Abstract:
AbstractRumours have become part of our daily lives, and their spread has a negative impact on a variety of human affairs. Therefore, how to control the spread of rumours is an important topic. In this paper, we extend the classic Maki–Thompson model from a deterministic framework to a stochastic framework with a forgetting mechanism, because real-world person-to-person communications are inevitably affected by random factors. By constructing suitable stochastic Lyapunov functions, we show that the asymptotic behaviour of the stochastic rumour model is governed by the basic reproductive number. If this number is less than one, then the solution of the stochastic rumour model oscillates around the rumour-free equilibrium under extra mild conditions, indicating the extinction of the rumour with a probability of one. Otherwise, the solution always fluctuates around the endemic equilibrium under certain parametric restrictions, implying that the rumour will continually persist. In addition, we discuss a possible intervention strategy that stops the spread of rumours by strengthening the intensity of white noise, which is very different from the deterministic rumour model without white noise. Also, numerical simulations are conducted to support our analytical results.

Abstract:
Rumors are information that spreads widely without any confirmation of truth and definite facts. One of the media that is used in rumors spreading is social media. The negative impact raised by rumors spreading through social media is the disruption of social stability, economic systems, and politics. The research purpose is to analyze the rumor spreading model on social media. This research is basic research (theoretical) using descriptive methods. The analytical results are obtained of a rumor-free equilibrium point and a rumor spread equilibrium point, each of which is asymptotic stable. The basic reproduction number obtained by the rumor will spread if the rate of movement of the population of individual who never hear the rumor or counter-rumor increases and became a individual who have been exposed to the rumor or counter-rumor.

Abstract:
The study of the spreading of a rumor is significantly important to obtain scientific information and better strategies in reducing its negative impact. Twitter has become a medium for spreading rumors or hoaxes spatially and chronologically because it has a unique community structure. This study demonstrates the model of spreading rumors by considering credibility, correlation, and mass classification based on personality is discussed. The behavior of a model solution around equilibrium points is investigated with the Jacobian matrices. The stability also corresponds to a threshold number indicating the rumor fades away or continues to spread in the population. The analytical results are confirmed by actual data from Twitter in Indonesia with #SahkanRUUPKS. The simulation results show that the free rumor equilibrium point is stable and the threshold number is less than 1. Our study shows that the number of spreaders does not increase and the #SahkanRUUPKS rumor will vanish.

Abstract:
The rumor-free equilibrium state and rumor-endemic equilibrium state are two symmetric descriptions of the status of a system. The constant spreading of rumors would affect the smooth operation of emergency management procedures and cause unnecessary social and economic loss. To reduce the negative effect of rumor propagation, in this paper, we introduce a compartmental model of rumor propagation, which considers the rumor refutation of public and information feedback. By deriving mean-field equations that describe the dynamics of the model, we use analytical and numerical solutions of these equations to investigate the threshold and dynamics of the model in both the closed system and open system. The results imply that the initial equilibrium point is not stable and there exists a rumor-free equilibrium point; in the open system, there exists a threshold beyond which rumors can spread; the stability of the initial equilibrium point is related to the threshold R0 = (φ*α)/μ, and there exists a rumor-endemic equilibrium point. The development process of rumor propagation can be divided into four stages: latent period, progressive period, intense period, and recession period. Under the influence of population, rumor spreading can exceed the threshold readily because the migration rate μ is usually less than the proportion of ignorants without critical ability φ, and the rumor spreading process in an open system presents a fluctuating development, the rumor would not disappear in this autonomous system. Based on the analysis, we propose some measures, such as providing open and efficient information queries and exchange platforms, etc.

Abstract:
The spread of rumors on complex networks has attracted wide attention in the field of management. In this paper, the generalized rumor spreading model is modified to take into account the vital of the spreader and the tie strength for the pairwise contacts between nodes in complex networks at degree-dependent spreading rate. Concretely, we introduce the infectivity exponent [Formula: see text], and the degree influenced real exponent [Formula: see text] into the analytical rumor spreading model. Rumor infectivity, [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text], defines that each spreader node may contact [Formula: see text] neighbors within one time step. The tie strength between two nodes with degrees [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are measured by [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] is the degree influenced real exponent which depends on the type of complex networks and [Formula: see text] is a positive quantity. We use a tuning parameter [Formula: see text] to combine both the effect of the vital nodes and the strength of connectivity between nodes. We use analytical and numerical solutions to examine the threshold behavior and dynamics of the model on several models of social network. It was found that the infectivity exponent [Formula: see text], the degree influenced real exponent [Formula: see text] and tuning parameter [Formula: see text] affect the rumor threshold, one can adjust the parameters to control the rumor threshold which is absent for the standard rumor spreading model.

