The main focus of this work is to describe and implement a method to analyze sympathovagal balance. The theoretical part begins with electrocardiogram origin and measurement followed by heart rate variability explanation and a method of tachogram creation. The chapter is finished by description of wavelet transform as a means for tachogram processing and obtaining the sympato-vagal balance coeficient. Practical part of work focuses on developing a solution in Matlab for this problem. The R detector, tachogram creation and wavelet transform processing scripts with sympato-vagal balance assesment are fully described along with an example of their outputs. The work is finished with a conclusion of the findings and the assessment of sympato-vagal balance form them, which is unfortunately not so simple.

Práce obsahuje analýzu vnější ekonomické rovnováhy Ruska pomocí platební bilance. V teoretické části je definován pojem platební bilance, proveden rozbor její struktury podle metodiky MMF. Dále úvodní část shrnuje teorii měnového kurzu, zachycuje vývoj ruského rublu a zejména dokumentuje podhodnocení nominálního kurzu rublu vůči paritě kupní síly. Praktická část se zaměřuje na samotnou analýzu platební bilance Ruska v letech 1991-2007. Je sledován vývoj jednotlivých účtů a vybraných sald platební bilance, vývoj ukazatelů zadluženosti a také investiční pozice Ruska.

This paper deals with the problem of monitoring the occurrence of the minority events in thermodynamic systems by using thermodynamic sensors based on the principle of balance equilibrium. The basis of this work is to find new sensor arrangement of thermodynamic sensors that allows work in a wide range of workloads of monitored system while maintaining the required sensitivity. Newly designed balance circuit for the sensor arrangement with four active sensors allows active setup of the default balance equilibrium and power matching of the sensor to its immediate surroundings in the system. By designing and optimization of balance circuit was achieved measuring the output response and its conversion to digital format. This enabled numerical analysis of output signal, algorithmic processing of the results and generate a feedback control signal to adjust the equilibrium conditions.

The thesis deals with the scientific problem of the link between the strategic management and the compensation system using the principle of internal equity. The work is based on two pillars, namely the qualitative research and own proposed solution. The first part of the thesis describes the qualitative research and the possibilities and the synergistic effects of linking business strategy and compensation system. The qualitative research is performed as a multi-case study and investigates the phenomenon in the practice of three companies from various markets (the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bosnia and Hercegovina) and industries (finance, IT/Telco and FMCG). The research tries to find answers to the four research questions: How does business strategy influence compensation process? How can compensation support the realization of a business strategy? How can business strategy be linked with a compensation system within the principle of internal equity? How can compensation reinforce the strategic function of the human resources management? The research is based on the study of theoretical sources as well as on practical fieldwork. The qualitative research itself uses qualitative research methods for data collection, such as observations, questionnaires, and document analysis. The population questioned was top managers, line managers and representatives of HR department. In total, 142 interviews were performed by a single person. The collected data were analyzed and the triangulation was applied. The findings were summarized and generalized into a final report that brings answers to the research questions above. The research brings valuable findings used in the second, design part of the thesis. The own proposed solution consists of two main models. The first one is a simplified scheme of the compensation system and the second one is a model of strategic segmentation of jobs. The first model could be used successfully in the business practice as well as in education. The second model of the strategic job segmentation brings answer to the question of synergistic linking of business strategy and the compensation system within the principle of internal equity. The model brings valuable findings and a foundation for further theoretical research and its further development. The model also brings practical solution to the design of related policies and processes in the strategic management of human resources. By the design of both proposed models the main objectives of the thesis were achieved.

The European Central Bank implements its monetary policy within the Euro Area -- the biggest project of monetary union in the history. This fact itself draws our attention and gives rise to the questions about the efficiency of the adopted steps in the scope of fulfilling the main objective -- price stability. However when evaluating the overall economic balance we are not only interested in price stability. This paper is focused on ECB monetary policy from a theoretical point of view as well as through comprehensive analysis of its practical effects on economic performance. External and internal balance indicators help us to evaluate the ECB's achievement from 1999 till now. Therefore we can see the origins of the current miserable state of the common currency not in the bad decisions undertaken by the ECB, but in the general conditions, which enabled the formation of the EMU on a very unstable foundation.

