Abstract:
Covid-19 disruption has led to a dramatic loss of patients infected with SarsCov2 agent. With a well-reviewed vulnerability for the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, studies have expressed concern also for the neurological system. Lately, a number of cases regarding manifestations of central nervous- and peripheral nervous system have been reported, raising awareness of the high prevalence of prolonged neurological symptoms. Although affecting a smaller number of patients in comparison to central nervous system, the peripheral nervous system disorders have impacted the quality of patient’s life to a great extent. Infection with SarsCov2 has been connected with the development of several disorders like Guillain -Barre syndrome, or affection of cranial nerves with anosmia and disgeusia being the most encountered. Furthermore, exacerbation of symptoms involving already established disorders like CIDP and Miastenia Gravis have also been revealed. Nonetheless, neurological complications following vaccination against SarsCov2 infection cannot be omitted.

Abstract:
Background: Study was conducted to assess the trend or characteristic of SARSCOV2 infection during 3rd wave of pandemic and to compare the efficacy of Covaxin and Covishield Vaccines. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with a mixed-method approach (Explanatory sequential mixed method) among the SARSCOV2 infected patients of West Bengal, India on the month of January 2022. In quantitative analysis 277 SARSCOV2 infected patients who were detected as COVID positive within January, were selected randomly from the secondary data source (collected by 20 general practitioners). In qualitative analysis, 11 patients from different categories were interviewed in-depth over the telephone to explain the quantitative data. Bivariate analysis (Mann Whitney U or Kruskal Wallis test) was used as per applicability. Kaplan Meir plot compared the efficacy of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines. Results: Most commonly presented symptom were low-grade fever (78.7%), a mild cough (41.9%), mild cold (62.4%), sore throat (41.9%), body ache (47.3%), and headache (33.2%). Few patients had experienced breathing difficulty (1.4%) and hospitalization (1.1%). Mann Whitney U test significantly (p<0.001) justified that Covaxin receivers have infected in late (median 161 days) comparison to other vaccines receivers (Covishield and Sputnik V median 129 days and 115 days respectively). This finding was also demonstrated in Kaplan Meir Plot. Conclusions: During the 3rd wave of the pandemic, SARSCOV2 infected patients commonly presented with milder symptoms, minimal hospitalization and without any case fatality. Delaying of infection has been observed more among Covaxin receivers compared to others.

Abstract:
It is said that children are less affected by SARSCoV2 infection because of their young immune system, so they have relatively milder symptoms as compared to adults. So the true incidence of SARSCoV2 is not known in this age group. Serosurveys in the paediatric age group can give a much better estimate of the incidence of SARSCoV2 infection in asymptomatic and symptomatic childrenThe present study was undertaken to study the seroprevalence of SARSCoV2 antibodies in children below 18 years of age, by measuring the S1RBD domain of spike protein neutralizing IgG antibody levels. This was a retrospective study carried out from August 2020 to August 2021 in a private diagnostic centre of Central India. 539 children of both genders from newborn babies upto 18 years of age were included in the study. US FDA Emergency Use Authorized [EUA], Atellica Solution SARS-CoV-2 IgG assay that detects anti S1-RBD antibodies including neutralizing IgG against SARS-CoV-2 was used for antibody estimation. Antibody level ≥1 was termed reactive or seropositive and below 1 were considered to be non reactive or seroneagtive There were 321 males and 218 females with a male to female ratio of 1.47 :1. 57% male children were seropositive while 61.9% female children showed seropositivity with an overall positivity rate of 58.99%.The findings of our study suggest that chidren below 5 years and adolescents exhibit higher antibody responses as compared to children between 5-10 years of age. The results of our study would be of help in formulating surveillance and vaccination strategies for children and in implementing public safety guidelines.

