Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to present the results of geophysical surveys at the Staré zámky site near Brno-Líšeň, which were carried out in 2019. Electrical resistivity tomography, georadar survey and large-scale magnetic prospection were all carried out there. The primary task of the first two methods was to investigate the inner structure of the still-existing ramparts and to identify their individual structural elements. The magnetic survey focused on the identification of areas where potential archaeological features can be found – together with the identification of previously-unknown fortifications. The surveys were successful: we have found numerous settlement features from different phases of settlement, an early medieval cemetery and fortifications of various types, sizes and state of preservation. The results of previous archaeological research of the site played an important role for interpretation of the geophysical data. Together these results provide important insights into the study of the complex fortified settlement of Staré zámky. Despite our results, some questions which cannot be answered by geophysical research alone remain unanswered.

Abstract:
This paper presents the results of a study of Carabid beetles in two limestone quarries in South Moravia. The first one was a limestone quarry pit called Lesní lom which is located approximately 1 km away from the northern edge of the city district of Brno-Líšeň. The second locality was a limestone quarry of Malá dohoda which is located in a protected landscape area in the northern part of Moravian Karst. Using formaldehyde pitfall traps, 1682 specimens belonging to 66 species were caught in 2012, out of which 847 specimens (49 species) were from the active quarry of Malá dohoda and 835 specimens (40 species) came from Lesní lom quarry which had already been closed for 15 years at the time of research. The most abundant species included Anchomenus dorsalis, Carabus ullrichii ullrichii, C. cancellatus, and Aptinus bombarda. Relict species collected were Aptinus bombarda, Leistus rufomarginatus, and Carabus irregularis irregularis which is together with C. cancellatus, and Cylindera germanica included in the Red List of the Czech Republic. Xerothermophilic species of Carabid beetles found refuge mainly in the quarry marginal sites. In the case of Malá dohoda quarry, the influence of the surrounding PLA Moravian Karst was evident in the distribution of Carabid beetles.

Abstract:
Early Tournaisian was a period of transition between devonian hot and carboniferous cold climate system and therefore crucial in terms of global reconstruction evolution. Early Tournaisian represents a period that follows a detailed studied Hangenberg crisis (late Famenian) and that is connected to glaciation. Based on the study of conodont fauna this article outlines the biostratigraphy of the Lower Tournaisian upper Křtiny limestones situated in the Lesní lom quarry. „Upper“ Křtiny limestones are pale grey mud calciturbidites containing abundant microfauna of conodonts, echinoderms, ostracods, brachiopods, bivalves, bryozoans, ichthyoliths, radiolarians, trilobites and foraminiferas. They are part of the Líšeň Formation which belongs to Paleozoic of Moravian Karst. 8 samples were taken and evaluated from 3 profiles. In total there were determined 22 conodont species belonging to conodont families of Bispathodus, Polygnathus, Pseudopolygnathus and Siphonodella. Following taxons were found: Siphonodella belkai DZIK 1997, Si. carinthiaca SCHÖNLAUB 1970, Si. cf Si. isosticha COOPER 1939, Si. duplicata-jii, Si. jii HASS 1959, Si. lobata BRANSON & MEHL 1934b, Si. obsoleta HASS 1959, Si. sandbergi (M1, M2) KLAPPER 1966, Polygnathus communis communis BRANSON & MEHL 1934b, Po. distortus BRANSON & MEHL 1934b, Po. inornatus BRANSON 1934, Po. purus purus VOGES 1959, Po. spicatus BRANSON 1934, Po. vogesi ZIEGLER 1962, Pseudopolygnathus fusiformis BRANSON & MEHL 1934b, Ps. primus BRANSON & MEHL 1934, Ps. triangulus inaequalis VOGES 1959 and Ps. triangulus triangulus VOGES 1959. Based on the conodont elements the Siphonodella jii and Siphonodella sandbergi zones were distinguished. All profiles but profile 2 belonged to the siphonodellid-polygnathid biofacies, profile 2 belonged to the polygnathid biofacies.

