Abstract:

Mestrado em Arquitectura Paisagista - Instituto Superior de Agronomia - UL Aparentemente vulgares, as sebes - linhas de vegetação que compartimentam a paisagem - são uma estrutura essencial na organização e no equilíbrio do território. Protagonistas de uma história secular, são um reflexo e um testemunho da evolução das sociedades agrícolas. Actualmente, numa época marcada pelos modos de gestão sustentáveis, elas surgem como um elemento ecológico determinante para o bom funcionamento dos ecossistemas agrários, actuando como um corredor ecológico ao promover a simbiose entre diferentes habitats. O caso de estudo do Planalto Mirandês que aqui se apresenta tem como objectivos estudar e valorizar as sebes, sensibilizar a comunidade e realizar uma proposta de restauro ecológico, que propõe a regeneração da compartimentação desta paisagem. Deste modo, realizaram-se visitas de campo, questionários aos agricultores, um panfleto informativo e cartas de interpretação ecológica. Existem dois tipos de sebes no Planalto: uma sobretudo associada aos campos de cereal em que o carvalho-negral é a espécie dominante; e outra associada aos lameiros, em que o freixo é a espécie principal. Ambas desempenham um papel fundamental na protecção do gado, na demarcação da propriedade, na produção de lenha e folha, no fomento da biodiversidade, na conservação do solo e na protecção contra geadas e ventos. O estudo da evolução das sebes entre 1958 e 2016 numa freguesia em Miranda do Douro permitiu concluir o seguinte: as sebes de lameiro mantiveram-se quase na sua totalidade, pois continuam a ser muito importantes e são mais rentáveis; ao passo que as sebes de cereal desapareceram 20%, pois são menos rentáveis para o agricultor, tendo-se tornado incompatíveis com a modernização da agricultura. Contudo, continua a existir uma paisagem compartimentada muito evidente ao longo do território, visto que a maioria dos agricultores pretende preservar as sebes que, apesar das evoluções ocorridas, se têm mostrado resilientes na paisagem do Planalto

La presente tesis analiza la imagen estelar de la actriz norteamericana Jean Seberg así como su relevancia en un momento crucial de la historiografía cinematográfica: el tránsito del clasicismo a la modernidad. La tesis aborda las diversas facetas y características de su inusual estrellato tomando como base las tres primeras películas que protagonizó - Santa Juana (1957), Buenos días tristeza (1958), ambas dirigidas por Otto Preminger, y Al final de la escapada (Jean-Luc Godard, 1960) – así como Les hautes solitudes (Philippe Garrel, 1974), considerada su testamento fílmico. Como figura intermedia entre Hollywood y los nuevos cines europeos, entre el posclasicismo y la modernidad, el estudio de Jean Seberg permite llevar a cabo una revisión de la historia del cine que tenga en cuenta el papel fundamental de los intérpretes o, dicho de otro modo, repensar dicha historia a partir del gesto de la actriz. This dissertation analyzes the star image of American actress Jean Seberg and her relevance at a crucial moment in the history of cinema: the transition from classical to modern cinema. The thesis discusses the various aspects and features of her unusual stardom based on the analysis of her first three films - Saint Joan (1957) , Bonjour Tristesse (1958), both directed by Otto Preminger, and Breathless (Jean-Luc Godard, 1960) - as well as Les hautes solitudes (Philippe Garrel, 1974), considered as her film testament. As an intermediate figure between Hollywood and new European cinemas, between post-classicism and modernity, the study of Jean Seberg allows us to review the history of cinema taking into account the fundamental role of performers in it. Or, in other words, to rethink this history from the perspective of the gesture of the actress.

Partimos do pressuposto de que Seberi foi uma área de ocupação tardia dentro do estado do Rio Grande do Sul e, assim, buscamos compreender os motivos que acabaram transformando a porção norte do município de Palmeira das Missões em uma das últimas grandes reservas de terras disponíveis para os projetos de colonização do estado gaúcho. Buscou-se compreender os motivos que proporcionaram a valorização deste espaço, atraindo, assim, grupos de imigrantes de outras regiões do estado e a importante atuação do Estado através da Comissão de Terras e Colonização de Palmeira. E que, num período aproximado de 30 anos, tranformaram o então sertão de Palmeira em uma das áreas de maior densidade demográfica do Rio Grande do Sul. Esta dinâmica popula-cional acabou favorecendo a economia local e influenciando a formação de grupos de pessoas atuantes em cada uma das sedes distritais. Para que pudéssemos compreender a formação do município de Seberi, resgatamos aspectos históricos importantes sobre os agentes/atores que, ao se organizarem, visualizaram a possibilidade de buscar maior autonomia para o desenvolvimento de suas atividades econômicas através da emancipação do distrito de Seberi do município sede, Palmeira das Missões. In this study we analyzed some factors that we consider important for the formation of a city called Seberi-RS. We started from the estimative that Seberi was an area of delayed occupation inside Rio Grande do Sul State, through this way, we tried to understand the reasons that turned the portion north of the city Palmeira das Missões into one of the last available land reserves for the settling project of the State. We looked for understanding the reasons that had provided the valuation of this space, attracting groups of immigrants from other regions of the state and the important performance of the State through the Land Commission and Settling of Palmeira. Who, during a period about 30 years, had transformed the hinterland Palmeira in one of the areas of bigger demographic density of Rio Grande do Sul. This dynamics population finished favoring the local economy and influencing the formation of groups of people operating in each one of the headquarters districts. For us to understand the formation of Seberi, we rescue important historical aspects on the agents/actors who, organizing themselves, had visualized the possibility to search a greater autonomy for the development of its economic activities through the emancipation of the Seberi district of the headquarter city, Palmeiras das Missões.

Att SEB fick göra en kontraktion av sin verksamhet och skifta fokus mot företagskunderna i Tyskland berodde delvis på förändringar i de institutionella villkoren. Följande studie beskriver och analyserar SEB:s förvärv och försäljning av sin tyska kontorsverksamhet. En bakgrund ges till SEB:s expansion i Tyskland samt processen fram till kontraktionen. Empirin har huvudsakligen införskaffats genom djupgående semistrukturerade intervjuer och ställs mot en modell för svenska bankers internationaliseringsprocess i vår analys. Vår studie visar på vikten av att anpassa sig efter och ta till sig skillnader i kultur och marknadsstruktur när man expanderar internationellt.A

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the response of a steel smokestack structure to wind loads. A detailed computational model implementing the finite element method was created in accordance with the available drawing documentation. The new smokestack was placed next to an existing one, thus it can be assumed that these two structures will affect each other. The thesis also elaborates on the problems of aerodynamic and aeroelastic stability of the earlier smokestack; in particular, the occurrence of vortex shedding in resonance with eigenfrequency of the structure, with the use of the program ANSYS CFX. The evaluation of the structure includes survey of the strength and deflections of the structure. The calculations are in accordance with valid ČSN EN norms.

Sammandrag Denna studie behandlar Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) inom den svenska banksektorn, en sektor där ansvarsfrågor traditionellt inte uppmärksammats då banker inte ansetts ha stor inverkan på samhälls- och miljöproblem. Företag generellt förväntas idag aktivt arbeta med CSR-frågor, dock förekommer en strategi att kommunicera CSR istället för att agera, i syfte att stärka legitimiteten i varumärket. Studien belyser frågor kring CSR inom banksektorn, då det idag finns indikationer på att även banker måste arbeta med frågorna. Studien undersöker varför SEB, en av Sveriges storbanker, arbetar med CSR, hur de anpassar CSR till sin unika verksamhet och hur de väljer att kommunicera arbetet i syfte att skapa sig förtroende och legitimitet gentemot omvärlden. För att undersöka detta har en kvalitativ fallstudie genomförts, med intervjuer på SEB och Svenska Bankföreningen. De slutsatser som dras av studien är att det idag finns tendenser som visar att CSR blivit en institutionaliserad norm inom bankväsendet. SEB strävar efter att integrera hållbarhetsarbetet i sin kärnverksamhet för att uppnå långsiktighet. Resultaten visar även att SEB kommunicerar sitt hållbarhetsarbete med försiktighet. Samtidigt rapporterar hållbarhetsteamet till kommunikationschefen, något som tyder på att frågan är viktig ur ett kommunikations- och imageperspektiv. Abstract Purpose: This study aims at analyzing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the financial sector. CSR has been under debate and companies are expected to manage their businesses responsibly. Companies’ tendency to communicate about, but not act in these questions have been discussed and criticized. Companies often see CSR as a communicational issue and as a strategy to build a legitimate brand. The financial sector has not been subject for these kinds of discussions since they are not considered to have a great impact on societal issues, especially not environmental issues. Therefore, this study aims at shedding new light on CSR-issues in the financial sector, since today there are indications that also banks should pay attention to these questions. By studying one of Sweden’s four major banks, SEB, the authors examine why SEB works with CSR, how they translate CSR to fit their unique business, and how they communicate their CSR-commitments to gain trust and legitimacy. Method: To examine this, a qualitative case study has been made, and a semi-structured interview method has been used to collect material. This method has been supplemented with secondary material like annual reports and other. Results: In conclusion, the authors see proof that CSR has been institutionalized within the banking sector. SEB has put much emphasis on integrating their sustainability commitments into their core business, both by integrating responsibility aspects into the daily activities, and by developing concrete projects with responsibility profiles. This is done to create a long-term sustainable platform on which SEB:s business can grow. The results also show that SEB communicate their sustainability commitments with caution. However, the sustainability team reports to the chief of communications, which suggests that this question is of importance from a communications- and brand image perspective. Their strategy to “act first, talk after”, is a strategy that can be successful from a legitimacy point of view.