The thesis deals with the development of the external economic balance and the influencing factors. It describes the development of individual accounts of the balance of payments from 1993 to 2010 and it mainly focuses on last years and on the time of financial and economic crisis. Consequently in accordance to the basic theoretical concepts, it defines factors which can influence the individual parts of the balance of payments, and it analyzes the mutual relations. On the basis of analysis of the trade balance, current account, basic balance and total balance it was confirmed that the Czech Republic does not have a high risk of external imbalance. But during the financial and economic crisis the external balance worsened, the export of goods and import of direct investment decreased, the balance of income worsened. It was also approved that the external and internal income significantly influence the external balance of the Czech Republic.

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the ERM II mechanism and to explain it's positives and negatives for the internal and external economic balance. In the first part of this thesis the author engages in the ERM II system and other applied exchange mechanisms. Further he focuses in detail on the theory of internal and external economic balance. In the analytic part of the work the author uses chosen indicators to monitor the influence of ERM II mechanism on the internal and external balance of three selected countries - Malta, Cyprus and Latvia. In the closing part the author summarizes the outcome of the analysis.

At the beginning of the year 2014 carbon tax should be introduced in Czech Republic with the main focus on decreasing CO2 emission from firms not involved in EU ETS. Potential repercussions of this regulatory tool depend on multiple complex events occurring within the economy. In response a macroeconomic general equilibrium model with the base year of 2009 was created. This model is able to identify complex events within the economy and simulate initiation of the tax itself. As a result of this model there is a conclusion that not all sectors will decrease their demand for newly taxed fossil fuels and that an increase of consumption for relatively less taxed fuels for instance natural gas might be expected as a result of the tax initiation. Carbon tax will be according to the simulation results indirectly but significantly influencing the energy sector, which will in spite of the relative cut-price of input fuels respond with decrease in electricity production. Consequent higher electricity price will then cause additional costs for taxed sectors. Important conclusion is also the fact that rational behavior of economic agents could lead to a lower emission reduction than is currently being expected and even further increase in the tax rate beyond 15 EUR/tCO2 would probably not lead to a significant reduction of CO2 emissions.

The diploma thesis covers themes of pollution intensity of production, informal environmental regulation and voluntary approaches. The theoretical part of thesis consists of main theories and empirical results of environmental regulation and impacts on manufacturing production. In the practical part author presents the econometric model of emission intensity equilibria is designed. Plants observations are gathered from IRZ registry in period 2005-2011 and air pollution is proxied by PM10 and C8H8 emissions. Following econometric analysis of emission intensity equilibria measures an influence by factors of production function and environmental regulation variables on intensity. As results have shown, significance of factors such as voluntary approaches, IPPC and socio-economic specifics haven't been proved. On the other hand statistically significant factors are firm's size and average wage of employees.

The goal is retrieval and analysis of economic studies that address economic and environmental impacts associated with the introduction of biofuels policy. Individual economic studies on the environment that are at work that are evaluated by using biofuels policy of macroeconomic and microeconomic models. Results of studies show that the introduction of biofuels policy creates economic and environmental impacts such as deforestation, environment, prices, employment and competitiveness of farmers.

Práce zkoumá možnosti analýzy mechanismů působících během vstupu ČR do EU pomocí 2 ekonometrických modelů. První model je makroekonomický, vychází z Romerova IS-MP modelu. Je specifikovaný a odhadnutý jako GARCH model za použití časových řad pozorování, na jeho základě jsou stanoveny předpovědi. Výsledky ukazují velkou propojenost ekonomiky ČR s ekonomikou EU v období před vstupem do EU. Druhý model je mikroekonomický, tzv. "model obecné rovnováhy" (GE model). Jeho parametry jsou kalibrovány na základě dat z jednoho období. Model lze využít k simulacím změn souvisejících se vstupem ČR do EU.

