Abstract:

En el presente artículo se reflexiona sobre los mitos contemporáneos dominantes acerca de la participación rusa en Primera Guerra Mundial —PGM—. El texto abarca las discusiones historiográficas rusas sobre el tema, y no pretende analizar las demás corrientes mundiales, aunque se realiza un breve comentario para explicar algunas tendencias latentes en las discusiones rusas. El análisis se concentra en los mitos surgidos en la sociedad y, en menor medida, entre los académicos. En últimas, se pretende dar cuenta de la complejidad que rodea los mitos históricos sobre la participación rusa en la guerra y evitar la aparición de nuevos mitos o la reaparición de los antiguos.

Abstract:

As I start my year as RUSA President, I would like to share my thoughts on the health and vitality of RUSA as we move into a new year with aspirational ideas, goals, and plans. RUSA is only as strong as the number of its engaged members. At the time of writing this column (May 2016), we have seen a decline in membership of 4.0 percent from last year. The decline from this same time the previous year (May 2015) was 2.8 percent. The RUSA budget relies significantly on membership dues for revenue and, while we’re expecting our deficit to be lower than planned, we are operating with a deficit budget. As a result, in addition to possibly putting a dues increase on the 2017 ballot, we are talking about how to re-energize RUSA so we can operate nimbly and flexibly to support and encourage the greatest possible member engagement.

Abstract:

Rusa timor (Rusa timorensis) merupakan salah satu jenis rusa asli Indonesia. Salah satu aspek penting dalam upaya konservasi adalah terkait aspek kesehatan rusa timor. Nilai normal maupun gambaran rujukan terkait karakteristik fisiologis hewan dinilai penting dalam mengevaluasi status kesehatan rusa timor di penangkaran. Salah satu aspek yang penting untuk dipelajari yaitu karakteristik morfologi sel darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui morfologi dan morfometri sel darah rusa timor di penangkaran. Sampel darah diperoleh dari 10 ekor rusa timor yang terdiri dari lima ekor rusa timor jantan dan lima ekor rusa timor betina. Sampel darah dipreparasi dalam sediaan ulas darah dengan pewarna Giemsa kemudian diamati di bawah mikroskop. Pengukuran morfometri sel darah dilakukan menggunakan mikroskop digital. Morfologi eritrosit rusa timor pada sediaan ulas darah memperlihatkan adanya poikilositosis berupa sel sabit. Morfometri eritrosit rusa timor jantan secara nyata (P<0,05) lebih besar dibandingkan dengan rusa timor betina. Gambaran morfologi leukosit rusa timor sama dengan leukosit mamalia pada umumnya. Morfologi dan morfometri masing-masing jenis leukosit rusa timor tidak memiliki perbedaan nyata (P>0,05) antar jenis kelamin

Abstract:

Penangkaran Rusa Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman merupakan salah satu penangkaran rusa di Provinsi Lampung. Dalam upaya pengembangan rusa timor (Cervus timorensis) di penangkaran tersebut perlu diketahui perilaku hariannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perilaku harian rusa timor di penangkaran tersebut dan membandingkannya dengan rusa timor di Penangkaran Rusa Taman Satwa Lembah Hijau. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 14 hari pada bulan Juli - Agustus 2016, dan 14 hari pada bulan Desember 2017 - Januari 2018, dimulai dari pukul 06.00 - 18.00 WIB. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode scan sampling, dan objek penelitian adalah jantan dewasa, betina dewasa, jantan anakan, dan betina anakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rusa timor melakukan perilaku makan dengan persentase 54,05 %, istirahat 33,10 %, berpindah 9,99 %, lainnya (grooming, defekasi, urinasi) 2,45%, sosial 0,26%, bermain sendiri 0,10%, dan tidur 0,05%. Hasil ini berbeda dengan perilaku harian rusa timor di Penangkaran Rusa Taman Satwa Lembah Hijau yang menunjukkan persentase perilaku makan 27,46 %, istirahat 27,11 %, berpindah 16,72 %, bersuara 14,99 %, tidur 8,65 %, dan lainnya 5,07 %. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa jumlah pakan drop in yang diberikan untuk rusa timor di Penangkaran Rusa Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan Penangkaran Rusa Taman Satwa Lembah Hijau.

