India being one of the growing countries still uses manual screen-printing methods which involves using bare hands to spread the ink across and film and aligning the film with the print surface along with loading and unloading of material. This process is very time consuming and results in a decline in production rate. Automating these movements of the process help in enhancing quality of the print and an increase in the production rates and process time which in turn reduces labour cost.

Abstract:
Abstract The development of complex methods in molecular biology is a laborious, costly, iterative and often intuition-bound process where optima are sought in a multidimensional parameter space through step-by-step optimizations. The difficulty of miniaturizing reactions under the microliter volumes usually handled in multiwell plates by robots, plus the cost of the experiments, limit the number of parameters and the dynamic ranges that can be explored. Nevertheless, because of non-linearities of the response of biochemical systems to their reagent concentrations, broad dynamic ranges are necessary. Here we use a high-performance nanoliter handling platform and computer generation of liquid transfer programs to explore in quadruplicates 648 combinations of 4 parameters of a biochemical reaction, the reverse-transcription, which lead us to uncover non-linear responses, parameter interactions and novel mechanistic insights. With the increased availability of computer-driven laboratory platforms for biotechnology, our results demonstrate the feasibility and advantage of methods development based on reproducible, computer-aided exhaustive characterization of biochemical systems.

Abstract:
Articulatory vibrating screen is composed of multi-section screen with articulatory vibrating. The principle of even-thickness screening is referenced on its layout, with linear vibrating screen as the discharge end, with round vibrating screens as the feeding end, and also the intermediate screen. In accordance with the structural features of articulatory vibrating screen and under the condition of assembly module in Pro/E, mechanical components of articulatory vibrating screen are assembled in the light of the arrangement, the sequence, the restrictions and the modifications of installation. With the visualized research on the operational process, the three-dimensional illustrations of assembly model are established to ensure the correct design on every mechanical component of articulatory vibrating screen. The finite element model of vibrating screen is set up by its analysis software to carry out the analysis of finite element calculation and modal according to two operating modes of the regular work and the machine halt beyond resonance region. The analysis result indicates that the intensity and the rigidity of the vibrating screen are safe; the machine operation is stable; and no resonance phenomenon would happen. This study provides the theoretical reference for the design of similar machinery. It is of practical importance and economic value to apply the visualized design method into the design of articulatory vibrating screen.

Abstract:
Purpose Reconfigurable vibrating screen (RVS) is an innovative beneficiation machine designed at Tshwane University of Technology, Republic of South Africa (RSA); with adjustable screen structure to ensure sorting, sizing and screening of varying mineral particles (sizes and quantities) demanded by the customers in a cost-effective manner through the screen structure geometric transformation. In order to ensure that this machine is optimally maintained and managed when utilized in surface and underground mining industries, there is a need to establish or ascertain the best maintenance practices that would be used in optimally managing the RVS machine using decision making techniques. In view of this, the purpose of this paper is to ascertain the best maintenance practices that would be used to optimally maintain and manage the RVS machine when used in surface and underground mines. Design/methodology/approach Decision making techniques such as weighted decision matrix (WDM) and analytical hierarchy process (AHP) were used in this research work to establish the best maintenance practice for optimally maintaining and managing the RVS machine using relevant literature survey on maintenance management systems as well as the different maintenance criteria decision indices obtained from different conventional vibrating screen machine manufacturers and maintenance experts. Findings Based on the results obtained from the WDM analysis, it was anticipated that e-maintenance (e-M) system embedded with diagnosing and prognosing algorithms; with a cumulative weight score of 2.37 is the best maintenance practice for managing the RVS machine when used in surface mines, while AHP with deeper decision making analysis anticipated that the robotic-driven maintenance (RM) system with an important decision criteria; safety, and a cumulative hierarchy score of 28.6 percent, supported by e-M management system with a cumulative hierarchy score of 17.6 percent are the best maintenance mix that could be used in optimally maintaining and managing the RVS machine, when used in a craggy and hazardous underground mining environment. Practical implications To this effect, it could be anticipated that e-M management system (endowed with the ability to detect fault on the machine, diagnose and prognose the different subsystems of the RVS machine and ascertain the reconfiguration time and process of the RVS machine in recovering production loss during the maintenance of the machine as well as meeting customers demand, etc.) is the best maintenance practice for optimally maintaining the RVS machine when utilized in surface mines while both e-M management system and RM management system (endowed with the ability to carry out automated maintenance tasks achievement under little or no maintenance manager intervention) are also anticipated as the best customized maintenance practices mix that could be used in optimally maintaining the RVS machine, when used in dangerous and hazardous underground mining environment. Originality/value This maintenance management system evaluation and selection for optimal RVS machine functionality will serve as a useful information to different mining machines (and other related machines) maintenance managers, in selecting the best maintenance management system for ensuring optimal functionality, reliability and maintainability of machines used in their industries.