Diploma thesis deals with the US external economic balance, particularly balance of payments, international investment position, indebtness and the dollar exchange rate. The first part includes the theoretical approach to external economic balance and related terms. Furthermore, I focus on the status of current and financial account of the United States in detail. Here I evaluate the balances of BOP parts and search for the explanation of this situation. I also focus on international investment position of the United States, the development of foreign direct investment and debt indicators. The work also contains a detailed analysis of the U.S. balance of payments for the years 2004 - 2008. The last section is a treatise on the history of the dollar, development of its rate, expected future developments and relationships with U.S. major trading partner, China.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá rekonstrukcí dynamického modelu produkce polyhydroxyalkanoátů (PHA) termofilní bakterií Schlegelella thermodepolymerans. První kapitola poskytuje čtenářům krátký úvod do systémové biologie a matematické teorie grafů. Na ni navazuje druhá kapitola zabývající se různými přístupy v dynamickém modelování, včetně běžně používaných nástrojů pro dynamickou analýzu komplexních systémů. Třetí kapitola pak sleduje další pojmy a možnosti týkající se analýzy modelu. Následující kapitola se zaměřuje na metabolomiku a často používané laboratorní techniky a pátá kapitola je pak věnována polyhydroxyalkanoátům, zejména jejich chemické struktuře a vlastnostem. V kapitole šesté je navržen obecný booleovský model pro produkci PHA termofilními bakteriemi. Kapitola sedmá se poté zaměřuje na zdokonalení modelu se zaměřením na S. thermodepolymerans. Výsledný dynamický model je podroben analýze a výsledky jsou diskutovány.

The diploma thesis deals with nonlinear dynamical systems with emphasis on typical phenomena like bifurcation or chaotic behavior. The basic theoretical knowledge is applied to analysis of selected (chaotic) models, namely, Lorenz, Rössler and Chen system. The practical part of the work is then focused on a numerical simulation to confirm the correctness of the theoretical results. In particular, an algorithm for calculating the largest Lyapunov exponent is created (under the MATLAB environment). It represents the main tool for indicating chaos in a system.

The thesis analyses the trend in external economic balance of the Czech Republic since 2000. The main instruments for the analysis were found in level of balance of payments and external debt statistics. The emphasis is also placed on exchange rate of Czech currency which is considered to be one of the leading determinants of external economic relations. The main goal of this paper lies in examination of past, present and also expected future trend in external balance with respect to various indicators and to comparison with other EU members, especially with Central Europe region (Poland, Slovakia and Hungary). The thesis should provide general overview of external economic relations of the Czech Republic in situation when some European countries are being threatened by deep debt crisis and in some cases the life-line from European union or International Monetary Fund must come.

