Abstract:
Purpose – XML Schema is used to define schema of XML documents that have become standards for data exchange in various Web-based information applications. The main problem of XML Schema is that it emphasizes syntax and format rather than semantics and knowledge representation. Hence, even though having the advantage of describing the structure and constraining the contents of XML documents, XML Schema lacks the computer-interpretability to support knowledge representation for existing information systems. The purpose of this study is to propose role-mapping annotations for XML Schema (RMAXS) to integrate Semantic Web with XML Schema, which allows the facilitation interoperability between adjoining layers of the Semantic Web stack. Design/methodology/approach – The XML, XML Schema, ontology, and rule can be completely integrated into a multi-layered intelligent framework (MIF) for XML-based applications in the current web environment. This work presents a semantic-role-mapping intelligent system, called SRMIS, based on the MIF. SRMIS consists of XML-based document repository, search engine, inference engine and transformation engine, which provides different approaches to present the various metadata and knowledge representations. Findings – The traditional Semantic Web stack has three gaps between adjoining layers. The first gap, between the XML and XML Schema layers can be bridged with an XMLSchema-instance mechanism. The third gap, between the ontology and rule layers can be connected by building rules on top of ontologies. This study proposes RMAXS to couple the second gap, between the XML schema and ontology layers. The proposed multi-layered intelligent framework (MIF) adopts these coupling technologies to facilitate interoperability between adjoining layers. Therefore, the XML, XML Schema, ontology, and rule can be completely integrated into the MIF for intelligent applications in the web environment. Practical implications – To demonstrate the SRMIS applications, this work implements a prototype that helps researchers to find interested papers. Originality/value – This work presents a semantic-role-mapping intelligent system, called SRMIS, based on the MIF. SRMIS consists of XML-based document repository, search engine, inference engine and transformation engine, which provides different approaches to present the various metadata and knowledge representations. The proposed SRMIS can be applied in various application domains.

Current web application development requires highly qualified staff, dealing with an extensive number of architectures and technologies. When these applications incorporate semantic data, the list of skill requirements becomes even larger, leading to a high adoption barrier for the development of semantically enabled Web applications. This paper describes VPOET, a tool focused mainly on two types of users: web designers and web application developers. By using this tool, web designers do not need specific skills in semantic web technologies to create web templates to handle semantic data. Web application developers incorporate those templates into their web applications, by means of a simple mechanism based in HTTP messages. End-users can use these templates through a Google Gadget. As web designers play a key role in the system, an experimental evaluation has been conducted, showing that VPOET provides good usability features for a representative group of web designers in a wide range of competencies in client-side technologies, ranging from amateur HTML developers to professional web designers.

The semantic web is an emerging technology that helps to connect different users to create their content and also facilitates the way of representing information in a manner that can be made understandable for computers. As the world is heading towards the fourth industrial revolution, the implicit utilization of artificial-intelligence-enabled semantic web technologies paves the way for many real-time application developments. The fundamental building blocks for the overwhelming utilization of semantic web technologies are ontologies, and it allows sharing as well as reusing the concepts in a standardized way so that the data gathered from heterogeneous sources receive a common nomenclature, and it paves the way for disambiguating the duplicates very easily. In this context, the right utilization of ontology capabilities would further strengthen its presence in many web-based applications such as e-learning, virtual communities, social media sites, healthcare, agriculture, etc. In this paper, we have given the comprehensive review of using the semantic web in the domain of healthcare, some virtual communities, and other information retrieval projects. As the role of semantic web is becoming pervasive in many domains, the demand for the semantic web in healthcare, virtual communities, and information retrieval has been gaining huge momentum in recent years. To obtain the correct sense of the meaning of the words or terms given in the textual content, it is deemed necessary to apply the right ontology to fix the ambiguity and shun any deviations that persist on the concepts. In recent years, due to technological advancements, the concept of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) is gaining popularity, while presenting several technical challenges being tackled by both the industrial and academic research communities. Semantic Web including Knowledge Graphs is a promising technology that can play a significant role in realizing I4.0 implementations. This paper surveys the use of the Semantic Web and Knowledge Graphs for I4.0 from different perspectives such as managing information related to equipment maintenance, resource optimization, and the provision of on-time and on-demand production and services. Moreover, to solve the challenges of limited depth and expressiveness in the current ontologies, we have proposed an enhanced reference generalized ontological model (RGOM) based on Reference Architecture Model for I4.0 (RAMI 4.0). RGOM can facilitate a range of I4.0 concepts including improved asset monitoring, production enhancement, reconfiguration of resources, process optimizations, product orders and deliveries, and the life cycle of products. Our proposed RGOM can be used to generate a knowledge graph capable of providing answers in response to any real-time query.

