Abstract:
The rapid advancement in pattern recognition via the deep learning method has made it possible to develop an autonomous medical image classification system. This system has proven robust and accurate in classifying most pathological features found in a medical image, such as airspace opacity, mass, and broken bone. Conventionally, this system takes routine medical images with minimum pre-processing as the model's input; in this research, we investigate if saliency maps can be an alternative model input. Recent research has shown that saliency maps' application increases deep learning model performance in image classification, object localization, and segmentation. However, conventional bottom-up saliency map algorithms regularly failed to localize salient or pathological anomalies in medical images. This failure is because most medical images are homogenous, lacking color, and contrast variant. Therefore, we also introduce the Xenafas algorithm in this paper. The algorithm creates a new kind of anomalous saliency map called the Intensity Probability Mapping and Weighted Intensity Probability Mapping. We tested the proposed saliency maps on five deep learning models based on common convolutional neural network architecture. The result of this experiment showed that using the proposed saliency map over regular radiograph chest images increases the sensitivity of most models in identifying images with air space opacities. Using the Grad-CAM algorithm, we showed how the proposed saliency map shifted the model attention to the relevant region in chest radiograph images. While in the qualitative study, it was found that the proposed saliency map regularly highlights anomalous features, including foreign objects and cardiomegaly. However, it is inconsistent in highlighting masses and nodules.

Abstract:
Over the last decade, there has been a growing interest in the use of a wide range of phytoadditives to counteract the harmful effects of heat stress in poultry. Willow (Salix spp.) is a tree with a long history. Among various forms, willow bark is an important natural source of salicin, β-O-glucoside of saligenin, but also of polyphenols (flavonoids and condensed tannins) with antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activity. In light of this, the current review presents some literature data aiming to: (1) describe the relationship between heat stress and oxidative stress in broilers, (2) present or summarize literature data on the chemical composition of Salix species, (3) summarize the mechanisms of action of willow bark in heat-stressed broilers, and (4) present different biological effects of the extract of Salix species in different experimental models.

Abstract:
Sentences can be enriched by considering what the speaker does not say but could have done, the alternative. We conducted two experiments to test whether the salience of the alternative contributes to how people derive implicatures. Participants responded true or false to underinformative categorical sentences that involved quantifiers. Target sentences were sometimes preceded by the alternative and sometimes by a control sentence. When the target was preceded by the alternative, response times to implicature responses were faster than when preceded by the control sentence. This suggests that (1) alternative salience influences higher-level reasoning (2) the cost of deriving implicatures in sentence verification paradigms is due in part to low alternative salience.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract Introduction/Objective Gastric adenomyoma is a lesion characterized by proliferation of epithelium and smooth muscle in the stomach or small bowel. By ultrasound, gastric adenomyoma usually appears as a submucosal nodule with a cystic center. They can mimic many benign and malignant conditions and are an important differential diagnosis to consider in fine needle aspiration of submucosal upper gastrointestinal lesions. Methods/Case Report We present a 30-year-old male who presented with abdominal pain, dyspepsia, and heartburn. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy demonstrated a 10 mm well-circumscribed hypoechoic mass in the antral submucosa along the greater curvature of the stomach. Two years later, the lesion was 18.6 mm in greatest dimension and fine needle aspiration was performed. Cell block showed foci of benign gastric glands and bland smooth muscle tissue, positive for smooth muscle actin and desmin, and negative for CD34 and c-kit (CD117). Gastrointestinal stromal tumor was the main differential diagnosis and adenomyosis was not considered, thus, the biopsy was thought to represent normal gastric wall, and the glands were dismissed as contaminant from the aspiration. A subsequent ultrasound two years later again demonstrated the lesion, now 21.5 mm in greatest dimension, and definitive resection was performed. Histologic examination showed a segment of stomach with gastric antral-type mucosa and an underlying mass forming lesion consisting of scattered gastric type glands admixed with smooth muscle bundles, consistent with gastric adenomyoma. The glands were completely surrounded by smooth muscle and lamina propria. Our patient has been asyptomatic one year since resection of the gastric adenomyoma. Results (if a Case Study enter NA) NA Conclusion Gastric adenomyoma is an important differential of intramural spindle cell neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract alongside many benign and malignant conditions. Consideration of gastric adenomyoma at the time of the original biopsy would have spared the patient uncertainty regarding their prognosis and allowed for definitive resection two years earlier.

Abstract:
Empirical studies have proved the significant impact of consumers’ salient thinking on their purchasing decisions, especially when there is more than one product in the market. This study establishes a pricing model to study the corresponding pricing strategies when consumers’ purchasing decisions are influenced by salient thinking. Our analysis finds that price salience is optimal when the cost of the high-quality product is low; quality salience is optimal when the cost of the high-quality product is high.

Abstract:
Informationsrezeption) in cvK.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Purpose – Jinnah was, to some extent, a successful leader in obtaining his goals of becoming the only spokesperson for Muslims in India and gaining a piece of land for Pakistan but the main question is whether these achievements can be attributed to transactional or transformational strategies. Has he managed transactional or transformational change in terms of political culture? This point will be discussed in the paper. The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach – A documentary analysis of behaviors, statements and incidents of Jinnah and other relevant personages. Findings – The research shows that Jinnah was neither a transformational nor a charismatic leader. Therefore, his success cannot be attributed to his transformational ideology or charismatic personality. The political maneuvers that he adopted by frequently changing his espoused values and theories-in-use are the sources of his transactional success. Moreover, it is the international events and the vested political interests of the British are among the significant reasons that brought him success. Research limitations/implications – In this work, a detailed comparison has not been made between voluminous theories of leadership because it is beyond the scope of this research. Moreover, it is not the intention of the paper to compare his leadership with that of other leaders; however, the future research in this direction might be useful. Indeed, the relevant leadership examples have been selected from the All India Congress with the major point of reference being the All India Muslim League – the party that brought him real recognition and fame. Practical implications – It is stressed in the research that overt success is not a sufficient criterion to categorize a leader in a specific category without analyzing espoused theory and theories-in-use. The study will help those researchers who are interested in understanding the current political culture of Pakistan. The research will be helpful in enhancing the debate within the theme of leadership, especially transformational, transactional and charismatic. Moreover, the paper will encourage other researchers to compare Jinnah's leadership with that of other political leaders of the world. Originality/value – The research is original as Jinnah's leadership from the perspectives of transformational and transactional leadership styles and the espoused theory and theories-in-use has, so far, not been discussed. It presents significant new arguments and information, which will be in the interest of researchers.
