, volleyball, and soccer, and is a common mechanism for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. It is important to better understand how athletes returning to competition after ACL reconstruction are able to maintain dynamic postural control during a jump landing. Objective: To use time to stabilization (TTS) to measure differences in dynamic postural control during jump landing in ACL-reconstructed (ACLR) knees compared with healthy knees among National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I female athletes. Design: Case-control study. Setting: University athletic training research laboratory. Patients or Other Participants: Twenty-four Division I female basketball, volleyball, and soccer players volunteered and were assigned to the healthy control group (n = 12) or the ACLR knee group (n = 12). Participants with ACLR knees were matched to participants with healthy knees by sport and by similar age, height, and mass. Intervention(s): At 1 session, participants performed a single-leg landing task for both limbs. They were instructed to stabilize as quickly as possible in a single-limb stance and remain as motionless as possible for 10 seconds. Main Outcome Measure(s): The anterior-posterior TTS and medial-lateral TTS ground reaction force data were used to calculate resultant vector of the TTS (RVTTS) during a jump landing. A 1-way analysis of variance was used to determine group differences on RVTTS. The means and SDs from the participants' 10 trials in each leg were used for the analyses. Results: The ACLR group (2.01 ± 0.15 seconds, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.91, 2.10) took longer to stabilize than the control group (1.90 ± 0.07 seconds, 95% CI = 1.86, 1.95) (F1,22 = 4.28, P = .05). This result was associated with a large effect size and a 95% CI that did not cross zero (Cohen d = 1.0, 95% CI = 0.91, 1.09). Conclusions: Although they were Division I female athletes at an average of 2.5 years after ACL reconstruction, participants with ACLR knees demonstrated dynamic postural-control deficits as evidenced by their difficulty in controlling ground reaction forces. This increased TTS measurement might contribute to the established literature reflecting differences in single-limb dynamic control. Clinicians might need to focus rehabilitation efforts on stabilization after jump landing. Further research is needed to determine if TTS is a contributing factor in future injury.

Abstract:
Despite the great amount of time that middle-grades teachers devote to teaching fractions and decimals, converting between these two representations continues to be a difficult task for students. According to the results of the sixth National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) conducted in 1992, although 90 percent of eighth-grade students correctly paired a simple fraction with its pictorial representation, only 63 percent of students successfully shaded a fractional portion of a given rectangular region using equivalent fractions. Likewise, 92 percent correctly identified 14.9 seconds as being the decimal representation closest to 15 seconds, but when comparing common fractions with decimal notation, only 51 percent of eighth-grade students chose 1/2 as being the fraction closest to 0.52. Twenty-nine percent of eighth graders chose the fraction 1/50 as being closest in value to 0.52 (Kouba, Zawojewski, and Struchens 1997).

Abstract:
A study has been undertaken to investigate the use of a possible pulsed fusion reactor to supply the national grid. Detailed models of the individual components of a 1200 MWe reactor plant were developed, including the reactor blanket, boiler and turbine generator. Using a drum boiler as a thermal energy store, full output could be maintained for reactor off-periods up to only 40 seconds, compared with an expected off-period for a pulsed tokamak fusion reactor of up to 300 seconds. Two possible solutions to this mis-match problem are considered, the first involving an externally fired superheater and reheater, which would allow the off-period to be extended to 105 seconds, and a second involving an auxiliary boiler, which would allow an indefinite off-period. Under these conditions, the plant and operating costs are estimated to be higher than the estimated cost of incorporating non-inductive current drive into a tokamak, and therefore the study suggests that it would be advantageous to develop a continuously operating tokamak fusion reactor, although other possible solutions relevant to the pulse operation should be further investigated.

Abstract:
Today, we live in a world surrounded by virtual reality. Virtual reality is commonly used in advertising, video games, cinema, entertainment, education, training, simulations, architecture, engineering and the defense industry. Applications of virtual reality in the entertainment industry can give rise to several legal questions that need to be addressed when determining the relationship between stakeholders, especially when the transaction volume in the virtual world and virtual market trades are considered. In a digital world, digital contents can be illegally copied, communicated to the public or otherwise distributed with several clicks of a mouse within seconds from anywhere in the world. Fighting piracy and infringement of rights, including copyright, on the Internet becomes more and more important for right holders each day. Enforcement of rights on the internet, where huge amount of data are exchanged across the world every second, is another challenging subject. This is also the case for virtual environments. The scientific article analyzed domestic and foreign jurisprudence in the field of protection of virtual gaming property, conducted research on barriers to protection of virtual property, and proposed a way to overcome the problem by developing a law on virtual service providers, which would regulate relations on registration of service providers. virtual facilities, monitoring their activities, determining the rights and obligations of persons using such facilities, the risks associated with the use of virtual asset services and resolving disputes arising from contracts and agreements between the virtual asset service provider and his customers. In addition, the authors propose to create blockchain games as decentralized applications that will not only make the user a full owner of virtual gaming property, but also eliminate intermediaries in the relationship between user and game developer and in turn significantly reduce server maintenance costs.

