El propósito de este artículo es proponer una reflexión sobre la pandemia actual desde una perspectiva que reconoce ciertas filiaciones filosóficas. En particular, seguiré alguna línea de análisis sugerida por el pensamiento cosmopolítico de Isabelle Stengers así como algunas provocaciones del último trabajo de Donna Haraway. Estas ideas permitirán establecer, a su vez, un hilo conductor que hace las veces de clausura provisoria de un diagnóstico científico y filosófico convergente: la pandemia representa la irrupción de un tiempo que demanda una reflexión sui generis. Nada se cancela en este trabajo porque pretendo, como las autoras,seguir con el problema.

Abstract:

Subacute or subclinical ruminai acidosis (SARA) is one of the most important metabolic diseases of dairy cows, characterized by a decrease in pH of rumen fluid below 5.5 (up to 5), certain hours after feeding. SARA is commonly found in intensive livestock production systems; so far, its prevalence has been studied only in few countries and was found to be particularly high. The disease is caused by a decrease in rumen pH below normal level, due to an excessive increase of rumen volatile fattyacids (VFA) concentration. The increased concentration of VFA could be due to diets rich in easily fermentable carbohydrates or slow absorption of the VFA by the rumen wall, due to maladjustment in high energy diets. Finely chopped feeds that do not adequately stimulate mastication and rumination, resulting in less production of saliva that acts as a buffer of the rumen fluid pH, seem to play an important role in the etiology of the disease. The diagnosis of SARA, based on its definition, is established by rumen pH determination, at specific time intervals after feeding. Continuous pH data acquisition can be obtained, for research purposes only, by rumen cannulation and immersion in rumen fluid of a pH-meter that continuously transmits pH data to a computer. Alternatively, the pH-measuring device can be inserted orally into the rumen in a bolus form, which is also a transmittersending the pH data continuously to a computer. The latter method is very promising for clinical practice, but, unfortunately, is currently too expensive. It is easier and more affordable for practitioners to obtain a rumen fluid sample by either using a rumen tube or, preferably, by performing rumenocentesis, by which rumen fluid free of "contaminating" saliva is collected. Rumenocentesis is safe, easy to perform and more accurate than rumen tubing. The impact of SARA in dairy cows includes,amongst others, reduction of milk production, milk fat content depression, laminitis and, therefore, lameness, liver abscesses formation and, therefore, caudal vena cava syndrome, increased culling rate without any obvious cause etc. SARA treatment and prevention is mainly based on management and dietary measures that eliminate the causes of the disease.

Abstract:

El objetivo principal del estudio fue analizar la relación de las variables evitación experiencial, estilo de respuesta rumiativo e insomnio en función del sexo, edad y nivel académico. Se trata de un estudio observacional correlacional transversal, con una muestra no clínica en población adolescente, seleccionados mediante muestreo no probabilístico. Los instrumentos utilizados han sido el AAQ-II, el RRS y el ISI, que miden evitación experiencial, estilo de respuesta rumiativo e insomnio, respectivamente. Los resultados muestran una correlación lineal positiva entre los cuestionarios administrados (AAQ-II, RRS e ISI), siendo la más alta entre AAQ-II y RRS (0,648). Además, se han encontrado diferencias significativas en función del sexo para la evitación experiencial (sig. 0,001, asumiendo varianzas diferentes) y para la rumiación (sig. 0.090, se asumen varianzas iguales). Podría existir una asociación entre estas tres variables, además de una alimentación recíproca en adolescentes.

Tendency to ruminate may mediate the relationship between anger and depression. In this preliminary study, 353 Italian community participants completed the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory–2, the Padua Inventory's Tendency to Doubt and to Ruminate subscale, and the Beck Depression Inventory–II. Trait anger and depression were expected to have a positive relationship, and separate relationships with the tendency to ruminate. Theoretically, a new hypothesis was that the tendency to ruminate would mediate the relationship between depression and anger. Zero-order and partial correlations and a path analysis based on Baron and Kenny's method for calculating multiple regression analyses were calculated. Consistent with the hypotheses, anger and depression were strongly associated; the tendency to ruminate was significantly associated with both anger and depression; and the mediation model fit the data. Behaviors related to the tendency to ruminate could help to explain how depression is related to anger.