Abstract:
Recent operation in the Kalcit Quarry near Brno-Líšeň exposed contact of Devonian limestones with overlying Miocene sediments. Calcareous silts with chert debris and non-calcareous clays fi lling the cleft s in the limestone are Middle Miocene in age (Lower Badenian). They contained association of translucent heavy minerals derived from Drahany Culmian formations and the Brno Massif. Fossil content comprised conodonts and foraminifers weathered off the Lower Carboniferous limestones, brackish gastropods reworked from the Rzehakia Beds (Ottnangian) and foraminifers reworked from Karpatian and Lower Badenian clays. Overlying grey gravelly sand contained varied association of heavy minerals reworked from post-Jurassic products of tropical weathering and block of Paleogene silcrete. Finally, the Lower Badenian Brno Sands capping the section contained rich pseudoassociation of foraminifers reworked from the Karpatian and Badenian sediments nearby as well as Upper Cretaceous and Paleogene foraminifers from more distant edge of the Carpathian Flysch Belt.

Abstract:
About two meters thick section of the Famennian Křtiny Limestones (Líšeň Formation) was studied in a small pit-quarry near the road leading from Brno-Líšeň to Ochoz u Brna. Conodont samples were taken from seven diff erent stratigraphical levels. A richly fossiliferous interval (about 40 cm thick) can be distinguished in the higher part of the section. This interval is characterized by abundant occurence of clymenids, bivalves, orthocone nautiloids, trilobites and other groups. Black limestone lenses (maximal thickness about 10 cm) are developed in the lowermost part of the richly fossiliferous interval. A presence of Palmatolepis glabra lepta (late morphotype), Palmatolepis minuta minuta and Palmatolepis rugosa trachytera suggests these black limestones probably represent the Lower Annulata event (Upper Palmatolepis rugosa trachytera zone). Polygnathus styriacus indicating the base of the Palmatolepis perlobata postera zone enters within about 10 centimeters thick interval of dark grey biodetritic limestones which occur closely above the black limestone lenses. The Upper Annulata event and equivalents of „Wagnerbank“ or „Annulata limestone“ were not distinguished in the studied section. This might be caused by condensed sedimentation. Grey limestones and marly limestones belonging to the higher part of the richly fossiliferous interval are placed above the base of the Palmatolepis perlobata postera zone. The studied locality might correspond to the original fossil site described by Rzehak in 1910.

Abstract:
The paper summarizes the results of colorimetric analyses of a large set of limestone samples from the Mokrá Quarry in the Moravian Karst (NE from Brno, Czech Republic). The examined samples belong to three lithologically different series of strata: Macocha, Líšeň, and Březina Formations. Limestones of these formations differ in the contents of non-carbonate component and, hence, in colour. The samples were prepared in four ways for colorimetric measurements: 1. unpolished bulk samples (cleavage planes were measured), 2. polished sections, 3. powder in a plastic bag, 4. simple uncovered powder. All of the four ways of sample preparation led to different results. The results were expressed using a CIE L*a*b* colour space. Based on the L* (specific lightness) value, the amounts of a non-carbonate component can be roughly judged. The specific lightness can be used for assigning a sample to a lithostratigraphic member and possibly also to correlation reasons in many cases.

