Abstract:
Background. To estimate the efficiency of special child pre-school institution (SCPI) in prophylaxis of allergic diseases in children. Methods. 84 children with allergies aged between 10 months and 4 years old were observed. Among them 56 attended the SCPI and 28 (comparative group) attended the basic CPI. All children were passing through clinical, allergological, immunological examination as well as physical and mental development observation. Results. In this research the risks of development of allergies were thoroughly analyzed as well as the results of observation and check-ups of children with allergic diseases who attended to specialized SCPI or basic CPI. In the SCPI dietary conditions were kept, the hypo allergic diet was introduced into practice, the food allowance was balanced in protein, fat, carbohydrates and calorie contents due to physiological needs by substitution of foodstuffs. In the basic CPI these conditions weren't provide. In the SCPIs systematic observation of children is established and the cooperation of parents and doctor in charge of the case allows carrying out continuous pathogenetic therapy. Medical and prophylactic measures decrease the number of allergies' exacerbations and allow parents to proceed their usual activities, also improve the life conditions of children and their parents. Conclusion. The effectiveness of improving of health on the basis of SCPI is approximately 84,5% and the same in basic CPI is 66,75%. The research proposes the method of calculation of needs in SCPI and can be used in the organization of SCPI for children with allergic pathologies.

Abstract:
AbstractSaccharomyces cerevisiae Pif1 (ScPif1) is known as an ATP-dependent DNA helicase that plays critical roles in a number of important biological processes such as DNA replication, telomere maintenance and genome stability maintenance. Besides its DNA helicase activity, ScPif1 is also known as a single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) translocase, while how ScPif1 translocates on ssDNA is unclear. Here, by measuring the translocation activity of individual ScPif1 molecules on ssDNA extended by mechanical force, we identified two distinct types of ssDNA translocation. In one type, ScPif1 moves along the ssDNA track with a rate of ∼140 nt/s in 100 μM ATP, whereas in the other type, ScPif1 is immobilized to a fixed location of ssDNA and generates ssDNA loops against force. Between the two, the mobile translocation is the major form at nanomolar ScPif1 concentrations although patrolling becomes more frequent at micromolar concentrations. Together, our results suggest that ScPif1 translocates on extended ssDNA in two distinct modes, primarily in a ‘mobile’ manner.

Abstract:
Plasma membrane intrinsic proteins (PIPs) are a subfamily of aquaporin proteins located on plasma membranes where they facilitate the transport of water and small uncharged solutes. PIPs play an important role throughout plant development, and in response to abiotic stresses. Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis (Link) Schneider), as a typical desert plant, tolerates drought, salinity and nutrient-poor soils. In this study, a PIP1 gene (ScPIP1) was cloned from jojoba and overexpressed in Arabidopsis thaliana. The expression of ScPIP1 at the transcriptional level was induced by polyethylene glycol (PEG) treatment. ScPIP1 overexpressed Arabidopsis plants exhibited higher germination rates, longer roots and higher survival rates compared to the wild-type plants under drought and salt stresses. The results of malonaldehyde (MDA), ion leakage (IL) and proline content measurements indicated that the improved drought and salt tolerance conferred by ScPIP1 was correlated with decreased membrane damage and improved osmotic adjustment. We assume that ScPIP1 may be applied to genetic engineering to improve plant tolerance based on the resistance effect in transgenic Arabidopsis overexpressing ScPIP1.

Abstract:
The Arabidopsis has 51 proteins annotated as serine carboxypeptidase-like (SCPL) enzymes. Although biochemical and cellular characterization indicates SCPLs involved in protein turnover or processing, little is known about their roles in plant metabolism. In this study, we identified an Arabidopsis mutant, bis4 (1-butanol insensitive 4), that was insensitive to the inhibitory effect of 1-butanol on seed germination. We cloned the gene that was defective in bis4 and found that it encoded an SCPL41 protein. Transgenic Arabidopsis plants constitutively expressing SCPL41 were generated, oil body staining and lipidomic assays indicated that SCPL41-overexpressing plants showed a decrease in membrane lipid content, especially digalactosyl diglyceride (DGDG) and monogalactosyl diglyceride (MGDG) contents, while the loss of SCPL41 increased the membrane lipid levels compared with those in wild-type plants. These findings suggested that SCPL41 had acquired novel functions in membrane lipid metabolism.