Abstract:

Rusa merupakan salah satu sumber daya genetik yang ada di Indonesia. Keberadaan populasi rusa timor semakin menurun sebagai akibat adanya perburuan liar untuk berbagai kepentingan. Usaha yang dilakukan agar populasi rusa di alam tetap lestari ialah dengan melakukan pengembangan rusa timor melalui konservasi ex situ. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik morfologi rusa timor dan sistem pemeliharaan pada penangkaran di Kota Kupang. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 35 ekor rusa timor yang dipelihara pada dua penangkaran di Kota Kupang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, wawancara, dan pengukuran menggunakan pita ukur meliputi: pengukuran panjang badan (cm), tinggi badan (cm), lingkar dada (cm), panjang ekor (cm), panjang telinga (cm), panjang kepala (cm), panjang ranggah (cm), dan bobot badan (kg) menggunakan rumus winter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan antara rusa timor jantan dan betina. Secara morfologi, rusa timor jantan memiliki warna dasar kuning kecoklatan pada seluruh area tubuh dan tidak memiliki corak tertentu, sedangkan rusa timor betina memiliki warna coklat, dan berwarna coklat keabuan pada area ventral yaitu bagian kaki, perut, dagu dan bagian bawah leher. Secara morfometri, menunjukan adanya perbedaan nyata pada bagian-bagian luar tubuh rusa jantan dan betina yaitu : bobot badan, lingkar dada, panjang badan, dan tinggi badan. Rusa timor dewasa di Kota Kupang memiliki ukuran tubuh yang lebih besar dibandingkan rusa timor dewasa di Manokwari. Anak rusa timor di Kota Kupang memiliki ukuran tubuh yang lebih besar bila dibandingkan dengan anak rusa timor di Ciawi. Sistem pemeliharaan rusa timor pada dua kawasan penangkaran di Kota Kupang merupakan penangkaran semi terkurung (mini ranch) yang dipelihara di area pekarangan rumah.

Abstract:

We document six observations of an aquatic behaviour used by rusa deer (Rusa timorensis) to delay an imminent attack from Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis). This unusual behaviour arose after rusa deer fled into the nearby seawater following an attack from a solitary Komodo dragon. Once in the sea, rusa deer remained relatively stationary by standing in shallow water (<1 m deep) for up to 4 h. This behaviour generally allowed rusa deer to avoid an in-water attack from Komodo dragons. However, if rusa did not die from injuries, they moved back onto land and were subsequently killed by Komodo dragons. The aquatic behaviour delays subsequent attacks on rusa deer by Komodo dragons, but this appears only to postpone, rather than prevent, the deer’s death.

Do you refer to yourself as reference librarian? If so, what does the word reference mean to you?”1 This was the lead on RUSA Past-President Anne Houston’s column in the spring 2016 issue of RUSQ. Shortly thereafter she formed the RUSA Name Change Task Force to examine possibilities for changing the name of RUSA in the context of larger re-branding efforts within RUSA and “library public services generally.” In the fall, the task force submitted their report which will be discussed by RUSA board to determine next steps. The report should be published to the RUSA website by the time this issue appears.

Rusa timor (Cervus timorensis)merupakan salah satu rusa asli Indonesia dan ditetapkan sebagai satwa yang dilindungi karena perburuan yang dilakukan secara terus menerus dengan tidak memperhatikan keseimbangan ekosistemnya. Penelitian mengenai pola aktivitas harian rusa dilakukan di penangkaran rusa Cagar Alam Pananjung Pangandaran dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pola yang khas pada tingkat individu berdasarkan jenis kelaminnya. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode scan samplingdan ad libitum. Objek penelitian ini adalah betina induk, jantan induk dan anak. Aktivitas harian yang diamati terdiri dari aktivitas makan, bergerak, istirahat dan aktivitas lainnya (diantaranya membersihkan diri, kawin, urinasi). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pola aktivitas harian rusa betina induk terdiri dari makan (45,83%), bergerak (27,5%), istirahat (25%) dan lainnya (1,67%). Aktivitas rusa jantan induk terdiri dari makan (34,16%), istirahat (27,5%), bergerak (26,7%) dan lainnya (11%). Adapun proporsi aktivitas rusa muda (anak) lebih banyak melakukan aktivitas makan (47,5%), daripada aktivitas istirahat (23,33%), bergerak (26,67%), dan lainnya (2,5%). Penelitian ini menghasilkan informasi mengenai pola distribusi waktu yang digunakan oleh rusa timor untuk aktivitas hariannya sehingga pengelolaan dan konservasi baik secara eksitu maupun insitu dapat dioptimalkan.