Rataan bobot badan setiap rumpun domba yaitu DG 34 kg, DP 21 kg, dan DL 20,5 kg. Setiap rumpun domba dianggap sebagai perlakuan dan masing – masing diulang sebanyak enam kali. Domba dipelihara dalam kandang individu yang telah dipasang kamera CCTV sebanyak dua unit. Pakan berupa hijauan segar dan air minum, diberikan secara ad libitum selama periode penelitian (06:00-18:00 WIB). Rangcangan acak lengkap digunakan dalam penelitian ini, selanjutnya data diolah dengan ANOVA melalui uji F dengan Uji Duncan sebagai uji lanjutnya. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Ternak Potong Kandang Domba Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran sejak 29 Januari hingga 12 April 2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan lama waktu makan dan ruminasi antar rumpun domba. Domba Lokal menunjukkan lama waktu makan paling sebentar setelah Domba Garut dan Domba Priangan (DL 8996,00 detik/hari, DG 13483,33 detik/hari, dan DP 16468,67 detik/hari). Lama ruminasi paling lama ditunjukkan oleh Domba Garut (16993,67 detik/hari), kemudian Domba Priangan (13718,33 detik/hari), dan paling sebentar Domba Lokal (11163,67 detik/hari). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan lama waktu makan dan lama ruminasi dari ketiga rumpun domba.Kata kunci : Lama Makan, Lama Ruminasi, Domba Garut, Domba Priangan, Domba Lokal ABSTRACTThis study aimed to learn about differentiation of eating and ruminating time from three tribe of sheep which is Garut’s Sheep, Priangan’s Sheep, dan also Local’s Sheep. Every sheep has equal age from 12 to 18 month with average body weigth 34 kg’s for Garut’s Sheep, 21 kg’s for Priangan’s Sheep, and 20 kg’s for Local’s Sheep. Each tribe of sheep was used as a treatment, and every treatment has repeated six time. Two CCTV’s was used to observe the behaviour of sheep with modified individual cage along observation. Observation period was start from 06:00 to 18:00 for each individual with ad libitum forages as primary food and water supply. The data were randomized using Complete Randomized Sampling Method, and evaluated using ANOVA with Duncan post-hoc test to determine the divergency. The research was held in “Laboratorium Ternak Potong Kandang Domba Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran” since January 29th 2019 sampai tanggal 12 April th 2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap suku memiliki nomor yang berbeda dari pengeluaran waktu untuk makan dan memamah biak. Domba Lokal memiliki waktu makan terendah setelah Domba Garut dan Domba Priangan dengan nilai 8996,00 s / d, 13483,33 s / d, dan 16468,67 s / d masing-masing. Domba Garut memiliki jumlah waktu perenungan tertinggi dengan 16993,67 s / d, kemudian Domba Priangan dan Domba Lokal masing-masing dengan nilai 13718,33 s / d, dan 11163,67 s / d. Cellobiose transport by the cellulolytic ruminal anaerobe Fibrobacter (Bacteroides) succinogenes was measured using randomly tritiated cellobiose. When assayed at the same concentration (1 mM), total cellobiose uptake was one-fourth to one-third that of total glucose uptake. The abilities of F. succinogenes to transport cellobiose or glucose were not affected by the sugar on which the cells were grown. Aspects of the simultaneous transport of [14C(U)]glucose and [3H(G)]cellobiose, the failure of high concentrations of cold glucose to compete with hypothetical [3H(G)] glucose (derived externally from [3H(G)]cellobiose), and differential metal-ion stimulation of cellobiose transport indicate a cellobiose permease, rather than cellobiase plus glucose permease, was responsible for cellobiose transport. Glucose (10-fold molar excess) partially inhibited cellobiose transport. This was enhanced by prior incubation of the cells with glucose, suggesting subsequent metabolism of the glucose was responsible for the inhibition. Compounds interfering with electron transport or maintenance of transmembrane ion gradients inhibited cellobiose uptake, indicating that active transport rather than a phosphoenolpyruvate:phosphotransferase system catalyzed cellobiose transport. Abstract Older adults differ in their responses to distress, and those who tend to ruminate report poor health. We sought to examine whether trait empathy, the tendency to share and understand others’ distress, underlies rumination, and whether this association varies by emotion regulation. Participants included 289 adults aged 65+ in the Daily Experiences and Well-being Study. They reported demographics, empathy, general preferences for emotion regulation strategies, and affect throughout the day as well as daily rumination. Empathy was associated with greater rumination, which was particularly evident in older adults who preferred avoidant strategies. We also found that the link between empathy and rumination was attenuated on days when older adults had lower negative affect variability. This study identifies empathy as a key factor that underlies individual differences in rumination, a key precursor of psychopathologies, and also suggests emotion regulation as a promising target of interventions that can promote older adults’ health.