Purpose Web services play vital role in the development of emerging technologies such as Cloud computing and Internet of Things. Although, there is a close relationship among the discovery, selection and composition tasks of Web services, research community has treated these challenges at individual level rather to focus on them collectively for developing efficient solution, which is the purpose of this work. This paper aims to propose an approach to integrate the service discovery, selection and composition of Semantic Web services on runtime basis. Design/methodology/approach The proposed approach defined as a quality of service (QoS)-aware approach is based on QoS model to perform discovery, selection and composition tasks at runtime to enhance the user satisfaction and quality guarantee by incorporating non-functional parameters such as response time and throughput with the Web services and user request. In this paper, the proposed approach is based on ontology for semantic description of Web services, which provides interoperability and automation in the Web services tasks. Findings This work proposed an integrated framework of Web service discovery, selection and composition which supports end user to search, select and compose the Web services at runtime using semantic description and non-functional requirements. The proposed approach is evaluated by various data sets from the Web Service Challenge 2009 (WSC-2009) to show the efficiency of this work. A use case scenario of Healthcare Information System is implemented using proposed work to demonstrate the usability and requirement the proposed approach. Originality/value The main contribution of this paper is to develop an integrated approach of Semantic Web services discovery, selection and composition by using the non-functional requirements.

Abstract:
With the emergence of the Internet and of the World Wide Web, the Web site has become a key communication channel in organizations. To satisfy the objectives of the Web site and of its target audience, adapting the Web site content to the users' expectations has become a major concern. In this context, Web usage mining, a relatively new research area, and Web analytics, a part of Web usage mining that has most emerged in the corporate world, offer many Web communication analysis techniques. These techniques include prediction of the user's behaviour within the site, comparison between expected and actual Web site usage, adjustment of the Web site with respect to the users' interests, and mining and analyzing Web usage data to discover interesting metrics and usage patterns. However, Web usage mining and Web analytics suffer from significant drawbacks when it comes to support the decision-making process at the higher levels in the organization.

Indeed, according to organizations theory, the higher levels in the organizations need summarized and conceptual information to take fast, high-level, and effective decisions. For Web sites, these levels include the organization managers and the Web site chief editors. At these levels, the results produced by Web analytics tools are mostly useless. Indeed, most of these results target Web designers and Web developers. Summary reports like the number of visitors and the number of page views can be of some interest to the organization manager but these results are poor. Finally, page-group and directory hits give the Web site chief editor conceptual results, but these are limited by several problems like page synonymy (several pages contain the same topic), page polysemy (a page contains several topics), page temporality, and page volatility.

Web usage mining research projects on their part have mostly left aside Web analytics and its limitations and have focused on other research paths. Examples of these paths are usage pattern analysis, personalization, system improvement, site structure modification, marketing business intelligence, and usage characterization. A potential contribution to Web analytics can be found in research about reverse clustering analysis, a technique based on self-organizing feature maps. This technique integrates Web usage mining and Web content mining in order to rank the Web site pages according to an original popularity score. However, the algorithm is not scalable and does not answer the page-polysemy, page-synonymy, page-temporality, and page-volatility problems. As a consequence, these approaches fail at delivering summarized and conceptual results.

An interesting attempt to obtain such results has been the Information Scent algorithm, which produces a list of term vectors representing the visitors' needs. These vectors provide a semantic representation of the visitors' needs and can be easily interpreted. Unfortunately, the results suffer from term polysemy and term synonymy, are visit-centric rather than site-centric, and are not scalable to produce. Finally, according to a recent survey, no Web usage mining research project has proposed a satisfying solution to provide site-wide summarized and conceptual audience metrics.

In this dissertation, we present our solution to answer the need for summarized and conceptual audience metrics in Web analytics. We first described several methods for mining the Web pages output by Web servers. These methods include content journaling, script parsing, server monitoring, network monitoring, and client-side mining. These techniques can be used alone or in combination to mine the Web pages output by any Web site. Then, the occurrences of taxonomy terms in these pages can be aggregated to provide concept-based audience metrics. To evaluate the results, we implement a prototype and run a number of test cases with real Web sites.