ScPO4:Eu3+, Tb3+ phosphors with tuned emission color were prepared through high temperature solid-state reaction. The structure, morphology and photoluminescence properties of the title samples were collected by XRD, SEM and fluorescence spectrophotometer, respectively. Co-doping Eu3+ and Tb3+ in ScPO4 does not change the body-centered tetragonal structure of the host. And the morphology remains essentially unchanged except for slight agglomeration. Changing the ratio of Tb3+/Eu3+, the tuned emission can be achieved, the color could be adjusted from green through yellow to orange-red. The ScPO4:0.03Tb3+, 0.03Eu3+ phosphor with high thermal stability as the single matrix phosphor can be suitable for the NUV-pumped white LED. The white LED with a color rendering index of 86.5 and a correlated color temperature of 3470 K has been generated by packaging BAM:Eu2+ with ScPO4:0.03Tb3+, 0.03Eu3+ on an NUV-InGaN chip.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Pif1 is a 5′-to-3′ DNA helicase critical to DNA replication and telomere length maintenance in the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. ScPif1 is a negative regulator of telomeric repeat synthesis by telomerase, and recombinant ScPif1 promotes the dissociation of the telomerase RNA template from telomeric DNA in vitro. In order to dissect the role of mPif1 in mammals, we cloned and disrupted the mPif1 gene. In wild-type animals, mPif1 expression was detected only in embryonic and hematopoietic lineages. mPif1 − / − mice were viable at expected frequencies, displayed no visible abnormalities, and showed no reproducible alteration in telomere length in two different null backgrounds, even after several generations. Spectral karyotyping of mPif1 − / − fibroblasts and splenocytes revealed no significant change in chromosomal rearrangements. Furthermore, induction of apoptosis or DNA damage revealed no differences in cell viability compared to what was found for wild-type fibroblasts and splenocytes. Despite a novel association of mPif1 with telomerase, mPif1 did not affect the elongation activity of telomerase in vitro. Thus, in contrast to what occurs with ScPif1, murine telomere homeostasis or genetic stability does not depend on mPif1, perhaps due to fundamental differences in the regulation of telomerase and/or telomere length between mice and yeast or due to genetic redundancy with other DNA helicases.

Abstract:
Solar cell parameter identification problem (SCPIP) is one of the most studied optimization problems in the field of renewable energy since accurate estimation of model parameters plays an important role to increase their efficiency. The SCPIP is aimed at optimizing the performance of solar cells by estimating the best parameter values of the solar cells that produce an accurate approximation between the current vs. voltage (I−V) measurements. To solve the SCPIP efficiently, this paper introduces an adaptive variant of the electromagnetic field optimization (EFO) algorithm, named adaptive EFO (AEFO). The EFO simulates the attraction-repulsion mechanism between particles of electromagnets having different polarities. The main idea behind the EFO is to guide electromagnetic particles towards global optimum by the attraction-repulsion forces and the golden ratio. Distinct from the EFO, the AEFO searches the solution space with an adaptive search procedure. In the adaptive search strategy, the selection probability of a better solution is increased adaptively whereas the selection probability of worse solutions is reduced throughout the search progress. By employing the adaptive strategy, the AEFO is able to maintain the balance between exploration and exploitation more efficiently. Further, new boundary control and randomization procedures for the candidate electromagnets are presented. To identify the performance of the proposed algorithm, two different benchmark problems are taken into account in the computational studies. First, the AEFO is performed on global optimization benchmark functions and compared to the EFO. The efficiency of the AEFO is identified by statistical significance tests. Then, the AEFO is implemented on a well-known SCPIP benchmark problem set formed as a result of real-life physical experiments based on single- and double-diode models. To validate the performance of the AEFO on the SCPIP, extensive experiments are carried out, where the AEFO is tested against the original EFO, AEFO variants, and novel metaheuristic algorithms. Results of the computational studies reveal that the AEFO exhibits superior performance and outperforms other competitor algorithms.