Observation suggests that referees significantly contribute to the home team advantage in football. The atmosphere created by the home team fans is thought to be the major contributing factor, but the extent of this influence is dependent on the referee. The Decision-Specific Reinvestment Scale was developed to identify those individuals susceptible to disrupted decision making under pressure as a result of their tendency to over-involve consciousness in decision making (Decision Reinvestment) or as a result of their tendency to ruminate upon poor decisions made in the past (Decision Rumination). We asked qualified referees to make a series of video-based decisions to examine whether the home team advantage effect was associated with a high or low tendency for Decision Reinvestment or Decision Rumination. We showed that referees categorized as high Decision Ruminators disproportionately made decisions in favour of the home team. The tendency to ruminate upon poor decisions may help explain some of the variance in the home team advantage effect shown by different referees. We conclude that aspects of personality should be considered in the development of training programs designed to improve and standardise football refereeing.

Abstract:

The waste products of the wood industries, particularly pine sawdust, represent a great potential source of dietary energy for ruminants. Even though the use of pine sawdust as part of a ruminant’s diet represents an important environmental impact, studies on this subject are scarce. It is worth mentioning that pine sawdust is currently being used as a source of fibre in ovine diet. However, its digestion is limited due to its high lignin content. The objective of the present investigation consists in the design of a new treatment process for lignin degradation into pine sawdust through the use of the fungus Pleurotus ostreatus. From the results obtained, a new and sustainable food for the ruminants based on degraded pine sawdust is proposed. The experiments carried out showed significant elevation in the exploitation of the nutritious components of pine sawdust contained in the developed product due to the improvements in the digestive parameters of the ruminants. With the results obtained, besides the nutritional and environmental impact, a better control of the costs generated by the feeding of the ruminants is intended. This is due to the fact that pine sawdust does not suffer from production variation in comparison with other consumables.

En 36 vacas Criollo Lechero Tropical (CLT) cíclicas y lactantes se sincronizó el estro con PGF2a y se determinó la tasa de manifestación del estro (ME), el inicio (IE), final y duración (DE) del estro; se registró además la conducta sexual y el tiempo de pastoreo, rumia, descanso y sueño de las vacas en el proestro, estro y metaestro. La tasa de ME fue 67%, el IE después de la PGF2a sucedió a las 80,5±10,3 h y la DE fue 16,2±1 h. Durante el estro las vacas recibieron 67±13 montas y efectuaron 62,3±22; se observaron 27,9±19,6 topeteos, 21,4±4 olfateos de genitales y 1,7±0,4 Flehmen, y las vacas dedicaron 3,2±2,1 h a seguir a otras hembras, 2±1,3 h a pastorear, 1,7±0,8 h a rumiar, 1,5±0,3 h a descansar y 0,2±0,1 h a dormir. En conclusión, la PGF2a produjo aceptable tasa de ME y conducta sexual intensa en vacas CLT, y el tiempo dedicado a alimentación y descanso disminuyó durante el estro. Es necesario estudiar el ciclo estrual natural para determinar con precisión la conducta de vacas CLT durante el estro.

Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah P0S70: 70% serasah gamal dan 30% konsentrat, P30S40 : 30% batang pisang, 40% serasah gamal dan 30% konsentrat, P40S30: 40% batang pisang, 30% serasah gamal dan 30% konsentrat, P70S0 : 70% batang pisang dan 30% konsentrat. Parameter yang diukur terdiri dari frekuensi dan lama makan, frekuensi dan lama ruminasi serta frekuensi dan lama istirahat. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analisis of Variance (ANOVA) diikuti dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan mengunakan SPSS 23. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa frekuensi makan lebih rendah (P<0,05) pada perlakuan P0S70 (16,6 kali per hari) dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya yang bervariasi antara 22,9 sampai 26,1 kali per hari. Lama makan tidak berbeda di antara perlakuan (P>0,05) yaitu bervariasi antara 7,5 sampai 8,8 jam. Frekuensi dan lama ruminasi serta frekuensi dan lama istirahat beturut-turut bervariasi antara 26 sampai 33 kali dan 5,3 sampai 10 jam per hari serta 36,3 sampai 39,8 kali dan 7,3 sampai 12 jam per hari. Lama ruminasi meningkat (P<0,05) dengan meningkatnya proporsi batang pisang di dalam pakan komplit, tetapi frekuensi ruminasi tidak berbeda antar pelakuan (P>0,05). Perlakuan berbengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap lama istirahat tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap frekuensi istirahat. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perbedan rasio antara batang pisang dan serasah gamal menyebabkan perbedaan frekuensi makan, lama ruminasi dan lama istirahat tetapi tidak merubah lama makan, frekuensi ruminasi dan istirahat.

Abstract:

Taking as a base the intersection of Political ecology, environmental affectivity and bodies and emotions´ sociology; it reflects on the social wounds that make up our short and long memory in the midst of power relations and predation. It focuses on the ways in which «pain becomes silent», especially in the disaffection of violence towards the human and non-human. Finally, a conception of politics as a continuous (re) composition of life (in common) is proposed, in contrast to the idea of the reproduction of life, based on the etymology of the words composition and production.

Abstract:

Los Pensamientos Automáticos Perfeccionistas (PAP) son rumias basadas en la necesidad de ser perfecto, por lo que lleva consigo un alto nivel de angustia. Es por ello necesario diseñar estrategias de prevención y/o descenso de PAP. El presente trabajo partía de dos objetivos. El primero de ellos fue analizar si existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas en los factores del Uso Espontáneo de Imágenes Mentales (UEIP) en función de las altas o bajas puntuaciones de los distintos factores de PAP. El segundo de ellos analizar la probabilidad de presentar PAP en función de los factores del UEIP. Para ello se obtuvo una muestra de 791 participantes (M =22.5; DE = 5.21) y se utilizaron como instrumentos de medida la Perfectionism Cognitions Inventory (PCI) y la Spontaneous Use of Imagery Scale (SUIS). Los hallazgos arrojaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en Demandas y Esfuerzos Perfeccionistas, así como en el total de la PCI en todos los factores del UEIP, así como el total de la SUIS. Asimismo, los resultados indicaron que conforme aumenta la puntuación en las distintas dimensiones de la SUIS, aumenta la probabilidad tanto de presentar DP, como EP y PAP en general. En conclusión, el presente estudio muestra peculiaridades específicas de los PAP que permiten diseñar estrategias de prevención sobre estas rumias perfeccionistas.