Materi yang digunakan adalah 10 ekor Rusa Timor betina dan darah dari masing-masing rusa tersebut. Rusa diadaptasikan dan sebanyak 5 ekor diberi perlakuan suplementasi Mg, Zn, dan Se (T1) dan kontrol (T0) selama 8 minggu. Rusa disinkronisasi berahinya menggunakan implan Medroxy Progesteron Acetat (MPA) selama 16 hari. Sampel darah diambil pada tiap fase berahi untuk dianalisis kandungan mineral darah serta dihitung total leukosit dan diferensial leukositnya. Analisis data menggunaakan metode Ttest dan Mann Whitney U-test. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa total leukosit dan diferensial leukosit Rusa Timor tidak berbeda nyata (p>0.05) pada kedua kelompok. simpulan yang diperoleh adalah hampir semua parammeter menunjukkan nilai tertinggi pada fase estrus, kecuali eosinofil dan monosit yang tinggi pada fase diestrus dan metestrus. Abstrak. Terdapat 40 jenis spesies rusa di seluruh dunia (Ariantiningsih, 2000), lima diantaranya ada di Indonesia yaitu rusa sambar (Cervus unicolor), rusa bawean (Axis kuhlii), rusa timor (Cervus timorensis), kijang kuning (Muntiacus atherodes) dan kijang muncak (Muntiacus muntjak). Hasil penelitian menunjukan tingkat kesejahteraan rusa sambar pada Taman Rusa Sibreh mendapatkan total nilai terbobot rata-rata 65,78%. Penerapan aspek bebas dari rasa lapar dan haus pada rusa sambar dinilai sudah cukup baik, namun masih ada kekurangan dalam indikator seperti kuantitas pakan yang kurang mencukupi dan pemberian pakan oleh pengunjung yang tidak terkontrol dan tidak ada peraturan khusus bagi pengunjung.Study of Welfare Level of Sambar Deer (Cervus unicolor) in Taman Rusa Sibreh, Aceh BesarAbstract. There are 40 types of deer species worldwide (Ariantiningsih, 2000), five of which are in Indonesia, namely the sambar deer (Cervus unicolor), bawean deer (Axis kuhlii), timor deer (Cervus timorensis), yellow deer (Muntiacus atherodes), and deer muncak (Muntiacus muntjak). The results showed that the welfare level of the Sambar Deer at the Sibreh Deer Park obtained a total weighted average value of 65.78%. The application of the free aspect of hunger and thirst in sambar deer is considered quite good, but there are still deficiencies in indicators such as insufficient feed quantity and uncontrolled feeding by visitors and no special regulations for visitors.

Abstract:

The identification of genes involved in cold adaptations of psychrotolerant bacteria Acidithiobacillus ferrivorans is important for biomining processes that take place at low temperatures like Andean mining installations in Peru. We have performed relative quantification RT-qPCR on candidate genes to have a role in adaptations at low temperature (5°C). The candidate genes analyzed were six: Two trehalose synthesis pathway genes, trehalose synthase (treS) and malto-oligosiltrehalose trehalohydrolase (treZ) showing no overexpression at 5°C. Two diguanylate cyclases genes related to exopolymer synthesis and biofilm formation (designated as dgc-I and dgc-II in this paper) were overexpressed at 21°C. The rusA and rusB genes involved in iron oxidation showed no significant change for rusA and no expression for rusB gene in any of both conditions. Genes rpoC, gyrB and alaS were validated as reference genes. These results show congruency with trancriptomics studies about gene expression of A. ferrivorans. Furthermore, the trehalose synthesis genes show no overexpression at low temperatures suggesting that other cold adaptation mechanisms are involved.

La anexión de Crimea por parte de la Federación Rusa en 2014 ha devuelto la centralidad al realismo político. Por un lado, la Federación Rusa es una potencia resurgente; por el otro, su declinante población plantea diversos problemas militares, económicos, fiscales y de seguridad nacional. Este artículo, cualitativo, sugiere la aproximación del realismo demográfico como explicación alternativa a la anexión de Crimea. Se argumenta que dicha anexión ayuda a solucionar diversos cuellos de botella que ponen en riesgo la consolidación de la Federación Rusa como potencia regional. La anexión de Crimea por parte de la Federación Rusa en 2014 ha devuelto la centralidad al realismo político. Por un lado, la Federación Rusa es una potencia resurgente; por el otro, su declinante población plantea diversos problemas militares, económicos, fiscales y de seguridad nacional. Este artículo, cualitativo, sugiere la aproximación del realismo demográfico como explicación alternativa a la anexión de Crimea. Se argumenta que dicha anexión ayuda a solucionar diversos cuellos de botella que ponen en riesgo la consolidación de la Federación Rusa como potencia regional. Daily activities are all activities carried out by animals daily starting from the morning out of the nest until late in the evening and back again to the nest. This study aims to determine the activity pattern of sambar deer (Rusa unicolor). This observation was carried out at the Ragunan zoo which was carried out in 3 stages, namely morning, afternoon and evening. This study observed the patterns of time use and space use observed in sambar deer with 5 age class categories, namely adult males, adult females, young males and young females. The results of the research obtained from the activity of the sambar deer in the morning, namely the allocation of time for daily activities in the morning for each different age class, the allocation of time for feeding, moving, and resting activities during the daytime period for each individual age class of the deer is different and the time allocation for daily activities in the afternoon for each age class is different. Most of the sambar deer in Ragunan prefer to be in the grass below the stands for their activities. Time allocation (time budget) for sambar deer in age class and sex is influenced by the time of activity (morning-afternoon-evening).