L'etude geomorphologique des pays du sebou prerifian, qui se situent dans le prerif central, consiste a analyser les caracteristiques des formes et des formations quaternaires et les manifestations de la morphodynamique actuelle. Trois generations de depots quaternaires s'etagent ou s'emboitent au dessus du niveau actuel de l'oued sebou. Le quaternaire ancien silicieux, rubefie et ferruginise est mis en place par des paleochenaux de l'ouerrha. Le quaternaire moyen se caracterise par une forte concentration de carbonate et par les deformations affectant les materiaux du niveau 5. L'originalite du quaternaire recent reside dans l'absence de la rubefaction des depots du niveau 2 et dans le fort remaniement des materiaux du niveau 1. La predominance des roches tendres, l'irregularite des aleas climatiques, et l'intensification de l'utilisation des sols favorisent le declechement de certains processus erosifs et accelerent d'autres. La plaine alluviale connait aussi une dynamique liee au role morphogenique du corps de l'oued sebou et de sa mobilite spatio-temporelle The geomorphologic study of prerifain lands of sebou consists of analysing the characteristic of forms and of quaternary formations and the actual morphodynamic manifestations. Three generations of settlings rise in tiers or encase above the actual level of sebou river. The ancient siliceous quaternary is put in place by the ancient channel of ouerrha. The middle quaternary is characterised by an encrusting and deformation of level 5 materials. The originality of the recent quaternary resides in the absence of the "rubefaction" of settlings of level 2 and the strong altering of materials of level 1. The predominance of soft rocks, the irregularity of climatic risks and the intensity of the use of earth over the excessive down grounds, favor the releasing of certain erosive process and accelarate others

CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior Desde 2012, a pÃgina cearense Suricate Seboso alcanÃou sucesso no Facebook ao publicar tirinhas e memes que representam elementos do cotidiano regional com um estilo humorÃstico e regionalista. A maior parte dos posts aborda temÃticas relativas Ã infÃncia em seus conteÃdos, por meio da construÃÃo estratÃgica de uma representaÃÃo sobre essa categoria, sobretudo em torno da caracterizaÃÃo do personagem infantil Sebosinho. Esta pesquisa tem o objetivo de identificar os principais efeitos de sentido embutidos nas estratÃgias de construÃÃo dessa representaÃÃo de infÃncia no conteÃdo da pÃgina. Com base em uma abordagem netnogrÃfica (KOZINETS, 1998; GEERTZ, 2014; FRAGOSO; RECUERO; AMARAL, 2011), que leva em conta o modelo de circulaÃÃo cultural de Richard Johnson (2010), a metodologia inclui a anÃlise especÃfica de 50 posts, de comentÃrios publicados pelos internautas e de entrevistas concedidas pelos produtores. A anÃlise dos posts selecionados buscou identificar os principais elementos representativos das gramÃticas das culturas infantis (SARMENTO, 2004) que foram estrategicamente utilizados na ediÃÃo dos conteÃdos de forma a produzir certos efeitos de sentido no pÃblico. As discussÃes trabalham com os conceitos de efeito de sentido (CHARAUDEAU, 2010), estratÃgia (CERTEAU, 1996), representaÃÃo (MOSCOVICI, 2004), infÃncia (QVORTRUP, 2010), culturas infantis (SARMENTO, 2004; CORSARO, 2011), cultura lÃdica (BROUGÃRE, 1997), formas simbÃlicas (THOMPSON, 1995), ethos (MAINGUENEAU, 1997), alÃm das consideraÃÃes de Lipovestky (2005) e Minois (2003) sobre humor, de Haesbaert (1999), Hall (2005) e Canclini (2008) sobre processos identificatÃrios e de Albuquerque Jr. (2003; 2006) e Carvalho (1994;2014) sobre regionalismo nordestino. A pesquisa destaca, sobretudo, trÃs efeitos principais, que sÃo fatores que ajudam a explicar o sucesso de pÃblico alcanÃado pela pÃgina: a produÃÃo de processos de identificaÃÃo, a evocaÃÃo do sentimento de nostalgia e a publicizaÃÃo do privado. Eles sÃo produzidos nÃo apenas sobre os internautas, mas tambÃm sobre os prÃprios produtores do conteÃdo, os quais consistem em amadores que conquistaram visibilidade e lucro com suas atividades na internet, principalmente ao criarem uma representaÃÃo de infÃncia que reforÃa elementos referentes a segmentos da sociedade definidos por recortes de regiÃo, classe social, geraÃÃo e gÃnero. Since 2012, the Suricate Sebosoâs fanpage, from CearÃ, a state located in Northeast Brazil, has gotten success in Facebook because it publishes comics and memes that represent elements from the regional quotidian by a humoristic and regionalist style. Most of the posts brings up subjects related to childhood in its contents, by the strategic construction of a representation about this category, mainly with the feature of the character Sebosinho, which is a child. The object of this research is to identify the main sense effects within the construction strategies of the childhood representation in the content of the fanpage. By an nethnographic approach (KOZINETS, 1998; GEERTZ, 2014; FRAGOSO; RECUERO; AMARAL, 2011), that considers the cultural circulation model by Richard Johnson (2010), the methodology includes the specific analysis of 50 posts, of comments published by the fans and of interviews gave by the producers. The selected postsâ analysis identified the main representative elements of the childhood cultureâs grammar (SARMENTO, 2004) which were used strategically in the edition of the contents, producing some sense effects on the audience. The discussions work with the concepts of sense effect (CHARAUDEAU, 2010), strategy (CERTEAU, 1996), representation (MOSCOVICI, 2004), childhood (QVORTRUP, 2010), childhood cultures (SARMENTO, 2004; CORSARO, 2011), ludic culture (BROUGÃRE, 1997), symbolic forms (THOMPSON, 1995), ethos (MAINGUENEAU, 1997), besides the considerations of Lipovetsky (2005) and Minois (2003) about humor, the ideas of Haesbaert (1999), Hall (2005) and Canclini (2008) about identification processes, and the discussions of Albuquerque Jr. (2003; 2006) and Carvalho (1994; 2004) about the regionalism from Northeast Brazil. The research highlight principally three main effects, which are factors that help to explain the audience success of the page: the production of identification processes, the evocation of nostalgia feeling and the publicization of private elements. They arenât produced only for the fans, but also for the own content producers, who are amateurs that got visibility and profit with their internet activities, mainly because they create a childhood representation that reinforce the elements referred to societyâs segments defined by the section of region, social class, generation and gender.

The discussions work with the concepts of sense effect (CHARAUDEAU, 2010), strategy (CERTEAU, 1996), representation (MOSCOVICI, 2004), childhood (QVORTRUP, 2010), childhood cultures (SARMENTO, 2004; CORSARO, 2011), ludic culture (BROUGÈRE, 1997), symbolic forms (THOMPSON, 1995), ethos (MAINGUENEAU, 1997), besides the considerations of Lipovetsky (2005) and Minois (2003) about humor, the ideas of Haesbaert (1999), Hall (2005) and Canclini (2008) about identification processes, and the discussions of Albuquerque Jr. (2003; 2006) and Carvalho (1994; 2004) about the regionalism from Northeast Brazil. The research highlight principally three main effects, which are factors that help to explain the audience success of the page: the production of identification processes, the evocation of nostalgia feeling and the publicization of private elements. They aren’t produced only for the fans, but also for the own content producers, who are amateurs that got visibility and profit with their internet activities, mainly because they create a childhood representation that reinforce the elements referred to society’s segments defined by the section of region, social class, generation and gender. Desde 2012, a página cearense Suricate Seboso alcançou sucesso no Facebook ao publicar tirinhas e memes que representam elementos do cotidiano regional com um estilo humorístico e regionalista. A maior parte dos posts aborda temáticas relativas à infância em seus conteúdos, por meio da construção estratégica de uma representação sobre essa categoria, sobretudo em torno da caracterização do personagem infantil Sebosinho. Esta pesquisa tem o objetivo de identificar os principais efeitos de sentido embutidos nas estratégias de construção dessa representação de infância no conteúdo da página. Com base em uma abordagem netnográfica (KOZINETS, 1998; GEERTZ, 2014; FRAGOSO; RECUERO; AMARAL, 2011), que leva em conta o modelo de circulação cultural de Richard Johnson (2010), a metodologia inclui a análise específica de 50 posts, de comentários publicados pelos internautas e de entrevistas concedidas pelos produtores. A análise dos posts selecionados buscou identificar os principais elementos representativos das gramáticas das culturas infantis (SARMENTO, 2004) que foram estrategicamente utilizados na edição dos conteúdos de forma a produzir certos efeitos de sentido no público. As discussões trabalham com os conceitos de efeito de sentido (CHARAUDEAU, 2010), estratégia (CERTEAU, 1996), representação (MOSCOVICI, 2004), infância (QVORTRUP, 2010), culturas infantis (SARMENTO, 2004; CORSARO, 2011), cultura lúdica (BROUGÈRE, 1997), formas simbólicas (THOMPSON, 1995), ethos (MAINGUENEAU, 1997), além das considerações de Lipovestky (2005) e Minois (2003) sobre humor, de Haesbaert (1999), Hall (2005) e Canclini (2008) sobre processos identificatórios e de Albuquerque Jr. (2003; 2006) e Carvalho (1994;2014) sobre regionalismo nordestino. A pesquisa destaca, sobretudo, três efeitos principais, que são fatores que ajudam a explicar o sucesso de público alcançado pela página: a produção de processos de identificação, a evocação do sentimento de nostalgia e a publicização do privado. Eles são produzidos não apenas sobre os internautas, mas também sobre os próprios produtores do conteúdo, os quais consistem em amadores que conquistaram visibilidade e lucro com suas atividades na internet, principalmente ao criarem uma representação de infância que reforça elementos referentes a segmentos da sociedade definidos por recortes de região, classe social, geração e gênero.

