Abstract:
This study aims to identify the competencies and to develop a human resource development model for industry 4.0 in Aceh. To achieve the objectives, the study used a mixed-method research approach. Qualitative research was conducted through in-depth interviews with human resource development practitioners and experts who were selected purposively. While quantitative research was carried out by surveying 337 respondents who worked in various fields of work in Aceh. The results showed that there are 4 competencies needed to be able to compete and survive in industry 4.0, which are: (1) personal competence, (2) social competence, (3) methodological competence, and (4) technical competence. Of these four, personal competence has the greatest contribution in explaining the variants of competencies needed in the industrial revolution 4.0. For this reason, various elements of this personal competence should be prioritized in the human resource development model, followed by various other competencies, such as social competence, methodological competence, and technical competence. The development of these various competencies is expected to generate and transform Aceh's human capital into better superior human resources, who mastered and advanced in sciences, technology, and innovation as the main pillars of the regional development to achieve the Indonesia Golden Vision 2045.

Abstract:
The issue of professional English as a foreign language (EFL) lecturer in the industrial revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0) era has received considerable attention. However, very few studies on this subject have been conducted in Indonesia, particularly at State Islamic Universities. To address this gap, researchers conducted a qualitative study to examine how EFL lecturers maintain their professionalism in the IR 4.0 era and the curriculum approach that best meets current teaching and learning needs. The researchers applied a purposive sampling approach in selecting the participants for this study. There were 11 EFL lecturers from a state Islamic university in Banda Aceh, Indonesia chosen to participate in this study. The findings of this study indicate that EFL lecturers must continue to learn and improve their digital and technological competency in order to maintain their professionalism. In terms of curriculum approach, EFL lecturers believe that taking an interdisciplinary approach and providing more opportunities for students to focus on applied skills are essential parts of their teaching professionalism in the IR 4.0 era.

Abstract

One of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 is poverty alleviation, strengthening people’s basic rights and social disruption due to industrial revolution 4.0. However, there are still individuals in Indonesia with little or no access to technology, which this term is then so-called digital poverty. It is therefore very important for the government to do mapping and analyzing groups affected by digital inclusion. For that reason this study is then conducted. This research consists of two parts, firstly is mapping digital poverty using QGIS and secondly is comparing digital poverty with economic poverty into four quadrants. The data used in this study is obtained from the 2019 and 2020 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) data. The digital poverty classification in this study is adopted from Barrantes. The results show that digital poverty in Indonesia is generally decreasing. The ease of internet access and better distribution of infrastructure could be the causes of this decline. Provinces that are getting much better in digital condition within the periode of 2019-2020 are East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Aceh. Meanwhile, the provinces which the digital poverty index remain high in 2020 are Papua and West Papua.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to supplement existing knowledge of British and Asian ‘country’ trade to selected parts of Southeast Asia by drawing upon British private papers and the records of Fort St George, Madras. The 1680s marked the peak of international trade in Siamunder king Narai before the wars and revolution there of 1687–88. The decade also saw the elimination of the last great independent entrepot, Banten, on the Java Sea in 1682, as well as the final, ultimately-futile, Dutch efforts to control the Malayan tin-trade north of Perak. The Dutch also began in 1685 and 1689 their intermittent attempts to monopolize key commodities in the Johor–Riau–Lingga sultánate at the southern end of Malacca Strait. In one sense, given Dutch success or at least pretensions, the region from Pegu and Tenasserim–Mergui through certain Malay ports and Aceh to Ayudhya and Tongking constituted what might loosely be called the free-trade zone of maritime Southeast Asia. It was also one in which, with the exception of Perak after 1745, the indigenous monarchies retained complete or extensive independence from European supervision. Into this zone, with occasional ventures to the smaller Indonesian ports, British country traders sailed for over a century, from Bowrey and Dampier in the 1680s to Light and Scott in the 1770s. What were the principal features of the markets they frequented?

Abstract:
Smuggling through the sea between Sumatra, Singapore, and the Malay Peninsula became a problem for the Indonesian government. This issue has a clash between informal and formal political forces so that claimed status of trade can be label as 'legal' or 'illegal' depending on the capacity and presence of the applicable law. Moreover, smuggling could be considered as a resistance effort during the war and conflict periods. This problem can be seen in upheaval times, such as the independence revolution and regional uprising around the eastern waters of Sumatra. These waters became the gateway for the Republic of Indonesia to penetrate the Dutch blockade and smuggled weapons supplies along with international support. However, when there were rebellions by Darul Islam in Aceh and Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Indonesia (PRRI) in North Sumatra and Central Sumatra, smuggling was also used against the central government in Jakarta. This study uses the historical method, so after collecting historical facts related to smuggling through newspapers, books, and journals, and then interprets them from the perspective of legal anthropology to analyze smuggling during upheaval times as a resistance act to those who oppose politics and economics pressure.KEYWORDS: Smuggler, Sumatra, Revolution of Independence, Regional Uprising.