Abstract:
With the development of social media, social communication has changed. While this facilitates people’s communication and access to information, it also provides an ideal platform for spreading rumors. In normal or critical situations, rumors can affect people’s judgment and even endanger social security. However, natural language is high-dimensional and sparse, and the same rumor may be expressed in hundreds of ways on social media. As such, the robustness and generalization of the current rumor detection model are in question. We proposed a novel hierarchical adversarial training method for rumor detection (HAT4RD) on social media. Specifically, HAT4RD is based on gradient ascent by adding adversarial perturbations to the embedding layers of post-level and event-level modules to deceive the detector. At the same time, the detector uses stochastic gradient descent to minimize the adversarial risk to learn a more robust model. In this way, the post-level and event-level sample spaces are enhanced, and we verified the robustness of our model under a variety of adversarial attacks. Moreover, visual experiments indicate that the proposed model drifts into an area with a flat loss landscape, thereby, leading to better generalization. We evaluate our proposed method on three public rumor datasets from two commonly used social platforms (Twitter and Weibo). Our experimental results demonstrate that our model achieved better results compared with the state-of-the-art methods.

Abstract:
Vaccination is the most promising strategy to counter the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Vaccine hesitancy is a serious global phenomenon, and therefore the aim of this cross-sectional study was to explore the effect of educational background, work field, and social media on attitudes towards vaccination in Jordan. We compared between medical personnel who were in direct contact with patients and non-medical individuals at Jordan University Hospital in terms of demographics, knowledge about COVID-19 vaccines, rumors received via social media, their trust in these vaccines, and the encouraging factors for vaccination. 646 individuals were enrolled in this study, of which 287 (44.4%) were from medical field, and 359 (55.6%) from non-medical field. 226 (35%) were planning to take the vaccine once available, with a positive response from 131 (45.6%) medical field workers, compared to 94 (26.2%) non-medical individuals (p < 0.001). The social media rumor that was believed the most was the unsafety of these vaccines (n = 283; 43.8%). Only 163 (56.8%) of medical persons did not believe any of the circulated rumors, compared to 126 (35.1%) of non-medical persons (p < 0.001). The effect of medical personnel advice (OR = 0.83; 95% CI = 0.70 to 0.98; p = 0.026) and social media (OR = 1.21; 95% CI = 1.04 to 1.41; p = 0.012) were significantly associated with the willingness to take COVID-19 vaccine once available. In conclusion, medical personnel and social media play a crucial role in increasing the society’s inclination towards vaccination by providing the community with updated evidence-based information about COVID-19 vaccines as an efficient medical countermeasure and by correcting the previously spread misinformation.

Abstract:
No one in the world does not know what Corona is as a global pandemic, which the Secretary-General of the WHO has declared as ‘the enemy of humanity’. Yes, it is the enemy of humanity; the whole humans rose up to prevent it through several aspects. We are – as lawmen – responsible for the legal sides. All of us have become so miserable that many sciences are terrified of rumors and false news. The real news leaves pain in the souls, so what about that are false, whether it was broadcast or transmitted with intent or unintentionally The main objective of this article is to examine the Jordanian legislator attitude in regard of social media rumors during Corona pandemic (COVID19), in comparative to the Chinese legislator. The study shows that the opportunity to punish rumors at the time of the pandemic may be unavailable or weak and not coherent in Jordanian laws in comparison with other legislations, especially in Chinese laws. The study will also show if rumors were included in relative International treaties. The In respect to the methodology of this article, the author followed the descriptive and analytical approaches of the related Jordanian Penal laws in comparative with the Chinese Regulations in cybercrimes, by explaining the extent to which rumor crimes is punished in Jordan according to legal methods of analysis in comparative to the Chinese legal attitude.