According to the first experiments with our prototype and SQL Server OLAP Analysis Service, concept-based metrics prove extremely summarized and much more intuitive than page-based metrics. As a consequence, concept-based metrics can be exploited at higher levels in the organization. For example, organization managers can redefine the organization strategy according to the visitors' interests. Concept-based metrics also give an intuitive view of the messages delivered through the Web site and allow to adapt the Web site communication to the organization objectives. The Web site chief editor on his part can interpret the metrics to redefine the publishing orders and redefine the sub-editors' writing tasks. As decisions at higher levels in the organization should be more effective, concept-based metrics should significantly contribute to Web usage mining and Web analytics.

Abstract:
This thesis intends to develop application-level access control models to address several major security issues in enterprise environments. The first goal is to provide simple and efficient authorization specifications to reduce the complexity of security management. The second goal is to provide dynamic access control for Web service applications. The third goal is to provide an access control framework for Semantic Web services. In this thesis, an Authorization-Function-Based Role-based Access Control (FB-RBAC) model is proposed for controlling enterprise systems at the application level. The unique features of the proposed model are authorization-function-based access control and constraint-based finegrained access control. This model significantly simplifies the management of an access control system by adopting roles and authorization-functions in authorization specifications. An extension of FB-RBAC, Extended FB-RBAC (ERBAC), is applied to Web service applications. New features such as credential-based access control and dynamic role assignment are added to FB-RBAC in order to address user heterogeneity and dynamicity in the Web environment. The proposed ERBAC model is then extended to support Semantic Web services. Each component of the ERBAC model is described by security ontologies. These correlated security ontologies are integrated with Semantic Web services to form a complete ontology network. Ontology-based role assignment is facilitated so that security information can be queries and discovered through a network of ontologies.

Semantic interoperability is essential on the Semantic Web to enable different information systems to exchange data. Ontology matching has been recognised as a means to achieve semantic interoperability on the Web by identifying similar information in heterogeneous ontologies. Existing ontology matching approaches have two major limitations. The first limitation relates to similarity metrics, which provide a pessimistic value when considering complex objects such as strings and conceptual entities. The second limitation relates to the role of description logic reasoning. In particular, most approaches disregard implicit information about entities as a source of background knowledge. In this thesis, we first present a new similarity function, called the degree of commonality coefficient, to compute the overlap between two sets based on the similarity between their elements. The results of our evaluations show that the degree of commonality performs better than traditional set similarity metrics in the ontology matching task. Secondly, we have developed the Knowledge Organisation System Implicit Mapping (KOSIMap) framework, which differs from existing approaches by using description logic reasoning (i) to extract implicit information as background knowledge for every entity, and (ii) to remove inappropriate correspondences from an alignment. The results of our evaluation show that the use of Description Logic in the ontology matching task can increase coverage. We identify people interested in ontology matching and reasoning techniques as the target audience of this work

Afin de rendre les objets pédagogiques (OP) accessibles, réutilisables et adaptables, il est nécessaire de les modéliser. Outre la forme et la structure, il faut aussi décrire la sémantique des OP. Ainsi, nous proposons un schéma de modélisation d'OP d'après la norme LOM (Learning Object Metadata), en utilisant un modèle de données de type RDF (Ressource Description Framework). Pour encoder, échanger et réutiliser les métadonnées structurées d'OP, nous avons implémenté l'application RDF4LOM (RDF for LOM). Le recours aux outils du Web sémantique nous permet de proposer le prototype d'une plateforme sémantique d'apprentissage (SLCMS), qui valorise à la fois les ressources internes, les OP modélisés avec RDF, ainsi que les ressources externes (wikis, blogs ou encore agendas sémantiques). L'architecture du SLCMS est basée sur un Noyau sémantique capable d'interpréter les métadonnées et de créer des requêtes intelligentes. Pour la description des contraintes sémantiques et des raisonnements sur les OP, nous utilisons les ontologies. Grâce à des ontologies précises et complètes, les OP seront « interprétables » et « compréhensibles » par les machines. Pour le module Quiz sémantique, nous avons modélisé l'ontologie Quiz et l'ontologie LMD. La plateforme sémantique d'apprentissage permet la recherche d'OP pertinents, la génération de parcours personnalisés pour les apprenants et, en perspective, l'adaptabilité aux styles d'apprentissage
In order to make Learning Objects (LO) accessible, reusable and adaptable, it is necessary to model them. Besides form and structure, one must also define the semantics associated with a given LO. Thus, we propose a modeling scheme for LOs that respects the LOM (Learning Object Metadata) standard and which uses a RDF-based (Resource Description Framework) data model. In order to encode, exchange and reuse such structured metadata for LOs, we have developed the RDF4LOM (RDF for LOM) application. By using Semantic Web tools, we are able to deliver a prototype of a semantic learning platform (SLCMS) that enhances internal resources, LOs modeled with RDF as well as external resources (semantic wikis, blogs or calendars). The architecture of this SLCMS is based upon a semantic Kernel whose role is to interpret metadata and create intelligent queries. We use ontologies, for the description of semantic constraints and reasoning rules concerning the LOs. By means of accurate and complete ontologies, the LOs will be machine-interpretable and also machine-understandable. For the semantic Quiz module, we have developed the Quiz and LMD ontologies. The semantic learning platform enables searching for appropriate LOs, generating personalized learning paths for learners and, as en evolution, adaptation to learning styles