Abstract:
The two PIF1 family helicases in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Rrm3, and ScPif1, associate with thousands of sites throughout the genome where they perform overlapping and distinct roles in telomere length maintenance, replication through non-histone proteins and G4 structures, lagging strand replication, replication fork convergence, the repair of DNA double-strand break ends, and transposable element mobility. ScPif1 and its fission yeast homolog Pfh1 also localize to mitochondria where they protect mitochondrial genome integrity. In addition to yeast serving as a model system for the rapid functional evaluation of human Pif1 variants, yeast cells lacking Rrm3 have proven useful for elucidating the cellular response to replication fork pausing at endogenous sites. Here, we review the increasingly important cellular functions of the yeast PIF1 helicases in maintaining genome integrity, and highlight recent advances in our understanding of their roles in facilitating fork progression through replisome barriers, their functional interactions with DNA repair, and replication stress response pathways.

Abstract:
The epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a cellular reprogramming process converting epithelial cells into mesenchymal cell morphology. Snail is a critical regulator of EMT by both suppressing epithelial gene expression and promoting mesenchymal gene expression. Expression and activity of Snail are tightly controlled at transcriptional and post-translational levels. It has previously been reported that Snail undergoes phosphorylation and ubiquitin-dependent proteasome degradation. Here, we report nuclear phosphatase SCP4/CTDSPL2 acts as a novel Snail phosphatase. SCP4 physically interacts with and directly dephosphorylates Snail. SCP4-mediated dephosphorylation of Snail suppresses the ubiquitin-dependent proteasome degradation of Snail and consequently enhances TGFβ-induced EMT. The knockdown of SCP4 in MCF10A mammary epithelial cells leads to attenuated cell migration. Collectively, our finding demonstrates that SCP4 plays a critical role in EMT through Snail dephosphorylation and stabilization.

This paper presents the experimental study of Soil-Cement Pile (SCpile) by wet mixing method in sandy soils, with the typical project at An Trung Complex apartment, Da Nang city, Vietnam. With the characteristic of soil layers is sandy soil, the strength of laboratory stabilized soils with the amount of cement from 150¸300 kg/m3 was determined. Simultaneously, the authors also performed the experiments of 20 test piles collected from the site which has cement content about 280 kg/m3 and the unconfined compressive strength qu= (4.5-6.0) MPa. After that, a full-scale model static axial compressive load tests of two single piles and a group of four piles with diameter 800 mm and 12 m length were also conducted. The experiment results show that the bearing capacity of every single pile is 1.200 kN with settlement 6.93 mm and the group of four CSpiles is 3.200 kN with settlement 5.03 mm. The results presented in the paper illustrate that SCpile is the suitable solution for foundation construction process with low cost and saving time for high rise buildings. The result shows a capable application of soil cement piles for support of high-rise buildings.

Abstract:
The iconic phenotype of seadragons includes leaf-like appendages, a toothless tubular mouth, and male pregnancy involving incubation of fertilized eggs on an open “brood patch.” We de novo–sequenced male and female genomes of the common seadragon (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus) and its closely related species, the alligator pipefish (Syngnathoides biaculeatus). Transcription profiles from an evolutionary novelty, the leaf-like appendages, show that a set of genes typically involved in fin development have been co-opted as well as an enrichment of transcripts for potential tissue repair and immune defense genes. The zebrafish mutants for scpp5, which is lost in all syngnathids, were found to lack or have deformed pharyngeal teeth, supporting the hypothesis that the loss of scpp5 has contributed to the loss of teeth in syngnathids. A putative sex–determining locus encoding a male-specific amhr2y gene shared by common seadragon and alligator pipefish was identified.

Abstract:
Countries worldwide have implemented several strategies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to which sustainable construction projects can contribute significantly. However, an integrated assessment and management method for sustainable construction projects is needed to improve the contributions of such projects to achieving the SDGs. Hence, this research aims to develop an innovative framework that integrates contributions to achieving the SDGs within the assessment and management of sustainable construction projects. We reviewed previous research and used the Delphi method to identify assessment indicators and construct a framework. Next, two new indices were constructed: the Sustainable Construction Project Indicator Contributions Index (SCPICI) and the Integrated Sustainable Construction Project Contributions Index (ISCPCI). Lastly, a focus group discussion was conducted. According to the SCPICI, the top five indicators are energy-efficient management (27.58), the use of renewable energy (27.51), measurements of energy savings during the construction and operation phases (26.64), water savings during construction and operation phases (26.18), and water recycling (25.46). The research findings indicate that sustainable construction projects substantially contribute to achieving SDGs 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 15. Policymakers and other stakeholders in the construction sector could use the proposed framework to assess and manage sustainable construction projects. Moreover, researchers worldwide could use the proposed methods to develop new frameworks in other countries.