The topic of this thesis is institutional equilibrium, its formation and disruption in human systems. The thesis analyses what is common to the most human systems and concludes that it is some kind of redistribution. That is reason for the thesis title "Institutional equilibrium in redistribution systems". As the term institutional equilibrium comes from institutional economics, the thesis begins with characteristic institutional economy and its differences form mainstream economy, defines the term institution and methodological institutionalism and explains the reasons of institution evolution. Then, the problematic of redistribution is analyzed. The thesis brings a general model of a redistribution system and describes a coalition forming in it. The thesis concludes that such a process must be facilitated and regulated by institutions and that institutions define the negotiation strength of the players and stabilize their position. In a fourth chapter, the term of institutional equilibrium is defined and its preconditions and consequences are described. Factors preventing the redistribution system from reaching the equilibrium are shown. The analysis of institutional equilibrium formation follows; the open and closed systems are addressed separately, with the emphasis being put on open systems. In open systems, the creative destruction process in ever-present, disrupting the institutional equilibrium. Therefore, a question is posed: may there be such a structure of institutions which will stay unchanged despite the ongoing exogenous changes? Or, more precisely, the change of which will not be in the interest of the players? The thesis finds that the preconditions for institutions system facilitating the institutional equilibrium are investments into skills of the players and the open access into the system. The thesis also shows that such preconditions help to reduce undesirable redistribution. The fifth chapter analyses parallel redistribution games as one of the specific way of disturbing institutional equilibrium. The parallel redistribution games have secret character; their players do not want the other players to know about their game, because their game breaches the norms of the majority of players. The parallel redistribution games may be characterized as a form of opportunistic behavior. The thesis investigates the causes of these games, the reasons why they remain uncovered and the strategies of their players. Eventually, the conditions under which the parallel games may be reduced are formulated. The institutions must fulfill these conditions as well. In the end, the institutions structure capable of introducing the redistribution system into the institutional equilibrium state is defined.

The thesis deals with the development of external economical balance indicators of the Visegrad Group countries according to specifically selected indicators. In the theoretical part of the thesis the emphasis is put on the balance of payments and the changes connected to the difference in comparison between the new methodology and the previous methodology. The critical values of the selected indicators are also defined here. In the practical part are selected and evaluated the internal indicator and the degree of economical openness within the limits of external and internal economical connectedness. The main part focuses on the development of the balance of payments and analysis of a current account and a financial account. The current account part of the thesis focuses on the performance evaluation of the account and on the initial pension account. The financial account part of the thesis focuses on the direct foreign investments. There is also an assessment of the level of Central bank intervention to balance the balance of payments. The next part of the thesis deals with the level and the rate of growth of the gross external debt and the development of exchange rates. In the resume of the thesis is a comparison between the Visegrad Group countries based on previously mentioned characteristics.

This Master's Thesis deals with the balance between an entrepreneurship and a personal life. Its main goal is to identify which factors have or don't have an impact on the balance between an entrepreneurship and a personal life. As a part of the theoretical section I defined components of balanced life, the consequences of imbalances and recommendations how to get a life into a balance. Additionally, there are described important parts of entrepreneurship. For my methodological section I established the list of standards how to choose a suitable entrepreneurs for my research as well as research methods (incl. personal interviews with every single entrepreneur) and data evaluation system. This methodological section justifies and determines the way in which the balance is measured. In my practical section I examined a sample of 40 entrepreneurs (majored in restaurant business). During the research I tried to find a statistical significance among groups of entrepreneurs. The research results leads to the conclusion that the balance between an entrepreneurship and a personal life depends on qualitative rather than on quantitative features.

Practical part consists of measuring the balance and analyzing the connection between the factors and the balance. Based on a sample of 37 entrepreneurs in service sector, the research results lead to the conclusion that the balance is influenced by self-efficacy, time management and personal relationship.

Previous literature examining the scenario without the constraint of legal tender law is a rather theoretical analysis of the subject matter. Aside from the theoretical examination of the competition of money this paper offers dynamic structural macroeconomic model based on the money in the utility function. This model compares the current monetary conditions with the potential situation permitting more currencies circulating alongside. The main assumption about individuals' preferences over stable currencies underlines the whole paper with emphasis on the mathematical model. The uniqueness of this model lies in the incorporation of variables affecting respective money demand functions into the utility function of the DSGE model and in the purpose of its use as well as its variables, where representative agent is a household owning a bank rather than a firm. Overall the results of this paper favor the idea of exclusion of the legal tender law in a developed country without severe turmoil. Particularly, the ascent of competition among currencies leads to lower inflation than present scenario. However, final simulations of the model in Matlab supplements such so far "unambiguous" view with skepticism due to possible difficulties during discovery process in such scenario.

