Abstract:
Abstract Sebeta town is one of the rapidly growing towns in Ethiopia. Its closeness to Addis Ababa city has attracted industrial, urban development, and population growth. This development has created problems with drinking water shortages in the community. This study aimed at determining the household's willingness to pay (WTP) amount toward improving water supply services and analyzing the influencing factors of WTP. A contingent valuation (CV) technique was applied in quantifying the households' WTP and the influencing factors toward the program. The field observations, key informant interviews, and household questionnaire interviews from 250 respondents out of the targeted 280 were employed in collecting field data. Results from CV revealed that 66% of the households were WTP toward improving the water supply services beyond their current monthly water bills. Households were WTP about 20 Ethiopian Birr (ETB) above the average current water bill of 161 ETB. The binary logistic model results statistically demonstrated that independent variables of gender, age, marital status, education level, years in Sebeta, and average monthly income were significantly influencing the household's WTP at p = 0.01 and 0.05. This study provides vital hints for further research and baseline information for local administration and communities about the water supply in the area and holistic appropriation of water tariffs in line with government policy.

Abstract:
A study was conducted between December 2008 and April 2009 on 705 carthorses in three towns of Southwestern Ethiopia namely Sebeta, Asgori and Woliso to investigate the Epidemiology and Socioeconomic impact of Epizootic lymphangitis (EL). The study has revealed an overall prevalence of 25.1% (177/705). There was no statistically significant (X 2 =3.88, P> 0.05) difference on the occurrence of the disease in the three districts. The highest prevalence being observed at Woliso with 27.9% and the lowest was at Sebeta with 20.2%. The result of histopathological and mycological examinations has revealed characte ristic features of HCF. Result of differential leukocyte count had shown a statistical significant difference across the severity of the disease and neutrophil count (r=0.87, F=6.08, P<0.005) while lymphocyte count were inversely related to the severity st age of the disease (r=0.94.F=23.28, P<0.001). The yeast forms of Histoplasma capsulatum var. farciminosum were isolated on the sabouraud’s dextrose agar. The result of questionnaire survey from 35 carthorse owners indicates that EL was the first and the ma jor important disease of carthorses by creating a negative impact on the economy of the carters. Despite its impact, awareness on the transmission and control mechanism of the disease was not uniformly known by the carthorse owners. Therefore, further stud y on the extent of the disease and educating the owners both on the disease and its way of transmission was recommended.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to assess and explore household environmental health factors associated with the occurrence of diarrhoea experienced by children under five years of age in Sebeta town of Ethiopia. A cross-sectional study, using stratified random sampling was used to conduct the research. A total of 477 households’ mothers/caregivers had participated in the study. The study showed that the prevalence of childhood diarrhoea was 9.9%. A number of risk factors including demographic variables, water and hygienic practices, and knowledge of risk factors showed significant association with childhood diarrhoea on bivariate analysis. The multivariate analysis showed that four variables were protective factors for childhood diarrhoea, including the type of toilet facility (AOR: 0.37; 95% CI 0.16 – 0.87; p = 0.023), availability of specific hand-washing places (AOR: 0.40; 95% CI 0.18 – 0.90; p = 0.026), availability of hand-washing facilities (AOR: 0.20; 95% CI 0.06 – 0.70; p = 0.012) and mothers’ knowledge on diarrhoea causation (AOR: 3.09; 95% CI 1.24 – 7.68; p = 0.015). The study, thus, recommends that effective measures to curtail prevalence of diarrhoea in urban contexts should be substantially increased by enhancing protective factors such as urban sanitation promotion programmes with emphasis on accelerating universal access to improved sanitation and hand-washing facilities, together with efforts in promoting proper hygiene behaviours.