Abstract:
The technology of submerged carbon powder injection with CO2 and O2 mixed gas (SCPI-COMG) is a new type of powder injection technology. It can increase the molten bath carbon content and improve the molten steel quality by injecting carbon powder directly into the molten steel with CO2 and O2 mixed gas. To optimize the process parameters of this novel technology, the mechanism of this technology and the effect of SCPI-COMG on EAF steelmaking were investigated in this study. Based on an induction furnace experiment, the effects of molten bath carburization and fluid flow on the scrap melting were analyzed. A mathematical model of the axis of gas jets in liquid steel was built to analyze the impact behaviors of gas jets in liquid steel. Based on the results of this theoretical model, for a gas jet in liquid steel, with α ≥ 20°, the horizontal inject distance decreases with α increasing and with 0° ≤ α ≤ 20°, the horizontal inject distance increases with α increasing. Finally, based on the newly built materials and energy balance model of EAF steelmaking with SCPI-COMG, the influences of the gas-solid parameters on the EAF steelmaking technical indexes were also analyzed.is very useful for optimizing the process parameters of EAF steelmaking with SCPI-COMG. Abstract:
Synthetic LaPO4, ScPO4, and crystalline natural zircon (ZrSiO4) from Mud Tanks, Australia were irradiated by 1.5 MeV Kr+ ions until complete amorphization occurred as indicated by the absence of electron-diffraction maxima. The resulting amorphous materials were subsequently irradiated by an 80 to 300 keV electron beam in the transmission electron microscope at temperatures between 130 and 800 K, and the resulting microstructural changes were monitored in situ. Thermal anneals in the range of 500 to 600 K were also conducted to compare the thermally induced microstructural development with that produced by the electron irradiations. Amorphous LaPO4 and ScPO4 annealed to form a randomly oriented polycrystalline assemblage of the same composition as the original material, but zircon recrystallized to ZrO2 (zirconia) + amorphous SiO2 for all beam energies and temperatures investigated. The rate of crystallization increased in the order: zircon, ScPO4, LaPO4. Submicrometer tracks of crystallites having a width equal to that of the electron beam could be “drawn” on the amorphous substrate. In contrast, thermal annealing resulted in epitaxial recrystallization from the thick edges of the TEM samples. Electron-irradiation-induced nucleation and growth in these materials can be explained by a combination of radiation-enhanced diffusion as a result of ionization processes and a strong thermodynamic driving force for crystallization. The structure of the amorphous orthophosphates may be less rigid than that of their silicate analogues because of the lower coordination across the PO4 tetrahedron, and thus a lower energy is required for reorientation and recrystallization. The more highly constrained monazite structure-type recovers at a lower electron dose than the zircon structure-type, consistent with recent models used to predict the crystalline-to-amorphous transition as a result of ion irradiation.

Abstract:
Although several diabetes self-care management tools have been created, very few provide preparation for diabetes self-care behavior management. Three essential components of diabetes self-care management are measured by the assessment tool "Skills, Confidence & Preparedness Index (LMC) (SCPI)": Knowledge of skills, Confidence in one's ability to use skills, and Readiness to put skills into practice. This study aims to validate, translate, and adapt the SCPI for usage with Indonesian adults with type 2 diabetes. Methods: The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Evidence Based Medicine Committee (AAOS) criteria for modifying the scale were adhered to in this study. Evaluate average variance, Cronbach alpha, and composite reliability to test validity and reliability. Specifically, determinant coefficient testing and model appropriateness testing are used to assess goodness of fit. Examine the valid R-squared statistical value for every relationship to determine the test. If the p-value is less than 0.05, then there is a direct and indirect association to be seen if the variable is significant Result: Cronbach's alpha > 0.60 indicates strong internal consistency for the Indonesian SCPI version or I-SCPI. For every variable, the AVE value is larger than 0.50, while the CR value exceeds 0.70. This indicates that all legitimate indicators converge to form the variables for which they are intended. The R-Square values of 0.312 and 0.536 for the variables of preparedness and confidence are used to calculate the degree of good fit. This number indicates that the Preparedness variable is only partially explained by the Confidence and Preparedness variables (5.36%), with other variables accounting for the remaining 94.64%. Furthermore, the Skill/Knowledge, Confidence, and Preparedness factors account for only 3% of the variance in the Confidence variable, with the remaining 97% explained by variables outside the model. Conclusion: We developed an Indonesian version of SCPI through cross-cultural translation and adaption. The I-SCPI is reliable and valid for assessing the level of self-management in type 2 diabetes patients in Indonesia

