Abstract:
Reading and understanding texts in English is problematic for university EFL students in Libya, and processing English literature is even more so. Some of these difficulties are related to teacher-centered approaches that focus on form, accuracy, and translation rather than on students’ abilities to make meaning. The aim of this study is to determine an instructional approach to help Libyan EFL university students learn to read and respond to fiction (short stories) by drawing on their imagination. Therefore, this study set out to explore the role of the imagination in meaning making in education (Vygotsky, 1930; Dewey, 1938; Egan, 1992; Craft, 2005), the role that literature plays in Libyan culture (in both its oral and written forms), the role of education in Libya and the place of English therein, and the challenges of reading in a second language (English). By analyzing the literature on the imagination and its role in learning, on reading processes in L1 and L2, on Reader-Response Theory, and on the process of meaning making in literature, I was able to answer the first research question, namely how the imagination could be stimulated and developed to extend Libyan EFL students’ abilities to read and respond to short stories. Then I synthesized that analysis into a conceptual model. Features of the imagination that have been conceptualized in the model for imaginative reading and meaning making include: schema (background knowledge and experience); the interactive theory of reading; the role of the imagination in learning (meaning making), which includes an intellectual faculty or ‘analytical thinking’ and an emotional faculty or what is called ‘intersubjectivity’; the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD); and possibility thinking. The next stage was to demonstrate that this model could be applied to the design of a reading program which makes a transition from a teacher-centered and translation-centered approach to reading literature (short stories) to a student-centered and interactive approach. The study relates the model to the literature on syllabus design to set up a framework for selecting and grading texts into five levels. I drew on the literature for interactive task design and standard EFL approaches of teaching reading to design lesson plans for the five stages of the program. The study concludes by suggesting that for the successful implementation of the model, there is a need for a shift in attitudes to more interactive approaches that facilitate meaning making. It also suggests conducting a series of workshops to introduce interactive teaching approaches and provide teachers with techniques for dealing with the challenges of shifting from teacher-centered to student-centered teaching. Finally, the thesis provides ideas on how to further the current research by evaluating the effectiveness of the program through empirical enquiry.

Pubblicato nel 1974, Yo el Supremo definisce l’idea di pensiero su parola e approccio alla storia di Augusto Roa Bastos. Sintesi del binomio oralità/scrittura che converge nel bilinguismo paraguaiano, sancisce l’impossibilità di creare un discorso assoluto attraverso il testo storico e il testo letterario. La parola scritta, elemento falsificatore e manipolatore della realtà in quanto portatrice del discorso ufficiale che si identifica con il discorso storico, viene decostruita attraverso dalla contrapposizione con la parola orale, portatrice della memoria viva, che mantiene il discorso collettivo del ricordo. Costruito su una pluralità di testi e voci che si sovrappongono e mostrano la realtà da diverse prospettive Yo el Supremo mette in continuo dialogo la volontà di potere del Supremo iscritta dalla Circular perpetua, con la volontà di libertà delle voci e dei testi che si contrappongono a tale discorso assoluto distruggendolo.
Published in 1974, Yo el Supremo defines the ideas on word and history that typify the work of Augusto Roa Bastos as a writer. The synthesis of the duality between orality and writing converges in paraguaian bilinguism and Yo el Supremo sanctions the impossibility of creating an absolutist discourse. The written word falsifies and manipulates the reality that is considered as the bringer of the official discourse of history and it is deconstructed by opposition with the oral word, keeper of the collective memory. Constructed on a plurality of texts and voices that superimpose and reveal reality from different perspectives, Yo el Supremo puts in continuous dialogue the will to power of the Supreme that is described in the Circular perpetua, with the will to freedom of the voices and texts that confront this discourse, destroying it.

Syfte: Syftet med studien är att undersöka på vilket sätt företagets finansiella prestation påverkar styrelsens storlek i företag registrerade på Stockholmsbörsen. Metod:För att undersöka sambandet mellan finansiell prestation och antal styrelseledamöter genomfördes en kvantitativ studie med hjälp av datainsamling från urvalets årsredovisningar.  Slutsats: Studien finner ingen signifikans mellan företagens finansiella prestation och storleken på styrelserna utifrån variablerna ROE och ROA vilket gör att vi inte med säkerhet kan säga om det finns ett samband mellan dessa. Baserat på tidigare studier går det däremot att se ett positivt samband i denna studie.