A investigação realizada ao longo do presente projecto procurou encontrar em contextos on-line a resposta a uma questão inicial: Como utilizar a informática em processos não tradicionais de ensino e aprendizagem? A resposta a esta questão foi procurada através da implementação de um wiki dedicado às questões do Design na Faculdade de Belas Artes do Porto (FBAUP). O wiki foi o contexto on-line eleito como objecto de testagem, por se tratar de um software colaborativo. O conceito de colaboração está na base da Teoria Socioconstrutivista, por nós eleita como fundamentação para a metodologia de ensino adoptada, sendo consonante com os novos paradigmas da comunicação. A Teoria Socioconstrutivista surge ainda como particularmente compatível com os novos paradigmas de ensino ditados pelo Tratado de Bolonha. Pretende-se, deste modo, obter uma ferramenta prática que possa contribuir para uma melhoria no processo de ensino/aprendizagem do Design na FBAUP. Ao longo do presente estudo, abordam-se temas gerais que contribuem para o entendimento do modelo de ensino/aprendizagem implementado. Este modelo, sendo de carácter prático, conduziu o estudo para uma observação igualmente prática onde o próprio modelo se foi desenvolvendo perante as reacções obtidas com a participação dos alunos e com a comunicação tida com estes. São igualmente descritas as estratégias seguidas, os resultados obtidos e as conclusões extraídas destes. Para além destas informações, temos ainda referência às dificuldades sentidas e às perspectivas de desenvolvimento futuro. Tratando-se de um projecto de investigação aplicada, o objecto de estudo encontra-se em constante alteração, facto que indicia mudanças constantes na obtenção de futuros resultados e consequente sucesso.
The research carried out all through this work aimed at finding an answer in online contexts to an initial question: How to use the information and communication technology (ICT) in nontraditional teaching/learning processes? The answer came through the development of a wiki dedicated to Design issues in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Oporto (FBAUP). The wiki was the online context elected as object of study, because it is collaborative software. The concept of collaboration is the basis of the Socio-constructivist theory which we have chosen as foundation for the teaching methodology adopted while being consonant with the new communication paradigms. The Socio-constructivist theory is particularly compatible with the new learning paradigms dictated by the Bologna Process. Thus we pretend to obtain a practical tool that might contribute to the improvement of the teaching/learning process of the Design course in the FBAUP. Throughout this study, we have broached more general themes that help understand the implemented teaching/learning process model. This model, being of a practical nature, has lead this study to an equally practical observation where the model itself kept developing in the sight of reactions obtained through the participation of the students as well as the communications held with them. The adopted strategies, the obtained results and the drawn conclusions are also described in this study. Besides this information, difficulties and future development perspectives are also referred to. Bearing in mind that we are dealing with an applied research, the object of study is constantly changing; implying constant changes in the attainment of future results and consequent success.

Depuis son indépendance, le Maroc a combattu pour récupérer ses territoires occupes afin de parachever son intégrité territoriale et asseoir son unité nationale. Ce combat a abouti a la récupération de Tarfayor, sidi ifni et le Sahara occidental. Il ne reste actuellement que cinq présides : Sebta, Melilla et les îles du rif, qui se trouvent aux deux extrémités de la cote nord du Maroc que l'Espagne occupe si tenacement. Fort de ses droits légitimes, le Maroc veut régler ce litige en suspens et recouvrer sa souveraineté sur ces territoires qui font partie intégrante de son unité nationale. Ces présides constituent les derniers vestiges du colonialisme espagnol que le Maroc veut régler par des voies pacifiques, dans un climat d'entente et de bon voisinage en sauvegardant les intérêts vitaux de toutes les communautés qui y vivent
Since its independence morocco has fought to recover its occupied territories so as to complete its territorial integrity and establish its national unity. This fight led to the recovery of tarfaya, sidi ifni and western sahara. Nowadays only five presides : sebta, melilla and the rif islands, at both ends of the north coast of morocco are tenaciously occupied by spain. Sure of its legitimate rights morocco wants to solve this litigious problem and recover its sovereignity over these territories, which are part of its national unity. These presides are the last remnants of spanish colonialism. Morocco wants to solve this by pacific rounds in a climate of good understanding and neighbourhood, while preserving the interests of the different communities that live there