D'abord l'etude des types de formes engendrees ensuite l'analyse des processus dont elles decoules en tenant compte des facteures du milieu et de de l'action anthropique qui jouent un role primordial dans la genese de ces formes. Il ressort de cette etude que tous les secteurs de cette region connaissent des mouvements de terrain, c'est en effet la conjonction des facteurs de site, avec les facteurs declenchants qui explique au total la violence de l'erosion et la variete de ses manifestations. Les zones les plus exposees aux mouvements de terrain, sont celles ou le maximum de ces facteurs est present, ainsi, les formations meubles sont tres vulnerables des les faibles pentes, alors que les formations massives sont assez stables. Il s'est avere aussi, que les types de mouvements sont differents selon les secteurs, ainsi, les zones exposees au nord sont affectees par le ravinement et les mouvements de masses, et ceux exposes au sud, faconnees par le ruissellement en nappe decapante et le ravinement concentre evoluant en bad-lands Our study consists in analysing the manifestation of dynamics in the present state in middle sebou. This study shows us all the parts of this country know mouvements of ground, this is actually the conjonction of the site factors, with the releasing factors that explains the violence of the erosion and the diversity of its manifestations. The most exposed areas to the grand mouvements are the ones where most of these factors are present. So the running begining formations are very vulnerable begining from feable slopes,, where as the massive formations are stable enough. It appears also that the types of mouvements are different depending on the sectors, so the areas exposed to the north are touched by the gullying and the masses mouvements, the areas exposed to the south are shaped by the scearing runoff of the water and the concentrated gullying evoluing in bad-lands

L’eau constitue un des défis majeurs de notre époque quelque soit le continent, et à l’instar de nombreux pays de la rive sud de la méditerranée, le Maroc est particulièrement affecté par une pénurie d’eau. Il apparaît que pour pallier ce manque d’eau il est fait appel à la grande hydraulique (128 barrages au Maroc) pour alimenter, à partir des régions les plus arrosées, des bassins versants les plus propices ou des régions riches en eau souterraine, les villes principales ou des périmètres agricoles irrigués de grande surface. Néanmoins cette politique de grande hydraulique qui prévaut actuellement se heurte à plusieurs limites (durée limitée des réservoirs, nombres de sites propices, investissements) si bien qu’un des leviers prometteurs reste une gestion efficiente des ressources en eau. Cependant, pour bien les gérer il est essentiel de connaître la quantité d’eau disponible dans chaque bassin ainsi que ses différentes utilisations. Ce travail de thèse est une contribution à la connaissance de la ressource en eau sur un territoire clef. Le Moyen-Atlas, que l’on peut considérer comme le "château d’eau" du Maroc. Une démarche géographique est mise en place, tant au niveau de l’évaluation de la ressource que celle de l’utilisation, sur une des trois grandes unités hydrologiques qui draine le Moyen-Atlas : le bassin versant du Sebou à l’amont de la station hydrométrique d’Azzaba. Organisé en 4 parties ce travail, inscrit dans un cadre de coopération franco-marocain, démontre l’hétérogénéité des processus hydrologiques en relation avec un contexte géographique montagnard complexe. Tant l’analyse des phases hydrologiques que l’apport de la modélisation démontrent une contribution importante des eaux souterraines aux débits des cours d’eau mais également l’importance de sa redistribution à l’intérieur du bassin du Haut Sebou et vers les bassins contigus. D’autre part une enquête auprès des agriculteurs démontre les mutations agricoles en cours dans ce secteur du Moyen-Atlas et met en évidence les changements des modes de prélèvement d’eau dans l’hydrosystème : le système traditionnel de prélèvement au fil de l’eau étant de plus en plus concurrencé par des prélèvements à même la nappe par pompage Water is one of the major issues of our time in all continents. Like many countries on the southern shore of the Mediterranean Sea, Morocco is particularly affected by water shortages. It seems that to overcome this lack of water, the country uses large hydro (128 dams in Morocco) to power, from the regions that receive the largest amounts of rain, or regions richest in groundwater, major cities and agricultural areas irrigated large area. However, this large and predominant hydraulic policy faces such several limitations (limited life of reservoirs, number of sites suitable, and investment) that promising levers remain efficient ways of managing water resources. However, to effectively manage this, it is essential to know the amount of water available in each basin and its different uses. This thesis is a contribution to the knowledge of water resources in a key area. The Middle Atlas can be considered the "water tower" of Morocco. A geographical approach is in place, both in terms of the resource assessment and use of one of three major hydrological units that drains the Middle Atlas: the watershed of the Sebou up stream of the hydrometric station Azzaba. set in 4 parts, this work- being of the Franco-Moroccan academic cooperation- demonstrates the heterogeneity of hydrological processes in relation to a complex mountainous geographical context. Both the analysis of hydrological phases and the contribution of modeling show a significant contribution of groundwater to stream flow, the importance of redistribution within the basin of the Upper Sebu and from adjacent basins. In this regard, research in the form of survey aimed at apopulation farmers shows agricultural changes forming in the Middle Atlas sector, and highlights the changes in water sampling modes in river systems, the traditional sampling system over water being increasingly challenged by levies same groundwater pumping

BROWN Jr., GEORGE GORDON . Comparing Bayesian, Maximum Likelihood and Classical Estimates for the Jolly-Seber Model. (Under the direction of John F. Monahan and Kenneth H. Pollock)In 1965 Jolly and Seber proposed a model to analyze data for open population capture-recapture studies. Despite frequent use of the Jolly-Seber model, likelihood-based inference is complicated by the presence of a number of unobservable variables that cannot be easily integrated from the likelihood. In order to avoid integration, various statistical methods have been employed to obtain meaningful parameter estimates. Conditional maximum likelihood, suggested by both Jolly and Seber, has become the standard method. Two new parameter estimation methods, applied to the Jolly-Seber Model D, are presented in this thesis. The first new method attempts to obtain maximum likelihood estimates after integrating all of the unobservable variables from the Jolly-Seber Model D likelihood. Most of the unobservable variables can be analytically integrated from the likelihood. However, the variables dealing with the abundance of uncaptured individuals must be numerically integrated. A FORTRAN program was constructed to perform the numerical integration and search for MLEs using a combination of fixed quadrature and Newton's method. Since numerical integration tends to be very time consuming, MLEs could only be obtained from capture-recapture studies with a small number of sampling periods. In order to test the validity of the MLE, a simulation experiment was conducted that obtained MLEs from simulated data for a wide variety of parameter values. Variance estimates for these MLEs were obtained using the Chapman-Robbins lower bound. These variances estimates were used to construct 90% confidence intervals with approximately correct coverage. However, in cases with few recaptures the MLEs performed poorly. In general, the MLEs tended to perform well on a wide variety of the simulated data sets and appears to be a valid tool for estimating population characteristics for open populations. The second new method employs the Gibbs sampler on an unintegrated and an integrated version of the Jolly-Seber Model D likelihood. For both version full conditional distributions are easily obtained for all parameters of interest. However, sampling from these distributions is non-trivial. Two FORTRAN programs were developed to run the Gibbs sampler for the unintegrated and the integrated likelihoods respectively. Means, medians, modes and variances were constructed from the resulting empirical posterior distributions and used for inference. Spectral density was used to construct a variance estimate for the posterior mean. Equal-tailed posterior density regions were directly calculated from the posteriors distributions. A simulation experiment was conducted to test the validity of density regions. These density regions also have approximately the proper coverage provided that the capture probability is not too small. Convergence to a stationary distribution is explored for both version of the likelihood. Often, convergence was difficult to detect, therefore a test of convergence was constructed by comparing two independent chains from both version of the Gibbs sampler. Finally, an experiment was constructed to compare these two new methods and the traditional conditional maximum likelihood estimates using data simulated from a capture-recapture experiment with 4 sampling periods. This experiment showed that there is little difference between the conditional maximum likelihood estimates and the 'true' maximum likelihood estimates when the population size is large. A second simulation experiment was conducted to determine which of the 3 estimation methods provided the 'best' estimators. This experiment was largely inconclusive as no single method routinely outperformed the others

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the analysis of eurasian beavers foraging behaviour and their strategy of getting food in the long-term perspective. First part (theoretical) of the thesis contains an explanation of the theory of the central place foraging, animal selective behaviour when food is selected and central place foraging influence on trees fertility. In this part is also mentioned the predation risk or how does the beaver perceives competitive pressure from other animals, and factors that can cause the change in population density of beaver colonies. The objective of this work is to determine the effect of long-term beaver populating on the volume of comsumed biomass and expanse of the territory, and a comparison of these results with one another in terms of different times of occupated territories. The second part describes the methodical procedure of the field survey. Data I collected from the areas of Šumava, Český les and South Moravia. I tried to find out, how the beaver´s foraging behaviour is induced depending on time inhabiting the territory and on increasing distance from the shore. This research shows that the beaver trips for food increases with age of occupation in 7-10 years and then the distance of tree cuts declined again from the shore. The volume of consumed biomass in reliance of increasing time of beaver occupation also decline and the most favoured tree species was an oak tree for which beavers were willing to walk long distances. The results of the simple analysis are presented as a measurement for both the entire region and also for each territory.