Abstract:
Des Réseaux de Capteurs Sans Fil (RdCSF) deviennent omniprésents et sont utilisés dans diverses applications domaines. Ils sont les pierres angulaires de l'émergence de l'Internet des Objets (IdO) paradigme. Déploiements traditionnels de réseaux de capteurs sont spécifiques à un domaine, avec des applications généralement incrustés dans le RdCSF, excluant la ré-utilisation de l'infrastructure par d'autres applications. Maintenant, avec l'avènement de l'IdO, cette approche est de moins en moins viable. Une solution possible réside dans le partage d'une même RdCSF par de plusieurs applications et services, y compris même les applications et services qui ne sont pas envisagées lors du déploiement de RdCSF. Deux principaux développements majeurs ont conduit à cette solution potentielle. Premièrement, comme les nœuds de RdCSF sont de plus en plus puissants, il devient de plus en plus pertinent de rechercher comment pourrait plusieurs applications partager les mêmes déploiements WSN. La deuxième évolution est le Cloud Computing paradigme qui promeut des ressources et de la rentabilité en appliquant le concept de virtualisation les ressources physiques disponibles. Grâce à ces développements de cette thèse fait les contributions suivantes. Tout d'abord, un vaste état de la revue d'art est présenté qui présente les principes de base de RdCSF la virtualisation et sa pertinence avec précaution motive les scénarios sélectionnés. Les travaux existants sont présentés en détail et évaluées de manière critique en utilisant un ensemble d'exigences provenant du scénario. Cette contribution améliore sensiblement les critiques actuelles sur l'état de l'art en termes de portée, de la motivation, de détails, et les questions de recherche futures. La deuxième contribution se compose de deux parties: la première partie est une nouvelle architecture de virtualization RdCSF multicouche permet l'approvisionnement de plusieurs applications et services au cours du même déploiement de RdCSF. Il est mis en œuvre et évaluée en utilisant un prototype basé sur un scénario de preuve de concept en utilisant le kit Java SunSpot. La deuxième partie de cette contribution est l'architecture étendue qui permet à l’infrastructure virtualisée RdCSF d'interagir avec un RdCSF Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) à un niveau d'abstraction plus élevé. Grâce à ces améliorations RdCSF PaaS peut provisionner des applications et des services RdCSF aux utilisateurs finaux que Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Les premiers résultats sont présentés sur la base de l'implantation de l'architecture améliorée en utilisant le kit Java SunSpot. La troisième contribution est une nouvelle architecture d'annotation de données pour les applications sémantiques dans les environnements virtualisés les RdCSF. Il permet en réseau annotation de données et utilise des superpositions étant la pierre angulaire. Nous utilisons la base ontologie de domaine indépendant d'annoter les données du capteur. Un prototype de preuve de concept, basé sur un scénario, est développé et mis en œuvre en utilisant Java SunSpot, Kits AdvanticSys et Google App Engine. La quatrième et dernière contribution est l'amélioration à l'annotation de données proposée l'architecture sur deux fronts. L'un est l'extension à l'architecture proposée pour soutenir la création d'ontologie, de la distribution et la gestion. Le deuxième front est une heuristique génétique basée algorithme utilisé pour la sélection de noeuds capables de stocker l'ontologie de base. L'extension de la gestion d'ontologie est mise en oeuvre et évaluée à l'aide d'un prototype de validation de principe à l'aide de Java kit SunSpot, tandis que les résultats de la simulation de l'algorithme sont présentés
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are becoming ubiquitous and are used in diverse applications domains. Traditional deployments of WSNs are domain-specific, with applications usually embedded in the WSN, precluding the re-use of the infrastructure by other applications. This can lead to redundant deployments. Now with the advent of IoT, this approach is less and less viable. A potential solution lies in the sharing of a same WSN by multiple applications and services, to allow resource- and cost-efficiency. In this dissertation, three architectural solutions are proposed for this purpose. The first solution consists of two parts: the first part is a novel multilayer WSN virtualization architecture that allows the provisioning of multiple applications and services over the same WSN deployment. The second part of this contribution is the extended architecture that allows virtualized WSN infrastructure to interact with a WSN Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) at a higher level of abstraction. Both these solutions are implemented and evaluated using two scenario-based proof-of-concept prototypes using Java SunSpot kit. The second architectural solution is a novel data annotation architecture for the provisioning of semantic applications in virtualized WSNs. It is capable of providing in-network, distributed, real-time annotation of raw sensor data and uses overlays as the cornerstone. This architecture is implemented and evaluated using Java SunSpot, AdvanticSys kits and Google App Engine. The third architectural solution is the enhancement to the data annotation architecture on two fronts. One is a heuristic-based genetic algorithm used for the selection of capable nodes for storing the base ontology. The second front is the extension to the proposed architecture to support ontology creation, distribution and management. The simulation results of the algorithm are presented and the ontology management extension is implemented and evaluated using a proof-of-concept prototype using Java SunSpot kit. As another contribution, an extensive state-of-the-art review is presented that introduces the basics of WSN virtualization and motivates its pertinence with carefully selected scenarios. This contribution substantially improves current state-of-the-art reviews in terms of the scope, motivation, details, and future research issues