Abstract:
Underground cable trench inspection robots work in narrow, variable friction coefficient, and complex road environments. The running trajectory easily deviates from the desired path and leads to a collision, or even the destruction of the robot or cable. Addressing this problem, a path-following control method for the dual-tracked chassis robot based on a self-coupling PID (SCPID) control algorithm was developed. The caterpillar robot dynamics were modelled and both the unknown dynamics and external bounded disturbances were defined as sum disturbances, thus mapping the nonlinear system into a linearly disturbed system, then the self-coupling PD (SCPD) controller was designed. The system proved to be a robust stability control system and only one parameter, the velocity factor, needed to be tuned to achieve parameter calibration. Meanwhile, to solve the problem that the error-based speed factor is not universal and to improve the adaptive ability of the SCPD controller, an iterative method was used for adaptive tuning. The simulation results showed that the SCPID can achieve better control. The field test results showed that the SCPD’s maximum offset angle was 56.7% and 10.3% smaller than incremental PID and sliding mode control (SMC), respectively. The inspection time of the SCPD was 20% faster than other methods in the same environment.

Abstract:

Abstract:
sPLA2s (secretory phospholipases A2) belong to a broad and structurally diverse family of enzymes that hydrolyse the sn-2 ester bond of glycerophospholipids. We previously showed that a secreted fungal 15 kDa protein, named p15, as well as its orthologue from Streptomyces coelicolor (named Scp15) induce neurite outgrowth in PC12 cells at nanomolar concentrations. We report here that both p15 and Scp15 are members of a newly identified group of fungal/bacterial sPLA2s. The phospholipid-hydrolysing activity of p15 is absolutely required for neurite outgrowth induction. Mutants with a reduced PLA2 activity exhibited a comparable reduction in neurite-inducing activity, and the ability to induce neurites closely matched the capacity of various p15 forms to promote fatty acid release from live PC12 cells. A structurally divergent member of the sPLA2 family, bee venom sPLA2, also induced neurites in a phospholipase activity-dependent manner, and the same effect was elicited by mouse group V and X sPLA2s, but not by group IB and IIA sPLA2s. Lysophosphatidylcholine, but not other lysophospholipids, nor arachidonic acid, elicited neurite outgrowth in an L-type Ca2+ channel activity-dependent manner. In addition, p15-induced neuritogenesis was unaffected by various inhibitors that block arachidonic acid conversion into bioactive eicosanoids. Altogether, these results delineate a novel, Ca2+- and lysophosphatidylcholine-dependent neurotrophin-like role of sPLA2s in the nervous system.

Abstract:
The speed (time) of the central processing of information (SCPI) by the higher parts of brain and electric activity of the cerebral cortex were studied using the method of electroencephalography (EEG) in humans with the different individual-typological features of the higher nervous activity – functional mobility of the nervous processes (FMNP). The statistically important differences of indices of the complicated sensorimotor reactions of differentiation, SCPI and EEG powers between the groups of examined were established. The persons with the high FMNP level were characterized with the reliably higher CPI speed and power of α-rhythm of the convexital surface of the cerebral cortex, especially right hemisphere and β-rhythm of EEG (р≤0,001) comparing with examined persons with the mean and low FMNP levels. The correlative analysis proved the reliability of the connections between FMNP, SCPI and EEG characteristics. We think that the established EEG-correlates of the central processing of information by the higher parts of brain increase the predictability of analysis of typological features of the higher nervous activity and can be useful in the field of professional orientation and selection and also in psychodiagnostics of neurological disorders.

