<p class="R-AbstractKeywords">Evolution of secondary school course on Informatics during 1990s is discussed. This evolution gave for secondary school graduates rather high level knowledge of applications usage. On the other hand Informatics became purely pragmatic matter within generally academic nature of secondary school curricula. As the result graduates of secondary schools are not prepared enough for mastering of university’s course in Computer Science. Authors are not aware of serious studies and methods of prevention of such negative habits caused by evolution of Informatics course. In this article one method applied in university’s introduction course of Computer Science is considered. The method provides use of algorithmic system closed to the human mind, and to some extent compensates topics removed from the Informatics course in secondary school.</p>

Abstract:
The article proposes multi-level materials for students of grades 7–8 to master the theme "Character data processing" in the Python programming language. The first level of complexity involves consideration of the minimum theoretical information and basic algorithms for processing character data, including algorithms for texts editing (replacing a character, deleting and inserting a character, searching for an occurrence of a given pattern); the material is aimed at students who master informatics at a basic level. The second (advanced) level of complexity implies not only actual knowledge of the material being studied, including string processing methods, but also the ability to apply it in new situations; the material can be offered to the basic school students who master informatics at an advanced level. The third (high) level of complexity involves the acquaintance of students with the Olympiad tasks; the material is aimed at the most prepared and motivated students. Working with string data, implemented at different levels of complexity, can become both an alternative and a supplement for tasks with a mathematical context, traditionally included in the content of the informatics course of the basic school.

Abstract:
The modern world is filled with a variety of data, and their volume is increasing many times every year. On the one hand, Big Data is data that cannot be processed on one computer, it is difficult to structure it. On the other hand, these are special tools, approaches and data processing methods that are used so that a person can get specific and necessary results for their further effective use. Where does big data come from? From the Internet — data from social networks, blogs, media, forums, sites, the Internet of things. From archives and databases — corporate data, transactional business information. From all sorts of instruments and devices — readings from sensors, meters, recorders, for example, data from the meteorological service and cellular operators. Billions of devices are connected to the Internet today. It is expected that within a few years millions of new devices will be connected to the global network, which will generate several tens of millions of terabytes of data every day. Such figures should interest those young people who are looking for their own way in the field of information technology. It is obvious that in the near future, specialists who know how to work with Big Data will be in demand in the labor market. "Machine learning and Big Data" is one of the competencies of WorldSkills Junior (Future Skills). The article presents the experience of preparing for competitions of this kind without going beyond the school subject "Informatics".

<span>Decision makers in the educational field always seek new technologies and tools, which provide solid, fast answers that can support decision-making process. They need a platform that utilize the students’ academic data and turn them into knowledge to make the right strategic decisions. In this paper, a roadmap for implementing a data driven decision support system (DSS) is presented based on an educational data mart. The independent data mart is implemented on the students’ degrees in 8 subjects in a private school (Al-Iskandaria Primary School in Basrah province, Iraq). The DSS implementation roadmap is started from pre-processing paper-based data source and ended with providing three categories of online analytical processing (OLAP) queries (multidimensional OLAP, desktop OLAP and web OLAP). Key performance indicator (KPI) is implemented as an essential part of educational DSS to measure school performance. The static evaluation method shows that the proposed DSS follows the privacy, security and performance aspects with no errors after inspecting the DSS knowledge base. The evaluation shows that the data driven DSS based on independent data mart with KPI, OLAP is one of the best platforms to support short-to-long term academic decisions.</span>

Abstract:
The paper deals with the design of the intelligent processing of experimental data measured in the remote laboratories, where the measurements are performed by connected clients via the finite-state machine residing at an advanced server. As physical hardware and software is used the Internet School Experimental System (ISES). This platform is intended for educational purposes at schools and universities to provide the suitable measuring environment for students using computers. It is especially suitable for distance students who cannot attend regular courses during their studies of physics, chemistry or electro-engineering. At present, the remote laboratory does not dispose of any data processing technique. This results in excessive demands on storing capacity. The suggested solution solves this drawback by processing and archiving techniques to store measured data after their organizing in predetermined structures and concomitant data volume reduction. The paper is organized in the following manner. In the first section, Introduction, the ISES remote laboratory concept is introduced, following, State of the art, describing present stage of its ISES physical hardware development. The description of ISES physical software is concentrated at the Measureserver core unit realized as the finite-state machine. The next section deals with the design and implementation of the intelligent data processing component, which is focused on the extracting, filtering and archiving of measured data coming from the Measureserver unit communicating with a physical experiment. Finally, all the functional benefits are summarized for interested, who are involved in the remote experiments construction.