Abstract:
Cilj istraživanja je da se dokumentuju različiti identiteti profesorki univerziteta koje su otišle iz Srbije u razne akademske sredine u svetu i ostvarile profesionalnu karijeru.Hipoteze su shodno cilju rada:H-1: Prva hipoteza je da su profesorke u akademskoj dijaspori otišle u inostranstvo kako bi uspešno izgradile profesionalnu karijeru u vreme kada u zemlji porekla za to nisu postojali dovoljni uslovi u onim naučnim disciplinama za koje su se one opredelile.H-2: Druga hipoteza je da sve profesorke u akademskoj dijaspori imaju promenljive, višestruke identitete.H-3: Treća hipoteza je da empirijski podaci o životu profesorki u akademskoj dijaspori pomažu da se izgradi strategija saradnje profesorki iz dijaspore sa univerzitetskim centrima ovde.Osnovni i kontrolni korpus za analizu čini 21 životna priča profesorki koje su obrazovanje za karijeru stekle na univerzitetima u Srbiji, a profesionalnu karijeru ostvarile u raznim zemljama Evrope i sveta. Audio zapisi snimljenog razgovora za ukupno 11 profesorki, zabeleženi tokom šest godina (2009-2015), audio zapisom (24 sata) na osnovu polustrukturiranog upitnika, transrkibovani u formu pisanog teksta (256 stranica). Kao kontrolni korpus empirijskih podatka su objavljenih 10 životnih priča profesorki sa Univerzitetu u Novom Sadu (Savić 2015). Osnovni kriterijumi za odbir žena su: da su rođene u Republici Srbiji (gde su provele detinjstvo, deo ili svo obrazovanje), a ostvarile akademsku karijeru u nekoj od zemalja sveta.Podaci pokazuju da su sve profesorke uskladile profesionalni i privatni život i da je jedan hranio drugi u njihovoj uspešnoj karijeri.Za profesionalni rad i za odlazak u zemlje destinacije (prijema) profesorke su imale podršku bračnih partnera, koja je bila neohodna, s obzirom na činjenicu da su sve profesorke u akademskoj dijaspori nailazile na brojne prepreke i izazove od momenta odlaska iz zemlje porekla i tokom građenja karijere (na primer, neke su visoko školovanje ponovile, ili su promenile profesiju ili oblast kojom se bave, a deo je nastavio usavršavanje).Obrazovanje je presudno i za vaspitanje potomstva - vrhunsko obrazovanje u skladu sa željama i afinitetima svoje dece.Jezički identitet profesorki u akademskoj dijaspori povezan je sa profesionalnom orijentacijom više nego sa nacionalnim identitetom.Profesorke su se trudile da njihova deca u dijaspori nauče maternji jezik (jezike) roditelja, iako su deca rođena, ili najveći deo svog života, provode u zemlji destinacije, pa se može govoriti o dva (ili više) maternjih jezika.Najupečatljivija sličnost profesorki UNS i profesorki u akademskoj dijaspori je njihova jednaka želja i volja za obrazovanjem, usavršavanjem i napredovanjem u struci i naučnom radu, bez obzira na cenu i prepreke sa kojima su suočene.Takođe, jednako važna sličnost jeste diskriminacija sa kojom se susreću u građenju svojih karijera, profesorke UNS prilikom napredovanja, a profesorke u akademskoj dijaspori prilikom zaposlenja, bavljenja svojom strukom i, takođe, eventualnog napredovanja.Sve profesorke u akademskoj dijaspori žele profesionalno da sarađuju sa univerzitetima i naučnim (i drugim) institucijama u Srbiji, ali ne postoji sistemsko rešenje za takvu saradnju u sadašnjem trenutku u Srbiji.Ženska iskustva ovde objedinjena svedoče o neiskorišćenim resursima, izostalim u saradnji i angažmanu profesorki iz akademske dijaspore u Srbiji danas. Ona mogu dobro poslužiti za sačinjavanje dugoročne strategije o implementaciji znanja i postignuća akademskih profesorki u domaćem okuženju.Značajno je što se u okviru interdisciplinarnih rodnim studija objedinjuje problematika migracija žena, naročito povezano sa profesijama, jer je izvesno da će migracije biti dugoročna tema u budućnosti cele civilizacije. Postoje programi i predmeti koji se bave visokim obrazovanjem žena u profesijama i na kojima se izvode istraživački projekti na kojima se sakuplja empirijski materijal.Mogućnost primene rezultata:1. Empirijski podaci o identitetu akademski obrazovanih žena iz dijaspore, od kojih je jedan i rodni, poslužiće u teorijskoj raspravi o odnosu elemenata identiteta u odnosu na rod.2. Empirijski podaci mogu dobro poslužiti u praksi za predlog strategije za saradnju, eventualni povratak, akademski usmerenih žena iz dijaspore u akademsku elitu u Republici Srbiji (i regionu bivše Jugoslavije).3. Bogaćenje postojeće baze podataka životnih priča žena u Republici Srbiji iz različitih nacionalnih zajednica koje su svoje živote ostvarile u 20. i 21. veku.Rezultati doktorske disertacije treba da posluže u razvijanju strategije o implementaciji postignuća akademskih žena u domaćem okuženju.
The goal of the research is to document different identities of female university professors who left Serbia and went to other academic communities throughout the world, in order to achieve their professional career.Hypothesis of the work:H-1: First hypothesis is that female professors of the academic diaspora have left their countries in order to be able to successfully build their professional careers elsewhere, during times when it was impossible for them to do so in their own countries, due to lack of sufficient conditions which would facilitate their domestic careers.H-2: Second hypothesis is that all professors in the academic diaspora have variable, multiple identities.H-3: Third hypothesis: empirical data on lives of professors within the academic diaspora are helpful in building of the cooperation strategy between the professors from diaspora and domestic university centres.The basic and control group of analysis consists of 21 life stories of female professors who have acquired their career education within Serbian universities, while their professional career was established in different countries in Europe and throughout the world. Audio recordings of 11 professors, made during a period of six years (2009-2015) in a form of conversations according to previously prepared semi-structured questionnaires (24h of audio material), were transcribed to a form of written text (256 pages in total). 10 life stories of University of Novi Sad's female professors were published as a control material (Savic 2015). The basic criteria for the selection of women: they were all born in the Republic of Serbia (where they have spent their childhood and finished some or all of their education), while achieving their career somewhere else in the world, outside Serbia.The data shows that all professors have managed to balance their professional and private life, and it turned out that "one" was facilitating the "other", during their successful career.All professors had support of their spouses for their professional work as well as for relocation to foreign countries. Such support proved to be necessary, since all of them encountered obstacles and challenges within the academic diaspora, from the moment they left their country as well as during their professional career (e.g.: some of them had to repeat/retake their higher education, or to change the profession or area/field of work, while some of them continued with their academic specialization).Education proved crucial for upbringing of their children, too. Top notch education according to desires and affinities of their children.Language identity of the professors within the academic diaspora is more connected to their professional orientation than to their national identities.Professors have tried to teach their children their mother tongue, even though they were born (or have spent the most of their lives) in foreign countries, so it wouold be safe to say that those children have two (or more) languages that they consider as their native.The most striking resemblance between the professors of the Novi Sad University (UNS) and professors in academic diaspora is their equal desire and thrive for education and advancement within their science and field of work, regardless of the cost and obstacles they have encountered, during that journey.Equaly important similarity is the discrimination they have faced during their careers. UNS professors have faced discrimination on their scientific path and advancement, while academic diaspora professors have faced it regarding their employment, their field of expertise and possible advancement, as well.All professors from academic diaspora are willing to cooperate with universities and other scientific institutions in Serbia, but the lack of systematic solutions for such cooperation in Serbia at this point is preventing them to do so.Female experiences encompassed here, are witnessing the unused resources, which are missing when it comes to cooperation and engagement of academic diaspora professors in Serbia today. They can serve as a starting point for making a longterm strategy on implementation of knowledge and achievements of female academic professors in domestic surroundings.It is significant that the issue of female migration, especially when it is connected to their work and profession, is intertwined within the interdisciplinary gender studies, since it is certain that migrations will be a longterm subject in the future of the whole civilisation. There are programs and courses dealing with higher education of women, collecting empirical material during research projects.Possibilities for application of results:1. Empirical data on identitiy of academically educated women from diaspora (gender being one of them) will serve during theoretical discussions on relationship of the elements of identity and gender.2.Empirical data have practical significance, as they may serve as a proposition and starting point of the cooperation strategy, as well as for the possible return of the female academic experts from the diaspora back to academic elite of Serbia (and the Ex-YU region).3. Enrichment of the existing data base of life stories of women from the Republic of Serbia, members of different national communities, who have accomplished their lives in the 20th and 21st century.The results of the PhD thesis should serve the development of a strategy on implementation of academic women's achievements, in domestic surroundings.