NNotre travail, nous l'avons intitulé "Sebta et Melilia, villes-frontieres entre le Maroc et l'Espagne" en raison du fait qu'à partir de leur occupation, elles ont été le théâtre de faits et d'événements qui se sont succédés et qui ont consisté tantôt en de simples incursions, tantôt en de longues occupations par les chrétiens comme par les musulmans, ce qui a contribué à faire d'elles des entités à cheval entre deux mondes, deux civilisations, deux cultures, des espaces ou évoluent en même temps et à la fois deux communautés sans cesse en mouvement : la communauté chrétienne et la communauté musulmane. En ce sens, elles constituent des "espaces frontières". Notre contribution au traitement de cette question réside dans le choix d'une approche sociopolitique au moyen d'enquêtes effectuées sur le terrain et à l'aide de fichiers statistiques, axée fondamentalement sur l'étude des populations des deux villes. L'objectif n'a certes pas été d'établir un sondage d'opinion mais : - de déterminer les problèmes identitaires et sociaux propres à la communauté musulmane au sein de la société espagnole ou la communauté chrétienne constitue l'acteur principal ainsi que de vérifier l'état des relations entre les deux communautés; - d'évaluer l'impact que le contentieux territorial exerce sur celles-ci ; - d'apprécier à quel point l'appartenance religieuse, ethnique et civilisationnelle des musulmans des deux villes peut constituer un obstacle à une intégration totale, surtout que l'espace religieux, en ce qui concerne les deux enclaves, est traditionnellement confié au Maroc. Ce sont là toutes les questions qui font l'objet des développements de notre première partie que nous avons intitulée: "Sebta et Melilia, une cohabitation communautaire difficile" étant donné justement la situation "d'interface" dans laquelle se trouvent les deux communautés et qui les empêche de tisser des liens forts "d'une vie en commun" que dans le langage espagnol on appelle "convivencia" et ce, même si depuis des siècles elles partagent le même territoire. Tout au plus vivent-elles une relation "d'associés-rivaux". Notre seconde partie quant à elle nous l'avons intitulée : "Sebta et Melilia, un ancrage artificiel à l'Europe". Nous avons en effet jugé nécessaire de consacrer les développements de notre seconde partie à cet ancrage afin d'en faire une évaluation objective.

O presente trabalho propõe avaliar o impacto da implementação de uma sebenta como instrumento pedagógico no estudo da Trompete. Após uma análise da literatura e da observação no terreno, resultou a hipótese de utilização de uma sebenta, que acabou por ser aplicada numa experiência com os alunos, num período letivo. Com a análise dos estudos implementados e discutidos, e através das respostas dadas no questionário dos professores de Trompete, criou-se o esboço da sebenta, a qual os alunos utilizaram ao longo de um período letivo. A sebenta foca as cinco áreas específicas da aprendizagem da Trompete: o som, a flexibilidade, o registo, a técnica e a articulação. Com a implementação da sebenta, verificou-se uma melhor organização do estudo da Trompete, e consequentemente, uma melhoria dos seus resultados performativos, por parte dos alunos.
This study proposes to evaluate the impact of implementing a notebook as a educational tool in the study of the Trumpet. After a review of literature and field observation, resulting the possibility of using a notebook, which turn out to be applied in an experiment with students in a semester. With the analysis of the studies discussed and implemented, and through the answers given in the questionnaire teachers Trumpet, created the outline of notebook, used over a semester. The notebook focuses on five particular areas of learning Trumpet, like the sound, flexibility, register, technique and articulation. With the implementation of notebook, there was a better organization of the Trumpet study, and consequently, an improvement in its performatives results, by students.