Abstract:
Rumour spreading is a ubiquitous phenomenon in social and technological networks. Traditional models consider that the rumour is propagated by pairwise interactions between spreaders and ignorants. Only spreaders are active and may become stiflers after contacting spreaders or stiflers. Here we propose a competition-like model in which spreaders try to transmit an information, while stiflers are also active and try to scotch it. We study the influence of transmission/scotching rates and initial conditions on the qualitative behaviour of the process. An analytical treatment based on the theory of convergence of density-dependent Markov chains is developed to analyse how the final proportion of ignorants behaves asymptotically in a finite homogeneously mixing population. We perform Monte Carlo simulations in random graphs and scale-free networks and verify that the results obtained for homogeneously mixing populations can be approximated for random graphs, but are not suitable for scale-free networks. Furthermore, regarding the process on a heterogeneous mixing population, we obtain a set of differential equations that describes the time evolution of the probability that an individual is in each state. Our model can also be applied for studying systems in which informed agents try to stop the rumour propagation, or for describing related susceptible–infected–recovered systems. In addition, our results can be considered to develop optimal information dissemination strategies and approaches to control rumour propagation.

Abstract In the aftermath of 9/11, with respect to the US-led invasion of Afghanistan, the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) in Pakistan have been the site of immense violence and destruction, including from US drone attacks, ground military operations by the Pakistan Army, and retaliatory attacks by different factions of Taliban fighters. Using uncertainty as an analytic and ethnographic concept, this article traces the social life of the rumors, conspiracy theories, and stories that float around this violence. It draws attention to their multiple and often contradictory effects: rumors simultaneously breed fear and confusion, help forge intimacy, and provide certainty and coherence. Rather than subvert power relations or simply critique the powerful, I suggest that rumors and conspiracy theories provide the means through which tribal Pashtuns live and make their way in a social world in which they remain unequal, but coeval, participants.

Some orientalists have cast doubts upon the Holy Quran stating that the book has been distorted (it has been subject to Tahrif). Sometimes, these orientalists refer to some incorrect information to justify this rumor. One of those people is the German orientalist, Reiner Bruner. In this study, Bruner's viewpoints on both Shiite and Sunnites’ beliefs in the 20th century are discussed. In this study, Bruner’s viewpoints on the distortion of Quran are briefly analyzed and criticized. The method of this study is descriptive-analytical. Furthermore, based on authentic documents, this study responds Bruner's claims. In some of his works, Bruner has attributed the rumor of distortion to some early Shiite scholars. This article confirms that most Shiite scholars including the earliest and the most recent ones do not accept the distortion of Holy Quran. Most Shiite scholars believe that Quran is pure from any kind of distortion including additions or omissions and they refer to the verses of the Quran, the narratives of the Innocent Imams (Hadith) and the words of some greate Shiite scholars.

One of the professions in the marine sector that is mostly occupied by people living in coastal areas is seaweed cultivation. Seaweed is one of the marine product commodities with great potential to be developed in Indonesia because it has high economic value. One of the areas that are included as producers of Eucheuma Cottonii seaweed is Nunukan Island, which is located in Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan Province. The main factor that determines success in seaweed cultivation activities is the selection of land locations. Errors in site selection can lead to crop failure and low quality of the seaweed produced. The purpose of this study is to create a decision support system to facilitate and assist the community in selecting the best location for seaweed cultivation quickly and precisely according to the criteria using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to calculate the criteria weights and the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method for performing alternative ratings. The criteria used were 7, namely depth, pH, current speed, brightness, temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen, while alternative data were 11 points of seaweed cultivation locations on Nunukan Island. Based on the results of the implementation of the two methods, recommendations for two locations for seaweed cultivation are Sei Banjar I and Sei Banjar II with the same preference value of 0.937 which is the highest value compared to other alternatives.