Le dictionnaire LVF (Les Verbes Français) de J. Dubois et F. Dubois-Charlier représente une des ressources lexicales les plus importantes dans la langue française qui est caractérisée par une description sémantique et syntaxique très pertinente. Le LVF a été mis disponible sous un format XML pour rendre l’accès aux informations plus commode pour les applications informatiques telles que les applications de traitement automatique de la langue française. Avec l’émergence du web sémantique et la diffusion rapide de ses technologies et standards tels que XML, RDF/RDFS et OWL, il serait intéressant de représenter LVF en un langage plus formalisé afin de mieux l’exploiter par les applications du traitement automatique de la langue ou du web sémantique. Nous en présentons dans ce mémoire une version ontologique OWL en détaillant le processus de transformation de la version XML à OWL et nous en démontrons son utilisation dans le domaine du traitement automatique de la langue avec une application d’annotation sémantique développée dans GATE.
The LVF dictionary (Les Verbes Français) by J. Dubois and F. Dubois-Charlier is one of the most important lexical resources in the French language, which is characterized by a highly relevant semantic and syntactic description. The LVF has been available in an XML format to make access to information more convenient for computer applications such as NLP applications for French language. With the emergence of the Semantic Web and the rapid diffusion of its technologies and standards such as XML, RDF/RDFS and OWL, it would be interesting to represent LVF in a more formalized format for a better and more sophisticated usage by natural language processing and semantic web applications. We present in this paper an OWL ontology version of LVF by demonstrating the mapping process between the data model elements of the XML version and OWL. We give account about its use in the field of natural language processing by presenting an application of semantic annotation developed in GATE.

How can we transform urban environments to encourage durability and mediate the social price of myriad risks and vulnerability?Our work here is to build a bridge from archaeology to mainstream architectural and design theory. The study of places, landscapes, and regions links the two fields. Architecture can be shaped and enhanced by the long-term cultural and geographic perspective afforded by archaeology; architecture can offer archaeology a ride into the future. We hope that our efforts are novel enough to be inspiring and connected enough to allow existing concepts to be furthered. The bridge unites three domains: material, social, and aesthetic. We look to the past to find material technologies—new engineering and conceptual solutions to an array of problems—and the past obliges with many examples. However, these technologies in their material aspects are only part of the story. The archaeologist sees them as playing a role in a system. This system, while mechanically functional, is also profoundly social: it includes administrative structures, but also innumerable other kinds of relationships—kin groups, neighborhoods, genders—that mirror the embedded relations between humans and nature. As in architecture, systems include semantics and aesthetics: not only are these forms pleasing to the eye, but they also tell stories of history and place and give identity and meaning to the lives in which they are enmeshed. This multi-functionality and multi-vocality are inherent in past systems.