During the SARSCoV2 pandemic children appear less likely to develop severe form Compared to adult subjects with higher contagiousness and mortality, especially in those at risk (age over 65 obesity cardiovascular disease diabetes). However a new multisystemic inflammatory syndrome associated with SARSCoV2 has been identified in the child associated with a cascade of inflammatory response responsible for clinical symptoms (prolonged high fever digestive disorders rash cheilite conjunctivit) and a highly disturbed inflammatory biological profile (high CRP accelerated sedimentation rate hyperferritinemia) mimicking an atypical post covid 19 Kawasaki syndrome in children as was recently published in the literature. Our case will illustrate an unusual presentation of post covid 19 multisystemic inflammatory Syndrome acute pancreatitis in a 9-year old with favorable clinical and biological development.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction/Objective Numerous SARS-CoV-2 variants/lineages have been identified based on genome sequencing. As of June 15, 2022 almost 11,399,573 whole genome sequences have been deposited in the GISAID-database. Severity and spread of COVID19 is based on their efficiency of infection and to multiply in host. That largely depend upon the structural mutation in spike, ORF and N proteins etc. That happens due to translation of genomic mutations during polypeptide synthesis. Also, the mutations are region/country specific. Specific mutation and combination of mutation causes the emergence of new strains. However, the strains can migrate from one region to other through travelers. The main objective of the current study is profiling of mutations in the genome of SARSCoV2 using Next- Generation-Sequencing (NGS) in international travelers and phylogenetic analysis of the sequences to find out different clades of SARSCoV2. Methods/Case Report A total of 557 SARSCoV2 genomes were sequenced on S4-sequencing flow-cell on NovaSeq 6000. For NGS of SARS-CoV-2 genome, Illumina, COVIDSeq kits and the protocols will be used strictly as recommended by the manufacturer. After NGS the analysis was done followed by FASTA sequences retrieval, mutations recording and phylogeny. Results (if a Case Study enter NA) This study reports 11 clades (19A, B, 20A, B, C, D, 20E; EU1, 20G, 20H; Beta V2, 20I: Alpha V1, 21D; and Eta) for the first time in international travelers. To best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the COVIDSeq approach for detection of mutation in SARSCoV2 genomic clades. The study revealed some dominants mutations was (Orf1a: P2018Q, K1053R, E176V, Orf1b: A520V, T2165A, S: D1127G, D614G, L18F etc. in other genes). Conclusion Profiling of common mutations among travelers could fill some gaps about the existence of SARS-CoV-2 variants information. However, further studies are needed to consolidate these findings before to be utilized for development of a potential therapeutic strategy.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Thousands of individuals are affected every day by the current covid-19 pandemic, which is caused by a novel coronavirus called SARSCoV2. As a result, medicines and vaccines that are effective against all SARSCoV2 subtypes are critical today. Viral genome mutations are prevalent, and they can affect the encoded proteins, resulting in varying levels of detection and illness treatment effectiveness. Despite its clinical relevance, the SARS-CoV-2 gene set remains uncertain, making COVID-19 biology difficult to understand. A single type of mutation in the S gene that was changed the anticodon 614 from aspartic acid to glycine (D614G) consequence in increased virus infection. Herein, we report the gene mutation of structural proteins particularly spike and nucleocapsid proteins in viral genome. The overall prevalence of S and N gene mutations in SARS-CoV-2 were investigated. Among the structural proteins, our findings suggest that nucleocapsid had the highest mutation density, whereas Spike D614G was the most prevalent 93.9 %, found largely in genomes worldwide. These findings indicate that while designing diagnostics tools and therapeutic alternatives, the virus genotype in a certain community should be taken into account.

Abstract:
For almost 2 years, the SARSCoV2 pandemic has had a profound impact on the world of medicine and research. Research excitement caused by the new SARSCoV2 coronavirus may stimulate the study of demyelinating diseases (multiple sclerosis, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis acute), conversely, deepening our knowledge of the pathogenesis of demyelination and its association with viral infections may lead to studies in the immunopathogenesis of COVID19. Technological advances that have been rapidly mastered to combat SARSCoV2 may soon be used to address multiple sclerosis. A striking example is the potential use of mRNAbased technology to develop tolerant vaccines that suppress CNS autoimmunity. Clinical trials are already underway to evaluate IFNB, fingolimod, dimethyl fumarate, and masitinib (a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that is effective in phase 3 studies for primary progressive multiple sclerosis) as potent inhibitors of coronavirus. The study presents a clinical case of acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) associated with SARSCoV2 in a 39yearold woman who was examined and treated at the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital. The woman complained of severe dizziness, periodic numbness of the tongue, and snowlines of speech. From the anamnesis, it is known that from 07.05.2020 to 20.05.2020 she was treated for confirmed COVID19 infection in the Lviv Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital. Her condition was of moderate severity, she received an oxygen therapy. Neurological manifestations are horizontal nystagmus in both directions, high tendon and periosteal reflexes on all limbs, bilateral Babinski’s symptom, intentional tremor when performing a finger test on both sides. The diagnosis of demyelinating disease (possibly caused by COVID19) was established on the basis of serological studies (polymerase chain reaction to SARSCoV2), clinical findings, magnetic resonance imaging (multiple supra and infratentorial focal lesions of the white matter of the brain). The positive use of corticosteroids in the treatment of acute diffuse encephalomyelitis associated with SARSCoV2 has been reported. Thus, accurate diagnosis and timely treatment of acute demyelinating disease caused by SARSCoV2 virus are of great clinical importance.