Abstract:
Cyberbullying is currently considered as a widespread problem among children and adolescents; in particular, the risks of cyberbullying have recently been examined. The empirical analyses of the present work are based on data from a German longitudinal study. The self-reports of adolescents from Dortmund and Nuremberg on both cyberbullying and individual and contextual characteristics were taken into account. The two-wave panel encompasses N = 871 adolescents (44.5% male); the average age was M = 15.1 years (SD = 0.83) at t1. Data on cyberbullying refer to sending insults or threats to others via the Internet, spreading rumours or talking badly about others via the Internet, and sending private e-mails, photos or similar from others in order to embarrass or ridicule the persons concerned. Other characteristics relate to single aspects of psychopathy (egocentric egotism, low self-control, empathy deficits), acceptance of violence, and delinquent peers. The path analytical findings illustrate the predictive relationships between both individual and contextual risks and cyberbullying in adolescence. The empirical results are discussed, among others, from the perspective of developmental and life-course criminology.

Students' low interest in learning is influenced by several factors, both internal and external factors. The attitude of the teacher in teaching is one of the external factors that influence students' interest in learning. Teachers in the classroom must always pay attention to things that can foster student interest in learning, especially pay attention to the problem of attitude, because the figure of a teacher will not be separated from the views and assessments of students. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between students' perceptions of teacher attitudes and student interest in learning in grades IV-V during online learning at SDN 1 Rumbuk Timur, East Lombok. This type of research is correlation analytic with cross sectional design. The research subjects were students in grades IV-V. The sample in this study amounted to 73 students. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire on student perceptions about teacher attitudes and learning interest that had been carried out by expert judgment with a value of 0.85. Bivariate analysis using chi-square test. Student perceptions in the good category were 48 people (65,8%), interest in learning in the good category were 47 people (64,4%). The results of the bivariate analysis obtained a p-value of 0,000 (<0,05). Abstract:
The effects of internet use bring with it many negative aspects linked to online fake news in Indonesia. Indonesia's fight against the spread of online fake news has been going on for many years. However, in 2017, the country experienced the biggest challenges in the bid to battle and resolve the rise of post-truth politics in the country. In addition, the spread of fake news in Islam is prohibited and perspectives from Islamic law equally discouraged the same. There is no harm in making gossip focused on sharing real experiences and emotions but Islam forbids any information being made with the intention of spreading rumors or falsehood. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to discuss online fake news based on Indonesia Law and Islamic Perfectives. The study conducts descriptive analytical literature review methods without using a basic assumption or proposition. Also, the literature used by the author for data collection includes primary and secondary sources from previous studies, such as publications, reference books, online news verification; and ayahs from Qur’an & Hadith that are centered on Indonesia Cyber Crime Law Settings. Cybercriminal offense governed in Law No. 11 Year 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions (UUITE) relating to online fake news item number one: criminal offenses involved in illegal activities, such as: distribution or propagation, transmission, unavailability of illegal content, including: ethics (Article 27[1] UUITE), gambling (Article 27 [2] UUITE); disrespect or defamation (Article 27 [3] UUITE); outrage or threats (Article 27 [4] UUITE), hoax manipulating and damaging customers (Article 28 [1] UUITE); creates a sense of ethnic hostility-based bigotry (Article 28 [2] UUITE). Equally, online fake news is also not allowed in Islam and that is evident in some ayahs stated in the Qur’an, which among are: Qur’an (49:6) & (24:15). Since online fake news has to do with spreading lie, falsehood, rumors and gossips, Islam condemns all kinds of deceit. Therefore, spreading rumors should not be treated as trivial or casual nor be encouraged as a form entertainment due to the high concerns it can raise and its far-reaching implications.

Abstract:
The Chinese government has launched a digital health code system to detect people potentially exposed to the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) disease and to curb its spread. Citizens are required to show the health code on their smartphones when using public transport. However, many seniors are not allowed to use public transport due to their difficulties in obtaining health codes, leading to widespread debates about these unfair events. Traditionally, public perceptions and attitudes toward such unfair events are investigated using analytical methods based on interviews or questionnaires. This study crawled seven-month messages from Sina Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, and developed a hybrid approach integrating term-frequency–inverse-document-frequency, latent Dirichlet allocation, and sentiment classification. Results indicate that a rumor about the unfair treatment of elderly travelers triggered public concerns. Primary subjects of concern were the status quo of elderly travelers, the provision of transport services, and unfair event descriptions. Following the government’s responses, people still had negative attitudes toward transport services, while they became more positive about the status quo of elderly travelers. These findings will guide government authorities to explore new forms of automated social control and to improve transport policies in terms of equity and fairness in future pandemics.