The monograph reflects the problems of Russian psycholinguistics from the moment of its inception in Russia to the present day and presents its main directions that are currently developing. In addition, theoretical developments and practical results obtained in the framework of different directions and research centers are described in a concise form. The task of the book is to reflect, as far as it is possible in one edition, firstly, the history of the formation of Russian psycholinguistics; secondly, its methodology and developed methods; thirdly, the results obtained in different research centers and directions in different regions of Russia; fourthly, to outline the main directions of the further development of Russian psycholinguistics. There is no doubt that in the theoretical, methodological and applied aspects, the main problems and the results of their development by Russian psycholinguistics have no analogues in world linguistics and psycholinguistics, or are represented by completely original concepts and methods. We have tried to show this uniqueness of the problematics and the methodological equipment of Russian psycholinguistics in this book. The main role in the formation of Russian psycholinguistics was played by the Moscow psycholinguistic school of A.A. Leontyev. It still defines the main directions of Russian psycholinguistics. Russian psycholinguistics (the theory of speech activity - TSA) is based on the achievements of Russian psychology: a cultural-historical approach to the analysis of mental phenomena L.S. Vygotsky and the system-activity approach of A.N. Leontyev. Moscow is the most "psycholinguistic region" of Russia - INL RAS, Moscow State University, Moscow State Linguistic University, RUDN, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Moscow State Pedagogical University, Sechenov University, Moscow State University and other Moscow universities. Saint Petersburg psycholinguists have significant achievements, especially in the study of neurolinguistic problems, ontolinguistics. The most important feature of Russian psycholinguistics is the widespread development of psycholinguistics in the regions, the emergence of recognized psycholinguistic research centers - St. Petersburg, Tver, Saratov, Perm, Ufa, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Kursk, Chelyabinsk; psycholinguistics is represented in Cherepovets, Ivanovo, Volgograd, Vyatka, Kaluga, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, Abakan, Maikop, Barnaul, Ulan-Ude, Yakutsk, Syktyvkar, Armavir and other cities; in Belarus - Minsk, in Ukraine - Lvov, Chernivtsi, Kharkov, in the DPR - Donetsk, in Kazakhstan - Alma-Ata, Chimkent. Our researchers work in Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, China, France, Switzerland. There are Russian psycholinguists in Canada, USA, Israel, Austria and a number of other countries. All scientists from these regions and countries have contributed to the development of Russian psycholinguistics, to the development of psycholinguistic theory and methods of psycholinguistic research. Their participation has not been forgotten. We tried to present the main Russian psycholinguists in the Appendix - in the sections "Scientometrics", "Monographs and Manuals" and "Dissertations", even if there is no information about them in the Electronic Library and RSCI. The principles of including scientists in the scientometric list are presented in the Appendix. Our analysis of the content of the resulting monograph on psycholinguistic research in Russia allows us to draw preliminary conclusions about some of the distinctive features of Russian psycholinguistics: 1. cultural-historical approach to the analysis of mental phenomena of L.S.Vygotsky and the system-activity approach of A.N. Leontiev as methodological basis of Russian psycholinguistics; 2. theoretical nature of psycholinguistic research as a characteristic feature of Russian psycholinguistics. Our psycholinguistics has always built a general theory of the generation and perception of speech, mental vocabulary, linked specific research with the problems of ontogenesis, the relationship between language and thinking; 3. psycholinguistic studies of speech communication as an important subject of psycholinguistics; 4. attention to the psycholinguistic analysis of the text and the development of methods for such analysis; 5. active research into the ontogenesis of linguistic ability; 6. investigation of linguistic consciousness as one of the important subjects of psycholinguistics; 7. understanding the need to create associative dictionaries of different types as the most important practical task of psycholinguistics; 8. widespread use of psycholinguistic methods for applied purposes, active development of applied psycholinguistics. The review of the main directions of development of Russian psycholinguistics, carried out in this monograph, clearly shows that the direction associated with the study of linguistic consciousness is currently being most intensively developed in modern Russian psycholinguistics. As the practice of many years of psycholinguistic research in our country shows, the subject of study of psycholinguists is precisely linguistic consciousness - this is a part of human consciousness that is responsible for generating, understanding speech and keeping language in consciousness. Associative experiments are the core of most psycholinguistic techniques and are important both theoretically and practically. The following main areas of practical application of the results of associative experiments can be outlined. 1. Education. Associative experiments are the basis for constructing Mind Maps, one of the most promising tools for systematizing knowledge, assessing the quality, volume and nature of declarative knowledge (and using special techniques and skills). Methods based on smart maps are already widely used in teaching foreign languages, fast and deep immersion in various subject areas. 2. Information search, search optimization. The results of associative experiments can significantly improve the quality of information retrieval, its efficiency, as well as adaptability for a specific person (social group). When promoting sites (promoting them in search results), an associative experiment allows you to increase and improve the quality of the audience reached. 3. Translation studies, translation automation. An associative experiment can significantly improve the quality of translation, take into account intercultural and other social characteristics of native speakers. 4. Computational linguistics and automatic word processing. The results of associative experiments make it possible to reveal the features of a person's linguistic consciousness and contribute to the development of automatic text processing systems in a wide range of applications of natural language interfaces of computer programs and robotic solutions. 5. Advertising. The use of data on associations for specific words, slogans and texts allows you to predict and improve advertising texts. 6. Social relationships. The analysis of texts using the data of associative experiments makes it possible to assess the tonality of messages (negative / positive moods, aggression and other characteristics) based on user comments on the Internet and social networks, in the press in various projections (by individuals, events, organizations, etc.) from various social angles, to diagnose the formation of extremist ideas. 7. Content control and protection of personal data. Associative experiments improve the quality of content detection and filtering by identifying associative fields in areas subject to age restrictions, personal information, tobacco and alcohol advertising, incitement to ethnic hatred, etc. 8. Gender and individual differences. The data of associative experiments can be used to compare the reactions (and, in general, other features of thinking) between men and women, different social and age groups, representatives of different regions. The directions for the further development of Russian psycholinguistics from the standpoint of the current state of psycholinguistic science in the country are seen by us, first of all:  in the development of research in various areas of linguistic consciousness, which will contribute to the development of an important concept of speech as a verbal model of non-linguistic consciousness, in which knowledge revealed by social practice and assigned by each member of society during its inculturation is consolidated for society and on its behalf;  in the expansion of the problematics, which is formed under the influence of the growing intercultural communication in the world community, which inevitably involves the speech behavior of natural and artificial bilinguals in the new object area of psycholinguistics;  in using the capabilities of national linguistic corpora in the interests of researchers studying the functioning of non-linguistic and linguistic consciousness in speech processes;  in expanding research on the semantic perception of multimodal texts, the scope of which has greatly expanded in connection with the spread of the Internet as a means of communication in the life of modern society;  in the inclusion of the problems of professional communication and professional activity in the object area of psycholinguistics in connection with the introduction of information technologies into public practice, entailing the emergence of new professions and new features of the professional ethos;  in the further development of the theory of the mental lexicon (identifying the role of different types of knowledge in its formation and functioning, the role of the word as a unit of the mental lexicon in the formation of the image of the world, as well as the role of the natural / internal metalanguage and its specificity in speech activity);  in the broad development of associative lexicography, which will meet the most diverse needs of society and cognitive sciences. The development of associative lexicography may lead to the emergence of such disciplines as associative typology, associative variantology, associative axiology;  in expanding the spheres of applied use of psycholinguistics in social sciences, sociology, semasiology, lexicography, in the study of the brain, linguodidactics, medicine, etc. This book is a kind of summarizing result of the development of Russian psycholinguistics today. Each section provides a bibliography of studies on the relevant issue. The Appendix contains the scientometrics of leading Russian psycholinguists, basic monographs, psycholinguistic textbooks and dissertations defended in psycholinguistics. The content of the publications presented here is convincing evidence of the relevance of psycholinguistic topics and the effectiveness of the development of psycholinguistic problems in Russia.