Abstract:
Background. The appearance of new infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, poses a challenge in monitoring pregnancy and preventing obstetric and neonatal complications. A scoping review has the objective to review the information available in pregnant women infected with the MERS-CoV, SARSCoV, SARS-CoV-2 coronaviruses to assess the similarities in terms of and differences in the clinical characteristics of the mothers and neonatal outcomes. Methods. We carried out a bibliographic search (scoping review) according to the PRISMA guidelines between March and April 2020 in the MEDLINE, SciELO, and CUIDEN databases and the Elsevier COVID-19 Information Center. Results. We analyzed 20 articles with a total of 102 cases. 9 of MERS-CoV, 14 of SARS-CoV and 79 of SARS-CoV-2. Fever (75.5%) and pneumonia (73.5%) were the most frequent symptoms in infected pregnant women. The most frequent obstetric complications were the threat of premature delivery (23.5%) and caesarean section (74.5%). No vertical transmission was documented in any of the infants. Conclusions. All three coronaviruses produce pneumonia with very similar symptoms, being milder in the case of SARSCoV2. Despite documented obstetric complications, neonatal outcomes are mostly favorable. Increased knowledge is needed to improve and prevent obstetric and neonatal complications from these infections in pregnant women.

Abstract Objectives: this study systematically reviewed the literature in order to better understand the association among COVID-19, pregnancy and neonates. Methods: MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, BVS and SCOPUS were assessed, considering the terms: (covid 19 OR covid-19 OR novel coronavirus OR 2019 novel coronavirus OR 2019-nCoV OR sarscov 2 OR sars-cov-2 OR sarscov2 OR sars cov-2) AND (pregnancy OR pregnant OR pregnant women OR gestation OR gestational) AND (infant OR fetal OR neonatal). Thirty full-text were included (408 pregnant women, 11 non-pregnant women and 279 neonates). Results: fever (45.83%) and cough (31.61%) were the main symptoms of COVID-19 during the pregnancy. Low levels of lymphocytes (32.10%), elevated levels of C-reactive protein (32.35%); leukocytosis (29.41%); neutrophil (5.88%); and radiographic alterations on chest CT, x-ray or ultrasound (45.84%) were the main laboratorial findings. Cesarean delivery and preterm were registered in 239 and 49 cases, respectively. Ten neonates tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. Conclusion: when COVID-19 pneumonia affects women during pregnancy, the symptoms are similar to those experienced by non-pregnant women. In addition, there is still no plausible evidence suggesting vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2 virus from mother to child.

Abstract:
Abstract. SARS-CoV-2 is a new type of virus that causes the current pandemic. Corona virus gene mutations have become popular since the discovery of SARS-CoV-2 variants in the UK (B.1.1.7), South Africa (B.1.351), India (B.1.617.1 and B.1.617.2). The purpose of this study was to analyze the genetic mutations of L452R and N501Y in SARS-CoV-2 virus isolates found in Indonesia to obtain an overview of their role in the ACE2 receptor binding site. The benefits of this research are expected to provide scientific information regarding genetic mutations of SARS-CoV-2 isolates that are useful for vaccine development and various other studies. A bioinformatic study that began with the search for the sequence of genes encoding the SARSCoV2 protein S that had mutations from Indonesian patient isolates on the Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID) page. Furthermore, the SARSCoV2 genome sequence that was first reported in Wuhan (Wuhan-1) was extracted from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) page for comparison. The sequence of the gene encoding the protein S that had been obtained by GISAID was compared to the sequence of the gene encoding the protein S of the Wuhan-1 isolate using the Clustal Omega software. To compare the amino acid sequences of these isolates, the Coding Sequences (CDS) of protein S of the wuhan-1 isolate were translated into amino acid sequences using Skaminsky115. The nucleotide and amino acid sequences of protein S that have been obtained are then analyzed to map the position of RBD related to the mutation that occurs. The results of the study are genomic data that have been carried out by aligning the amino acid sequences of several Indonesian isolates and Wuhan-Hu-1 isolates. Then found mutations in the sequence of DNA bases and amino acid bases that are thought to be in the area around the RBD, namely in the order of (471, 472, 478, 480, 534).