Abstract:
COVID-19 has had a major impact on health, economic, social, and industrial activities. It has disrupted supply chain management and affected the movement of essential supplies to a large extent. This study aims to identify and evaluate the challenges hampering sustainable humanitarian supply chain management (SHSCM). Twenty critical challenges to SHSCM are identified using a comprehensive literature review, and three strategies were developed. The challenges and strategies were verified using expert input. The challenges were evaluated using the neutrosophic analytic hierarchical process (AHP) method. The neutrosophic TODIM (an acronym in Portuguese for interactive multicriteria decision making) method was then used to select the best strategy. The findings reveal that facility location problems, short lead times for emergency supplies, spread of rumors, rapid emergence of new clusters, and doubt concerning the available remedy are five critical challenges in SHSCM during COVID-19. Public–private partnerships are identified as the best strategy in SHSCM. Finally, this paper discusses the implications to sustainable development goals in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era.

This paper is concerned with examining Imam Al-Tirmidhi’s action in accepting and refuting the narrations, in addition to weighting the differences by relying on the strengthening evidence of one aspect over the other; and other things that we mentioned in the research through selected examples from The Book of Purification “Ettahara”. What prompted us to write on this subject was what was rumoured about Imam al-Tirmidhi that he was lenient regarding discrediting and endorsement and correcting and weakening. And then the need for specialists to clarify this issue. This research used the critical analytical approach, through which we reached some results, the most important of which are: that Imam Al-Tirmidhi relied on various evidence in weighing the differences and in accepting and rejecting. As for the issue of leniency with which al-Tirmidhi was accused, we did not find any mention of it among the imams who preceded him.

Seaweed is among fishery commodities with great potential economy prospect. Southeast Maluku District is one of the main producers in Eastern region of Indonesia. Despite the high production since 2012, the number of farmers and the product has declined due to inadequate supply chain coordination and information dissemination among members. Therefore, this study aimed to mitigate the assymetric information in the region using the house of risk (HOR) to identify the risks to be addressed, and also provide response on the source of supply chain risk. Furthermore, Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) with fuzzy approach was used to determine the major factor, and then choose the best alternative to mitigate asymmetric information in the supply chain. Results showed there were five factors that contributed 70% risks. The results also indicated that dependence on local distributor was a factor that had to be prioritized and addressed. In addition, to mitigate the operational risks, findings showed it is necessary to establish seaweed farmers forum, which is the best approach based on the cost and effectiveness. This study also stated that local ,government of Southeast Maluku District was the main actor that helps to overcome the risks and asymmetric information problem. Therefore, the best alternative was to form an information center for seaweed cultivation, which will provide the knowledge of prices and potential buyer outside the region.

Abstract:
Abstract Background The Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance (CHAMPS) network aims to generate reliable data on the causes of death among children aged <5 years using all available information, including minimally invasive tissue sampling (MITS). The sensitive nature of MITS inevitably evokes religious, cultural, and ethical questions influencing the feasibility and sustainability of CHAMPS. Methods Due to limited behavioral studies related to child MITS, we developed an innovative qualitative methodology to determine the barriers, facilitators, and other factors that affect the implementation and sustainability of CHAMPS surveillance across 7 diverse locations in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. We employed a multimethod grounded theory approach and analytical structure based on culturally specific conceptual frameworks. The methodology guided data interpretation and collective analyses confirming how to define dimensions of CHAMPS feasibility within the cultural context of each site while reducing subjectivity and bias in the process of interpretation and reporting. Results Findings showed that the approach to gain consent to conduct the MITS procedure involves religious factors associated with timing of burial, use of certain terminology, and methods of transporting the body. Community misperceptions and uncertainties resulted in rumor surveillance and consistency in information sharing. Religious pronouncements, recognition of health priorities, attention to pregnancy, and advancement of child health facilitated community acceptability. Conclusions These findings helped formulate program priorities, guided site-specific adaptations in surveillance procedures, and verified inferences drawn from CHAMPS epidemiological and formative research data. Results informed appropriate community sensitization and engagement activities for introducing and sustaining mortality surveillance, including MITS.