Cilj istraţivanja je da pokaţem: 1. na koji naĉin formalno i neformalno obrazovanje utiĉe na formiranje rodnog identiteta koji je u suodnosu sa profesionalnim identitetom; 2. na koji naĉin je proces feminizacije novinarske profesije u kontekstu društva, porodice, obrazovanja i medija.H-1: Formalno akademsko obrazovanje ima znaĉajan uticaj na kvalitetan profesionalni rad novinarki ali nedovoljan za rodno osetljiv pristup.H-2: Neformalno obrazovanje u smislu celoživotnog usavršavanja doprinosi profesionalnijem radu novinarki naroĉito u istraživaĉkom novinarstvu, kao i rodno osetljivom medijskom izveštavanju.H-3. Veći broj žena na pozicijama moći ne dovodi nužno do rodno osetljivog pristupa u medijima, te na taj naĉin ne doprinosi promeni sistema vrednosti koji bi vodio ka ravnopravnijem položaju žena u društvu.H-4: žene u novinarskoj profesiji potiskuju rodni identitet u odnosu na profesionalni.Osnovni teorijski okvir se oslanja na teoriju „drugosti‟.Osnovni istraživaĉki metod su životne priĉe, kao jedan od dominantnih metoda u rodnim studijama, na osnovu kojeg interpretiramo iskustva žena kao svedoĉenja o društvenim, politiĉkim i profesionalnim okolnostima u određenom vremenskom periodu u kontekstu multietniĉke i multikulturalne Vojvodine.Korpus ĉini 16 novinarki koje rade ili su radile u medijima na jezicima razliĉitih nacionalnih zajednica i na jeziku većinskog naroda.Rasvetljavanjem rodne dimenzije razvoja jedne profesije, rezultati istraživanja daju doprinos dekonstrukciji patrijarhalnog društvenog okvira, te putem feministiĉke perspektive utiĉu na bolje razumevanje individualnog i društvenog života u drugoj polovini 20. i poĉetkom 21. veka u Vojvodini.Rezultati istraţivanja pokazuju da ţene u novinarsku profesiju danas ulaze kao „druge‟ bez obzira na broj žena u medijima, upravljaĉke strukture i dalje pripadaju muškarcima - oni imaju profesionalnu i politiĉku moć. Novinarke iz manjinskih nacionalnih zajednica su dvostruko „druge‟ u odnosu na novinarke iz većinske zajednice i muške kolege u sopstvenoj zajednici.Rezultati pokazuju da je formalno visoko obrazovanje vaţno polazište za bavljenje novinarskom profesijom, ali za stepen razvoja profesionalnog identiteta je neophodno i konstatno (celoživotno) neformalno obrazovanje; edukacija o rodnoj ravnopravnosti znaĉajno utiĉe na nivo ostvarenosti rodne novinarske kulture; kod novinarki je izražen rodni identitet, ali je podređen profesionalnom, jer se u sluĉaju većine novinarki rodni identitet shvata kao statiĉki žensko-muški polaritet a ne kao kategorija višestrukih identiteta.Primena rezultata istraţivanja je dvojaka: 1. empirijski podaci o identitetu novinarski iz Vojvodine poslužiće u teorijskoj raspravi o korelaciji rodnog i profesionalnog identiteta ali i komponentama višestrukog identiteta žena u Vojvodini; 2. poslužiće da se proširi postojeća baza podataka životnih priĉa žena pripadnica većinske, ali i manjinskih nacionalnih zajednica i iskoristi za naredna komparativna istraţivanja.
The aim of the research is to show: 1. how formal and informal education affects the formation of gender identity in correlation with the professional identity; 2. The way of the process of feminization of the journalistic profession in the context of society, the family, education and the media.H-1: Formal academic education has a significant impact on the quality professional work of female journalists, but it is insufficient for a gender-sensitive approach.H-2: Non-formal education in terms of lifelong learning contributes to a more professional work of female journalists, especially the ones who are involved in investigative journalism, as well as gender-sensitive media coverage.H-3. A larger number of women in positions of power does not necessarily lead to a gender-sensitive approach in the media, and thus does not contribute to a change in values that would lead to more equal position of women in the society.H-4: Women in journalism suppress gender identity in relation to a professional one.Basic and theoretical framework draws on the theory of 'otherness'.The basic research methods are life stories, as one of the predominant methods in gender studies. We interpret the experience of women through testimonies about social, political and professional circumstances in a particular period and in the context of a multi-ethnic and multicultural Vojvodina.The corpus consists of 16 female journalists who work or have worked in the minority media of ethnic communities, as well as in the language of the majority. By hihlighting gender dimension of development of a profession, the research results should contribute to the deconstruction of patriarchal social framework and lead to better understanding of the impact of individual and social life the second half of the 20th and beginning of the 21st century in Vojvodina through a feminist perspective.The research results show that women in journalism today are included as 'subordinates'. Regardless of the prevalent number of women in the media, the management structure still belongs to men - they have the professional and political power. Journalists from minority communities are double 'subordinates' in relation to the female journalists from the majority community and male colleagues in their own community.The results show that formal higher education is an important starting point for the journalistic profession, but for the further development of professional identity constant (life-long) formal education is necessary; Education on gender equity has a significant impact on the level of achievement in gender-based journalistic culture; with the journalist expressing gender identity, or is subordinate to a professional, as in the case of most journalists gender identity is understood as a static female-male polarity and not as a category of multiple identities.The application of the research results are twofold: 1. empirical data on the identity of the press from Vojvodina will serve as a basis for theoretical discussion on the correlation of gender and professional identity, as well as components of multiple identities of women in Vojvodina; 2. it will serve to expand the existing database of life stories of women who are members of the majority, and minority ethnic communities and should be used for subsequent comparative studies.