Beaucoup de monographies locales restent a entreprendre pour tracer la voie a une etude plus synthetique des villes marocaines au moyen-age. Cette etude se veut une contribution a l'histoire urbaine du maroc medieval. Elle essaie de degager les traits specifiques de la ville de ceuta qui joua un role decisif dans les relations hispano-africaines, et dans les evenements du bassin occidental de la mediterranee. La problematique qui nous a servi du fil conducteur, est le processus de l'autonomie qu'a connu la ville. Nous avons essaye de voir dans quelle mesure la ville s'etait erigee en principaute independante au treizieme et quatorzieme siecles, et quelles etaient ses relations avec le pouvoir central et son statut juridique. Cette independance qui doit beaucoup a la position cotiere de ceuta, n'aurai su se maintenir sans l'appui d'une force navale puissante et d'un systeme defensif operationnel. Mais la base la plus solide du maintien de l'independance de la ville, fut ses activites commerciales avec le monde mediterraneen. Son autonomie allait de pair avec un developpement remarquable de ses liens commerciaux avec l'exterieur. L'echec du processus d'autonomisme est a mettre en liaison avec la decadence du commerce de la ville a partir du quatorzieme siecle. L'etude des activites culturelles de la ville a la meme epoque a revele que la production litteraire de ceuta, tout en s'integrant harmonieusement dans l'ensemble culturel arabo-musulman, se destingue par quelques tendances specifiques. Parmi elles, nous avons retenu les manifestations de l'autonomisme de la ville dans la production historique, bio-hagiographique des auteurs de la ville, qui se situent a la meme epoque de l'autonomie politique au quatorzieme siecle.

La presente tesis analiza la imagen estelar de la actriz norteamericana Jean Seberg así como su relevancia en un momento crucial de la historiografía cinematográfica: el tránsito del clasicismo a la modernidad. La tesis aborda las diversas facetas y características de su inusual estrellato tomando como base las tres primeras películas que protagonizó - Santa Juana (1957), Buenos días tristeza (1958), ambas dirigidas por Otto Preminger, y Al final de la escapada (Jean-Luc Godard, 1960) – así como Les hautes solitudes (Philippe Garrel, 1974), considerada su testamento fílmico. Como figura intermedia entre Hollywood y los nuevos cines europeos, entre el posclasicismo y la modernidad, el estudio de Jean Seberg permite llevar a cabo una revisión de la historia del cine que tenga en cuenta el papel fundamental de los intérpretes o, dicho de otro modo, repensar dicha historia a partir del gesto de la actriz.
This dissertation analyzes the star image of American actress Jean Seberg and her relevance at a crucial moment in the history of cinema: the transition from classical to modern cinema. The thesis discusses the various aspects and features of her unusual stardom based on the analysis of her first three films - Saint Joan (1957) , Bonjour Tristesse (1958), both directed by Otto Preminger, and Breathless (Jean-Luc Godard, 1960) - as well as Les hautes solitudes (Philippe Garrel, 1974), considered as her film testament. As an intermediate figure between Hollywood and new European cinemas, between post-classicism and modernity, the study of Jean Seberg allows us to review the history of cinema taking into account the fundamental role of performers in it. Teknoloji şirketleri diğer şirketlere oranla daha kolay bir şekilde doğdukları ülkelerin sınırlarını aşarak uluslararası pazarda faaliyetlerini sürdürebilmektedir. Uluslararasılaşma stratejileri içerisinde kuruluşundan kısa bir süre sonra uluslararasılaşan şirketleri tanımlamak için küresel doğan tanımı yapılmaktadır. Bu tanıma göre küresel doğan olarak adlandırılan şirketlerin sundukları hizmeti doğru bir şekilde farklılaştırması ve girdikleri pazarların dinamiklerini iyi okumaları gerekmektedir. Spotify İsveç kökenli bir teknoloji şirketi olarak uluslararasılaşmış şirketlere iyi bir örnek teşkil etmekte ve alanına liderlik etmektedir. İlk olarak 2003 yılında ortaya çıkan podcast kavramı, istenildiği zaman istenildiği yerde dinlenebilen dijital radyo programı ya da ses kaydı olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Üretiminin nispeten kolay ve ucuz olması, neredeyse herkesin yapabilecek donanıma sahip olması ve hikâye anlatıcılığını desteklemesi sebebi ile podcast yayıncıları popülerlik kazanmakta ve dinleyicileri her geçen gün artmaktadır. 2020 yılında pandemi sebebi ile dijital kullanımların artması podcaste duyulan ilginin de artmasına sebep olmuştur. Tüketicideki bu eğilimi fark eden Spotify ise ilk defa küresel reklam kampanyasında podcast yayınlarına vurgu yaparak kavramın bilinirliğine katkı sağlamıştır.Bu bilgiler ışığında küresel doğan modeli örneği Spotify’ın ilk defa içeriğinde müzik dışında bir öğeyi ön plana çıkardığı ve 2020 Eylül ayında yayınlanan “Music, Meet Podcasts” küresel reklam kampanyası uluslararasılaşma stratejileri ve stratejilerin küresel-kültürel etkileri bağlamında örnek olay incelemesi ile değerlendirilmektedir.