Abstract:
One strategic decision from Indonesian government in order to slow the rate of population growth is national family planning (FP) program. One common problem regarding contraceptives in the community is the presence of negative perception regarding contraceptives. Numerous growing rumors or believes in the community often produces fear regarding contraceptives usage. This research aimed to analyze and study the influence of physical and socio-cultural environments on the access of family planning service in poor couples of reproductive age in Sabu Raijua Regency. This was an analytic observational study using mixed method. The results of quantitative analysis showed that factors which affect the access of FP service in poor couples of reproductive age were believe (p-value of 0.046), significant others (p-value of 0.014), and transportation (p-value of 0.0001). Meanwhile, tradition did not have significant effect (p-value of 1.000). From the results of qualitative analysis, several believes were found in the people of Sabu Raijua Regency, namely: FP could cause disease, FP could cause infertility, ancestor’s prohibition, and local believes (Jingitiu). Significant others factors consisted of lack of support or the presence of prohibition from husband or parent-in-law on the ground of fear that the wife could be sick or could not work appropriately. Transportation factor consisted of lack of private vehicle or public transportation which made the respondent reluctant to access FP service (probability of 92.99%).

Abstract:
Online social media (OSM) generates a massive amount of data about human behavior based on their interactions. People express their opinions, comments and share information about variety of topics of their daily life through OSM. The majority of the comments are divided into three categories: Positive, negative, and natural. Regarding the negative comments, the OSM platform facilitates abnormal actions, such as unsolicited messages, misinformation, rumors, the dissemination of fake news and propaganda, as well as the dissemination of malicious links. Therefore, one of the most significant data analytic activities for identifying normal and deviant individuals on social networks is abnormality detection. This paper proposes a hybrid model based on three famous deep learning approaches to discover the behavioral abnormalities, and negative comments in the OSM platforms. The selected benchmark for our research is the airline sentiment in a Twitter dataset. In the proposed method, the dataset is fed to the LSTM network; next, the output of LSTM feeds the CNN network. CNN combines features and generates various feature maps. In the next step, we reduce and select the most important features. Finally, the selected features are given to ANN to classify the data. The proposed method (LSTM + CNN + ANN) is compared with various classical machine-learning (ML) techniques. The experimental results show that the proposed method enhances the accuracy and precision on average by %8.6 and %8.4, respectively in compared to the classical ML techniques.

Abstract:

Abstract:
With the advent of the Internet, social networking sites have spread, and their number has increased dramatically. The number of its users, especially school and university students, who use these sites for social communication and entertainment for obtaining information and exchanging experiences with their peers has increased. The study aimed to identify the role of social networks in forming social relations among students of private universities. The study used the descriptive analytical method. The study population consisted of all students of three private universities. A random sample of 530 students was chosen to answer a questionnaire. The study revealed that students enjoy the freedom to use social networks. Also, it is inferred that social networks have become a source of news as they compete with traditional means of communication. In addition, students using social networks has many negatives, including wasting time and effort, distorting facts, and spreading rumors. In contrast, they have many advantages, including making new friends, communicating with friends and relatives, and exchanging opinions. Furthermore, the study showed that social networks achieve cognitive satisfaction by providing students with information about the world. It is believed that they satisfy the desire for curiosity by 80% and cognitive needs by 77%. In light of the results, the study recommends the necessity of using social networks by educational institutions to achieve psychological, social, and cognitive gratification for students.

Abstract:
Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic situation forced governments to impose various measures to reduce the spread of the virus. The most used method is to wear facial masks, which can be found under several commercial forms. Wearing facial masks has caused a lot of controversy and rumors. Among them, many patients and practitioners have complained of a dry mouth after wearing different types of facial masks for a variable period of time. The aim of this study was to analyze the quantitative (un-/stimulated salivary flow rate) and qualitative (pH and buffer capacity) changes in saliva in mask wearers. Methodology Forty subjects were selected for this study. All of them wore alternatively no mask, a surgical mask for 2 hours, and FFP2 mask for 2 hours (groups 1, 2, and 3). Saliva samples were collected from all the subjects in the groups and analyzed to determine the values of un-/stimulated salivary flow rate, the pH, and buffer capacity using GC Saliva-Check Buffer (GC Corporation, Japan). Descriptive and analytical statistics were performed using ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc test. Results For unstimulated saliva samples, between groups 1 and 3, statistically significant differences were recorded, with a significance level of 0,02<p=0,05. For stimulated saliva, salivary pH or buffer samples, no significant differences were found between groups. Conclusion Wearing FFP2 masks for two hours showed a reduction in salivary flow rate compared to subjects who did not wear facial masks. Wearing surgical masks did not produce changes in salivary flow rates, pH or buffer capacity.