In the fall of 2014 the RUSA leadership embarked on a strategic planning process intended to position our organization for strength and growth over the next few years. In beginning of the process we first needed to confront a challenge: that RUSA—like many professional organizations and indeed many ALA divisions—has experienced declining membership since the economic downturn of 2008, which placed economic pressure on librarians and caused many to question whether to continue association memberships, and if so, how many associations our budgets would allow us to join. For many of us, the bottom line is that we must see value in our association memberships, and receive excellent products and services in return for our investment. Recognizing this, the strategic planning team asked what our members most value in RUSA, and how we can strengthen it while minimizing bureaucratic inefficiencies and eliminating activity that does not benefit our members.

It is my turn to welcome all new and returning members to RUSA. As we open the door on the new year this September, we find some interesting changes on our doorstep. While change is no stranger to our profession, perhaps some of the appeal of RUSA is the comfort we find in an association that does not change too much. Members enjoy established traditions and supportive, collegial networks that span our working lives. But, RUSA is an organic organization, so change and adaptation are part of the natural evolution of things. This year will be a year of adjustment and new beginnings. It will require patience when, not if, we encounter bumps in the road. The challenge before us is to manage the change while endeavoring to create forward momentum.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penggembalaan lepas ternak kuda yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat lokal di kawasan Tanjung Torong Padang, Nusa Tenggara Timur menjadi pesaing bagi rusa timor. Observasi lapangan dan wawancara dengan pemilik kuda dilakukan untuk menentukan distribusi kuda di habitat rusa timor. Preferensi pakan dari ternak kuda dan rusa timor dikumpulkan menggunakan identifikasi spesies dari kotoran dan dibandingkan dengan plot berukuran 1 x 1 m2 di daerah makan dari kedua hewan tersebut selama musim kering dan hujan pada 2014 dan 2015. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada indikasi yang jelas dari persaingan antara rusa timor dan penggembalaan liar kuda di kawasan Tanjung Torong Padang. Rusa timor dan kuda tidak terjadi tumpang tindih spasial dalam distribusi mereka di lokasi tersebut. Ternak kuda menempati savana perbukitan, sedangkan rusa lebih suka menempati savana dengan pohon rengit (Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth) dan lembah dengan vegetasi hutan tropis kering. Selain itu, rusa timor lebih menyukai makan semak dan dedaunan (browser), sementara kuda lebih menyukai rumput (grazer). This study aimed to determine whether the free-roaming horse grazing owned by local communities in Torong Padang Cape, East Nusa Tenggara become a competitor for timor deer. Field observations and interviews with horse owners were carried out to determine the distribution of horse in timor deer habitat. Food preference of both horse and timor deer were collected using species identification from feces and compared with 1 x 1 m2 plots at feeding areas of both animals during the dry and rainy seasons in 2014 and 2015. There is no clear indication of competition between timor deer and free-roaming horses in the Torong Padang Cape area.The deer and horse avoided overlapping spatially in their distribution in the Cape. The free-roaming horse mainly occupied hilly savanna, whereas timor deer preferred to occupy savanna with lebbek tree (Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth) and valleys with tropical dry forest vegetation. In addition, the timor deer prefer to feed shrubs and foliage (browser), while horses prefer grass (grazer). The presence of free-roaming horse in the Torong Padang Capearea does not affect negatively for the timor deer and its habitat.

RUSA is facing some challenges ahead. As I mentioned in my last column, RUSA membership is declining. One of the main impacts of the decline in membership is that we have a deficit budget. We are in the process of drafting some bylaws changes to integrate interest groups into RUSA and to give RUSA more flexibility for dues increases as needed. We want to strengthen our association, which is the professional home within ALA for those of us who work directly with our patrons, users, and learners. The last dues increase of $15 was in 2005, so it has been a long time since we have considered a dues increase. Of course, a dues increase brings the possibility that members will not renew because of financial constraints, but I firmly believe that RUSA is worth the money.