Druhá část se zabývá analýzou dynamiky a struktury PZI do české ekonomiky a konečně v třetí stěžejní části práce je analyzován vliv PZI na vnější ekonomickou rovnováhu. Postupně je analyzována platební bilanci, zejména pak projevy PZI v jejích jednotlivých částech. V závěru práce autor zkoumá možnost spojitosti PZI a vyvolání měnové krize.

The main objective of the doctorate thesis was to explore the causes of the current state of relations between the EU and Russia and to provide substantiation for future effective cooperation. The main analytical assumption of the thesis is that deeper regional economic cooperation creates positive effects for improvement of economic relations. Based on that assumption a complex exploratory framework with solid theoretical grounding was created in order to evaluate potential gains from trade liberalization scenarios between the EU and Russia. Main research is focused on the three following areas: historical background of economic relations, current developments and perspectives of the future cooperation in light of trade liberalization. Historical background of common economic relations stems from political and economic development on both sides, legal and institutional framework and problematic areas. Current development of trade and economic relations is based on analysis of trade flows in goods, trade in services and capital flows. Analysis of the future development is based on three liberalization scenarios: - Accession of Russia to the World Trade Organization (WTO), - Free trade agreement (FTA) -- scrapping customs tariffs between the EU and Russia, - Comprehensive free trade agreement (FTA+) -- reduction of non-tariff barriers to trade, liberalization of trade in services and capital flows, regulatory harmonization. Meta-analysis of different computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling is used to evaluate the liberalization scenarios. Research results proved positive effects of trade liberalization for both sides. However, comprehensive free trade agreement seems to be the most effective form of trade liberalization with maximum economic welfare gains for the EU and the Russian Federation.

This document discusses the impact of aging on the labour market in the Czech Republic to examine the labour market situation and propose options for solving the consequences of aging. The theoretical part is introduced by two publications, in which is the impact of aging on the labour market based on the projection of the demographic changes in OECD countries by 2050. Next part of this paper focuses on the definition of basic demographic indicators. Afterwards, there are described approaches of international organizations to this problem. The analytical section begins with the demographic characteristics of the population in the Czech Republic, followed by the projection of future demographic trends. Then, the paper analyzes the situation on the labour market in the Czech Republic. The paper is closed up by the review of the labour market in the Czech Republic and by recommendations for the identified issues, which are divided into 4 parts, according to policy goals set in The Implementation Regional Strategy by United Nations.

This diploma thesis focuses on changes in the external balance of Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain in the period of financial and economic crisis after 2008. The theoretical framework is based on an exact definition of external balance, ultimately as neither surplus nor deficit of a relevant balance in terms of balance of payments. Potential impacts of monetary and fiscal policies on the external balance are described there as well, using the IS-LM-BP model. The second part of the thesis, which employs this theory, is mainly based on an analysis of relevant balances of payments of the aforementioned countries, focusing on their external balance in the period before as well as during the economic crisis. The aim of the analysis is to identify the main causes of external imbalance in the Southern European countries and to find out whether these played a key role as a trigger and accelerator in their recession after 2008. Specific changes during the crisis identified in balances of payments will also be depicted in the IS-LM-BP model. Leading to the conclusion, the outcomes of a correlation analysis are used as well, looking into causal relationships between specific balance of payments variables on the one hand, and macroeconomic variables on the other. A minor part also deals with the role played in this context by the TARGET2 payment system and answers the question to which extent this system took part in the elimination of the external imbalance of the Southern European countries during the crisis.