Kecenderungan remaja perempuan melakukan ruminasi kognitif meningkat pada masa pandemi COVID-19, yang pada akhirnya dapat memunculkan gangguan kecemasan dan depresi. Intervensi Analisis Lirik dalam kelompok untuk mengarahkan pemikiran dan memperkenalkan mekanisme koping yang lebih efektif dapat menjadi salah satu metode Terapi Kognitif Perilaku dalam mengatasi ruminasi kognitif. Dalam laporan ini, karakteristik anggota kelompok intervensi sebagai penggemar musisi Korea Selatan BTS (Bangtansonyeondan) melandasi pemilihan lagu. Mendiskusikan lagu “Permission to Dance” dengan lirik yang optimis memberikan tilikan (insight) mengenai strategi koping positif dan efektif yang dapat dilakukan alih-alih melakukan ruminasi kognitif. Hasil penelitian ini menyarankan bahwa kombinasi Intervensi Analisis Lirik dengan psikoedukasi dan penugasan pengamatan diri secara mandiri dapat menurunkan gejala depresi, kecemasan, dan stres partisipan.

Para el autor, el problema de la decadencia del sistema educativo actual no es responsabilidad del Gobierno, de las leyes y reformas educativas, de la críticas que varios sectores de la sociedad hacen a la escuela, del modelo empírico-analítico, de las ciberculturas estudiantiles auspiciadas por la tecnología, del poco apoyo de los padres de familia a la escuela o del estado moribundo en que se encuentran elementos centrales como el currículo o la evaluación, sino de las prácticas pedagógicas docentes sin sentido, de la concepción que se tiene de la educación, de criticar rumiando el pasado y no hacer nada para el cambio. Más bien, se invita al cambio y a la trasformación de la práctica pedagógica docente haciendo la clase de manera diferente.</p>

El estudio de los Pensamientos Automáticos Perfeccionistas (PAP) está en auge tras observar su efecto negativo sobre la salud de las personas. De ahí la necesidad de buscar estrategias de prevención de estas rumias de perfección. El objetivo del estudio fue observar si existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas en las dimensiones de la vivacidad o capacidad de imagen mental (CIM) en función de las altas o bajas puntuaciones de los distintos factores de PAP, así como analizar la probabilidad de presentar PAP en función de los factores de CIM. Para ello se reclutó una muestra de 791 universitarios españoles (M = 22.5; DE = 5.21) y se utilizó la Perfectionism Cognitions Inventory (PCI) y la Vividness Visual Imagery Questionnaire-Revised Version 12 (VVIQRV-12). Los resultados arrojan diferencias estadísticamente significativas en la Capacidad Creativa de Imágenes (CCI) en todos los factores, puntuando más alto en función de los bajos Esfuerzos (EP; d=.32) y Demandas Perfeccionistas (DP; d=.22); sugiriendo, además, que a medida que aumenta la CCI disminuye la probabilidad de presentar EP y DP. En conclusión, los hallazgos del estudio muestran características concretas de los PAP que benefician el diseño de estrategias de prevención sobre estas rumias poco saludables.

Abstract:

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to review a case of a man with intellectual disability, autism and challenging behaviour who presented with vomiting, regurgitations and significant weight loss. Design/methodology/approach The paper examines the case history and identifies challenges contributing to symptom classification and management of a patient with intractable vomiting, regurgitations and significant weight loss. Findings This case illustrates the importance of the multidisciplinary team working required to reduce morbidity and risk of mortality, as well as highlighting some of the challenges associated with coordinating different approaches from different agencies. Pharmacological management did not result in lasting symptom resolution in this case. Difficulties in establishing diagnostic certainty and consideration of whether symptoms could be consistent with rumination syndrome are also discussed. The value of consistent implementation of positive behavioural support is also demonstrated. Originality/value The rapid and dangerous weight loss described in this case is associated with adverse physical health outcomes and has generated significant anxiety resulting in extensive liaison between primary and secondary mental and physical health services. Additionally, it considers whether the symptoms could be attributed to the relatively rare diagnosis of rumination syndrome which is historically underdiagnosed.
