Abstract:
This paper analyses the relationship of electricity consumption and secondary industry structure with GDP as control variable. Cointegration analysis indicates that there is a long run relationship between the electricity consumption and the secondary industry structure. Granger causality test indicates that variables all have one-directional Granger causality relationship. Increased electricity consumption could explain the development of GDP in Shandong in the period under study. Secondary industry structure played a significant role in the explanation of the increased electricity demand. And secondary industry structure helps explain the growth of GDP in Shandong province. Although tertiary industry is developing very fast but the secondary industry is still very important in the electricity consumption.

Abstract:
The global pharmaceutical industry consists of innovators and generics. Innovators focus on drug discovery, and bring new drugs into the marketplace after filing the new drug applications. In contrast, the generics enter the market by making a bioequivalent product by filing abbreviated new drug applications. In order to maximize their returns on R&D and maintain market share, the innovators introduce a wide range of drug products based on the same ‘new molecular entity’ and protect them against competition by filing what the industry term as secondary patents. The patents of four innovator viz., AstraZeneca, Takeda, Eisai and Wyeth related to the gastroesophageal reflux disease drugs and how their new molecular entity patents overcame the nonobviousness criteria is analyzed and studied in detail.

Just how successful have we been in our roles as environmental educators? With the huge groundswell of interest our society has in the environmental field it is of interest to track the progress of five students that have moved on from our school. As potential movers and shapers in future years these students have been chosen to talk about their ideas, experiences and concerns about environmental education. The background to Environmental Education at St. Joseph's College, Geelong, lies in the ever-changing curriculum of the school. During the early 1990s there was a major upheaval in choices. Chinese replaced French, Geography and English Literature disappeared and Environmental Studies was trialed as one of the new VCE subjects. Our Principal, Mr. Peter Cannon, was always receptive to new ideas. All major assignments were location-based and presented some relevant local issues. Included were Coode Island, the chemical storage facility and its possible relocation, the scallop industry of Port Phillip Bay, the You Yangs and the Striped Legless Lizard.

Abstract:
The Chinese economy has developed rapidly since the reform and opening up, but economic growth in Northeast China has declined dramatically after the 21st century. In this context, exploring the characteristics of economic and industrial fluctuations in the northeast of China and their relationship is beneficial to alleviating economic fluctuations and promoting stable economic development from the perspective of industrial development. The relationship between economic and industrial fluctuations in the three provinces of Northeast China was reexamined from the angle of fluctuation components with the complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN) algorithm. The results obtained are as follows: (1) In the three northeastern provinces of China, economic fluctuations were almost free from the influence of the primary industry, most affected by the secondary industry, and gradually influenced by the tertiary industry after the 21st century. (2) Regarding the short-term business cycle of each province, economic development was the most stable when the market and government participated in the development of the secondary industry simultaneously. (3) The midterm business cycle of Jilin Province was affected by the investment of equipment in secondary and tertiary industries, while that of Liaoning Province was affected by the investment of equipment in the secondary industry. (4) Investment in the equipment of the secondary industry and the construction of secondary and tertiary industries was the key to maintaining the stability of long-term business cycle in Heilongjiang Province, and that in the construction of secondary and tertiary industries was the key to maintaining the stability of long-term business cycles in Jilin and Liaoning Provinces.

Research on industrial agglomeration using GIS spatial analysis and spatial visualization technology is still relatively few, so do the research on industrial agglomeration at the micro-spatial scale within the city. Based on the data of the legal entity of the street (township), using the Tsui-Wang Index and GIS methods, the spatial agglomeration characteristics of the secondary and tertiary industries in Shenyang are discussed from the three aspects of industrial spatial polarization, spatial differentiation and spatial correlation, and it is found that (1) there is a certain degree of polarization in various industries, with different degree of polarization of different industries, and the degree of polarization of the tertiary industry is slightly higher than that of the secondary industry; (2) the industrial spatial heterogeneity is obvious, showing spatial differentiation; (3) various industries have a certain degree of spatial correlation, but the overall degree of correlation is low, and the spatial correlation of the tertiary industry is slightly higher than that of the secondary industry; (4) there are obvious hotspots and cold spots in the industrial distribution, the secondary industry hotspots are distributed in the northern and western new cities, while the urban core areas are cold spots. The tertiary industry hotspots are concentrated in the urban core areas, while the cold spots are located at the south of the city. Inside the secondary and tertiary industries, except for the production and supply of electricity, heat and water, other industries have obvious hot and cold spots. Therefore, it can be considered that the industrial distribution has certain agglomeration characteristics, but the degree of agglomeration is not high, and the degree of agglomeration of the tertiary industry is slightly higher than that of the secondary industry.