The American Library Association’s (ALA) fourth strategic direction—equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI)—is timely for many reasons given the current political environment in the United States and our country’s difficult history around issues of bias, discrimination, racism, and privilege. These issues have deeply impacted library users and library workers. The pursuit of this strategic initiative provides RUSA members with an opportunity for conversation about how considerations of diversity, equity, and inclusion impact reference and user services in libraries and how we can try to effect positive change. To frame the conversation, RUSA formed a working group to draft an aspirational statement of RUSA values pertaining to EDI in service to library users and RUSA members. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan maret 2021 selama 10 hari di penangkaran rusa sambar Kabupaten Lamandau dengan metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, dan metode scan sampling dengan jumlah sampel 12 rusa sambar dengan interval waktu 10 menit. Analisis kuantitatif sebagai perhitungan persentase, analisis deskriptif, dan uji kruskal wallis untuk menguji apa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antar kelompok variabel indevenden dan variabel dependen, dari hasil yang didapat dari tujuh (7) aktivitas rusa sambar yaitu aktivitas berjalan 10.37, istirahat 8.21, minum 12.65, makan 10.16, sosial (Grooming) 12.45, bermain sendiri 6.44, dan defekasi (BAB) 12.56. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa terdapat aktivitas rusa sambar melakukan aktivitas makan, aktivitas berjalan, aktivitas istirahat, aktivitas defekasi, aktivitas grooming, aktivitas minum, dan aktivitas bermain sendiri.

Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkah laku rusa Timor betina selama satu siklus estrus dan mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi mineral seng (Zn), Selenium (Se) dan Magnesium (Mg) terhadap tingkah laku rusa Timor betina selama siklus estrus. Materi yang digunakan adalah rusa Timor (Cervus timorensis) betina sebanyak 10 ekor, poel 2 dan BCS 2,5-3,25 dengan kriteria penampilan fisik sehat dan sudah pernah partus. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah T0 (kontrol) tanpa suplementasi mineral, dan T1 dengan suplementasi mineral. Parameter tingkah laku yang diamati adalah urinasi, following, kissing other female, walking around the fence, shouting, standing heat, makan dan minum. Data tingkah laku urinasi, following, kissing other female, walking around the fence, shouting, standing heat, makan dan minum dianalisis dengan uji Mann Whitney U-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi mineral tidak berpengaruh signifikan (P>0,05) terhadap shouting, sedangkan pada urinasi, following, kissing other female, walking around the fence, makan dan minum menunjukan perbedaan yang nyata (P<0,05). Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah selama satu siklus estrus rusa Timor menunjukkan tingkah laku urinasi, following, kissing other female, walking around the fence, shouting, makan dan minum serta suplementasi magnesium, seng dan selenium dapat mempengaruhi tingkah laku estrus rusa Timor betina. Abstract:

Timor deer (Rusa timorensis de Blainville 1822) known as java deers are native Indonesian fauna, mostly found ex situ. Deers in captivity can be an attraction object of tourism. The research was conducted from March to April 2013 at Dramaga Research Forest, Situ Gede Village, Bogor City. Dramaga research forest was build on 1956 as an arboretum with 127 tree species. The purpose of this research was to identify deer feed given by visitors in captivity, changes in behavior and consumption patterns. The feed given by visitors to deer was about 89% convolvulus, 8% carrots, 2% leaves, and 1% wild grasses. The feed meets the basic needs of a deer with convolvulus containing 8,93% protein and carrots containing 19,99% protein. The results of statistical test by chi-square indicate that no real influence on the behavior and consumption patterns of the deers in captivity, but nominally show some changes decrease of persentation. Consumption pattern and social behaviour increased, while resting, locomotion, and ruminational behaviours decreased. AbstrakRusa timor (Rusa timorensis de Blainville 1822) merupakan rusa asli Indonesia yang populasinya banyak ditemukan di luar habitat aslinya, khususnya di penangkaran. Rusa dapat menjadi daya tarik wisata di penangkaran, karena tampilannya yang menarik. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai April 2013 di Hutan Penelitian (HP) Dramaga, Kelurahan Situ Gede, Kecamatan Bogor Barat, Kota Bogor. Hutan Penelitian Dramaga dibangun tahun 1956 dengan tujuan sebagai koleksi tanaman dengan 127 jenis pohon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi pakan rusa yang diberikan pengunjung di penangkaran Dramaga, perubahan perilaku dan pola konsumsi. Metode pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan langsung di lapang dengan focal animal sampling dan metode pengambilan data one-zero sampling terhadap perilaku dan pola konsumsi rusa, wawancara dengan pengunjung serta studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis pakan yang diberikan oleh pengunjung meliputi 89% kangkung, 8% wortel, 2% daun-daun, dan 1% rumput lapang. Jenis pakan memiliki nilai gizi yang dapat mencukupi kebutuhan rusa di penangkaran. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan oleh pengunjung tidak berpengaruh terhadap perubahan perilaku dan pola konsumsi harian rusa. Tetapi secara nominal menunjukkan adanya perubahan perilaku makan dan sosial yang meningkat, perilaku istirahat, lokomosi, dan mamah biak yang menurun. Perubahan tersebut berpengaruh pada kegiatan biologis rusa, dan diduga dapat mengganggu kesehatan.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi proses hidrolisis protein daging rusa Sambar (Rusa unicolor) sebagai tahap awal untuk menghasilkan peptida bioaktif. Enzim proteolitik yang digunakan yaitu enzim pepsin dan tripsin. Proses hidrolisis dievaluasi menggunakan parameter protein terlarut, dan Degree of Hydrolysis (DH). Konsentrasi protein terlarut ditentukan dengan metode Biuret. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi protein terlarut (mg/ml) menggunakan Biuret sebelum proses hidrolisis adalah 8,33 Â± 0,10, setelah hidrolisis pepsin adalah sebesar 8,33 Â± 0,10 dan setelah hidrolisis trypsin adalah 7,89 Â± 0,12. Hasil analsis proksimat menunjukkan bahwa daging rusa Sambar memiliki kandungan air 73,25%, protein sebesar 22,49%, abu 2,35% dan lemak 3,35%. Nilai pH daging rusa Sambar adalah 7,8, setelah hidrolisis pepsin dan tripsin berturut-turut adalah sebesar 2,4 dan 6,5. Degree of Hydrolysis daging rusa Sambar yang telah dihidrolisis oleh pepsin adalah sebesar 29% dan oleh trypsin adalah sebesar 23 %. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa hidrolisis menggunakan pepsin dan trypsin berjalan secara optimal, yang dibuktikan dengan peningkatan kadar protein terlarut. Proses hidrolisis menggunakan pepsin lebih efektif dibandingkan hidrolisis menggunakan trypsin.