Abstract:
Data Mining is an automatic analysis of large or complex data with the aim of finding important patterns or trends that are usually not realized. However, the student data has not been utilized optimally, making it difficult for the school to carry out student development at school. Each student will make a comparison between the desired service with the service received. The K-Means algorithm is an iterative cluster technique algorithm. This algorithm starts with random selection, which is the number of clusters that you want to form. The attributes needed in processing are the student's hometown, the student's school origin, and the student's grade. Based on these attributes, the data will then be grouped into junior high school students based on city origin, school origin, and student grades using the K-Means Clustering algorithm. The results of processing this data will greatly help the junior high school, so that it is known that the distribution of each junior high school student is the most. In this study, the data used were data from junior high school students from the 2018-2019 class in Pematangsiantar as many as 300 data samples

Abstract:
Globally, large-scale national initiatives are being implemented towards promoting the level and quality of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) use in school education. However, despite these efforts, the current level of ICT uptake from schools remains low. A wide range of factors have been identified as barriers, including lack of teachers' ICT Competences and lack of ICT infrastructure. Typically, these barriers are tackled separately without taking into consideration the ecosystemic nature of schools as organizations. This paper introduces a holistic approach on School ICT Competence based on combining both individual teachers' ICT Competences and schools' eMaturity. Furthermore, it presents the design of a web-based School ICT Competence Management System which aims to capture and monitor schools' overall level of ICT uptake and facilitate effective management of resources and strategic planning towards improvement, by jointly processing these data.

Abstract Trygonis, V., Georgakarakos, S., and Simmonds, E. J. 2009. An operational system for automatic school identification on multibeam sonar echoes. – ICES Journal of Marine Science, 66: 935–949. A system for identifying and tracking fish schools is demonstrated, based on the analysis of multibeam sonar data obtained by a Simrad SP90 long-range sonar. Fish-school detection and identification techniques are similar to those commonly used for vertical echosounders, further enhanced with innovative processing algorithms applied to successive multibeam echograms, increasing the certainty that the identified objects are fish schools. Additionally, analysis of school dynamic parameters facilitates the classification of targets into certain groups, here discriminating the fish aggregating device-natant fish complex from tuna. Statistical analysis of selected tracks quantifies the spatio-temporal variability of the school descriptors, which are used retrospectively to select appropriate analysis thresholds. The algorithms are implemented in an acquisition, visualization, and processing software platform that is flexible regarding sonar characteristics (beam width and number of beams) and can be extended easily to track school echotraces in a three-dimensional mode.

Abstract Korneliussen, R. J., Heggelund, Y., Eliassen, I. K., Øye, O. K., Knutsen, T., and Dalen, J. 2009. Combining multibeam-sonar and multifrequency-echosounder data: examples of the analysis and imaging of large euphausiid schools. – ICES Journal of Marine Science, 66: 991–997. The first high-resolution, quantitative, multibeam sonar (Simrad MS70) ever developed was mounted in a keel of RV “G. O. Sars” with port-orientated beams. Each ping samples a volume of 60° horizontally × 45° vertically with 500 beams, which is often enough to insonify a complete school of fish or zooplankton. The large amount of resulting data is efficiently preprocessed with automatic, real-time detections of school candidates; these are accepted or rejected during post-processing. The system was used on the continental shelf near the Subantarctic island of South Georgia to study Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba), and some of the detected schools were immediately sampled with a six-frequency echosounder (Simrad EK60), then trawled with various nets to verify the target species and their size composition. For schools acoustically categorized as euphausiids, data from the two acoustic systems were used to estimate the school morphometrics and the krill size distributions. The principal objectives of this study were to explore the potential of combining data from a multibeam sonar, multifrequency echosounders, and nets, and to describe the efficient processing methods and software that facilitate the multi-instrument analyses. Three-dimensional morphometrics based on the MS70 data were consistent with corresponding two-dimensional morphometrics based on the echosounder data and could be used to improve the acoustic classifications of taxa or species. Additionally, automatic preprocessing and integration of data from different sources into the same user interface allowed efficient exploration and interpretation of all the acoustic data.