Abstract:
Problem statement. The solution to the problem of the integrated use of secondary construction resources should be considered in the context of the spread of the world practice of using, processing and reclaiming all valuable waste as secondary resources. This is due to profound changes in the world economy associated with limited natural resources, threats to environmental and social security, an increase in the amount of waste and man-made landfills. The process of managing the flows of secondary resources should be aimed at achieving economic and environmental effects, the definition of which has certain characteristics for various stakeholders in this process: (producers of building materials (waste recyclers), developers (construction companies and organizations), the construction industry (at the regional level, countries). The application of world experience in the use of secondary resources in the construction industry can become the basis for the development of infrastructure for obtaining secondary raw materials from construction waste and attracting them into re-circulation, which will make it possible to more effectively implement the National Waste Management Strategy until 2030, adopted by the Government of Ukraine. The goal of the strategy is to introduce a systematic approach to waste management at the state and regional levels, to reduce the volume of waste generation by increasing the volume of their processing and reuse. Purpose of the article: substantiate the effectiveness of the use of tools for integrated management of secondary resource flows in the construction industry and propose an economic and mathematical model for optimal management of construction waste flows at the level of individual enterprises of the industry in the region. Conclusion. The toolkit for managing waste streams in the construction industry includes information (including statistical, monitoring), analytical, predictive tools for managing the flows of secondary resources. We consider the creation of a unified system of integrated management of the flows of secondary resources (materials) as a condition for decision-making and the effectiveness of the overall management of waste streams in the construction industry, the main goal of which is to achieve a cumulative economic effect from attracting construction waste to a repeated production cycle. The effectiveness of the use of tools for complex management of the flows of secondary resources in the construction industry has been substantiated and a method is proposed for its determination, on the basis of a mathematical model for solving the problem of optimal management of flows of construction waste at the level of enterprises are waste producers, enterprises-processors (producers of building materials from secondary raw materials), the construction industry of the region. Abstract:
AbstractThe bison industry is relatively new to North Dakota where in 1998 an estimated 23,000 bison were raised in 47 of its 53 counties. The purpose of this study was to estimate the economic contribution of the bison industry to the state's economy in 1998. The bison industry, as defined here, is the production and processing of bison and the related revenues and expenditures generated from those activities that occurred within the state. With the construction and operation of a bison processing plant in North Dakota, this industry has undergone rapid expansion within the past 10 years. A survey of North Dakota bison producers and processors was conducted to provide estimates of direct impacts of the bison industry within the state. Secondary economic impacts were determined using the North Dakota Input-Output Model. The direct impact of production and processing of bison was estimated at $23 million. This generated an additional $47 million in secondary impacts within the state. The North Dakota bison industry supported a total of 757 secondary full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs. Total economic activity generated within the state was estimated at $70 million, including $27 million in personal income and nearly $18 million in retail sales. In addition, the bison industry generated $4 million in tax revenues, including property, personal income, sales and use, and corporate income taxes. The direct impact of bison production in 1998 ranked fourth in North Dakota's livestock industry: below cattle and calves, dairy products, and swine, but above turkeys and sheep. If the bison industry maintains its present growth rate, it will be larger than the North Dakota swine industry within 3 years, and sooner if the swine industry continues to decline as it has since 1995. The average direct impact generated for each bison in the state was $1,000. Total economic activity generated per bison was $3,100 (includes direct and secondary impacts from production and processing). For every 30 bison an additional secondary FTE job was supported.