Abstract:

The built environment relates to the important value of an environment as part of the learning process. Collective learning refers to the process of knowledge creation that continue through the association movement among human actors and technical object. By taking the case of Rumah Sahabat (RuSa) program, this paper maps and identifies the role of built environment in collective learning using Actor-Network Theory (ANT) approach. RuSa is a program of Salman ITB mosque to train students as cadres by facilitating them rent houses in the nearby settlement. Students, in turn, have to serve and deliver Islamic values to the local communities. The assembly of RuSa program is mapped into three moments: RuSa trainees teach Quran to the children in the local mosque; children bring home the homework and discuss them with their parents; RuSa trainees and local citizens developed the “Reading Terrace” in community main hall. The research result shows that the socio-technical approach can guide the development of built environment to improve and sustain the learning since it depends on human and non-human actors involved.

Abstract:

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh mineral terhadapkadar NaCl dan pH (potential of Hydrogen) lendir serviks. Manfaat dari penelitian adalah memberikan informasi kepada penanagkar untuk mengetahui tanda-tanda rusa birahi melalui profil pH dan kadar NaCl lendir serviks dan pentingnya suplementasi mineral terhadap reproduksi betina rusa Timor. Materi yang digunakan adalah 10 ekor rusa yang memiliki BCS (Body Condition Score) 2,5–3,25, poel 2 serta pernah melahirkan dan sehat secara fisik. Perlakuan yang diberikan berupa suplementasi mineral (Mg, Zn dan Se) dalam bentuk mineral blok (T1) dan kontrol (T0) selama 8 minggu, kemudian di sinkronisasi spon MPA selama 16 hari. Sampel lendir serviks diambil pada jam ke-0, 24, 72, 84, 96, 108, 120 dan 144 setelah pelepasan spon. Parameter yang diamati meliputi kadar NaCl danpH lendir serviks.Analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik SPSS uji T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa(P>0,05) tidak ada perbedaan nyata suplementasi mineral (Mg, Zn dan Se) terhadap kadar NaCl dan pH lendir serviks rusa Timor betina selama siklus estrus. Kata kunci: suplementasi mineral, lendir serviks, Rusa Timor, pH, NaCl.

This research aims to understand the principles of democracy enforcement in the implementation of regional autonomy, to promote and to revitalize the South Sulawesi socio-cultural values relating to the issue of democracy in the era of regional autonomy, the development of the region potency and the diversity of community to achieve regional and national progress. South Sulawesi since the empire era has posessed socio-cultural values that are closely related to the principles of democracy enforcement. The Socio-cultural values are potential for the regional development, especially in the era of regional autonomy. Social values, one of them are embedded in the democracy principles and foundations in South Sulawesi as the legal basis for organizing the kingdom in South Sulawesi: “rusa’ taro datu, ten rusa’ taro ade’, rusa’ taro ade’ ten rusa’ taro anang, rusa’ anang ten rusa’ taro tomaegae”.means that the decision of datu / king can be canceled by ade ' (council) but the decision of ade' can not be canceled by the king / datu, the decision of ade' can be canceled by public figures, but the willingness of public figures can not be canceled by public figures, the willingness of public figures can be canceled by the society, but the willingness of the society can not be canceled by public figures. AbstractDuring winter in southern Queensland, eight rusa deer stags aged 4 years were given ad libitum lucerne (Medicago sativa) hay and confined in individual metabolism pens for 26 days. Stags ate 2·04 kg dry matter (DM) per day and drank 6·4 kg water per day, while the drinking water: food DM ratio was 3·3 l/kg. In experiment 2, seven rusa stags were given ad libitum lucerne hay or oaten (Avena spp.) hay with or without barley grain supplementation (200 g/day) for 56 days (four periods). This experiment was conducted from 26 July to 19 September 2001, when the stags were exhibiting the behaviour characteristic of the rut. Rusa stags ate 1·19 and 1·17 kg DM per day of lucerne and oaten hay respectively. Rusa stags given oaten hay drank slightly more water than those that received lucerne hay (5·34 and 4·47 kg/day, respectively). The drinking water: food DM ratios were 3·81 and 4·67 kg/kg for lucerne and oaten hay, respectively. Barley grain supplementation (200 g/day) had no influence on total food or water intakes of the rusa stags.