Abstract:

Abstract:
PURPOSE: To investigate the effect of a 4-week training using a laboratory index on the competition record of elite female middle-distance runners.METHODS: A female, middle-distance, trained runner with the following characteristics: age, 20 years; height, 168.7 cm; weight, 64.3 kg; 27.2% fat; and VO2max, 56.4 VO2 mL/kg/min; volunteered to participate in this study. Before the training program, the participant took part in a 1,500-m track and field national event in April and the onset of blood lactate threshold was analyzed using (OBVA/ vOBLA), VO2max/vVO2max, and tVO2max tests. After completing the 4-week training program, the participant again took part in the 1,500-m track and field national event in May and her parameters were reassessed using the OBVA/vOBLA, VO2max/vVO2max, and tVO2max tests.RESULTS: Pre- and post-training indicate that vVO2max did not improve; however, tVO2max (206 seconds pre-training vs. 251.51 seconds post-training) and VO2max (56.4 vs. 59.3 VO2 mL/kg/min)significantly. However, this improvement in relative VO2 was due to weight loss, and the absolute value of VO2 (3.63 vs. 3.62 L/min) did not change. The 1,500-m race record in track and field events decreased significantly from a pre-training value of 5 minutes 03 seconds to a post-training value of 4 minutes 52 seconds. CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study indicate that utilizing laboratory indicators including vOBLA, vVO2max, and tVO2max may be extremely valuable when prescribing training programs for middle-distance runners.

Abstract:
Recently a preliminary version of the new global DEM collected by the TanDEM-X mission became available to the scientific community: the TanDEM-X Intermediate DEM (IDEM) version. It is available over selected areas of the globe with a pixel spacing of 0.4, 1 and 3 arc-seconds. This paper presents the TanDEM-X IDEM with respect to global and local elevation data over Aegean Islands with mountainous terrain: the SRTM and ASTER global DEMs, and the national network of triangulation pillars (trig-points) and national archive Digital Terrain Model. Possible systematic 3D translations between global DEMs and local data are also determined and the relative gain in accuracy is assessed. TanDEM-X IDEM is shown to be dramatically enhanced with respect to the other global DEMs although a few jitters exist.

Abstract:
Background and Study Aim. Dancesport significantly contributes to segmental coordination development in 6-8-year-old children through rhythmic movements and interaction with dance partner. The study aimed to investigate the impact of dancesport on segmental coordination development in children aged 6 to 8. Material and Methods. The study involved a group of 14 children aged 6 to 8 from the National Children's Palace in Bucharest. Research was conducted from February to June 2023. Segmental coordination assessment for upper limbs was done using Witty SEM, with 16 impulses of the smart semaphores (Lap L1-16) at 4 difficulty levels. Parameters measured: visual reaction time for each Lap (seconds), Lap mean (seconds), and total time (seconds). During the study period, a program with dancesport elements (Standard and Latino styles) was implemented for 36 hours, 2 hours per week. Comparative analysis between difficulty levels was done using ANOVA test, Single Factor Analysis of Variance, and Paired Comparison for Means. Statistical significance was set at p<0.05. Results. Comparative analysis between difficulty levels in the initial and final tests reveals an increase in Lap mean from L1-2 (24.5%) in the final test to L2-3 (53.8%) and L3-4 (24.6%) in the initial test. Comparing the average results of difficulty levels between tests, a decrease in visual reaction time by 0.04 seconds at L1, an increase by 0.03 seconds at L2, a decrease by 0.08 seconds at L3, and a decrease by 0.19 seconds at L4 were observed. Comparative analysis results of segmental coordination between tests at each difficulty level show significant differences of 5.6% (p<0.05) and 22.2% (p<0.01). Negative differences, indicating better performance between tests, are also observed at L1 by 33.3%, at L2 by 55.5%, at L3 by 38.9%, and at L4 by 27.8%. Conclusions. The study results reveal a significant increase in difficulty level among 6-8-year-old children, emphasizing the positive influence of dancesport elements on segmental coordination development. Comparative analysis of visual segmental reaction across different difficulty levels highlighted significant differences. Superior performances observed at lower difficulty levels comparing initial with final tests indicate an improvement in segmental coordination abilities.