Abstract:
Introduction: Acute Upper respiratory tract infection was the highest case among the other diseases in Sukorejo Primary Healthcare Center, Pacitan Regency. Health protocol policies have an impact on healthy living behavior, which can prevent COVID-19 and acute upper respiratory infection (non-COVID-19). Rumors in the community stated that all acute upper respiratory infections had been tested for COVID-19, and were declared positive for COVID-19. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with acute upper respiratory tract infections (non-COVID-19).Methods: This study was conducted in an analytic observational method with a case-control study design. There were 61 subjects in the case and 61 subjects aged 26-65 years in the control groups. Sampling was done by simple random sampling for the case and purposive sampling for the control group. Data were analyzed by chi-square tests and logistic regression models. Results: Based on bivariate analysis, the inappropriate use of masks, smoking, inappropriate hand washing habits, high density on room occupancy, and inappropriate house ventilation area were the risk factors of acute upper respiratory tract infections (non-COVID-19). After controlling for the other variables, smoking habits (OR=2.723; 95%Cl=1.216-6.098; p=0.015), inappropriate house ventilation area (OR=2.569; 95%Cl=1.149-5.743; p=0.022), high density in room occupancy density (OR=2.425; 95%Cl=1.087-5.410; p =0.031) and the inappropriate use of masks (OR=2.320; 95%Cl=1.021-5.173; p=0.045) were the risk factors of acute upper respiratory tract infection (non-COVID-19) incidence. Conclusion: The risk factors of acute upper respiratory tract infection (non-COVID-19) incidence were smoking habits, inappropriate house ventilation, high density in room occupancy and the inappropriate use of masks

Abstract:
Conspiracy narratives and speculative rumors of a conspiracist nature are intermittently popular in youth culture, as well as in political discourse. The general motivations of conspiracy beliefs relate to essential needs (for knowledge, to feel safe and secure, to feel good about oneself and one’s group), but evidence shows these needs are not actually served by conspiracy beliefs. Conspiracy theories tend to be explanations that conflict with best academic knowledge, and belief in them leads to less support for democratic processes and institutions. They play a role in political polarization, and they are used in identity-protective cognition. They may both express and arouse “strong feelings and divide communities and society”. Conspiracy theories as a general topic thus satisfy general criteria for controversial issues. At the same time, they are particularly interesting because they hover between the superficially and the inherently controversial: although in practice often resistant to contradictory evidence, they generally appeal to reason and evidence. While they sometimes are rooted in deep religious and religion-like beliefs, we argue that this makes them good cases for practicing analytical skills that could better serve all the needs above. Since cases and topics can cover the gamut from the subject-related to the cross-curricular and civic behavior, and the skills should be broadly transferable, using conspiracy theories as a topic has a high possible upside. However, conspiracy theories in a school setting have not yet been a topic of much research. This article takes as its starting point interviews with teachers and preliminary investigations of adolescents, before presenting an outline of possible didactic tools for teachers based on the general findings of effective interventions on conspiracy beliefs and related issues.

Abstract:
ENGELSK ABSTRACT: Christopher Gad and Peter Lauritsen: Surveillance as Situated Practice Two ideas dominate the debates about the general characteristics of surveillance: Big Brother and the panopticon. These ideas foster a critical stance towards surveillance and have important analytical limitations. This paper develops an alternative understanding of surveillance as a situated phenomenon. Drawing on the work of Donna Haraway and Bruno Latour the concept of “situated surveillance” is developed through a case study of surveillance activities onboard the Danish fisheries inspection vessel Vestkysten. The case study shows how surveillance in this context is different from what one would imagine if Big Brother or the panopticon was chosen as starting point for analysis. Surveillance onboard Vestkysten is about care, resistance and friction in a situation in which the distinction between the observer and the observed is blurred. Key words: Situated knowledge, Big Brother, panopticon, oligopticon, surveillance, fisheries inspection.