Geleneksel yargı usullerinde iş yükünün fazlalığı ile uzun ve pahalı yargı süreçleri, tarafları yıpratmakta ve tarafların adalete geç ulaş-malarına sebep olmaktadır. Yargılama sürelerinin uzunluğu ve bu süreçte tarafların katlanmakla yükümlü oldukları sorumluluklar bir problem haline gelmektedir. Bu sebeple dünyada ve ülkemizde özellikle yerel mahkemelerde tarafların barışçıl yöntemlerle çözüme kavuşturulması ve tarafları, tatmin eden sonuçlara hızlı ve ucuz yollarla ulaşması amacıyla çeşitli alternatif uyuşmazlık çö-züm yöntemleri geliştirilmektedir. Bu usuller, bir uyuşmazlık yaşanması halinde hakem sözleşmesinde olduğu gibi önceden; ara-buluculuk veya uzlaştırma sistemlerinde olduğu gibi sonradan tarafların bir araya getirilerek konuşmalarını ve müzakere etmelerini amaçlar. Alternatif uyuşmazlık çözüm yöntemleri, bağımsız ve tarafsız üçüncü kişilerin yönetimiyle tarafların kendi sorunlarına kendi çözümlerini üretmelerini hedefler. Bu politika notunda, arabuluculuk ve uzlaşma yöntemlerinin mevcut durumu değerlendirilecek ve ulaşılan veriler ışığında somut çözüm önerileri paylaşılacaktır

Abstract:
Günümüz dünyasının iletişim ve ulaşım imkânlarıyla gelişen seyri, yalnızca düşünce ve ürünlerin değil aynı zamanda uluslararası nüfus hareketlerinin de yoğunlaşmasını beraberinde getirmektedir. Tarihsel olarak çeşitli göç hareketlerinden etkilenen Türkiye, bugün eş zamanlı olarak hem göç veren kaynak ülke hem göç alan hedef ülke hem de göçlere geçiş güzergâhı olarak transit ülke pozisyonundadır. Bununla birlikte, Türkiye ekonomisindeki göçmen iş gücünün durumu, çeşitli risk ve fırsatların birlikte ele alınmasını zorunlu kılmaktadır. Zira göçmenlerin çoğunlukla tarım, sanayi ve hizmet sektörlerinde kayıt dışı istihdama yönelmesi, yerel halkın istihdam olanaklarının daralmasına; söz konusu sektörlerde ücret düşüşleri ve iş kayıplarının yaşanmasına sebep olmaktadır. Diğer taraftan, ekonomik ve kültürel sermaye sahibi göçmenlerin iş yaşamına dâhil oluşu ve gerçekleştirdikleri yatırımlar, ülke ekonomisine katma değer oluşturmanın yanında hem yeni istihdam alanlarının geliştirilmesi hem de nitelikli iş gücü ihtiyacının karşılanmasına yönelik önemli katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu kapsamda elinizdeki metinde, ülkemizdeki göçmen iş gücüne ilişkin verilerden hareketle, entegrasyonun gerçekleşmesinde belirleyici bir parametre olan nitelikli göçmenlerin çalışma yaşamına uyumları risk ve fırsatlar temelinde irdelenerek somut politika önerilerine yer verilecektir.