Este trabalho apresenta uma pesquisa sobre a formação acadêmico-profissional de licenciandos em Química da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) que participaram do Programa de Incentivo à Docência (PIBID) nos anos de 2009 e 2010. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida com onze licenciandos formandos no curso ao final do PIBID e as informações analisadas foram histórias mensais escritas por estes participantes durante os dois anos do Programa. Alguns pressupostos orientaram a pesquisa: a formação acadêmico-profissional de sujeitos pesquisadores da sua prática em Rodas de Formação, a partir da qual, é possível o acolhimento de questionamentos, a partilha, a escuta, a construção e divulgação de novos argumentos; a escrita como modo de pensar, que por ser uma atividade interativa conta com a presença de interlocutores ativos para provocar o escrevente. Entendemos que quando os escreventes são licenciandos, tem-se na escrita a possibilidade de documentar a formação desses profissionais, conhecendo suas fragilidades e potencialidades. A análise das histórias escritas pelos participantes desta pesquisa, realizada mediante a Análise Textual Discursiva possibilitou a compreensão da contribuição das histórias na formação acadêmico-profissional de licenciandos de Química da FURG em Rodas de Formação. A tese defendida é que as histórias produzidas em Rodas de Formação contribuem para a formação acadêmico-profissional de licenciandos de Química. As histórias contêm conteúdos que podem sinalizar para a produção de currículo nos cursos de Licenciatura, expressam o medo da solidão e a ousadia no trabalho coletivo e potencializam a compreensão sobre a constituição do professor em Roda.
This study presents a research concerning the academic and professional training of Chemistry grad students at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) who joined PIBID (a program that encourages teaching licensing courses) in 2009 and 2010. The research was developed with eleven students at their final year in PIBID program and the data analyzed were stories monthly written by these participants during their two years in the program. Some assumptions guided the study: the academic and professional training of the participants, researchers of their own practices in Wheels of Education, in which welcoming of questions, sharing, hearing and construction and spreading of new issues are possible; as well as writing as a way of thinking, considering it is an interactive activity which counts on the presence of active interlocutors in order to tease the writer. We understand that, when the writers are licensing graduates, their writing shows up a possibility of registering their professional training, getting to know their potentialities and fragilities. The analyses of the stories written by the participants of this research was taken by Textual Discursive Analysis, allowing a greater comprehension of the academic and professional training in the Wheels of Education of Chemistry graduates at FURG. The thesis raised is that stories produced in Wheels of Education have contents that can point out issues for the syllabus of licensing courses which potentiate the academic and professional training of Chemistry graduates and also remark the fear of loneliness and boldness in collective.