Abstract:
The subject of the diploma thesis is the design of a new Roman Catholic church with conveniences, which will be located in the city of Brno - Líšeň, in the northwestern part of the cadastral area Líšeň, on a sloping plot, between Horníkova and Molákova streets, near the youth center ("Saleska"). The church will serve the Roman Catholic Congregation of the Selesians, who are attended to the education and work with children and youth. The church will be dedicated to the third Divine Person of the Holy Spirit. The main aim of the church is to be a place of meeting in the community of believers, but also a quiet and peaceful place to meet God. The proposal will also consider the construction of a vicarage, which should be a meeting place for parishioners at various events with the possibility of accommodating the Salesians. The idea is proceeded on the main symbols of the Salesians. The design is based on the idea of a home, a circle, which symbolizes the family atmosphere. It is derived from three pillars. The sense, the religion and the kindness, standing on a triangular background that serve as points to create a community bounded by circles. This fellowship is defined by three circular segments in the form of reinforced concrete framework structures, each of them represents one of the divine persons of the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The gaps among the structures serve for such an illumination, which does not distract the attention from the church to the outside environment and preserves the peace and the spirituality in the interior.

Abstract:
The topic of this diploma thesis is design processing of a new sacral building in Brno-Líšeň district. It is a plot in the middle of a panel building between the health centre building and the building of the Salesian Youth Center, so-called Salesko. The Salesian community, which will use the building the most, has been waiting for the realization of this building for many years. The key theme is the creation of spaces enabling people to meet for worship, celebrations and social events. The design is processed by two interconnected operations - the building of the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit and the building of clergy house. The basic composition consists of three cubic masses - the entrance, the main liturgical space and the clergy house. The bell tower is the height dominant feature which indicates the sacral function of the building. The project consists a set of buildings with two above-ground floors and a basement in the entrance part of the church. This project also mentions the solution of open spaces around the plot and their conversion into quality public areas, marginally. The sacral space is to become a place that welcomes and takes in its visitors and gives them the feeling of safety. Inside this building, people will find peace, support and undestarstanding, so they may leave with the feeling of being a better person.

Abstract:
The content of the diploma thesis was an architectural study of a sacral building in Brno - Líšeň. The subject of the study was the elaboration of an ideological design of a sacral complex, which consisted of a church and a parish. The main operator of the whole complex will be the Salesian community, whose background is in close proximity to the area. The basic idea of the design was to design a spiritual place, which in its form conveys clear information about the use of the object and at the same time supports the development of ideas of the Salesian community. It is a structure that conveys the mission itself, not by one element, but by a set of several elements that together create a story, vision, mission. The ideological solution in this case thus becomes an equilateral triangle, which symbolizes the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. With its dominant vertical direction facing the sky, the object symbolically points to the spiritual path and self-realization. The given area is solved as a complex, the elements of which complement each other and thus create a harmonious whole. The design creates a space for both liturgical celebrations in the interior and exterior, which is used by the outdoor presbytery, which is complemented by residential stairs. These elements are intended to encourage residents to meet and establish friendly relations.

Abstract:
The assignment of this diploma thesis is design proposal of a new roman catholic church and parsonage with parish centre inside stabilised existing development of slab block housing estate in Nová Líšeň, Brno. The need for church has emerged shortly after completion of the housing development and intensified alongside the growth of believer community created around Salesian centre that has been active in the area since 90’s and focuses on upbringing of youngsters through Don Bosco’s educating methods. Masses have been held so far in the gym of the Salesian centre with about 250 Sunday visitors. The church ought to be designed near the centre and dedicated to Holy spirit so that it serves both community and wider range of believers at the housing estate. The thesis deals with church, parsonage with parish centre and housing development relationship. It’s attempting to answer the question how the church connects to the housing estate and communicates its mission to its surroundings. The design proposal is based on urban context analysis, analysis of Salesian congregation and conditions of the building plot. The composition consists of two functional parts that are connected. First part consists of the church building design with 300 seated and 100 standing visitors capacity per mass and technical support areas. Second functional part is made of the parish centre with community hall for 100 people, educational room, parish offices and accommodation for members of congregation. The design content is supplemented with design of semi-public space, solution to traffic service and parking and design of parish orchard.