Current technology has an important role in many areas, offering numerously possibilities and activities, which were considered traditionally in the past, now can be found on the web. Is already known that we are living in a digital era, where society needs contributed to technological developments and created a more accessible and usable web. Basically we can say that e-learning is a strategy for making information and knowledge in a certain domain more accessible. E-learning represents a way for fast delivering of knowledge and is helping us learning anything, anywhere and anytime. In year 2003, Derek Stockley defined the e-learning as "the delivery of a learning, training or education program by electronic means. E-learning involves the use of a computer or electronic device (e.g. a mobile phone) in some way to provide training, educational or learning material. " As the technology is evolving day by day, also the e-learning needs to evolve in order to keep up. Web and semantic technologies are a very complex and abstract domain, being very adaptable in any field, like IT, business or banking and they are regarded as an advantage. Currently, the idea of web and semantic technologies has spread greatly and the newest version is web 3.0. Web 3.0 appeared because people need to optimize the relationship between the user and the web environment. The new web 3.0 facilitates the using of electronic media in e-learning environment, providing a more flexible integration approach. Semantic technology offers the possibility for the machine to understand human requirements, using semantic structures. The evolution of web and semantic technologies, highlight the advantages of using those in e-learning. The potential of semantic technologies is applied on e-learning and used to provide great quality education. It can be said that e-learning is depending on semantic technologies. The new web 3.0 and semantic technologies are applied in e-Learning, offering benefits and improvements for the e-learning environment.

Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the problem of the bibliometric study of publications on the topic “Cross-lingual Semantic Similarity”, available in the Dimensions database. Visualization of scientific networks showed fragmentation of research, limited interaction of organizations. Leading countries, leading organizations and authors are highlighted. Overlay visualization allowed us to assess the trends in citing authors. The expansion of the geography of research is shown. For international cooperation, the uniformity of semantic approaches to describing the concepts of critical infrastructure, incidents, resources and services related to their maintenance and protection is important. The stated approaches can be applied for visualization and modeling of technological development in the modern digital world. Semantic similarity is a longstanding problem in natural language processing (NLP). The semantic similarity between two words represents the semantic proximity (or semantic distance) between two words or concepts. This is an important problem in natural language processing, as it plays an important role in finding information, extracting information, text mining, web mining and many other applications.

The storage and retrieval of medical images manipulated by systems that support breast cancer detection can take great advantage from the use of such technology. Abstract:
The article examines modern media texts in the field of political journalism; the role of information narratives and emotional markers in media doctrine is clarified; verbal expression of rational meanings in the articles of famous Ukrainian analysts is shown. Popular theories of emotions in the process of cognition are considered, their relationship with the author’s personality, reader psychology and gonzo journalism is shown. Since the media text, in contrast to the text, is a product of social communication, the main narrative is information with the intention of influencing public opinion. Media text implies the presence of the author as a creator of meanings. In addition, media texts have universal features: word, sound, visuality (stills, photos, videos). They are traditionally divided into radio, TV, newspaper and Internet texts. The concepts of multimedia and hypertext are related to online texts. Web combinations, especially in political journalism, have intensified the interactive branching of nonlinear texts that cannot be published in traditional media. The Internet as a medium has created the conditions for the exchange of ideas in the most emotional way. Hence Gonzo’s interest in journalism, which expresses impressions of certain events in words and epithets, regardless of their stylistic affiliation. There are many such examples on social media in connection with the events surrounding the Wagnerians, the Poroshenko case, Russia’s new aggression against Ukraine, and others. Thus, the study of new features of media text in the context of modern political narratives and emotional markers is important in media research. The article focuses review of etymology, origin and features of using lexemes “cмисл (meaning)” and “сенс (sense)” in linguistic practice of Ukrainians results in the development of meanings and functional stylistic coloring in the usage of these units. Lexemes “cмисл (meaning)” and “сенс (sense)” are used as synonyms, but there are specific fields of meanings where they cannot be interchanged: lexeme “сенс (sense)” should be used when it comes to reasonable grounds for something, lexeme “cмисл (meaning)” should be used when it comes to notion, concept, understanding. Modern political texts are most prominent in genres such as interviews with politicians, political commentaries, analytical articles by media experts and journalists, political reviews, political portraits, political talk shows, and conversations about recent events, accompanied by effective emotional narratives. Etymologically, the concept of “narrative” is associated with the Latin adjective “gnarus” – expert. Speakers, philosophers, and literary critics considered narrative an “example of the human mind.” In modern media texts it is not only “story”, “explanation”, “message techniques”, “chronological reproduction of events”, but first of all the semantic load and what subjective meanings the author voices; it is a process of logical presentation of arguments (narration). The highly professional narrator uses narration as a “method of organizing discourse” around facts and impressions, impresses with his political erudition, extraordinary intelligence and creativity. Some of the above theses are reflected in the following illustrations from the Ukrainian media: “Culture outside politics” – a pro-Russian narrative…” (MP Gabibullayeva); “The next will be Russia – in the post-Soviet space is the Arab Spring…” (journalist Vitaly Portnikov); “In Russia, only the collapse of Ukraine will be perceived as success” (Pavel Klimkin); “Our army is fighting, hiding from the leadership” (Yuri Butusov).