Danas je gotovo nepoznat podatak da na katedrama za gudačke instrumente na akademijama umetnosti u regionu od ukupnog broja diplomiranih kadrova većinu čine žene. Otuda je vredna istraživačke pažnje analiza procesa obrazovanja i profesionalnog delovanja u njihovim sredinama tog značajnog broja muzički visoko obrazovanih žena. Upoređivanjem podataka iz tri akademske sredine jugoslovenskog prostora dolazimo do značajnih zaključaka za istoriju ženskog muzičkog nasleđa u regionu na ovom prostoru i za metodiku rada sa budućim kadrovima.Cilj istraživanja je prikupljanje, selekcija i interpretacija podataka o životu diplomiranih izvođačica na gudačkim instrumentima u Novom Sadu, Banjaluci i Zagrebu od osnivanja akademskih institucija do danas, kako bi se skrenula pažnja na pitanje konstruisanja identiteta izvođačica tokom i nakon visokog muzičkog obrazovanja.Hipoteza 1 je da značajan broj diplomiranih izvođačica na gudačkim instrumentima doprinosi promeni svesti o važnosti rodnog identiteta u muzičkoj umetnosti u regionu.Hipoteza 2 je da povećan broj diplomiranih izvođačica na gudačkim instrumentima ne doprinosi promeni svesti o važnosti rodnog identiteta u muzičkoj umetnosti u regionu.Hipoteza 3 je da je profesionalni identitet diplomiranih izvođačica na gudačkim instrumentima nadređen svim drugim komponentama identiteta, uključujući i rodni.Korpus obuhvata diplomirane muzičarke gudačkih instrumenata sa Akademije umetnosti u Novom Sadu (20), u Zagrebu (4)i u Banjaluci (8).Analiza 13 komponenata identiteta (detinjstvo, školovanje, devedesete godine 20. veka, brak, deca, maternji jezik, zatim nacionalni, verski, profesionalni identiteti, zdravlje, članstvo u strukovnim udruženjima i političkim strankama, hobi).Rezultati pokazuju da je prva hipoteza samo delimično tačna, te da je treća hipoteza tačna za ukupan uzorak: sve muzičarke prednost daju profesionalnom identitetu od ranog detinjstva. Empirijski podaci ne potvrđuju stereotip da profesija muzičarke i braka, porodice i dece ne idu zajedno.Rezultati istraživanja su važni koliko za novo sačinjavanje istorije muzike i žena u toj oblasti toliko i za rodne studije, koje se staraju za afirmaciju žena u različitim profesijama u današnjem vremenu. Posebno rezultati treba da obogate nastavnu i metodičku praksu u domenu muzike na svim nivoima obrazovanja kod nas. Podaci iz ovog rada bi mogli (zapravo, morali) da postanu deo udžbeničke literature. Na ovo se nadovezuju i podaci do kojih je došlo ovo istraživanje, a koji svedoče o tome da je u svetu i u regionu jugoslovenskog prostora značajan broj žena doprinosio i još uvek, možda i više nego ikada ranije, doprinosi razvoju muzike i muzičke kulture.
Today is almost unknown the fact that on the string department at the academies of arts in our region most of the graduated students are women. The analysis of this process is worth the research attention of education and professional activities of this, relatively significant number of graduated women string instrumentalists. By comparing data from three cultural backgrounds of ex-Yugoslav territory we come to significant conclusions for the history of women's musical heritage in the region in this area and the methodology of work with future personnel.The aim of the research is the collection, selection and interpretation of data about the life of graduated women performers on stringed instruments in Novi Sad, Banja Luka and Zagreb since the establishment of these academic institutions to present day, in order to draw attention to the issue of constructing identity of women performers during and after the higher music education.Hypothesis 1 is that a significant number of female music performance graduates on string instruments contributes to improving the awareness of the importance of gender identity in the music art in the region.Hypothesis 2 is that the increased number of female music performance graduates on string instruments does not contribute to improving the awareness of the importance of gender identity in the music art in the region.Hypothesis 3 that professional identity of the female music performance graduates on string instruments is superior to all other components of identity, including gender.The corpus includes female music performance graduates on string instruments from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (20), Zagreb (4) and Banja Luka (8).Analysis of the 13 components of identity (childhood, education, nineties of the 20th century, marriage, children, mother tongue, then national, religious, professional identities, health, membership in professional associations and political parties, hobbies).The results show that the first hypothesis is only partly true, and that the third hypothesis is true for the total sample: all the female musicians prefer the professional identity from early childhood. Empirical data do not confirm the stereotype that the profession of a female musician exclude marriage, family and children.The research results are as important as the new drafting history of music and women in this area so much and for gender studies, which are undertaken for the advancement of women in various professions in modern times. In particular, the results would enrich teaching and methodical practice in the field of music education at all levels in our country. Data from this study could (indeed, must) become a part of textbooks. In addition the data that occurred in this research testify to the fact that in the world and in the region Yugoslav territory a significant number of women contributed, and still, perhaps more than ever, contributes to the development of music and musical culture.