A incorporação de polianilina em matrizes de elastômeros termoplásticos é uma alternativa bastante interessante para produção de blendas condutoras de eletricidade com excelente propriedade mecânica semelhante a uma borracha vulcanizada sem a necessidade do uso de agentes de vulcanização e facilmente processável. Neste trabalho, foram preparadas blendas poliméricas de elastômero termoplástico de poliestireno-bloco-poli-(etileno-ran-butileno)-bloco-poliestireno (SEBS) e polianilina protonada com ácido dodecil benzeno sulfônico (PAni.ADBS) a partir de duas técnicas i) mistura dos componentes em solvente comum e ii) polimerização da anilina na presença de uma solução de SEBS, denominada neste trabalho de polimerização #in situ#. A análise de espectrosocopia fotoeletrônica de Raios-X (XPS) mostrou que a polianilina sintetizada a partir da polimerização da anilina na presença de ADBS está completamente protonada, apresentando condutividade elétrica de aproximadamente 5 S.cm-1. Os resultados apresentados nesse trabalho mostraram que a técnica de obtenção de blendas de SEBS/PAni.ADBS exerce influência significativa nas propriedades mecânicas, condutividade elétrica e morfologia da mistura. Os ensaios eletromecânicos realizados para avaliar a resposta elétrica das blendas em função da tensão de compressão mostraram que as blendas de SEBS/PAni.ADBS obtidas pelas técnicas de polimerização em solução e #in situ#são materiais promissores para serem utilizados como sensores de pressão. The increasing demand for electrical conducting polymeric materials with good processing properties has encouraged several research groups in developing systems formed by conducting polymer particles dispersed in insulating polymer matrices. Incorporation of polyaniline (PAni) into thermoplastic elastomers can be used to produce materials that potentially combine the good mechanical properties and processability of thermoplastic elastomers with electrical, magnetic and optical characteristics of PAni. In this research the PAni doped with dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (PAni.DBSA), used in the preparation of the blends, was prepared by the #in situ doping polymerization# method. PAni.DBSA was blended with polystyrene-block-poly(ethylene-ran-butylene)-block-polystyrene copolymer (SEBS) through two different techniques: i) solution casting blends and ii) #in situ# polymerization of aniline in the presence of the SEBS. The SEBS/PAni.DBSA blends were characterized by optical microscopy, eletromecanical tests and its electrical conductivities were measured by four-probe method. The results obtained in this work shows that the electrical conductivity and mechanical properties of the resulting SEBS/PAni.DBSA are significantly influenced through the method employed to prepare conducting polymer blends. The results obtained by electromechanical test had shown that the SEBS/PAni.ADBS blends prepared through solution casting and #in situ# techniques are promising material to be used as sensor of pressure.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior The issue involving the proper management of municipal solid waste is still a serious problem that affects mainly developing countries, just as Brazil. Only in 2010, with the implementation of the National Solid Waste Policy from the Federal Law No 12.305, this issue began to gain traction in the social and economic environment. In this law one of the proposals is the removal and recovery inappropriate sites for the disposal of municipal waste. The adverse consequences of waste disposal involve two fundamental issues, regarding the contaminants migration and another that deals with the sites stability used for their disposal. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the support of the geological environment for the operation of a landfill. The enterprise is a public consortium, licensed by the responsible environmental agency, and is located in the northwest region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in the Volcanic Plateau Province of Serra Geral. Thus, there were performed studies of the soil, involving physical, chemical and geotechnical parameters. Regarding the groundwater quality parameters, there were evaluated the water of four active monitoring wells and one of supply, besides the water level variation in a period exceeding hydrologic year. The soil was classified as very clayey, with average clay content of 86 %, and predominance of micropores, common in clayey soils. The saturated hydraulic conductivity of the not compacted soil presented values in the order of 10-4 cm.s-1. Geotechnical parameters were within the described by current standards, with mean values of liquid limit, plastic and shrinkage of 68,83, 41,73 and 28,94 %, respectively, being the soil classified like highly plastic. In relation to the clay fraction, its colloidal activity was classified with low activity, with the presence of non-expansive kaolinite 1:1. The soil presented low values of cation exchange capacity, it was also identified that only copper and chrome elements were above proposed by State law. In relation to the qualitative parameters of groundwater, was identified changes in the concentration of coliforms, nitrate and ammoniacal nitrogen, in some of the samples. In the quantitative matter the area showed a wide variation in water levels, and the rainfall showed significant correlation at 5 % with the water level in three monitoring wells (01, 03 and 05), situated in different positions in the landscape. Regarding the aquifer vulnerability to contamination, the area was classified as a low vulnerability area. Thus, it is concluded that the shallow aquifer in the study area showed variable behavior, in local and regional scales. Changes were identified in the quality of the groundwater in some samples in different periods, between 2007 and 2015. A questão envolvendo a gestão adequada dos resíduos sólidos urbanos é um grave problema que afeta principalmente os países em desenvolvimento, assim como o Brasil. Apenas no ano de 2010, com a implementação da Política Nacional dos Resíduos Sólidos, a partir da Lei Federal Nº 12.305, essa questão começou a ganhar espaço no meio social e econômico. Nessa lei, uma entre as propostas apresentadas, é a eliminação e recuperação dos locais inapropriados para a disposição dos resíduos urbanos. As consequências adversas da disposição de resíduos envolvem duas questões fundamentais, uma relativa à migração dos contaminantes e outra que trata da estabilidade dos locais usados para sua disposição. Nesse sentido, este estudo tem por objetivo analisar o suporte do meio geológico para a operação de um aterro sanitário. O empreendimento é um consórcio público, licenciado pelo órgão ambiental competente, e está localizado na região noroeste do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, na Província Vulcânica do Planalto da Serra Geral. Assim, foram realizados estudos de solo, envolvendo parâmetros físicos, químicos e geotécnicos. Em relação à água subterrânea, foram avaliados parâmetros de qualidade da água de quatro poços de monitoramento ativos e um de abastecimento, além da variação do nível da água em um período superior a um ano hidrológico. O solo foi classificado como muito argiloso, com teores de argila médios de 86 %, e predominância de microporos, comuns em solos argilosos. A condutividade hidráulica saturada do solo não compactado apresentou valores na ordem de 10-4 cm.s-1. Os parâmetros geotécnicos estiveram dentro dos descritos pelas normas vigentes, com valores médios de limite de liquidez, plasticidade e contração de 68,83, 41,73 e 28,94 %, respectivamente, sendo o solo classificado como altamente plástico. Em relação a fração argila, sua atividade coloidal foi classificada como de baixa atividade, com presença do argilomineral não expansivo caulinita 1:1. O solo apresentou baixos valores de capacidade de troca de cátions, também foi identificado que apenas os elementos Cobre e Cromo estiveram acima do proposto pela legislação do Estado. No que se refere aos parâmetros qualitativos da água subterrânea, identificou-se alterações na concentração de coliformes termotolerantes, nitrato e nitrogênio amoniacal, em algumas amostras. Na questão quantitativa, a área apresentou uma grande variação no nível da água, sendo que a precipitação pluviométrica indicou correlação significativa ao nível de 5 % com o nível da água em três poços de monitoramento (01, 03 e 05), situadas em distintas posições na paisagem. Em relação à vulnerabilidade do aquífero à contaminação, a área foi classificada como de baixa vulnerabilidade. Com isso, conclui-se que o aquífero raso na área do estudo apresentou comportamento variável, em escala local e regional. Foram identificadas alterações na qualidade da água subterrânea em algumas amostras em distintos períodos, entre os anos de 2007 e 2015.

L’objectif principal de ce travail de thèse est d’évaluer l'impact des activités anthropiques sur le fonctionnement des systèmes aquatiques. L’impact des rejets urbains de Fès sur le Sebou, l'une des plus grandes rivières du Maroc, a été choisi pour cette étude. Les eaux usées domestiques et industrielles de la ville de Fès (~1M hab), véhiculées par son affluent l’oued Fès, sont rejetées dans le Sebou quasiment sans traitement. Deux sites du Sebou, en amont et en aval des rejets de la ville de Fès, et un site situé sur l’oued Fès ont été étudiés. Une campagne de prélèvement de carottes de sédiments et onze campagnes mensuelles de prélèvement d’eau et de matières en suspension (MES) ont été effectuées dans le but de quantifier les apports en nutriments, éléments traces métalliques (ETM) et carbone organique afin d’étudier la dynamique de ces polluants. Les résultats obtenus ont mis en évidence une augmentation des concentrations de presque tous les éléments étudiés en aval de la ville de Fès aussi bien dans la colonne d’eau que dans les sédiments. L’étude des carottes sédimentaires a révélé une contamination modérée par les butylétains totaux (ΣBT) avec la prédominance du monobutyétain dans les trois sites d’étude et sur toutes les profondeurs. Les sédiments du Sebou, en amont de la ville de Fès se caractérisent par les teneurs les plus faibles en métaux alors que ceux de l’oued Fès présentent une forte pollution polymétallique, accentuée dans les sédiments de surface, ce qui reflète clairement la signature d'apports anthropiques récents résultant des rejets non traités de la ville de Fès. L’augmentation consécutive des teneurs des métaux dans les sédiments du Sebou en aval de la confluence Fès-Sebou traduit l'influence significative des particules polluées de l’oued Fès. Dans la colonne d’eau, les concentrations mesurées dans le Sebou en amont de la confluence Fès-Sebou sont proches des rivières naturelles, à l’exception de Cl-, Cr, Na+ et NO3- dont les concentrations traduisent des pollutions agricoles et/ou domestiques. En revanche, la signature anthropique des rejets de la ville de Fès apparait évidente dans les eaux de l’oued Fès qui montrent des concentrations très élevées en ETM dissous et particulaires. La majorité des ETM provenant des apports anthropiques subissent des changements importants de leur coefficient de distribution Kd et présentent un comportement non conservatif dans le mélange entre les eaux du Sebou et celles de l’oued Fès. Ces résultats ont été confirmés par le modèle WHAM qui permet de prédire correctement le fractionnement dissous/particulaire, du Cu, Pb et Zn. La spéciation chimique de ces éléments ainsi que leur répartition dissous/particulaire apparaissent significativement influencées par les conditions particulières (anoxie, forte contamination, teneurs importantes en matière organique) des eaux de l’oued Fès. Ces conditions sont aussi à l’origine du comportement non conservatif de la majorité des éléments lors d'un mélange Sebou/Fès, observé aussi bien dans la colonne d’eau que dans les sédiments The main goal of this PhD was to evaluate the impact of the anthropogenic activities (urban, industrial or agricultural activities) on aquatic systems. The Fez metropolitan area and its impacts on the Sebou River, the main Moroccan river, were chosen as a case study. The Fez agglomeration (~1M hab), is surrounded by the Fez River, receiving the wastewaters of this developing city and then flowing into the Sebou. This work was performed on two sites along the Sebou River (upstream and downstream from the confluence with Fez River), and one site in the Fez River, downstream from the Fez city. One sampling campaigns of sediment cores and eleven sampling campaigns were performed during low flow conditions to quantify nutrients, organic carbon and trace metals and to study the dynamic and the transport of trace elements in the Sebou and Fez rivers. The obtained results revealed a global increase of studied elements in the Sebou River from upstream to downstream sampling site, in both sediments and water column. A moderate level of contamination by butyltins was observed, with monobutyltin being the dominant species across all sites and depths. The lowest level of metal pollution was identified in the Sebou's sediments upstream Fez city. Whilst the Fez' sediments were heavily polluted and exhibited bottom-up accumulation trends, which clearly evidence recent inputs from the untreated wastewaters of Fez city. The increase of metal levels in Sebou downstream sediments reflects a significant contribution of polluted particles from the Fez River. Dissolved and particulate concentrations of most of the analyzed elements in the Sebou, upstream from Fez city, are close to the natural rivers, except Cl-, Cr, Na+ et NO3- probably due to untreated urban inputs from several small/medium-size towns located upstream Fez. In the opposite On the contrary, high dissolved and particulate trace metals concentrations in the Fez River clearly indicated strong anthropogenic inputs from Fez city. Most of the studied trace metals originated from anthropogenic sources, underwent significant changes of Kd and behaved non-conservatively in the Sebou/Fez waters mixing due to drastic changes of the waters quality (anoxic condition, high concentration, high organic matter content). Dissolved/particulate partitioning were correctly assessed by WHAM-VII modeling for Cu, Pb and Zn, depicting significant differences in chemical speciation in Fez River when compared to Sebou one