Abstract:
Coronavirus is the novel coronavirus known as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2). It's a non-segmented enveloped positive sense RNA virus with 82 percent genetic similarity to the SARS coronavirus (SARSCoV), which sparked an outbreak in early 2003. Respiratory droplets are assumed to be the primary mechanism of transmission because the virus is found in respiratory secretions. Conjunctival transmission and aerosol transmission have also been proposed, however they are also problematic. Fever, tiredness, and dry mouth are the three most prevalent COVID-19 clinical symptoms. In several patients, however, conjunctivitis was the initial symptom. The disease's respiratory complications have been the focus of diagnostic and therapeutic efforts, However, a number of ocular concerns have surfaced. Infected patients' tears have been confirmed to contain SARSCov2 RNA, and studies indicate that the virus is spreading. For viral transmission, the ocular surface could serve as both an entry point and a reservoir. COVID-19 has been linked to mild conjunctivitis, which can be the disease's first and only symptom. Ocular symptoms can be treated with observation without therapy, antibacterial eye drops, antiviral eye drops, and antiallergic eye drops, according to clinical trials. As a result, the only recommended treatment for COVID-19 related ocular manifestations is close observation. The motivation behind this examination was to investigate the event of visual appearances in patients who had been determined to have COVID illness 2019 (coronavirus) because of serious intense respiratory condition.

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV-2) caused 2019 new coronavirus illness (COVID-19) has spread globally, causing a pandemic. The WHO declared the outbreak a pandemic on January 31, 2020. 2020 has been marked as COVID pandemic year. SARSCoV2 caused a global outbreak of this infectious disease. A number of cases has continued to rise since then. Coronavirus is a highly infectious disease spread mostly by respiratory droplets and direct contact with affected individuals. Viral isolation and quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) analysis confirm the diagnosis. While the pathways of virus transmission are still debated, several investigations have been conducted to identify tear film and conjunctiva as the mode of virus transmission. Multiple case reports have surfaced in which ophthalmic doctors were found to be infected during routine management. From January 26 to February 9, 2020, 30 confirmed novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) patients were recruited for a prospective interventional case series investigation at Zhejiang University's first affiliated hospital. Tear and conjunctival secretions were collected twice with disposable sample swabs at a 2-to-3 day interval for the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction assay. Twenty-one individuals with NCP of the common type and nine patients with NCP of the severe kind were included in the study. The lone patient with conjunctivitis had two samples of tear and conjunctival secretions, both of which generated positive RTPCR results. A total of 58 samples from different patients were found to be negative.

BACKGROUND: To date, there are no specific standardized treatments for SARS-COV2 infection hence, the importance of all the efforts focused during this pandemic on the development of vaccines against this infectious agent; however, public acceptance of a licensed vaccine has multiple challenges. The aim of this study was to determine the perception of the undergraduate students at Universidad del Azuay to opt for a vaccine against SARS-CoV2. METHODS: Descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study. An electronic survey was applied, between the months of January and February 2021, to a sample of 1 497 students enrolled in the 2020-2021 school year who agreed to participate. The survey contains 11 questions on sociodemographic data and characteristics of the participants and 6 questions on the perception of different aspects of the vaccine. The Chi-Square test was applied between the variables, with a confidence level of 95%. RESULTS: The acceptance of the participants for a free vaccine against SARS-CoV2 was 76.4%, this percentage of acceptance varies to 58.1% if the vaccine had a cost of 50 US dollars. Acceptance of a physician-recommended immunization process was 78%. 75.3% of the students believed that it is important to vaccinate people with comorbidities. 58% of students thought that the vaccines would be effective and 50.6% of those surveyed said that the vaccines would meet quality standards. CONCLUSION: Most of the participants would accept a vaccine against SARS-CoV2; acceptance increases if there is a recommendation from medical personnel and decreases if the vaccine has a cost. A statistically significant association was found between the acceptance of the vaccine and the following variables: sex, age, school, residence, income, type of work, social security affiliation, source of information on COVID-19, otherprevious vaccinations, previous infection with COVID-19.