Bakgrund Hållbarhet är ett ämne som fått en central roll i dagens samhälle, inte minst inomföretagsvärlden. I och med att förväntningarna på dagens företag ökar när det kommertill att ta ett större samhällsansvar, följer därmed ökade åtaganden inom hållbarhet förföretag. Kunskapsläget vad gäller relationen mellan CSR och lönsamhet är idag splittrat.Tidigare studier har presenterat positiva, negativa såväl som neutrala samband varpå detär av hög relevans för fortsatt utveckling av kunskapsläget. Denna studie kommerav världens mest hållbara länder. Syfte Syftet med studien är att undersöka vilken påverkan svenska företags arbete medCorporate Social Responsibility, har på lönsamhet. Metod Studien tillämpar en kvantitativ metod och utgår från en positivistisk forskningsfilosofimed en hypotetisk-deduktiv ansats. Studien är en tvärsnittsstudie och har genomförtsmed hjälp av en surveyundersökning där informationen om företags arbete med CSRsamlats in med hjälp av enkäter. Vidare har sekundärdata i form av årsredovisningaranvänts för att beräkna nyckeltalen ROA, ROE och ROIC. Studien har använt godtagenmetod för analyserna genom bland annat stöd i tidigare forskning och med hjälp avstatistikprogrammet Minitab. Resultat & slutsats tudiens resultat visar på både positiva, negativa och neutrala samband mellan de fyradimensionerna av CSR och lönsamhetsmåtten ROA, ROE och ROIC. Framför allt stacktvå resultat ut, vilka var H4 och H12, där positiva samband mellan den diskretionäradimensionen och lönsamhet mätt i ROA och ROIC kunde påvisas. Vidare kunde ävennegativa samband påvisas, dock med en låg förklaringsgrad varpå resultatet inte mednågon större säkerhet kunde styrkas. Sammantaget kan studien påvisa att företags arbetemed den diskretionära dimensionen i genomsnitt påverkar företags lönsamhet positivt.Svaret på frågan om vilken påverkan svenska företags arbete med CSR har pålönsamhet kan därför sammanfattas i att olika aktiviteter har olika effekt. Däremot drarstudien slutsatsen att företags diskretionära aktiviteter, såsom att skänka pengar tillvälgörenhet, har en positiv påverkan på lönsamhet och därför något som företag börfortsätta med då det gynnar både företaget och samhället i stort.
Background Sustainability has become a central role in today's society, not least in the companyworld. However, there are divided opinions about the view on Corporate SocialResponsibility. Some argue that companies need to divide their attention to all of theirstakeholders. Others argue that Corporate Social Responsibility does not go along withcompanies main task, which is to produce and generate maximum profit and in that waybe beneficial to society by offering more jobs, which in turn leads to more tax revenueand in the long run contributes to society. Previous research on the impact of CSRprofitability presents results pointing in different directions. Positive, negative as well asneutral impact has been demonstrated. This study will therefore examon profitability in the swedish context as Sweden has shown to be one of the world'smost sustainable countries. Purpose The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of Swedish companies' work withCorporate Social Responsibility on profitability. Method The study applies a quantitative method and is based on a positivistic researchphilosophy with a hypothetico-deductive approach. The study is a cross-sectional studyand has been carried out with the help of a survey where the information aboutcompanies' work with CSR was collected with the help of questionnaires. Furthermore,secondary data has been retrieved from annual reports which have been used tocalculate the key figures ROA, ROE and ROIC. The study used an accepted method forthe analysis through the use of previous studies and with the help of the statisticsprogram Minitab. Result & conclusion The study's result points toward positive, negative as well as neutral relationshipsbetween the four dimensions of CSR and the key figures ROA, ROE and ROIC. Inparticular, two results stood out, which were H4 and H12, where a positive relationbetween the discretionary dimension and profitability measured in ROA and ROICcould be demonstrated. Furthermore, negative relationships could also be demonstrated,albeit with a low degree of explanation. All in all, the study can show that thediscretionary dimension has a positive effect on companies' profitability. The otherindicators cannot prove the opposite with certainty. The answer to the question of whatimpact Swedish companies' work with CSR has on profitability can therefore besummarized in the fact that different activities have different effects. However, thestudy concludes that companies' discretionary activities, such as donating money tocharity, have a positive impact on profitability and therefore something that companiesshould continue with as it benefits both the company and society at large.

