Abstract:
Cooperatives as one of the economic activity actors in Indonesia must transform operational activities and management to keep abreast of technology in the current digital era. Operational and management activities at the XYZ School cooperative are currently limited to desktop-based systems. These activities certainly need to be developed following the era of digitalization and current technological developments. Operational time of cooperatives is a major obstacle in savings and loan cooperatives at XYZ School. Operational and management activities in the current technological era should not be limited by time and place, making it easier for cooperative staff members and members in operational activities at the XYZ School savings and loan cooperatives. Based on these conditions, the authors make a prototype research on the Development of a Savings and Loan Cooperative Information System at XYZ Schools Using the Throwaway Prototyping Development Method. Research begins with gathering needs, defining the overall objective of the software, identifying all needs, then designing information systems. The results of the development of analysis and design will be illustrated in the form of UML diagrams and the design of a savings and loan information system screen at the Web-Based XYZ School. With the development of cooperative information systems it can help cooperative staff and members to carry out operational activities without being limited by school operational hours, the information produced is more informative and can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

Abstract:
Cooperative entrepreneurship plays a significant role in the effort of developing future entrepreneurs. This type of entrepreneurship increases the economic and social interests of its members and brings substantial advantages to the community and society. Due to capital sharing and low risks in starting a business, cooperative entrepreneurship is a prominent way to generate job opportunities and reduce unemployment without depending on wage employment, especially among young people. In cultivating the entrepreneurial spirit, the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE) has introduced the school cooperatives since 1968, which aims to nurture entrepreneurial experiences and orientations among students. Hence, the primary purpose of this paper is to highlight the current practices of cooperative entrepreneurship in Malaysian secondary schools by reviewing the impact of the school cooperatives’ activities in instilling entrepreneurial knowledge and motivation among the youth. This conceptual paper also aims to foster awareness into the importance of school cooperatives in the Malaysian entrepreneurship education.

Abstract:
Purpose of the study: The primary purpose of this empirical research is to investigate the impact of school cooperative involvement on entrepreneurial intention among Malaysian secondary school students. The school cooperative program was introduced in Malaysia in 1968, and presently, 2421 school cooperatives are operating nationwide. Despite so, the impact of school cooperative towards students’ entrepreneurial intention remains unclear. Methodology: This research employed the quantitative method, using a cross-sectional survey. The data collected from secondary school students in the East Coast Peninsular of Malaysia involve three states, namely Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang. The study employed the Covariance Based Structural Equation Modelling (CB SEM) to analyze the data using the Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS) graphic. Principal finding: The result shows that the students’ involvement in the school cooperative increases their entrepreneurial intention. Applications of this study: The Malaysian government should focus on nurturing entrepreneurship in schools. The Ministry of Education (MOE) and Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia (ANGKASA) need to enforce assessments on participating students to ensure the effectiveness of this entrepreneurship education program. Moreover, school administrators should support the school cooperative owing to its positive impact on students. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research delivers the best way to increase entrepreneurial intention by measuring the impact of students’ involvement in school cooperatives. Also, the paper proposes a framework for enhancing entrepreneurial intention by clarifying the Theory of Students’ Involvement. Consequently, this research fills the previous research gap on entrepreneurial intention and lack of information on Malaysian school cooperatives.

Abstract:
This study aims to formulate an innovative business incubator model by optimizing the school cooperative’s role to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit of vocational high school students in Indonesia. The method used in this study was the research and development (R&D) method from Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (1974), namely the Four-D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate) to determine a business incubator model which is compatible with school cooperatives design. Data were collected by questionnaire and interviews of students and teachers in several vocational high schools located in Central Java, Indonesia. The research resulted in the innovation management of school cooperatives which is integrated into a new business incubator model which has successfully improved the knowledge, practical skills, and entrepreneurial spirit of students in observed schools. The model consists of three stages, including planning, implementation, and evaluation which implies that collaboration among school stakeholders is key in implementing this business incubator model in order to achieve the same goal; strengthening students’ entrepreneurial spirit. The model defined in this result could be implemented in other schools to be analyzed further in terms of its effectiveness.

Abstract:
This study is a comparative analysis between savings and loan cooperatives and Islamic financial services cooperatives Baitul Maal wat Tamwil or BMT. This analysis was conducted to determine the relationship between cooperatives and BMT, so that they could provide real answers to the community, especially the public, that cooperatives and BMT are different entities. BMT is a microfinance institution that deals with middle- and lower-class entrepreneurs to help start up their business activities. BMT is intended to help the middle- and lower-class economies so that they can set up businesses without being caught up in loan sharks. Today, people often regard conventional cooperatives and BMT as financial institutions that are closely related to banks and interest. So they experience a deep dilemma when the need for business capital is not directly proportional to their mindset, they are in a dilemma if they have to pay interest and deal with moneylenders. This study is a field study (field research) with a qualitative approach conducted at Modern Islamic Boardng School al-Rifa'ie 2 Gondanglegi Malang Regency. Al-Rifa'ie has syari'ah cooperatives and BMTs that have won the trust of some people as financial service institutions that comply with Islamic law. The findings in the discussion resulted that cooperative and BMT in this case at Modern Islamic Boarding School al-Rifa'ie 2 have relations and differences. The relationship between the two lies in the legality of the institution, where BMT is under the auspices of the cooperative under its legal protection. The differences between the two are described in the comparative analysis table contained in the discussion chapter. This finding is expected to be able to provide a theoretical contribution to answer the community's doubts between conventional cooperatives and BMT.