Sedan 1980-talet har avregleringen av den finansiella sektorn öppnat nya vägar för svenska bankers internationalisering. Detta har inneburit att de svenska storbankerna i allt större utsträckning blickat utanför Sveriges gränser. Men processen att etablera sig på en ny marknad utomlands är inte riskfri. Skillnader mellan länder samt företagens begränsade kunskap, skapar osäkerhet och hinder att förstå nya marknader. Kina är ett exempel på en marknad som till följd av stark ekonomisk utveckling och successiv avreglering lockat många svenska företag, trots att marknaden anses komplex och förknippas med hög risk. Denna undersökning avser att studera detta fenomen närmare genom att beskriva hur SEB:s internationaliseringsprocess i Kina gått till och därigenom belysa bankens riskhantering och incitament att vara etablerad i landet. En kvalitativ metod har genomförts och data har baserats på både primärkällor och sekundärkällor. Resultaten indikerar att SEB:s drivkraft att verka på den kinesiska marknaden är att följa sina kunder. Genom en stegvis etablering har erfarenhet och ny kunskap erhållits som minskat osäkerhet och därmed risk. Ju mer kunskapen har ökat, desto mer har engagemangen i landet vuxit. Since the 1980s, deregulation of the financial sector has opened new ways for the internationalization of Swedish banks. As a result, the Swedish banks increasingly look beyond the nation's borders. But the process of establishment on a new market abroad is not without risk. Differences between countries and companies limited knowledge creates uncertainty and barriers in understanding new markets. China is an example of a market that, as a result of strong economic development and gradual deregulation, attracted Swedish companies, despite the fact that the market is considered complex and associated with high risk. This study intends to examine this phenomenon closer by describing how SEB's internationalization process in China has proceeded, highlighting the bank's risk management and incentives to be established in the country. A qualitative method has been implemented with data based on both primary sources and secondary sources. The results indicate that SEB's driving force to act on the Chinese market is to follow its customers. Through a gradual establishment, experience and new knowledge has been obtained reducing uncertainty and thus risk. With increasing knowledge follows deeper commitment in the country.

För banker finns en mängd utmaningar med att uttrycka sig i skrift när man kommunicerar med sina kunder. Texterna behöver uppfylla ett flertal olika funktioner, och därtill är ofta en mängd olika skribenter inblandade i skrivprocessen. Denna uppsats ansluter till tidigare forskning om bankvärlden och dess texter. I den här uppsatsen undersöker jag intertextualitet och röster som finns i tre texter från SEB. Dessa handlar om produkten investeringssparkonto (ISK). ISK lanserades som ny produkt för två år sedan och är omgärdad av regleringar via lag, finansinspektion och bankens egna marknadsföringsstrategier och skrivriktlinjer. Genom att kartlägga rösterna med verktyg från den systemisk-funktionella grammatiken synliggörs flerstämmighet i texterna och flera olika modelläsare framträder. Flerstämmigheten syns utifrån olika sorters tilltal och omtal, språkhandlingar och rekontextualiseringar. Totalt framträder fyra stycken röster i texten. Dessa konstruerar var och en fyra olika modelläsare som textens empiriska läsare måste förhålla sig till.

O biodiesel é um combustível biodegradável e alternativo ao diesel de petróleo constituído de ésteres alquílicos de ácidos graxos. Os ésteres alquílicos são produzidos a partir da transesterificação de óleos vegetais ou gorduras animais com álcool na presença de um catalisador ácido ou básico. Neste trabalho o biodiesel foi obtido pela reação de transesterificação do sebo bovino com metanol utilizando KOH como catalisador. A matéria-prima e o biodiesel foram caracterizados quanto a sua composição de ácidos graxos, índice de iodo e índice de acidez. Foram produzidas misturas diesel/biodiesel em várias concentrações. Os ésteres metílicos de gordura animal e as suas formulações com diesel foram avaliados em relação a algumas propriedades combustíveis de acordo como as normas ASTM. Todos os ensaios demonstraram que o biodiesel e suas formulações com o diesel podem apresentar resultados semelhantes ou melhores que os do diesel mineral. Em geral o índice de cetanos, o ponto de fulgor, o ponto de entupimento, a densidade e a viscosidade cinemática aumentam conforme aumenta o teor de biodiesel nas misturas diesel/biodiesel. O B100 e as misturas diesel/biodiesel também foram comparados com o diesel através de testes de consumo em um motor a diesel utilizado para geração de energia e encontrou-se um pequeno aumento no consumo conforme se aumenta o teor de biodiesel nas misturas. Biodiesel is a biodegradable and alternative fuel for petroleum diesel, it is formed by alkyl esters of fatty acids. The alkyl esters are produced from transesterification of vegetable oils or animal fats with alcohol in the presence of an acid or basic catalyst. In this work the biodiesel was obtained by transesterification reaction of bovine fat with methanol using KOH as catalyst. The raw material and the biodiesel were characterized through their composition on fatty acids, iodine number and acid number. Blends of diesel/biodiesel were produced in several concentrations and were appraised in relation to some combustible properties according to the ASTM standards. All assays demonstrated that the biodiesel and their formulations with diesel can present similar results, or sometimes better results, than those of mineral diesel. In a general way, cetane number, flash point, plugging point, density and cinematic viscosity increase when the amount of biodiesel in the blends was increased. Blends diesel/biodiesel and biodiesel (B100) were also compared with the diesel through consumption tests in a diesel engine used for energy generation and it was found that the consumption increase with the amount of biodiesel.

Neste trabalho o biodiesel foi obtido pela reação de transesterificação do sebo bovino, do óleo de soja e óleo de frango com metanol, utilizando KOH como catalisador. Além de produzir biodiesel dos óleos de soja e frango e do sebo bovino individualmente, também foi produzido biodiesel a partir de misturas binárias dos mesmos em diferentes proporções. Os óleos e gorduras utilizados como matéria-prima foram caracterizados quanto à composição de ácidos graxos, índice de acidez e índice de iodo. O biodiesel produzido foi submetido às análises do índice de acidez, composição de ácidos graxos e propriedades combustíveis, de acordo com as normas ASTM. Estas análises confirmaram que o método de transesterificação metílica alcalina nas condições aplicadas foi satisfatório para converter os ácidos graxos presentes nos óleos e gorduras aplicadas em ésteres metílicos, visto que suas propriedades combustíveis apresentaram-se de acordo com a especificação brasileira para as mesmas. As análises também demonstraram que a mistura de óleos e gorduras conferiram características semelhantes ao biodiesel obtido dos mesmos óleos e gorduras individualmente. Entre as amostras, o biodiesel de sebo bovino, com ésteres metilicos majoritários saturados, apresentou ponto de entupimento de filtro a frio mais elevado que os demais, e não adequado para ser utilizado em regiões frias. Notando-se que a adição de óleo de soja ou outro óleo com menor conteúdo de saturações, como o de frango, ao sebo bovino antes da transesterificação confere uma melhor característica ao produto final, o biodiesel. Biodiesel is a biodegradable fuel, alternative to petrodiesel constituted by a mixture of alkyl (methyl or ethyl) esters of fatty acids. Fatty acids methyl esters (FAMEs) may be produced from the transesterification of vegetal oils or animal fats with methanol in the presence of a catalyst (acid or basic). In this work biodiesel was obtained by the transesterification of beef tallow, soybean oil and chicken oil, using KOH as catalyst and methanol. Beyond the production of biodiesel from these individual oils, it was also produced biodiesel starting from blends of these oils in variable proportions. The raw materials were characterized by acidic index, iodine index and chromatographic profile of fatty acids, while biodiesels were submitted to the main analyses of fuel properties, according the ASTM norms. The analyses confirmed that the transesterification method was satisfactory for all the raw materials and mixtures of them, due to the results of specification tests for the ANP 42 Resolution. These analyses also demonstrated that the mixtures of raw materials have similar properties to biodiesels from individual ones. Beef tallow, the most saturated raw material in this study, presented the higher cold filter plugging point, which avoided its utilization pure in cold climate regions. The temperature properties of beef tallow biodiesel can be reasonable improved by adding soybean oil or chicken oil in the raw material before transesterification.

