Abstract:
An experiment was executed during Kharif 2021 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Lam, Guntur in randomized block design (RBD) in two replications for estimation of combining ability of the parents and gene effects and also the extent of heterosis using line × tester fashion design. Statistical data were collected on the biometrical observations viz., days to 50% flowering, plant height (cm), number of monopodia/ plant, number of sympodia/plant, number of bolls per plant, boll weight (g), seed index (g), lint index (g), Ginning Out Turn (GOT %), seed cotton yield (kg/ha) and lint yield (kg/ha). The lines GISV298 and SCS1207; the testers, Lam GPC 501 and Lam GPC 355 exhibited positive General Combining Ability (GCA) effects for the traits Ginning Out Turn (GOT%), Seed Cotton Yield (SCY) and Lint Yield (LY) signifying that these were good general combiners. The cross combinations viz., TCH1837/GP117, GISV298/GP274, and SCS1207 / GP117 expressed significant specific combining ability (SCA) effects for Seed Cotton Yield (SCY) and Lint Yield (LY). The cross combination, SCS1207/ Lam GPC 355 was identified as the best hybrid combination with high GCA and SCA for important traits like GOT, seed cotton yield, and lint yield coupled with significant positive heterosis which can be further tested in multi-location testing at the station and all India level.

Abstract:
O potássio (K) estimula o aproveitamento do nitrogênio (N) pelas plantas possibilitando que as produtividades sejam maiores. Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar o efeito da aplicação de N e K sobre o crescimento, produção de grãos e assimilação do N e K de genótipos de tipos especiais de arroz irrigado. O experimento foi realizado em casa de vegetação, em vasos com 9 kg de amostras da camada de 0-0,2m de um Gleissolo Háplico. Nos dois genótipos de tipos especiais de arroz (SCS119 Rubi, de pericarpo vermelho e SCS120 Ônix, de pericarpo preto) foram testadas: omissão individual e completa (0%) de N e K e aplicação combinada destes nutrientes, em esquema fatorial 2x2. As quatro combinações de N e K, em mg dm-3 foram: 0-0; 0-60; 180-0; 180-60. O N e o K foram fornecidos como ureia e cloreto de potássio, respectivamente. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos ao acaso, com 3 repetições. A adição de K à adubação nitrogenada para o SCS119 Rubi foi fundamental para maximizar o perfilhamento, o crescimento da parte aérea na fase vegetativa do arroz e a produção de grãos. Alta dose de N com a omissão da aplicação de K ocasionou desiquilíbrio nutricional das plantas evidenciado pelas altas concentrações de N no tecido vegetal. Os genótipos de arroz diferiram quanto ao aproveitamento do N e K para o perfilhamento e crescimento sendo considerado responsivo o SCS119 Rubi e não responsivo o SCS120 Ônix.

Abstract:
The article presents an extended computer model of a HTS (high temperature superconducting) 21 MVA 70/10.5 kV transformer with severalfold compound windings, based on a verified PSpice model of 10 kVA transformer with single windings. Two superconducting tapes: SCS12050 (with a copper stabiliser layer) and SF12050 (without a stabiliser) were used in the windings. The circuit model of the transformer developed in the PSpice environment considers Rhyner’s power law and the Jiles–Atherton description of the magnetic hysteresis loop. Two types of transient states were analysed: switching on a superconducting transformer to the network and an emergency short-circuit of the secondary winding. For the first five unidirectional current pulses generated when connecting an unloaded transformer to the network, the values of the pulse duration (γ angle), the temperature increase in the primary winding as well as the mean and effective values of the switch-on current were calculated. The waveforms of currents, voltages, changes in resistance and temperature during the operation short-circuit were compared for the windings with both types of HTS 2G (high temperature superconductor second generation) tapes. The conducted analysis allowed us to determine the influence of electrical and thermal parameters of the tapes in question on the effective limitation of current in transient states and the possibility of their use in the construction of superconducting transformer windings.

Abstract:
Although widely consumed as white rice, there are special rice cultivars that contain aromas, colors and nutrients that reach special market niches, and constitute alternatives to vary the Brazilian menu and the farmer’s income. Most genotypes of special rice have nutritional characteristics superior to those of white rice, with call for better health, which is a growing concern of the general population. Based Based on these assumptions, the objective was to evaluate the productivity of special rice genotypes in rainfed cultivation conditions, in two seasons (2016/2017 and 2017/2018), in the city of Lavras/MG The treatments consisted of the following accessions: YIN LU 31, Japanese, CMG 1164, Formoso, Aromatic, IAC 400, IAC 300, IAC 600, IAC 500, BRSMG Relâmpago, BRSMG Caçula, BRSMG Caravera, SCS119 Ruby, SCS120 Onyx. After analysis of variance, the adaptability analysis and stability was performed by the Annichiaric method. The Aromatic and IAC 300 genotypes, by evaluated under rainfed conditions, showed high productivity (greater than 3,000 kg.ha-1), higher than the state average (867 kg ha-1), and low incidence of diseases in the conditions of high lands. These special rice genotypes grown in upland and compared to cultivars of rice indicated for this cultivation condition demonstrated that it is possible to produce rice from quality and develop genotypes more adaptable to rainfed conditions, which can be excellent option of cultivation to conventional rice and thus increase the diversity of the agricultural property.