Abstract:
The topic of the diploma thesis is the design of the Roman Catholic Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in Brno Líšeň. The building will complement the needs of the Salesian community, which has been operating in the nearby Salesko youth house for almost 30 years and focuses on educating young people using methods from Don Bosco. The design of the church also envisages the construction of facilities for parishioners and accommodation for Salesians. It should also serve not only the current community, but also the general public. The design offers a solution how to modernize a building of these dimensions into an urban complex such as a housing estate in modern times. All this with an emphasis on minimizing the negative impacts on existing residents who use the surrounding areas for recreation. The building will consist of two functional units. The first will consist of a church building with a capacity of 300 seated and 100 standing parishioners. The second part will be a parish center with a community hall for 100 people. There will also be apartments for priests, a hobby workshop and parish offices.

The subject of this diploma thesis is the design of a study of a sacral object - the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in Brno, Líšeň. The church building is complemented by a spiritual center. The construction program is limited to the following: the church building, with its facilities - parking spaces, rehearsal room, flower preparation room, sale of small items with a rest area; main nave of the church, choir, space for children with parents, chapel; background of the sacristy - confessional, parish office, sacristy, depositary. Another part of the building program are the premises of the spiritual center: reception, foundation offices with archives, conference room, Sunday school classroom, multifunctional hall, club room, 3 apartments with a separate chapel. Everything is complemented by technical and hygienic facilities. The design is extended by relaxation areas in the vicinity, which expand the portfolio of civic amenities in the area. The design includes both sacral and profane functions. The spiritual center is therefore of a multifunctional nature and offers stimuli both for the Salesian community and for the local inhabitants of the adjacent settlement. Their meeting center is Kostelní náměstí, which meets in the axes of the two main directions of arrival from Horníkova Street and from the Salesian Youth Center. The foreground with seating and sale of small items serves the general public, which can continue to use the multifunctional hall for concerts, lectures, exhibitions. The premises of the clubhouse, classroom and the Parish Atrium will be used for educational and other activities for children, their parents and grandparents and other social groups. The topic of the diploma thesis is the elaboration of the design of a new sacral building in Brno-Líšeň. The church building is complemented by a spiritual center with facilities. The church is to serve not only the contemporary Salesian community, but also to be open to a wider circle of believers. It is a slightly sloping plot in the middle of a panel building between the polyclinic building and the building of the Salesian Youth Center (= Salesko). Salesko is a non-profit organization whose mission is to accompany children and young people on their journey to adulthood and contribute to their physical, mental and spiritual development. The center builds on the preventive pedagogical system of Don Bosco, the founder of the Salesians. The idea is based on the main essence of the Salesians - home, family background, community. The design processes several interconnected operations into one complete unit with a common entrance atrium. The floor plan of the objects imitates the letter U, which means openness to the surrounding world, while also providing a certain background - safety. The buildings are single-storey, only the liturgical space itself, formed by a circular floor plan, forms a dominant dominant with a bell tower. Part of the design is the solution of parking spaces and free outdoor areas. From the urban point of view, emphasis is placed on walking accessibility, at the same time barrier-free access and use of the building is ensured.

The main task of diploma is creating a sacral object and community centre of Salesians in Brno-Líšeň. A construction of the Salesian complex started in 1998. As a result, the whole complex of institution got to the district of Brno-Lisen with the help of the endowment fund for youth. The Congregation focuses on the methods of educating the youth of Don Bosco, the father and teacher of the youth, the first head of the Salesian. The creation of a church is a very desirable step for the Salesian Center, because Masses are currently being celebrated in the existing building in the gym, where not everything is needed to carry out of the event. The church should be developed in the vicinity of Salesian centre and has to be available for a wide range of societies. The architectural project includes the designing of church, parish building and enviroment. The form and view of the complex suit to this environmental area and react on its entire structure. The object consists of two forms, which are connected by the horizontal communication. In the middle of the Salesian complex, there is a semi-open area. The first object is a church with a capacity of approximately 200 hundred visitors, the second object is a parish building, which perform the functions of administration with multifunction space for the exhibitions, aparmtments and offices for its employees.