For more than two decades, we have believed that coffee and cocoa plantations were considered as the best places for children labour in rural work. However, the schools which are supposed to educate them have become places where children labour is manifested through school cooperatives. In fact, the older children whose ages range from 10 to 15 are employed on the cashew and cotton plantations on behalf of these cooperatives which must teach them the spirit of cooperation and associative life. School cooperatives in Sinematialy (northern Côte d’Ivoire) are the examples. Thus, the present study aims to understand the social logics underlying the attitude of the various actors involved in this phenomenon of child labour through school cooperatives, in spite of the national context of fight against child labour. On the methodological level, the study is based on a qualitative approach including interviews with the different categories of actors involved.

The purpose of this research is to describe the differences between the pattern of educational communication in the Village Unit Cooperatives (KUDs) and that in the Traditional Iskamic Boarding School Cooperatives (Kopontrens) in West Java Province, Indonesia. The research was carried out with qualitative approach on 12 KUDs and 12 Kopontrrens in West Java Province, Indonesia. The idea of research was based on the International and Indonesian Cooperative Principles which obliges the cooperatives to arrange cooperative education program for the cooperative’s members and based on the facts of cultural background differences between KUDs and Kopontrens. The result of the research indicated that educational communication in the Kopontrens is stronger than that in the KUDs because the process of educational communication process in the Kopontrens has become a standardized educational program, so that the elements of communication process consisting of “who says what to whom in which channel, in what effect and environtment” has become a package of the educational communication curriculum in Kopontrens. This could explain why the members’ participation in the Kopontrens is better than that in the KUDs. This result of the study could give social and policy implication for developing method of members educatin in the KUDs in Indonesia.

Abstract:
School cooperatives are established to fulfill common interests and meet the needs of students. The transaction data of a cooperative is increasing day by day, but sometimes in a cooperative the data is left without any further utilization, as happened in the IDN Boarding School Jonggol cooperative. Utilization of the collected data can produce new information that can be used as a reference for cooperatives in determining a business strategy. Therefore, research was conducted on sales transaction data in the IDN Boarding School cooperative as an object to be analyzed using data mining techniques with an a priori algorithm, resulting in a pattern of consumer purchases that occur in the Jonggol IDN Boarding School cooperative. The transaction data used is transaction data at the IDN Boarding School cooperative. This study succeeded in implementing data mining techniques using the a priori algorithm in an application that will be used to process available transaction data, resulting in consumer purchasing patterns that tend to occur from a combination of available items. The association pattern that is formed with a minimum support of 40% and a minimum confidence value of 70% produces 9 association rules. The strong rule obtained is that if you buy a white uniform, you will buy a brown uniform with a support value of 50% and a confidence value of 83.33% items.

Abstract:
The proliferation of cooperatives in the community has become a phenomenon. This phenomenon can be classified into positive and negative side. Positive feedback can be seen from public access to capital, as it has been demonstrated that cooperatives provide business loans or consumption to the community through a mechanism that is simpler than banks. A negative assessment can be seen in the practice of loan sharks operating under the guise of saving and loan cooperative. This is in contrast to previous research, which still focuses on comparing the concept of Hatta cooperatives with the Islamic economic system. This study will look into how the cooperative system works in an Islamic boarding school. Is the system used Sharia-based, or does it refer to Hatta cooperatives' thinking? This study employs a qualitative research method (case study). The case study meant here is the existence of cooperatives under the auspices of boarding schools, but the cooperatives do not declare themselves to be sharia cooperatives. The findings show that community-based cooperatives can work great when their focus is not solely on profit. Keywords: Cooperatives, Shariah Cooperative Concept, Hatta Cooperative Concept.

Abstract:
This research aims to analyze the halal value chain model of the Salafiyah and Syafi'iyah Musa'adah Sukorejo Islamic boarding school cooperatives. This field research uses a qualitative approach with a non-positivist paradigm and emphasizes understanding social reality. The data source in this research uses primary and secondary data. Primary data is in-depth interviews with three informants, while secondary data is a literature study. Data analysis uses three stages: data reduction, descriptive and evaluation, and concluding. The research results show that the Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Musa'adah Sukorejo Islamic boarding school cooperative has implemented effective and efficient halal value chain management by Sharia principles. It is identified in the formation of halal products that have implemented a halal value chain model starting from Sharia principles' production, distribution, and consumption processes. Theoretically, this research can be an additional reference for researchers and academics looking at the halal value chain of Islamic boarding school cooperatives. Practically, this research can inspire managers of other Islamic boarding school cooperatives to implement the halal value chain model.