Abstract:
Nowadays, schools use many information systems to automate their activities for different stakeholders’ groups – learning management systems, student diary, library systems, digital repositories, financial management and accounting systems, document processing systems, etc. The huge amount of data generated by the users of these systems, led to increased interest in the collection and analysis of data to encourage students to achieve higher results, teachers to provide personalized support and school managers to make data-driven decisions at all levels of school, and stimulates research into the application of Learning Analytics (LA) in schools. The paper presents a LA model and a software prototype of the LA tool designed for the needs of Bulgarian school education from the perspective of different stakeholder groups (students, teachers, class teachers, parents, school managers, inspectors from evaluation agencies), aiming to improve school methods of approaching and analyzing learning data. The tool allows stakeholders to track data for students’ learning or training for different purposes, e.g. monitoring, analysis, forecast, intervention, recommendations, etc., but finally to improve the quality of learning and teaching processes. Research and experiments with the model and the LA tool under consideration are conducted based on the information infrastructure of a typical Bulgarian school.

Abstract:
Lithuanian school graduates wishing to be admitted to state-funded places at universities undergo a competitive selection based on their final school and state exam grades. The problem of organizing competitive selection is that in Lithuania there are different types and scales of school knowledge assessments. Algorithm developed by LAMA BPO address this problem by adjusting grades into a single scale. But choice of final arithmetic values into which pupil's grades are converted is not justified theoretically. Proposed by the authors algorithm is a development of the LAMA BPO algorithm and allows to achieve a consistently higher accuracy of predicting learning results at the university. The higher accuracy of the models indicates a better capture of the central trend: a positive correlation between the level of performance in individual school disciplines and the results of university education in certain study programs.

Abstract:
Background: Large discrepancies exist in the literature regarding definition, diagnostic criteria, and appropriate assessment for auditory processing disorder (APD). Therefore, a battery of tests with normative data is needed. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to collect normative data on a variety of tests for APD on children aged 7–12 yr, and to examine effects of outside factors on test performance. Research Design: Children aged 7–12 yr with normal hearing, speech and language abilities, cognition, and attention were recruited for participation in this normative data collection. Study Sample: One hundred and forty-seven children were recruited using flyers and word of mouth. Of the participants recruited, 137 children qualified for the study. Participants attended schools located in areas that varied in terms of socioeconomic status, and resided in six different states. Data Collection and Analysis: Audiological testing included a hearing screening (15 dB HL from 250 to 8000 Hz), word recognition testing, tympanometry, ipsilateral and contralateral reflexes, and transient-evoked otoacoustic emissions. The language, nonverbal IQ, phonological processing, and attention skills of each participant were screened using the Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals-4 Screener, Test of Nonverbal Intelligence, Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing, and Integrated Visual and Auditory-Continuous Performance Test, respectively. The behavioral APD battery included the following tests: Dichotic Digits Test, Frequency Pattern Test, Duration Pattern Test, Random Gap Detection Test, Compressed and Reverberated Words Test, Auditory Figure Ground (signal-to-noise ratio of +8 and +0), and Listening in Spatialized Noise-Sentences Test. Mean scores and standard deviations of each test were calculated, and analysis of variance tests were used to determine effects of factors such as gender, handedness, and birth history on each test. Results: Normative data tables for the test battery were created for the following age groups: 7- and 8-yr-olds (n = 49), 9- and 10-yr-olds (n = 40), and 11- and 12-yr-olds (n = 48). No significant effects were seen for gender or handedness on any of the measures. Conclusions: The data collected in this study are appropriate for use in clinical diagnosis of APD. Use of a low-linguistically loaded core battery with the addition of more language-based tests, when language abilities are known, can provide a well-rounded picture of a child’s auditory processing abilities. Screening for language, phonological processing, attention, and cognitive level can provide more information regarding a diagnosis of APD, determine appropriateness of the test battery for the individual child, and may assist with making recommendations or referrals. It is important to use a multidisciplinary approach in the diagnosis and treatment of APD due to the high likelihood of comorbidity with other language, learning, or attention deficits. Although children with other diagnoses may be tested for APD, it is important to establish previously made diagnoses before testing to aid in appropriate test selection and recommendations.

Abstract:
Management of Primary School (SD) Exam Participant Registration (DPU) at the Pagar Alam City Education and Culture Office is currently still done manually, namely by recording it in a ledger then the operator manages the data using Microsoft word and Microsoft Excel so it takes a long time to get good results. With the new system that can later create data processing effectively and efficiently, for this success a better system of data processing software is needed as a tool to reduce the error rate in the data search process for Primary School Exam Participant Registration (DPU). (SD). The method used in this research is the waterfall method which has the following sequence of communication, planning, modeling, construction and distribution. Based on the summary above, the authors are interested in raising the Software for Assisting Exam Participant Registration (DPU) in Elementary Schools (SD). At the Department of Education and Culture of the City of Pagar Alam.