Abstract:
The radical change in the quality of the processed meat raw materials, which does not meet the standards, calls for the necessity to apply biotechnology methods in order to improve the quality and obtain high nutritional and biological value of manufactured products in compliance with the requirements set for functional food. The use of starter cultures to perform biomodification of cattle by-products makes it possible to provide the rationale for the use of low-value secondary meat raw materials in order to expand the manufacturing range and increase the economic efficiency of meat-processing plants. This article aims to, first, review the approaches towards the development of new forms of biologically complete and environmentally safe sources of raw materials to increase the economic efficiency and reduce costs at meat-processing plants of the agro-industrial complex of the Central Black Earth region and, second, to substantiate the selection and purposefully apply bifidobacteria as part of the consortium for biotransformation of proteins of the rumen of farm animals. As a result of the research, the technology of rumen modification was suggested aimed at its further use as part of meat products, primarily, minced convenience meat products. The article data can be used to develop manufacturing formulas at meat-processing plants and also be useful for process engineers and scientists working in the food industry.

Abstract:
This paper selects the panel data of 16 cities in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration from 2005 to 2015, and uses differences-in-differences model to analyze the impact of high-speed railways on the industrial structure and Carbon Emission of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration. The results show that the construction of high-speed rail has reduced the proportion of the secondary industry and has a significant role in promoting the development of the tertiary industry. Among them, fixed asset investment increased the proportion of the secondary industry and the tertiary industry, and technology investment decreased the proportion of the secondary industry, and increased the proportion of the tertiary industry, indicating that the improvement of the level of informatization is helpful to the development of the tertiary industry. It is proposed that a more reasonable evaluation system for the economic effects of highspeed rail should be established. At the same time, the impact of high-speed rail construction on the industrial structure is different. When formulating policies, we must not only weigh the spillover effect and siphon effect of high-speed rail, but also give full play to the carbon reduction effect of economic agglomeration.

Abstract:
This paper analyses industry–university interaction and its characteristics in the Brazilian pharmaceutical system of innovation, taking account of the relevance of company strategies, the approach of the universities and the actions of government. By analysing primary and secondary data the authors show that, for as long as corporate investment in R&D remains rare, and government efforts to stimulate these investments are inadequate, it will be difficult to increase levels of innovative activity in industry; and especially so in the pharmaceutical sector. The paper highlights the relevance of internal R&D structures for the generation of innovation and for interaction with the academic sector; the need to improve the physical infrastructure and modernize the internal organization of research institutions; the importance of appropriate and planned government action and the establishment of an environment conducive to innovation; and the key role played by government funding and support for players in the pharmaceutical system of innovation.

Abstract:
The conflict between economic growth and environmental pollution has become a considerable bottleneck to future development throughout the world. The industrial structure may become the possible key factor in resolving the contradiction. Using the daily data of air quality from January to April in 2019 and 2020, we used the DID model to identify the effects of industrial structure on air quality by taking the COVID-19 pandemic as a quasi-experiment. The results show that, first, the impact of profit of the secondary industry on air quality is ten times higher than that of the tertiary industry. Therefore, the secondary industry is the main factor causing air pollution. Second, the effect of the reduction in the secondary industry on the improvement of air quality is better than that of the tertiary industry in Beijing. Therefore, the implementation of Beijing’s non-capital function relief policy is timely and reasonable, and the adjustment of the industrial structure is effective in the improvement of air quality. Third, PM2.5, NO2, and CO are affected by the secondary and tertiary industries, where PM2.5 is affected most seriously by the second industry. Therefore, the transformation from the secondary industry to the tertiary industry can not only solve the problem of unemployment but also relieve the haze. Fourth, the result of O3 is in opposition to other pollutants. The probable reason is that the decrease of PM2.5 would lead to an increase in the O3 concentration. Therefore, it is difficult to reduce O3 concentrationby production limitation and it is urgent to formulate scientific methods to deal with O3 pollution. Fifth, the air quality in the surrounding areas can also influence Beijing. As Hebei is a key area to undertake Beijing’s industry, the deterioration of its air quality would also bring pressure to Beijing’s atmospheric environment. Therefore, in the process of industrial adjustment, the selection of appropriate regions for undertaking industries is very essential, which is worth our further discussion.