Abstract:
Background: Although the association between comorbidities and the severity of COVID-19 infection has been extensively discussed, data on COVID-19 and hemoglobinopathies are still limited. SARS-Cov2 reinfections with severe acute respiratory syndrome have been described in the general population, usually with a milder outcome compared to the primary infection. The aim of our study was to determine the rate of reinfection and clinical features in a population of β-thalassemia patients. Results: Following the first infection, patients showed an adequate humoral immune response, however, all four patients are considered immune impaired owing to chronic transfusional support coupled with iron chelating treatment and splenectomy in three of the four.

Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted education in ways that academic institutions, scholars, administrators, educators, and students will strive to fully comprehend for years to come. The global spread of SARSCoV2 in early 2020 prompted social distancing as the primary countermeasure against contracting and spreading the novel coronavirus, which in turn led academic communities worldwide to suddenly transition to emergency remote teaching (ERT) in order to maintain educational continuity. This review of the literature synthesizes findings from 38 empirical studies set in higher education about ERT in 2020 from all over the world. A thematic analysis of findings produced four major themes: 1) diverse ERT experiences; 2) digital divide and vast educational/socio economic inequalities; 3) commonly-experienced ERT problems, issues, and challenges; and 4) frequently-made adjustments in response to ERT. Findings are indicative of the immediate aftermath of transitions to ERT, and open areas of research for long-term impacts of ERT are discussed.

Abstract:
Purpose: To evaluate the anti-SARS CoV-2 effect of Coenzyme Q 10, Ubiquinol-10, and idebenone, which have beneficial therapeutic applications against diverse virus types, using molecular docking approach. Methods: The potential activity of Coenzyme Q10, Ubiquinol-10, and Idebenone against viral infections was explored through the collection of data from relevant literature, and by modelling these compounds virtually, using in silico investigation methods. Results: Coenzyme Q10 and ubiquinol-10 showed significant docking performance. They interacted with numerous amino acid residues of the main protease of SARS-CoV-2 ACE2 (7C8J), Alpha thrombin (1AE8), TYRO (4TS1) protein targets sides, SARS-coronavirus Orf7a accessory protein (1XAK), TNF (1RJ8), and Cytokine/receptor (1I1R).Conclusion: The findings of our study showed promising inhibitory activities of the selected compounds against the main proteases of SARS-CoV-2. Consequently, these compounds have theoretical effects on inhibiting the viral entry, reproduction, and ultimately the prevention and/or treatment of the SARSCoV2 infection.

Abstract:
Patients recovering from confirmed COVID19 particularly moderate to severe disease, those treated in HDU / ICU support with high flow nasal cannula & Mechanical ventilation ,experienced different symptoms ranging from tiredness, fatigue to severe exertional dyspnea. High resolution CT scan of Chest of these such patients showed persistent radiological abnormalities simulating progressive fibrotic lung disease. Lung function including CO transfer factor revealed moderate to severe reduction. In case of patients recovered from moderate to severe COVID19 pneumonia, lung fibrosis is a big problem and it is one of the most worrying long-term complications. Lung fibrosis was documented in previous Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome & Middle east Respiratory Syndrome pathology, and current observational studies suggests that pulmonary fibrosis could also complicate infection by SARSCOV2. The objective of our study was to set up a criteria of patients who are at risk to develop such serious complication, thus giving a chance for early detection of post-COVID19 lung fibrosis and thus preventing such disabling complication by proper andearly intervention . Abstract:
SARS-CoV-2 virus affects all organs and systems of the human body, including urinary and reproductive. Covid-19 disease has symptoms, clinical evolution and unknown complications till our days. Based on urology-specific systematic literature review, the authors describe the epidemiology and mechanisms of male urinary and reproductive system damaged by SARS-CoV-2 virus. The pathogenesis of renal impairment in Covid-19 is multifactorial with direct action of the virus on the nephron, but especially due to factors generated by inflammatory process, intravascular coagulation, hypovolemia, cytokine storm or toxic drug action. The presence of kidney disease until infection with SARSCoV2 virus can be interpreted as a risk factor for the evolution of the disease. Covid-19 disease also has an impact on male sexual-reproductive function, due to erectile dysfunction, decreased sperm motility or hormonal influences. At the moment, there is no evidence about presence of the specific effective drug for the treatment of Covid-19, the only medical solution to avoid side effects of the disease, is and remains vaccination.