How to involve contemporary architecture to historical context or to urban context in a way that the location of the building will agree with its place in the society, but in a way that it will still respect the heritage of contemporary philharmonic orchestra and heritage of Teofil Hansen? The main aim of the design was to find out the most appropriate location and to design the building structure of new philharmonic orchestra that would meet all contemporary acoustic and personal requirements and would take into consideration all development trends.

Senior cohousing is situated in the Moravian-Silesian Region in city Orlová and it is designed as complex. It is a new form of living for seniors in the Czech Republic. The loose translation could be „close neighbourly living for senior people. “ Access road to the complex is from Tešínská Street and then down the main road from the southeast on the car park. Near the car park there are three main buildings. Building A is the main common building for seniors’ meetings. Building B has a private doctor and a small gym. Building C is designed as technical premises. There are four types of family houses for seniors. Family house type 1 - in the complex 3x is suitable for two seniors. Family house type 2 - in the complex 2x is suitable for two seniors with moving difficulties. Family house type 3 - in the complex 3x is designed as semi-detached house for two senior couples. Family houses accommodate 30 seniors in 15 housing units. All the objects are brick, single-storey without cellar built up from HELUZ system with footings from plain concrete with foundation slab, flat roofs, contact insulation of perimeter walls, partly wood tiling. What is more, in senior cohousing there are senior playground, orchard park, lake, road inside the complex, pavements and paths.

Leasingen har ökat under de senare åren. Den har använts som ett alternativt finansieringssätt för många företag. Genom leasing kan företagen undvika lån eller bundet kapital vid investering. Detta medför flexibilitet och ekonomiska fördelar. Enligt IAS 17 klassificeras leasing med två redovisningssätt, operationellt och finansiellt leasingavtal. Ett operationellt avtal betyder en konstant kostnad över leasingtiden i resultaträkningen. Det finansiella leasingavtalet redovisas med en avskrivning och en ränta i resultaträkningen samt en skuld och en tillgång i balansräkningen. Redovisningsskillnaden mellan avtalen medför problem då operationell leasing redovisas utanför balansräkningen "off-balance-sheet". Den operationella redovisningen ger inte investerare och analytiker en rättvisande bild om företagets finansiella ställning. Med anledning av detta har IASB och FASB tvingats utveckla en ny och omarbetad leasingstandard (IFRS 16). Standarden är tänkt att eliminera redovisningsskillnaderna och därmed öka jämförbarheten. Den främsta förändringen i den nya leasingstandarden är att leasingavtal, som är mer än 12 månader, ska redovisas som den nuvarande finansiella leasingen där tillgången tas upp som en tillgång och en skuld i balansräkningen. Syftet är att undersöka förändringen av företagens finansiella ställning före och efter en kapitalisering, vid ett byte från IAS 17 till IFRS 16. Kapitaliseringen innebär ökade skulder och tillgångar i balansräkningen. Rapporten ska undersöka hur balansräkningen förändras. Kapitaliseringen påverkar även resultaträkningen genom avskrivningar och räntekostnader. Dessa förändringar i resultaträkningen ska också undersökas. Tidigare forskning visar att företagens storlek och bransch kan få olika effekt vid en kapitalisering. Syftet är därför att kartlägga kapitaliseringseffekten mellan olika branscher samt beskriva effektskillnaderna mellan företagens storlek, samt söka samband dem emellan. Undersökningen visade att effekten på företagens finansiella rapporter var varierande, där resultaträkningen hade en mindre effekt än balansräkningen. Kapitaliseringen ledde till en kraftig skuldökning samt en mindre ökning på tillgångssidan, som i sin tur gav olika effekt på nyckeltalen. Skuldsättningsgraden och soliditeten påverkades mest, i jämförelse med de andra nyckeltalen i undersökningen. Gällande branscher och företagsstorlek är det Consumer Services och Small Cap, som totalt sett påverkades mest. Detta medför att företagens egenskaper och storlek hade betydelse vid en kapitalisering.