La thèse porte sur l'analyse de l'action publique dans le domaine de l'eau d'irrigation au Maroc. Nous analysons la rencontre entre un projet étatique d'aménagement, et un territoire rural au Maroc, à travers les configurations des acteurs et les enjeux locaux de ses composantes sociales et politiques. Comment le projet d'irrigation a-t-il permis d'accélérer une reconfiguration des rapports de pouvoirs et du leadership local, que nous avons analysé à travers les logiques des différents acteurs. Nous avons adopté un cadre analytique emprunté à la sociologie politique et basé sur l'analyse de l'action publique dans le domaine de l'irrigation. Ce cadre analytique nous a permis de mobiliser en parallèle deux modèles d'analyse : 1) le modèle synoptique pour l'analyse d'une action publique monopolisée par les acteurs publics, 2) celui des ajustements mutuels pour l'analyse d'une multitude d'acteurs dans une situation où l'Etat n'a plus le monopole de l'action publique. Nous avons fais le choix méthodologique d'analyser les acteurs en action, en privilégiant un travail empirique basé sur l'analyse des pratiques, et en décryptant une généalogie fine du projet d'irrigation du Moyen Sebou au Maroc. C'est une zone aménagée par les pouvoirs publics dans une perspective de gestion centralisée par l'administration agricole. Les négociations avec le bailleur de fonds, surgies lors du débat international sur la Gestion Participative en Irrigation, ont amené l'administration à confier la gestion de l'irrigation après aménagement à des agriculteurs organisés en associations The subject of this thesis is the analysis of public action in the field of irrigation water in Morocco. We analyze the confrontation of a state-led irrigation project, and a rural territory in the North of Morocco, by looking at the configuration and interaction of actors and local issues of its social and political components. How did the irrigation project contribute to the acceleration of a reconfiguration of power relations and local leadership in the area? Our analysis examined this question through the logic of the different actors. We worked within an analytical framework borrowed from political sociology and based on the analysis of state action in the field of irrigation. This analytical framework allowed us to identify two parallel models of analysis: 1) the synoptic model for the analysis of public action monopolized by public actors, 2) the mutual adjustments for the analysis of a multitude of actors in a situation where the state no longer has the monopoly of public action. We have made the methodological choice of analyzing the actors in action, focusing on empirical work based on the analysis of practices, and by decrypting a fine genealogy of the Moyen Sebou scheme in Morocco. The area is managed by public authorities in the context of a state-centralized management of the agricultural administration. Negotiations with the financial donors, that took place during the international debate on ‘Participative Irrigation Management', led the public administration to entrust the management of irrigation to farmers who are active in associations

Abstract:

Neste trabalho, foram preparadas blendas de polipropileno (PP) com elastômeros termoplásticos (TPE) tipo SBS (poliestireno-bloco-polibutadieno-blocopoliestireno) e tipo SEBS (poliestireno-bloco-poli(etileno-co-butileno)-blocopoliestireno) a fim de se avaliar a influência do tipo e concentração de elastômero nas propriedades do polímero final. Foram utilizados como matrizes de polipropileno um homopolímero (PP-H) e um copolímero aleatório de propileno-co-etileno (PP-R). A fim de avaliar o efeito da presença de um agente nucleante na matriz PP-R, algumas blendas de PP-R/TPE foram preparadas utilizando-se dibenzilideno sorbitol (DBS). Os resultados mostraram que o TPE teve efeito nucleante na cristalização do PP, aumentando a temperatura de cristalização (Tc) e estreitando o pico de fusão, sendo que o SBS teve um maior efeito do que o SEBS em ambas matrizes, resultando em maiores valores de Tc. Embora o efeito de nucleação possa mudar a cristalinidade da matriz na blenda, as propriedades mecânicas foram mais suscetíveis às alterações na morfologia ou dispersão do TPE nas matrizes de PP. Estudos de microscopia eletrônica de varredura (MEV) mostraram que as morfologias das blendas com TPE apresentaram-se diferenciadas, dependendo do tipo e principalmente da quantidade adicionada de TPE em cada matriz. Na matriz PP-H observou-se um maior número de domínios de TPE do que nas matrizes PP-R e PP-RN O tamanho médio dos domínios elastoméricos nas blendas PP/SEBS foram menores e mais bem dispersos do que nas blendas PP/SBS, resultando em um material com melhor resistência ao impacto à baixa temperatura. Ensaios de tensão-deformação mostraram que a adição dos TPES diminui a tensão no escoamento e o módulo de Young para todas matrizes, aumentando o alongamento na ruptura de forma mais significativa no caso das blendas PP-R/TPE. Ambos TPES tiveram igual influência nas propriedades de tração, especialmente com a matriz PPR, mostrando que ambos elastômeros podem ser usados como modificadores de impacto, em diferentes formulações que atendam aplicações específicas de mercado.

Abstract:

Le phénomène de la sécheresse au Maroc soulève des approches qui tentent d'expliquer son organisation dans le temps et dans l'espace. A partir d'un exemple régional, ce travail engage une réflexion sur ce phénomène et sa caractérisation. Le contexte général du bassin versant du Haut Sebou a permis de mettre en valeur les contrastes naturels que soulève sa géographie. Les infiltrations sont généralisées en amont du bassin et annoncent la modicité et la fragilité des ressources en eau disponibles. La caractérisation de la sécheresse climatique récente est basée sur des données pluviométriques. La variabilité temporelle du climat est de règle et maintient une situation moyenne non inquiétante jusqu'aux années 70. En revanche, les 25 dernières années sont dites "organisées", car il existe une tendance avec des précipitations annuelles de plus en plus faibles. Ce déficit pluviométrique est accompagné d'une saison sèche plus longue en aval du bassin. L'utilisation de méthodes de cartographie des précipitations (interpolateurs simples, modèles statistiques, géostatiques multivariées) et l'apport des variables complémentaires MNT (modèle numérique de terrain) et NDVI (indice de végétation par différence normalisée ont permis de réaliser des cartes de précipitations moyennes annuelles pour des périodes différentes. La variabilité interannuelle du climat et la diversité spatiale des conditions lithologiques montrent l'incidence de la sécheresse climatique sur le régime hydrologique du haut Sebou et témoignent d'un fonctionnement très complexe. Des campagnes de mesures des débits d'étiage confirment l'hétérogénéité spatiale des ressources en eau, inhérente à l'anisotropie des aquifères traversés et la diversité des milieux. L'homme dans le haut Sebou montre, par ses interventions, un savoir-faire dans l'utilisation des eaux disponibles, mais il peut aussi se comporter de manière irrationnelle vis-à-vis de cette ressource The phenomenon of the drought in Morocco is studied by approaches which try to explain its organization in time and in space. From a regional example, this work engages a reflection on this phenomenon and its characterization. The general context of the "haut Sebou" basin allowed to highlight the natural contrasts which characterize its geography. Infiltrations are generalized upstream in the basin and announce lowness and fragility of resources in water available. The recent climatic drought and its characterization was led from data rainfall. The temporal variability of the climate is evident and it maintains a non disturbing average situation until the 70s. On the other hand, the last 25 years are called "organized", because there is a trend with annual precipitations more and more weak. This rainfall deficit is accompanied with a longer dry season downstream in the basin. The use of methods of cartography of precipitation (simples interpolators, stastical models, multivariate geostatistics) and the contribution of additional variable (DEM and NDVI) allowed to realize maps of annual average precipitation for different periods. The interannual variability of the climate and the spatial variety of lithologic conditions show the incidence of the climatic drought on the hydrological regime of "haut Sebou" and evidence a very complex functioning. Campaigns of measures of the low-water discharge confirm the spatial heterogeneousness of resources in water, inherent to the anisotropy of the crossed aquifers and to the variety of the environment. The man in the "haut Sebou" can, by the interventions, give evidence of a know-how in the use of the available waters, but he can also behave in a irrational way face to face of this resource

Dieses Material soll es dem Lehrer ermöglichen, schnell und mit wenig Arbeitsaufwand eine oder mehrere Unterrichtsstunden zum Thema "Söldnertum" vorzubereiten, aber auch zur Arbeit mit Bildquellen anregen, die in der Schule oftmals recht stiefmütterlich behandelt werden. Zu diesem Zweck wird in aller Kürze in die Entstehung des Soldkriegswesens als Form staatlich organisierter Gewaltsamkeit eingeführt. Ausgehend von der Spätantike werden die militärischen, wirtschaftlichen und demographischen Faktoren, die zur "Renaissance des Fußvolkes" geführt haben, beschrieben, und auf entsprechende Fachpublikationen verwiesen. Organisation, Struktur und Rechtsformen der Söldnerheere werden vorgestellt und immer anhand von Bildquellen des 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts verdeutlicht. Der zweite Teil dieses Materials besteht aus einer Einführung in die Historische Bildkunde, so dass die Schüler den Umgang mit dieser Quellengattung zügig erlernen können. Um die komplexe Symbolik der Bildmaterialien der Frühen Neuzeit entschlüsseln zu können, wurde als Hilfe für Lehrer und Schüler ein Symbolschlüssel angefertigt. Die Quellen liegen in digitaler Form, in zwei Ausführungen (einer mit Markierungen der wichtigsten Symbole für den Lehrer, einer ohne diese Markierungen als Arbeitsmaterial für die Schüler) der Arbeit bei. Das Material ist modular aufgebaut, so dass man bei Bedarf nur einen Aspekt des Soldkriegswesens (beispielsweise das Trossvolk oder die Verrechtlichung innerhalb der Söldnerheere) von den Schülern bearbeiten lassen kann. Abschließend werden Vorschläge für Tafelbilder und Übersichten, sowie für Aufgabenstellungen, die sich sowohl zur Einzel- als auch zur Gruppen- oder Projektarbeit eignen, unterbreitet.

L'etude hydrogeomorphologique du haut-sebou perlet de degager un certain nombres d'indications : -sur le plan geomorphologique, la cuvette de skoura a connu une evolution morphogenetique tout a fait remarcable. Au miocene, elle a piege des sedients friables (marnes et gres) et au cours du quaternaire, elle a ete modelee en une serie de glacis-terrasses etages. Quant aux formes karstiques, leur presence est plus discrete puisqu'on rencontre que les formes superficielles (lapie, vasque de dissolution, depression nivo-karstiques et polje). Toutes ces formes karstiques temoignent d'une longue evolution crypto-karstique. -sur le plan hydrologique, l'o. Sebou a ain timadrine a un regime mediterraneen de type plivio-nival influence par le karst. Trois facies chimiques ont ete deceles : bicarbonate- calcique, bicarbonate-magnesien et bicarbonate chlorure-sodique. L'homothermie des eaux des sources et la constance de leurs elements chimiques montrent l'importance des reserves de l'aquifere de lias du moyen atlas qui se classe parmi les systemes karstiques complexes.