Abstract:
Imaging-based high-content screens often rely on single cell-based evaluation of phenotypes in large data sets of microscopic images. Traditionally, these screens are analyzed by extracting a few image-related parameters and use their ratios (linear single or multiparametric separation) to classify the cells into various phenotypic classes. In this study, the authors show how machine learning–based classification of individual cells outperforms those classical ratio-based techniques. Using fluorescent intensity and morphological and texture features, they evaluated how the performance of data analysis increases with increasing feature numbers. Their findings are based on a case study involving an siRNA screen monitoring nucleoplasmic and nucleolar accumulation of a fluorescently tagged reporter protein. For the analysis, they developed a complete analysis workflow incorporating image segmentation, feature extraction, cell classification, hit detection, and visualization of the results. For the classification task, the authors have established a new graphical framework, the Advanced Cell Classifier, which provides a very accurate high-content screen analysis with minimal user interaction, offering access to a variety of advanced machine learning methods.

Abstract:
The aim of the study is to reduce metal losses of structural elements of agricultural machines caused by atmospheric corrosion. The presents the theoretical justification and practical implementation of method of storing agricultural machinery in an open area under an active thermal cover. The object of research is the experimental design of an active heat-reflecting screen equipped with heating elements that provide an infrared radiation flux in the mid-wave range of the spectrum with a wavelength of λ = 5-20 μm. A design feature of the heat-reflecting screen is the location of heating elements relative to the agricultural machine in it. The protective effect is achieved due to the fact that when the probability of dew drops increases, the elements heating the internal surface of the heat-reflecting screen and the surface of the machine are automatically switched on, while the air, which is an optically transparent medium, does not heat up, which creates conditions excluding dew. During the tests, it was found that the use of an active heat-reflecting screen allows to ensure reliable safety of the protected machine. The possibility of local heating of the inner surface of the heat-reflecting screen and the surface of the machine without heating the entire volume of air space inside the storehouse can reduce the cost of electric energy. There is no need to preheat the airspace inside the store due to the fact that the thermal effect from the heating elements is observed immediately after being switched on.

Abstract:
Seed processing machines remove viable seeds from non-viable seeds and inert materials based on physical characteristics. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of each processing machine alone on the physical and physiological qualities of the soybean seeds. Seed samples of two soybean cultivars - BMX Potência RR and NK 7059 RR - were collected from five machines separately: air-screen machine, spiral separator, size grader and gravity separator. The experimental design was a completely randomized factorial, varying with the equipment, with 20 replications. Samples were assessed by germination test, accelerated aging, viability and vigor by tetrazolium test (TZ), weathering damages (TZ class 3), mechanical damages (TZ 1-8) and (TZ 6-8), stink bug damages (TZ 1-8) and weight of one thousand seeds. The air-screen machine and the spiral separator did not contribute to improve physiological quality of seeds; the size grader concentrated mechanical damages in larger sizes and stink bug damages in smaller sizes. Gravity separators showed higher quality seeds at the upper part of the machine compared to intermediate and lower parts. Mechanical damages and stink bug damages can be reduced by gravity separator and weathering damages are not eliminated by any of the machines.

Abstract:
Abstract Belt screens currently used in the peanut industry separate farmer stock peanut materials into two size categories based on diameter. Utilizing belt screens for obtaining more than two size categories requires two or more screens with different spacings between belts for each screen. A modification of the belt screen design was developed incorporating three screen decks into a single machine. The three decks provide the ability to separate small foreign materials, large vegetative foreign materials, and loose shelled kernels and small pods from farmer stock peanuts. The machine was equipped with fixed spacings appropriate for screening farmer stock peanuts (cv. Florunner) for performance testing. Round belts (1.27 cm dia.) for the three decks were spaced on sheaves to provide 0.64-, 1.03-, and 2.54-cm openings between belts. Screen capacity and separation performance were evaluated by varying material feed rates and belt speeds. Belt speeds evaluated were 105.2, 117.3, 130.0, 140.7, and 152.4 cm/sec and feed rates varying from 5170 to 27,210 kg/hr. An average of 91.55% of the sample weights was divided into the 10.3-mm < diam. < 25.4-mm separation. Compared to prescreening sample composition, the average LSK percentage was reduced by 6.39% and FM by 7.36% in the 10.3-mm < diam. < 25.4-mm separation. Within the ranges tested, derived equations indicated that feed rate and belt speed had limited effects on separations. The openings between the belts appeared to influence material separation more than feed rate and belt speed.