Abstract:
ObjectiveSchool readiness is a condition or state indicating that the child is ready to learn in a formal educational set-up. The objective of this study was to estimate the prevalence of and factors associated with school readiness in urban schoolchildren in Ujjain, India.MethodsThis cross-sectional study was conducted from February 2016 to March 2017. Two English-medium schools were conveniently selected. All children aged 5–7 years were eligible to participate. A subscale of Differential Ability Scales-Second Edition, namely ‘school readiness scale’, was used to assess school readiness in three major domains—early number concept, matching letter-like forms and phonological processing. Data on factors associated with school readiness were collected through parent interview. Quantile regression analysis was used to explore school readiness scores.ResultsThis study included 203 school-going children (105 boys and 98 girls) having a mean (SD) age of 67.7 (±0.51) months. The phonological processing and matching letter-like forms had 31.5% and 30.5% children, respectively, in lower quantiles (≤25th). The higher quantile (≥75th) scores were achieved for phonological processing and early number concept (47.7% and 44.8% children, respectively). The results of quantile regression showed negative association of school readiness scores with age of children, lower socioeconomic status and hospitalisation status, especially in the lower quantiles (≤25th). The 10th, 50th and 75th quantile scores were positively correlated with the increasing education status of the mother. Birth weight was positively associated with the median and higher quantile scores (≥75th).ConclusionsSchool readiness in a middle-class urban setting in India was negatively associated with lower age of the child, lower socioeconomic status, hospitalisation and positively correlated with increasing birth weight and maternal education. Lower quantile scores were achieved in matching letter-like forms, which measures complex visual–spatial processing, and phonological ability, which correlates with acquired verbal concepts. Focused interventions are needed to improve these skills.

Abstract:
Schools have not fully utilized technological developments in processing data such as student data, teacher data, student attendance, and student report cards, and have not been integrated with the school system due to the lack of an academically adaptable application system. The use of media or dissemination of information is still done by pasting pamphlets on the walls of magazines, as well as storing academic data in archives in a form that is difficult to find. This is considered less effective in school management, given the rapid development of technology today. With the problems that the authors found, an online report card information system application will be designed using the Waterfall method, to make it easier to manage administrative and academic data to be more organized in decision-making in the school environment.

Abstract:
In recent years, a lot of attention has been paid to internal audit problems in comprehensive schools. Seeking to analyze information about internal audits carried out in comprehensive schools, the information, which has been analyzed, is presented on websites. Results obtained during the research showed that schools encounter difficulties before presenting Internal audit data on website as well as while processing the obtained data and apparently, there is a lack of concrete directions about how this process has to be carried out. It is obvious, that Internal audit methods are applied ineffectively, it is not clear how information has to be presented and what information should be announced in public. The research showed that the content of presented information is not exhaus-tive, does not represent school evaluation process, schools do not tend to show on websites at what level they evaluated their activities, most frequently only the weakest, strongest points or areas re-quiring improvement are pointed out. This article presents research results, which reveal comprehensive school Internal audit in-formation on websites presentation nuances. After carrying out the research, we can assert that: • There is no common system in comprehensive schools of how to present information on school website about internal audit, access to direct information requires additional time and ef-forts. • The dominating data presentation form is text. This form is most frequently used by town basic and comprehensive schools. Town gymnasiums use more advanced forms for disclosing in-ternal audit information (slides, tables, charts). • Only one out of 100 comprehensive schools presented information on performed internal audit, which corresponds to Internal audit methods of recommendatory type of information presentation about carried out Internal audit report. • Internal audit methodics in comprehensive school is not treated as important, seeking to inform the consumer about the quality of school activities, because 99% of information can be evaluated as not sufficiently exhaustive or not exhaustive. School location does not have influence on information quality. • 84 schools did not point out which year Internal Audit methodics they were using, the con-sumer has to analyze the presented information himself. • 67 schools did not indicate which year the audit was carried out, therefore analyzed meth-ods presented to the consumer can be interpreted differently as current year indicators, as previous year ones and so on, it becomes complicated to judge about the quality of school, information in itself loses actuality and seizes being informative. • Out of 100 schools, which carried out Internal Audit processes, only 12 schools were pre-sented with activity assessment results. Information dissemination in schools connected with Inter-nal Audit results is not treated as a very important source for disclosing the quality of school activi-ties. • Schools before presenting Internal Audit data on website face difficulties while processing the obtained data and apparently, there is a lack of concrete directions about how this process has to be carried out, the way information has to be presented and what data have to be pointed out seeking to reveal the school quality. Key words: internal audit, comprehensive schools, evaluation process, school quality.