Vol. 1 Belly of the Beast: Major work -- Vol. 2 The Road to Nowhere: Myths of Homeland and Expulsion in Australian Road Stories: Exegesis
Exegesis: Through the lens of Richard Slotkin’s theory of the mythogenesis of the frontier, the exegetical component of the thesis proposes that the circular process of analysis and regeneration of the violent mythology of the frontier in both Australian and American literature has dominated the road writing genre. The triumphant frontier narrative of America and the transcendent failure frontier narrative of Australia repeat in contemporary road writing. Road stories featuring women and characters from positions of cultural, ethnic, class, religious and sexual difference offer one possibility for the disruption of this process. Australian road stories Hiam by Eva Sallis, All the Birds, Singing by Evie Wyld and Floundering by Romy Ash offer a reimagining of road stories beyond the frontier legacies of racial, sexual and class oppression. Ross Gibson’s theory of badlands in Australia, which are narratives set in natural locations which attract more atrocities to occur, informs my approach to the reading of these texts.

Abstract:
This research explores the narratives told by five young adults aged 18 to 25 about their journeys of transitioning out of a large residential treatment facility into less structured settings, in Calgary, Alberta. Participants engaged in in-depth interviews designed to elicit storytelling regarding their time in care. Interviews were transcribed and analyzed using a narrative lens, paying particular attention to the way participants told their stories. Three main storylines emerged from participants’ narratives, including; standardized approaches in residential care, multiple interpretations of what “independence” looks like, and life “after care”. The findings in this study raise questions about the over reliance on behaviour management models within residential care, the limited role of young people in planning and decision making, and restrictive indicators of “successful” transitions. These findings suggest the need for multiple treatment strategies and approaches that are responsive to individual needs and circumstances, especially when making the transition out of care.

The South African Petroleum Industry is very competitive and is vital to the economic growth of the country. It is the basis for much of the nation's productivity, from keeping national transport flowing to producing products and services. The South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA) was formed to further matters of common interest amongst competitive providers of Petroleum Industry Road Conveniences (PIRCs), and to promote good ethics, high industrial standards, competent governance and effective communications within the industry. PIRCs are distributed on most South African roads. This study emphasises and focuses on the location of PIRCs on national routes only. Various factors and theories, which influence the location of a PIRC, are analysed by means of a literature study, personal investigation and practical experience. Attention is given to the physical and legal aspects, which can influence the location of a PIRC. Thereafter, the macro, market and micro considerations are discussed. Particular attention is given to Porter's Five Forces of Competitiveness and the value chain.

abstract: Roald Dahl's books for children have often been characterized as deviating from "normal" plots in books for children because they feature elements and themes (e.g., violence, crude/rude behavior and humor, inversions of authority) that make representatives of the dominant culture (parents, school officials, teachers, librarians, etcetera) uncomfortable. Rather than view the stories holistically, challengers are quick to latch on to the specific incidents within these texts that cause discomfort, and use the particular as grounds to object to the whole. A deeper, and more critical, look reveals that instead of straying from established elements and themes in children's stories, Dahl's works have much in common with fairy tales--narratives that have endured in multiple iterations and over millennia. As with fairy tales, Dahl's stories for children offer readers ways to interpret--to make sense of and derive meaning from--their lives, while reflecting and reinforcing the ideological structures (family, appropriate behavior, capitalism) within which we find ourselves.

This study focuses on the strategies and devices used to create humour in children’s literature. No language is a replica of another language and it is generally accepted that a translator has to be creative in order to make the Source Text (ST) meaning available to the Target Text (TT) reader. The research conducted in this study aims to fill a gap regarding the application of humour in the rather under-researched field of children’s literature. A descriptive framework was used to conduct this qualitative study in order to be able to describe the linguistic strategies and devices used to translate the English source text by Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator into the Afrikaans Target Text, Charlie en die Groot Glashyser by Kobus Geldenhuys. Literary devices to create humour, employed by both the writer and the translator, were identified and analysed. Interviews and reading sessions with ST learners (English) as well as TT learners (Afrikaans) were conducted in order to observe their non-verbal reactions as well as document their verbal comments to complement the data obtained from the textual analysis. The textual analysis showed that the literary device most frequently applied in the ST was the simile and the main trend regarding the transference of humorous devices to the TT was to retain the device with formal equivalence. The most popular translation strategy was direct translation with the most important shifts identified on morphological and lexical level and shifts in expressive and evoked meaning were relatively low. With regard to the reading sessions, the most positive results from both groups of learners regarding humorous devices in the ST and TT were obtained for the device of inappropriate behaviour.

Abstract:
An analysis of a transport operator´s job description My degree work is centred on the problems of a transport operator´s job in a forwarding agency. The introduction provides an explanation of a term of "dispatch service" and explains why logistics is so important in transport. Then there is a description of the transport development after 1990 and the changes transport had to undergo in the time of globalization. The main part of the work deals with the operator´s working procedure from an offer to a demand, an order and other actions to the final realization. A model example is given to represent an actual transporting process. The work also states conditions under which transport is executed, for example payment terms and terms of delivery. Next chapters outline the way of calculation, give a detailed description of collecting service (which is implemented within the bounds of CS Expres system) and of storing problems including the introduction of bar codes in stores and possibilities of logistic service extension. The conclusion is focused on the firm developing strategy.