Abstract. Terong Village, in Belitung Regency's Sijuk District, has potential to enhance tourism activities. The development of the Aik Rusa' Berehun tourist attraction, which exploits previously abandoned tin mine land to become a unique tourist destination with increased potential value, is one of Terong Village's possible uses. The Aik Rusa' Berehun community group, as well as the local community of Terong Village, collaborated on the establishment of this attraction. The purpose of this study is to determine the growth of tourism components such as Attraction, Amenity, Accessibility, and Ancilliary, or the 4A component, in the tourist destination of Aik Rusa' Berehun, as well as its linkage with pre-existing tourist sites. Observations and identification of the deficiency were carried out in this research. Observations and identification of the Aik Rusa' Berehun Tourism Destination's development conditions were carried out in this study based on field observations. This study was supported by a qualitative technique based on exploratory research. Observation, interviews, and documentation are used to obtain primary data. Purposive sampling was employed in conjunction with in-depth interviews with key informants, such as stakeholders. Literature studies utilize secondary data collection approaches. Descriptive analysis was used to conduct the investigation. Data compilation, data reduction, and the creation of study outcomes narratives are all examples of data processing. The development of Aik Rusa' Berehun Tourism Destinations is positive, as evidenced by the available 4A components that can be used to properly support tourist activities so that visitors can feel safe and comfortable while enjoying existing tourist attractions, though some aspects still require improvement. The Aik Rusa' Berehun tourist destination, based on its proximity to other tourist sites, has emerged as a new tourist destination in Terong Village, as well as a supporting tourist destination for nearby tourist locations. Abstrak. Desa Terong terletak di Kecamatan Sijuk, Kabupaten Belitung memiliki potensi-potensi yang dapat dikembangkan untuk mendukung kegiatan pariwisata. Salah satu pemanfaatan potensi Desa Terong yaitu melalui pengembangan destinasi wisata Aik Rusa’ Berehun yang memanfaatkan kolong bekas tambang timah yang sebelumnya terbengkalai menjadi destinasi wisata yang unik dan lebih memiliki nilai potensial. Pengembangan destinasi ini dilakukan dengan melibatkan kelompok masyarakat Aik Rusa’ Berehun dan juga mengikutsertakan masyarakat lokal Desa Terong. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengembangan komponen wisata yang terdiri dari Attraction, Amenity, Accessibility, Ancilliary atau biasa disingkat menjadi komponen 4A di destinasi wisata Aik Rusa’ Berehun serta konektivitasnya dengan destinasi wisata sekitar yang sudah ada sebelumnya. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengamatan dan identifikasi mengenai kondisi pengembangan Destinasi Wisata Aik Rusa’ Berehun berdasarkan hasil pengamatan di lapangan. Untuk mendukung penelitian ini digunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif menggunakan jenis penelitian exploratif (Exploratory Research). Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan dengan observasi (pengamatan), interview (wawancara), dan dokumentasi. Teknik sampling menggunakan purposive sampling yaitu dilakukan wawancara mendalam kepada informan kunci yaitu para pemegang kepentingan. Teknik pengumpulan data sekunder dilakukan dengan studi literatur. Analisis dilakukan dengan analisis deskriptif. Pengolahan data dilakukan dalam bentuk kompilasi data, reduksi data, dan penyusunan narasi hasil penelitian. Perkembangan Destinasi Wisata Aik Rusa’ Berehun sudah baik dapat diidentifikasi dari komponen 4A yang tersedia sudah bisa digunakan untuk menunjang kegiatan wisatawan dengan baik sehingga wisatawan yang berkunjung dapat merasa nyaman dan aman serta menikmati objek wisata yang ada meskipun di beberapa aspek masih butuh pembenahan. Dilihat dari konektivitas dengan destinasi wisata lain yang ada di sekitar, destinasi wisata Aik Rusa’ Berehun menjadi sebuah destinasi wisata baru di Desa Terong sekaligus berfungsi sebagai destinasi wisata pendukung bagi destinasi wisata sekitar.