<em>Computerized systems are now commonly used including school cooperatives, but not all school cooperatives maximize the use of computer systems. Administrative activities and data collection are still done manually, by recording all activities into the book according to the activities carried out. The development of information technology at this time, efficiency can easily be applied using the implementation of information technology. The expectation of this information technology implementation is that cooperative data management is not done manually. Making a cooperative data collection system will simplify, accelerate cooperative staff in inputting goods data, search goods and sales and purchase transactions. So that hope can be achieved with the help of cooperative data collection system. The method used in building a cooperative data collection system is the prototyping method, where later this system can be developed again. Cooperative goods data collection system is built with the PHP programming language and database used is MySQL, while in system depiction, in general, using the Unified Modeling Language. The facilities contained in this system are the process of purchasing transactions, sales transaction processes, managing goods, managing suppliers, printing sales reports, printing purchase reports, printing profit reports and managing users. Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to determine the level of implementation of HIV prevention for students with mental retardation in rural schools in Indiana, identify barriers and supporting factors related to program implementation and identify staff development needs. Telephone interviews were conducted with 19 directors of rural special education cooperatives in Indiana. The school districts served by these 19 cooperatives represented 65.5% of the rural school districts in Indiana. The directors reported that instruction about methods of HIV transmission and skills for prevention of HIV varies among both school districts and schools within districts. Transmission of HIV and prevention skills were more likely to be taught to students with mild mental retardation than those with moderate or severe mental retardation. Five specific barriers to instruction were identified along with staff development and resource needs for special educators. Factors supporting instruction included the directors' perception of the importance of HIV prevention education and the involvement of school nurses.

Abstract:
This study aims to explore the roles of various actors in school meal programs in the Nuwakot district, particularly those following homegrown models. A mixed-method research approach was employed, involving 16 government schools (with 64 interviews) from two local governments to understand the program's impact. The school meal program in Nepal has heightened awareness among various stakeholders. Hot meals are prepared and served, with a collaborative effort in line with homegrown models involving parents who play a significant role. Schools, too, contribute significantly to the success of the program. The utilization of locally produced foods has increased, albeit with seasonal variations, and involves farmers and cooperatives. This shift has resulted in changes in dietary practices. The cooperative's role is pivotal in ensuring an ongoing supply of limited school and food items. Local markets play a crucial role in meeting demands for these programs. The local governments' role is vital, requiring a multi-sectoral approach to effectively support and sustain the program.

AbstractCompared to other sectors of welfare almost no practical or academic attention is drawn to the cooperative’s organization and legal form. This surprises considering the current boom of private school formations and the rising skepticism regarding registered associations as proper legal forms for highselling initiatives. To approach a first explanation, this article explores the influence of context and general framework as well as the motivation for such formations and the central experiences of three selected school cooperatives.

Abstract:
In the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic, teachers were forced to quickly determine how to deliver a free appropriate public education to their students when in-person instruction was not possible. School districts and states have a variety of ways to provide supports to their teachers. One method for providing technical assistance, professional development, consultation, and mentoring to teachers is through the use of regional cooperatives. In this Practice in Action article, two educational cooperative consultants present their experiences in supporting their teachers in the face of the pandemic. Successful strategies the cooperatives developed for teachers included providing trainings in online formats, creating an organized list of resources appropriate for online teaching, and facilitating opportunities for teachers to work together to problem solve in the era of the novel COVID-19. Challenges for teachers providing instruction for their students when schools were closed to face-to-face instruction are discussed.

Abstract:
In the United States, the farm to school movement has recently spread from fringe and grassroots to mainstream. As schools expand their participation, there is a rapidly growing demand to scale up food distribution. Yet, in the rush to support “farm” and “school,” the supply chain, made up of the aggregation, processing, distribution, and logistics services, has been overlooked. Paying attention to the ways in which the standard model is incongruent with goals of the movement incites possibilities for new types of supply chain that reorient from profit and efficiency toward regional economy and transparency. This article elucidates a cooperative framework consisting of three primary aims: sustain the values of the movement; successfully scale up food distribution, expanding access to local, nutritious food; and support the negotiations needed to achieve individual and collective goals. This university/community collaboration evinces the great potential for cooperatives to play a significant role in future supply chain partnerships.

Abstract:
This community service report aims to socialize the need for School-Owned Enterprises (BUMS) as an alternative source of funding for education units. Each school does have the opportunity to get funding from the government and local government, as well as the community, but in reality the education unit operates the education budget roughly. Therefore, education units need to find alternative sources of education funding. One way is to establish a School-Owned Enterprise. This BUMS is the same position as State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in the central government, Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) for provincial, district and city governments, and Village-Owned Enterprises (BumDes). The recommended BUMS can be PT, CV or Cooperative. But among the three economic institutions, cooperative is the most suitable for schools. Because, in cooperatives it is not only an economic matter, but in it there is a spirit of mutual assistance, and the spirit of education. BUMS is a manifestation of the creativity of education units under the responsibility of school principals, in addition to educational issues. All BUMS activities are the full responsibility of the principal. However, BUMS is carried out according to the rhythm of the business world, so that this institution is purely a professional economic institution