Asset prices and macroeconomics: towards a unified macro-finance framework Aleš Maršál March 30, 2020 Abstract The dissertation consists of three papers focused on fiscal policy and explaining what determines the dynamics of cross-sectional distribution of bond prices. The connecting factor of the thesis is however not just its main theme but also the used methodology. The valuation of bonds and effects of studied policies are endogenous outcome of the full-fledged macro-finance dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model. The first chapter provides broader context and non-technical summary of the three papers in following chapters. The first paper studies the role of trend inflation in bond pricing. Motivated by recent empirical findings that emphasize low-frequency movements in inflation as a key determinant of term structure, we introduce trend inflation into the workhorse macro-finance model. We show that this compromises the earlier model success and delivers implausible busi- ness cycle and bond price dynamics. We document that this result applies more generally to non-linearly solved models with Calvo pricing and trend inflation and is driven by the behavior of price dispersion, which is i) counterfactually high and ii) highly inaccurately approximated. Title: The balance assessed in the martial art of Taekwondo Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate balance in probands, regularly dealing martial art of taekwondo and compare it with the general population, which regularly pays no sports activity and does not currently have any experience in martial arts. Methods: This is a pilot study, which was attended by 16 probands, the results were processed quantitatively. The probands of both groups were in the age range 20-38 years, composed of 4 women and 12 - men. The first group consisted of eight coaches, students, holders of black belt, or representatives, dealing regularly martial art of Taekwondo WTF for ten years or more. It was composed of individuals from the clubs Gladiator Dojang, Hirundo and SK Cobra Dojang. The control group accounted for eight individuals with no regular sports activities that have experience with any type of martial arts. The data acquisition was first utilized clinical examination, containing basic kinesiology testing. This was followed by measuring instrument, which was held with Smart Equitest system from Neurocom. Drugs used in the pharmaceutical industry often occur as a mixture of several isomers with a different biological activity. In a case that some isomer provides an undesirable side effect, it is important to separate it from the mixture and check the chiral purity of a drug. Capillary zone electrophoresis plays a significant role in chiral separations. A different affinity of isomers to complexation reagent is used for their separation from each other. The extent of their interaction is characterized by the complexation constant. Most commonly the cyclodextrins are used for the chiral separations of β-blockers and they could be in neutral or charged form. They probably interact with them through the creation of inclusion complexes. A successful baseline enantioseparation of all the β-blockers that have been studied, labetalol, pindolol, alprenolol and atenolol, was provided by using the background electrolyte containing charged cyclodextrins. The highest resolution of peaks was observed using sulfated cyclodextrins.

Title: Changes in level of balance after in-line preparation Objective: The aim of this thesis is to observe the changes in balancing abilities of students of FTVS after two month of in-line preparation. Methods: This thesis is quantitative scientific research, a quasi experiment and several methods were used in it. The method of literary research and the analysis of professional documents for processing the theoretical part of the thesis. Next, in the practical part, active observation, questioning and laboratory testing using the Footscan pressure plate. Results: By doing laboratory tests on the Footscan device, it was found that the level of balancing abilities of the students changed after two months of in-line preparation. Their balance improved. According to the established hypotheses, it was found that two out of four designated tests have statistical significance. Thanks to this thesis, we can say that in-line skating is an appropriate physical activity for improving not only fitness, but other motor abilities as well. in English In my diploma thesis I propose a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model to describe economic inequality. The model combines two approaches that were traditionally used to model inequality - first, it features two classes of agents that differ in their ownership of capital and second, each class consists of heterogeneous agents who are subject to uninsurable idiosyncratic shocks. This combination allows the two classes to behave in a fundamentally different way while maintaining the individual character of agents in the economy - a feature that has not been modeled before but which adequately describes the empirical reality. I show that the model with classical RBC structure and a single wage underestimates the observed inequality. When the wage differential is introduced through different taxation of the two classes, the model matches empirical inequality much better. Further I argue that the government can significantly reduce inequality at a relatively small cost in terms of output lost. Finally using Theil coefficient decomposition, I show how much of the total inequality is attributable to between-class and within-class inequalities.

Characteristics: The diploma thesis deals with the effect of aerobic gymnastics on good posture. The basis for this thesis was obtained by testing selected shortened and weakend muscle groups. Two groups of girls were compared. The first group consisted of girls representing the Czech Republic at international championships and practicing aerobic gymnastics at the highest level for more than ten years.