Abstract:

Genetic analysis from three species of Indonesia Cervidae (sambar deer, Cervus unicolor; rusa deer, Cervus timorensis; and Bawean deer, Axis kuhlii) was conducted to analyze their relationship. Tissues and blood from twelve sambar deer, one rusa deer and three Bawean deer were collected and analyzed for 12SrRNA using Primer forward (L1091) and reverse (H1478). The results indicated the amplication of mtDNA were 389 base nucleotide. There were 22 polimorphic sites, which were dominated by transition and gave 9 haplotypes that were 5 in sambar deer, 1 in rusa deer and 3 in Bawean deer.

Aunque ha habido un foco internacional considerable en las enérgicas políticas exteriores rusas en Ucrania y el Cáucaso meridional, la creciente influencia de Moscú en los antiguos estados soviéticos de Asia Central ha recibido mucha menos atención. El cambio en la política tras 2010 ha sido especialmente exitoso en el desarrollo de una relación mucho más profunda de Rusia con Kirguistán, un estado que previamente había desarrollado una política exterior moderadamente pro-occidental y que juega un papel estratégico clave en la región. Kirguistán ha rebajado los lazos políticos y de seguridad con los estados occidentales, se ha unido a la Unión Económica Euroasiática (UEE) dirigida por Rusia y ha desarrollado vínculos de seguridad más estrechos en la Organización del Tratado de Seguridad Colectiva (OTSC). Este artículo analiza estos cambios en la política y califica la nueva actitud rusa como «hegemónica», señalando tanto el dominio militar, político y económico ruso en la relación como el considerable apoyo popular en Kirguistán para tener vínculos más estrechos con Moscú. La política rusa ha confiado en un acercamiento integrado a la política exterior que incluye iniciativas en los campos de seguridad, economía y política, así como formas de «soft power» e influencia cultural. El caso de Kirguistán sugiere que estudiar la política rusa dentro del marco de la hegemonía es un modo útil de analizar tanto el potencial de tener una mayor influencia como las considerables restricciones que se encuentran los responsables de las políticas rusos en el área de Eurasia.

Feed Plant Availability and Carrying Capacity of Rusa timorensis deBlainville, 1822 at Dramaga Research Forest Area. The research was conducted to know potenstial feed plant availability and carrying capacity at Dramaga Research Forest Area. Data was collected by measuring feed plant productivity of 45 plots with size 1 m x 1 m, and consumption level of four rusa deer (Rusa timorensis de Blainville, 1822). The result showed that the highest feed plant productivity was 17,362.09 kg/ha/year, and the lowest was 502.22 kg/ha/year. Light intensity correlation (y. lux) with dry weight production in 20 days (x. kg/ha), is y = 4.64 x -15.46 (r = 0.95). Feed plant availability was 121,607.01 kg/year, while consupmtion level based on fresh weight was 6,4 kg/individual/day or 2,336 kg/individual/year. Carrying capacity on observation area (11.9 ha) was 52 individual/year or 3.13 individual/ha/year. AbstrakPenelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui ketersediaan hijauan pakan potensial serta daya dukung kawasan Hutan Penelitian Dramaga sebagai sumber pakan rusa timor (Rusa timorensis de Blainville, 1822) di penangkaran. Pengukuran produktivitas hijauan pakan dilakukan dalam 45 plot contoh berukuran 1 m x 1 m, serta pengamatan tingkat konsumsi pakan terhadap empat individu rusa timor (R. timorensis) yang mewakili jantan, betina, kelas umur anak dan dewasa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produktivitas bobot basah hijauan pakan rusa timor (R. timorensis) di Hutan Penelitian Dramaga tertinggi adalah 17.362,09 kg/ha/tahun dan yang terendah sebesar 502,22 kg/ ha/tahun. Korelasi produktivitas hijauan dengan intensitas cahaya (y, lux) dengan produktivitas bobot kering dalam 20 hari (x, kg/ha) adalah y = 4,64 x -15,46 (r = 0,95). Ketersediaan pakan rata-rata pada Hutan Penelitian Dramaga sebesar 121.607,01 kg/tahun sedangkan tingkat konsumsi pakan rusa timor (R. timorensis) berdasarkan bobot basah pakan adalah 6,4 kg/individu/hari atau 2.336 kg/individu/tahun. Pada areal yang diamati seluas 11,9 ha maka daya dukung habitat adalah 52 individu/tahun atau rata-rata sebesar 3,13 individu/ha/tahun.