Abstract:
There has been an increase in the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) for the analysis of image-based cellular screens. The accuracy of these analyses, however, is greatly dependent on the quality of the training sets used for building the machine learning models. We propose that unsupervised exploratory methods should first be applied to the data set to gain a better insight into the quality of the data. This improves the selection and labeling of data for creating training sets before the application of machine learning. We demonstrate this using a high-content genome-wide small interfering RNA screen. We perform an unsupervised exploratory data analysis to facilitate the identification of four robust phenotypes, which we subsequently use as a training set for building a high-quality random forest machine learning model to differentiate four phenotypes with an accuracy of 91.1% and a kappa of 0.85. Our approach enhanced our ability to extract new knowledge from the screen when compared with the use of unsupervised methods alone.

In the software industry, where the quality of the output is based on human performance, fatigue can be a reason for performance degradation. Fatigue not only degrades quality, but is also a health risk factor. Sleep disorders, depression, and stress are all results of fatigue which can contribute to fatal problems. This article presents a comparative study of different techniques which can be used for detecting fatigue of programmers and data miners who spent lots of time in front of a computer screen. Machine learning can used for worker fatigue detection also, but there are some factors which are specific for software workers. One of such factors is screen illumination. Screen illumination is the light of the computer screen or laptop screen that is casted on the workers face and makes it difficult for the machine learning algorithm to extract the facial features. This article presents a comparative study of the techniques which can be used for general fatigue detection and identifies the best techniques.

Abstract:
Self-driving cars have long been depicted in cinematic narratives, across genres from science fiction films to fantasy films. In some cases, a self-driving car is personified as one of the main characters. This article examines cinematic representations and imaginaries in order to understand the development of the self-driving technology and its integration in contemporary societies, drawing on examples such as The Love Bug, Knight Rider, Minority Report and I, Robot. Conceptually and methodologically, the article combines close readings of films with technological concerns and theoretical considerations, in an attempt to grasp the entanglement of cinematographic imaginaries, audiovisual technologies, artificial intelligence and human interactions that characterise the introduction of self-driving cars in contemporary societies. The human–AI machine interaction is considered both on technological and theoretical levels. Issues of automation, agency and disengagement are traced in cinematic representations and tackled, calling into question the concepts of socio-technical assemblage.

Abstract:
Due to the high sensitivity and fast response, the light-screen array measurement principle is suitable for the dynamic parameter measurement of small and fast targets including projectile. Since the spatial structures of the light-screen array determine the measurement accuracy, internal parameters such as the angles between the light-screens are usually calibrated and then directly used in the field. However, the effect of the measuring state is ignored in the test field. This paper takes the integrated light-screen array sky vertical target as the research object, and two rotation angles are introduced as external parameters to describe the deviation between the calibration state and measuring state of the target, so as to optimize the measurement model. Aiming at the problem that the external parameters cannot be measured directly, an external parameter inversion method of machine learning based on a genetic algorithm is designed under a complex engineering model. The deviation between the projectile hole and the light-screen array measurement coordinates is used to build an inversion database for the genetic algorithm during the machine learning process. The simulation and the live firing test show that the optimization method and parameter identification algorithm in this paper can optimize the measurement model and improve the measurement accuracy of the light-screen array principle directly and can also provide a reference for the optimization and parameter identification in other engineering problems.

Abstract Efficient resource allocation through Virtual machine placement in a cloud datacenter is an ever-growing demand. Different Virtual Machine optimization techniques are constructed for different optimization problems. Particle Swam Optimization (PSO) Algorithm is one of the optimization techniques to solve the multidimensional virtual machine placement problem. In the algorithm being proposed we use the combination of Modified First Fit Decreasing Algorithm (MFFD) with Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm, used to solve the best Virtual Machine packing in active Physical Machines to reduce energy consumption; we first screen all Physical Machines for possible accommodation in each Physical Machine and then the Modified Particle Swam Optimization (MPSO) Algorithm is used to get the best fit solution.. In our paper, we discuss how to improve the efficiency of Particle Swarm Intelligence by adapting the efficient mechanism being proposed. The obtained result shows that the proposed algorithm provides an optimized solution compared to the existing algorithms.

Abstract:
The process of the single particle through screening is researched theoretically with Mogensen screening principle. The screened particles are divided into "particle easy to screen" and "particle difficult to screen" according to the relative size and shape. Systematically analyze the factors that affect the efficiency of cylinder screening machine—the characteristics of materials’ dimension, shape features, the movement of sieve, and sieve surface obliquity, in order to realize the nuts and kinds of nuts to be graded effectively according to the size and shape. PLC intelligent control is adopted into cylinder screening machine, through the real-time detection of the speed of the cylinder at all levels and the chain transfer between the cylinders, to logically estimate the possible faults in the screening process, improving the degree of automation and reliability and safety of the equipment operation.