Neste trabalho, se pretende caracterizar a morfologia de filmes finos poliméricos por meio de técnicas de processamento de imagens, utilizando principalmente a geometria computacional e técnicas de classificação de padrões. Os objetivos principais foram quantificar as grandezas geométricas das estruturas observadas nos filmes finos e descrever padrões de superfície formados nestes filmes. Foram estudadas imagens obtidas por microscopia de força atômica (AFM) de amostras de filmes finos SEBS [poliestireno-poli(etileno-co-butileno)-poliestireno], depositados sobre um substrato de mica por técnicas de imersão. Os filmes finos SEBS são considerados de grande interesse devido à formação de estruturas auto-organizadas na escala nanométrica. A caracterização e a obtenção da morfometria dos filmes são de relevância neste trabalho, pois contribuem para o entendimento da dinâmica de formação destes padrões nas nanoestruturas estudadas. Foram analisadas diferentes morfologias, como forma de gotículas com anéis concêntricos e forma de tiras e pontos regularmente espaçados. Os resultados obtidos permitem caracterizar os padrões observados. In this work, we intend to characterize the morphology of polymer thin films by techniques of image processing, mainly using computational geometry and pattern classification. The main objectives were to quantify the geometrical structures observed in thin films and describe surface patterns formed in these films. Were studied images obtained by atomic force microscopy (AFM) of SEBS [polystyrene-poly(ethylene-co-butylene)-polystyrene] thin films samples, deposited on a mica substrate by dip-coating technique . SEBS thin film polymers have great interest due to the formation of self-organized structures on the nanometer scale. The characterization and obtaining measurements of the morphology of the thin films are of relevance in this work, because they contribute to the understanding of the formation dynamics of these patterns in nanostructures studied. We analyzed different morphologies, such as droplets form with concentric rings and stripe and regularly spaced points forms. The results allow to characterize the observed patterns.

L'utilisation croissante des élastomères thermoplastiques (TPE) dans le secteur automobile nécessite une amélioration de leur tenue en température jusqu'à 160'C. Nous avons ainsi cherché à modifier les propriétés thermomécaniques d'un TPE commercial de type SEBS en y ajoutant du poly(phénylène oxyde), PPO, polymère commercial de haute Tg (210'C) compatible avec le PS. En rhéométrie dynamique, le comportement en température de mélanges modèles d'un copolymère dibloc styrène-butadiène (SB) contenant des quantités croissantes de PPO révèle une incorporation du PPO dans la phase PS et une augmentation de la Tg de la phase rigide. L'étude de formulations à base de SEBS/PPO montre également que le PPO s'incorpore dans la phase PS. Par contre, quand la teneur en PPO augmente, une relaxation apparaît à des températures inférieures à la Tg de la phase rigide. Ceci a été interprété par un écart croissant à l'équilibre thermodynamique de la structure dû au mélangeage en extrudeuse bi-vis. Nous avons conclu à l'existence d'interphases dans lesquelles la mobilité des segments des espèces rigides est accrue par la présence des segments élastomères plus mobiles. Nous avons montré que ces interphases peuvent être contrôlées par la formulation. En rhéométrie optique, l'évolution de l'anisotropie induite par un cisaillement dynamique en fonction de la température a permis de suivre les mécanismes de déformation à l'échelle moléculaire. A T < Tg des domaines rigides, la réponse optique est associée à la déformation élastique des chaînes EB (contribution intrinsèque) ainsi qu'à la rotation des domaines rigides (contribution de forme). Au delà, la déformation des domaines rigides se traduit par une biréfringence de forme qui devient prépondérante. Ces expériences confmnent les notions d'interphases et de morphologies décrites dans les parties précédentes. En précisant les rôles des divers ingrédients, ces études permettent d'obtenir une formulation adaptée au cahier des charges.

Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico The Euglossini bees has a wide distribution in the Neotropical region, occurring in different types of vegetation formation. The Cerrado biome is composed of different physiognomies, such as savanna and forest. Among Cerrado humid forest physiognomies, we can mention the seasonal semideciduous forest (SSF) and gallery forest (GF), which present different flora and microclimatic conditions. Recent studies in SSF of Cerrado showed the occurrence of a low abundance of individuals compared with surveys in SSF in the Atlantic Forest biome, despite a similar richness. The overall objective was (i) to estimate the diversity of bees and population size of the most frequent species of Euglossini in SSF fragments of Cerrado; (ii) to assess the genetic diversity of Euglossa pleosticta; and (iii) to evaluate the influence of vegetation types (SSF/GF) and seasonality on Euglossini community. For population and genetic analyzes, samplings was carried out between October 2012 and April 2013 in five fragments of SSF in five consecutive days, using seven aromatic baits.The marking of individuals was performed by removing the pre-tarsus and one of tarsomeres (PTT) according to the day of collection. The PTT was used for subsequent genetic analysis of Euglossa pleostica using heterologous molecular markers. In order to study the influence of phytophysiognomies and season in the bee community, monthly samplings from October 2012 to September 2013 were performed in another fragment of SSF and one of MG. A total of 256 males of euglossine, distributed in 12 species were captured and marked. We estimated a population size of Euglossa imperialis in one of the fragments (1222 ± 162.6 individuals) and in another fragment Euglossa cordata (44 ± 9.4). Using the concept of ecological guild (orchid bees), it was possible to estimate the populations of those three fragments which were: 3772 ± 436.2, 376 ± 62.3 to 1424 ± 242.2 individuals. For Eg. pleosticta three loci presented an allele with a dominant frequency over others in the same loco. The estimated gene flow indicated a higher percentage of non-migrant individuals in both populations. In the experiment about influence of phytophysignomies on the euglossini bee communities, it was not observed difference in species diversity between fragments, but there was an interaction between phytophysignomies and season, with the FES presenting the highest abundance in the wet season. We conclude that euglossini bees have small populations in the sampled fragments,there is a limited gene flow among populations Eg. pleosticta and that species diversity is similar in the different phytophysignomies, despite the significant interaction between vegetation type and season on the bees abundance. A tribo Euglossini possui ampla distribuição nos neotrópicos, com ocorrência reconhecida para diferentes tipos de formações vegetais. O bioma Cerrado é formado por diferentes fitofisionomias, tanto savânicas quanto florestais. Dentre as fitofisionomias florestais mais úmidas do Cerrado, podemos citar a Floresta Estacional Semidecidual (FES) e a Mata de Galeria (MG), as quais apresentam flora e condições microclimáticas diferentes. Estudos mais recentes nas FES do Cerrado têm evidenciado a ocorrência de uma baixa abundância de indivíduos, quando comparadas com as FES inseridas no bioma da Mata Atlântica, apesar das semelhanças quanto a riqueza. Os objetivos gerais do trabalho foram: (i) estimar a diversidade de abelhas e tamanho populacional das espécies mais frequentes de Euglossini em fragmentos de FES do Cerrado; (ii) avaliar a diversidade genética de Euglossa pleosticta; e (iii) verificar a influência de fitofisionomias (FES/MG) e estação do ano na comunidade de abelhas Euglossini. Para as análises populacionais e genéticas, as coletas foram realizadas entre outubro/2012 e abril/2013 em cinco fragmentos de FES durante cinco dias consecutivos, utilizando-se sete iscas aromáticas.A marcação dos indivíduos foi realizada com a remoção do pré-tarso e um dos tarsômeros (PTT), de acordo com o dia de coleta, sendo que o PTT foi utilizado para as análises genéticas de Eg. pleostica, por meio de marcadores moleculares heterólogos. Para estudo da influência da fitofisionomia e estação do ano nas comunidades, coletas mensais foram realizadas entre outubro/2012 e setembro/ 2013 em outro fragmento de FES e um de MG. Foi capturado e marcado um total de 256 machos de Euglossini, distribuídos em 12 espécies. Foi estimado o tamanho populacional de Euglossa imperialis em um dos fragmentos (1222 ± 162,6 indivíduos) e Euglossa cordata em outro (44 ± 9,4). Utilizando o conceito ecológico de guilda (abelhas das orquídeas), foi possível estimar as populações de três fragmentos sendo estas: 3772 ± 436,2, 376 ± 62,3 e 1424 ± 242,2 indivíduos. Para Eg. pleosticta, três locos apresentaram um alelo com uma freqüência dominante sobre os outros do mesmo loco. O fluxo gênico estimado indicou uma maior porcentagem de indivíduos não migrantes para as duas populações. No experimento sobre influência das fitofisionomias nas comunidades, não foi verificado diferença na diversidade de espécies entre os fragmentos, mas houve interação entre as fitofisionomia e estação do ano, sendo a FES responsável pela maior abundância de indivíduos na estação úmida. Conclui-se que as abelhas apresentam pequenas populações nos fragmentos amostrados, que existe um fluxo gênico limitado entre as populações de Eg. pleosticta e que a diversidade de espécies é semelhante nas diferentes fitofisionomias, apesar da interação significativa entre fitofisionomia/estação do ano sobre a abundância das abelhas. Abstract:

The extension of the CJS model to include individual, continuous, time-varying covariates relies on the estimation of covariate values on occasions on which individuals were not captured. Fitting this model in a Bayesian framework typically involves the implementation of a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) algorithm, such as a Gibbs sampler, to sample from the posterior distribution. For large data sets with many missing covariate values that must be estimated, this creates a computational issue, as each iteration of the MCMC algorithm requires sampling from the full conditional distributions of each missing covariate value. This dissertation examines two solutions to address this problem. First, I explore variational Bayesian algorithms, which derive inference from an approximation to the posterior distribution that can be fit quickly in many complex problems. Second, I consider an alternative approximation to the posterior distribution derived by truncating the individual capture histories in order to reduce the number of missing covariates that must be updated during the MCMC sampling algorithm. In both cases, the increased computational efficiency comes at the cost of producing approximate inferences. The variational Bayesian algorithms generally do not estimate the posterior variance very accurately and do not directly address the issues with estimating many missing covariate values. Meanwhile, the truncated CJS model provides a more significant improvement in computational efficiency while inflating the posterior variance as a result of discarding some of the data. Both approaches are evaluated via simulation studies and a large mark-recapture data set consisting of cliff swallow weights and capture histories.

CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior Foram realizados dois ensaios para determinar a composiÃÃo quÃmica e a energia metabolizÃvel do sebo bovino e para avaliar este ingrediente como fonte lipÃdica alternativa em raÃÃes para suÃnos nas fases de crescimento e terminaÃÃo com ou sem a adiÃÃo de emulsificante, sobre o desempenho, digestibilidade dos nutrientes das raÃÃes, triacilglicerÃis sÃricos, caracterÃsticas de carcaÃa e avaliaÃÃo econÃmica. Para o ensaio de metabolismo foram utilizados 15 suÃnos machos castrados de peso inicial de 22,03Â0,62 kg que foram distribuÃdos em delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, pelo mÃtodo de coleta total de fezes e urina. Os tratamentos foram: RR â raÃÃo referÃncia, formulada a base de milho e farelo de soja; RT1 â raÃÃo teste composta por 95% da raÃÃo referÃncia e 5% de sebo bovino e RT2 â raÃÃo teste composta de 90% de raÃÃo referÃncia e 10% de sebo bovino. O sebo bovino apresentou 99,94% de matÃria seca e 7130,97 kcal de energia metabolizÃvel (EM)/kg. Para o ensaio de desempenho foram utilizados 30 suÃnos machos castrados com peso inicial de 24,85Â1,18 kg, distribuÃdos no delineamento em blocos ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos e seis repetiÃÃes de um animal. Os tratamentos diferiram quanto Ã fonte lipÃdica incluÃda, nÃvel de EM e adiÃÃo do emulsificante, sendo: T1 â dieta com inclusÃo de Ãleo de soja e 3230 kcal de EM/kg; T2 â dieta com inclusÃo de sebo bovino e 3230 kcal de EM/kg; T3 â dieta com inclusÃo de sebo bovino e 3080 kcal de EM/kg; T4 â dieta com inclusÃo de sebo bovino, 3080 kcal de EM/kg e adiÃÃo de 0,1% emulsificante; T5 â dieta com inclusÃo de sebo bovino, 2930 kcal de EM/kg e adiÃÃo de 0,1% de emulsificante. NÃo houve efeito dos tratamentos sobre as variÃveis de consumo de raÃÃo e ganho diÃrio de peso em todas as fases avaliadas. Entretanto, observou-se que houve diferenÃa significativa para a conversÃo alimentar no crescimento II e na terminaÃÃo, onde os animais alimentados com a raÃÃo contendo sebo bovino e reduÃÃo na energia para 3080 kcal/kg (T3) e para 2930 kcal/kg com adiÃÃo de emulsificante (T5) apresentaram pior conversÃo alimentar. NÃo houve diferenÃa significativa (P>0,05) para os nÃveis de triacilglicerÃis no sangue e para as caracterÃsticas de carcaÃas (peso, rendimento e comprimento de carcaÃa, quantidade e percentual de carne magra, espessura de toicinho, profundidades de lombo e de gordura, Ãreas do olho de lombo e da gordura e relaÃÃo gordura carne). Dependendo do valor energÃtico, o sebo bovino pode substituir o Ãleo de soja como fonte lipÃdica em raÃÃes para suÃnos nas fases de crescimento e terminaÃÃo. A reduÃÃo em 150 kcal de EM/kg da raÃÃo com uso de sebo bovino pode ser compensada com a adiÃÃo de emulsificante. This study aimed to determine the chemical and metabolizable energy of beef tallow and evaluate this feedstuff as an alternative lipid source in diets for growing and finishing pigs with or without emulsifier addition, on performance, digestibility of the nutrients, serum triacylglycerols, carcass characteristics and economic evaluation. For the metabolism assay a total of 15 barrows were used with an initial weight of 22.03 Â 0.62 kg and distributed in a completely randomized design, using the total of feces and urine method. The treatments were: RR - basal diet, formulated based on corn and soybean meal; RT1 - ration test comprised 95% of basal diet and 5% beef tallow and RT2 - test diet composed of 90% of basal diet and 10% beef tallow. The beef tallow showed 99.94% of dry matter and 7130.97 kcal of metabolizable energy (ME)/kg. To test the performance, a total of 30 barrows with an initial weight of 24.85 Â 1.18 kg were distributed in a randomized block design with five treatments and six repetitions of an animal. The treatments differed in fat source included, level of ME and addition of emulsifier, as much: T1 - diet with soybean oil and 3230 kcal ME/kg; T2 - diet with beef tallow and 3230 kcal ME/kg; T3 - diet with beef tallow and 3080 kcal ME/kg; T4 - diet with beef tallow, 3080 kcal ME/kg and addition of 0.1% of emulsifier; T5 - diet with beef tallow, 2930 kcal ME/kg and addition of 0.1% of emulsifier. It was not observed effects on variables of feed intake and average daily gain in all phases. However, it was observed that there was a significant difference in feed conversion in growing II and finishing phase; animals fed the diet containing beef tallow and reduction in energy to 3080 kcal ME/kg (T3) and 2930 kcal ME/kg with emulsifier (T5) presented worse feed conversion. There was no significant difference (P>0.05) among levels of triglycerides in the blood and carcass characteristics (weight, yield and carcass length, amount and percentage of lean meat, backfat thickness, loin depth and fat depth, loin eye area and fat area and meat/fat ratio). Depending on the energy level, beef tallow can replace soybean oil as a lipid source in diets for pigs during the growing and finishing phases. The reduction of metabolizable energy at 150 kcal/kg with the use of beef tallow can to be compensated with the addition of emulsifier.

No. of bitstreams: 1 2014_dis_kmsantos.pdf: 490581 bytes, checksum: 564e4ee99c250be2753b821f893f9b95 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014 This study aimed to determine the chemical and metabolizable energy of beef tallow and evaluate this feedstuff as an alternative lipid source in diets for growing and finishing pigs with or without emulsifier addition, on performance, digestibility of the nutrients, serum triacylglycerols, carcass characteristics and economic evaluation. For the metabolism assay a total of 15 barrows were used with an initial weight of 22.03 ± 0.62 kg and distributed in a completely randomized design, using the total of feces and urine method. The treatments were: RR - basal diet, formulated based on corn and soybean meal; RT1 - ration test comprised 95% of basal diet and 5% beef tallow and RT2 - test diet composed of 90% of basal diet and 10% beef tallow. The beef tallow showed 99.94% of dry matter and 7130.97 kcal of metabolizable energy (ME)/kg. To test the performance, a total of 30 barrows with an initial weight of 24.85 ± 1.18 kg were distributed in a randomized block design with five treatments and six repetitions of an animal. The treatments differed in fat source included, level of ME and addition of emulsifier, as much: T1 - diet with soybean oil and 3230 kcal ME/kg; T2 - diet with beef tallow and 3230 kcal ME/kg; T3 - diet with beef tallow and 3080 kcal ME/kg; T4 - diet with beef tallow, 3080 kcal ME/kg and addition of 0.1% of emulsifier; T5 - diet with beef tallow, 2930 kcal ME/kg and addition of 0.1% of emulsifier. It was not observed effects on variables of feed intake and average daily gain in all phases. However, it was observed that there was a significant difference in feed conversion in growing II and finishing phase; animals fed the diet containing beef tallow and reduction in energy to 3080 kcal ME/kg (T3) and 2930 kcal ME/kg with emulsifier (T5) presented worse feed conversion. There was no significant difference (P>0.05) among levels of triglycerides in the blood and carcass characteristics (weight, yield and carcass length, amount and percentage of lean meat, backfat thickness, loin depth and fat depth, loin eye area and fat area and meat/fat ratio). Depending on the energy level, beef tallow can replace soybean oil as a lipid source in diets for pigs during the growing and finishing phases. The reduction of metabolizable energy at 150 kcal/kg with the use of beef tallow can to be compensated with the addition of emulsifier. Foram realizados dois ensaios para determinar a composição química e a energia metabolizável do sebo bovino e para avaliar este ingrediente como fonte lipídica alternativa em rações para suínos nas fases de crescimento e terminação com ou sem a adição de emulsificante, sobre o desempenho, digestibilidade dos nutrientes das rações, triacilgliceróis séricos, características de carcaça e avaliação econômica. Para o ensaio de metabolismo foram utilizados 15 suínos machos castrados de peso inicial de 22,03±0,62 kg que foram distribuídos em delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, pelo método de coleta total de fezes e urina. Os tratamentos foram: RR – ração referência, formulada a base de milho e farelo de soja; RT1 – ração teste composta por 95% da ração referência e 5% de sebo bovino e RT2 – ração teste composta de 90% de ração referência e 10% de sebo bovino. O sebo bovino apresentou 99,94% de matéria seca e 7130,97 kcal de energia metabolizável (EM)/kg. Para o ensaio de desempenho foram utilizados 30 suínos machos castrados com peso inicial de 24,85±1,18 kg, distribuídos no delineamento em blocos ao acaso, com cinco tratamentos e seis repetições de um animal. Os tratamentos diferiram quanto à fonte lipídica incluída, nível de EM e adição do emulsificante, sendo: T1 – dieta com inclusão de óleo de soja e 3230 kcal de EM/kg; T2 – dieta com inclusão de sebo bovino e 3230 kcal de EM/kg; T3 – dieta com inclusão de sebo bovino e 3080 kcal de EM/kg; T4 – dieta com inclusão de sebo bovino, 3080 kcal de EM/kg e adição de 0,1% emulsificante; T5 – dieta com inclusão de sebo bovino, 2930 kcal de EM/kg e adição de 0,1% de emulsificante. Não houve efeito dos tratamentos sobre as variáveis de consumo de ração e ganho diário de peso em todas as fases avaliadas. Entretanto, observou-se que houve diferença significativa para a conversão alimentar no crescimento II e na terminação, onde os animais alimentados com a ração contendo sebo bovino e redução na energia para 3080 kcal/kg (T3) e para 2930 kcal/kg com adição de emulsificante (T5) apresentaram pior conversão alimentar. Não houve diferença significativa (P>0,05) para os níveis de triacilgliceróis no sangue e para as características de carcaças (peso, rendimento e comprimento de carcaça, quantidade e percentual de carne magra, espessura de toicinho, profundidades de lombo e de gordura, áreas do olho de lombo e da gordura e relação gordura carne). Dependendo do valor energético, o sebo bovino pode substituir o óleo de soja como fonte lipídica em rações para suínos nas fases de crescimento e terminação. A redução em 150 kcal de EM/kg da ração com uso de sebo bovino pode ser compensada com a adição de emulsificante.