Abstract:
Clean water is a primary necessity for human survival, but due to limited access to clean water sources, wells are often used to meet this need. However, water from wells cannot be used directly because its quality varies depending on the soil conditions. Due to these differences, a filtration system needs to be installed in the treatment of raw water from the well. In the process, well water, after being processed through the filtration system, experiences a decrease in flow rate before being stored in water tanks. This creates a problem, namely excessive electricity consumption and insufficient water flow for household use. In this research, the researcher attempts to implement the SNI (Indonesian National Standard) standards in household-scale clean water treatment, whereas previous research focused more on water quality testing. The objectives of this research are to reduce electricity consumption and increase water flow to meet household needs. Regarding the research method, the researcher conducted a literature review, data collection, pre-improvement testing, redesigned pipeline planning, performance testing of the improvement results, and analysis of the outcomes. The results of this research show that for the 1-liter container testing, the required time has increased, with the fastest time being 6.4 seconds and the slowest being 6.7 seconds, compared to the initial testing, which had a range of 13.2 seconds to 13.6 seconds. As for electricity consumption, there has been a significant decrease, from 2.76 A in the initial testing to 1.76 A, resulting in an average power consumption of 200.3 watt, compared to the previous 603.7 watt.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Depression is an increasingly prevalent mental health condition. Patients with depression have disrupted rapid eye movement (REM) sleep as characterized by shortened REM latency, increased REM sleep duration, and increased REM density. However, it is unknown whether the dynamic patterns of EEG within REM episodes are altered in these patients. Here we investigated the complexity of EEG during REM sleep using the analysis of irregularity on multiple temporal time scales and compared the difference in such a nonlinear property of EEG between patients with depression and controls. Methods We analyzed the overnight EEG recordings (256 Hz) collected from the left central channel in 19 older men with depression and 19 age-matched otherwise healthy control men in the Osteoporotic Fractures in Men Study (MrOS) obtained from the National Sleep Research Resource (NSRR). To quantify the irregularity/complexity in EEG fluctuations during REM, a Multiscale Entropy (MSE) analysis was performed on each 30-second epoch to calculate the entropy at different time scales between ~0.004 and ~0.078 seconds (i.e., 1/256, 2/256, …, 20/256 seconds). Results As compared to control men, men with depression had significantly lower entropy values at multiple time scales between 0.023-0.031 seconds (time scale =6/256 second: 0.363□0.008 [SE] for depression, 0.408□0.009 for controls; time scale =7/256 second: 0.295□0.009 for depression, 0.342□0.008 for controls; time scale =8/256 second: 0.225□0.009 for depression, 0.269□0.008 for controls; all FDR-adjusted P-values< 0.001), indicating reduced temporal irregularity/complexity in EEG fluctuations. The differences were not statistically significant at smaller or larger time scales. Conclusion EEG complexity/irregularity within REM sleep were altered in patients with depression. Our results indicate the capability of MSE analysis in capturing important complexity features of EEG fluctuations, which might be missed using those entropy algorithms focused on EEG fluctuations at a single time scale. Abstract:
Abstract In this paper, we present a design for calculating the number of visitors to a tourist attraction. The tourism sector has a positive impact on national economic development. In an effort by the government to increase tourism potential, data on the number of visitors who visit a tourist attraction is needed. In this prototype, the number of tourists will be counted at the entrance using RFID. The controller unit (Node-MCU) will receive and process the incoming data and then classify it into adult local tourists, adult foreign tourist, child local tourists and child foreign tourist. Google Sheets are used to store data from the controller over a long period of time and provide results and records of daily visitors. Recording time on Google Sheets is delayed 3-4 seconds in good signal conditions, and 7-10 seconds on a bad signal conditions. This system provides accurate results about the number of tourists of a tourist attraction.

Abstract:
The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientistsʼ Doomsday Clock, first introduced in 1947, recently movedthe fictional clock forward; it now rests at 100 seconds to midnight, or 100 seconds from destroying our selves. The numerous threats posed by nuclear weapons, pandemics, weaponized technology, and catastrophic climate change create an ʻenvironment of miseryʼ in which all action—and all inaction—is fraught with risk. Two recent novels employ dystopian visions of the United States and Britain, respectively, and explore the consequences of social engineering that takes place to minimize (perceived) risks and increase safety. Dalcherʼs Vox (2018) and Lanchesterʼs The Wall (2019) are two novels that are a commentary on a world in which risk is pervasive and in which (in)action can exacerbate dire circumstances. At the same time, the novels highlight that local (national) action is doomed to fail if it does not also consider the global interconnectedness of challenges and risks.