Abstract:
Abstract The two toothed jaws of cichlid fishes provide textbook examples of convergent evolution. Tooth phenotypes such as enlarged molar-like teeth used to process hard-shelled mollusks have evolved numerous times independently during cichlid diversification. Although the ecological benefit of molar-like teeth to crush prey is known, it is unclear whether the same molecular mechanisms underlie these convergent traits. To identify genes involved in the evolution and development of enlarged cichlid teeth, we performed RNA-seq on the serially homologous-toothed oral and pharyngeal jaws as well as the fourth toothless gill arch of Astatoreochromis alluaudi. We identified 27 genes that are highly upregulated on both tooth-bearing jaws compared with the toothless gill arch. Most of these genes have never been reported to play a role in tooth formation. Two of these genes (unk, rpfA) are not found in other vertebrate genomes but are present in all cichlid genomes. They also cluster genomically with two other highly expressed tooth genes (odam, scpp5) that exhibit conserved expression during vertebrate odontogenesis. Unk and rpfA were confirmed via in situ hybridization to be expressed in developing teeth of Astatotilapia burtoni. We then examined expression of the cluster’s four genes in six evolutionarily independent and phylogenetically disparate cichlid species pairs each with a large- and a small-toothed species. Odam and unk commonly and scpp5 and rpfA always showed higher expression in larger toothed cichlid jaws. Convergent trophic adaptations across cichlid diversity are associated with the repeated developmental deployment of this genomic cluster containing conserved and novel cichlid-specific genes.

Abstract:
Pif1 family helicases have multiple roles in the maintenance of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA in eukaryotes. Saccharomyces cerevisiae Pif1 is involved in replication through barriers to replication, such as G-quadruplexes and protein blocks, and reduces genetic instability at these sites. Another Pif1 family helicase in S. cerevisiae, Rrm3, assists in fork progression through replication fork barriers at the rDNA locus and tRNA genes. ScPif1 (Saccharomyces cerevisiae Pif1) also negatively regulates telomerase, facilitates Okazaki fragment processing, and acts with polymerase δ in break-induced repair. Recent crystal structures of bacterial Pif1 helicases and the helicase domain of human PIF1 combined with several biochemical and biological studies on the activities of Pif1 helicases have increased our understanding of the function of these proteins. This review article focuses on these structures and the mechanism(s) proposed for Pif1's various activities on DNA.

Abstract:
Two alternative particle image velocimetry (PIV) methods have been developed, applying laser light sheet illumination of particle-seeded flows around marine organisms. Successive video images, recorded perpendicular to a light sheet parallel to the main stream, were digitized and processed to map the flow velocity in two-dimensional planes. In particle tracking velocimetry (PTV), displacements of single particles in two subsequent images were determined semi-automatically, resulting in flow diagrams consisting of non-uniformly distributed velocity vectors. Application of grid-cell averaging resulted in flow field diagrams with uniform vector distribution. In sub-image correlation PIV (SCPIV), repetitive convolution filtering of small sub-areas of two subsequent images resulted in automatic determination of cross-correlation peaks, yielding flow field diagrams with regularly spaced velocity vectors. In both PTV and SCPIV, missing values, caused by incomplete particle displacement information in some areas of the images or due to rejection of some erroneous vectors by the vector validation procedure, were interpolated using a two-dimensional spline interpolation technique. The resultant vector flow fields were used to study the spatial distribution of velocity, spatial acceleration, vorticity, strain and shear. These flow fields could also be used to test for flow in the third dimension by studying the divergence, and to detect the presence and location of vortices. The results offer detailed quantitative descriptions of the flow morphology and can be used to assess dissipated energy. The versatile character of the technique makes it applicable to a wide range of fluid mechanical subjects within biological research. So far it has been successfully applied to map the flow around swimming copepods, fish larvae and juvenile fish and the ventilation current of a tube-living shrimp.

Abstract:
This study aims to understand how firms in developing countries can effectively use their Information System (IS) resources to develop valuable e-collaboration capabilities that in turn improve business performance. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted to collect data from 408 Iranian and Malaysian manufacturing firms. Findings revealed that Supply Chain-Wide Process Integration (SCPI) and Collaborative Knowledge Management (CKM) are key IS-enabled capabilities that enhance performance gain of manufacturing firms. The work found that these capabilities serve as catalysts in transforming the value of IS resources controlled by firms into business performance improvement. The results suggest that SCPI, as a determinant of a highly integrated and dynamic supply chain, is an important intermediate organizational capability through which value of IS resources can be materialized. Likewise, the findings imply that CKM across a given supply network, as a valuable intermediate organizational capability, converts the benefits of both technical and human IS resources into performance gain at the corporate level.