Abstract:
Linearity is a critical parameter to describe positioning errors of touch screens. This paper focuses on a four-wire resistive-type touch screen sensor and tries to find the main factors affecting its linearity. By using the electric field simulation module of ANSYS software, node voltages of conductive layer were analyzed. The mathematical relations between the linearity and individual factors of touch sensor were established and the main factors affecting linearity were identified. Based on optimized sensor parameters, a set of 2.5 inch four-wire resistive touch screen sensors were manufactured and tested with a linearity testing machine. Experimental results show that simulation results and testing results on linearity satisfy the consistency criterion and the analysis results are reliable.

Abstract:
I am pleased to begin the final issue of the year with a very special announcement. Screen Bodies is modifying its editorial direction and the kind of work it will feature. Many of our readers will already have a sense of these changes, made evident by the new Aims and Scope section we made available online earlier this summer, and by the journal’s new subtitle, The Journal of Embodiment, Media Arts, and Technology. As these indicate, the foundational commitments of the journal remain unchanged; however, moving forward will we intensify our focus on new media art, technology studies, and the interface of the sciences and the humanities. We will continue to examine the cultural, aesthetic, ethical, and political dimensions of emerging technologies, but with a renewed attention to such areas as intermediality, human–machine interface, virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, generative art, smart environments, immersive and interactive installations, machine learning, biotechnology, computer science, digital culture, and digital humanities. The journal will continue to prioritize matters of the body and screen media, both in terms of representation and engagement, but will emphasize research that critically reexamines those very concepts, as, for example, in the case of object-oriented feminism’s nonanthropocentric approach, which asks us to rethink what we mean by bodies and embodiment.

Abstract:
The paper presents the structural characteristics of counter flow screen. Pieces of plastic film and sandstones with different friction factors and elasticity coefficients are chosen as the research objects. The motion state and the sorting mechanism of materials in the sorting process are studied. According to the motion analysis on pieces of plastic film and sandstones on counter flow screen, it can be concluded that the materials with different friction factors and elasticity coefficients can all be sorted by counter flow screen. The more difference they have in friction factors and elasticity coefficients, the better sorting performance can be achieved. The selection and computation on the dynamical parameters of counter flow screen is carried out, which provides the theory evidence for the design of new friction sorting equipment and opens up new prospects for the application of counter flow screen.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the sanitary quality of seeds of Panicum maximum cv. ‘Tanzânia’, following the several phases of the seed processing process. Seeds were sampled before processing and after leaving the air and screen machine (upper and intermediary screens and bottom); first gravity table (drift, upper and intermediate spouts); second gravity table (upper, intermediate, and lower spouts), and treating machine for dyeing the seeds. The sanitary analyses were conducted according to the filter paper method, with and without superficial disinfestation of the seeds, which were incubated at a temperature of 20 ± 2 °C with photoperiod of 12 h for seven days. Some seed processing steps may reduce the incidence of seeds of P. maximum cv. ‘Tanzania’ contaminated with Phoma sp. and Helminthosporium sp. In general, the processing can increase the incidence of seeds contaminated with Cladosporium sp. and Cercospora sp. The fungi Phoma sp., Helminthosporium sp., Penicillium sp., Cladosporium sp. and Cercospora sp. are found inside and outside the seeds and can be disseminated by the processing machines.

Abstract:
The text reviews the Arts and Machine Civilization International Scientific Conference. The conference took place on March 30—April 2, 2021, and was organized by the State Institute for Art Studies, GITR Film and Television School, and the Saint Petersburg State University. SIAS has been hosting conferences on contemporary culture, screen art and television for 17 years. This year, for the first time in the history of such forums, the researchers were tasked with analyzing the new things that machines have brought to the arts and, in general, to human life. The conference took its special place among the forums held over the past year in Russia and abroad in the following areas: artificial intelligence (Artificial Intelligence Journey, Moscow,Russia); machine learning (International Conferenceon Machine Learning, Vienna, Austria; 3rd International Conference on Machine Learning and Machine Intelligence, Hangzhou, China); civilization of knowledge (Civilization of Knowledge: Russian Realities, Moscow, Russia), etc. The novelty of the conference lies in the unification of the seemingly incompatible phenomena: art and machine civilization. As is commonly known, art was traditionally opposed to technology as something alien, sometimes hostile, although the both were born in human mind and created by human hands. Until now, the expression “machine civilization” in art has been used mainly in the genre of fantasy and with an emphasis on its negative connotations. The purpose of the conference was to comprehend the artistic practices in the era of machine civilization, get acquainted with current hypotheses, publish new facts and discuss modern terminologies (law of spontaneity, law of semantic uncertainty, algorithmic apophenia, post-opera, artificial life and new vitality). Along with the study of new challenges, old issues were raised, which became in demand in the machine civilization: originals and copies of artworks, the boundaries of conventionality and overcoming distrust in new media, narratives and poetics in serious and entertaining screen genres. The conference reports were divided into six blocks: Theoretical Models, ScreenArts—Cinema, Fine Arts, Music, PC Games, and Digitalization.