Abstract:
Abstract The monitoring of tourist traffic helps to manage tourism in national parks. Today park managers and researchers use many different devices and technologies that facilitate data collection. Among these often used devices is the pyroelectric sensor. Despite its high degree of usefulness, this type of sensor can miscalculate. Therefore, there is a need to assess the magnitude of errors and the circumstances in which they occur. The purpose of the study was to evaluate pyroelectric sensor counting errors in relation to different visitor flow levels and time intervals between visitors. The study was based on a field experiment and on-site observations using pyroelectric sensors, part of the Monitoring System of tourist traffic (MSTT) in Stołowe Mountains National Park in Poland. The outcome of the assessment was the errors sizes and types and calibration formula. Pyroelectric sensors more often overcount than undercount. Errors occur in larger than 6-visitor groups and time intervals between visitors shorter than 3 seconds. Finally, the analysis of the causes of errors gave the ground to generate the typology of error circumstances. The calibration formula was generated based on a field experiment and on-site observation. The average error size was reduced from ±13 % to ±6 %. The calibration formula provided in the study is simple and universal and can be applied to other data.

Abstract:

Abstract:
On 23 January 1944 at nine p.m. EST, audiences across the country tuned their radios to hear the first in a series of CBC radio dramas, dramas written by and produced for Canadians. Twenty-nine minutes and forty seconds later, the play (aptly titled 29:40) finished, surprising and delighting CBC listeners: Canadian radio finally sounded as slick and professional as any program broadcast from the United States. Over the next few months, mail poured into CBC offices across the country, making the new national radio drama series, Stage ‘44, a resounding success.

Abstract:
Corona virus disease (COVID-19) has become a global pandemic in the world. Indonesia has declared this pandemic as a national disaster. Positive cases and deaths have increased every day. This was a long list of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on life. Several solutions have been designed to prevent the rapid transmission of this virus, one of them was by making sterilizer and hand sanitizer products. But there was still debate regarding the effectiveness of the use of UV rays and antiseptics as hygiene products offered. So we need a study to determine the effectiveness of UV exposure and the use of antiseptics to kill germs. This study used an experimental design, the sample used was in the form of folding money taken by the bacteria and grown on the media so that were classified into 3 groups, namely without treatment, 70% alcohol treatment and 10 seconds UV light treatment. The samples were analyzed using the dilution agar method and swab test with two repetitions. The results showed the average number of colony forming units (cfu) of bacteria using the dilution test method and swab test methode were 419 cfu on without treatment group; 4 cfu on alcohol 70% ; and 150 cfu on UV light (10 seconds). The alcohol 70% was more effective than 10 seconds UV light exposure to reduce the amount of bacterial cfu on folding money.

Abstract:
Abstract This study aimed to determine the exposure to radiation delivered to the patient during routine intraoperative cholangiography (IOC) in cholecystectomy and examine the factors affecting radiation dose and fluoroscopy time (FT). From January 2016 to December 2017, 598 IOC examinations were performed. This study included 324 intraoperative cholangiographies performed with c-arm equipment not exceeding 10 years of age. When residents performed the procedures, the mean kerma area product (KAP) was 0.36 (standard deviation [SD] 0.70) Gycm 2 and in specialist surgeons group 0.36 (SD 0.47) Gycm2, P = 0.47. In residents group, the mean FT was 11.4 (SD 10.1) seconds and in specialist surgeons group, 9.2 (SD 11.9) seconds, P < 0.01. Linear regression analysis showed association between increased KAP-values and the presence of common bile duct (CBD) stones and body mass index (BMI). Age, BMI, laparoscopic surgery, acute cholecystitis, presence of CBD stones, resident surgeon performing IOC and ASA III–IV were associated with higher FT. National diagnostic reference level for IOC has not been introduced in Finland so far. Our mean KAP values (0.36 Gycm2) were 3–4 times lower and FT (10.1 seconds) were 3–5 times lower than the few reported in the literature. Routine use of IOC during cholecystectomy results in relatively low-radiation dose performed either by residents or specialist surgeons, irrespective of whether CBD stones were visualized or not.

Abstract:
This essay explores the way in which rape was represented in Upper Canada circa 1812. It draws upon a broadly defined Upper Canadian print culture that drew upon and reacted against wider trends, especially those prevalent in the United States. Whereas American newspapers spoke openly of sexual violence against American women during the War of 1812, Upper Canadian sources tended to suppress any such discussion, for reasons that reflect profound cultural and political differences. Americans stoked a rowdy, popular patriotism that Canadians distrusted and sought to avert. The analysis of national differences is contextualized within broader changes in the ways that rape was constructed in the press and the courts over the first half of the nineteenth century, in ways that worked to muffle women’s public voice. But the War of 1812’s most famous heroine, Laura Secord, was not silenced. Writing almost half a century later, Secord challenged discursive conventions of gender when she had her say and made herself a hero. The final section examines how Secord and her early commentators interwove literary signals of danger and respectability in their published accounts.
